Does everyone have great plans for the weekend????
I would love to just stay in bed all tomorrow morning and then go to IHOP for a big stack of pancakes, and then have a Subway sandwich, & top that off with some seafood tomorrow night. Does anyone think I'm hungry?
Tomorrow, my sister and I have to box up and/or throw away things at Mother's. The closing date of the sale of the house is Feb. 28. That's getting so close. There's still so much in the house. It won't be a pleasant time.
However, my week at work was great. That's a bright spot. Also, I lost that pound!!!!
Everyone post and then have a great weekend.

Tina, your Saturday "dream" sounds wonderful! Pancakes, subway, and seafood. Heavenly!!!
No big plans for the weekend. Basketball game tomorrow night. Need to go shopping for a b-day gift for my nephew, new shoes for me, and whatever else I can think of.

Tina, did you and your sister get everything accomplished that you wanted to over the weekend? It is always tough to do what you had to do.
I know when my brothers and I worked on things, there were lots of memories, laughter, and some tears. Hope things went well for you.

Tammy. do you get the feeling that we're the only people here??? :)
Yes, we got a whole lot accomplished. In fact, several people showed up (our son & her two sons + 3 grandchildren). There were some tears but we tried to stay busy. The garage/estate sale will be this Fri. and Sat. I hope we sell alot. One of my nephews and his wife hold garage sales all the time and will be incharge of it.
I'm going to drink water all day today because I feel so bloated. Yuk
Hope everyone is doing well.
Tammy, how is Tim? What kind of sports is he playing right now?
Tammy
02-14-2001, 08:31 AM
Yes, I do feel like it's just the two of us!
Good luck with your sale. Believe me, I know how hard it is and what you are going through right now. Thoughts and prayers are with you.
Tim is great! Basketball season is winding down. He is a manager for the 7th grade team. They play their first tournament game on Thursday night. The team they are playing beat them during the regular season, so it should be an exciting game. Hope it isn't their only one!
Tim sent a rose to his friend Emily. The shop was supposed to deliver it today after school. The middle school does carnations that will be delivered at school tomorrow. Tim thought they were ugly last year, and he wanted to do something different for Emily. Hope she was surprised and excited! They have been an unofficial item for about a year now.
Still no house sales for Bob. I think that is part of the reason I have felt so stressed lately and can't kick this cold. I've been on different meds and still have it, so I think it's stress related.
Take care, drink water, exercise, and eat light!!

Hi Tina!
I decided to check in here, since you invited me!
I did ok today, except for the stupid rice, I ate about 3 points over the top today. I drank a lot of water though.
Tina, forgive me for presuming, but did you lose your mother recently? I was reading this thread and I thought......

Everyone, give a big WELCOME to TexasMom, Cindy!!!!!!
We are soooo happy you are here.
We really do have more members. Sometimes it's not easy to post when the pounds aren't coming off.
Cindy, you are doing great! I believe that drinking that yucky water and journaling are important keys to weight loss.
Regarding my mother, she had a massive stroke last May 31. She's in an assisted living apt. now & will never be able to live alone. Unfortunately that means we must sell "our" home and use the money. Thank you for caring enough to ask.
Okay everyone who's out there reading.....come on and reply. Give Cindy a warm welcome.

Good Morning Tina!
Happy Valentine's Day! I'm already trying to think of what to make for dinner. Is that obsessing? I just know myself and I do much better when it's already planned out. My husband makes fun of me because I'm ALWAYS making lists. How bad is ham for you? That's all I have to work with for dinner until I get to the store. Hmmm I'm sure I'll find something wonderful and low points.
This morning I realized that my typical breakfast is at least 7 points. I say at least because today's the first day I've actually measured it, and I usually eat about half again as much as I did today! So, any tips for a mid range ( about 5 or so) breakfast? Man, I've got to learn to like skim milk.......
Tina, I'm so sorry about your mother's illness. I went through something very similar with my mom. I know your pain, hun. And I'll be praying for you and your family. I know firsthand how difficult the things are that you are dealing with right now.
Well, my son and my cousin's daughter are laying down for naps right now so I better get some stuff done! They BOTH like to climb into the dishwasher so needless to say I don't empty it while they are awake! Later, gators!

Afternoon All,
Cindy, what do you usually eat for breakfast??? Do you like yogurt?
If you are not using reduced calorie bread, start now! One slice is only 1/2 pt.
I don't eat much breakfast because I don't have time. Yogurt and hot tea is one breakfast. A slice of reduced cal. toast and a banana or cereal, banana and 1 cup of skim milk is another.
Everyone - what do you eat in the mornings?
TexasMom
02-15-2001, 03:11 AM
Tina, the 7 point breakfast I had was one cup of raisin bran and one cup of 2% milk.
Yogurt's ok, not my favorite but I can eat it a couple of times a week.
I think I'll look around here and read my ww information and come up with my own list of nice reasonable breakfasts, lunches and dinners that way I won't be surprised anymore.
Dang. The best laid plans..... DH invited me spur of the moment to have lunch with him, so I did. At a chinese place. UGH. I did really well with my portions, but veggie lo-mein and a couple of small pieces of sweet and sour chicken will probably be 900 points, I haven't looked yet. http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//sick.gif Good thing I have plenty of vegetables and fat free italian dressing, it's salad time for dinner tonight! I can't believe it. Day two and I'm already eating tomorrow's points. I have some adjusting to do. I haven't learned the exercise=earning more points thing yet, maybe I'll walk more tonight to make some of it up. :)
How's your day going, Tina?

Welcome to the thread Cindy!!!! Great to have you aboard!
Breakfast for me lately has been a can of pop! I really haven't been hungry, so I haven't been eating. Most of the time I have a slice of toast and some yogurt. Sometimes a bowl of cereal. Every now and then I'll splurge and have a donut.
I have been doing so good on food lately, it is scary! I hope the pounds start coming off faster. I guess going down at any speed is better than not losing (or gaining).
We have a 4-day weekend!! Since President's Day is Monday, we also are off on Friday for a mini-break. Looking forward to it, but I'm sure we'll be busy. We always are.
The rose for Emily was a hit. Tim said that some of the girls came up to him at school and told him how neat they thought it was that he had sent a rose to Emily. Apparently she had told them on the bus that goes out to the middle school.
He said she thanked him more than once at school, then after school she thanked him again while I was standing with him. She said that she thought it was very sweet. Young romance!
Good luck at weigh in everyone.

Happy Weigh-In day for Thursday people--
Tammy, it does sound like Tim made a hit with Emily. that was very sweet.
A can of pop??? I've done that before. :)
Cindy, salad suppers are yucky to me. ;)
You are right to read your WW stuff. Be sure to make the 0 pt. vegetable soup. You can vary ingredients if you don't like one thing. Just make sure the amt of a veggie equals 0. It's very good (even in our weather) and lets you save your pts for another meal.
Cindy, where exactly do you live??? You said it was near Houston.
I'm going to start the Weigh In thread now. Hopefully, more of our group will sign in.

Good Morning!
Tammy, how old is your son? He sounds very romantic! That's great that it went over so well. I'd *love* to have a can of "pop" ( by the way, where the heck to you live, that you have to drink "pop"!??!) but that's one of my new year's resolutions is to cut waaaay back on that. I was drinking entirely too much of it every day. Now I don't even bring it home.
Tina, I didn't have the salad for dinner. :( We ended up going out AGAIN, this time to a mexican food place by our house. I ordered tortilla soup, but it was a really small serving, and I was sooo hungry I ended up helping my 5 year old finish his dinner. I learned a lesson, though, it's better to order what I want ( It was between a half order of nachos or the soup) and go over by a couple of points than order something I don't like and end up eating everything left on the table. I bet I went over 10 points by doing that. It was the first time I had their soup and it was gross. I'm starting to realize that it's not as much the quantity of the food, as the quaility. I eat waaay too much fatty stuff. I just never realized. :( Well, today is going to be a perfect day! I already have it all planned out so no surprises and no slipping. I have a trip to Disney to look wonderful and feel wonderful and have energy for!!!!!
By the way, Tina, I live in Friendswood. Where are you?

Hi group. Welcome Cindy!
I havent posted much lately, as I've been recovering from surgery, and its hard to move around, or type *S* but its improving.
Hope everyone had a good Valentine's Day. I didnt get anything from my guy friend in Cali, not even an email :( which made me rather disappointed. But life goes on, at least I didnt get a box of chocolates huh :)
Have a good day all.

Hi,
Dee, you must keep us informed. I'm sorry about the surgery. Hope you are all right.
That stinks that your guy didn't even send an e-mail.
I'm feeling really bad---everyone did so well on Valentine's Day. I sat here eating candy that my guys gave me. I had no willpower this year. Last year, I was given a little box and I made it last for several weeks. This time I'll be doing good to make it last through the weekend. :(

Hello, Dee!
Tina, nobody gave me candy, but I ate some that was given to my kids! http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//sick.gif At least they already ate most of the stuff I like by the time they got home.
UGH. Getting my kids to clean up today is like pulling teeth. I need to ship them off for a couple of days and clean out their rooms. Oh well, off the subject......
How do you think this sounds: broccoli, water chestnuts, carrots in a stir fry with diced ham? I really don't feel like going to the store tonight and that's all I have at the moment.... With brown rice of course. OR maybe I should slice it and put teriyaki and pineapple on top, and have the veggies on the side? Which sounds better? ( which will my kids eat?! ) I'll probably go with the sliced. They love fruit. Later, Gators!

Cindy, it all sounds good to me! LOL My son, Tim, is 12 and will turn 13 in a few weeks. Emily turned 13 last month.
We live in southwestern Ohio. I do drink too much pop, but I like it. I have to watch the diet with Nutrasweet because it gives me the shakes. (hands, arms, and legs) I like the Diet Rite with Splenda, but my all time favorite is real Pepsi!
I did great on the Val. Day stuff at the party today at school. My High School aide bought donuts for the class. I passed on one. I passed on all of the candy and the punch. I DID NOT pass on the chocolate cupcake with extra pink icing and sprinkles on it that Kylee made just for me! YUMMY!!
Dee, when you hear from that guy tell him that I think he was poopy-woopy to you on Val. Day. Bob and I usually just do cards anymore. You know, old married people! LOL We'll be married 20 years in June.

Hi everyone!
Well, it was sliced ham with pineapple. The kids liked it but I thought it was too salty. I wonder if there's a light version of teriyaki, like there is Lite Soy Sauce??
I stayed within my points, anyway! WooHoo!!! On to the next challenge!
Tina, where in Houston are you?
I only have a second, I'm babysitting today and it sounds like she's waking up. I hope everyone has a great day!

Hi everyone. I'm Tracy, and have moved over to this post with Cindy and Tina.
This is just my 3rd day on WW, and so far I have been able to stay within my points. I am encouraged because I usually don't have this much will power, but am determined this time to lose the extra lbs.
I love this program, because I can still mess up and just have to count the points. I 've done good with the water, but have not met my fruit/veggie goal yet. I've been surfing though, and have found some really great suggestions from others.
I hope everyone has a great OP day.

Hi Tracy! Welcome to the thread. It's always nice to meet someone new.
Good luck on Weight Watchers! They always say that if you do the program right, it will work for you. I know so many people (men, women, and teens) who have done absolutely wonderful on the program.
Cindy, there has to be a lite version of teriaki out there somewhere! I'm not much of a salt lover, so I can understand about the salt.
I met a couple friends for brunch today at Bob Evans. We had so much fun. Last summer we went away for a few days together, and we went for a weekend shopping trip in December. We are now talking about our next get-away. Hard to tell when or where we will go. One of the gals informed us today that she will be going back to school to get a teaching degree!!! She is an aide in the MH unit at our elementary, so she will start taking classes on Saturdays until school is out. Then this summer she will go full time. I am so excited for her. She is my age (45), so this is a very big step. She has two sons, one graduated last year and the other is a 10th grader. Her hubby and the boys are all supporting her in this decision.
Carol said by the time she gets her degree, I will be retiring! She's almost right. It will take her a couple of years since she had already gone to school for 2 years sometime ago. I only have 6 more years until I can retire! Am I looking at the light at the end of the tunnel here?

Hey Tracy! Glad you made it over here!
Well, today is going great, points-wise. I made that tomato/basil/pasta stuff that's in the week one book for dinner tonight. It smells delicious! Dang, I hope it's good, because it was really easy to make. Has anyone here tried it yet?
Tonight my husband is taking our kids shopping for my birthday! I have been hinting around for a silver charm bracelet from James Avery, but we are still saving for vacation, so it will probably wait until next year. :)
I have GOT to work in more exercise, if I did that, I'd feel much better about things.
Later!

Hi Tracy, welcome to the thread :)
Remember, you've only just begun. You'll learn more about getting in those fruits & veggies. I have a real hard time with the veggies. Fruit is easy, I could eat it all day long.
Cindy, when is your birthday????
Our son will be 27 on Monday. I just can't believe he's that old. The way it's going, I don't know when I'll be a grandmother. :) He hasn't had a girlfriend in years. Oh well, some day he'll meet the right one.
We are having the Estate sale. Today we took in a little over $1400.00. We don't have a lot more small things but do have furniture. Tammy, you understand how hard this is for me. I don't know if our son will come or not. It's hard on him--as it is on one of my nephews.
Everyone have a fantastic weekend!!!!!

Tina, when we had the auction I was outside for a while. I kept coming in to the house and just watching through the windows. There were so many memories that left the yard that day. Many things were purchased by family and friends, so that helped.
WeighDown Workshop. Started by Gwen Shamblin. Instead of emphasizing on the calorie content of food, the focus is on the natural, internal hunger. Focus is trained to turn to the will of God as it relates to food.
At the meetings, we watch a 1 hour video. There is discussion afterwards. There is a Student Guide and audiocassettes. Between the classes that are once a week, I listen to the tape(s), do "homework" assignments in the guide, read from the Bible (I am learning so much!!), and try not to think about food!
I am trying to eat only when really hungry. When I am full, I stop. I am still eating healthy things, but like with the WW points, you can have what you want. Just as long as you don't overdo it. I am usually not hungry in the mornings, that's why I just drink something (pop!). That holds me until our 11:20 lunch, then I am READY!! I have cut way back on the amount of food that I am taking for my lunches. I am also not snacking during the school day. Sometimes after school, I feel a little hungry, so I'll eat a few crackers or nuts that I keep in my desk drawer. Then I'm usually hungry by supper time. Have also not been eating snacks before bedtime, because I am not hungry.
The program is focused on the will of God, not our will. Being new to the Bible, some of it is overwhelming. I have only been attending church regularly for 2 years. Everyone else in the group I am in has grown up in the church.
My first class that I attended was Jan. 23. Since then I am down 4 1/2 pounds. For me, that is ALOT! You all know how slow I am to lose anything. My grand total is now 15 1/2 with a zillion more to go.
Web site: www.wdworkshop.com (http://www.wdworkshop.com)
Check it out. I still agree with the WW program, but there was just something missing for me. I hope this will be the answer. Learning the Bible and losing weight at the same time.
