Talking For all you "just 1 pound losers"

One Pound
Hello! Do you know me? If you don't, then you should. I am a pound of
fat. And I'm the happiest pound of fat you would ever want to meet. Want
to know why?

It's because no one ever wants to lose me. I'm only one pound! Everyone
wants to lose three pounds, five pounds, or fifteen pounds, but never only
one. So, I just stick around and happily keep you fat. Then I add to
myself, ever so slyly, so that you never seem to notice me. That is, until
I've grown up to ten, twenty, or even more pounds in weight. Yes, it is fun
being only one pound of fat, left to do as I please. So, when you weigh in,
keep right on saying "Oh, I only lost one" (as if that were such a terrible
thing!).

For you see, if you do this, you will encourage others to keep me around
because they will think I'm not worth losing. And, I love being around
you - your arms, your legs, your chin, your hips, and every part of you.
HAPPY DAYS!!! After all, I'm only one little pound.

That's great Kimberlie, I love it! We'll have to make sure Sandi reads this - it's more affective than my rant over at the weekly weight loss thread

I'm SO glad you posted this! I see so many people get discouraged by small losses. Well, most of my losses have been around 1lb a week. Sometimes less. Sometimes more, I get those 2 to 3 lb drops every so often. They add up!! If they didn't I wouldn't have lost over 50lbs now.

And I'll add too that sometimes the scale number goes up. I've had that happen plenty of times too.

So goodbye 0.1 lb, goodbye 1lb, goodbye to any and all you excess fat cells! heh heh.

That's awesome, and oh, so true. I just joined a gym and I told the sales guy I need to lose 30 pounds (please don't be mad at me for posting in here, you guys are just so inspirational! ) and he says, So, how long have you been wanting to lose 30 pounds?

And I said well, it started with me needing to lose ten pounds about a year and a half ago.

And he said, Well, why didn't you lose ten pounds a year and a half ago?

And I said, Well, because a year and a half ago, it was "ONLY" ten pounds!!

Them little buggers sneak up on ya and multiply when you're not looking!!!
