The challenges for the week!
1. Try to get in an extra day of exercise!
2. This week, when you go someplace, park at the end of the parking lot so you have to walk extra.
3. Get out the old bathing suit and try it on. Its going to be swimming weather before you know it....
Go out there and make this a good week! :)

Morning everyone! Tonight is the big dinner. I was so excited about it, I could hardly sleep last night. I have a lot to do today, so I may not be on much until tonight, or tomorrow. I hope you all have a great day!

Good Monday Morning Ladies,
It was a great weekend. Derby was fun, but I'mw orn out. Too much food and too much alcohol. I'm ready to get back on the wagon, so Bob send it around. I need to ride b/c I can't walk at all. I have blisters on blisters and the bottoms of my feet hurt so bad I can hardly walk. I wish I had worn my house shoes today.
Graduation was short and sweet. Can't believe my baby is out of college. Mother's day was nice but not a big deal. My niece had her baby yesterday morning so while we were in Lexington, we went by the hospital to see them. She is soo tiny. Then we got stuck for 2 1/2 hours in a bad wreck. It normally takes us 1 hour and 20 minutes to get home and it took 3 1/2. Talk about fun!
I'm still swamped here at work so don't know how much I will get on this week. Hope this slows down soon. I miss not being on here alot.
Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day and a great weekend.
Monet, hope your dinner goes great tonight, but I know it will with you behind it.
Mother's Day was nice...my DH took me to see Sahara...FINALLY!!...and then took me out for Chinese food. Its always nice to get out with just the two of us, but I always end up seeing something one of the kids would like to see...a cool car or something...and then I start to miss them underfoot. BUT, my DS stayed at my mom's while we were out and he made me a GREAT card with my mom for mom's day. He's such a good writer!! His penmanship at 4 1/2 is already about as good as my DD's and she's going into Junior High!!
Jack: Your baby has graduated from college?? Wow...and to think I'm obsessing over DD moving up out of the elementary school and into Junior High. Not to mention obsessing over DS going to preschool this fall!! And how nice for your niece to have had a baby on Mother's Day!! My daughter was born the week after. Her father, who had no job, went for a walk on Mother's Day that year and picked me some flowers on the side of the road...I sniffed them and there was actually a BEE in them!! :o Sign of things to come!! So, I cried the whole day because she was due before Mother's Day that year...and I really wanted to meet her. Hormones... :^:
Monet: Good luck to you with your big dinner!! I'm sure it will be AWESOME!!
So, I'm planning DD's birthday party. We usually invite the entire class (there's only 12 kids in the class), but this year she wants a sleepover, so she's only inviting the girls. Should be fun...I'll order pizza and get ice cream and bake a cake and we'll watch movies and probably do makeovers and get a pinata.
Also, GS cookie time is over, but now I'm trying to get money from the moms. One girl, whose parents are extremely irresponsible, sold twice as many cookies as any other girl and I can't get them to bring the money over. I've called three times today and only get an answering machine. These are the same parents that forgot to pick up their daughter TWICE after scouts. The mom thought the dad was picking her up and he didn't know it was Girl Scouts day. So, she sat here until 6:30 (pick up time is 4:30) and they were on line, so the phone was busy, busy, busy...so I just drove her home after we ate dinner and fed her. Poor thing. AND, the mom just said, "Oh, Hi Jillian!" and never thanked me or asked why I was driving daughter home. WHat flakes!! So, now I have to get the money from them for 175 boxes of cookies and I was supposed to get the money to the main cookie lady on Friday. If I don't get the money from her soon, I have to sick the GS Council on them to extract the money from them. I hope I don't have to do that...
Okay...gotta run. Kris

Good Morning:
I cannot believe school is out in 3 weeks. My DD has SAT testing this week. She is coughing STILL, but I know she has to be there. I hope she feels o.k. through her testing.
On Saturday, my DH and kids ran out to Wal-Mart, and came home with a bouquet of flowers and some little gifts and balloons. They surprised me with those. Britt has been planning this for weeks....she had made about 8 different cards for me, and had Lane make a few. She also made one on the computer at school. My entire kitchen counter is full of pictures, cards, flowers and little gifts (coffee mugs, books, etc...). It's so cute how important these days are to them when they are this young. I know to enjoy it now because it won't last too much longer.
Yesterday, we went to church and then out for Mexican food. I had two daquiris and too much to eat. I did bring my flax chips to eat, but then ate the pollo fundido for lunch/dinner. We ate at 1:00, so that was our main meal of the day. I made grilled cheese for the kids in the evening and served it with some grapes & strawberries. I wasn't even hungry. I just went to the grocery store and did my weekly shop. It was a nice day, and the weather was wonderful all weekend long.
I did not work out on Saturday; I planned to but didn't feel up to it. I plan to go today. It's been two weeeks, so I will have to ease into it. I'm still trying to decide what body groups I will work.
Gator: I did read your entry from yesterday, and it was very well stated. I am sure it is a difficult day for many. I haven't talked to my mom since Easter, and it was very sad for me. You have to know my family....I had a small disagreement with my 22-yr. old niece (who lives with my parents). Everyone had to get involved and then it turned ugly. They weren't taking my calls, so I sent an e-mail stating that although we are all different that we are all still family and that we should still love one another regardless of what our beliefs are. I got an e-mail back from my dad saying that they blocked my phone number and e-mail address and to respect them by not trying to contact them. I mailed my mom a card, but couldn't call. It's really a sad situation. I don't like holding grudges, and I have always been a peace-maker, and it is difficult for me not to be able to make things right because they would rather hold grudges and be unhappy. Anyhow, enough of my woes. I'm glad you had an enjoyable Mother's Day...sorry about the gator. ENJOY YOUR TRIP. We will be excited to hear all about it when you return!!!
Monet: Glad you enjoyed your Mother's Day; too bad you couldn't have gotten a little more sleep. I am sure after tonight, you will crash hard, and sleep well. Good luck with the dinner; I am sure it will be fabulous.
Jack: Glad you enjoyed the Derby. We watched it on TV. Sorry about the traffic jam; that's got to be the worst. I can't stand getting stuck in traffic. Congrats to your niece...becoming a mother on Mother's Day; it doesn't get any better than that. Hope your feet are feeling better soon....did you wear new shoes, or just do too much walking?
Well, I better run and get some things done around here, and spend some time with Lane.
Take care,
Nat

Tech: We were posting at the same time. Glad you had a good Mother's Day, and that you were able to get out with your DH; it's always nice when the two of you can spend a little alone time together. How was the movie? I have not heard too many rave reviews on it.
Only 12 kids in class???? The sleepover sounds like a lot of fun. One of Britt's friends already invited her over for one, but she is only 7, and I know she is not even close to ready for that; neither am I. AND, when she is ready, I want to have all the sleepovers at my house (ha). It will be hard for her to be gone all night and not know what she is doing.
Gheez, sorry to hear that you are having to deal w/ flaky parents. How terrible. It amazes me sometimes....how irresponsible parents can be. Also, how willing they are to leave their kids. At Britt's party, she had 30 kids at a very busy park. Parents expected to just drop their kids and leave. I had to tell them that my DH and I could not be responsible for watching 30 kids, and that they really needed to stay for the 2-hour party. I was busy doing the party stuff and watching Lane (which is a job in itself - ha). I guess I tend to be a little too overprotective, but they are my babies, and I don't want anything to happen to them.
Anyhow, enjoy the rest of your week!

Pancho--That is a very sad story, but let's none of us let Pancho's experience go to waste. Pancho, thanks for sharing that. I know it must be painful. The lesson for all of us, (and this comes from the Bible also) is "don't let the sun go down on your anger." Mend fences quickly, even if you have to give up your right to be right. Even when you ARE right. Life is too short to have a broken relationship with those dear to you. The relationship is more important than who is right and who is wrong. Sadly, many people carry these types of grudges for years and miss seeing their children and grandchildren grow up (Like the movie "Home Alone.") How sad it is when one of the parties dies unexpectedly, never having resolved the estrangement. My DH's uncle is estranged from his only son, and it is very sad. Each is waiting for the other to break the ice and apologize. The uncle has even written his son out of his will! Pancho, my heart breaks for you and I pray that your family's heart will soften and you will be reunited with your parents.
I had a yukky night last night, waking up about 4 feeling very nauseus. So I got up and "woofed my cookies" and still felt rather bad. Today I feel like a wrung out dishrag and doing anything is an effort. Yuck. I've had a small bowl and cereal and some water so far today.
We leave tomorrow at 9 am. So, if I don't get back on, I'll post sometime after June 7.

Just thought I would do a quick check in. I am so sleepy I can hardly keep my eyes open. If my feet didn't hurt so bad I would walk outside for some air.
I need some prayers today. My friend's sister is having a brain biopsy right now. Pray that all goes well and it turns out to be nothing. And if it is something, then it is treatable. She is in her young 30's.
Gator, I sure hope you are feeling better before your leave for your trip. Have a wonderful time (I know you will). We will miss you.
Nat, How sad, I know it has to be very painful for you. Hopefully one day your parents will realize how much they are missing. My DH never spoke to his brother after his mom passed away. 15 years later, he comitted suicide. I think he regrets not making peace. I had worn flip flops on Friday and even though they did not bother me then, we had to walk about 20 minutes to get to the car and then Saturday I wore some flat sandals and they rubbed blisters.
Bob, Yes the Downs is beautiful. Doesn't look anything like the old place. Hope your injection is working by now.
Tech, enjoy these days with your young ones. Once they get in high school the time flies. I have fun with them but can't believe they are all grown up. I remember many of time we took kids home from practice or scouts. Some parents are so irresponsible. I think they are onlu looking for babysitters. Hope you find a way to get that money.
Go to go wake up. Only one more hour before I'm out of here. Yeah!
Have a great evening.

What's up, Sugarbustin people? It is good to be back on the board!!! I have missed all of you so much. Life is hectic, but I need to make SB and this board a priority if I intend to stay on track. Things have been going well for me and I made 4 years on SB on Easter Sunday. My latest food dilemma is that I take in way too many carbs!!! I trained for a triathlon and have gotten into mountain biking and off road races..and my food intake and carb consumption increased dramatically!!!! I need to stop doing these races as an excuse to carbo load :). I have been trying to stay on track ALL WEEK and not let things go on the weekends. It is struggle, but I am trying to maintain a healthy balance between my increased exercise and my food intake. If anyone has any suggestions, I am all ears!!!
I am so glad to see all the familiar faces are still on the board! Jack-K...the wagon is coming for both of us...glad you will be on it with me!!!!!!
Have a great day! - Ashley

Okay, so I stopped in to Jillian's mother's house after calling a few more times and getting the answering machine (I left a message that I'd be stopping by) and there she was, and said that her answering machine was acting up. Oh, well...I got my money anyway...she said she still has a few more to collect from, but I got well over $400 from her anyhow, so now I can go to the cookie diva in town and pay her off. Then I can obsess over camping. We're going the first weekend in June for two nights! I'm hoping that with the money we made in cookie sales we can buy a decent tent!! I got me and DD new sleeping bags at walmart the other day. My safety net is that this is a council-wide camping trip, so there will be a dozen or so other leaders and their troops there, as well, so if I forget something like dishsoap, I can borrow some from someone. Or if I have a panic attack, I'll have someone there to console me :( . I really can't wait, but I've never gone camping with four girls before...there is going to be a bonfire on Sat. night, stargazing, swimming (for the GIRLS...you won't get me swimming in the river this soon in the season...it seems like last week it had 4 feet of ice to cut through!! It takes till late July for it to warm up enough for me!! ) there will be crafts, I"m brining boondagle to make keychains with and we get to use the nature center. It's going to be a blast!! We'll be staying at Wellesley Island State Park...Wellesley Island is also where I'm told Viggo has a place on the river for his parents to come visit him when he's here. ;)
Okay...I was gonna do replies, but I'm tired, so I'll do it tomorrow...
Talk to you then...Kris

Just a fly by...the dinner went better than I expected. The biggest problem was not mine...only 23 people RSVPed. There were 52 there!!! Thankfully, the food amounts worked out ok, and I had enough extra to make up some for the staff, so me and my kitchen help did not starve. We had a blast doing it. The highlight of the evening for me was being taken out of the kitchen, and receiving a standing ovation from the leadership attending! Wow... I came home and took a shower, and now I have to go put stuff away! :) I will be back tomorrow to do replies.

Sebray: Did I miss a post? You had food poisoning? Yuck...you poor thing. I'm glad Aidan's birthday went well, at least. Good luck with the cleansing. Better you than me!! :^:
Monet: A standing ovation!! Wow...not that I didn't expect it...the food you list as cooking up for people is always amazing!! Now you can get back to normal life...at least until next week when you're planning your next shindig!!
Bob: How is the pain therapy coming? Yes, Matthew is my all-time favorite on the big screen, otherwise I wouldn't have gone to the movies to see Sahara. It was good, but I was wondering about the choice of songs they used. And it was way off from the book (I just read it a fewmonths ago) and they left out pretty major parts of the story. The book was waaaay better, imho. BUT, any movie with Matthew in it is good because even if the movie is bad, at least I can oogle at Matthew
Ashley: Welcome (back) on board!! WOW...you seem like you've taken exercise to a whole new level!! I huff and puff just riding my bike to the store! But that was also last summer before I started SB and lost 15-20 lbs. Hope you post often!! I'm looking forward to 'loosing' with you!!
Jack: Brain biopsy...what a bummer of a thing to go through. I've heard equal stories of good and bad. The bad stories have always been with people in their 60's or more and the good stories have been with younger people like with your friend's sister. One person I heard of has had THREE brain tumors and they were all...benign? Cancer-free? My mother-in-law and my favorite aunt weren't so lucky and had rather nasty, aggresive malignant tumors. Sending up prayers for your friend's sister and hoping that her age plays into a cancer-free tumor that is easily treatable!! :grouphug:
Gator: See you in June!! We'll miss you!! And I hope you're feeling less icky soon!!
Pancho: Yes, there are only 12 fifth graders in my daughter's school. Its an unusually small class for the school...most classes have closer to 20, but we do live in a small village. The school district includes the next town over which is a bit bigger and they have more like 80 kids in the fifth grade, and next year when my DD goes to junior high, she merges with that class and then things become less close-knit...my dd is nervous, but I can't wait for her! I graduated in a class of 470 and there were so many kids to be friends with...if you don't get along with someone in DD's class, you're forced to learn to get along because there's not a lot of choice...which is good in learnign how to get along with people later in life, like at work, but I'm looking forward to her going to junior high and having more of a variety of kids to hang out with. Good ones, I HOPE!!
And I hope things smooth out with you and your family soon! I just have to ask...are you Italian? I don't mean to be insultive, but it sounds so much like my DH's family. My father in law once told my uncle in law (my mil's brother) that his baby grandson had big ears...my mil and her brother didn't speak for TEN YEARS!! All over a goofy dumb comment like 'He has big ears'. My daughter's paternals are Italian, too, and they're the same way. One ill-stated comment and you're banished forever!! Until something tragic happens, then everyone's all tears and apologies. Funny...my family is anythign but perfect, we have the opposite problem...we NEVER discuss negative issues. Sure, we don't have any blowouts, but nothing ever gets discussed, either. For instance, my sister, who is extremely rich, gave me a $30 candle for my wedding and has never ever had a conversation longer than one sentence to my DH. I have no idea why, but I think it has something to do with having my DS before we got married and she listens to too much Dr. Laura...but she definitely shunned me at my wedding, but since we were raised to not have confrontational conversations, I"ll never know why!!
Okay...I think that's everyone!! You'll never believe that the temp is supposed to go up to 80 today!! I'm so excited!! And they're calling for thunderstorms later on. I know...you guys down south don't like them because you guys get some real ripsnorters, but up here, we hardly get any interesting weather except extreme cold. I LOVE weather...in fact I took Meteorology 101 for my science elective in college and got an A!! One day we had a pretty hefty thunderstorm roll down the river towards us and we even had a waterspout form!! Woohoo!! It was so cool!! So, whenever I see Tstorms in the forecast, I get all excited for something of substance and it very rarely happens...unless we're in the boat and then we get chased down the river by lightning and thunder and then that's NO FUN. Murphy's Law...if you want to see cool Tstorms, go out in the boat!!
Okay...I have to go get moving...talk to you guys later!!

Water
My old friend, water, my good companion, my beloved mother and father: I am its most natural offspring. ~Doris Grumbach
Throughout the ages water has been considered a great healer. We begin our lives in the waters of our mother's womb. We are born of water, a large percentage of our bodies is water, and water helps us digest and carry what we need throughout our bodies. We need water physically, psychologically, and spiritually.
Treat yourself to a long session with water.
My Thoughts:
Water obviously is very important. We need to make sure we drink enough of it. I saw a report on 20/20 the other day that said tap water (depending on where u live...the tap water they compared was NYC water) is just as healthy and tastes the same as expensive bottled water. So no one can say that they don't drink water because the tap has germs in it and doesnt taste as good as the bottled stuff, and though you may not want to buy the bottled water guess what.....tap is free :)
My Challenge to Everyone:
It's very simple this week. Just drink 40oz of water. If you already drink that much then drink an extra glass. Water is a natural resource for us. It is an energizer and purifier. Take one day and just drink water, you'll see how much better you feel. While you're at it, take a long bath. We don't just need to drink water, we need to enjoy it. Bathing, soaking, drinking - we need to let water be an important part of our lives.

Breakfast was two waffles, three bacon, and a cup of espresso with way too much cream! Yum! My brain is now awake, but my body is rebelling! Standing for 8 hours yesterday did a number on me. I am hoping the hobbles clear up soon. I have gone down and woken my son up three times already, and he has still not gotten up. I am NOT going to go down there again, especially since it hurts to do the stairs. He is already late for work, and its his problem.
Tomorrow, my married daughter and her husband are coming over for dinner. We have not seen them in an age. I am going to make beef wellingtons, since I have most of what I need left over. I just need to go get the meat, and I can get it cheaper than organic hamburger, so I may as well! :s: Too bad no one makes a whole wheat puff pastry! My son in law tried once, but it did not turn out too good. Part of it was great, but part of it was definitely not...
On to replies:
SEBRAY: Hmm, interesting. I actually LIKE the lemonade. It tastes good to me. Whats more, I was actually craving it when I did the cleanse for two days last week. I plan on doing it again later this week, I just have my daughter and son in law coming for dinner tomorrow night, and a church leadership dinner on Thursday night. I guess Friday I will start it again, and go for a full ten days.
TECH: Oh! oh! I love weather too! When I was in high school, we did a unit on weather in my earth science class. I really got into figuring out rain deficits and weird stuff like that. I did a science project on cloud formations in elementary school too. Maybe I should see if there is a class I can take at Georgia State, or the junior college near here! :) Thankfully, I am not going to have to cook a leadership meal for a few months...but I do have a wedding I am going to do the reception for coming up in June.
BOB: I hope the shot is helping some now! <<hugs>>
JACKIE: Great to see you! Sounds like you have really gotten into working out! I am very lazy, so I can't advise you on eating and working out hard. You might want to check out the forum on here, LWL (ladies who lift) Mel, the moderator in there, used to do Sugarbusters, and is now a personal trainer. She might have some good advice for you. BUT, you can't desert us for that forum, is that understood??? :)
JACK: I hope all went well with your friend's sister. Any news? I hope too your feet are better! I can relate! Standing on the hard floor in the kitchen yesterday, for hours and hours has really done a number on my legs, knees and feet. I would love to crawl back in bed and sleep, but my brain is racing...and my body just can't keep up! ;)
GATOR: I hope and pray you are feeling better... Gosh, we will miss you! Have a great time, and keep notes so you can fill us in with all the details!!
PANCHO: I am so glad your hubby and kids made your mother's day special. I just felt sick for you reading about your parents. My father's family was like that, and my brother inherited the genes...he told me at my mother's funeral he did not care if he ever saw me again in his life. As far as I was concerned, he was just a man on the street.... It really hurt, but its been nine years, and I know God has blessed me with abundance emotionally that my brother will never have, or understand. I have friends who are more brothers to me than he ever was or could be. I have a fabulous marriage, and neat kids, even if they are not up to his standards. I hope you can find such blessings, and not let the hurt be a long term wound. <<hugs>> Shall I adopt you? I would love to have a couple grandkids that are not furry and four legged!
Now where have Arcayne, Toni, Fruit, Sarah, Country and Thin gotten off to? Man, I need to get a hammer and some nails and nail their shoes down so they don't keep getting lost! :)

Good morning...
I am back again. I seem to get into this lazy period every now and then. Jess got into trouble at school, this time engaged in a fist fight with a boy. That really broke my heart as I do not see my daughter in that manner. Jess is certainly not a saint but I didn't expect her to engage in a fight....at least not yet...lol. I was heart-broken because I felt bad for Jess that she had to experience the chaos of life at this age. I know that's life but I know it is not the most stressfree environment she is in. The biggest thing that I realized is that instead of working on Jess alone, I have to work on myself more. It is more "me" than her. How I react and handle things with her has so much effects (whether it turns out to be positive or negative) on her and I need to choose my actions wisely. I know she looks up to me and dh so much that how she reacts to situations have a lot to do with how dh and I react to our situations. I know I am babbling again so I am going to stop now...lol.
Dh took me and Jess out for Mother's Day dinner yesterday and it was so much fun. The last time we went out to eat was few months ago and I enjoyed the ocassional treats we get. Dh is not big on eating out so we don't do it often. Jess was so thrilled because it is one of her fav things to do with mom and dad. She kept telling us what a great time she had. I didn't eat legal but didn't go overboard with the portions. We went to Johnny Carino's Country Italian Restaurant (first time) and absolutely loved the food not to mention the decor of the restaurant which was so cosy. We even had dessert. Dh had tiramisu which was soooooooo goood and light while Jess and I had Canolis which were good but a little too heavy and sweet for me. We both shared one.
Yesterday was a fun day overall. Jess had her last Kindermusik class and we then had lunch with her teachers and friends after the class. Jess and I missed them already. After the music class, I took Jess to her 4 year old check up. She passed with flying colours even with the 3 shots she had to endure. That poor girl, she didn't expect the shots would hurt since she didnt remember her last shots at 2 years old. I am proud of her.
Well....here's my menu for today :
Breakfast : 1 cup of soymilk, 1 ww waffle with Agave and 2 small breakfast sausages.
Snack : Will be attending "tea" at Jess preschool...something special the teachers are putting together for all moms.
Lunch : Baked salmon with ginger dressing, stir-fry bok choy and cous cous.
Snack : Fruit salad in plain yogurt (with a little Agave).
Dinner : Not too sure at this moment.
Some replies :
JACK : Congrats on your dd graduation. I bet it was quite emotional :) I am back on the wagon myself, lets do it together :)
TECH : I am not very good at planning a birthday party so my salute to you for daring to handle 12 kids...lol. The last time, we had 7 kids and that was way too much for me....lol. Glad you finally collected the money for he GS cookies. That must be a big relief.
PANCHO : Sounds like you had a wonderful Mother's Day. What a sweet family you have :) I am so sorry about your challenges with your family. All I can say is....what matters is "what you do" and the rest is up to them. All you can do now is pray that their heart softens and they let go of the unimportant stuff that are holding them back from having a close family. I commend you for doing what you know is right. {{{hugs}}}
GATOR : Have a good trip!
JACKIE-O : Welcome back!! Good to see you. Looks like you are doing very well, WTG!
BOB : Hellooo....hope you are doing well in sunny Florida :)
MONET : You certainly deserve a standing ovation. What you have done and continue to do is definitely a blessing to so many.
SEBRAY : Food poisoning?? Oh no...I hate that. Hope you feel better soon. {{{hugs}}
That's it for now. Need to get ready to leave for my Mother's Day tea at Jess's school. Ahhhh.....what a life (as Jess always says...lol) and nothing better than being a mother:)
Good day everyone.

Sebray:  I'm laughing with you with the detox woes. I guess your body decided for you whether you should detox or not!! Seriously, though, I hope you can get to feeling better soon...maybe you're suffering from post traumatic stress after last semester!! It always took my body a long time to recover after a semester wound down with all I had on my plate to along with it...kids...a job...etc... It's like your body may be decompressing or something. Try to relax and take it easy...have a good cry...it releases things in the brain that help you feel more even-keel. Did you ever see that episode of Raymond where Debra needed time to just have a good cry? Raymond was watching through the window and was all "Oh, my Gawd, she's unhappy with her life with me..." and all she needed was a good cry.
Okay...I just had to add that I've gotten a little tarnish on my dieting halo. A thin mint or two here...a burger with a white bun there...and there was that mallo cup I had waiting for my van to be re-inspected yesterday. Well, as we all know, it all adds up to a pound gain. One pound is all, but that's too many when we're trying to LOSE!! So, today I'm having a no-starchy-carbs day. And lots of water and I think I'll start to dig for my veggie garden for excercise. Not to mention walking the dog.
Speaking of KUJO...he dug up my three year old Climatis vine I've been working on. This was the year it was going to be the most beautiful...first year I only had one flower, last year I had a half dozen, this year it had wonderful fluffy green leaves and promised to cover my chain link fence with dozens of beautiful blue flowers...but noooooo...Junior decided it needed to be uprooted and ripped from the roots!! Bad dog!! It was funny, now that the mourning period is over because I went runnign out in my sock, over my Dorothy Doors (basement doors on the outside ofthe house...like Dorothy was kicking in to get into the root cellar in Wizard of Oz) and was screaming like a banshee and slipped and fell and I"m thinking my nieghbors must think I need to be committed. Oh, well, I put up a little fence around it and buried what was left of the bottom of the vine in hopes that it reroots itself, but I'm pretty sure it's history.
And, yesterday was my turn to trim the rose bushes down. I have a miniature rose bush that came with the house and all I ever saw of it when I moved in was just a few strings of rose leaves, no buds at all. But with my trimming and watering it over the last five years, its a right and proper rose bush and does really well now. I also planted a climbing pink peace rose along another section of my chain link fence and want to go to Walmart today and get another one. I need some more hastas for areas in my garden that are too shady for most flowers. I do well with my foxgloves and impatience every year, but that's about all I can get to grow with all my giant maple trees. Oh, and my climatis did well, too until JUNIOR got ahold of it!! Oh, well, that's life with a dog, right?
Okay...menu today is:
BF Blueberry smoothie (recipe below for those that are looking at menus for their own ideas) and two pieces of bacon
Lunch: Can of tuna with grapes and cantaloupe
Dinner: Turkey burger with sauteed mushrooms and onions and some summer squash, probably fried with egg
Blueberry Smoothie:
Cindy and I have smoothies alot...not completely sure what her recipe is as smoothie recipes are as unique as the person making them,
1/2 cup of frozen blueberries
1 cup of lowfat, plain yogurt
Splenda to taste
vanilla extract to taste
1/2 cup of milk
I also sometimes add strawberries or oranges or green bananas, but oranges make for an unusual colored smoothie if that matters
Anyhow...blend it and drink it!! Nice for summer or when everyone else is having ice cream!!

Good morning ladies.
I'm bummed out today. My skirt is too tight. My butt and hips are growing by the minute. I can't imagine how big I would be if I didn't exercise. This is so frustrating.
Good news about my friend's sister. They do not think it is a tumor. Maybe scar tissue. They will get the path report in about 5 days.
I felt horrible last night. About 4:30 I got really dizzy and sick at my stomach. We managed about 1 mile walk and I did my 20 mintues of wts. I think my busy weekend is catching up with me.
Ashley, I am so happy to see you back on here. I have missed you. Now if we can keep Missy on here...Sounds like you have done more than your share of exercising. So I am assuming your wt is still in check. Those carbs are hard to give up. I was just thinking this morning I need to go a couple weeks w/o any. Had a bagel for bf and 1/2 pc of bread for lunch. I'm doomed. Welcome Back.
Bob, There is no way I could watch EM Wedding. I cry through the whole regular show. Plus it was opposite of CSI. Are you feeling better today?
Tech, my girls always loved the campouts. My idea of camping now is a Holiday Inn. Have fun!
Monet, You received a well deserved standing ovation. I can't beleive you made dinner for 23 stretch to feed 52. Maybe someone blessed and multiplied it. ???
Sebray, Did you have food poisioning? How awful. Hope you are feeling better today. Sorry the cleanse didn't work for you. I could never do it.
It is still crazy here. We have a big presentation due next week.
Have a great day.

Sorry i've not been good lately about checking in. :^: I stepped on the dreaded scale this am, but not going to report what it says :o I'm hoping some of it is PMS water weight. Hopefully I can update my ticker next week with better numbers! ;)
These next two weeks will be full due to it being the last couple of weeks of school. Sean had his band banquet and lock in this last weekend and we had a family wedding that both of the kids were in. Rachel has her annual dance recital on the 21st. They are performing two shows of Sleeping Beauty plus all the hiphop, tap and jazz numbers as well. She has been dancing for 6 yrs now and will be moving up to a new level this summer and going on pointe. She is such a beautiful dancer, I always get teary just watching her. Then the last week of school Sean has a field trip to Callaway Gardens and the "Little White House" and Rachel will be "graduating" from the fifthe grade and off to join her brother in middle school next year. Gosh! They just grow up so fast!
Well, I better get back to work!

Quick Question:
Has anyone made chicken quasadeas (phonetic spelling)? I am thinking of having them for my bunco dinner next week. Are they easy. My DD has a quasadea maker. Is it something I can fix ahead? I need help!

I'm crazy busy this morning so I will try to sneak on later.

Just a quickie reply to Jack: I make quesadillas all the time, but I don't think they're authentic, just my way of making something that resembles them...
2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup of sour cream
1/2 small can of green chillies
as much chopped or shredded cooked chicken as you prefer
package of large flour tortillas
Mix in bowl the top four. Spread the mixture on as many tortillas as it will go over. Top the topped tortillas with another tortilla and bake them until the cheese melts and the top tortilla is getting golden. I don't flip mine.
Variations to this recipe are as vast as can be. Feel free to add more or less chillies, barbeque sauce, salsa, corn, etc. And for our way of eating, I'd also substitute the flour tortillas for ww tortillas if you can find them. Of course, no corn. Be creative and experiment/practice before you decide if you want to cook them for company.

JACK: I just take a flour tortilla, throw it in a warm frying pan, toss stuff on it like cheese, jalapenos, meat and fold it over and press it a bit. Once it gets golden on one side, I flip it over and brown the other side. You can do it with the smaller flour tortillas, or even ww ones, and serve it with guacamole and sour cream on the side. If I am in a hurry and fixing for a group, I use two frying pans. Just increase the temp to make them cook faster if you want to get it done in a hurry. What do you want to serve at Bunco? Finger foods to eat while playing, or do you kind of eat dinner, then play? I would get excited about helping plan a few menus for you if you would find it helpful....
TECH: I like the new avatar! Does your climbing Peace bloom? I had heard its not a very well rated rose. There are a few climbers that do very well, like Joseph's Coat, Don Juan, Dreamweaver, and New Dawn. What color is your miniature rose? I love roses...I have about 60 to 70 in my yard. My Scentimentals are in their first flush and looking incredible. What is funny is I never got around to pruning them! They look better than they ever have too!
COUNTRY: I was wondering if you were hiding! No reason to do that...we love you even if you are cheating...
THIN: They do grow up fast don't they? My older daughter was a dancer. She was very motivated, because she wanted to go on pointe. Once she had her first year on pointe, got the shoes and was able to stand in the middle of the room, she quit! It floored me! I honestly thought she would continue on through high school!
KENG: I am sure it was difficult for you to deal with the thought of sweet Jess getting into a fistfight with a boy. Please forgive me for laughing at the mental picture of it I have! Comfort yourself with the fact that at least she will stand up for herself. The most important thing for you is to teach her to believe in the right things to take a stand for! :) I am glad you had a nice mother's day. How are you feeling? Are you getting big and round? :)

Hi all:
I don't have time for personal replies today. I just want to thank you all so much for the personal stories and the support you have extended. It's so funny how we come here for "diet" support and get so much more. Hugs to
all of you for being so wonderful!!
AND, no we are not Italian. Most Italians I have ever known have had very close relationships...like Hispanics. We are Irish...need I say more? My dad's dad would avoid conflict at any cost; he was a big peace-maker and didn't like anyone to not get along. Unfortunatly, we lost him a few years ago; the world lost one of the best men who ever lived when he passed away. My dad always seems to go along with what my mom thinks/does whether he feels the same way or not. I guess any nationality can have these problems because it boils down to stubborness and people who are not happy unless they make everyone else unhappy. My parents and niece would be happy if the entire world went away and left them alone in their little nutshell.
I'm having a tough day with Lane today; she is being totally defiant. I guess I should use reverse psychology on her because she does the COMPLETE opposite of everything I tell her.
Well, I gotta go get some lunch before we have to go get Britt from school.
I hope you all have a fantastic OP day/week!

Jack: Quesadillas turn out wonderful on a George Foreman, if you have one. I get the smaller wheat tortillas and top with shredded chicken, onions, tomatoes and cheese. I then serve w/ guac and sour cream, and sometimes shredded lettuce. Have fun with it.

Well, so much for being at 161! The weekend wasn't good, but yesterday was horrendous! A total binge that was brought on by stress. Still stressed, but better with my eating today. BF was a protein bar, snack was sf yogurt, lunch was a huge salad made with tuna, veggies, one egg, and a little cheese topped with Ranch. Supper was 2 bowls of chili, one being topped with sour cream, but I did skip the cheese. I hate to know what the scale would read so I'm avoiding it for now. I'm all swollen and puffy, even my toes, so I'm not touching a toe on the scale for another day or so. At least I got my workout in for the day. I skipped yesterday. Those quesadillas sound delicious! Friday, I'll be looking for some legal tortillas, lol. Well, I need to start getting things ready for bed.

I apologize for being MIA yesterday. We had a full evening. Two of Tom's magnolias are in bloom, and I went out and photographed the blossoms. The Big Leaf was difficult for me, as the lowest bloom was about ten feet up and I had to use a ladder. I am definitely afraid of heights, so I am sure the neighbors got a good laugh at me hanging on to the ladder with one arm wrapped around it, and the other one holding the camera out and snapping the shutter. I took about 50 pictures and a few actually turned out good! The Sweet Bay Magnolia was much easier, as the blooms are much lower and I did not need to climb a ladder to get pictures! While I was out there, Laura's cat was hanging around, curious as to what we were doing. James' three kittens were trying to climb the ladder with me too. I got an incredible picture of Laura's cat. Downloading all the pictures off the camera and organizing all my digitals last night took a lot longer than I anticipated, and once I finished, I had no energy left for anything, but to crawl to bed!
Tonight, my daughter and son in law are coming over for dinner, and I am making the same menu from Monday...beef wellingtons in madeira sauce, roasted asparagus, salad, and herbed gold potatoes.
I stepped on the scale this morning, and it was not pretty. I know its water weight, so I am not going to worry about it. Once I get past being so sore, and can start walking again, it will go away, I know.
I am going to go get some breakfast, and will be back later....

I thought I would post a picture of the two magnolias in bloom....and of course the cat...Snidely Whiplash! First is Snidely, then the Big Leaf Magnolia...the blooms are about eight inches tall...then the Sweet Bay Magnolia, which is about four inches across.

Good Morning Ladies
Hope the scale is good to everyone today. Honestly, I got on there and can't remember the number for the life of me. Still above my ticker # and I'm not happy about that.
I haven't felt very well this week. Tummy has been upset and I am so tired. I think my weekend is catching up with me. Unfortunately, the rest of the month is busy, busy.
Thin, glad to see you back on track.
Country, only 2 lbs? Mine was up 10 just from the weekend. Ugh! Stop hiding, we like you here.
Tech, thanks for the recipe. Most of the ones I found on the web didn't include the sour cream in the mixture, just as a topping. Love your new avatar. I like seeing who I am talking to.
Monet, we only talk and eat. We don't play bunco. At the end of the night, we roll around a few times and add up the dice and pass out the prizes. It's like our therapy sessions. I was going with the Mexican theme. Quesadallas, mexican rice and chips, margaritas. I need a dessert yet and I have a new sf dessert I am making. I would love your help, but keep in mind I am kitchen challenged. It would be better if you just came over and fixed the whole thing. I love magnolias. My wedding bouqet was magnolias. I would be nervous on a ladder with a kitten running around.
Ken, Don't worry about Jess, that's better than someone bullying her. At least she stands up for herself. Just has to learn you can't fight and find another way. Glad you had a nice mother's day.
Nat, Lane is probably just trying you on today. Kids like to see how far they can go. Hope today is better for you.
Heart, Hang in there. Your binge eating is adding to your stress. Maybe try to find some other way to vent it. I know easier said then done.
Have a great day.

Beautiful pictures, Monet! I'm trying to get pictures of the birds in my bird feeders, but KUJO keeps chasing them away when I get in the backyard. Just a quick menu posting:
BF: Half a grapefruit, Strawberry/green banana smoothie and three sausage links (I was hungry!)
Lunch: Tuna and some fruit
Dinner: Probably Tilapia and some veggies.
Okay...off to go work on my veggie garden! I bought some green pepper and tomato plants, and I also bought some pea, carrot and radish seeds. I have to actually dig where I want the garden to be as this is the first veggie garden I've had here in my yard. Fun. I can already feel my body aches... :(
Be back later!!

Good afternoon everyone! This week has been hectic...barely got a chance to skim the posts. I am glad to say that I am back on track and have been really watching my carbs. The problem is my energy level is very low and my co-workers find me cranky.
Country Mom- 3 pounds isn't so bad...let's get back on track and next week's WIW will be better!
Tech- Gardening is great exercise. Think of it that way...and soon you will have all those delicious fresh veggies to eat!
JackK- Sorry to hear your stomach is upset. The scale will go back down soon. I was cracking up laughing about your Bunco comments...It's all about the food and drinks. I'm like that too!!!
Monet- Thanks for the pictures!! I always like to read your fancy menus. Probably because my fancy menu consists of Blue Bunny yogurt and a boiled egg.
Pancho- I am glad to see you again! I have missed your posts while I was away from the board. Have you taken any more nutrition classes?
Kenj- I am so excited about your baby. When are you due?
Well, I will check in later. Have a good day!

Ashley: That is definitely the method to the madness...exercise AND fresh produce!! My husband won't know what to do with all the money I save at Price Chopper!! Oh, that and good tomatoes...I hate tomatoes from the store...those "hot house" tomatoes. Gross...I love my red, juicy beefsteak tomatoes fresh from the garden...one thick slice with some mayo and it's a veggie serving for me!!
Crystal: That picture is my wedding picture. It was my first (AND ONLY) wedding, but I'd seen so many people spend gazillions of dollars on weddings and put no effort into their marriage, I decided to scrap big wedding plans and go casual...I was only as dressed up as I was because my mother made me wear a dress...I really wanted to wear jeans like DH. This was taken at my mom's house on the beach I grew up on, on my river. :D You can have Bermuda...I'll take Sand Bay N E Day!!
Jack: The sour cream makes it a little more sauce-like on the inside of the quesadilla. I love them...but I've never been able to find ww tortillas. There is a health food store in Watertown, but usually when I'm there, I'm in a hurry and I don't want to spend the time. Hope you're feeling better soon!!
Monet: I've been collecting water, myself. Last night during story time with the kids, I was sitting indian-style (oops...I think that PI...I guess it's pretzel legged now ;) ) and when I got up, where my sneaker was pinned under my shin had this giant dent in it and my daughter freaked out, so I rode it and acted freaked out (a little), too and pushed my finger in right above it and made a hole. She looked at me like I was from outer space and I started laughing and told her it was water retention and said i've had it ever since I was PG for her...and thanked her. I used to entertain myself poking holes in my mother's shins and making dents...what can I say...it was 1975 B.C. (Before Cable!!) I had to be creative in finding things to do...
Laurie: I think you should take up a needle craft hobby...crocheting, knitting, needlepoint...so when you get stressed, you can busy your hands so they aren't looking for food. Or maybe get a good book that will help to take your mind off the stress-inducing incident. I mean, you look fantabulous no matter if you gain a couple of pounds or not, but you have lost so much and have worked so hard, you have to find a better outlet for your stress. Easier said than done, but get back on the wagon with us and stay there!! :D
Nat: Bribery...reverse psychology...whatever works to get your kids to do what you want them to do...I'm behind you 100%!! ;)
Okay...that's all the time I have for replies. The garden is coming along. I'm doing the hard part, turning over the grass and knocking the sod out of the roots. Bleh...I hate this part!! A few more rows, though, and I think I'll be ready to plant!!
I changed my mind on lunch today...I needed something with a little more substance, so I had a swiss grilled cheese on 7 grain bread, cantaloupe, a kiwi and some grapes. And lots of water. Will be having Tilapia for dinner and probably peas and summer squash. I'm getting low on veggies, but it's off to Price Chopper for me tomorrow!!
Talk to you guys later!! Kris

well i think im finally feeling better :) my scale said 184 this morning but im happy cause ive been up at 185 since i got sick :( im sure that tomorrow i will be better...but im glad im not the only one having issues with the scale  im really hungry so i think im going to have a tuna sandwhich (i finally bought some more wheat bread)
i went to the doc about 2 months ago for my bi-annual pap and she was a little concerned about some discharge i was having and gave me some suppository cream that i was supposed to use for 7 days......i saw it last night unopened :| so i started using it .... lol i have no idea why i havent used it before (other then the fact that i hate to take ANY medication and probably blocked it out of my mind  )
our car dealer is having a sale where we can trade in our car and theyll pay it off and we can get a 2006.....so we're going to check it out tomorrow i think...kevin really loves this car, and we only got it a couple months ago, but we are having so much trouble with it ever since we brought it home.
Monet: i love those pictures :)
Tech: LOL i remember those PC days....it amazes me now that kids are so dependant on the TV to keep busy....im just glad that my kids are still able to play by themselves most of the time...although devon is starting to get hooked on the xbox and so can only play once in a GREAT while.....
um....i know there are more replies...but my house is a disaster because it didnt get cleaned while i was sick (of course) so i need to get busy.

Man, I hate crows! There are about four of them clucking outside my window and dive bombing at one of the cats. They must have a nest around the front yard somewhere....
Laura informed me I have to leave the house for two hours this afternoon. She is probably going to clean for tonight's "Mother's Day" celebration. I just got out of the shower, and I am going to go assemble the beef wellingtons, then leave when she gets home from her final. I wish she would just let me lock myself in my room and take a nap....but I guess I will wander over to the outside mall near us and go to Barnes and Noble and drink Starbucks and read.
I used my Amazon gift certificate today...I ordered a wheeled stand for my archery target. I can't wait for it to get here! I can shoot my new arrows finally! I will also be able to count it as exercise, since it works the arms and chest muscles really well! :)
Ok, gotta go finish up so I can leave.

Not much to report, still hanging on to some major fluid that is being a major pain in the butt. I had to take my dogs to the vet today, they have MANGE! Cost me $92 and they both have to go back in 2 weeks. Anyway, I was just looking thru my recipes and came across a couple I haven't used in awhile. Think I will cook the crustless spinach quiche this weekend. And I'll be looking for some ww tortillas now that you guys have me wanting quesadillas, lol.
PANCHO- Didn't you say you had the Power 90? How do you like it? I'm thinking about ordering it because I'm tired of all mine and it's suppossed to be an intense workout that only takes 35 minutes. Today, I didn't have time for much so I did Leslie Sansone's Walk and Kick video which is around 30 minutes. Pretty good, but it just doesn't have that intensity that I'm looking for or the specific toning, etc.
Well, I need to go...

Dinner tonight went well. We had a magnum bottle of Pinot Noir, and I had entirely too much. I have been rather inebriated tonight...I am usually very conservative with drinking, so one large glass of wine gives me a buzz...two large glasses makes me rather silly...which is where I am now. :)
Dinner was Beef Wellington, roasted asparagus, spring salad mix with grape tomatoes, herbed potatoes, Pinot Noir, and strawberries on angel food cake with whipped cream for dessert. Lunch was a ham sandwich with sprouts on ww wheat.
I need to go crawl in bed! Night!

Gosh, its slow! Where is everyone? I have had a lazy morning. I got back in bed and slept another hour or two. I just woke James up, so he is late for work. He told me about how their work schedule goes, and why they don't care if he works a later shift, so I feel better about his being late now. :) (often a big order will come in at 5 that has to be processed before morning, and if he is working later, it helps)
Breakfast was three bacon, three eggs and a diet coke with splenda. Not sure about what to have for lunch, but tonight is a leadership dinner at church, so I have NO idea what they are serving.

Good Morning Ladies,
I'm in a giddy mood today. Don't know why. In fact I was exhausted last night and could hardly finish watching CSI, went to bed at 11, and at 12 I was still awake, but I am not tired today.
I haven't reported, but I have gotten my wts in everyday this week. I throughout the day (everytime I go to the bathroom) I do wall squats on the doors. We have good doors here and I can't do them at home. Also added leg lefts (2 different types) every night. I know you can't spot reduce, but I have to do something about this butt and hips. I can't wear any of my capris from last year.
I finished the blanket I was making for a young girl that is graduating. The party is Sunday so I finished just in time. I hope she likes it. It is the school's logo. In fact, I made 2, one for another girl that lived with my DD. I like it better than giving money.
Tech, I wish I had a place to plant a garden. But then, it's all I can do to take care of my flowers in the yard. Have fun. Check around, I have found several low carb tortillas that are ww. Just wish I could find ww hamburger buns and hotdog buns. You would have a ball with my legs. I'm full of water and some would say full of s**t.
Country, let's thrown that scale out the window, want too?
Ashley, tell your co-workers you will be even more cranky if you gain weight. Withdrawl is tough. Your menues sound like mine. Very boring.
Sebray, glad you are feeling better. Maybe we should all set a pack and stay off the scale for a week. At least we would like ourselves better.
Monet, man I wish someone would clean my house for MD. Mine is a disaster since we were gone all last weekend. Got to sneak it in this weekend sometime. I miss angel food cake  Are the diet cokes with splenda any good? I saw them advertised but haven't tried them.
Heart, keep drinking and add some lemon to your water, that may help with the retention. How about some decaf or regular ice tea. I think that is a diuretic too. Bummer about the Vet bill. Cars, insurance and vets. I hated spending money on them. Used to be underwear too, but now I like buying pretty underwear.
Bob, are you back to work yet? Hope you are feeling better. Ever hear from Deb?
Need to get busy. Have a great day.

Wow, only 3 pages of posts, and it's Thursday. I know I am guilty; I haven't been on much this week. I didn't even turn on my computer yesterday; it keeps me from getting things done. I had to change everyone's bedding, dust, vacuum, clean bathromms, etc....I've put some of it off for too long.
WIW...I was at 119.5#, but am at 121.5# this morning. I went to a post Cince De Mayo celebration with my Mom's Club last night and ate fajitas, beans, rice, chips, dessert...you get the picture?
I did get to the gym Monday and Wednesday, and plan to go tomorrow morning and Saturday. It feels good to get back into it after missing two weeks. My butt is a little sore today from the lunges.
JackieO: So good to see you posting. It sounds like you have been doing great with all that exercise. It's hard to cut the carbs when you've been using them for fuel. I have not taken anymore nutrition classes lately, but would like to take another one. I might check the summer session and see what is open.
Heart: I do not have the Power 90, but I think it sounds like an awesome workout. Have you ever checked out the message boards over there at beachbody.com? They have a lot of valuable info., and you can see all the results people have gotten from that program. My problem is that I never do those programs as recommended because I just use them to fill-in with my regular workouts. I think to get the best results, it would be best to do no other workout except for what they recommend on the program. I think it is too easy to overtrain and hinder your results. If you do get it, I'd love to know what you think of it.
Jack: You s/b proud of your dedication to working out lately; you've been doing awesome. The blanket sounds like a great gift!
Monet: I tried the Diet Coke w/splenda, and don't care for it. I like regular Diet Coke better, but don't really care much for it either. If I have a diet coke, I prefer Cherry Vanilla or Dr. Pepper. I'm glad the dinner went well; do you have a mini hangover this a.m.? I loved the pictures you posted.
Sebray: I am glad you are feeling better. I am the same way about meds. I did not want to take this antibiotic, but felt like I was gonna die if I didn't. Then, I got this bacterial infection which the gynecologist gave me cream for, which has done nothing. SO, I have been using this cream every day for five days and it did nothing to help, and who knows how bad that stuff is to put down there in the first place. I hope the scale stays down for you, and continues in that direction.
Lane needs me, so I gotta run. Hello to everyone I didn't get to respond to! I will check in later.

Confession time! I met Tom for lunch. We went to a little cozy local place run by an older woman. Its only open at lunch, and at night there are cooking classes, and once a month a seven course dinner. You can also rent the place for parties. I loved it! Its just the kind of place I would love to have! Anyway, I got a luncheon special- gazpacho, broccoli quiche, and double chocolate tart. I ate it all. The tart was a very fudgy brownie consistency and definitely not legal. I want to go back and try something else next time. They have all kinds of sandwiches, and homemade whole wheat bread. (yes, I know...I should have behaved and had that today...)
I need to go prepare Tom's smoothies for tomorrow. We have to go to a dinner at church tonight, so I need to do it before we have to leave. Tomorrow, I am detoxing. (NO comment, Techwife! )
I can't believe its almost Friday! This week just flew!

I just wanted to let you know that I posted the recipe for the Spinach-Beef Spaghetti pie on the recipe board. You can make it with ground turkey, as well.
Monet: How do you make a smoothie today that still tastes edible tomorrow? Inquiring minds want to know? Lunch sounds yummy, bad girl! ;)
Gotta run,

Hey, guys. Today has been pretty boring. Still hanging on to this stupid fluid, doesn't help that TOM is around the corner. My exercise hasn't been the best this week, but better than nothing. Monday I didn't do anything. Tuesday I had my church workout, Wednesday I only did a 30 minute one, then today I did the 2 mile walk but I do teach exercise tonight so maybe that will balance things out. I plan on doing Taebo tomorrow morning. PANCHO- Yes, I know that the results are from following it like they say(everyday). I simply CAN NOT do that. Number one, I get bored easily doing the same thing, and number 2, there is no way that I could do the Burn it Up on a daily basis. Have you tried that one? Brutal! I wouldn't recommend doing that one daily to anyone. I like having different videos so that I can switch it up. I'm always looking for something new so that I can teach it at my class.
Monet- Your supper last night sounded wonderful. Made me laugh since I actually dreamed about strawberry shortcake last night(how sad is that?!). I woke up this morning and was like yea, I can have that! They make sf strawberry glaze. Then I realized they don't have a legal cake to serve it on. I got a little sad, lol.
Alright, my menu:
BF- leftover bowl of chili(yea I know)
Lunch- a big bowl of steamed veggies topped with a slice of cheese. Also had 1/2 a cuke sliced and a LC yogurt.
Supper- making meatloaf, squash and zuchinni, cabbage, and rice for the rest of the clan
Jack-k- I absolutely HATE when my clothes don't fit(like right now).
Alright, going to check out Blockbuster online...

I am such a bum lately...thousand apologies :) The warm weather is starting to get to me but I am not complaining yet. Jess has a Spring Program at her school tonight and the teacher told me that her class will be participating in some singing so I am really surprised. I thought it was meant for older kids. Anyway, I am going to her school tonight with some neighbors. Can't wait to see those little "monkeys" sing...lol.
Yesterday, dh took a day off so we were out running errands etc plus I spent the whole morning browsing at some armoires at some furniture stores. I didn't find anything I like so the search is still on.
Eating has been back on track mostly. My menu for today is :
Breakfast : 1 ww waffle, 1 fried egg, 2 small sausages and 1 cup of soymilk.
Snack : Mixed fruits in some plain yogurt.
Lunch : Baked cod with crabmeat, sauteed mixed veggies of fennel, onion, green bell-pepper and squash, ww ravioli in pesto sauce.
Snack : 1 cup of soymilk and maybe some fruits.
Dinner : Not exactly sure yet but it will be something simple and easy since I had to take Jess to school. Maybe some leftovers from today and yesterday.
I do not have time to do replies now since I need to get Jess ready, starting from her bath, dinner and then change of clothes. Will try to log on tonight and do some replies. Good day everyone!!

PANCHO: I use Designer Whey- 1 and a half scoops- 1 cup of milk, and in one I put 1 Tablespoon of olive oil, in the other about 6 frozen strawberries. He drinks the olive oil one for breakfast and takes the strawberry one for a mid afternoon snack. He shakes it up and drinks it...it sounds yucky to me, but he likes it. He is the type that likes to have the same thing all the time, except at dinner, so he has been having the same smoothies for breakfast and snack for a few years now. I probably should do that...find something that works and stick to it. All the variety I have probably is what gets me into trouble. :s:
HEART: I don't use strawberry glaze for shortcakes. I just slice the berries, and toss them with a bit of granulated fructose or a squirt of agave, and let them sit for 15 minutes. Some juice comes out of them, and its enough for us. You could make a short cake with whole wheat pastry flour and use fructose or agave in it, to make it just a bit on the sweet side, and use it for strawberry shortcakes. If you don't have the time to play with a recipe, let me know and I will figure out one for you that is legal. :) I would like having one too! Then I could have it without feeling guilty.
KENG: Have you thought about checking out the Super H mart near Gwinnett Place? They have tilapia for $1.99 a pound this week! Their fish is really inexpensive...sole filets are $3.99, shrimp is $3.99...they have all kinds of stuff I have never heard of, but you probably know if they are good...like butter fish?? I love how reasonable their produce is too. They have a web page - http://www.hmart.com/ Let me know what you think! Its easy to get to...just go north on 85, and get off at Pleasant Hill, go left for about 2 miles and its on the right. Its HUGE! :) I hope Jess' program goes well tonight! Enjoy!

Monet: I used to like to go to a place like you described in Rochester called the Lavender Blue Teahouse. It was run by an English woman and the tea was awesome, the shepherd's pie was awesome, the cucumber sandwich tray with lots of puffy pastries was awesome. I LOVED going there. She had an old-fashioned English garden to walk through on the way in. If you ignored the mall it was across the street from, you'd think you were going for tea in some English country mansion.
Oh...my...gosh...I am having the best legal dinner I"ve had in a long time. I took two pieces of 7-grain bread and toasted it twice to make it really brittle..then I mashed it in a plastic bag and made bread crumbs from it. I took a Tilapia filet and dredged it through a beaten egg and then coated it with the bread crumbs (complete with sesame seeds!) and fried it in olive oil! I drizzled some lemon juice on it and it is sooooo good!! It's like...a legal fish fry!! And I'm having it with a romaine salad with green peppers, tomatoes, cukes, sweet onions and black olives. Oh, and 1000 Islands dressing...which is named for the area I live in, by the way. It was created in a hotel in the town that Viggo's mom lives in (Clayton). My DD goes to 1000 Islands Central Schools...isn't that a cool name? ;) I used to have friends that went to TI and I was so jealous.
Anyhow...for lunch I had two slices of ham rolled up wiht muenster cheese and mustard with a kiwi. For breakfast I had three sausages and an apple. I had to eat on the fly because today was shopping day for me and I wanted to get on the road. My mom is back in town and she goes with me when she's here...soon I'll have DD in the van with me, too, for the summer, then in the fall, DD goes back to school and its down to just me and DS and my mom...then she goes back to FL and then it's back down to just me and DS. Seriously, I'm soooo dreading the day I go without him in my shopping cart. :(
Okay..I have to finish my salad and down a 20 oz water!! Will do more replies later..

Just got in from the dinner at church. They had Italian...so there was chicken piccata, lasagna, tortellini, rolls and salad, with red wine and all kinds of rich desserts. I had too much of everything. Tomorrow, its back to the straight and narrow for me, kicked off by a few days of detox lemonade diet.
I am so very tired, I am not going to get to replies tonight... big hugs to you all, and I will check in tomorrow and do a real post! :)

Well, it may have just been pre-coffee...but I stepped on the scale this morning and I swear it was just a hair over the 160 mark. I'll change my tickers if it's that same tomorrow morning. If I see the scale in the 150's, I think I might faint!! That would be an all time low this millenium!! :D
I walked and walked and walked yesterday. I went to pick up DD with DS and Kujo (Junior) and realized that she was staying late for Art Club, so we went to the post office, got the mail and then came home, picked up old library books and walked to the library and got new ones and then home. Wow...and this after I grocery shopped, too.!! And my menu was all on plan, even water...except for the half dozen or so Chips Ahoy I had after everyone went to bed...washed it down with 20oz of water...
Okay...will post again later on. Kris
OH...and the other day it was like 85 outside and I put on my shorts from last summer and they were BIG!! That is also a new first for me...every year I've been getting bigger and bigger and loosing close to 20lbs is definitely showing in my wardrobe. Yay!!

Happy Friday!
Thank goodness it is here. It's been a busy week but always glad for the weekend to arrive.
Oldest DD graduates with her masters tomorrow. We will go out to dinner after that. Sunday we have another graduation party to go to. In fact, we have one every week until June 11th.
Nat, your Mom's club dinner sounded like fun. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
Heart, You are getting lots of exercise. I need to get into an aerobic class or something. Walking is not enough. I dream about eating food all the time. I am relieved to wake up and find that I really did not eat it.
Monet, Milk and olive oil? That does not sound good. So they are not frozen when he drinks them right? I would eat a nice dinner too if I had detox to look forward to the next day. I love quaint places like that. We have one here too that is only open for lunch. It is in the middle of about 5 little stores, dolls, clothes,
Ken, I remember all those school programs. The little ones are so cute and the big ones so don't want to be there.
Tech, I never thought about toating the bread and using it as bread crumbs, thanks for the idea. That would work on chicken too. Like chicken parmigian. I love fish and don't mind eating it not breaded or fried. But love it fried too. 20 lbs will make a big diffrence in your clothes. Wish I was seeing the 150 numbers again. Instead none of my clothes are fitting this year. I have the cutest capris that I wore last summer that are 8's. No way will I get back in them with this butt and hips.
Bob, any that are legal? How about the peach-orange pleasure or strawberry orange?
Got to run, be back later.

I just wanted to drop a quick line and tell you all that last week at our local Kroger they had sugar free angelfood cake by the strawberries, shortcakes, glaze etc. It was pretty good! My 10 yr old daughter Rachel loved it. We had strawberries and a little cool whip with it. My husband had a little piece with some orange lite yogurt one night. He added in a little cool whip with that too and it tasted like a creamsicle. YUM! :T
Well I need to go do some work now and earn my keep around here! :p
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Just wondering...I've been hearing a lot about strawberry shortcake and I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried just rinsing off the cut-up strawberries and putting splenda on them, then letting them sit for a bit in the fridge. It makes a juice kind of thing. When I was growing up , we always had strawberry shortcake and my mom just put sugar on them and stirred them up, let them sit and poured them on the cakes. AND, what about using some sort of WW flour and making real biscuits? Then there's the cool whip...I'm sure they must make some sort of SF cool whip.
Okay...just my thoughts..Kris

Good morning...
This week sure flies by. Today is yet another warm day and I think dd and I will stay at home. Our church has a cookout for the preschoolers this evening but I am not sure we will be going. I am just going to sit back and relax today, if that's possible :)
My menu :
Breakfast : 2 medium ww pancakes, scrambled eggs with cheese and 1/2 cup of soymilk.
Snack : Fruit salad in plain yogurt.
Lunch : I am going to make chicken breast but not sure how yet, a starch and veggies. My planning is overly poor today :(
Snack : Fruits in plain yogurt.
Dinner : Again, not sure what yet but should be legal.
Some replies :
THIN : Looks like the next few weeks will be busy for you and not to mention emotional. I watched my 4 year old on stage for the first time yesterday and my emotions were running high. I cannot imagine how I would be able to control myself when she graduates from Kingergarten...LOL. Kids grow way too fast, don't they?
COUNTRYMOM : Glad you are back on track. I haven't been too good myself but getting better everyday :)
MONET : Honestly, when dd showed me how she fist fight with the boy at school, I had a good laugh too but of course it wasn't funny when we received the behavior report...lol. Anyway....kids...I am still learning so much about them and one of the things is that I need to take it easy or I may never live to see them graduate...lol. I am feeling very good actually. Little "junior" (that's what we call him right now but will not be his real name) is having such fun time doing his active movements in my tummy. I am glad as I know he is okay :)
HEARTMOM : Hope you are feeling much less stress today. I know it is impossible to be stressfree (at least for me) but hope it has been under control by now. {{{hugs}}
MONET : The magnolias are beautiful. I have one of those (the bigger flower) but it doesn't grow too tall. It is starting to flower too. However, it is such a waste that the flowers doesn't last long enough for me to enjoy them. I am looking forward to get some daylilies soon. Love them! So, was the house cleaned when you got home? That was sure a good mother's day present :) Thanks for the website for Super H. I have not heard of this store. Will check out the website soon.
JACK : Are you feeling better? Hope you manage to get some good rest now and coming weekend.
JACKIE-O : I am due in early Sept and it's a boy! I am going to cherish my remaining few months I have with my daughter. I know things are going to change for her and me as well. Oh...I am as cranky as I can be too...especially when I don't sleep well. Have you been sleeping good?
TECH : Dh and I did not have any actual wedding or reception. Our wedding pics were taking at the commissioner house where she took our wedding vows...lol. Dh and I were in such casual clothes...lol. I do miss the chance to see myself in a nice wedding gown. It's like you get to be the queen of the day :) Maybe we might do the "10-years" wedding vows...maybe :)
SEBRAY : Glad you are feel better. Oh poor thing, hoope the A/C get fixed soon. It is getting really warm here so I knowhow miserable it can be without an A/C. {{{hugs}}}
PANCHO : I have been such a lazy bum lately but hope to get out of it soon. Glad you had a fun time at your mom's club gathering.
BOB : Glad you are feeling much better. Wow....that is a lot of smoothies and some sure sound funny :) I love smoothies but first I need to buy a new blender since my last one was broken.
That's it for now. Good day everyone!

I just got back from doing my volunteer stint at the church office. I am feeling a bit run down, so I think I will crawl into bed with a book and rest some this afternoon. Tom has given me a list of stuff that needs doing, but I don't feel like 'doing' today!
KENG: No, unfortunately, they did not get ANY cleaning done while I was gone. I think she planned to, but her final took longer than she thought it would. :(
TECH: I just cut up strawberries and toss them with a bit of agave or fructose, but I have used splenda too. If the berries are nice and ripe, I have even had them with no sweetner on them at all, and they are delicious. A ww biscuit with some agave or splenda in it would be perfect, which is the recipe I was thinking of playing with. As for topping, just use whipped cream in a can. It has very little sugar in it and is natural and so much better for you than all those weird chemicals they put in cool whip....
Maybe I will skip the book and take a nap...I am that tired right now! :)

It's finally Friday! Yea!
Well, my health update is.....the gel that they gave me for the bacterial infection gave me a yeast infection. I have never had one of these before, and it is pretty gross! I started the first of 7 treatments last night, and hope this will be the end of this horrible ordeal. I started taking the acidophilus as soon as I started the antibiotic, but I guess the antibiotic was pretty powerful and then this gel just added to it, and voila...now the yeast. Isn't it best to stay away from beer, bread, sugar, etc...when you have a yeast infection? Not that I really have much of any of these, but just wanted to know.
I was at 121# today, so it may take awhile to lose all this mexican food weight that I've gained in the past week  . I did not go to the gym this morning; I didn't want to sweat too much with this infection. I think I will go tomorrow though, and just bring a change of clothes, and change as soon as I finish working out, so I'm not wearing anything that stays damp. I then have to go by the community center and enroll the kids in some summer classes.
I am home waiting for the bugman to come spray the exterior of the house. We found an organic company, and they only have to come every other month instead of every month since their natural stuff works better than the poisons that most companies use. However, there is nothing that kills those pesky scorpions; we just have to kill off their food source so they won't hang around. We found the first one in the house the other night. They are nasty and I don't want the kids or dogs around them. We might have a really bad year with them since we had so much rain. I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed.
Heart: I hear ya! I take a little bit from every video and incorporate some into my workouts. I even take my resistance band to the gym and do the upper body workout from Slim in 6. It is easy to get bored with the same workout, and that is why many people stop working out. Variety is the key, and that is what keeps us motivated. I like Tae-bo too, and still do that on occasion. Beachbody used to have a video (they might still have it) called Thin Thighs; it was part of the Great Abs series, but you could buy it separate. It was only about 20 minutes, and concentrated only on your legs and butt in sectional progression. Oh My Gosh...OUCH! I remember the next day, I could hardly walk. My sister did it with me. She has stairs in her house and had to slide down them for a few days because she was too sore to walk down them. It is an awesome lower body workout, and could be added to any cardio routine.
Ken: I am sure Jess' program was precious! Have a nice relaxing day!
Monet: That is so funny...why are men like that? My DH ate the same cereal (cinnamon Life) for years, until I stopped buying it. He had to eat what was on sale when I bought it. He still will choose a bowl of any cereal over toast, oatmeal, pancakes, bacon & eggs, etc... He would eat the same thing for lunch for months without any complaints. I need some variety. Once you start alowing yourself those indulgences one leads to another, and it's tough to get back on track. Remember how dedicated you were to the fast, and don't let that weight come back. Good luck getting back on the right track.
Tech: Dinner sounds good, but I don't like Tilapia. I don't like much in the seafood arena. I like Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Salmon and swordfish, but that's about it. And keep that Shrimp, lobster, crab legs, etc...away! Do you just eat your 3 meals or do you snack too? I hope you see those 150's tomorrow. You are doing so well!
BOB: I'm glad you are feeling better. I hope you continue to feel well. The book sounds great. Wow, what a lot of great recipes. Let us know as you try them.
Sebray: I hope you get your a/c fixed soon; that is the worst! Hang in there.
Well, I better go check on Lane.
Have a great OP weekend.

Jack: Congrats to DD!!! Try to be good during those celebrations this weekend, but also have fun!
Thin: I think that my Fry's store is the same as Kroger. They also make pies in the bakery that are SF, and they use fruit concentrates instead of any sugar substitutes. I have tried the cherry one and it was great! I think the crust is enriched, but for a once inawhile treat, it isn't so bad.
Gotta run!

Just a quick check before I head out for the weekend.
It is 87 today but rain is coming tonight and it will cool off (70's) next week.
I don't mind the 87 though.
Thin, thanks for the heads up about the ssf anglefood cake. I will definately look for it.
Tech, I use the splenda on the strawberries if I want juice. But most of the time I don't add anything, they are sweet enough. I would love a recipe for ww bisquits. I love bisquits and miss them terribly. Plus they take time.
Ken, glad you are making time for you and resting. Have a great weekend.
Monet, I will check out the whipped cream in the can. I thought it was full of sugar. I always get the sf cool whip. Hope you enjoyed your nap.
Nat, not only being bored with the exercise, you need to change it every month or so, so your muscles don't get used to the same thing. Yuck on the yeast infection. I have only had one in my life and that was 22 years ago. Not fun. But I think the treatments are better now days. Hope it clears up quickly.
have a great weekend, Talk to you gals Monday.

Yesterday we went to mama's so I didnt' get a chance to get online. We finally found some tahini. Trust me when you don't even know what something is it's ten times harder to find...LOL Only one store in town has it that we know of. I used it in my hummus today and it was nice. I think the flavor is good with or with it out. The texture was really nice this time. I'm not sure if it's the new blender or the tahini.
Poncho...we had a couple of scorpions one year. The exterminator told us to keep the grass cut real low around the house. They will climb up the blades and get in. My sister moved to a dryer part of Texas and she had a ton of them in her new house...agh.
Jack-K....I agree about throwing the scales out but I'd probably go through withdrawls if I couldn't torture myself a couple of times a day by weighing. :)
Monet....hope you get a nice rest this afternoon. Your day out with Tom sounded just lovely.
Julia...I've had my moments also. It's getting hot here also. I hope the summer is pretty mild this year for you.
Tech....I just add the splenda to the strawberries. Woo hoo you'll see the 150's any day now.
Howdy Bob. ((hugzz))
Sorry I can't get to everyone I'm way behind with my chores.
Love and hugs,
Crystle

I went to Harry's/Whole Foods tonight. Something I have had before that they carry is brown rice chips, by Eden Foods. They are just brown rice, rice bran, nori and sea salt. They are fried, then spun to use centrifugal force to extract all the extra oil. They are really good, but addictive...
BOB: Xantham and guar are vegetable gums, used to thicken. I imagine they are in that recipe to give it thickness and body. They are lower carb than cornstarch, so popular in low carb recipes.

Afternoon ALL YOU BUSTIN BUDDYS!!!
I got this in my email this morning and can't not share!!! All you Ladies with LITTLE GIRLS have this to look forward to!!
A mother is driving her little girl to her friend's house for a play date.
"Mommy, how old are you?" the little girl asks.
"Honey, you are not supposed to ask a lady her age," the mother replies. "It's not polite."
"OK," the little girl says, "but how much do you weigh?"
"Now really," the mother says, "these are personal questions and are none of your business."
Undaunted, the little girl asks, "Why did you and Daddy get a divorce?"
"That is enough questions, young lady -- honestly!"
The exasperated mother drives away as the two friends begin to play.
"My Mom won't tell me anything about herself," the little girl says to her friend.
"Well," says the friend, "all you need to do is look at her driver's license. It is like a report card and has everything on it."
Later that night, the little girl says to her mother, "I know how old you are; you are 32."
The mother is surprised and asks, "How did you find that out?"
"I also know that you weigh 140 pounds."
The mother is past surprised and is now shocked.
"How in heaven's name did you find that out?"
"And," the little girls says triumphantly, "I know why you and Daddy got a divorce."
"Oh, really?" the mother asks. "Why?"
"Because you got an F in sex!"
Have a GREAT DAY!!!

Hey MONET....
If I don't have the above ingredients, IF....I put a few ice cubes in the blender, will that be enough to thicken the drink?

Hey, BOB...I sometimes use half a green banana to thicken up a shake or smoothie. I use ice cubes, too, unless I"m using frozen blueberries, then I consider that my ice.
Yummy!! I just made a neat little lunch thing. I sometimes make ham or turkey rolls, where I take a slice or two (depending on how thick the deli slicedit for me) and roll it up with some cheese and some black olives. Well, today I browned them in olive oil! Sooo good!! Then ended up looking a little like spring rolls.
Okay...I don't know where everyone is today...but it's the weekend and it's family time. Will do replies later if time allows...

I made sausage biscuits for James this morning...he keeps them in the freezer to grab for breakfast. I got 11 packages of four in there... I cleaned the kitchen some, checked the pool and in a few minutes I am going to go fix a few smoothies to put in the fridge for Tom, who is working on, what else? the plumbing!
BOB: Just omit the gum. I don't think it will change the end result that much. You can always add a few extra frozen peach slices. If you use yogurt, stir it, let it sit, then skim off some of the liquid that separates. That will help thicken it too. :)

EVENING ALL YOU BUSTIN BEAUTYS!!!
Just got home from a wedding shower. Had a good time, only had one glass of the bubbly, the food wasn't hard to get around. They had a meat and cheese platter, so I had some roast beef, turkey, a piece of ham, some cheese.....AND THEN.....they brought out the cake! I swear, the dang thing weighed 25lbs! I had a small piece....not sweet at all...it was a chocolate-raspberry....and OH....MY....GAWD!!!! It was so good! The icing shocked me....very rich, not sweet, chucked full of raspberries....It was made at a gourmet bakery and I bet y'all ....well....if I had to guess, I bet it cost $100!
The wedding is this coming Saturday and I'll see if I can get someone to snap BOB'S picture...
Couldn't go to sleep last night...so I was up watching movies...IN GOOD COMPANY...very cute...HAIR SHOW...very funny....SUSPECT ZERO...YUCK!!!
SURVIVOR FINALE TONIGHT!!!!! Can't wait...I'm going to get fluffed up in the four poster, but I'll set the VCR just in case I fall asleep!
