We were up to two pages again, so here we go again. Isn't that great! :)

Christa, you'll have to tell all about the wedding you went to tonight. Did you dance all evening?
It sounds like a fun wedding.

My husband and I just watched that movie, Miss Congeniality--with Sandra Bullock. We'd seen it at the movies and had to rent it. It was soooo funny.

Take care and enjoy the rest of the holiday.

Dee, sorry you have to work. But as you said, you'll make that holiday money.

Hi all!

Tina - I just rented Miss Congeniality on Friday night. It was a great movie. Don't get to the movies too much now with having the baby, so we wait for it to come out on video. Now that all reruns will be on TV we will rent all the good movies we missed.

Thankfully the baby is feeling much better. Fever finally broke and he went to the sitters on Fri. He's still not eating much, but he is definitely feeling better. THanks for thinking of us.

We are having a picnic tomorrow for the holiday. Hopefully the rain will let up so we can barbecue. I'm happy for the rain becuase we need it, but I'm ready for some sunshine. I haven't been running because of the rain, so I need to get out and get some exercise.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend. Have a great week!

Happy Memorial Day!
Kimmy-jo, I'm glad the baby is feeling better. How old is he now? Don't worry about the eating, I'm sure he'll be back to normal in no time. ;)

The rain missed us today. We will stay around the house. Our son will come over at noon-ish and we'll grill some hot dogs. We haven't done that in ages. I'd love to fix some potato salad but I don't need the points.

For three days now, I've had high point breakfasts. That really cuts into the rest of the day's pts. Since I'm going to weigh in tomorrow night, for a change. I want to eat sparingly. I wish I had the ingredients for veggie soup.

Take care all,
Tina

We grilled hamburgers on the grill today. Absolutely delicious. We have a gas grill and a charcoal grill. Bob and I both think that burgers are best over charcoal so that's what we did. Tim wasn't too sure at first, but he enjoyed every bite. Had some low-fat (NOT!!) potato chips and dip, potato salad, and cheese. Bob bought an apple pie at the grocery, so that ended up being our supper tonight. We were too full after that lunch to have the pie for dessert.

No rain today!!!!

Our high school girls' softball team played in the regional finals this afternoon and won! They will play in the state semi-final next weekend. The girls were hanging out the bus windows yelling and waving when they came back into town earlier. It was neat! Bunches of my former students.

I've been reading alot this weekend, and have less than 100 pages to go in the book. (The Midnight Hour) I need to finish it tonight, or I just can't go to school tomorrow. Do you think the principal would go for that excuse?

We tried to rent Miss Congeniality when we went to Michigan, but it had already been started or wasn't working right at the motel. We ended up watching Castaway. I like Tom Hanks, so that was fine.

Have a great week everyone!

Hi, everyone! Hope you all had great holiday weekends!

I not only had Monday off, but took Tuesday as well, so it was a lovely four day weekend. Weather was crummy Saturday and Sunday, but decent on Monday and pretty nice yesterday. Cooked out for my sister and her family on Monday. Not a terribly WW-friendly menu (bruschetta, steak, leaf lettuce salad with bacon dressing, potato salad, berries and ice cream), but I managed pretty well on the portion control. I also made my sister take all the leftover sirloin home so that I didn't have that around tempting me. (I, of course, did have to finish the potato salad, though -- that was breakfast and lunch yesterday!)

Tammy, I totally agree on charcoal being better than gas for grilling burgers (and, frankly, everything else!). I have a charcoal grill with a gas starter, so at least I don't have to worry about lighter fluid and newspapers, and I just love the way stuff tastes on there. I even grilled the bruschetta.

I loved "Miss Congeniality"! Yes, it was a silly, fluffy movie, but that's what I like to see at the movies, and it was so darned cute :) I rented it just a few weeks ago for the second time. I saw "Bedazzled" this weekend, and that was ok. Also rented another movie (I forget the name) and must have missed the part on the jacket about it being in French with English subtitles. Ugh.

Talk to ya later!

I have been known to eat potato salad for breakfast too Laura! That's one of my favorite foods, especially the way my Aunt Jean makes it. or used to make it. Now that she's older, I don't know if she makes it any more.

Had to say good-bye to my class today. I hugged all of them at the end of the day, lots of tears.

Visitation at the funeral home went well tonight. Lots of catching up with cousins that I don't see often. Very silly since they are only a couple hours away. Some are even closer than that! My cousin Sandra is planning a family get together for July 4. My mom's family always got together on the 4th. When my Uncle Floyd died, it put a damper on things, because we always went to his house. Sandra decided it was time to start the tradition again, and let all of the cousin's kids get to know each other!

I have cramps for the 2nd time this month. I do not like this. My period should not be starting till the end of next week. I guess nerves/stress could be messing me up this time.

Tina

Morning,
I love potato salad, too. I've never tried it for breakfast, though. :)
Tammy, I' think your early cramps are stress caused. Stress does all sorts of odd things to our bodies.

Congratulations to all the teachers!!!!!! Summertime is upon you. Lots of time for sun bathing--time to show off those bodes without all those pounds. ;)

Today is not a good de-stressed day for me (that didn't sound right). One year ago today, my mother had her stroke. I pray that she doesn't remember what day it happened. I've been a "basket case" for several days. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I need it!

Hi All,

I've been out of pocket since Saturday (went to San Antonio to visit family). My sister and I went to WW on Wed. since we are going to work together. I gained 10 pounds since I was there 2 weeks ago. That doesn't sound right to me but, I'll weigh in here this next week.

I bought a scale today. I'm going to really watch everything that goes in my mouth.

Tammy, I'm sorry about the loss of your aunt. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Your son sounds like quite a young man!!

Kimmy Jo, sorry to hear that the baby has been sick and is feeling better.

Never saw the movie "Miss Congeniality". However, I sure would like to have Sandra Bullock's body. Wishful thinking!! :)

Hi All,
Susan, we missed you. I cannot believe that you gained ten pounds in just two weeks. Something is wrong with that scale. :)

Kimmy-jo I hope your son is fine now.

Okay school teachers-----It's party time!!!!! Congratulations on being out for the summer.

Jill----where are you???? I guess she's just too busy getting ready for the wedding to write us. We are still waiting for our invitations. :)

Dee--how are you doing? Write us, okay....

This weekend will be nice and relaxing for me. Nothin's going on. Just relaxing time. It's hot but that's okay.

I just came in from mowing the yard and repotting some plants. I hope I got some dirt in the pots since I seemed to be wearing more of it. However, it was fun! It was hot here too!! It's too early to be hot!!!

Tina, I hope the scale wasn't working. I did weigh in while in San Antonio and not here at home. We'll see when I go this week.

Hope everyone is having a relaxing Saturday.

 Cool, Check out all of the smilie faces we can add now!

Let me tell you about my day. There is nothing like a good hot Texas day without any air conditioning. Mine went out last night. Got up early this morning to call the A/C repair and the soonest they can come out is Wed. However, looking at it from a brighter side, we have 2 units (the one that is out is on the main part of the house), and second it is not the dead of summer yet! It got up to 88 in the house with fans going. :dizzy:

I had my yearly check up and the dr. said well, you weight has been pretty stable. I mentioned that I had rejoined WW and she said it was the best thing I could do and that I need to stick with it.

Hope everyone is have a cooler day than I.

I hope that I don't mess up on this! Everytime I go to someplace new, I get nervous.

Susan, 10 pounds in 2 weeks sounds like alot. I'm sure there was a mistake. I've been watching the scales for the past week. With the big meal after the funeral, and all of the graduation parties that we went to, I expected a 50 pound gain. I am up a little, but it's always the same 2-3 pounds.

When is Jill's wedding? I've been practicing my singing because I KNOW that she will want me to sing!!! LOL

Toodles!

Tina

Hi,
Wow, I'm not sure about this. I'll have to take some time to get used to everything.
Tammy, Jill's wedding is in December. I've already picked out my dress. :)

Susan, poor girl. I hope you don't melt before Wed.

I haven't been "online" because I'm swamped with work. My boss went out of town for the week. He left me with a big project.
Does anyone do graphs on Power Point?????
I'm trying to learn.

I'll check in tomorrow.

I love this idea of using different colors but I havent figured out how to turn the online offline thingy off... but thats ok. :spin:

I lost 1/2 a pound last week, and that was just barely. I did try to go biking one day, but had a flat, and I hate airing up tires.

Susan, hope you get your AC fixed soon! I for one don't like the heat, I usually have several fans running and my AC just to make sure it's cool.

Well guess I've played enough with the colors  hope everyone has a great week!

Good Morning!
How is everyone doing so far?
I got to sleep in. I take my mother to a doctor for a check-up this a.m. It's not a pleasant task.

Dee, I haven't figured out about the offline thing yet, either. I tried last night for a long time but never saw how.

I think I'll weigh in tonight since my husband goes. Wish me luck.

Hi All,

Well, survived another day without A/C. It actually wasn't that bad. Felt like my mom and dad's house, toasty warm. My husband brought in some huge fans Sun. night from the barn which has helped tremendously. They come repair it tomorrow. :smug: Thanks Thanks for all of your concern and encouragement!

Tina, hope the trip to the doctor was smooth and you only heard good news! Hope your weigh in was GREAT!

Dee, I love the color too along with the smilie faces. However the offline is still a mystery to me, since it says off line and I'm on.

Tammy, I'm so sorry about your aunt. I would not worry being up a couple of pounds since it has been so stressful. Are you enjoying your time off? I have to veg for a couple of days because I'm so tired at the beginning of summer. I know it sounds silly but only fellow teacher's understand.

Talk to ya'll tomorrow.

Thought I'd pop in real quick and wish everyone good luck on weighin this week. ;) I think I'll do okay.

Tammy, How are you doing after the funeral? I know that after everyone leaves and life is back to "normal" is sometimes the harder time.

Tina, How did your mom come out with her appt.? At least it gave you a reason to sleep in.

Susan, you are making me think twice about wanting to move farther south. We are in Northern WI and looking forward to relocating in the next year or two. We really want to go farther south to get away from the extreme cold we have in the winter. I don't know that I want to go that far south to have those temps in June. (Ours are around 60 degrees now). Laura, your temps are pretty similar to ours I bet.

Dee, did you ever figure out how to change the online thing?

Well, back to work.

Ladies,

I figured it out...how to change the Off-line status!!!! Go to your profile, then edit options. The very first item is Change invisible status.... To show you are on line, Mark the NO!!. Your postings will indicate that you are on line. See what happens when you have a little time on your hands!! ;)

I went for my pre-op appointment. Only to find out that I may some day need knee replacement. :( The doctor says that he feels pretty certain about it. Wow!! He also said I need to ride the bike a min. of 45 minutes a day. I'm starting today, that should help with my weight. Oh well, each day brings on new discoveries and challenges. I'm ready for next Friday. I'm fortunate, because there are people a lot worse of than me.

Loodie, I love Texas. You get use to the warm summers. Try it, you might like!! :D

Here's to a good weigh in !!!!

Tammy

I am FINALLY finished in my classroom! School has been out since last Thursday, but I've been going through things in my room. Threw away quite a bit of junk. Have no idea why I was hanging on to it. A true packrat!

Today I cut cardboard and am planning (yea, right) to make math flashcards in my spare time this summer. I always plan to do things, but for some reason, it doesn't get accomplished. Today I found a grocery bag in the extra bedroom loaded with books that I wanted to take in to the school last fall!!!!! Where is my brain? I should just take it into the room tomorrow morning and stick it in a locker, because I know that I'll forget it by August.

Things have been OK since the funeral. I have thought about Aunt Doris every day, and I worry about Uncle Bill's health. I plan to go out for a visit soon, but I don't want to push. He has always enjoyed his solitude. I guess that comes from him being an only child.

We had an estimate for a new furnace and central air. The furnace we have was put in when the house was built (1954). The air conditioner was put in about 1971. We think we could get something that would be more cost efficient, what do you think? The estimate was less than I expected, so I think we are going to go for it. I'm sure it will pay for itself soon enough with the cost of gas and electric the way it is!

Have I rambled enough for today??

Hi All,

Hope everyone is doing well today!

Hey guess what!!! I have A/C. I was so glad to see the repair guy yesterday. He came about 3:00pm. :D

I went yesterday for my pre-op appointment. After looking at my x-rays the dr. said that I will most likely have to have knee replacement surgery before I'm 75. He said all of the conditions are there. So when he is in my knee next Friday, he is going to see what he can do to help correct some of the problem..... However, I go a reality check!! He said, "keep your weight down, and exercise on the stationary bike everyday for 45 minutes to an hour (work up to it)." Now, for some reason that hit home. :0

Today, I rode my bike 20 minutes and went to my meeting and stayed!! ;)

Has any tried E-Tools? I'm curious to know what everyone thinks.

Susan

Tammy
06-07-2001, 09:29 PM
What is e-tools??????

I take it that the stationary bike is OK for people with knee problems. I didn't know that! My left knee hurts every now and then when I'm walking. Maybe I'll have to jump on the bike.
What about a real bike? Is that OK to use?

Have you ever had one of those weeks where you just wanted to hit your husband??????????

I did chicken thighs on the GF grill the other night. It was still pink in the middle and hubby growled about it. I stuck them in the microwave and they were fine then.

The next night I made sausage and macaroni and cheese. He made some comments about the mac.&ch. not being very good.

No complaints about last night's beef and noodles although I even thought they had too much broth!

Today I went to get my hair cut and colored. I usually get a perm, but had decided not to this time. Time for a change, you know? When I walked into the kitchen when I got home, he said, "I sure hope it looks better than what I'm seeing right now!" He wasn't kidding! Then he couldn't understand why I was upset.

MEN!

Tammy,

I have to say, I have days and weeks like that too. My husband is brutly honest. It is one of the things that I love about him and hate about him. I only like it when it is something that I want to hear. Other times, my feelings are hurt.

I don't get my hair permed anymore either. The guy I go to, thinks that if you get the right cut then you don't need one. My husband likes my hair about half the time. If it was on his head then can do with it what he wants.

Hang in there!! He might be having male PMS :dizzy: I have a male friend who swears by it.

The bike is good for the knees. I think the stationary bike is a little easier than the real bike. That's my guess :?: since on a real one you have to balance and such. It the motion and non impact that's good. The dr. told me that walking (for exercising) wasn't good for my knee problems. Try it, it might help your knees out.

Well, I'm of to the hospital for an EKG and bloodwork. Never had an EKG before.

Susan

Tina
06-08-2001, 11:43 PM
Good evening,
Susan, how was your EKG??? I've had several and they make me so nervous - and, that's what you don't want to be. :)
I love my stationary bike. I need to start using it again.

It is rainnng soooo hard here tonight. We don't live near a bayou and I'm glad about that. However, our back yard becomes a pool. Yuk

I did good with my points today. I still have 2 left so I'm gonna go get a Skinny Cow.

Blub, blub, blub--
If any has been watching CNN or the Weather Channel, they know that Houston is under water--and I mean under water. We were lucky that it didn't get into our home. The water got up to the sidewalk. However, our backyard was one big pool and water went under the house and into our garage. We have a big job ahead of us, cleaning up the garage.

It's my birthday and the bakery is closed!
No cake :( My husband is getting one from the local grocery store. :(

Have a nice day.

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday Dear Tina,
Happy Birthday to you!!!!!!!!
And Many More!!!!!!!!!!

I think you should celebrate as soon as the bakery re-opens. Have a birth month! I celebrate the entire week. Mine is the 25th.

The EKG was fine, however the hospital is a mess with construction. It took forever waiting for the lab work. Next Friday is the day.

Hang in there. I'm thinking about you. We've had no rain, just looks like it everyday.

Susan, thank you so much for my song.:) That was great.
Guess what----the bakery opened and Larry got the cake. Yeah!!! The icing isn't what he asked for but who cares. ha..ha.. It took the owner and his wife 3 hrs to get to the shop. They live out near IAH (airport). The person who icings the cakes wasn't there, so they did the best they could.

Would you believe, they were doing a wedding today. WoW.....I bet the bride was extra nervous.

How long will you be in the hospital? I sure hope it goes well.

We are going to try making it to Outback Steakhouse tonight. Larry called there and they're open (unless it starts raining again).

I think I'm hungry! Bob isn't home, not sure when he will be. Supper may be bologna sandwiches!

Seafood still sounds good, but you mentioned Outback. I haven't been there in ages. We also like to go to Texas Roadhouse and Longhorn Steakhouse.

Thinking about calling my brothers to see if they want to come over and grill out tomorrow if it doesn't rain. We've had 3 (yes, three!!!) days in a row with no rain.

Tim and I went for a ride in the dune buggy earlier. I was having trouble shifting gears and it was jumping all over the place. How embarrassing! I should drive it where there is no one around that I know! Like in some other state.

Hi,

Tina, I'm so glad that you got a cake and are going out to dinner. Make the day special!! :D Hope ya'll made it safely. Please be careful getting out!

Tammy & Tina, Ya'll are making me hungry for something good. We had pimento cheese sandwiches tonight. I have been eating tomatoes all day long from my garden. Wish ya'll were here to share with you.

I'm only going to be in the hospital for the day. It is day surgery (arthoscopic) I won't be able to drive for at least a week since it is my right knee. I'll be on crutches for a while. Hopefully he won't have to do too much to it. I'll keep you posted.

I rode my bike again today, 3 days in a row. I'm up to 22 minutes and my behind goes numb. I'm working my way up.

I signed up for E-tools on the WW page. It's pretty cool. It figures all of your points etc.... charts your weight loss. I figured trying it would be the only way to see if I liked it.

Afternoon,
Tammy, did you grill out? Seafood does sound good.
We made it to Outback Steakhouse. Oohhh, it was so good. I totally "threw caution to the wind" yesterday (& my pts, too) and enjoyed my birthday. We started off with a grilled shrimp appetizer. There were 6 shrimp. My son didn't want any, so that gave us 2 each. Then came a green salad with everything in it. Then I had a 6 oz. steak with steamed veggies. I was almost too full for cake---did you get that--almost. :)

This afternoon, we drove on an overpass of one of the main freeways. It's really something seeing all that water covering the cars and vans....scarey.
Okay, I'm writing a book here.
Everyone enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Hi folks!

Sorry I haven't been around much the last week. I was in classes all day Tuesday through Friday downtown, and then left for golf school for the weekend. Thank GOODNESS we finally had nice weather -- it was perfect, even if my nose is a bit red this morning .

I didn't weigh in last week because of class. This week should be interesting. I definitely did not eat "well" at golf school (they really didn't have interesting low-fat foods), but with the lessons and golfing, hopefully I burned up many of those calories (not to mention the rather considerable amount of wine we managed to drink at night!:o )

Tina, Happy Belated Birthday!!! Hope it turned out to be wonderful. And I'm glad your water damage isn't worse than it is, although it still doesn't sound like fun. Yuck!

Susan, let us know what you think of the e-tools. I have Weight Commander at home, which I like for the tracking part, but always am on the lookout for new toys!

Tammy, sounds like you had fun with the dune buggy. I've never done that, but did have fun with golf carts over the weekend!

Talk to you all later.

We ended up not grilling out (everyone is always busy!). BUT we have done quite a bit of dune buggy riding. Bob even taught Tim how to drive it in the driveway yesterday! Tim was so excited! He did great considering it is a stick shift!

My nephew plans to be on the H.S. golf team this fall. He has never played golf except for putt-putt. Could be interesting.

Tim plans to run cross country again. He has been running. A friend is here from Tennessee for 6 weeks. Dane is staying at his grandmother's house. He arrived Saturday. So far, they have been swimming, biking, and running. Dane runs cross country and track in Tenn. He's going to work with Tim while he's here. He's 2 years older .

I'm getting back on the track with exercising finally. I have done at least something each day since last Thursday. Even if it's only for 15 minutes each day, that is better than my 0 minutes that I had been doing.

Food was good today. Still not disciplined enough to write everything down like I know I should.

Tina, all the flooding is awfully scary. Glad things are looking better (at least that's what I heard on the radio)

Toodles all!

Hi Everyone,

Hope you have had a good day.

Tammy, 15 minutes a day is good. You have to start off slowly or you'll burn out. The dune buggy sounds like fun. I've never been on one but love our riding lawn mower. I know it's not the same.

Laura, E-Tools is great! It tracks all of your food, points & exercise. You also chart your weight. the cool thing is that it figures out your points if you don't know them. It does alot of the leg work. I really like it alot! :)

Tina, how is the clean up going?

Food was hard for me today. All I wanted to do was eat.

I finally finished a big project. It was so quiet and hum-drum before he was hired. I'm really glad he's here, though.

Tammy, sounds like you will have a busy summer. I can't wait to go back to our friends who have 2 4-wheelers.

Susan, are you nervous about Friday's procedure? I hope it's quick and smooth.

Kimmy-jo, are you on vacation?
Dee, what summer plans do you have?

Tammy, MAJOR kudos on the exercise. That's my biggest bugaboo -- I just find every excuse not to do anything. At least in the summer I'm forced to mow the lawn once a week (there's 30 minutes!) and I'm trying to golf 1-2 times a week, but it's not at all regular. What kind of exercise do you do?

How about everyone else? What gets you moving? I need ideas :)

Sleeping in this morning was in my plans, but Kramer had me up at 5:15. It was thundering in some foreign country and he heard it. Silly dog was crying. Good ol' Tam gets up, lets him out of his cage, and he curled up with me in the recliner. Silly dog. Silly Tam!

My exercise for the most part has been walking. I have also being doing some arm exercises with weights, 3 pound ones to start. Hoping to get back to the 5 pound weights.

Mowing is a big thing here too. I try to do the push mower every time. Sometimes it's just too hot and I'm too lazy so I jump on one of the riding mowers.

Tina, I don't envy your clean up. What a mess. I know what it was like helping others here in town after the tornado about 10 years ago.

I went to the WW site. Is the only way you can use e-tools if you are currently a member of WW?
I guess I need to check out some other sites, or just kick myself in the butt and start writing things down.

Need to leave for now. Tim will be home from basketball camp any time. I'm sure that he'll be starved! I try to keep him happy, then he doesn't grumble so much when I tell him that he has chores to do. LOL

Nothing new here!

Tammy, you have to subscribe to E-Tools. It is $12.95 a month. It's a bummer since we already pay for weekly meetings but I really like it.

Laura, I ride the stationary bike. Especially since I was told to do it everyday by the doctor.

Tina, I'm not nervous about Friday (I've had this done twice before) I'm just ready for it to be over and have my knee stop hurting. Do you need anything for your clean? If so let me know.

Off to watch soaps and to ride the bike.

I've been thinking about getting e-tools but don't want to spend that extra money. :D

About my clean-up----I'm not sure what I need. Any ideas?????
Larry (husband) and I are both taking this Friday off so we can get it done quickly. It really smells musty in there now.
Any suggestions of what to use to clean the garage floor? I guess we could use liquid Spic N Span. I use that to clean my floors inside.

Tina,

Make sure that you use some bleach on the floors so it cuts the mold. If not it will grow back and you will have to clean it again. Do you have any big fans to help dry it out?

Hi all, I haven't been very active at writing lately. I usually do this at work and my workload seems to have doubled lately with some very firm deadlines coming soon.

Tina, sorry to hear about your water situation. I was watching that on the news.

Susan, good luck on your surgery on Friday--you sound pretty comfortable with it.

AHHH Exercise!!! It is my second job  . I live 3 miles from a beautiful state park that has a paved loop measuring 2.5 miles. I used to be able to walk around it in 45 min. without resting and that is my goal. (Course I'm about 25 pounds heavier than I was then). My dog is very good at encouraging Me to want to go for a walk at night. Anyway, I take him out there and we walk for 30-45 min. each night in the forest, along the river. Each night I walk a little farther in the same time.
A real plus is that sometimes my hubby comes along and we actually get time to talk without interruption.

A small request--my cousin's 8 yr old daughter (Allida) is having brain surgery today to remove some tissue that is believed to be causing her epileptic seizures. It is uncertain what other memories or activities that section really controls so the family is really nervous about this surgery. A small prayer for her would be greatly appreciated if you would.

Weighins start tomorrow. Good luck all.

Hi

Linda, I'm thinking about Alida today. I hope everything goes well. Please keep us updated.
You said that you walk with your dog in the forest and along a river. Aren't you afraid to do this? You must have a very safe area.

Susan, no, we don't have any fans. Thank you for telling me about the bleach. I will get some large jugs of it before Friday. I asked my co-hort at work if he'd work for me Fri. He owes me 8 hrs. and he said, "of course."
He is cleaning out his garage also.

Is everyone up for tomorrow??? The answer should be yes.

Hello,

Well, I have to admit, I'm getting a little nervous. Don't know why because I've done this before.

Hope everyone is doing good today. I'm off to have Mexican food at El
Chico's. Wonder if they have shrimp.

evening,

Susan, it's normal to get nervous, I think. I am anxious to know how you are afterwards.
El Chico's-yum......we don't have one of those anymore. Hope you ate lots of rice for me. :)

Tammy, are you out there dune buggy riding?

Linda, Laura, Kimmy-jo, Sis, Addey (where are you?), Maureen---are you out there reading?, Essie--I still remember who you are ;), Dee, Jill, okay, I'm sure I left off a name and I'm so sorry.

Loodie, thoughts and prayers for your niece and the rest of the family. Please let us know how things go.

We planned to drive the dune buggy to church tonight for orchestra practice, but we weren't sure if it was going to storm again. Had another nasty storm this afternoon. It was so strange. On the TV it showed the storm over this entire county, and it wasn't moving! There were flash flood warnings out because it rained so much in such a short amount of time. Not sure how much rain we had here, but a little north of here they had 3-4 inches in about an hour.

I got no exercise in today. Planned to start mowing the yard about 2;00 (after a short nap). At 1:45 it started thundering and lightning, then the sky opened up with all of the rain. So much for the mower!

Susan, I think you are perfectly normal being a little nervous about the surgery. I always do too. I get nervous about the first day of school every year, and I have been teaching 24 years!!!! One year I even had to stop the car and throw up right after I passed a school bus. Talk about dumb!

Thanks for the words of encouragement.

Loodie, You and your family are in my prayers. Please let us know how your cousin daughter does. Her guardian angel will be right there with her.

Dinner was good. I ate just a few chips. I had chicken and mushroom fajitas. They were really good, didn't even eat them all either.

Tammy, I too get nervous the first day of school and sad on the last day of school. I've been teaching 14 years. Lucky you!!!!! you couldn't mow.

It looks like most of the country is having rain. Yuk!

Susan, am I supposed to mix the bleach with water before putting it on the garage floor? Today, someone told me they'd heard of putting a mixture in a spray bottle to spray on the walls. I am worried about the wood.
Tomorrow morning, we start dragging everything out - what fun. Not.
Good luck tomorrow with your surgery-you'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Loodie, I hope all went well with Allida's surgery. I'll keep hopes for a speedy recovery on the front burner.

Susan, good luck with your operation tomorrow. I'm sure all will be well -- make sure to let us know how you're doing!

Tina, have, um, fun? with your garage project! Boy, I don't envy you! But just THINK how many points you'll burn :)

Take care all!

Hi,

Well, trying to make the most of my day. However, I'm slowing down, been up since 4:00 am. Just couldn't go back to sleep after getting up to go to the bathroom.

Tina - mix the bleach with water. I would just spray it on with a spray bottle. I don't think a little will hurt the walls. The bleach will kill the mold off. If not the mold will come back. I made the mistake of cleaning up water under the sink from a leak and not using bleach water. The mold came back. My mom told me about this. Good luck with the clean up!! I know it won't be fun but will be a relief to have it done.

Wow--I hadn't even thought about burning calories-that sounds good to me. I can change my attitude towards the work now. :) If I'm gonna lose some weight then I'll get started early.

I hope everyone has a good Friday (Susan, hope yours goes by quickly.).

Hi all, I'm stuck here at work until late tonight (running production jobs), so thought I would jot off a quick note to let you all know that Allida's surgery was a success per doctors. What exactly that means to Allida--only time can tell. Thanks for your prayers.

I was down .5 this morning--even after all the walking. I did better before I exercised.

Congrats on your loss, too.

I tried to post on the weigh-in thread and it wouldn't let me. So, I'll just let you all know that I am still up 3 pounds.

Today we decided to get the yard mowed before any storms popped up again. We made it! No storms!
First I went around the yard picking up sticks and small limbs that had blown out of trees with all the wind we had this week. Then I push mowed for 40 minutes. That was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay long enough. It was over 90 degrees, and I do not do well with the heat.

Keep us posted on your niece please. It has to be so hard not knowing if there will be any differences in her after the surgery.

Tina

I hope Susan had a quick and successful surgery. Hopefully, she'll feel like getting online soon and letting us know how she is.

We wanted to clean out the garage today. Would you believe, it was raining this morning! Yes!
We got some things out and some things bagged for the trash guys. Tomorrow no rain is expected; so we'll open the door and take everything else out. My dryer smelled terrible. Someone told us how to take care of it. I hope it works. I don't want to buy a new one. We don't have flood insurance -- we have a $500.00 deductible. That's more than a new dryer would cost. :dizzy:

I hope y'all are having a good weekend.

Tammy

This thing seems pretty slow this morning. I almost took a nap while it was loading! LOL

Tina, we've had that deductible problem too when we've been struck by lightning. We've lost a phone (or two), computer modem, the pump on our well where we used to live. These didn't all happen at the same time, so we had to replace out of our own pockets.

Good news! We have $200 that we didn't know we had!! I hadn't balanced our checkbook for a couple of months. Yesterday I sat down to do it. I found 3 mistakes that totaled $200 in our favor! I was excited, but a bit disgusted with myself for making silly mistakes. On one of them, I couldn't read Bob's writing. I thought it was a 4 and it was a 9 ($50 error). In another place, I had written a check for $30, but I deducted $80 (another $50 error). In another spot, I subtracted wrong (or borrowed wrong) for a $100 mistake. Not only do we have the $$ we didn't know we had, but the checkbook BALANCED!!!!!

Bob is having second thoughts about the real estate business. He has had 3 closings, but is very discouraged. He has some possibilites coming up, but he isn't very positive about them. He said that after we go back to school the end of August, he is going to look for a job so he can have a paycheck coming in. I don't want him to give up on the real estate completely and I've told him that. I thought maybe he could just get a part-time job, and still do the real estate. That way he would have time to devote to the real estate. Not sure what he plans to do.

Last year when he made the decision to go to school for this, he was so enthusiastic about a change. Everyone has told him that the first year is the most difficult. He works with great people, and I hate to see him get discouraged so much. Part of his problem too is that he has been sick off and on (mostly on) since Easter. He has been to the doctor 3 times, and has had so many prescriptions since then. The doctor called in a new pres. yesterday and it was over $100. Good thing we found that $200!! Sinus infection, allergies, the doctor isn't even sure what it is and why nothing is helping.

I sure am rambling all over the place this morning aren't I? Need to get going. The dog needs a bath, and so do I. Tim has drum lessons at 12:30. Then we are heading for WalMart to buy important things: paper plates, Pepsi, underwear!!!!

I'm alive. :D Surgery went well. Of course my menicus was torn again but this time on both sides. He said that there wasn't much of it. So he is going to monitor it since I'm a potential knee replacement candiate. I certainly will do everything in my power not to have this. I don't move fast, and crutches are a pain. I'm just lying around with my leg up for the next week.

Tina, sorry about the mess. How will you be able to fix the dryer? I heard ya'll were suppose to get more rain and I thought of you. Hope it doesn't do much, and it is all talk.

Loodie, glad to hear that your niece's surgery was a success.

Tammy, congrats on finding the extra money. Hang in there!!! I'm sorry that Bob is discouraged. I'm sure that the first year is a little slow. I'm sure it will pick up soon. I do know that allergies can make you feel horrible. Has he had allergy testing?

If I missed anyone, sorry. Off to take some pain pills and then a nap. (they make me sleepy.)

Wow, what a pain cleaning up!
I told Larry (husband) that if we had so much trouble just with a garage, I couldn't even imagine what others are going through losing their entire home.

I could see the water mark (we have at least 6 inches)in the garage. Two things upset me----I had stored our son's little rocker and beautiful wooden high chair in there. There was no other place for them. They were ruined. I was saving them for the grandchildren.
Who knows when I'll have any. :)

We put those two things by the curb with a "Free" sign on them. The rocker is gone.
It took forever to get everything out and then get the dirt out and use bleach everywhere. I'm pooped. Wonder how many points I burned? Lots!

Tammy I'm sorry Bob is thinking about giving up on reality. And, congrats on finding that money. I just balance my checkbook--didn't find money, though.

Susan, it's good to hear from you and know you're okay. I've never been on crutches but they look like they'd be hard to operate.
Take it easy.

Got to fininsh birthday shopping for Larry. He gets Father's Day and a b.day tomorrow.

Stay OP everyone.

Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. The weather here was beautiful, although now we're settling in for a week of rain.

Anyone know how much hair weighs? I got my hair cut yesterday (she took about 2 inches off, which was a tad more than I wanted, but it will grow back :) ), and I was down almost 4 pounds on the scale this morning. I'd like to believe that was from eating sensibly, working out in the yard and the end of TOM, but the hair thing seems awfully suspicious!

Tina, I'm glad your cleaning up is behind you. What an awful mess! But yes, I'm sure you burned OODLES of points!

Susan, I'm so happy to hear the surgery went well. After having been on crutches so often the past several years, I can certainly empathize. Hopefully you have someone to wait on you hand and foot!

Tammy, if you run out of ideas on how to spend your found money, holler. I'm sure I can help :s:

I'm not feeling so hot today, so I might go home early and tuck into bed with some soup (soup?! It's 90 degrees, humid and rainy out! I MUST be sick!). Talk to ya later.

Hi everyone!

Laura, I'm sorry you're feeling yucky. Soup??? You're right-that doesn't sound too good in this heat. :) Please take care and feel better soon--maybe tomorrow.

Mosquitos are everywhere. You open your car and they are waiting for you. Open your front door and they come in. We used a whole can of Off while working in the garage. I feel for our kitty. He doesn't even have fleas this year; but the mosquitos are after him!

Take care all.

Hello,

Well, it is a pain to be chair bound. The only time I'm allowed to get is up is to go to the bathroom (husband's order.) He went to work today, thank goodness!! :dizzy: He has been great but I think it would do me some good to get up a little. Still sore and real swollen. The under arms are raw from the cruthches.

Laura, Hope you are feeling better. I don't think your hair was worth 4 pounds. It's because you worked hard.

Tina, poor kitty  I wonder if a flea collar would help with the Texas size Mosquitos!!! Hopefully the town will come around and spray. So are you one big bite?

I have my laptop so I'm able to surf and watch soaps at the same time (while the knee is up.)

it is a beautiful day! I am being soooo lazy on my day off. It's grand. :)

Susan, enjoy lazing off while you can. It will probably help that knee to heal faster, too.
Would you believe, I can't find any mosquito bites on me! That's strange. I'm sure there are some somewhere. We went into the garage last night and there weren't any. Unfortunately, we opened the side garage door. They were all waiting out there around the trash-old boards, etc. I ran inside to get my OFF.

Hope everyone is having a great day.
Laura, I'm going for a hair cut. Think I will lose at least 1/2 pound???

Tammy, have you spent all your "found money" yet?

Hello all, just wanted to jot off a note before you think I deserted you all again.

Tina, good job on getting the garage cleaned. I know what a yucky job that can be. Mosquitos don't help it at all.

Susan, glad to hear you are able to take it easy for awhile, but still be able to exercise (Isn't surfing the web exercise???) javascript:smilie('') If you are having problems with crutches--would a walker work better? Both my daughter & I have one, that we use on occasion, because it gives us greater freedom of movement.

Tammy, good job on finding money when balancing your checkbook. I always seem to lose money. Want to balance mine?? :^:

Laura, I got to tell you that you have got some really thick, heavy hair if having 2" cut off is worth 4 pounds. Congrats on the loss. I had 10" cut off mine a few months ago and I couldn't even tally a pound loss. Oh well.

Well better go--tomorrow is my weigh in day so I need to be sure not to have excessive salt today and drink my water. Good luck to you too.

Tammy

Susan, crutches have always looked like a pain to use. Since I'm not very coordinated, that would probably be the case! Take it easy! A lady from church has had both of her knees replaced in the past year. Now she is looking at ankle surgery. She isn't a spring chicken, so all of these surgeries have not been easy on her.

Bob has never been tested for allergies. Wonder if he should mention that when he is at the doctor again? His boss is allergic to everything! He and his wife took the other realtors and spouses to a dinner theater at Christmas. Don was very choosy about what he ate, but he ended up having an allergic reaction while we were there. Luckily he had his medication with him.

I won't have any trouble about spending that $200 I found! Thanks for your offers to help though. A friend of mine asked me if I'd like to go to Epcot Center before I go back to school. Her daughter is working there this summer. She thought maybe the two of us could fly down for a couple days to see Mandy. I'd love it!!! Mandy was one of my 2nd graders many years ago.

I always like to think that if I get my hair cut I'll lose weight. Trouble is, I keep my hair pretty short anyway, so I usually just get it trimmed. Maybe an ounce comes off?

I hate mosquitoes! Tim goes to a Boy Scout camp that they have nicknamed Mosquito Valley. A very appropriate name. Avon's Skin So Soft works on mosquitoes for some people. (no I don't sell Avon)

Need to get out of here and go finish the laundry. One of my favorite things to do. NOT.

This is running slow today. Or maybe it is just me.

Think I'm on the road to recover because I want tacos from Taco Bell, chinese food, pizza and chicken. :o It is a good thinkg that I can't drive right now. Each day my knee gets a little stronger hopefully in the next week, I'll be walkiing with both crutches.

Tammy, Poor lady at church! If you would like to do some extra wash, just holler. I have plenty. Go to Epcot Center! That would be fun! As far as the allergies, Bob could be allergic to anything. He should mention it to his doctor.

Loodie, Surfing is my kind of exercise. I'm doing a good job of it. Wonder how many points I'm earning? ;)

Tina, how was the day off? Hope you did absolutely nothing.!!!

I watched the movie "Anna and the King." It was great!! Off to see what is coming on next.

Have a GRAND day!!
Susan
