Default Diet Coke with Splenda? Has anyone else tried this? r/o

I am on the fence. I usually like Splenda a lot more than any other sweetener, but I think it makes the Diet Coke taste a bit strange. Maybe I just need to get used to it. Would love to hear others thoughts on the new incarnation of Coke.

Yuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The diet coke with splenda tastes like TAB !!! Leave it alone! I like diet coke just the way it is. I did a taste test thing and also shared this opinion.

OH NO, not the dreaded TAB!!!! That stuff was awful, just awful

I love Diet Rite Cola, it's theeee best and it's been around for a long time....it has sucralose (splenda) and it's great.

I haven't tried it yet, but I LOVE Pepsi One which is now made w/ Splenda.

I didn't mind it either... it has aspartame in it as well. However, vs diet coke, I had no throat swelling, and could stomach it. Nice to have for that really crazy coke craving.

I thought it tasted great at first, like regular Coke, but it had a bad chemical aftertaste. Then I got a headache for two hours. I hadn't been drinking any kind of diet soda for a few weeks and it reinforced my willpower not to go back to it!

I haven't even heard of it! I too like Diet Rite as it comes in many flavors. But lately I've been drinking seltzer

It seems to have an almost lemony aftertaste to me. It's ok I guess, but not my favorite.

I actually liked it - but mainly because I've always thought that Diet Coke had too much of a sweet taste to it and seemed to be flatter than regular Coke. This one has more of the fizz that I really like in my sodas. But I'm actually quite good about my soda (all diet, of course) that I drink - I MAY have one a day, but that's it. Much better than I used to be!

I think I must be one of the only people in the world that can hardly tell the difference between Pepsi and Coke and likes them both equally.

I'm upset to hear that it still has aspartame. I was excited to see that they had the Diet Coke with Splenda because the nutritionist said that when pregnant, I can only have 2 servings of aspartame a day but unlimited Splenda. I know I won't want the caffeine, so Diet Rite may be the only thing for me...still, it would be nice to still be able to get a soda in a restaurant when pregnant.

I've tried it and I think it's great. I just wish they would come out with a caffeine free version.

Laurie, you can't tell the difference???

I can't believe it!

See, I may be the only one here that feels this way but I prefer Diet Pepsi (what I affectionately call DiPi, or dippy) over Diet Coke. But Diet Cherry Coke over Diet Pepsi.

Ok so this is my area of expertise! LOL!

So... I was raised on Diet Soda, so my taste for sweetened sodas is a bit off. But, I personally prefer dDiet Coke over Diet Pepsi, BUT I prefer Pepsi over Coke!!!

Tried the Diet Coke with Splenda, thought it tasted like regular Coke (which I don't like) Hubby liked it and even mixed some Captain Morgan with it! LOL! Hubby started buying Pepsi One again since the Diet Coke tasted good to him, and he likes that too.

I'll stick with regular Diet Coke or Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper!!! :yum:
