Weight Loss Support - Woohoo! I exercised today! (post your daily exercise here!)

05-04-2005, 07:05 PM
I would like to start a thread where we in Support can post our daily exercise! :D

~35 minutes of strength training

~1 hour of belly dancing (my weekly private lesson)

05-04-2005, 08:16 PM
I went for a 45 minute walk today

05-04-2005, 08:52 PM
Well I'll chime in - today I walked for an hour. Getting ready to do about 15 minutes of hand weights.

05-05-2005, 07:12 AM
Just finished 30 mins of step cardio here :)

05-05-2005, 09:22 AM
Good job ladies! :) Fabulous!

05-05-2005, 10:09 AM
Yesterday I did 20-30 minutes of Toning for Teens, lower body. Today's upper body.

05-05-2005, 07:35 PM
I jogged for 30 minutes today.

05-05-2005, 07:42 PM
I walked for 30 minutes today on the treadmill :tread: . Would have done more but not feeling so great. Curves yesterday.

05-05-2005, 09:09 PM
Today I did 20 min of boot camp cardio, 25 minute full body strength, and went for a 20 min walk.

05-06-2005, 10:08 AM
Yesterday (Thursday) I did:

~Leslie Sansone "The Strength Walk" 20 minutes
(1 mile walk with 2 pound weights for upper body)

~20 minutes yoga

Today is my strength training day...I'll report back in a while after I do it. :)

05-06-2005, 11:46 AM
I met a friend at the gym and we lifted weights for 1 hour concentrating on lower body. Then I did 20 min on the crosstrainer. It's so much more fun when I lift with someone else. We talk and laugh about other things, and the time flies. Plus, we encourage each other to go a bit heavier with weights and sets.... :dizzy:

I've committed myself to 6 workouts per week and have been able to maintain this since January 7th of this year. I've got a lot to lose and I am focused on doing whatever I can to get there!!!!

05-06-2005, 10:56 PM
I put in 30-45 mins (lost track of time) of lower body weight lifting earlier today.

It wasn't a great work out because I was really tired... but at least I got up and did somethin' :)

05-06-2005, 11:24 PM
1/2 hour rowing
1 hour elliptical
and then I decided to walk to work, figured it would be 30 minutes but turned out to take 45 walking briskly, I arrived exactly on time though I'd rather get there early.
cheers, Sue

05-06-2005, 11:36 PM
strength training:
30 minutes abs and lower back
20 minutes lower body
10 minutes upper body

1 hour total

05-08-2005, 01:38 AM
No formal exercise today, but I went to a festival today and walked practically every street in Holland, Michigan about three times or more. I think that counts...

05-08-2005, 12:10 PM
Yesterday (Saturday) I did 45 minutes of yoga, and then I "trooped" in costume for about 4 hours for a local comic book promotion.

05-08-2005, 07:39 PM
A good day, after a long plateau I'm down a couple of pounds to 152 - 140s are in sight and that hasn't been the case for 25 years!
30 min rowing
30 min crosstrainer
30 min bike

05-08-2005, 10:51 PM
An hour and ten minutes of fast walking in my neighborhood. Seems to really be doing the trick.

05-09-2005, 10:52 AM
Yesterday (Sunday):

walked 1 mile

had bellydance troupe rehearsal-about 1 hour of actual dancing

05-09-2005, 11:03 AM
Yesterday, I cut down a tree with a bow saw (ie, hand saw). Ok, it was an 8 yr old softwood, so not that big a tree, but it took me a good 2hrs to saw up the trunk into fireplace size pieces, and to snip off all the little branches etc - judging by the way I feel this morning, I did get a good workout! Plus, at the end of it, I have one less ugly tree & space to plant a nice tree. Since I have 10 acres of scrub to clear, I figure that by the end of the summer, I'm going to look damn hot in a tank top!

05-09-2005, 04:06 PM
I went to the gym on Mother's Day! Yep, after dealing with the committments of the day, I headed out but found that my workout buddy didn't make it. Initially, I was disappointed, but I made a point of working out harder and pushing myself with weights. Had a great workout and it was great to have most of the gym to myself!

Focused and ready to work!

05-09-2005, 07:15 PM
Today's exercise:

~Walked 2 miles
~30 minutes of strength training

05-09-2005, 08:13 PM
I went to curves 30 minutes.

05-09-2005, 10:31 PM
35 minutes elliptacle cross training and 30 minutes of strenght training lifting 16000+ tonight.

05-09-2005, 11:46 PM
I went for a 30 minute walk at lunch time with a co-worker, but I wasn't up to working out tonight. Not enough sleep last night, and my back was hurting more than normal.

05-10-2005, 12:31 AM
Thursday and Friday was Curves, something new I started. Then I did my normal WATP video on Saturday. Sunday, I thought I'd try a light jog and see how it went. Though the baby sits on my bladder and I immediately felt I needed a bathroom break LOL, I pressed on. I slowly jogged for a mile and walked another half mile. Then I did Curves again today.

05-10-2005, 11:39 AM
I went swimming this morning I did 24 lengths in 35 minutes, earlier this year, in february it was taking me 45 minutes to do 12 lengths! I even did back stroke, now that I have my super supportive Speedo swimsuit!!! (I had an accident involving back stroke and a tankini about 8 weeks ago when I really started to lose weight around my back, very embarrassing!!!) Now I am off to the gym for a quiet workout.

05-10-2005, 05:40 PM
I did sweatin' to the oldies with Richard Simmons.

05-10-2005, 06:13 PM
I had a 1 hour strength training class at 6am. It's getting easier and easier to get up in the morning. I know that if I don't go in the morning, I won't go. I will probably swim in my pool tonight to get some extra cardio. Kepp up the good work everyone!!

05-10-2005, 06:52 PM
i went to curves

05-10-2005, 08:02 PM
I did:

Walk Away The Pounds 2 Mile Walk with the weighted balls...
and I am off to my hour long dance lesson!

05-10-2005, 10:26 PM
Today was marching in place and up and down a step with 3 pound weights exercising my arms for 35 minutes, followed by my continually failing attempt at keeping a hoola hoop around my slowly expanding mid-section. :D :D :D

Tomorrow is my next of my 3 day a week Curves sessions.

05-10-2005, 11:29 PM
Today I started Couch-to-5k. I did the 20 minute session, then continued walking to fill up an hour, total.

05-10-2005, 11:43 PM
90 mins (3200 m) with Masters swimming
20 mins rowing
1 mile run
30 min crosstrainer

A big day, tomorrow will be just a little running & weights. Bought size 10 pants today, first time in 27 years. Unbelievable.

05-11-2005, 07:04 PM
Swimming again this morning, 40 lengths this time!!!!
Gym in the afternoon, an hour of weights - lower body today, upper body Friday.
I don't know what I ever did before exercise!!! Oh yes that's right, cooking and eating!!!

05-12-2005, 07:59 AM
25 min ellipticle and strenght training 22000 lbs last night and then a soak in the hot tub, ahhhh for 05/11/2005

05-12-2005, 11:01 AM
I walked 2 miles at 3.5 mph for the past 2 days... doing yoga today..

05-12-2005, 08:09 PM
Today I continued with Couch-to-5k week 1, then walked afterward again to round out an hour of workout time.

My knees hurt a little more during jogging stints, but stopped immediately when I switched to walking. I'm not really sure if that means to stop, or if that's just the hurt that comes with starting a new exercise program.

05-12-2005, 08:40 PM
I kinda did something to my hip the other day, but don't know how, so laid off exercise yesterday. But went back to Curves today, and doing Curves again tomorrow as my third day in the week. If the weather really is 81 Saturday, I might go for a jog. Then again, I might jog around the block and decide 81 isn't conducive to jogging and take it down to a walk. LOL!

05-12-2005, 09:06 PM
I did curves yesterday and walk/run on the treadmill for 44 minutes today.

05-13-2005, 10:55 AM
Yesterday (Thursday) I did:

30 minutes belly dancing
20 minute very brisk walk

I'll post later today after my workout!

05-13-2005, 01:08 PM
1 hour of spin :ebike: that kicked my booty!! I'll be lifting weights tonight. Great job everyone!!

05-13-2005, 07:07 PM
Did a little diffrent since the bike was tied up the whole time I was at the gym.
I ran for a quarter of a mile then walked uphill for the rest at a 13.0 incline at 3.3 speed ( Usually I would just run my mile but I had just ate and went to work out to soon afterward) then went to the eliptical walker and did a mile forward and then a mile backwards. Then headed to the crossramp and did a mile at the highest level and then hit several weight machines and did some situps with my legs wrapped around the knee braces and then I biked home.

05-13-2005, 09:17 PM
30 minutes :ebike: on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and now aiming to do the same tonight! Hoping to do some upper body routine I missed yesterday due to broken machine. Hope everyone is doing great this weekend!

05-14-2005, 07:27 PM
I just finished week one of Couch-to-5k, and then walked for another 45 minutes.

I think I'm going to repeat week one next week instead of moving to week two. My body is just not accustomed to it yet.

05-14-2005, 08:04 PM
Did Curves Thursday and Friday and jogged/walked 1.75 miles today.

05-14-2005, 08:14 PM
I did 40 minutes of full body strength training today with weights.

05-15-2005, 02:14 PM
I walked 2 miles at 3.5 mph for the past 2 days... doing yoga today..

I slacked off for the past 3 days... going to do 2 miles and yoga today...

05-15-2005, 04:58 PM
2 hour workshop with guest instructor on Classical Indian Dance

1 hour troupe rehearsal (belly dance performing company)

05-15-2005, 08:56 PM
I inflated my new stability ball, does that count? That thing's a bear to blow up! I'm not sure if I'm doing it right, either. I don't think my butt is supposed to be below my knees when sitting on it. I'm afraid of over inflating it, though. I hope I didn't end up with a shoddy one.

Otherwise, crappy weather prevented me from walking today.

05-16-2005, 09:05 PM
I worked out pretty good today specially since yesterday me and the husband went to Mexican Village and ate a little bit more than we should.
I started with my one mile run on the tredmill
moved onto the crossramp and did 2 miles one mile forward and one mile backward, then moved on to the eliptical walker and did one mile forward then went to the weight machines and did my ab workout and did some arm workouts. Then I biked home.
I had a good workout today , Seems to make the stress from work a little easier to deal with after a good workout.

05-17-2005, 12:30 AM
Tried something different today.

1/2 hour beginner's pilates, followed by 20 minutes on the stability ball.

05-17-2005, 09:02 AM
Did my aerobics tape last night, even though it was late enough that I could have just used the "its almost bedtime" excuse. I'm a little groggy this morning, but at least I kept the habit going!

05-17-2005, 10:21 AM
Monday Night: 1 mile on the treadmill
Tuesday Morning: 1 mile on the treadmill
**GOAL ** Working my way up to two or three by the end of next week **

05-17-2005, 10:29 PM
20 minute brisk walk at lunch, Couch-to-5k, and 40 minute power walk

Then I had a long talk with my knees, telling them they need to start cooperating if we all want to be happy, that I'm doing the best I can to lighten their work load and now they need to do their fair share, or I, as their employer, would be forced to replace them in years to come, and none of us want that.

05-19-2005, 12:17 AM
30 minute brisk walk at lunch, and 65 minute power walk carrying 2lb weights.

I started to watch a new workout video, but I had to take advantage of the nice weather.

05-19-2005, 10:01 PM
Did the 30 minute Boot Camp CRUNCH video today - total body conditioning work out. I don't think the military has it that hard in boot camp... :wl: :)

05-20-2005, 10:43 AM
Tazia-I have seen that video and was wondering it if was any good...do you like it?
Yesterday I walked a mile...I was BUSY.

05-20-2005, 11:30 AM
I started do Couch-to-5k last night, but it started raining and I didn't finish. Stopping that abruptly was really rough on my knees.

05-20-2005, 12:50 PM
40 minutes of strength training...I may do a little cardio later.

05-20-2005, 01:11 PM
30 minutes of Billy's Bootcamp!
Man are my arms sore today!
I am participating in Relay for Life this weekend. May get up to 6 miles in tonight! Hopefully that will help with some weight loss since I havent eated the best food the last few days.

05-20-2005, 06:01 PM
1 hour of spin at the gym this morning. I will lift weights and probably swim tonight. It is over 100 degrees outside..ugh :hot:

05-22-2005, 02:14 AM
Don't laugh...

I worked out to a bellydance DVD today. Not a particularly good one, but it was kind of fun. I got it from the library, and I think I'll keep using it until I find a better one.

05-22-2005, 07:11 AM
i swum this morning, over half a mile ( lost count after 30 lengths). Did weights and cardio late yesterday afternoon, planning to get back to the gym this afternoon as well. I love Sundays, plenty of time to exercise!!!

05-23-2005, 01:06 AM
Lots of housework today, that has to count for something. Also a 15 minute brisk walk, and I worked out to the same bellydance dvd. I'm checking out ebay for a better one now.

05-23-2005, 08:00 AM
Bet-which one do you have?

I had a 2 hour belly dance troupe rehearsal last night. (For this coming weekend's performance!)

05-23-2005, 09:59 AM
Friday night did two miles at Relay (didnt walk as much as I thought I would)
I worked Saturday 9 am - 9 pm (on my feet all day - does that count?)
Sunday - worked from 11-3 and then rested my tired toosties.
Monday - hoping to do two miles tonight.

05-23-2005, 09:59 AM
The one I got from the library is called "Bellydance For Wimps". The instructor isn't the most impressive, but the moves were pretty fun, and it was the best oblique workout I'd had in a long time! I'm not sure if I want a bellydance exercise video, or how to dance video. I'm watching a couple of Cory Zamora DVDs on ebay right now, and also a four pack of bellydance fitness with Rania. There's a Veena & Neena set that comes with a music cd and hip scarf I have my eye on, too.

The only problem is that my coordination is so bad that I can only do the moves standing still. Anything that calls for me moving in a circle or back and forth has me all over the apartment!

05-23-2005, 10:43 AM
No-the bellydance for wimps is not a really great one to learn fromthe instructor isn't that good. The Cory Zamoras are "so-so". The Veena and Neena are okay for beginners-but I would only get the video-not the set with the scarf. You can get a better quality hip scarf from somewhere like Aliahs Closet, Moondance Bellydance, or Dahlal Internationale online.
Off topic-but if you are wanting an "exercise" dance video:
Veena and Neena series
Bellydance Fitness Fusion with Suhaila

If you are wanting beginner dance instruction:
Bellydance Magical Motion (by Atea)
Absolute Beginner Bellydance with Delilah
Ruby Jazayre videos

05-23-2005, 01:23 PM
Thanks for the info :)

I'm afraid to put too much money into this in case it falls flat. Since I work at the library, I've been trying to convince the a/v selectors to buy some more bellydance videos, but so far I'm the only person who's expressed an interest. I might try the used video store, too.

As far as the rest of my exercise, my knees forced me to quit Couch-to-5k. The pain just kept getting worse instead of better. So, tonight I plan a long walk with handweights. If I'm lucky, my husband will bike along side me.

05-24-2005, 12:34 AM
My knees were ultra sore today, so I didn't get to work out like I thought. I did take a 40 minute brisk walk at lunch time, and another 15 minute walk this evening, though.

I logged that into the President's Challenge, too. Hopefully that will motivate me to exercise like I should.

05-24-2005, 01:16 AM
I did so well today! :strong:

I worked out 2 times at the gym- once this morning with a friend:

15 minutes recumbent bike
30 minutes treadmill
15 minutes weights (ab and adductor machine, bicep and tricep machine, lat pulls, chest press, rowing and shoulder press)

then again when I took my daughter to go to her kids finess class:

swimming, 20 minutes with my daughter (then we played with me holding her and swimming with her on my back and such :) )
45 minutes treadmill
15 minutes weights (rowing, ab machine, glute/hamstring machine)

05-24-2005, 07:06 PM
:tread: Did my mile on the tread mill . Did a mile on the eliptical walker .
Did my mile on the crossramp did 2 miles on the bike :ebike:
then :wl: I lifted some weights and did some crunches
and then I got on my bike and headed home from the gym..
Whoo hoo :cb:

05-25-2005, 12:35 AM
30 minute brisk walk at lunch, and a 65 minute power walk with 2lb weights tonight.

05-25-2005, 05:18 AM
Got up at 6 this morning, went to the gym and did weights for an hour, then swum for half an hour, now off to work. I have a gym at work and one of the gals wants me to go with her at lunch, so my exercise day isn't over yet!!!

05-28-2005, 12:24 AM
I did manage to get in a short walk tonight, but my hubby is unusually hogging the tv tonight, so no workout video. I think he had a bad day, so I'll let him have it for now.

05-28-2005, 02:51 AM
The husband came with me and gave me some more good pointers and I will use them the next time we go up. I did my usual and it was really hard getting up on the tred today but I did it because I know I had to.
Specially since the holiday is coming up and the gym is closed on Monday. I plan on doing some outside activities to try and get some exersise in that day. :bike:

05-28-2005, 10:30 PM
30 minutes with my new bellydance workout dvd (thanks for the recommendation, Aphil!), and 30 minutes light strength training on the stability ball.

05-30-2005, 11:30 AM
Saturday I danced for 4 hours while attending a workshop seminar with Zahra Zuhair. (Bellydance Superstars) :) She kicked my BUTT.

Then...I had to take some Advil so I could perform that evening in the Evening At The Oasis show.

05-30-2005, 04:56 PM
Aphil, you must be whipped! I actually searched for some classes nearby, but the closest is 1 1/2 hours away, which does me no good since I don't drive. Oh, well. It's not like I have the money to spare anyway ;)

Yesterday was a sweaty half hour on my in-laws treadmill, and today (if my husband cleans up his mess in the living room) I will do a Veena & Neena video. I've already walked around the neighborhood a bit, so if he doesn't get his act together, I won't be totally out.

05-31-2005, 10:46 AM
Yesterday I walked 2 miles on a local walking trail.

05-31-2005, 02:23 PM

05-31-2005, 11:54 PM
I did 35 minutes on the eliptical machine tonight. I need to build up my stamina, just those 35 minutes made my legs feel like noodles. But hey, I did it!

06-01-2005, 10:12 AM
1 hour power walk yesterday. I was going to do a little bit with dumbells, too, but I forgot my instruction sheet with exercises at work.

06-01-2005, 10:35 AM
Yesterday I did another 2 miles on the walking trail....today is strength training. I'll post when I am done.

06-06-2005, 04:21 PM
Yesterday I did 2 mile Leslie Sansone dvd and 20 minutes yoga.

06-06-2005, 04:28 PM
30 min walk this morning...more to come hopefully :D

06-06-2005, 11:15 PM
Went to a one hour pilates class tonight. Going to try and stick with it this time!! :D

06-07-2005, 09:57 AM
Wednesday night:
1 1/2 hour troupe rehearsal

powerwalked 1 mile
yoga practice

30 minutes strength training

powerwalked 2 miles

1 1/2 hour troupe rehearsal

powerwalked 1 1/2 miles
20 minutes strength training

06-07-2005, 01:08 PM
Yesterday I unpacked 15 heavy boxes at work, and went for a 30 minute walk at lunchtime.

06-07-2005, 01:20 PM
60 minutes Aerobics video (Richard Simmons) but it still counts as activity last night. I am trying to mix my exercize up daily so I am checking out whatever videos the library has. Tonight will probably be 45 to 60 minutes DDR on x-box.

06-07-2005, 06:25 PM
Just did a 30 minute bellydance workout and 10 minute flexability workout. No more full workouts today, but I hope to talk my husband into going for a walk or bike ride with me.

06-07-2005, 08:00 PM
I'm still at work right now (and shouldn't be posting here ;) ) but I can't help thinking about the exercise I need to do from sitting in front of this computer, trapped in this tiny cubicle all day! I will be working out on my elliptical machine for 30 min as soon as I get outta here! :)

06-08-2005, 11:12 AM
I do a lot of sitting at work, too. I'm thinking about getting one of those little steppers you put in front of a desk to get circulation going while you sit. I'm not sure how much use I'd get from it, though, since I swivel around a bit between a book truck and my keyboard.

~lookin for lean~
06-09-2005, 09:12 PM
I did a mile on my exercise bike this afternoon.

06-10-2005, 12:30 PM
Yesterday= 10 minute flexibility routine in the morning, and a 30 minute walk at lunchtime.

06-11-2005, 12:53 AM
I did walk home from a doctor appointment today (about 15-20 minute walk), but I got a last minute invitation to the movies, so I didn't have enough time to do a workout tape. I did, however, find some Gilad DVDs on ebay that I just have to buy once I get the money. I used to work out to his tv show years ago, and loved it! I wish he was still on regular tv. I don't get cable :(

06-12-2005, 01:16 AM
My power walk was cut short to 20 minutes due to rain, so later in the evening I exercised to my one and only workout dvd. I bought a couple more on clearance online the other day, and they should arrive shortly. I need variety!

06-13-2005, 07:09 PM
Wednesday night I had troupe rehearsal for 1 1/2 hours...and I had strength trained earlier in the day. Thursday I swam with the kids...Friday I strength trained lightly for 20 minutes. Saturday I got my behind kicked at a dance seminar-I danced for over 5 HOURS...and performed later that evening. Yesterday (Sunday) I got in the pedalboat and pedaled around the lake where we camp. (Great for your thighs!!!)
Today I am going to strength train, and I have a 1 1/2 hour rehearsal this evening for a performance on Wednesday.

06-13-2005, 08:38 PM
Yesterday and today I did my workout dvd early in the morning.

I just got the 3 new dvds I got on clearance in the mail today, and I'll probably do one tonight, since I had Arby's for dinner :o

06-14-2005, 12:34 AM
Mon, June 13: hiked 5.4 miles :)

06-14-2005, 10:02 AM
30 minutes of Arms and Abs toning this morning. Hopefully a walk tonight.

06-14-2005, 09:00 PM
One hour on the elliptical and 100 crunches

I felt so much better about myself after I left the gym!

06-15-2005, 09:55 AM
30 minute aerobic video this morning. When I've proven to myself that I can do this consistantly, I'm going to bump up the duration and perhaps do either an hour long video or two in a row.

I'm liking doing this in the morning instead of after work. I find I'm less likely to skip it now.

06-15-2005, 02:59 PM
I went out on the walkway and did 3 1/2 miles last night...I had to perform a 30 minute show this morning at 9am, so there is 30 minutes of dancing. I will strength train later today.

06-15-2005, 04:10 PM
Yay! I was able to fit in a 45 minute walk at lunch today.

06-15-2005, 10:57 PM
an hour on the elliptical, an hour seems like so long when you're exercising. jeeze.

06-16-2005, 09:54 AM
I did 30 minutes of strength training last night after my morning performance. Today is cardio day! I'll report back when done.

06-16-2005, 10:00 AM
Hips and thigh toning video this morning, and I'm going on an organized walk tonight downtown.

06-16-2005, 10:27 PM
Just came back from a 5.4 mi hike. After dinner stroll (30 min) will follow...

06-17-2005, 09:47 AM
30 minutes cardio this morning.

Last night I went on a historic home tour downtown that lasted about an hour and a half. I was surprised how much a slow, controlled, slightly uphill walk worked my legs! I think I got a tiny bit of cardio in from swatting the mosquitoes, too.

I did 65 minutes of interval training on the elliptical machine today! Then my legs felt like noodles but I did it :).

06-18-2005, 12:56 AM
I did 55 min cardio sculpt and 25 min abs.

06-18-2005, 02:32 AM
I woke up early today and did 30 minutes of dumbell exercises with the stabilty ball then went off to the gym later did an hour water aerobics class and walked in the pool for an hour YEAH! Now my day is off to a good start

I did 40 mins on the elliptical and 30 on the recumbent bike today.

06-18-2005, 11:21 PM
Wow...forgot to post for a few days!

Wednesday evening: (had a dance performance earlier that day, posted above)
~20 minutes strength training

~15 minutes yoga

~30 minutes strength training
~powerwalked 3 1/2 miles
~rode bike along walkway and through neighborhood 5 miles

~did 3 3/4 miles on the local walkway...powerwalking with jogging intervals thrown in. (Walked for 3 miles, jogged for 3/4 mile in 1/4 mile intervals.)
~rode bike outside for about 1 1/2 miles

06-18-2005, 11:26 PM
6/18/2005: 2 hour hike, completely negated by the 5 cupcakes I ate afterwards :( I don't know what came over me.

06-19-2005, 12:28 AM
I made the decision to start exercising again today.

I walked a mile (a Leslie Sansone mile in my living room, but still a mile). I originally planned on two, but after the first I did a quick cool down and realized it was probably not a great idea to push it.

You know, until we went bowling this afternoon. Four games, 2 1/2 hours. I must have gone temporarily insane, but man it was fun.

I think I kinda can't move though.

06-19-2005, 10:45 AM
Yesterday, I tried to do the Denise Austin Personal Trainer DVD, but, alas, I'm still but a lowly beginner and it was too much for me. So, I took Denise out and put in Veena and Neena and did two of their workouts, Basic Moves, and Fat Burning, and boy are my calves killing me!

Since my calves are so sore, I may take today as a rest day, but I might do a little bit on the stability ball. I've started using the thing as my computer chair, thinking that I may as well be accomplishing SOMEthing while puttering on the 'puter.

06-19-2005, 09:43 PM
30 minutes on the elliptical
10 minutes on the bike

some leg lifts and crunches

06-19-2005, 10:58 PM
Well, I said it was going to be a rest day, but I lied.

45 minutes on the stability ball, then hubby and I walked our bikes to the gas station to put more air in the tires, then rode them back home.

06-20-2005, 08:51 AM
Yesterday (Sunday) I had a 90 minute dance rehearsal.

06-20-2005, 11:27 AM
sunday i used my lunch break at work and walked for a half hour, and then after work, i walked another half hour to the train station (instead of taking the bus) - and i actually ended up getting home faster that way! (bonus!)

06-20-2005, 10:22 PM
an hour on the elliptical
some leg lifts and crunches and things for my abs (they're so sore now!!)

06-21-2005, 12:52 AM

30 minutes of Veena and Neena Fat Burning today.

06-22-2005, 04:19 PM
8 minutes on this wierd looking exercise horse where you push your legs out and pull in with your arms at the same time. Wow, my first day trying it and it was tough.

32 minutes on the treadmill averaging about 2.5mph with a 5degree inclination

10 minutes walking in the swimming pool

10 minutes running in the swimming pool

06-23-2005, 11:52 AM
Last night, I went for a 20 minute walk with my hubby, and later did 40 minutes on the stability ball.

This morning, 30 minutes of Veena and Neena Slim Down.

I took my kids to the biological park on Tuesday and walked pushing the stroller for a little over 3 hours. Not a great workout, but still technically exercise.

I'm planning to go to the gym for a real workout tonight.

06-23-2005, 01:32 PM
Almost forgot...

This has GOT to count for something. Yesterday at work I unboxed, invoiced, recieved, and delivered (read: lifted, pushed, and moved many many times) 4 sets of encyclopedias at work.

06-24-2005, 01:18 AM

06-24-2005, 09:51 AM
30 minutes of Veena and Neena Slim Down again this morning, and I will probably be doing more heavy box moving at work today. The other day, it was the World Book Encyclopedias, and we are expecting the Brittanicas any day now. :faint:

60 minutes of Leslie Sansone Walk Off the Weight and
40 minutes on the stability ball

06-27-2005, 09:45 AM
30 minutes of Veena and Neena Fat Burning this morning.

I tried to do Crunch CardioSalsa, but there's just not enough room in my apartment. I kept kicking every piece of furniture I own. I guess I'll just have to wait till I get a bigger place before I do that one. Too bad; it looks so fun, too. :(

06-27-2005, 10:13 AM
Yesterday I did a 30 minute dance performance outside in 98 degree heat and high humidity. In full costume. (umpteen layers of unbreathable fabric)
That was it for the day, because that experience sucked.

06-28-2005, 11:51 AM
20 minutes of treadmill/bicycle
strength training
20 minutes of laps in the pool

06-28-2005, 11:53 AM
40 minutes of Leslie Sansone's Walk Off the Weight this morning. Ozone alert today, so I don't know if I'll get a bike ride in like I wanted.

06-28-2005, 03:26 PM
I did my Walk Away the Pounds 1 mile walk. Today is day 1 for me. Woo Hoo! :D

1 hour on the elliptical.

Does anyone else ever do it backwards? I did 10 minutes backwards and honestly felt like my bum was going to fall off! That's really tough.

07-02-2005, 12:46 PM
I hope to be walking the golf course behind my parents' house today with my mom.

After yesterday at work, I think I can add "Pigeon Wrangling" to my workout log. It's a very long story, but basically, for quite a time I was ducking and squatting all around the library parking lots and garage.

A scene in Surburbia, USA, yesterday afternoon:

"Look, in the yard!"

"It's a tank!"

"It's a machine!"

"No, it's Mulch Woman!!"

Yes, Mulch Woman! Able to lay 3 inches with a single shovel! Able to fill a wheelbarrow in less than 30 seconds! Able to work in 15 minute increments with five minute breaks for two hours!

Mulch Woman. Coming to the rescue of older gardeners with hernias everywhere.

Ask for her by name.

1 hour Pilates
1 hour stretching
50 minutes aquafit
30 minutes gym (bike & cross-trainer, 480 calories burnt)
70 minutes Yoga

40 minutes of Leslie Sansone Walkaerobics this morning.

07-07-2005, 09:42 AM
I am just getting back into working out! Last week (Mon, June 27th) was the first time I had been to the gym in over a year. All I did was walk for half an hour at 4 mph, and I had to slow that down at the end. I walked on Wednesday, too - without slowing down! On Sunday my husband and I took a five mile bike ride (I used to ride 30 miles no problem. Now, 5 miles was TIRING) Tuesday I played softball, Wednesday I walked about a mile and a half. All this added up to a 0.2 pound weight loss. Crap.

So this morning I got to the gym (for the THIRD time in a year) and did half an hour on the elliptical. *pat self on back*

07-07-2005, 09:47 AM

Congrats on "getting back on the bicycle" (so to speak ;) )

07-07-2005, 12:47 PM

30 minute Bellydance Fat Burning DVD this morning.

I've been really bad about making time to work with my stability ball. I was doing well when I started out, but I don't have the guts to kick my husband out of the living room some evenings, so I postpone. And I postpone. And I postpone. Ad Infinitum. Since I realize I'm doing this now, I hope I have the determination to go through with it tonight.

20 minutes on the elliptical, 15 minutes on the bike, 15 minutes of weights

1 hour on the elliptical, 25 minutes on the bike

07-23-2005, 07:20 PM
I got on to my gazelle and spent 10 minutes there - 10 minutes on hand held weights and about 10 minutes on floor/ab exercises. I good starting for getting back into exercising. I am going to try add several sessions on the gazelle in a day to build it up to 40 -60 minutes daily.

07-24-2005, 01:19 PM
Well yesturday I did Tae Bo. We went to Catalina Island and walked the whole time, shopping and site seeing.

I jogged a mile and then walked a mile with my husband at 5:30 this morning before he went to work, then right after he left for work, I walked two more miles. I love it when it works out for me to exercise right away when I wake up in the morning. It wakes me up and puts me in the right frame of mind for the whole day. I hope to get some more walking in and an ab workout sometime today.

07-27-2005, 10:14 AM

30 minute Hips Buns and Thighs toning DVD this morning.

I know I ought to be getting more exercise than 30 minutes a day. I just feel overwhelmed by the concept of more than that. I can only get up so early in the morning! Hopefully soon I'll have that 30 minutes in the morning burned in as a strong habit and I can start thinking of when else to have another workout. So far, I've been able to keep up with at least 4 days a week of 30 minute workouts. Here's hoping...

gray eyed girl
07-30-2005, 01:27 AM
15 minutes of pilates, 45 minutes on the elliptical (at level 5 - when I started exercising I could barely do 20 minutes at level 1!), 45 minutes on the recumbent bike.

07-30-2005, 01:47 AM
I did roughly an hour total. 20 minutes on the treadmill, some lunges with weights- and then my knee gave out and I hit the floor. Wasn't injured or anything thankfully and no one was in there to see it. I did some rows and chest presses and hopped back on the treadmill for another 15 minutes or so. Not bad considering I wasn't feeling too hot today and cut my heel open yesterday. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

08-11-2005, 07:12 PM
Good for all of you for getting your exercise in today.
DH and I walked for 20 minutes through the neighborhood in the morning
tonight I was in the pool for 40 minutes, swiming laps, walking and tredding water.

08-12-2005, 09:59 AM
The rain finally cleared up last night around 6:30, so I got in an hour of power walking.

This morning I got in 30 minutes of power walking, and hopefully I'll get in another 30 minutes at lunch.

I've been neglecting my stability ball lately, so I want to do that tonight. It's too easy to forget to get in strength training...

08-12-2005, 01:08 PM
This morning I woke up and did a 20-minute Tae Bo power round workout. It's my rest day for my treadmill workout so no treadmill this morning. Tonight I'll be doing a 55-minute Tae Bo Ultimate Boot Camp workout. Plus I got in my full 140 crunches for the day.

This morning I did a Body Electric show, which is about 30 min. of strength training. Parts worked - pecs, quads, outer thighs, and inner thighs. I met bf last night to go out to dinner with another couple, so I left my bike at the train station (and it rained overnight. Sigh.). So I walked to the train this morning - about 6 blocks.

Tomorrow morning is my Jazzercise class (~1 hour total - 40 min cardio, 20 min. strength training).

I'm back on track! I did my morning walk this morning. I added 1/2 mile to my usual 3 miles. I think my body started getting used to the 3 miles. I'm so happy I did it. I was starting to worry that I might gain all the weight I had lost. But so far no damage has been done.

Hi guys! I'm new here, and very happy to have found this community. I am getting back on the healthy eating/exercise wagon after have lost (and regained almost every blasted one of) thirty pounds last year.

Today, Hubby and I went to the gym. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical machine. This evening we took a brisk one-hour walk, with the pace being set by our two Dachshunds. (Don't let those short little legs fool you ... they can REALLY go).
