I just got my period so I feel so yucky. Its been an over all bad week. I've been moody and bloated. My son has been in such a bad mood too. I've still been journaling and I've worked out 4 times but I feel so gross. This would normally be when I get off track and binge so I am trying really hard just to let the naturally bloat from TOM pass and stay on track. I'll let you guys know how I do.

How is everyone planning for the weekend. this is ussually my worst time but I have so much to do I do't think I'll be able to fit eating in ;)

Hi Jennie -

Aunt Flo was nice enough to give me a visit too  . I hate that witch she makes life so much harder for us. The week before your a _itch and then you get the cramps and everything else that goes with it for 4-6 days. Not to mention the cravings :dizzy: .

Oh Well I still stuck with my plan. Eating healthy and exercising :D .

Hey my partners ! Hope everyone is having a great day. Mine was fine until this evening...then the most embarrassing thing happened.

My husband and I often go out to dinner on a Friday or Saturday night to the same restaurant. One of the waitresses, who we haven't seen for awhile, came up to our table and said to me "is it my imagination or have you put on quite a bit of weight in the last month". So I laugh it off, all the while thinking man this ladies has balls to be saying something like that to a customer. Then she proceeds to ask how long before the baby arrives.. for some reason she thinks I am pregnant.. which I am not. How embarrassing :o ... and what can you do but laugh it off while she is standing there; however, afterwards I felt like all eyes were on me and I wanted to crawl under a rock.

I don't think I will be going back to that restaurant for a while..

Deerod, thanks for keeping this group going. I think it will be great support for all of us. :)

Jeannie and Lisa ~ Well done with keeping on plan!! Don't cave into the cravings :dizzy:

Well I think that's a wrap for me. I am going to crawl into bed with my book. Take care and chat soon.

diet (currently on or planning to start): DIET MY DR. AND A DIETICIAN HAS ME ON

I started yesterday and I don't feel well, so the combo of the two has me feeling very ill

I did get to see my son's new apt today :smug: which is very nice

Then the girls and I ran to :mcd: but I had a grilled sandwich and a diet drink :D

Now I'm tired :(

04-30-2005, 02:39 PM
Hi Teri - I can beleive that waitress said that to you. People need to think before the talk and that was just rude. To bad you could'nt have thought of an equally rude question for her ;) . Don't worry we are all here for you :D .

Hi Jeannine - WELCOME

Kim - Keep up the good work. A grilled sandwich and diet coke is better then a big mac and regular coke. What is the diet your doctor has put you on?

Talk to you Ladies later

04-30-2005, 03:28 PM
momx3 - My Dr. and the dietician has me on some kind of 11 day diet - Mainly protien -I'm supposed to eat 4x's a day, but it's hard for me to do so - Tomorrow is my Veggie and Fruit day, no meat and I'm to eat 3x's not 4 - then after the 11th day I can eat anything I want for 3 days - then it's back to my diet for 11 days.

I like it. It's way easier for me to do, than WW, because I had too many choices with WW, with this diet I have it all written out for me :)

04-30-2005, 03:51 PM

P.S. Uncle TOM and Aunt Flo are visiting me this week also, IT SUCKS!!!!!

04-30-2005, 05:06 PM
kclay61 - I know what you mean. It's harder to stray when they are telling you exactly what you can and can't have. GOOD LUCK

Alchina- Of course you are welcome :D . The more the merrier. I am doing curves and trying to only weigh once a month which I have already cheated on. Yesterday I weighed myself on my scale at home and had lost 3 lbs. That's with aunt flo. However I am not counting that. My next weigh is not until the 20th but I'm sure I will be on mine at home before then :^: . I can't help myself  .

04-30-2005, 05:44 PM
I go to WW and my weigh in is tomorrow, sunday. I'm still extra bloated from TOM but I hope it goes OK. I'm hopeing for a stay the same week, I know I didn't lose.
keep up the good work.

04-30-2005, 05:48 PM
Must be something in the water..... I too am just finishing up with TOM...yuck!! Add into that, the fact that my dr. thinks (along with me) that I am starting perimenopause!!! and I'm only 44yo!!!! I am so hot, cold, cranky, tired, not sleepy, moody and DIETING all at the same time!!! LOL

* Clipclop, the same thing happened to me at work one day. I worked at a store and a regular customer who hadn't been in for awhile, said..."congratulations"....hmm, for what I said?....the baby!! Like you, I said oh no!!...haha, but on the inside I was dying. Good thing the store wasn't busy and she was alone. I think I went home and put the outfit I was wearing right into the goodwill box.

Hope everyone has a great OP weekend. My weighin's are Monday, so I have to be good. tc

Hi Everyone!! sorry I didn't drop in yesterday.. it's been real busy.. well today was my cheat day and you know what...??... everything I wanted to eat that was bad didn't taste as good as it use to.. I'm real happy with that.. and even though I said I wouldnt weight myself for a month.. I just couldnt resist stepping on that scale.. and guess what..??... I'm down to 263.. yep.. 8 lbs.. yea!!! go me.. I've been eating low fat low cal. walking everyday and doing aerobics tapes every other day.. after I get in better shape I plan to do some toning with weights... see. if I can come this far.. everyone can.. together we WILL do this

she proceeds to ask how long before the baby arrives.. for some reason she thinks I am pregnant.. which I am not. How embarrassing :o ... .

oh ClipClop.. I'm sooo sorry.. I know how bad that sucks.. a couple of years ago.. my husband and I went to eat and I ran into the parents of an old friend of mine from high school.. she ran up to me and rubbed my belly and said.. Oh my GOD!!.. when are you due?? and I was like whoa... !! I'm not pregnant.. and to make things even worse, she then proceeded to ask me "are you sure?".. you think at that moment in time I would've put myself on a diet,, but noooooo.. not me.. I got the EXTRA big plate that day.. :dizzy: maybe next time if you see that waitress, you can tell her that her sex change is almost completely un-noticable.. (ha ha ha.. evil wicked laughter)

Deerod, thanks for keeping this group going. I think it will
no my friends.. THANK YOU.. with just me this is nothing.. it takes all of us to make this a great thread..

well my beauty queens, i'm off to visit with some friends.. I will check in with ya'll tomorrow..

CONGRATS .

05-01-2005, 11:56 AM
GDay all my PICs !!

Thanks for your support over my restaurant episode. I can usually wing out some good one liners; however, like angel-eyes said as much as you are in shock that someone said that you are dying inside.

Oh well that was definately the final straw, so now the serious watching what I eat starts .... so maybe in some weird way it was good that it happened :?: (although I wouldn't wish that feeling on anyone).

Welcome to everyone who has joined us over the past few days and good luck to all of you on your weigh-ins. :D

DEEROD ~ 8 lbs.. you go girl !! That must feel great and I know you have worked your tail off for it.. you deserve it ! :encore:

ALCHINA ~ I know that feeling of walking into a room of people that haven't seen you since you lost a lot of weight. All eyes will be on you.. enjoy the feeling ! Congrats on your 60 lbs !! :smug:

Well, I guess I should get the day started. I am on holidays this week, so trying to get all my housework done yesterday/today so that I can enjoy the week.

Take care and TTYS.

I've read your posts and believe I've found my forum home. Here are some details about me:

name: Michelle
location: Houston
age: 63
sex: female
highest weight: 258
current weight (last weigh in): 252
goal weight: 125
current clothing size: 1X
goal: to be healthier by 65
inspiration: I read a book called “The Gift of a Year” where one is to determine the long lost dream and give oneself a year to devote to this dream. Over my adult lifetime, I've averaged putting on 5 pounds a year and never trying seriously to lose it. I am happy with how I look, but I want to have better health. After pondering, I decided to treat myself to the gift of about 1 ˝ years to get in good health by eating correctly and exercising and getting my blood sugar in a healthy range. Now when I concentrate on what I’ve always known I should do, it is not a deprivation, but a gift to myself.

Hello all PIC!! I've been doing great on the food. even with all the trash food in the house. One of our stores had triple coupons and I got the kids alot of stuff for the summer. Spent $40 and saved $70/ Then went to another store yesterday to get my food, spent $70 and saved $60! So on budget I've done great. :p But ME feeling like yuk! My neck hurts and my left arm is tiglling ( I was in accident 6months ago and still have problems, Thank goodness it was not my fault!) But I'm sore!
On the weight I just wish I felt like I has loss some. My DH says he can tell and we can do things like we could before kids!! ;)

And my son is a momma's boy and will not stay in the nursery so my dad watches him but I can not ask him to watch one more. and on Wed my oldest has a field trip so we are going to the Zoo!!!! Good Afternoon everyone - I am being SO lazy today - I didn't get out of bed until 1:30, but, then again, I didn't go to bed until 4:30 - I might have to get DH later on today, but that's not a for sure - he might just drive the company truck home - I need to get some groceries, but can't until DH gets home, so....................

Congrats to all the "loosers" in the group. I weigh in tomorrow *gulp* I think I did well tho, so I'm keeping that in mind.

Today is my fruit and veggie day, but I have no fruit, yet, so veggies are first on the menu. Hmmmm, green beans, I think that is all I have - dang I need some groceries.

Have a great Sunday

05-01-2005, 04:06 PM

howdy my "PIC" princesses... today has been going good.. I had my scheduled cheat day yesterday, and I'm back on track today.. I actually stayed under 20 grams of fat, and under 1300 calories.. which is way too low.. but I find it funny that I managed to get those totals without trying so hard and we went out to KFC for dinner.. my legs are soooo sore, I guess from the days of walking and excercise.. and I only had like 3 hours of sleep last night because we had company... but I still managed to work out and go walking.. and you know what? Richard Simmons kicked my a$$..... I *assumed* that these tapes would be easy but good for you.. uh.. no.. he is a dancing queen/dancing fool.. and I sweated my butt off.. my legs and thighs are soooo sore.. but I still managed to go for a walk... ladies.. I swear I am going to do it this time.. thank you for being here for me... and I hope you all have a wonderful day because you are all wonderful people..

ps.. Welcome to all you newbies.. cant wait to hear more about you.. & feel free to vent anytime.. some of us might not know what to say, but we can all listen and take to heart..

ROFLMAO!!!!! You are hilarious! I snorted tea on the monitor

05-02-2005, 10:48 AM
Hi folks,
Well, I had my WI, down .8. I'll take it, at least it not a gain. plus it was TOM. This week will be a good one.
I had quite a hectic weekend, Friday started off bad, after work, my son was to have a base ball practice and he threw a fit so we didn't go. It was all because he didn't like how his baseball pants fit. I had left a lot of stuff in the car thinking we would be out of the house fast and my car got broken into. ahhh....then saturday was OK but busy, no time for excersise, sunday was my moms b-day and my son again had a temper tantrum he cheered up in time for baseball and we got to his game but I ended up eating there because I was bored/stressed, not sure, the hotdogs just smelled so good. I didn't eat a lot but enough to make me feel bad. I still journaled it all including my moms birthday dinner. So I used up most of my flex points for the week. Today is a new day and a new week so I am goiong to pretend it didn't happen, take a deep breath, and move on.

Deerod, great loss, how long has it been? Maybe I should pitch my scale for a month, I'm totally addicted.

Alchina, was everyone at the shower oogling over your lose? I can't wait until I have lost that much weight.

Clipclop, how is WW online? I go to the meetings so i'm just curious. I think its a good thing to spend the money on.

workit, I wish I could stay on budget like that. I went to the store and spent $72 but only save $8. I need to find a triple coupon place.

Hi everyone else, I hope you all have a good week. I gotta run but I am gonna make this week count!

05-02-2005, 11:30 AM
Hi folks,
Deerod, great loss, how long has it been? Maybe I should pitch my scale for a month, I'm totally addicted.

well.. I first weighed myself on april 17th.. but I didnt really put any effort into it.. I still pretty much ate what i wanted and didnt exercize .. but I finally put my heart and soul into it last Monday April 25th.. I wrote down everything I've eaten monday-friday,I leave Saturday blank, because I am NOT going to feel guilty for having a cheat day. Monday-Friday. I counted calories and fat.. trying to stay under 1600 calories and 30 grams of fat... then mon-fri.. I walked about 1 mile per day.. on weds, sunday, and friday.. me and my sister in law did aerobic tapes.. and my CHEAT DAY was Saturday... believe me.. that cheat day really helps me stay motivated.. usually after a couple of days of not eating everything I want, I finally give in and eat it, and I loose track and dont get back on my diet.. I've basically been living on frozen dinners and pre packaged food.. it takes all the guess work out of calculating my totals.. and for other things I use the 2005 calorie king bood.. ( I love that book)... I use to always say that it would be too expensive to by those frozen dinners. but in reality it ends up being cheaper for me.. I spend about $30-$40 a week on food.. compared to per day.. since me and my husband usually went out to dinner and it was never less that $20.. plus at my work.. no one brings there lunch so I would go out for lunch monday - friday and spend between $8-$10 per day.. and it seems to be working for me.. plus just knowing that all you wonderful people are watching me makes me work even harder.. I would feel so guilty posting that I quit because I was too lazy.. so I'm working even harder to get to my goal.. well sorry to keep rambling on.. I'm just really excited that I've been working so hard.. I will check in with ya'll later..

05-02-2005, 01:32 PM
hi everyone.. I just realized I forgot to tell ya'll something really important to me.. well as you already know.. I'm on a mission to loose weight.. well I recruited my sister n law to do it with me (she lives like 8 houses away so its really great motivation and easy to get together) she wears a size 18-20 and I'm a 22-24 so we arent too far away from each other.. well heres the big news.. we got my husband and his brother to agree that if we both get to our goal of size 12 (we plan to get lower than that, buth thats our first mission) then we both get to have a day at the spa.. but the catcher is that we both have to do it.. if only one of us makes it then it doesnt count, so not only are we hard on ourselves.. we push each other.. I just thought it was an awesome idea.. and I thought I would share it with ya'll keep your fingers crossed for us..

05-02-2005, 02:17 PM

current clothing size: 24, 26, 28 (whichever is more comfortable)
goal clothing size: 16/18
kids: None yet, hopefully in the future.
pets: 4 kitties.
diet (currently on or planning to start): Currently working on The 'Entire half-pound bags of M-Ms :m: are not a meal' diet.

I work in a cubicle all day, and I believe there was something in the job description stating that you must binge of whatever is available for 8 straight hours... :moo: :comp:

I absolutely love coffee with tons and tons of sugars, but my rear-end has objected, and my favorite jeans are becoming my favorite drawer liners!!. So, it is now time for me to my myself on the front burner, and get some of the junk out of my trunk!! (with the help of hopefully some new friends. ;) (

05-02-2005, 04:25 PM
looking to loose.. omg.. you are too funny.. you are gonna fit right in.. I use to work in a cubicle.. I hated it.. but now I miss it.. what kinda of diet are you going to go on.. or what changes are you planning to make.??

05-02-2005, 04:37 PM
Hello everyone  Thought I would drop in and see what was going on.

I stepped on the scale this morning and found that I had lost 3.5lbs! WooHoo! :goodscales:

Needless to say I am happy :D

Now to find something to eat :)

05-02-2005, 04:50 PM
I haven't really selected a 'diet' per se, but just modifying what I am eating. Mostly switching back to skim milk (which I used to drink), eating whole grain breakfast, like toast or oatmail and some fruit (which I have been skipping for eons), low-sugar or sugar-free items (like sugar-free candy drops with a glass of water when I think I'm 'starving', and trying to choose non-deep fried items. Small baby step changes. Like, the long lost art of water drinking!! I've started to exercise. I carpool to work in the morning, but then I walk home in the afternoons, It is almost an exact mile walk, which at first was overwhelming, because it does not seem that far in the car...but I keep a steady pace and do the best I can.

05-02-2005, 05:14 PM
kclay - GONGRATS!!! on 3.5 lbs :goodscale. You go girl :cheer:. I'm so happy for you.

looking2lose - Welcome:high:. You crack me up . I am also trying to eat healthy and drink lots and lots of water.

05-02-2005, 05:25 PM
I stepped on the scale this morning and found that I had lost 3.5lbs! WooHoo!
WAY TO GO!!!!...

looking2loose: even baby steps can get you around the world.. keep up the good work..

Gday my fellow PICers !! This group is growing.. that is awesome !

I have the week off work and school (i work full time and go to school at night), so working on relaxing and taking some time for myself. I am also going to spend the week exploring WW online and getting ready to change my lifestyle. I know it will take alot so getting myself fully prepared and then jumping in with both feet on Sunday.

ASHAVISON ~ i was attending WW meetings before, but got so busy and so off track that I stopped going. I am glad that there are others here following WW as we can keep each other on track.

MINNIE ~ Welcome ! You have found a great group of people and we are all here to share and support one another. :)

DEEROD ~ great plan with the spa... you will love it ! I am treating myself to the spa on Friday (massage, facial and pedicure)... You will be treated like a queen and will love every minute of it :queen: What a great goal to work towards.

JENNIE ~ congratulations on your loss, sounds like you have had a hectic few days. I don't know how you moms can keep it together.. all the respect to you :cp:

LOOKING2LOSE ~ Welcome to the group... sounds like you will keep on laughing  Great medicine for us all !!

KCLAY ~ yahoo, you big loser (and i mean that in the best possible way) !!! We are all doing the happy dance for you. Keep up the good work !

Well ladies I am off to enjoy a nice warm cup of coffee :coffee: The weather here has been dark and dreary all day so will curl up on the couch with the puppy and see what's on TV.

Take care and TTYS

05-02-2005, 08:25 PM
Thanks everyone - I feel so proud of myself - I'm really sticking to my guns this time around - I guess the Dr. really put the scare into me ;)

05-02-2005, 08:57 PM
Hi everyone. I have also been looking for a place to call home and this looks like it may be it. I don't have one of those cute weight loss meters at the bottom of my post but I need to lose about about 80 lbs. Here's my intro:

name: Mary
location: PA
gender: female
marital status: single
age: 39-really!
highest weight: 265
current weight: 235
goal weight: 150
kids: 0
pets: 2 dogs, Kobe and Buddy
diet: low carb- closest to Atkins although I didn't start out this way. I am having a hard time losing weight on this diet although I am having an easy time sticking to it. I have tried numerous other diets in the past and did weight watchers for a long time and was very successful (I lost 50 lbs) only to gain 30 of it back.

05-02-2005, 09:51 PM
well ladies I made it through my first week. Stuck to healthy eating and worked out everyday but Sat. I was so tempted to weigh myself tonight at curves but I am so scared to be disappointed :( . If I wait until my first weigh and measure I won't know what's going on until the 20th . Oh well I will try to be good .

Petra - welcome

kclay - you are getting really close to having that grandbaby :bb: (well not you technically). You must be so excited :cb: .

05-02-2005, 10:39 PM
I just wish my g'baby would want to be here - he is hanging on for dear life - and he's making his mommy very miserable.

05-03-2005, 12:05 AM
Hi and welcome.. make yourself at home..

I don't have one of those cute weight loss meters at the bottom of my post but I need to lose about about 80 lbs.
if you want one, you can just click on the quick links tab in the purple lines towards the top.. then click on edit signature and it will tell you how to do it step by step..

diet: low carb- closest to Atkins although I didn't start out this way. I am having a hard time losing weight on this diet although I am having an easy time sticking to it.
I did really good on atkins the first time I tried it 60lbs lost.. but I'm not a big meat eater, and I love startches and fruits and vegetables.. I've never been able to get back on that wagon.. little things on that diet can stall your weight loss.. I wish you the best on your goal..

everyone on this thread are wonderful people.. feel free to vent and share anything you want..

05-03-2005, 10:09 AM
Today is the day. I am actually going to start journaling what I put in my mouth today. Physically writing it down so I actually have to look at it. Instead of binging on it and spending the day in denial that it occurred. Filled up my 1st jug of water for the week, and am ready to roll.

Have a wonderful day everyone!! :hyper: :crossed: (

05-03-2005, 10:52 AM
I also keep a journal.. Its a little but fat notebook that I carry with me everywhere I go and right beside it I have the calorie kings calorie, fat, and carb counter.. I will not eat anything unless I know the nutritional content of it. It helps me to stay on track..

05-03-2005, 12:35 PM
Good Morning PICs !!

Not sure why I am up so early on my holidays, although I find sleeping in near impossible. Oh well, I will have to have an afternoon nap :dz:

I am pretty happy this morning. I wrote 2 final exams a week and a half ago and my marks were finally posted this morning... and I passed both classes.. phew. :D I am on a pretty tight school timeline, so failing was not an option. So another week off and then back to the books.

PETRA ~ Welcome Aboard. You have found a great bunch of ladies to chat with and share good and bad times.

MOMX3 ~ congrats on making it through your first week. :cp: Keep up the good work and it will pay off on the scale.

LOOKING2LOSE ~ journaling is a very powerful tool, as long as you write everything down... if you bite it write it. :cbg: I find that when I start to get off track it is usually because I am not being honest with myself. Even if you gain, at least if you have your journal you will be able to look back and figure out where you went wrong. Good Luck.. you can do this !

DEEROD ~ how's it going girl ? You have such a great attitude and are very motivating... keep with it ! :flow1:

Well, I will check in later. Have a great day and keep on keeping on !!

05-03-2005, 01:37 PM
Hello everyone.. how are you all doing today??

clipclop.. congrats on your exams... I am so proud of you and thanks for all the kind words.. I try to be motivational because I know how hard it is to lose weight when nobody believes in you.. and I believe in ALL of you...

I hope everyones day or night is going well and I cant wait to hear from all of you...

05-03-2005, 02:33 PM
Hi Ladies,
How are you all doing? Last night I was so hungry and for dinner we had meatloaf, with mac and cheese, and a spinach salad. I didn't each a whole lot of it but I got so crazy full feeling. I havn't had anything quite so heavy in a while so even with the smaller portion, it was to much. Crazy to think how fast your stomach can shrink or what ever.....

anyway, I got up earlly and went to the gym before work. I ussually have a hard time getting my son to school early and getting to the gym but I always want to. It was a good work out, I did 55 min on the treadmill, about 3.75 miles. I'll do pillates tonight at home to. I love pillates, it makes my big fat legs look longer and leaner.

I'm still journaling strong. I think its a really good thing to do its just one of the hardest things to get started.

Hope everyone has a great day and keep up the good work.

05-03-2005, 03:22 PM
Jennie: I have always wanted to try Pillates at home, but there are so many videos, and its on tv, etc., I am not sure where to start. Any suggestions on a video to try out? (also, I never met anyone that does it either). :spin:

(had to change my meter...that big number down to that little number was sort of stressing me out) :( (

05-03-2005, 04:32 PM
Momx3 - why do you wait so long to weigh in? My dr. told me to weigh once a week bcs that is your true weight - she also told me to weigh, during the middle of the week to see if I need to "tweek" my eating habit(s) - Just wondering, don't mean to be nosey

05-03-2005, 05:37 PM
kclay - you can ask whatever you want. I am an open book . Actually the reason I am trying to weigh once a month is because I am doing curves which also focuses on inches. I'm scared that if I weigh I may not have lost weight but I may have lost inches and I don't want to discourage myself if I don't see a loss on the scale. Does that make sense ?

05-03-2005, 06:17 PM
OK yeah that makes sense - You're stronger than I am - I can't stand to not weigh once a week ;)

05-03-2005, 07:07 PM
kclay - Curves only weighs and measures once a month so I 1) have to wait  2) can weigh myself at home which I don't want to do because it is a different scale and I won't get true results or 3) weigh myself at curves which may happen because I am weak and driving myself crazy .

05-03-2005, 09:27 PM
My goodness ladies, I weigh myself every day whether I should or not. You just have to learn not to let it determine how you are going to feel for the whole day. Looking2lose, the journaling thing is a great idea. You will be amazed at what you have been eating. I started journalling today too but for a different reason. I started this low carb thing almost exactly 2 months ago today and have lost only 7 lbs so far. I have been an absolute angel on this diet--not one cookie, or piece of chocolate, or donut (and you can't imagine how many of those things are floating around my office) in the past 2 months and I have only lost 7 lbs. I actually had my thyroid checked last week because I thought something must be wrong. So now I am writing everything down because if I don't start losing soon, I'm making an appointment to see the doctor to find out what is going on here. My little ketostix are turning purple so those pounds should be coming off.

05-03-2005, 10:15 PM
Can I call this my home too? ;) I think I may be the heviest here, but I'm willing to commit to loosing some of this weight!! The doctor hasn't put me on any plan yet he wants to get the Thyroid thing undercontrol first but I don't want to wait untill he puts me on a diet I need to get my self healthy

name: MoonRay

current weight (last weigh in): 350
goal weight: 200
current clothing size: 30-32

05-03-2005, 10:38 PM
Good evening everyone! So tomorrow is my weigh in day and I'm bummed, because I haven't started an exercise plan yet and I really need to.
What is everyone else doing. How often, how long?

Would anyone want to be a workout buddy?!
I have been journalling for the last two weeks, and I can really tell that my portion sizes have changed since I had to write it down.

Welcome Moonray, congrats on your exams ClipClop!

05-03-2005, 10:40 PM
Hey Moonray - Of course you are welcome . We would love to have you with us. You will meet alot of wonderful ladies willing to help here :D.

Where do you live in California? I'm in Sacramento.

05-03-2005, 10:48 PM
Ashavision - Good luck on the weigh-in :goodscale.

I am doing curves 3 days a week and the treadmill 3 days a week. I don't really care what I do as long as I do something. When I have been at it awhile I will probably add tae-bo. I used to do it all the time. Also I am a black belt although I have not practiced in about 5 years  so it's fun to stretch the old muscles.

You can do whatever you are comfortable with and if you want we can be accountable to each other. I never want to feel like I let someone else down so this will make sure I get busy.

05-03-2005, 10:51 PM
Clipclop - Congrats on passing your classes :bravo:. That must be a huge weight off your shoulders :cp:. Keep up the good work girl!!!!

05-04-2005, 12:06 AM

Hi! I have just read every single post in this thread and am glad i found you guys from the original 130 thread....

I get the feeling you are a great group. I have so much personal junk going on ( getting ready to be away from my husband for one year, living with my parents for the year he is gone ( WHAT AM I DOING ---lol) and struggling to lose..
I have determined i'm gonna make these 12 months FOR ME --- and focus ON ME 100% so i can be the best mom with more energy!
I need help and support though..and although my mom is here to encourage and support me, i have to admit anytime she makes ANY comment on my food choice, or suggestion to exercise, it really drives me nuts....

05-04-2005, 12:16 AM
Good Evening PICs ! Just thought I would check in quickly before I sit down to watch American Idol and Amazing Race... I am a reality TV junkie !! Good mindless TV after a day at work and school :D

Thanks to you all for your congratulations on my exams. School starts again on Tuesday, so I need to get on track quickly with my eating so that I can plan properly for being back to school 2 nights a week.

JENNIE ~ Great job at getting to the gym before work !! :cheer:

PETRA ~ stick with it girl !! Journaling will definately point to anything that may be getting you off track. Hopefully it is nothing more than that :crossed:

MOONRAY ~ Welcome !! We all have a long journey ahead of us and are here to provide support and encouragement. Join in on the conversations, look for help when you need it, and most importantly have fun !! :goodluck:

ASHAVISON ~ Exercise will come. You should be happy that you are following a good eating plan, and then everything else will start to fall into place. I know for me that exercise is really important, if I am not watching what I am eating and not exercising then I am in real trouble. Right now my exercise of choice is walking. Keep at it and you can be accountable to all of us.. we will help to keep you on track ! :tread:

MOMX3 ~ thanks for the congrats !! Sounds like you are keeping very busy in the exercise department.. good for you !! :cb:

Well time for me to say goodnight to my lovely PICs.. take care and keep on keeping on !

05-04-2005, 11:09 AM
Good Morning all! I've got a few minutes before I need to get back to work..

SMILES & MOON: WELCOME!! :grouphug: I have never in my life met a group of gals as welcoming, inspiring, and supportive as I have here (where I call home). Especially to finally find a forum such as this where I feel so incredibly comfortable here, and am learning that I am not alone.

Gotta vent: I work in a cubefarm full of string-beans eating broccoli and jogging up & down the 20+ flights of stairs for fun 3 times a day and then say 'you should really join us, it would do you some good.' I think to myself...uh, no thank you, I would prefer not to have a heart attack today!

Thank you for all the support my fellow PICs, with journaling and all of your input. It was worth it. I looked at what I ate and I almost fainted..whoa....I should have saved my writing hand and just ate a loaf of bread!! (pretty much lived on carbs yesterday). I think I will make a mobile for my cubicle of fruits and vegetables and see if it works like subliminal messaging.

sounds like some pretty positive things are coming all of our ways, and I am so very happy that all of our paths met. Well, now that I have written a small novel, back to work (and my giant water that is staring me down ;)

Have a WONDERFUL day everyone!! (

05-04-2005, 11:57 AM
Hi Ladies,
How is everyones day. I got up today and did my Pilates tape. I hope to get to the gym later. Looking2lose, I have heard that the Windsor Pilates are the best. When you buy them, you get 2 or three tapes and it has good beining/intermediat/advanced options. I didn't have enough fot them so I got the MTV pilates, it seems good but its only one option on there which is 45 minutes so I just have to have that much time. Its good though, I like it. Some times I do the ones on my digital cable, they are 20 min.

MomX3, I could never weigh in once a month, i am so addicted to my scale I weigh petty much every morning. I know I need to cut down but that would just take to much will power to wait. I do think its good though becaus ethen you see biggger results.

Ashavisiion, how was the WI?

Heather and MOONRAY, welcome!

Clip Clop, gotta love the reality TV. I am hooked on the realworld/roadrules challange, I feel like I'm to old to be watching it but there is just so much drama, I love it.

Hope eveyone else is haveing a good day.

05-04-2005, 12:13 PM
Good Morning PIC !!
Well I am up and at it early again today. One of these days maybe I will sleep in... NOT.. after 8 hours in bed, parts of me just don't move like they are suppose to ;)

Well today is the day that I must go look for some clothes. The weather here is starting to get a little to warm for slacks and sweaters, and it seems that all of the spring/summer clothes have shrunk... man I hate that !

I do not like shopping at the best of times; however, when I have to buy a size that makes me cringe I like it even less. Oh well it must be done, so I will suck it up and go see what I can find.

SMILESAREPRICELSS ~ Glad that you found us ! Sounds like you have a great plan set for yourself for the next 12 months. Just imagine the look on your husband's face when he sees you... VAVAVAVOOM !!! :spin: Lean on us as much as you like, you have found a great place for support.

LOOKING2LOSE ~ you have got me laughing this morning  Sounds like we work in similar offices. Let me know how the mobile works out.. I can just imagine the look on your co-workers faces..LOL

Well, I am off to start the day. I will check in later and let you all know how my adventures at the mall went *ARGGG*. Until then keep on keeping on !!

05-04-2005, 02:06 PM
:dizzy: Hello my PIC angels.. how is everyone doing today? I'm doing good.. a little worried, because I'm going to meet some friends for lunch and the place they chose to go to does not have a nutritional guide.. I called the resteraunts corporate office, but they only could suggest to send a portion of my food to a lab. :?: .. well maybe I can just get a salad.. we are going to a seafood place called Sea Island... I would suggest to go somewhere else, but I havent seen my friends in months and they are really anxious to go there.. so hopefully I wont go over on my totals today.. and I'm sooo hungry, I was running late to work this morning, so i skipped breakfast.. today is not going to be a good day :( ..

well enough about me

kclay61: I'm trying to weigh myself only once a month because if I weigh myself everyday and If it were to show a gain of .5 of a pound I would loose hope and give up.. even though I know certain times of the month can affect the outcome.. I'm weak.. and if I loose 5 lbs, i'm like.. wooo hoo.. i can eat dessert today.. I know.. i'm crazy :dizzy:

petra65: I use to do low-carb and I lost a lot of weight the first time I did it.. but when I tried to get back to it, I never got the same outcome.. It turns out I was getting too many carbs in my vegetable.. and nuts... I'm a big veggie and fruit person so I had to give low-carb up..

Moonray: welcome.. glad to have you here..

ashavison: how did the weigh in go?? I work out every other night and walk at least a mile 6 days a week.. I'm also doing low calorie/ low fat diet.. that way I can still eat something bad but just part of it as long as I dont go over my limit..

smilesarepriceless: welcome.. congrats on your baby.. and I'm sorry to hear you are going to be without your hubby for a year... thats soo sad, but you can give him a huge suprise when he gets back.. i saw this one show were a girl hadnt seen her man in about a year (military as well) and while he was gone she lost like 100 lbs.. and it was such a pretty reunion...

looking2lose: you are soo funny...

jennie934: good job on doing your pilates this morning.. I would love to be able to wake up early and get some excersize in... but.. i AM NOT a morning person..

clipclop: have fun shopping.. but just think that in a couple of months you're gonna look at the clothes you bought today and be like.. ha ha.. these fall right off of me..

05-04-2005, 02:09 PM
I am also a big reality fan. My husband HATES them and will not watch them with me but I can't miss them. I don't watch american idol though. My favorite is Big Brother and I loved Paradise Hotel I wish they would do it again.

Jennie - Good for you on the pilates this morning :cp:. It's not will power that stops me from weighing myself it's fear :fr:. I'm so scared to step on the scale and find out I weigh the same or worse more. I have been working so hard it may break me .

looking2lose - at my job we call your "string beans" the
"skinny bi:censored:h's and I want to be one of them in the worst way :^:.

smilesarepriceless - Sorry about your husband leaving :(. That must be hard on both of you especially with the baby being so young. I have a 20 month old daughter and she is also my motivation. I want to be able to play with her on the floor and still breathe at the same time :dizzy:.

Take care my friends and have a GREAT DAY!!!

05-04-2005, 02:33 PM
Hello everyone  Today is a, um, I guess, a fair day. It really hasn't started for me, yet. I'm fixing to get in my car, go p/u the girls from school, then get on the Interstate and travel an hour to my son's apt. Pick him up and, God knows what, from there.

As for reality shows - I only watch two of them - American Idol and, this year, The Bachelor(and that's only because of the bachelor himself). Other than those two I don't care. And, in all honesty, the reality theme is getting a little rediculous.

I prefer real crime type shows - CSI, Crossing Jordon, Without A Trace, oh, and HOUSE, it's a medical show - there are very few sitcoms out that I like, anymore - I do watch JOEY and Will & Grace, but not all the time. I guess I'm a prude, when it comes to TV. ;)

As for exercise - HA - what's that? I do walk, but not everyday, like I should. In order for me to walk, I have to get in the car and drive to a walking spot. Which is the dam. They have a special place to walk - and it's lovely - but I just hate having to drive in order to get there. (i know, excuses, excuses)

05-04-2005, 02:42 PM
kclay - I also like all of the crime shows, house, er etc. You know maybe TV is part of my problem . What do you think? Is that precious baby still holding on for dear life? I think it's time you gave him a pep talk about the world not being such a bad place ;).

05-04-2005, 02:49 PM
I used to watch ER but it got rediculous, and it isn't the same w/o George or Anthony anymore. Even tho I do like Noah.

Yes he is still hanging by a thread. Poor momma is miserable. Her little body and his big body. She has only gained like 12lbs and it's all baby :(

05-04-2005, 03:14 PM
Good afternoon gals. Gotta get this off my chest (rear, thighs, tummy) what have you....I ate an m&m cookie. Against my better judgment. I just had to tell someone. :( :m: :cookie: :m: There, I feel a little better.

It's not like I am going to having a sign over my head that says 'No cookie zone,' although not a bad idea. I am sure the string beans would love that (while they are all still in a cloud thinking that 8 little smidgens of danish do not equal a whole one) Apparently morale encouragement comes in the form of baked goods today in the cubefarm. I guess it could be worse. M&Ms are my serious downfall and I could have eaten that huge bag sittin' over there next to the cookies (you know the one, the 3-pounder). But, I opted to delve in, eat a cookie and be done with it. Hence, my evening stroll is even more important.

Thanks for the ears gals. Have a good afternoon. (

05-04-2005, 03:21 PM
you ladies are really wonderful you know that - people here make personal replies and actually read the posts :) what a feeling!

Clip Clop and all the gals who greeted me ----- Thanks ----

Ok - this is so lame.. i just have a hard time deciding what plan to one part of my brain i'm leaning towards southbeach, i feel guilty when i eat anything with carbs....then the other part of me wants to do weight watchers...and eat what i want...sensibly.

So, my food choices for today - HONESTY --
1 chick-fil-a biscuit
1 butter biscuit
1 med sweet tea

lunch -
2 fish filet sandwiches from mcdonalds -( i was proud i didn't do fries but i knew one sandwich wouldn't fill me up)
12 oz. Mtn Dew -

I'm embaressed that even had the nerve to write this on here...

I DO want to be amazingly different in one year and would LOVE to surprise my husband with a buff body..but i feel so weak in my food decision making choices...

05-04-2005, 03:47 PM
SMILES - I am very proud of you. Honesty of what you are eating is very hard. I am learning to do this everyday. Just started to journal yesterday. I was totally freaked out. Please remember, you never have to be embarrased here. We are all on the same team, and are here for each other, not just on the 'shout from the rooftopI lost a pound' days, but also the 'whoever invented the scale should have been shot before the patent' days.

If there is one thing that I have learned very quickly with this group of gals is that I am not on my own...and you aren't either. Grab your hopes & dreams by their tails, tie a knot and hang in there!! :cheer: (

05-04-2005, 03:52 PM
smilesarepriceless - believe me when I say I have tried them all. I have been successful with losing alot of weight in a small amount of time on some of them but let me tell you that when I start eating normal again I put all the weight back on :^:. Please pick something that you can live with for the rest of your life so you don't go through the same rollercoaster ride. [QUOTE=momX3]I have never in my life met a group of gals as welcoming, inspiring, and supportive as I have here (where I call home). Especially to finally find a forum such as this where I feel so incredibly comfortable here, and am learning that I am not alone.QUOTE]

Thank you for making me feel welcomed :) I have to agree with Lookins2Loose. I think this forum is exactly what I needed :)

Hello All-
I feel guilty I have not been to the YMCA at all this week. I have been watching other proples kids this week and I can't take them with me to the nursery. :( On eating done ok not great but ok. But I have lost 2 more pounds so at 11 total now. :hat: I do :write: journal everyday before I eat. This way I have to write it down before I put it into my mouth. I added a program to my PDA that way I can take it with me every where. Also I drink about a gallon of water every day. I'm wanting to try Yoga does anyone have any tips on this? I did get a cool yoga mat holder for $3 at Target the other day. No I don't have a Yoga mat but I'm ready to get one!! Just have to find one at a great price. Well better go start dinner for the gang. :hungry:

Hi guys. Welcome to the newcomers. Smilesarepricless: What momX3 says is so true. People treat diets like they are amusement rides that you get on and get off. You need to choose an eating plan that you can stick to for life because that is the only way you will be able to take it off and keep it off. I lost 50 lbs on weight watchers only to gain 30 back because I couldn't stick with the plan. Now I'm trying something different and so far I've been sticking with it but the pounds aren't coming off as fast as I would like.

I made one of those weight trackers but I can't figue out how to get it into my signature.

Workit, Have you tried Goodwill? I went to one in Vegas and found a Yoga Mat, Balance Ball and some work out video all VERY CHEAP new and from Target, the boxes were damaged so just make sure everything is in there. I thought it was an awesome deal and that way if I end up hating the balance ball it's ok cause I didn't spend too much on it :)

Hello everyone  How's it going? I'm doing fantastic :) Reason? Scott has been booted off of American Idol! I am sooooooooooooooooooooo happy! Now the real singers can finish the battle.

I have eaten one time today - a small crisis happened and we never had time to eat - but when we did eat, I made excellent choices - :D

Hello PICers,
Well I had my weigh in and I lost 2 lbs, and then I went for a Walk. A small start, to a giant journey!!
I agree with the others that finding this thread has made such a difference in what I am doing. I have people to talk to that do not judge, and understand what I face everyday!! Thank you all for being here.
2 lbs in a week, is huge for me, and I think it's because of reading your posts and being inspired to join you!
Thank You!

05-05-2005, 12:33 AM
looking2lose - Thanks. i too am gonna start journaling as of TODAY. It does make a big difference in helping me see what I am really eating.....You have a great sense of humor too.

momX3 & petra65 -You are so right---i have come to terms with i just CANNOT do the low/no carb thing long term and I am not wanting to set myself up for FAILURE but rather ---SUCCESS!

ashavison - Congrats on your 2 lbs loss! Every single pound counts..That is almost half a bag of sugar ( and those 5 lbs bags are nothing to laugh at).

Tomorrow, my goal is to MAKE WATER a priority. I currently drink no water..and when i drink it is when i eat, and it is often SODA! SPank me. But i did try diet cherry coke last night and it was pretty tasty. I personally hate diet sodas, but hope the one coming out with splenda tastes a little better...

05-05-2005, 12:42 AM
Hi my PIC beauty queens.. wholey moley!!!!!!!! :fr: .. I am just so excited that there are so many people on this thread... you guys make it sooo motivational for me.. well.. lunch seemed to have gone pretty well.. I ordered grilled shrimp and rice pilaf.. and I even ate the 2 hush puppies that it came with.. ;) i feel a little guilty not knowing the exact nutritional content of my meal, but when I spoke to the corporate office they told me that all their food used cholesterol free oil, and on the grilled shrimp the use just a "teeny tiny smidgen of butter" (her words exactly) and that the rice had no butter or oil.. I estimated my totals for the day to be
fat = 24.5
calories = 1035

I used my handy dandy calorie king book and used the counts for fried shrimp just to be safe so my total is probably a little less, but I'd rather be on the safe side..

ashavison: GREAT JOB!!! :cp: 2 pounds!! that is so awesome.. keep up the good work..

kclay61: I'm sorry to hear you had a crisis... :( but very proud of you for making good decisions on what you did eat.. :D

petra65: Now I'm trying something different and so far I've been sticking with it but the pounds aren't coming off as fast as I would like.
no matter what we do.. the pounds will never come off as fast as we would like.. if we think about it.. the diet we started 2 years ago wasnt showing results fast enough, so we gave it up and decided we would be fat forever, then a couple of weeks later we started another diet.. well if we really think about it, if we would have stuck to that diet we started 2 years ago, we would be at goal..

I made one of those weight trackers but I can't figue out how to get it into my signature.
you have to copy it.. then go back to edit signature and paste it in the box..

~workit~: good job!! 2 pounds is excellent.. :cb:

MoonRay Thank you for making me feel welcomed I have to agree with Lookins2Loose. I think this forum is exactly what I needed
thank you for being here.. your imput inspires us all as well..

smilesarepriceless: Hey hun!! thanks for being so honest and sharing your journal with us.. just a thought but maybe next time you can try the grilled chicken sandwich and a salad?? and if you have to have the fish sandwich.. (which by the way 1 has 20 grams of fat and 405 calories) just order one.. eat it.. wait 15 minutes and if you are still hungry get something else.. but usually it's just all in our heads.. we've gotten into such bad habits that we don't listen to our bodies and we don't realize how satisfied we are until we clean off our plates and think.. oh no.. i'm sooo stuffed I can hardly breathe.. trust me, I'm the president of that club.. you can do it.. I believe in you..

looking2lose: how dare they tempt you with your drug of choice (m&m's).. ha ha.. well I must say, that I am very proud of you for only eating one cookie.. it takes baby steps.. and holding back from taking that bag of m&m's to your desk is a big accomplishment.. you cant go on a diet and give up everything you love because you will not stay on that diet.. the key is moderation.. be proud of yourself.. I am.. :high:

Good Evening/Morning PIC !!

I am happy to report that my shopping trip went well. On Friday night I had picked up some Capri pants, so got some bright tops today and I am all ready for the summer.

Other than that I had a very quiet day... loving being on holidays, although it will be back to work on Monday and kicking my self in the butt to get on track.

LOOKING2LOSE ~ good for you for only have one cookie ! I don't know if I could have been that disciplined :encore:

SMILESAREPRICELESS ~ sometimes all it takes it to write down what you eat. If you are embarrassed about writing it then chances are next time you will think twice about eating it. Even if no one sees your journal it can have a real effect on choices. Good luck with the water .. it really does help (and think of all the exercise you will get running to the bathroom.. hehehe).

MOMX3 ~ you are so right about picking something that you can stick with. Everything works when you first start off, but if you can stick with it long term then you just do the yo-yo thing (I am all too familiar with that plan!!)

WORKIT ~ Unfortunately life throws us some curve balls that throw us off our schedule. As long as you don't let this interuption throw you right off then just take is as a well deserved break. You will be back to it in no time and a big congratulations on your 2 lbs. You go girl !!! :cb:

KCLAY ~ i just watched Idol and yes it was definately time for Scott to go. It was only a matter of time. Now I will see if I stay up to watch the "fallen idol" special about the alleged affair....

ASHAVISON ~ 2 lbs.. WOOOHOOOO... Well done we are so proud of you ! Keep up the good work :dancer:

DEEROD ~ Sounds like you made a great choice at lunch. Well done, you have been doing so great !! :queen:

Time for me to head off.. don't want to turn into a pumpkin..okay maybe too late.. LOL (no I am not that round !!)

TTYS and keep on keeping on !!!

05-05-2005, 10:26 AM
Hi ladies,
just a quick checking in. Things are going well. I had a good day yesterday. I was really busy so I couldn't get in any snacking! I got up this morning and excersised because i know today will be to busy to get to the gym.
Good job to everyone, I 'm glad we have each other to keep ourselves motivated.

05-05-2005, 10:35 AM
Good Morning team PIC!!

Sounds like everything is kicking off to a great start!! Whoo-Hoo.

CLIPCLOP congrats on the shopping, sounds like you were successful (Just being able to leave the store with something a bag you are happy with is delightful. YAY!)

SMILES kudos to you for your journey of water. That is one thing I am really working on myself, and it is working cubicle is 2 feet from the restroom, so I am a lucky water-chugging girlie (and learning to sprint in the process, lol)

MOMX3 I hear you, yo-yoing is my specialty. I did lose 100 pounds really fast like 2 years ago doing Atkins and being very prudish in what I ate (which was very, very little and not enough) and when I started to eat sensible regularly portioned meals I packed my weight back on faster than a clearance sale at Lane Bryant). Just have to find my groove now (with you gals on my side...I'm feeling better than I have in a long time).

WORKIT & ASHA big applause on the weight loss!! That is awesome. I weight in on Monday, so we will see. I am tempted to step on that scale everytime I get up to run to the bathroom, but then I think my company would have to my computer in there (since I spend so much time in there anyway).

KCLAY I am sooo happy Scott is gone too. The boy can sing, he just gets too darn nervous, and was starting to get a little sassy for his own britches.

DEEROD great job finding some good choices for lunch. I hope you had a good time with your friends. You are really doin' awesome girl, keep it up.

Will finish up an entry later. To all the rest of our ever-growing group Have a wonderful day, fill up those water mugs, and put the pedal to metal. WE CAN DO IT (2gether). I can hear the bosses footsteps (clickety-clack, clickety clack go them heels). a.k.a. the Shephard of the cubefarm.

Take care gals. TTYS. Have a wonderful day.

05-05-2005, 11:47 AM
Hello everybody, I think I've finally figured out how to get in here!! Yesterday I put another post back in my original one, which I now realise was the wrong way to do it!!
I've never done this before so you'll have to bear with me!! I got through my first day ok, but was hungry and thinking about food all the time. I find I'm fine until I put something in my mouth and then once I've eaten something the cravings start. One thing I noticed though was that I slept better last night than I have for a long time, I guess because my belly wasn't so stuffed with food!!

Thank you Momx3, ClipClop and MoonRay for your encouragement it's nice to know there are people 'out there' that understand. I thank you so much for offering me a 'home' and a chance to be part of your group, I will be very proud to become a "Partner in Crime"!!

I guess I should tell you a little bit about me, so here goes:
Name: Liz
Location: St John's, Newfoundland, Canada - this is home, originally from London, England.
Age: 49 - at least for another month!!
Marital Status: Married, one son aged 24
Starting Weight: 325lbs - I put 320lbs yesterday but didn't know how to change it!!
Goal Weight: First of all to get to 299lbs
My ambitions: To fit in an airplane seat without a seat belt extension, to NOT be the fattest person in the room, to dance on the edge of the dance floor instead of trying to hide in the middle and to like what I see in the mirror!! That will do for starters, I have loads more, ha ha
Current diet: None, been there, done that and bought the video with just about every diet going, now I'm trying to focus on eating normal size portions of good healthy food that I will enjoy and will hopefully satisfy me. I'm thinking if I enjoy what I eat it will help me to stick with it. I love to cook and to experiment so at least planning my meals and trying to make healthier versions of old favourites will occupy my thoughts with food, it seems I'm ALWAYS thinking about what I can eat next so maybe this way I can put it to good use!!
Pets: 2 cats, Oscar and Felix - The Odd Couple
Hobbies: Cooking - wouldn't you know it!! Reading - love a good mystery, thriller, biography or just about anything really, I love to travel - even with the seat belt extension, ha ha.

I can't think of anything else - if there's anything you want to know just ask!

Well I've made it to my second day, I feel that's an achievement, I even think today will be a little easier than yesterday thanks to your support!!! Once again, THANK YOU.

05-05-2005, 11:49 AM
Hmmmm, what happened to my weight tracker?

05-05-2005, 12:33 PM
GDay my fellow PIC,

Too early to report much this morning, although I have been over on the Buddy board greeting new members. I feel like I am recruiting for some weightloss cult.. but I know what a great group this is and the more the merrier !!

JENNIE ~ Great job at getting your workout in.. again. You are really sticking with it, good for you :sunny:

LOOKING2LOSE ~ Yes, it is great to be able to find something that fits without looking like it was made at the tent shop !! Have a great day and no kicking string bean butts !!! :D

DIZZYLIZZY ~ so glad you found us !! You will find this is a great group of wonderful and supportive women. Lean on us when you need to, we are here to listen and help where we can :listen: As for you weight tracker, not sure what happened... did you just cut and paste ?? it looks like you have some link in there ??

Well my friends I am off to have some breaky. TTYS my partners !

05-05-2005, 01:50 PM
Morning my friends :coffee:. Hope everyone is well today. I dropped the 2 oldest kids off at school and the youngest at day care and then came home to relax because I am not feeling well :( . I'm hoping to feel better by tomorrow because my grandpa is having surgery (he has colon cancer:cry: )and I want to be there.

moon - I'm so glad you found your home here.

workit - try not to feel guilty when you can't work out sometimes it just can't be helped just get right back at it when you can :wl:.

ashavision - Congrats on the 2 lbs :cheer:. Now look whos inspiring :D.

smiles - nothing beats water when you are trying to lose weight so drink up.

kclay - I hope all is well with you. Good job on your eating yesterday. Sometimes life makes it hard :s: but you managed to get through it.

deerod - Your right I would have been there so many times if I could have just stuck to it. I am trying to be patient this time and realize that it is just going to take time. I may not like it but that is how it goes .

clipclop - I was on buddy to. I just want people to know when they first sign up that there are people out there in the same boat and we will be there to help if they need anything.

Jennie - good for you exercising already :workout:.

looking2lose - You still make me smile :D everytime I read a post. Sometimes I feel really silly laughing out loud because I'm not sharing our "talks" with anyone so they just don't get it. How's everything else going for you?

dizzy - Welcome girl :grouphug:. Glad to see you made it.

I am going to go lay down now. I hope you all have a great day!!!

05-05-2005, 03:25 PM
Good afternoon: I've been doing really good. Not starving and the m&ms are nowhere to be found, nor do I see any round, colored objects resembling them. hee hee.

Drinking my water. I've spread it throughout the day, so I am not guzzling it until my eyes are floating. It is not my TOM, but Im feelin all bloated and puffy. Maybe its the material in this shirt I got on, but my spare tire around my middle feels like it sticking out like the stripe on Charlie Brown's shirt! Yowzers. Is that normal to feel all kind of puffy? (maybe i'm in denial that my usually 1-size-too-large super-comfy shirt, is now my fitting-like-a-glove favorite shirt).

I haven't had a lot of salt today. Had my 1/2-cup of oatmeal & apple for breakfast, lunch was ham, turkey, and provolone on white roll, and no snack as of yet, because im really not hungry. I just feel all poofy all over...hmm.

Other than that, working hard at trying to work hard...Take care all. TTYS.
Hugs to all!!

05-05-2005, 03:36 PM
Hello my PIC CHICKS.. how are you all doing today??

Clipclop & momx: I go to the buddy list too.. ha ha.. because i know there are other people out there who need our help.. and there is just something about every body that has joined us here, that gives this thread a warm feeling.. you never feel like you have to prove yourself or out do eachother.. and that is one of the main keys that keep me going..

dizzylizzy: I'm glad you found us.. Welcome aboard.. and CONGRATS on making it through your first day..

jennie934: I'm so proud of you for excersizing this morning.. gosh how i wish I could do that.. oh well.. at least I do it at night..

05-05-2005, 03:50 PM
I'm stealing this idea from a friend of mine whom originally posted "I challenge you"... I hope she doesnt mind, but I think its a great idea.. I think we should dare eachother to do thing that will help us get healthy.. so I'll go first...

I dare all of you PIC CHICKS.. to dedicate 30 minutes to walking today.. it can be around the block, around your house, or locking yourself in the bathroom and walking in place.. but you CAN NOT count grocery shopping or time you are already walking (ex: it took me 2 minutes to walk to my car :nono: ) you have to actually say.. I am going to do my 30 minutes of walking right now..

Who's in???

05-05-2005, 04:09 PM

I did it 30 minutes on the treadmill:tread: . I have to tell you guys though I did'nt work as hard as I usually would have because I don't feel good. My stomach is bothering me :barf: and I think it's my body trying to get used to the healthy eating. It wants to know where :cookie: :m: :jeno: :burger: are.

05-05-2005, 08:48 PM

DEEROD ~ Hope you had a good day and thanks for the challenge. We should definately have more challenges to keep us all interested... and lets face it when people are competing against one another the gloves come off and it may push some of us to do something that we wouldn't normally do.

Good job to all of you who did your 30 minutes... i stand and cheer for you all :cp:

Well my friends, I am off to watch mindless TV.. tomorrow is spa day.. YAHOO.. so I will check in with you all later tomorrow.

Good Morning Queens of Crime.
My girlfriend and I got 45 minutes of walking (I figure I pay taxes to the city to keep our parks nice, I might as well walk to it and through it and enjoy it). It was beautiful weather, and I was feeling really pumped :ebike: I must be feeling better because it is taking me a little longer before I start sweating like a pig!

:encore: Congrats to the PICs that took up the challenge...To the rest of friends...don't fret, I feel Deerod brewing up more challenges...

momx3 hope you are feeling better (i got some water gutrot here), so i hear you. A little  for grandpa, we're pulling for him.

kclay - are you doing okay, you seem so down. If there's anything we can do, just holler, whisper, email, message, post, ok? here's a :grouphug: for you.

moon - Excellent for you, 32 minutes for just starting out is awesome. Just pay attention to what your body is tellin you, alright, you want to stay safe.

All else, gotta get to work. TTYS. Have a good day all....and Deerod, enjoy your friend chicken!

Mantra for today "water is my friend...water is my friend....water is my friend..."

05-06-2005, 09:00 AM
MelodyAM75 - Welcome. Congrats :cp: on your success so far on WW and i hope you continue STRONG and know this is a great thread for wonderful support!!!

Well today is a fresh new day. I woke up real hungry, and was proud of myself i started off on a GOOD NOTE and had some new WW cereal i bought at the store (* real good by the way) with sliced bananas and water to drink.

I'm currently in SC but leave WED. to go back to Germany for one month. I'll get to see my husband b/c he gets home from a field exercise on May 13th ---and he doesn't leave for IRAQ until early June. So......since i haven't seen him in a month ( we all came on vacation to the states..but he had to go back early b/c of a work obligation out of town....) i can't wait to get back and see him. My daughter and I will then return to SC in June to stay for the year he is gone, and I'm gonna bust a move on my eating plan and exercise so when i see him again i can be a sexy mama :fr:

Well, let me clarify - I am already a sexy mama -- I'll just be a thinner, in better shape, sexy mama!

Ok, off to a good day of eating well and drinking WATER :) :)

05-06-2005, 10:18 AM
Hi ladies,
couldn't get the challenge in, I was running around all day but no actual activity walking fo r30 mins. I was so busy. I work with HiGh School students and we had their big all city art show awards last night, it was packed and there was food. My first goal of 20 pounds will be rewarded with a pedicure so I wore a skirt and sandels so I could see my busted toes any time I wanted to eat and remember I won't get my pedicure if I eat this junk. It worked, I only had some punch and I just talked to people the whole time. Its weird because a lot of my teachers from high school are now my peers. But its good to catch up with them.

My reason for my rededication/motivation is that I couldn't fit into my summer clothes when the weather fist started getting warm. I havn't really begun to notice a differnce in my size yet but yesterday I was like oh let me see if those capri pants will fit and I could get them on and zipped! they are still a llittle to tight to wear out and not be obsene but I think in another week or two they will be fine. last summer, I weighed around 217-220 so I'm not that far off now. After that I think I'll set my new mini goal for 199. I will be danceing in the streets when I go below 200! I can't even rember when I was under 200.

So anyway, I'm feeling very good today. I'm planning on having a good weekend, no cheating, no bad stuff. I really do feel better when I stay on point. I don't know why I turn to food when I get stress or depressed, it just makes things worse. If only I can remeber this all the time.

Have a good one.

05-06-2005, 11:51 AM
Good Morning Chickadees !

My last day of vacation and I was up at 6:30.. i must be out of my mind. :dizzy: So sitting at the kitchen table enjoying a hot cup of :coffee: and starting my day by talking to a great support group :o

Do you ever get those days where you look in the mirror and think how did I allow myself to get like this... I had one of those this morning and now I am much more determined to get this weight off once and for all. What I hate even more is that these lbs are ones that I have lost twice before... that irritates me

DEEROD ~ thanks for the motivation.. I think the challenges will really keep us moving. I give you loads of credit for being able to have a cheat day, I know if I allowed myself the same it would be my undoing.. good for you, enjoy your chicken. Hope the bday party goes well !

MELODY ~ Welcome, you have found a great place for support. Come on in take your shoes off, have a seat and share with us. We are all here for the same reason and are determined to succeed. :goodluck:

LOOKING2LOSE ~ so proud of you for getting out and moving..just think another few months and you will be doing the stairs with the stringbeans  Enjoy that H2O !!

SMILESAREPRICELESS ~ sounds like you are doing great, just the tone of your post shows how happy you are :D So I presume that while you are away we won't be hearing from you ?!?!? We will definately keep your seat warm though, as we all want to see you succeed and be that thinner sexy mama.

JENNIE ~ sounds like you had a busy Thursday and successfully stayed on program... congrats ! I definately know that "the clothes don't fit feeling".. unfortunately mine were too far from fitting so had to go buy new ones... oh well my goal is to have them falling off me by end of summer ! I think you are so smart to have mini goals. Looking long term can seem so overwhelming but having mini goals to make keeps us focused, and the reward at the end is awesome. A pedicure.. great choice !

Hope you all have a great day.. keep on keeping on.. and I will TTYS!

hello all-

Sounds as if everyone is doing well. That is great!! :cheer:
I was not able to get online to get on the challenge. I was every which way but here yesterday. :dizzy: But today I got back to the Y did 20 mins on treadmill :tread: and 30 mins on the ellic. A total of 400 cal burned. While I was there I had a lady come up to that has not seen me in about a month and said that she could tell that I have lost weight. Plus I did 100 sit ups. Then after getting home I walked the neighbor putting Avon books out. So I got another hour of walking with pulling 2 kids in the wagon. So not to bad!!
Breakfast bar (slim fast)
Lunch WW frozen meal 4pts w/ a salad.
Tonight we are going out for a girls night (kids) To libby Lu's :queen: and then meet up for dinner :hun: with the boys. So I have been trying to be good to beable to eat something good- Maybe French Onion Soup!!!

Well better get ready to go to my back appt. :crossed:

Who's in???
I must have received your post about the 30 minute walking challenge subliminally. This morning I finally got up to 30 minutes for the first time this go round. I started at 10 minutes 2 weeks ago and gradually urged myself to do more. I live in a large fenced apartment complex so I just walk around and around in the parking lot staying in the shade. I'm in Houston so the temperatures are starting to warm up. I'll gradually walk earlier and earlier in the morning. My positive way to respond to our heat in humidity is that some unlucky souls have to pay to go to a sauna!

Hi everyone! I didn't get to post last night because I had to go to bed really early. I had to go to a seminar that started at 7 am today and I am not a morning person so I was in bed at 8 last night. Needless to say, I've had a very long day. Welcome to Melody, this is a great group of ladies. They are all very motivated and have a wonderful sense of humor.

I think I need to explain my "not losing as fast as I would like" comment because Deerod said something about it. About 2 months ago, I started South Beach and lost 7 lbs my first 2 weeks. I then very cautiously added a couple items back to my diet but didn't lose any more weight, so after a couple weeks I got some advice from friends who have done well on low carb and they suggested I cut my carbs. So I cut my carbs, and cut my carbs, and cut my carbs until I basically ended up on an Atkins induction diet and still didn't lose any weight. Finally 6 weeks later I have lost 1 additional pound despite being in ketosis for weeks.(which brings my grand total to 8 pounds in over 2 months). And I haven't cheated even one time, honest to God. When I did weight watchers, I think I lost about 25 lbs in this same amount of time. So I think you can understand my frustration. Despite this, I haven't given up. I had my thyroid checked and now I am writing it all down and documenting my degree of ketosis so I can take it to my doctor to find out why I'm not losing. A couple of you have commented on impressive weight losses on Atkins, maybe you have some suggestions. I've eaten so much bacon and eggs it has become a comfort food to me. I drink plenty of water.

Oh, speaking of that. Someone said something about not liking diet soda. I consider myself somewhat of a a diet soda conneseur. Some of the better ones are: Diet vanilla cherry dr. pepper, diet a&w root beer, canada dry ginger ale (I actually can't tell the difference), sunkist orange, and diet rite cream soda.

My 90 lb labrador keeps trying to climb in my lap so I think I better go.

Hi Petra,
Maybe you should start your SB diet from the beginning see if you loose any more weight. When you start incorporating more carbs keep track of what they are and how much you loose as you start eating them again, that way you know what works for you and what doesn't.

just a thought ;)

Hey ladies - Thanks for all the support on my grandpa. He made it through surgery well and they think they got all the cancer :D .

workit5, 125, lookin2lose and deerod - Great job on the exercise!! You keep it up and we will all be string beans before you know it  .

Deerod - Thanks for making me Diva of the day I'll take the title and wear it proudly

Melody - Welcome!!!

smiles - I think I have that same cereal in my cupboard but I have not tried it yet.

Jennie - you must feel great about the capri's. That is even better then seeing the pounds lost :bravo: . You keep it up.

125 - I live in CA so I know what you mean about the heat :fr: .

workit - you must have felt so good inside when you were told you looked like you had lost weight. I'm proud of you :high:

clipclop - Im in the same boat as you lose than gain it back lose than gain it back. It sucks :?: and I will not let it happen again :nono:

Petra - if you had success with ww why are you doing the low carb thing? Is it something you think you can live with for the rest of your life? If not I would think about changing your plan.

Okay all my PIC friends - I went to curves this afternoon and weighed myself :goodscale . The last time I weighed myself in the morning and this time it was in the afternoon so it's not 100% accurate but I lost 6 pound since the 22nd of April.

05-06-2005, 10:42 PM
Moonray - I'm so proud of you for doing the challenge. Even though it was raining you found a way. You ROCK!!

05-06-2005, 10:51 PM
Hello everyone, feels like I haven't been around for a week. Way to go on the walking challenge.

05-07-2005, 12:55 AM
mom - Glad your grandpa came through surgery well. :)

Petra- I can understand that it must be frustrating when you are following the plan, but not losing weight. In the same amount of time you did southbeach/atkins I lost 36 lbs back in 03'. But i have found that the migraines i got everytime i was on it, and the bad mood it crazed me into weren't a long term solution for me... I hope you find what works best for you.

Clip Clop ( and everyone) -- I will be online in Germany you shouldn't see me dissapear completely..I'll be traveling though this coming Wed. back to Germany..but aside from that and being on less due to more time with hubby, I'll still be here though.

I had a real good day in regards to my food intake..... I want to go to the park tomorrow and walk at least 30 min too.

Congrats to everyone who even did one thing well today on your plan. A pat on the back for you ALL :) :)

05-07-2005, 02:37 AM
hello everyone.. hope you all are doing well... my day went pretty good.. as you all know, I'm eating low fat low cal.. and I write down everything I eat and count my totals at the end of the day,.. well my totals for today were.. (drum roll please.. tttrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr) 12.5 - fat / 740 calories... I know, I know. these are too low..but not to fret,, I will make up for these missing calories on my cheat day (sunday).. I'm still gonna try to do good and eat all my veggies and salad first, and then I'm going after my fried chicken  .. as for today, I had a 100 calorie pack of chips ahoy this morning, a lean cuisine lasagna lunch, and for dinner I had a white meat bar-b-q sandwich with a fruit salad.. I really wasnt hungry after all that and when I checked my totals I was in shock.. I had to re-do them like 3 times.. the b-day party went fine.. I wasnt even tempted (we went to eat right before we went thus the bar-b-q sandwich).. and then we walked about a mile.. i tried to go 2, but my body is so sore from that damn excersize tape I did yesterday.. eww.. by fat but was not made to do Yoga.. haha..

Melody: WELCOME!!! glad to have you here (by the way.. Melody is my real name.. but all my friends call me DEE.. they took off the Melo part.. ;-) )

looking2lose: good job on the walk.. keep it up..

smilesarepriceless: Great job on your decisions today.. I am very proud of you.. I think it is awesome that you are going to Germany and are going to get to spend time with your hubby.. have a good time.. and keep up the good work ..

jennie934: you can do it.. I know how hard it is to ignore a snack table.. put you should be really proud of yourself.. You're gonna have diva feet in no time..

ClipClop: sorry to hear your vacation is coming to and end.. and I always have those morning when I look into the mirror and think.. who the **** am I looking at.. I'm sorry you gained your weight back,, but it was fate.. cause if you we're skinny we never would've met you.. and all things happen for a reason.. this time we are all gonna get to our goals and stay there..

~workit~: good job!! I'm soo proud of you for excersizing and sticking to healthier eating.. (dun du da) :queen:.. you are the Pic Chick Diva of the day..

125by65: Awesome job..!! all it takes is a little effort.. most people wont make the commitment to walk around there apartment.. you go girl.. keep up the great job!!

petra65: I am totally not a morning person either.. I'm sure you will see results as soon as you find a diet that fits your life style.. i'm not knocking low carb, but it's not for me.. i love low cal low fat.. this way I don't have to restrict myself from eating certain things, I just have to eat a smaller portion so I don't go over my 30 gram of fat limit and my 1600 calorie limit per day.. I have complete confidence in you, and I know we will all do this together..

ashavison: Hi hon!! glad to have you back.. is everything ok in your neck of the woods??

Well my Pic Chicks.. I'm off to bed. it's been a long day.. I wish you all a good night, or good morning, or good day.. and I cant wait to hear from you all.. ttfn

05-07-2005, 03:47 AM
I don't know if the talk about "walking around the apt." was meant for me, or about me, but it felt like it.

The main reason I didn't or don't walk about my house, is bcs it is entirely too tiny - when I say tiny I mean TINY! I would have to wear a ring in my carpet, in my, so called, living room, in order to get any kind of "credited" walking done - I totally enjoy getting out of this crackerbox to walk - so, when it is raining, I stay indoors - does that mean I'm not as dedicated to loosing weight like everyone else that does seem to walk, **** no! I AM dedicated - just bcs I don't walk, every single day, does not mean that I am less dedicated as the person that does walk every single day.

I'm sorry that I am comming off as snotty, but, for some reason, the little "comments" about "walking around your apt." or "good for you for walking in the rain" upset me. So I just wanted to get that off my chest.

Bye -

05-07-2005, 09:44 AM
Good Morning everybody, Sorry I missed a day yesterday, I spent the day with my mum and dad, shopping, lunch etc then last night I vegged out in front of the tv with my hubby and watched movies!! You all seem to have been really focused and I'm impressed with all the walking. I find it so hard to walk now I get puffed out really quickly and I walk really slowly so I have to get working on that but I'm sorry to say I hate walking now, I suppose because it's so hard. I will try though. Foodwise I did pretty good yesterday, I too am one of those people that find it hard to get back on track once I fall off, and I've fallen off so many times this year that I'm finding it really difficult to start a new plan but all my 'partners' out there are going to help me aren't you!!! We are all going to help each other!!

Smiles - where are you going in Germany? My husband is German, he's from Pforzheim which is in the Black Forest, not far from Stuttgart.

Well the sun is shining here for a change, the grass is starting to turn green and in a few more weeks there should be leaves on the trees it should be 10 or 12C today, lovely!!!
I have to work today so I must get cracking, I have to be extra good today because it's Mothers Day tomorrow which is my day for spoiling my poor old mum who is 82 and and blind through macular degeneration.

Well ladies, have a great day, I must get myself some brecky now, I shopped well yesterday, bought loads of fruit and salad stuff and lots of veggies and no JUNK - aren't I good!! Have a great day everyone. :dizzy:

Hi girls,
happy saturday to you. I seem to do this every weekend right before my WI, last night I had a very busy hectic day at work so I didn't get to eat much then at around 10 when everything was done and I was ravenous we went out to eat dinner. I didnt' pig out but I ate much to late. I have to total my points today and see how much it was. I am again feeling bloated and gross. I think it was just from eating so late. I ussually am in bed by 9:30. I feel like i do so well all week then right before my WI, I blow it. I might switch my day to WEdnesday or something. My plan is to eat good healthy low sodium, high fiber food today and hopw for the best at WI.

I'm so busy today again but I am going to put my self to the 30 minute challange. and try and get a walk in.

Keep up the good work everyone. Glad to see all the progress eveyone is making. It keeps me going.....

Have a happy mothers day to all the moms out there and don't eat to much of the yummy deserts the kids make or bring or what ever...ahhhh how am i gonna handle that one?

05-07-2005, 12:36 PM
Dear Dear kclay - the comments we make when people exercise or walk are in no way a put down on you  . It is just us encouraging those that exercised that day. We know that you are working hard and would never take that away from you my friend ;) . Please don't feel like we are making jabs at you because that is NOT, NOT, NOT the case. We are only here to support one another :grouphug:

05-07-2005, 12:47 PM
Hi ladies.. hope everyone is doing well today.. I just finished doing a aerobics tape so I thought I'd come and check in..

I don't know if the talk about "walking around the apt." was meant for me, or about me, but it felt like it.
Bye -

klcay61: hey honey.. calm down.. and actually.. NO.. those comments were not directed at you, if I had something to say to you or about you, you would know.. in retrospect.. I was just praising 125by65 because she deserved it.. when you work so hard and no one tells you how good your doing, most people tend to give up, and I dont want any of the PIC's to give up.. I've given up too many times by making excuses and not getting my butt up to do anything. Praising other people helps me motivate myself. I used to not do anything and be upset for being fat.. and now I have a friend that lives in an apartment and weighs over 330 lbs she says she wants to lose weight, but she cant afford it.. whats the deal with that, to lose weight you just have to lessen what you eat (even if it is the same fattening food you eat every day) and excersize.. she has work out tapes, but she would rather sit on her A$$ and watch soap operas and now shes decided to stop talking to me since me and my sister -n- law are exercizing 6 days a week and watching what we eat.. 125by65 deserves credit and praise for working so hard.. I'm sorry that you that I was poking at you. :dunno:

well my fellow PIC's, I'm off to eat something,, (i'm starving).. I'll check back with ya'll in a little bit..

05-07-2005, 03:27 PM
Smiles - where are you going in Germany? My husband is German, he's from Pforzheim which is in the Black Forest, not far from Stuttgart.

Hi --we live in Wiesbaden --15 min from Frankfurt... The Black Forest is south of where i live.. I live in the Rhine River is beautiful....

05-07-2005, 05:40 PM
Yo Peeps !! Man it doesn't take long to get behind on posting... I usually try to post twice a day so that I can keep up. Last night I didn't even turn on the computer and yikes look at all the posts. It is awesome !!!

So first off let me say how all of you should go to the spa when you reach one of your goals.. ahhhh.. it was great. I had a massage, facial and pedicure. The massage was only long enough to be a teaser.. so next time I will definately go longer. I love pedicures and now I have nice bright pink toes. :p

Since xmas I have been carrying around a $100 bill in my wallet that I was going to use to buy myself something.. well yesterday was the day. I bought a brand new scale.. a funky digital one.. that weighs down to the 0.1.. I am getting serious about losing this weight... look out world here I come :smug:

WORKIT ~ Sounds like your hectic few days came to an end and you were able to get back to the gym. Good Job !! Bet you are still smiling about someone telling you you looked like you had lost weight. It is a great feeling :)

125BY65 ~ you did it girl.. you moved that body !!! 30 minutes is a great're a superstar

PETRA ~ I wish I could not be a morning person at times.. just to sleep in a few times would be sooo nice. Hopefully you can find a program that works for you and it is nothing of a medical nature. Keep us posted on your progress.

MOMX3 ~ Yahoo... you great big loser !!! :cb: Glad that grandpa is doing well and happy mother's day to you.. enjoy YOUR day tomorrow.

SMILESAREPRICELESS ~ sounds like you are off to a great start with your program.. we should be hearing great weigh in results from you soon ! :) Glad to hear that we won't lose touch with you while you are in Germany !!

ASHAVISON ~ hope things are going well for you.. I have to ask.. what is the meaning behind your user id ?!?!

DEEROD ~ Glad that your party went well... but what is up with your calorie intake :nono: I am not going to lecture you as I know you know what I would say !! Keep up the good work with the exercise and make sure that you are fueling that body !

KCLAY ~ Hope you are doing well. Who's the sexy new guy on your avatar ? You have been changing them frequently.. who will be next ?!?!?

DIZZYLIZZY ~ the exercise will come... you can't expect to change everything overnight ! Get your eating on track and then start to slowly introduce exercise. As my hubby would say "some people are built for comfort, some are built for speed".. I am definately at the comfort stage right now.. but making progress towards speed and you will to... hang in there girl !!! :)

JENNIE ~ Sounds like you had a hectic day and made a bad choice.. but at least you recognize that and will learn from it and make a better choice next time ;) Happy Mom's Day to you !

Phew.. I think that catches me up.. if i missed any mom's out there.. HAPPY MOM'S DAY !! @-->---- (my pathetic attempt at a

Hope you all have a great day/evening.. and until we meet again.. keep on keeping on

05-07-2005, 06:15 PM
Hi everyone. Thanks to all of those who offereed welcomes. This is a really busy thread and I haven't had a chance to read many posts lately because I am a teacher and this in the end of the year, which is a super busy time for me. I am still staying on the WW Flex plan and have lost 13 pounds so far. I have even inspired some of my students. One of my 8th grade students is going to join weight watchers with me this summer and join my gym.

Dee - That's cool that we have the same name - I don't know very many other people named Melody, except my mom for whom I was named, but she uses her middle name Jean instead.

Talk to you all later.

05-07-2005, 07:00 PM
ClipClop - I'm doing alright - for some reason, here lately, I've been getting a feeling that people are ganging up on me - I think I'm going thru the change, or something - Plus I'm stressed - *shrug* - Maybe once the new baby gets here things will slow down

The guy in my avitar is Josh(something) - he's off that new series LOST - cute ain't he? ;)

05-07-2005, 08:20 PM
hi gals. Well, i ate sensibly today.. Not perfect, but fairly good.. no fried food and no candy bars. a plus for me.

i did 30 crunches, and took 2 10 min walks....and i feel good about getting out and doing something.

I'll weigh in on monday morning.

Happy early Mother's day to all!

05-07-2005, 09:32 PM
WOW good job on the crunches -Smiles-

05-07-2005, 10:04 PM
Hi ladies -

Melody - 13 pounds :hyper: so far. WOW!!

Kclay - I watch Lost and that guy is my fav. Have you talked to your Doc about the change? Maybe there is something he can give you to help with mood swing. My husband would like it if you would share them with me

Smiles - Good for you on the food & exercise. You are doing so well

Dizzy - As far as the exercise :ebike: . Only do what you are comfortable with so you don't burn yourself out because then you won't want to do it at all. Take it slow you are not in a race.

Jennie - Were you able to get your 30 minutes in?

Clipclop - I have never wanted to go to a spa because I'm to embarassed about my weight :( . Maybe you should go see your doctor about your toes being pink. That is not normal honey  .

I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow.

05-08-2005, 12:29 AM
hi gals.. :)

Mom -Just wanted to tell you i too had some slight reservations about going to a spa or anything related to that activity, but when i was 7 months pregnant last fall, my husband gave me a massage for our anniversary.

I went, pretty nervous, but it was really great..and i just had to put myself in a mental place to enjoy the massage. It was great....!

05-08-2005, 01:09 AM
MOMX3 - yeah I've talked to my Dr. she told me what to expect and such - Right now, on top of the way I am feeling, DH is being an @$$ - our date night flew right out the window and I have been crying for the last 2 hours. :(

05-08-2005, 05:28 AM

Today is yet another pi$$y day - this Mother's Day will be remembered as the worst, so far - the girls and I are fixing to head out the door, going to my mom's - as far as my DH is concerned, well he can just go where he pleases, as long as he doesn't talk to me.

05-08-2005, 01:23 PM
Hey ladies Good Morning to all of you :coffee: .

Smiles - I would still feel very embarassed because of my weight. Now when I was pregnant I could have went and been fine because I was'nt as big as I am now and because well I was pregnant.

dee - Have fun on your cheat day!! Pretty soon I bet you won't have one cause all the good foods (and by good I mean bad) are going to make you feel :barf: .

kclay - I must tell you I am worried about you. Fights with the spouse can be the worst but don't let him get to you. It will blow over in time. I hope that baby gets here soon :bb: that will cheer you up. I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed :crossed: that things get better for you soon. Until then vent to us. We are here for you.

05-08-2005, 03:35 PM
HI LADIES, and HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all the moms on the board.

I had my WI today and I'm down 1.2!!! whoo hoo. I had a very busy and very rough week. work was very upsetting and it looks like it will only get worse this week, problems with co-workers and all. But, in spite of all of that, I am trying really hard not to stress or emotion eat. I havn't gotten in all of my excersise but I am try and it worked out OK.

My mothers day has been spent thus far as a normal sunday. WW meeting, then the gym. I was as so aggrivated by the people at work, that I used that as my motivation and jogged/walked 4.5 miles at the gym. I just showered and my son and I are gonna go for a walk or a bike ride or something. We are planning a family dinner with my mom, dad, and sister tonight. The menu looks OK, not to much to worry about.

Deerod- I know what you mean about your stomach getting used to health food. It like once you give up the junk, it lets you know when you aren't eating right. a built in survival mechanism or something.

Smiles, good job on the eating, I still give in and have a WW candy bar almost every other day.

kclay, keep your head up, men can be such a pain in the butt and ruin anything.

Momx3, thanks for keeping us all motivated.

Hi to every one else and welcome to the newcomers.

Gotta run my son is asking what are we doing today???

05-08-2005, 07:05 PM
Jennie - You go girlie :cp:. 1.2 pounds gone for good .

05-08-2005, 07:53 PM
Sorry I couldn't post last night. I have a guest from out of town. However, I have been staying on track with my eating and even took the dogs for a long walk last evening.

Someone asked about why I'm not doing WW anymore. Well, I did well for about 6 months and then I just couldn't stand all that counting anymore and I was hungry all the time. I don't tolerate being hungry very well. I ended up gaining 30 of my 50 lbs back. I know several people who have done very well on low carb and have been able to stay on it for YEARS. The low carb gurus promise you two things that are very true: you are not hungry, and you stop craving carbs. For me those are two blessings that I can't even begin to tell you how much I appreciate. It makes me reluctant to give this up even if I am having trouble losing weight. I know WW has a new no counting plan and that would really be my last resort.

kclay: I'm starting to get a little worried about you. Perhaps I should warn you that I am a shrink, but you are starting to sound like you might be depressed. Hope you start to feel better soon but if not you might want to go talk to your doctor about it.

05-08-2005, 09:04 PM

Well DH went - but things sort of calmed down - in all honesty he never really SAID anything to me that made me mad - it was his attitude, last night - so I ended up crying myself to sleep

We took my mom out to eat, her choice, and I had a veggie plate - all in all I had 1100 calories

Tomorrow is my WI so we shall see

05-08-2005, 11:59 PM
kclay -It sounds like you are feeling better. Good choice on the veggie plate ;) . Good luck on the weigh in tomorrow :goodvibes .

Petra - Glad you stayed on track with the eating and got some exercise in. I know it can be hard to do when you have company :) .

Dee - I did not exercise at all this weekend so I'm right there with you :^:

I will be back on tomorrow as well.

Goodnight my friends.

05-09-2005, 12:57 PM
Good day all, I'm not sure where everyone went. I was out of town this weekend with partners parents, and then to my parents...but I wanted to get in and say HELLO to everybody before I have to get back to work, as I had not checked in all weekend.

Stay strong my friends. TTYS. (

05-09-2005, 04:03 PM
I stayed the same this week, which is alright, atleast it wasn't a gain -

My son's gf is going to the hospital tonight - so, hopefully, he will be born soon

05-09-2005, 05:01 PM
kclay - I'd say with all the stress your under right now no gain is excellent. ;)

I really hope to here the baby is here by tomorrow.

05-09-2005, 07:18 PM
Have a good night everyone..Hopefullly will here from some of you tomorrow!!

05-09-2005, 08:19 PM
O.K. ladies I'm back on the exercise train. I went to curves :spin:. I also went to lunch with a friend I had chicken and rice :eating2:. I'm not sure how bad that is. It was vietnamese (we need spell check on here  ). Anyways it's a place called Bobo's. Deerod maybe you can tell me how bad I was. :^:

05-09-2005, 09:04 PM
Wow, not much posting today. Looking2lose: I love your avatar! You crack me up! I had a long day at work today. We must be getting close to a full moon or something. My friend who was here over the weekend has a binge eating problem and he basically cleaned out my refrigerator so this morning I was really mad because he ate what I was planning to take for lunch. I had to quick whip up some tuna salad. Glad to have my space to myself and my doggies again. Hope everyone is doing well today.

05-09-2005, 10:45 PM
GDay Ladies ! Just home from work and enjoying a nice cup of coffee, so thought that I would check in with my partners.

So today was day 1 of following WW and it went tremendously if I do say so myself !! I avoided the licorice and cookies at work... even to the point where I put the cookies back in the box cause they were annoying me !! :D

I also walked to and from work, 45 minutes each way... and somehow I managed to hurt a muscle in my butt :?: Hopefully it will be feeling better by wednesday (tuesday/thursday I have school so take the car to work).

DEEROD ~ glad that you enjoyed your buffet, although from the sounds of it others enjoyed it more.. good for you for having what you wanted and stopping at that !

KCLAY ~ good job on holding steady on the scale. You have had a rough few days, great job staying focused.

LOOKING2LOSE ~ love your new avatar.. GROVER !!! Hope all is going well and you are drowning in all that H2O you have been drinking.

MOMX3 ~ good job at getting back to curves today.. you are back in the swing of things !!

PETRA ~ Don't you hate that... go to the fridge for your lunch.. and POOF it is gone. Congrats on making a good alternative choice !!!

Well I am off to help hubby with dinner.. okay not really he does all the cooking.. LUCKY ME !!!.. but I am sure he could use some company.

Take care all and TTYS !

05-09-2005, 11:37 PM
I think I tried to post here earlier today but it didn't work  So here it is again!

Name: Lisa_WY
Age: 37
Location: Wyoming
Hubby: Yes for 7 years
Kid: 1, 5 y.o. daughter, Mallissa
Weight now: 258
Goal weight 150
Plan: earlier today I was debating rather or not to do this on my own. I KNOW how to eat better but my body craves all those things bad for you. Hubby is no help. I love him dearly BUT he is bad for my weight. LOL He doesn't care that I am fat...well..because he is too. I haVe decided tonight that I am going to go back to Weight Watchers.

I am proud that I actually ate breakfast. Not my choice in ceral but I did eat Fruit Loops with Mallissa. (I have bought some raisin bran since)

I had a sandwich on wheat with 2 pieces of thin sliced ham with mustard not mayo, a banna and instead of chips some low fat cheeze its.

Snack: 1/2 peanut butter and jelly sandwich

For dinner we had bobs on the grill. I ate mostly veggies and a few pieces of meat.

I drank all my water today!!!!!!

After dinner, I did go for a 30 minute walk up the big hill!! Mallissa rode her bike next to me. Actually I had to push her up the hill. LOL

The only thing bad today was I had a small piece of carrot cake left over from yesterday's Mother's Day celebration. That is ok..

For Day 1..I feel I did good.

05-10-2005, 09:32 AM
Good Morning Everyone~I hope today brings sunshines of hope and hugs of happiness your way from me to you. Today is a new day. I lost 3 pounds last week thanks to all the support I have found here with my new friends and I wanted to shout out a huge THANK YOU to every single gal in the place for their support, their feedback, new ideas, and rootin for me every day. Whoo-Hoo, I weight an even number. That rocks. I figured I would change my goals a little...First 10%, and then where we go from there.

TTYS everyone. Take Care of yous. Hugs, Hugs, and more Hugs.

05-10-2005, 10:56 AM
Hi ladies,
Ok, well I gave in to the emotional/stress eating monster yesterday. :eek:Things have been really awful at work lately. There has been a lot of back stabbing and gossiping. I am a very emotional person and I always say how I feel to the person first. Last week it went to far and I couldn't take it so I told my co-worker how I felt and how her gossiping was hurting me (the person she was gossiping to was actually trying to get me fired in defense of her ) and her only explanation for it all was that she felt I didn't like her. come on, that doesn't give you a reason to bad mouth a person. so she felt uncomfortable talking to me directly, so we had to have a mediation. It actually went well. We have been working for 2 years together and she has never said anyting to my face but a lot behind my back. so it was good to actually hear her say things. But it made for a very draining day. So I went home and all that was at home was left overs from mothers day so I had a spinach and whole wheat pasta salad meal, not that bad but not a balanced meal by any means, then I broke into the left over cake, ahhh too much cake. I eventually had to just pitch the rest in the trash because I couldn't stop. I still journaled it all and wrote down the points and I was over my daily points but not my flex points.

Today is a new day, I finished my looming work that has been bogging me down for weeks last night(I make clothes) and shiped them out this morning. I also got up and did pilates, I was going to do a cardio tape but I just wasn't awake enough for that. Today I am going to be totaly on points with my food and make sure I have a good balanced meal.

Looking2Lose- 3 pounds!!! :cp: that is great.

Lisa - Welcome

ClipClop - keep up with the WW, that is what I am doing and it really helps me out. I tried to do it on my own but I just couldn't. I think I need the structure.

Petra- I definatley agree, something is up, if its not the moon, its something else. it seems like everyone around me, is a little off....

Momx3- good job going to curves, I love the feeling of excersising, it keeps everthing in perspective for me. I eat veitmanise food a lot and I the chicken and things I get are always grilled so I figure they can't be to many more points than just plain chicken, they just have those good seasonings on them. I screw my self up at the restraun though, getting the spring rolls (the not fried ones) which arn't bad by them selves, all fresh veggies, but I love the sauce and i'm sure it has a lot of sugar in it.

kclay - I hope that baby comes soon. I was a week past my due date and it was miserable. but my midwife told me to drink castor oil and with in 2 hours, I was in labor and it only lasted about 3 hours. things we kind of messy and gross afterward but, if its not coming, that is always an option.

Deerod - hows it goiong have you recovered from the buffett? I would have totally pigged out, it sounds like you did good.

Hi to anyone I missed, and I hope everyone has a good day.

05-10-2005, 12:48 PM
I just thought of a new motivational tool for myself. It is quite funny actually. Considering that putting on a pair of pantyhose for work in the morning is turning into a 30-minute workout in itself (if not creating a new demented type of yoga), and if I wear knee-highs under a skirt, my pudgy knees pop over the tops of the hose and then my legs look like gigantic shitaki mushrooms...Hence, I would like to put on pantyhose in less then a minute without breaking a sweat, and look like I am wrestling with 2 conjoined eels!! Have a little chuckle all. Take care. ~Hugs~

05-10-2005, 12:56 PM
Hello everyone!! I am doing great!! I have lost another 3lbs so far 24 lbs since March!! I am no longer in the 300's!!! Woohoo!! Hope everyone is doing great!!

05-10-2005, 02:59 PM
hi everyone.. I'm sooo sorry I didnt check in yesterday, but I was swamped at work, and as soon as I got home my hubby was soo anxious to go get his generic bow flex out of lay away from walmart and since we were there I decided to get a tv for our room (since I took the one from there and put it in an empty spare room to play my excersize tapes on) and we needed a lawn mower.. we ran out of time so we ate at jack in the box, I got 2 chicken fajita pitas which only have 10 grams of fat each and an orange juice.. my totals for yesterday were

kclay61: good job about maintaining.. remember.. "it's better to stay the same than to gain".. I hope that baby comes soon.. I'm anxious to hear all about him..

momX3: good job going to curves.. you're choice of food sounds yummy.. the only things I found in my book were under Vietnamese
cari (curry) chicken w steamed rice 1 cup = 29 g fat / 650 calories hope that helps..

petra65: I use to have a friend that would always eat all the food in my fridge.. oh wait.. that was me.. :o

ClipClop: awesome job on WW.. and Im so proud of you for resisting those things..

Lisa_WY: Welcome to PIC.. and it sounds to me like you did a wonderful job on your first day back..

looking2lose- YAY!!, :cb: :cp: great job on loosing those 3 pounds.. (Dun du da).. :queen: You are the PIC diva of the day..!!

jennie934: Im sorry to hear things are going crazy at work.. just remember that we are all here for you..

~~Sunshine~~: WOW!!.. that is great news.. (dun du da) :queen: Looks like we have 2 Divas for the day.. keep up the good work

sorry to run so quickly, but Im of to lunch.. I'll check back with you all tonight

have a great day.. and keep up the great work..

05-10-2005, 05:25 PM
Hey everyone :)
Just checking in! Congrats to all of you who have lost weight!! :bravo: I cheated this weekend with a couple of cookies but that's it I worked out for 30 min yesterday and am hoping to do it again today :D I have to say I feel good so far, I cut out some of the fat and calories and I don't eat after 7pm. I'll find out on Thursday if I've lost any weight and depending on that I will modify what I'm doing if nessesary.

:goodluck: good luck to all!!!

05-10-2005, 09:58 PM
Hi ladies - I did my old sweatin' to the oldies tape with Richard Simmons today. I got a watch so I can keep track of my heart rate, calories etc. for mothers day and I used it when I did the tape today. Let me tell you I had to slow down a few times because my heart rate was to high. I guess Richard Simmons can still make my heart beat fast  .

Clipclop - Im glad to see your first day on WW went well and I hope the second was just as successful. Keep it up.

Lisa - Welcome to the site. Glad you made it :high:

Lookintolose - 3 lbs. WOW:cp::cb::cp:. That incredible. Glad your into even numbers ;) .

Jennie - I'm sorry to hear about you problems at work. That is so stressful especially since you have to be in that situation 5 days a week. I hope things have been cleared up. If not let us know and we will all go kick her *** . You have the right attitude about getting back on track. Good for you.

Moon - Be sure and let us know how things go on Thursday with the weigh in
and don't worry about the cookie you are doing so awesome you deserve a treat every once in awhile. :cookie:

Sunshine - Great job!! I can't imagine being 24 lbs lighter. You must feel wonderful. Keep it up :cheer:

Dee - It's o.k to miss 1 day just don't let it happen again :nono: . Thanks for looking up the stuff on the food for me. I guess it does'nt really matter how many calories at this point because I'm not giving it back  .

Everyone have a fabulous night.

05-10-2005, 10:33 PM
Howdy Everyone!
I did well today! I have decided to go to WW at 7:00am on Saturday.. That seems to work best for our schedule.

I ate well to day. Actually, I have trouble eating all the food that WW requires. I guess that is not a bad thing. I did eat all my fruit and veggies today. Didn't eat a lot of meat.. but I did eat breakfast.>YEA FOR ME! That is my most troubled part is eating breakfast. I didn't eat Fruit Loops either....

I also dusted off the ole stair stepper.. Our weather turned cool again :-( I hate springtime in Wyoming. We are going to get the "S" word tomorrow!! YUCK! I also found out that I have a ski machine in my back room too. LOL I forgot about it. Too bad I sold my threadmill. Oh well, I probably will pick up another one at a garage sale this summer.

This week I will cheat a little and weight myself at work on the bathroom scale to determine my weight loss since I won't start WW until Saturday.

Hope everyone had a good day. Thanks for the warm welcomes.

05-11-2005, 12:21 AM
Hello everyone!! hope you all had a great day.. I'm pretty tired so this is gonna be rather short..

MoonRay: don't worry about the cookies.. I just read in a book called "the truth" that cheat days actually help you lose weight because after you diet for so long, your body gets used to eating a certain way and your metabolism slows down, and if you incorporate a cheat day or cheat meal it tricks your body and re-starts your metabolism.. so those cookies are actually good for you.. :dizzy:

momX3: You go girl.. you are too funny maybe its those short - shorts that make your heart race.. :s:  .. Richard Simmons kicks my but.. I just dont have enough energy to keep up with him.. I do Fat Burning for Dummies.. at first it seems too hard, but you learn all the moves and then you start to remember them like dance moves.. keep up the great work

Lisa_WY: More power to you.. I am not a morning person.. and I give you "props" for making the effort to wake up at 7am on a Saturday.. isn't it a great feeling to say, I'm not eating enough?.. I also have a problem with breakfast.. thats why I drink shakes on my way to work (convinence).. I just realized that protein powder mixes have even less fat than the slim fast shakes.. (my husband just bought some because he's trying to beef up) I havent tried them yet, but I'll let you know how they taste.

alright ya'll I hope you have a great evening.. I'm off to take a shower.. oh yeah, I forgot.

my totals for today: f=22.5 calories=1035 (walked 2 miles)

*** 7 more days till weigh day ***

05-11-2005, 10:22 AM
Hi ladies,
quick check in. I was feeling so bloated and gross last night. I didn't get a chance to eat dinner at a normal hour so I kind of pigged out on 2 slices of pizza. not a true binge or anything but it didn't leaving me feeling good. I think I have written this like 10 times. I realy need to make it a priority to eat on time and not get so hungry and short of time that I eat someting junky.
Any way, I got up early and did my step reebok tape. got my heart pumpin this moring. I love Richard Simmons too. His tapes are so fun. I need to find mine and dust them off. I love it in the the one when they do the twist and he goes CRAZY!

Keep up the good work everyone! gotta get to the daily grind.

05-11-2005, 11:41 AM
Howdy Everyone!

Deerod: I am an early riser. My dh is in radio so our house is up early but we are normally in bed by 10pm too except dh who goes to bed at 8pm. I wanted to exercise this morning because I knew it was going to be a crappy weather day. Rain...Rain...and later SNOW! I didn't have time although I got up at 5. I will do it tonight, I will...I will....I will......

Although dh made fun of me last night. I have to tell this story. After I got off the stair stepper and was all rubbery. Mallissa came down stairs and decided to try it out. So she was on it for about 5 minutes playing around and doing fine. LOL Then says to me, Mommy why don't I make that pppppppp sound (my out of breath sound). Dh just laughed.. I told her because mommy was old and smoked and it gives her good reason not to get older or become a smoker. Out of the mouth of babes!

Jennie: honestly, 2 pieces of pizza won't kill you. You have to let go and move on and be lucky you didn't eat a 3rd slice. LOL I don't have a problem eating late at night, normally we have dinner at 5:30 and I am not a late snacker so that is not a problem for me. I also let myself have those things that are bad for you once in a while. You have too or you just crave them more and more and then you are out of control. Good luck and hopefully you can get your pedicure soon! I have to find something to reward myself with when I hit the 20 lbs loser.

momX3: how does that heart rate thingy work? As far as Richard Simmons..he makes me laugh to much to exercise with him. I don't like videos. I am going to walk, stair step, maybe dig out the ski machine(for crappy days) and get my big butt to the YMCA. During Mallissa's swim class they have water exercise. Anyone else do this? They say it is good for low impact. We have a wonderful YMCA and maybe my reward for after exercising can be to sit in the hot tub. LOL

Hope Everyone has a great day, stick to your plan!!

05-11-2005, 01:24 PM
Good Morning Crime Fighters!!

Hello to all my friends, and  welcome to our new ones. I am going to do some Richard Simmons Move, Groove, & Lose 2nite, but it cracks me up. Not the people, just him. I start laughing, and I'm afraid to pull something :hyper:

Anywhoo...I would like to start going to the YMCA. It is about 2 blocks from work. I want to do that Aquacize or whatever their fancy name is for it. I really don't want to go alone. Mentally I have all of you, physically I have the full-size mirror on my bathroom door, but a buddy certainly would help.

My friend said she would go with me (buddy up to motivate each other), but she will not wear a swimming suit if her life depended on I have to ask if it is okay for her to wear a T-shirt or something ;)...regardless, I am going to go. I have no shame, I tried on last year's suit that I paid almost $100 for with the little empire waist skirt and it still fits sort of...if I pull it down in the front and show a ton of cleavage my heiny is covered :ink:

Thank you for making me PIC diva for the day. That meant a lot to me. You gals keep me goin (and reminding me to drink my water...ugh. I can feel my eyeballs swimming.

Take care of yous, ttys. Hugs

05-11-2005, 02:59 PM
Good Morning Ladies - Hope everyone is having a great day. I have been looking at some other postings and some ladies post :flow1: when they have lost 1, 5, 10 etc. pounds. I think we need that. What do you all think? Maybe every 10 pounds we get a pretty flower?

You guys better quit making fun of my poor boyfriend. He can't help it if he has alot of energy

Lisa - the heart rate thing is a watch that I wear with a band that goes across my chest (I put it under my bra band) then I exercise. It has all of my info height, weight :yikes: , age etc. My heart rate should be between 119 and 156. If I go over it lets me know and I slow down. When I'm done exercising it tells me how long I was in my target heart range, how long I worked out and how many calories I burned. I love it. It is my friend

Talk to you all later :comp:

05-11-2005, 05:23 PM
MOMX3 - I noticed the posting of the 'lost pound twinklies' too. I would like to add that to my sig line. Maybe every 5....cuz I don't think I could handle the anticipation of waiting 7 more pounds for another flower.... :dizzy: !!

Have a wonderful night everyone, I'll be thinking about you.

Until tomorrow....

05-11-2005, 06:09 PM
Hey girls.... Sorry I've been MIA for awhile. I've felt lost and I need to find my way back to this thread and ww's. It started with TOM and then some family issues I needed to work on and then before I knew it, I had been missing from the gym and here.... for over 2 weeks!! I have been lurking though, and everyone seems to be doing really well. Today is the first day in a long time that I've actually got my water in. What a difference that makes. I could really use some encouragement to get back on the wagon (so to speak). Thanks.

05-11-2005, 07:29 PM
Hello everyone!! Why do I always feel like I eat to much and exercise to little? I usually have cereal with FF milk for breakfast then for lunch maybe a sandwich, FF chips, and FF cottage cheese or a salad then for supper something like Tuna helper and potatos and veggies all made with FF milk and FF butter! Maybe some sherbet for dessert. I usually ride my sationary bike 2 miles sometimes 4 miles then do 20 crunches, 20 leg lifts per leg and then walking (treadmill) and nordiac rider and weights for 30 minutes total and then at night maybe a walk which is 30 minutes! So what do you all think? Do I need more exercise and less food? I know I have been losing but for some reason I am just scared to death I might gain a pound back!

05-11-2005, 10:26 PM
Hi everyone. Welcome Lisa, Wyoming. Work continues to stress me out. I need a vacation! I'm going to a conference in about 10 days so I just have to hold on until then. I'm experimenting with that fitday software. It is very interesting. I don't think they calculate the fiber in your food and they certainly don't calculate net carbs. Does anyone else use it? If so what do you think?

05-11-2005, 10:43 PM
GDay Partners !! Finally I am getting a minute to sit down and post. I started school again last night.. so yesterday was a pretty hectic day.

So day 3 on WW and I am still going strong. Staying on points, drinking my water, and getting in some exercise. YAHOOEY for me :)

SUNSHINE ~ Congrats on your latest loss... well done !!! Keep up the great work.

DEEROD ~ hope things are going well for you. Sounds like you have been pretty busy as well !

LISA ~ Welcome to the group... you will love it here !

MOONRAY ~ keep up the good work on the exercise, hope your weigh-in tomorrow goes well !

MOMX3 ~ love your idea about celebrating all successes... and the flashing flower is a great idea.

JENNIE ~ a few pieces of pizza is okay.. just think how many you would have had if you weren't consciously following a program ?!?!?

LOOKING2LOSE ~ I have considered aquafit as well.. it is a great low impact workout.. but yes getting into that bathing suit.. ARRRRG.. I give you credit girl you are really working hard.. good job !!!

ANGELEYES ~ glad that you found your way back to us. We are here to support you through thick and thin (no pun intended!!!)

Hope I got everyone......

Well I am off to do some homework and figure out dinner. Have a great evening/day and I will talk to you all soon !!

05-11-2005, 10:47 PM
Howdy Everyone

I did well today. Did get in my water, ate pretty good. Since I started eating breakfast I am starved by 10:30. I did hit the hunger pangs with carrots but I wanted something more that would stick

I didn't do as well on exercise. My thighs hurt from last night and I gave up in about 10 minutes(also I had to help Mallissa with piano homework) but my stair stepper is calling my I probably will climb back on in a few or drag out the ski machine. Maybe during American Idol. LOL Dh makes me parnoid staring at me so hopefully he will go to bed in a few.

Sunshine: If it is working for you stick with it. I do know you can't cut too many calories and food from your diet. You can always exercise more but you have to have a balance. If you don't have balance you might do more harm than good.

Angel: Jump back on the bandwagon. We all fall and we are all here to pick you up. I got my water in too..I actually feel better when I do. Although I can't be far from the my eyes were swimming while waiting for Mallissa to finish gym. Finally I gave up and went in and went potty. LOL

Momx3:I might need one of those heart thingys. Was it expensive?

Looking2Lose: I think I am going to go to the YMCA's waterobics. This Saturday might be a little tough to do because I would only get 30 minutes during swim lessons and we have ballet afterwards and it is the dress rehearsal. I really need to check into other classes for swim lessons. I wish they were longer than 1/2 hour because I could really work out if they were an hour. I guess I will have to see the schedule for the summer to determine more.

Moonrod: I hope you are a loser tomorrow and I mean that in a good way.

Petra: Thanks for the welcome! I have heard of the software but haven't tried it yet. I think WW has a thing on their website that I can sub to that will keep track of stuff for me.

Everyone else: Hope you are having a good day!

PS..will someone take my snow?? I want to be able to walk outside!!!!!!

05-11-2005, 11:28 PM
Just letting everyone know, my new grandbaby has arrived - he showed his beautiful face at 3pm today. Mom and baby(daddy too)are doing fine - tired but very happy.

05-12-2005, 12:10 AM
My method of becoming more healthy is to eat more fruits and vegetables which doesn't leave me as much room or time for nervous eating. Surprise, it doesn't really work well to buy them and leave them in the refrigerator. So this week I started a large plastic bag of fruit salad and a large plastic bag of cut up vegetables to add to lettuce. Then I made myself of schedule of when I'd eat each. It's working for me. ;)

05-12-2005, 02:53 AM
hi ladies.. sorry if this is short but I just wrote a whole bunch of stuff and somehow I erased it.. needless to say i was very upset  . its a little after 12:30 am so I need to get to bed..

jennie934: It's ok.. 2 slices of pizza arent gonna hurt you, unless you eat them everyday..

Lisa_WY: great job on getting up and excersizing.. dont worry.. you wont be making that pppppp sound for long..

looking2lose: I use to do water aerobics a couple of years ago.. I loved it.. and it really wore me out..

momX3: the flowers for every 5 pounds is a great idea.. my weigh day is tuesday so I'll find out then if I get any flowers.. (keep ya'lls fingers crossed for me, I'm kinda nervous)

angel-eyes: thats ok hun.. we all have had our moments.. we are just glad to have you back..

~~Sunshine~~: It sounds to me like you are doing a great job.. just make sure to keep track of your calories and serving size.. remember fat free is not calorie free and calories make you gain weight..

ClipClop: I'm soo proud of you for going to school and keeping up with your new healthy way of living.. (dun du da) :queen: you are my PIC CHICK DIVA OF THE DAY..

Lisa_WY: great job...!!! dont worry, in a couple of months your gonna be strutting your stuff in front of you hubby ...

kclay61: congrats!! :woo: . that is great news.. I bet its a huge load off of your shoulders.. WELCOME TO THE WORLD :bb:

I just want to thank all of you again for making this thread so great..

:yikes:5 days till weigh day:yikes:

Good Morining Ladies,
much better day yesterday. I was stil crazy busy and had to eat pizza but this time I planned for it. Some days, we have to eat with the students and that is all they feed them. so I brought and apple and only had one piece. I know the two pieces I ate the other night weren't the worst thing in the world its just that is was so late and it made me feel so gross. yuck!
I'm planning on takeing my measurements next time I am around my tape measurer. Not sure when that will be but I am starting to notice some of the rolls and bulges disappearing. I didn't want to buy bigger clothes when I was regaining weight so I was squeezing myself into my size 16 when I probably could have used an 18 or a 20. so finally, my clothes are starting to fit. I wouldn't say they are to loose or anything yet but they are starting to fit!!!

Lisa_WY: Keep up the excersising, it sounds like you have a whole home gym, I am totally jelouse. I am planning on getting some kind of equipment when I move at the end of the summer.

looking2lose: You should try doing the water aerobics. I have heard it is a good work out and fun. I havn't ever tried but anything to mix up the excersise is good in my book.

~~Sunshine~~: I know the feeling of being scared to mix things up for fear of gaining. its hard some times at meal time I look and have such a hard time figureing out what to eat that I eat the same thing like 3 days in a row. if I were you though, I would figure out the calories for like 4 days with different stuff and have sort of a rotaing schedule of food to work from.

ClipClop: It sounds like you are getting it all in! good job. I know its hard with a busy schedule

kclay61: yeah, a new baby!! what was the name?

petra65: I've tried the fitday but I didnt' have the time to put it all in all the time. its pretty neat though how it figures it does the pie chart and stuff for you.

deerod: 5 days to WI! I bet you are going to do really well. You have been so motivated and working so hard.

angeleyes: Good to have you back.

Looking2lose: the twinkles seem like a fun idea in the sig. I'll go of every 5 pound maybe so I can have a lot!

Anyone I missed, Keep up the good work everyone and stay motivated!

gotta get to work.

Howdy Everyone!!
I sure hope guys don't mind me posting twice a day! It keeps me motivated. LOL
I did well yesterday. Still wondering why all the hunger pangs at 10:30am?? I know before I would go all day at work without eating and not feel the hunger. The last few days after eating breakfast I am starved. Maybe it is just my body telling me I am doing good. Ate well for breakfast, lunch and snacks, dinner was a challenge. I was hungery but I made myself take my time to eat. I sometimes eat too fast. Dave made porkchops marinated in apple juice. Boxed stuffing but he did put in apples. Actually he baked the porkchops and covered the tops of them with apples. The porkchops were small about the size of a deck of cards. YIPPEEE-1 serving!! I only had 2 spoonfuls of stuffing and 3 spoons full of corn. Did tell Dave to go easier on the butter on the corn. Today is a late night with Mallissa having to go to piano. We are having hotdogs and mac and cheese for dinner. I will add fresh veggies and fruit to mine. I guess 1 hotdog and 1 serving of mac and cheese can't kill you. LOL Sort of like the moderation!! Oh the stair stepper was calling my name, I got back on last night for about another 10 minutes but my thighs are killing me.

Jennie: Planned pizza is so much better. LOL A few years ago I picked up a lot of my exercise equipment at our big summer garage sale. I went on the last day during the last hour and got a treadmill, bike, stairstepper, ski machine and rowing machine for $25.00 for all. I sold the treadmill for $50.00. LOL I have most of it in my back storage room but I think I loaned my stepdaughter the bike. I used to have them set up but they collected dust in the playroom in my basement and when we got Mallissa...I have to move them so she wouldn't get hurt. I would rather go outside and walk or ride bikes with her. I will probably use them more next winter with our weather getting warmer.(I hope) I have to eat route too...not for dinner but breakfast and lunch. I tend to have the same thing over and over again. I need variety but since I have to bring my food to work..I tend to eat one or two things all week.

Deerod: Mallissa was teasing me last night about the ppppp sound again. LOL She said mommy, look how fast I can go on the stair stepper. I was struggling to do it for 5 minutes. BRAT OH Well...she is 5..what can I say. I don't know if I could go that long without weighing in. I need instant gradification. LOL

Clipclop: Going to school and getting exercise in. WOW for you!! I am impressed. Anything possible as long as I have my schedule.

Kclay: congrats on the new baby!!

125by65: That is a great way to get the veggies in. I am actually looking forward to going to the grocery store this weekend. I want more variety.

Moonrod: we want results. LOL Crossing fingers that you were a big loser today. LOL

Everyone else: Have a great day and check in with us!!

Morning PICS - I hope everyone is well this morning. This has to be short because I am taking my kids to have their picture taken this morning. I Love Pictures.

Lisa - post as often as you like :) . Sounds like you are doing great!! I'm not sure how much it was my husband got it for me for mothers day. Go to your local fitness store and I'm sure you can find one. Also Avon had the curves one last week for $29.99. Good Luck.

Jennie - way to go on the clothes feeling looser :cb:.

Dee - Let's see.. if we are going to do a flower for every 5 lbs lost and you have already lost 8 (8-3=5). Yes I'm right...give yourself a flower. That goes for anyone who has lost 5 lbs.

125 - Yeah it sucks that you actually have to eat the fruits and vegtables. I laughed my a:censored:s off at that one.

kclay - so glad Cameron is here :bb: :gift: :woo: You must be on:cloud9: .

Angeleyes - welcome back :D

05-12-2005, 03:51 PM
Well, 2 more pounds and I get some flower, I guess we'll see on Monday :dizzy: I haven't been doing so good. I ate pizza last night (jennie ;) you have self control, maybe it will rub off on me) as I ate and had none. Okay, I binged, then I had the worst gutrot ever! :tantrum:

~kclay~ CONGRATULATIONS on your new grandbaby. :woo:

~Lisa_WY~ Welcome to the group, sorry I have not been in to do that, and I already did and forgot about apologies :sorry:

~momX3~ great idea with the flower :flow1: . Earning that little sparkly is going to get my behind movin!

~angeleyes~ Very nice to meet you, its great to see you are back. I fell of the train and didn't care what I ate, what I looked like, and nobody around me said anything at all, until I said something to myself after a year of sittin on the pitty'pot, then I found all these gals, and now i'm not alone anymore.

~Sunshine~: I think you are doing great by keeping track and getting your exercise in. Hang in there. It will pay off.

~ClipClop~ You are definitely one heck of a committed gal. KUDOS DIVA!!

~Dee~ Don't you fret. You will earn your flowers. You've planted the seeds, and hanging strong. I believe in you - ALL OF YOU!

~125~ I wish veggies would cut themselves. I am going to take your advice and get them all ready to grab outta the fridge. Great job!

~petra~ I have been trying out fitday also. I don't like that it does not count fiber or sugar, but at least it motivates me to calculate things and gives me info on things. I like that I can compare different items. I have found some choices of better foods that I wouldn't even have thought of. I'm on the fence, but so far its all right.

~Jennie~ Post as much as you would like. Sometimes I post like 3 or 4 times a day. You have a great sense of humor, and are so motivated it makes me want to jog (but I think I would like like sugar free Jell-o bouncing around on the dashboard of a minivan.

Have a great day everyone. TTYS. Gotta get back to work, I can hear the clickety-clackety of the shephard of the cubefarm heels. Yowzers :drill: :yikes:

Take care, be kind to yourselves. Hugs to all :grouphug:

05-12-2005, 04:08 PM
Hope everyone is doing great!! I am doing great already got my exercise in and going walking tonight like every night!! Keep up the good work everyone!

kclay61~~ Congrats on the new grandbaby!! How exciting!!

05-12-2005, 07:28 PM
Hello again - visited mom and baby today - she is weak but feeling much better - Cameron slept the entire time we were there - can't wait to get them home, which will probably be tomorrow.

05-12-2005, 07:41 PM
I lost 9 pounds!! well, actually it was more like 8.something but really close to 9 :D Thank you for the support :)

05-12-2005, 07:57 PM
Just some observations :D I don't eat anything after 7pm but yesterday I ate some strawberries like around 6:30 and noticed that, I don't know maybe it was the carbs in the fruit or something but I was getting hunger pangs at night :( So I won't be having fruit that late anymore!

Oh and Organic cereal ROCKS!! I bought some Kashi organic autumn wheat and it's really good :D

Has anyone tried the Diet Snapple ice pops? if so, how are they?

05-12-2005, 09:16 PM
Moonray: WTG girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You were a big loser!!!!!!

Sunshine: You rock..exercise twice in one day. LOL I am still trying to survive the stairstepper. Tonight..I am taking Mallissa to the YMCA pool to just swim. She needs the practice and I need the exercise.

Kcay: Glad the baby is fine... always better to be home than in the sick place.

Looking2lose: Thanks for the welcome. I feel like an old timer now. LOL I don't miss the cube feeling!!! Been there done that. I almost did what Les did on WKRP in Cinni. LOL I wanted a door!!!

Momx3: Loved your fruit and veggie quote!!! my fruit in today but not enough veggies.... should of had 1 more. Just didn't want anymore. Not a good sign. Will have to buy more this week at the store.

Ok..I do ok today. I was underpoints but didn't think I ate right. Must of been the hotdog. LOL My thighs are killing me from the stair stepper so going for variety tonight with the swimming. I hope the pool don't make me hungry. LOL I am looking forward to my weigh in on Saturday morning. NOt sure if I can actually count a loss or not. Since I am not offical on WW yet. I will decide then. I probably will weigh myself at work to see the difference in the scales.

05-12-2005, 09:19 PM
Moon - OMG!! You Are On Fire :flame:. 9 lbs OMG you said 9 lbs :encore: . I am proud of you my friend you literally worked your *** off  . Keep up the great work. Give yourself a flower girl.

kclay - details, details.... give us the details on your new cutie :bb: .

Lookin - Eat the pizza if that's what you want just try not to go too overboard and even if you do just climb right back on. If you deny yourself you could go overboard and never make the climb up. Good luck on your Monday weigh in :goodscale :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Sunshine - you are an inspiration!! Keep up the great work :strong:

05-12-2005, 10:04 PM
kclay-congrats on the grandbaby! It's about time

Moon-I'm jealous! I haven't lost 9 lbs yet and I've been at this for over 2 months. How did you do that? (I'm teasing) Congrats!

You guys have way more energy than I do with all that exercise. Maybe I just work too many hours or something but I get tired just reading about it. Stair steppers, ski machines, water aerobics. I'm lucky if I have time to take my doggies out for a walk.

I'm looking forward to the weekend.

05-12-2005, 10:32 PM
OK, well, hmmm, details - let's see - Dr. put her in the hospital on Monday - she started her on something called Cervidil - then, Tuesday morning, she started her on Pitocin - 5 hours later she was still 1cm - the Dr. then took her off the Pitocin and let her body "rest" for a few hours - she then restarted her on the Cervidil and Pitocin (she called it a 2nd day induction) - Wednesday morning, around 4:30, my son called and asked for me, or my oldest DD, to come to the hospital to sit with his g'friend while he did a few errands - while there she dialted to 7cm - they gave her an epidural and she was in heaven - about 45 minutes later, one side, gave out on the epidural so the anethesialogist came in and gave her some extra meds - she was, once again, in heaven - it was now 12:30pm and she was 8cm - Dr. put in a catheter and BOOM she went to 10cm in no time - she started pushing at 1:30 and Cameron was born at 2:59pm.

He weighed 8lbs 12oz and was 22in long. He has a head full of hair. And seems to be very attentive. Hasn't cried except when the Dr. popped him on the butt. He looks around and makes the cutest faces. He acts like he is trying to talk to us.

I have some pics if you want to see. I can copy/paste the URL if it's permitted.

I'm normally a lurker. But I just spent my evening reading all thirteen pages of posts here. This is the greatest group of Chicks I've ever seen on 3FC. I thought I'd seen all the threads. Don't know how I missed THIS one. You guys are great. I feel like I know you all, already. Lookin2lose, you crack me up! And Kclay I'm so happy your little bundle of joy has arrived.

Well, there's a bunch of you I missed. But I basically wanted to say HI to you all. What a great bunch! Good luck to you all. I've been inspired and moved to tears with your threads (both tears of laughter and well, you know..) Thanks for entertaining me while stuck at work. Such great chicks!

Howdy, All

Ok, Just call me Chatty Cathy. LOL

I took Mallissa to the pool. The waterobics class was the same time as open swim. Mallissa let me do a little of it. I mainly stayed in the deep end with her. She is working on confidence in the swimming area. SO I figured I worked just as hard as the water class...if not harder. LOL I did have to take a shower before I went...Umm...I looked at my legs and said...OMG, the hair there is longer than dh's. That is what happens when you live in cold weather....umm..u want the hair to keep you warm. LOL We had a great time and I probably can move her lessons to T/TH and work out and then enjoy the pool after her class. I LOVED THE HOT TUB. Did make my thighs love me for a while. LOL

Yup..I think this is going to work. I had to laugh in the locker room. Mallissa was starving after swimming. I was good and only drank water. The ladies that did the water class were talking about how hungry they were and they were going for ice cream. Ok, the old me...probably would of thought that was a good idea..Not the new me. YEAHHHHHHHHHHH for me!!!

05-13-2005, 01:45 AM
howdy ya'll..hope everyone is doing well.. I'm so excited that this thread is growing like wild fire.. again I want to thank all of you for making this so special.. Well i just finished cleaning the kitchen.. and I'm not talking to my hubby.. hes on this new diet were he has to count carbs fat and calories and have a certain amount during each of his 4 meals.. (hes trying to bulk up).. well hes been eating egg whites every morning and just leaving the dishes in the sink.. (doesnt even put water in them).. and since I've been mainly living on frozen dinners I dont really make a trip to the sink.. until today.. I decided to make grilled chicken breasts and steamed veggies for dinner and I about had a heart attack just looking at those dishes.. i put them in the dishwasher but the stuff was so stuck on I had to wash them all by hand.. and honestly, I was ok with it.. even though they were his dishes and I work too.. . but when I thought he was doing the laundry in the garage (you know, sharing the chores), I saw him sitting on his a$$ in the bedroom watching the SPURS game.. ohh.. I was soo ticked off.. then he has the nerve to come to the kitchen and act all suprised saying whats wrong? that ticked me off even more.. men!!.. what do you do with them?? *sigh*.. ok.. now I feel better.. thanks for letting me vent..

jennie934: thanks for the kind words.. I think you are doing an awesome job as well..

Lisa_WY: no need to apologize.. we love reading your posts.. thats what makes us.. us... you are doing so good.. keep up the great work.. and I'm soo proud of you for going swimming today and not thinking twice about the ice cream..

momX3: thanks.. i needed to be put in my place.. i'm just so worried that all this hard work is going to be for nothing.. how did the pics come out?

looking2lose: hey hun.. i love reading your posts.. thanks for the motivation.. and don't you worry.. the way we eat are habits we got ourselves into, and it's gonna take time to change our habits for the better.. plus you can NOT give up a certain food you love, because most people will give up their healthy eating because of that.. "everything in moderation"

~~Sunshine~~: great job!! I'm so proud of you for getting your excersize in...

kclay61: so glad the baby is doing fine... I bet his handsome face just makes your rainy day..

MoonRay: OMG!!! yay for you... hey.. do you hear that?? (dun du da) :queen: you are the Pic Chick Diva of the day.. keep up the great work.. now exactly how long did it take you to loose all those pounds??

petra65: I use to have the same problem.. I never had the energy to get off the couch and exercize... I always told myself that I had to lose weight first (I know I'm crazy).. but I forced myself to walk.. and then it became a habit, and then I wanted to do more.. you'll get there.. just don't give up in yourself.. we all believe in you..

Hotcupojava: WELCOME.. I'm so glad to have you here.. and I agree with you 100%.. the people on this thread are the BEST.. I cant wait to hear more from and about you..

Well guys.. my day went okay.. except for the whole dishes thing.. I walked my 2 miles and my totals for today were 13.5 grams of fat,, and 1055 calories.. I really don't know how they stayed that low.. I know it's bad to go too low and I didnt plan for them to be that low.. I just eat and count my totals before I go to bed.. Don't scold me yet.. my cheat day is Saturday, and I will make up for it.. (I promise) ;) .. I'm soo worried about weighing in.. my sister in law started dieting with me like a week after I started, and shes not as strict as I am,, but I can notice a big difference in the way she looks,, and I really dont see that much of a difference in me.. actually the places I notice it are the places that I wanted to loose last.. I'm loosing my boobs, and my butt.. oh well.. a loss is a loss... does anyone else have this problem?? today has been my downest day.. I just keeping thinking that I'm not working hard enough, but I dont want to over do it.. you know.. it's just one of those days when i'm doubting every decision I've ever made.. well I guess I'll find out on Tuesday if I've been working hard enough or not.. well my chicadees.. thank you so much for lending me your ears and letting me clear my thoughts.. I wish you all the best day.. and I cant wait to hear from you all..

Name: Mary (but Java works great or Turtle or Java Turtle)
Location: Northern West Virginia
Age: 40 (ouch)
Sex: female
Marital status: Divorced & currently dating 1 Pooh Bear :smug:
Highest weight: 349 (highest recorded weight) :o
Current weight: (last weigh in): 240
Goal weight:145
Current clothing size: 22-24
Goal clothing size: I have no idea
Pets: 2 cats: Elvis 18 and Squeak (a stray) 3 Turtles: Lil' Butt, Cowboy and Stinky

Diet: Joined TOPS in April. Following WW's Points (loosely) and journaling everything I eat. Drinking as close as I can get to 60 oz's of water daily and exercising as many days a week that I can.

Okay, that's me. Java Turtle. I'm a full time/afternoon shift police dispatcher. I've been a law enforcement dispatcher :drill: for over 13 years and well, sitting on my butt eight hours a day/five days a week for thirteen plus years has uhmm taken it's toll on me and my hugely spread out bottom. I've only been at this new position for one year. But I love dispatching.

I had a gastric bypass in 1999 and it wasn't what I expected. I initially lost a chunk of weight, but the weight loss stopped and I now struggle daily to lose. I don't have any food amount restrictions, so it's not like I have an advantage in dieting or losing weight. In fact, I feel it was never right in the first place. But that's another story (kind of a sore subject).

I'm very glad I stumbled upon this thread. I've been searching for a new thread home since April. I've been lurking in several :mag:. But when I read yours (the entire thirteen pages) I felt like I'd found a home for Da Turtle. :smug:

Deerod~ Thank you for starting this wonderful home. And I'm sorry about the hubby/dishes episode. Sort of glad my man is only here on my days off. Other wise he'd be pushing my buttons while standing on my last nerve. :rollpin:

Lisa WY~ I gave up shaving my legs from Oct (just after my b-day) until the first day of spring. That was ugly. But it's real cold here in WV too. I can relate. :sman:

Kclay61~ The joy brought on by that grandson comes right through in your post. So sweet. Congratulations!

MoonRay~ Awesome job on 9 NINE pounds lost! :encore:

Looking2lose~ I adore your sense of humor. Right up my alley. I weigh on Monday's too. Good luck to you. :high:

Not sure how far to go back (and how many gals to include) on my very first "real" post. So I'll just say hello to the rest of you. I'm really glad to have found you all. Have a great day.

05-13-2005, 09:23 AM
Good Morning PIC!!!! YIPPEEEEE It is Friday!!!!

Mary: Welcome!! Glad you are here! I am rather new, just started posting earlier this week and it is a great bunch of people! My sister had gastric bypass. She keeps trying to talk me into it. I would rather try the old fashion way. She has a lot of medical problems now, I doubt they were the cause of surgery but has cancer in several places and now is having trouble keeping weight on.

Deerod: Men don't think. LOL Last week when I was sick, dh took me to the doctor. I had a kidney problem, really dehydrated and a high fever. Doc tried to be me in the sick place but I don't have anyone to watch Mallissa early in the mornings so I told him no let's try something else first. After the doctor dh took me to the pharmacy. I keep telling him how thristy I was. He said, ok, and went into the pharmacy. When he finally did bring me something to drink after waiting for the RX (over 20 minutes) he brought me Mt. Dew. Not my choice of drink for someone who is dehydrated. Then wanted to stop to get gas while he was out. I finally had to yell at him..TAKE ME HOME!!!!!!!!!! So, I have concluded, they just don't think! I shouldn't complain, he is tackling Mt. Washmore this week. We do share the chores.

Petra: The first time I was on WW, I tried to do it without exercise. It just doesn't work. I read a book once from a fitness guru..that said..Any exercise is good. Once you might even be walking to the street corner and walking to that same street corner until you are not out of breath. I have to make myself time to do exercise. I am a very busy mom. I also work 7:30-4:30 everyday plus on 4 days a week, I am driving Mallissa all over to gym class, piano and ballet. My day starts early and ends late most days. Actually exercising with Mallissa by taking her on a walk or the pool is fun! THe hardest part of exercising is making yourself do it. 30 minutes a day is hour is better but if it is only 15 minutes...that is 15 minutes you didn't do the day before. Once you find a routine, it becomes addictive to you.

Last night I did some recipe look up on the board under WW. There are some interesting ones there. Dh wants to try new food. I am hoping to get him on the bandwagon. I am sitting here listening to the Curves commerical.Anyone hear is funny. LOL

Hope everyone has a good day and it is lucky for you!

05-13-2005, 09:26 AM
Good Morning ladies - Today is Friday the 13th :yikes: Who knows what today will harvest in the cubefarm. Zoiks!

I have been oversleeping the last 2 days. That is so not like me. :?: I usually am up at 3:30 a.m. (go to sleep by 9 p.m. at the latest). I get my day started, eat an energizing something like some fruit, half a cup of coffee, get some time on an exercise tape, stairstepper, or dance with the cats.

I'm just kinda blah. Here I have support. At home I have none. My girlfriend wants to go walking, go to the Y with me, but has a super physical job and doesn't have energy in the afternoons or evenings, and will not get up earlier than is last-minute necessary. It kinda bums me out :(

I don't wanna have a morning list of shoulda, woulda, know? I want to reach my mini-goal of 10%, I want to be healthy. I don't want diabetes like my entire family, I don't want to have a heart attack. I want to live. I have to kick myself in my own behind and do this.

Today is a new day!!! :) I can do this. WE can do this. One of you gals stated in a post that 'every second is a new beginning.' I like me and I am worth living for. WE ALL ARE. I just got me a big water, and I got my favorite comfy jean-capris on, wore my sneakers to work, and I'm going to get real here and give 'er h :censored: ll!!

Thanks for listening my cherished PICs.

Hugs to all, Be good to yourselves and take it easy. I'll be thinking about you.

05-13-2005, 12:24 PM
Morning Ladies :coffee:. I wrote to you all last night but lost it when I tried to send it so I just got about half way done doing it again this morning and the baby turned the computer off mid sentence :dizzy: . So here I go again.

kclay - :hyper: pictures of the baby yes please

Petra - Like Dee said "we all believe in you". I can't believe the amount of energy I have now that I have found a way to exercise ;) and trust me I have to find the time I have 3 kids and 1 is is only 21 months :) .

hotcup - Glad you made it to our group :high:. You are right this is the best site with the most supportive ladies.

Lisa - so sorry to hear about your sis . You are smart to do it the old fashion way. Good job on not going for ice cream :). I actually do curves and I love it!!! It gives me so much energy. I really look forward to the days I get to go there. I have always loved the cardio part of working out but I hate weights. When I go to curves I get the strength training that I need. Did I tell you I love it .

lookin - I hope nothin bad happens in the cubefarm today. We are here to support you because people that are not going through this just don't understand but we do!! Don't worry about kicking yourself in the behind we can do that for you to . Seriously girls cheer up :cheer:. You are doing so well it is just going to take time but you are ON YOUR WAY!!

dee - I have never heard you so down but we all have "those days". Don't worry about how your sil looks we all lose at different rates and in different ways. I have heard that you lose the weight first from the last place you put in on so the rest will come. I just wish I had your problem with the boobs and the butt mine are both double jumbo :^:. You have been working so hard and I know you feel better so just keep plugging away you will win this battle. Lean on me all you want I won't fall :D . Keep your chin up 'cause you ROCK!! I don't see your flower yet ;) .

Now something for everyone to think about.... Why is it that we can be so supportive of everthing that everyone else is doing but we are not being supportive of ourselves. We are the only ones that truly know how hard we are working and yet we doubt everything we do. I want everyone to give themselves a pat on the back today because all we can do is our best. If that means eating healthy but not yet exercising or exercising but not yet eating healthy if it is YOUR best you deserve a pat on the back!!!!

05-13-2005, 01:18 PM
MomX3~ Sorry you lost your post. I've started doing mine in another program and then cutting and pasting. But it takes longer. And I agree with you. We are our worst critics. We should practice what we preach (or cheer).:cheer:

Looking2Lose~ Don't get down on yourself. It is much easier with a partner, but not impossible without. My BF is sometimes an uneasy ally in this battle of weight, but sometimes (okay, MOST times) he's my worst enemy. I hope you find someone that isn't too exhausted, to work out with you. And I hope things are going smoothly in your "cube farm" today on this Friday the 13th.

Lisa WY~ Thanks for the welcome. Although I would probably do the surgery again if I had it all to do over, (though it wasn't that much of an "easy way out" for me) I am very glad that my Type II Diabetes was basically "cured" by the weight loss I did manage to have. Too often the surgery is being used now as the quick or dream fix that it's not. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone that isn't in extreme danger or at least 200 pounds over weight.

Kclay61~ I hope you're just eating up that sweetness from da baby! Will we see photos? Take care and enjoy. :smug:

Petra65~ I miss having a dog. We've got bike/walking trails that I'd love to walk a dog on. Sadly, my little dog, Penny died years ago and working full time doesn't allow me enough time to dedicate to a dog. But maybe I can "borrow" a dog to walk. You live near West Virginia?

Anyone I missed .. I apologize. I got up a little earlier than I wanted today. Between my cat, Squeak and the sun, I just wasn't allowed to sleep in. I've done laundry and dishes this morning. Put away all my uniforms :drill: (save the one I have to wear for a commencement ceremony on Sunday ... my day off ugh), and I made some really good tuna salad with fat free Mayonnaise and some funky mustard I found at Big Lots. Now I just have to decide what exercise to do for the day. I did Tae Bo yesterday and it whooped up on me. Maybe a step tape today. Better go strap the girls down so I don't black my eyes. :faint: I'll read and post more from work. Nothing else to do.

Have a great day you wonderful PIC's you!

WELCOME Java! Congrats on all the weight lost so far!

WoHooo thanks Deerod for the honor ;)

now exactly how long did it take you to loose all those pounds??

I started watching what I ate 2 weeks ago, however my last weigh in was last month also at the Doc's office so I guess it took me a month to loose it :D My goal is to loose 8 lbs a month :crossed: it will be hard but now I know it CAN be done!!

HI Honey's... TGIF!!!.. my day is going so much better.. sorry I was the "downer" yesterday.. I guess I was just feeling sorry for myself.. and plus I've been extremly tired..

this is my day:

6:30 am - wake up, get ready for work. feed Gizmo and Oreo (3 month old chihuahua pups). Drive to work.

8-5p: - at work

6:00 pm - get home.. put freckles (70 pound dalmation) in his kennel (because I dont trust him with the pups yet). then I take the pups outside and let them stretch their legs.. then I take the pups back inside, let freckles loose, make dinner and clean the kitchen or we go out to eat. this is the time that we usually go to the store if we need something.

8:00pm - go walking or do aerobics tape and then walk.

9-9:30pm - we get home

10pm - let the pups run around the house, feed Teddy & Piggy. (our huge ginuea pigs) watch a very little bit of tv while playing with the pups,,

11pm - take a shower, then I get online

and lately I've been in bed between 12:30 and 1 am..

then I start it all over again..

I'm trying to get the courage to ask my job to let me go part time.. but I don't think they will go for it..

Hotcupojava: I'm so glad you joined our group.. Congrats on all the weight you've already lost :cp: ..

Lisa WY: I'm sorry to hear that your sisters surgery had so many complications.. I wish her well.. and I totally agree.. men just don't think..

looking2lose: I'm so glad that you are always here to make us laugh.. sorry that you've been oversleeping.. but usually when you change your diet and start to excersize it takes a toll on your body and it'll take a couple of days for your body to get used to working harder.. and don't be bummed.. usually every time I go on a diet, my husband eats more of the crap that I love.. one time he made a pecan pie cake and I was doing the Atkins diet.. I COULD HAVE KILLED HIM:rollpin: .. and like you said.. we are here for you..

momX3 : Ohh.. I hate when that happens.. the other night I was like one sentence from being done posting here :comp: .. and I dont know if I clicked something or what, but all of a sudden :yikes: .. BAM!! it was gone.. I was like "no way" .. and I just really want to thank you for all your encouragement.. I don't mind loosing my butt and boobs, I just didnt want to loose them first. when I was slim.. I was very flat chested and the only good thing about gaining weight was that I got boobs.. now I have to sa "TA TA" to my ta ta's.. lol  .. oh. and about the flower.. I weigh in on Tuesday, so I will post it then..

MoonRay: you deserved it.. you are doing wonderful da-hr-rling.. just wonderful

well. I'm back to the coal mine.. I will check up with ya'll again later tonight..

TA TA.. ha ha ha

05-13-2005, 03:11 PM
Hi Everyone, I'm with you clipclop, I missed a day and missed so much. Things have been hectic as per ussual. I did really well though yesterday. I knew I wouldn't be able to get my workout in so I ate very sensibly. I planned out each meal in the morning. It makes it a lot easier when you don't have to make choices on the spot.
Today I tried to do pilates in the am but my son was very excited he was having a graduation from PreK into Kindergarden today so he was all over the place and was jumping in between my legs and on top of me. any mom and dad are taking him for the evening so I can go to the gym after work and get a better work out in.

Everyone is doing so well. I am worried about my WI, I have one pound to go and I am at my first goal of 20 and I am getting a pedicure. My feet are soooo bad looking right now I really need it because it is getting warm and I want to wear my flip flops and look cute. I am wearing them to remind my self not to lose control but me feet do not look cute at all! I hope so bad that I lose that pound. I havn't gotten in as much excersise as I would like because i have been so busy at work but I've been keeping with in my points. ahhhh....I'll see on Sunday.

keep up the good work.

05-13-2005, 06:32 PM
hotcup - "Better go strap the girls down so I don't black my eyes. " This is so me I love it ;).

jennie - good job on keeping up with the points! I'm sure you will have beautiful feet in no time .

Sunshine - have fun at the yard sales  .

Clipclop - nice to see you. Look forward to hearing how you are tonight.

dee - I don't know how you fit it all in girl!! We had 3 ginuea's Cocoa, Butterscotch and Ginger but they all died. The lived for 5 years though. They were very cute and very, very messy :dizzy: .

Howdy Everyone!
Good Evening!!!

Today was a beautiful day in Sunny Wyoming!! After yesterday's snow it warmed up..YIPPEEEEE I am proud, instead of going out tonight like we always do on Friday, I actually cooked dinner. I had some Oriental frozen thingys in my freezer. They were good and very low in fat. Dh even liked them.

Sunshine: I love yard sales. We have a big one coming up the first week of June. Our Meals on Wheels has a huge one in the CFD hall. Last year we bought a snow blower for $25.00. I get lots of kewl stuff when I go. I try to go the last day, last hour, because they will give you stuff for almost nothing!!

Mary: you made me spit with the strapping down the girls quote. Lucky it was only water or my computer screen at work..would of been messy. I never considered the surgery. I am 100lbs overweight and have lost weight before so I know I can do it. I actually got out my old WW book and I am proud to announce my starting weight is about the same as last time.

Dee: Last time I lost weight I lost my boobs first too. My dh at the time wasn't happy..he liked my girls. The last to go is my thighs and arms. I want them to go first. My current dh told me today, you have a great attitude about losing weight. I haven't officially weighed myself yet but I did notice my pants were a little loser this week.

My day starts at 5am. I design webpages part time and produce dh's radio show so this is when I fit it in. I shower and dress at 6:30 sharp and get the kid up. She normally takes her breakfast with her to daycare. I have to be at work at 7:30 sharp and I am there until 4:30pm. On Mon/Wed, I take her to the gym after daycare and on Thurs I take her to piano. My only free nights are T/Th but I am changing Sat swimming to one of the those nights. Friday night is family night. Saturday, I have WW at 7, Mallissa has swimming at 9, Ballet at 10 and open gym at noon. Sunday we go to church and Mallissa has choir at 4.... Our lives are full but I am determined to eat right, get sleep and exercise!!! I have to do this for me!!!

ClipClop: The kewl thing is we are here when you need us!! Gald you are on program. Keep up the good work.

Jennie: I hope you lose that pound. Maybe it is 2 or never know until you see the scale.

Everyone else: have a great night. Tonight is my I can be lazy night. I don't exercise 2 days a week. If I have to adjust this later, I will.. but for now..5 nights is what I think is best. I will check in after WW in the morning. I know where I started on we will see if I lost any weight yet.

05-13-2005, 11:15 PM
This has been a busy thread in the past 24 hours. I have a big announcement...Drum roll please.........

I got on the scale this morning and it said I lost 2 more pounds! I skipped 9 and went straight to 10. Let's hope this trend continues. I think the difference is that I have been eating fewer vegetables. Also that fitday software has shown me carbs in a few places I didn't know they were sneaking in before.

Welcome Java. My name is Mary too. No, I don't live near WV. I live in the Lehigh Valley if you know where that is. I used to live in Virginia so I am somewhat familiar with WV. I have several patients who have had gastric bypass surgery. Some have done well, others not so well. It has been interesting to watch. I do a fair number of the psych evals before surgery.

Dee--the older I get, the happier I am that I never got married. LOL

Lisa-good luck tomorrow.

If I gave you all the impression I am a couch potato, that would not be the case. My biggest problem is that I work too many hours. I'm a psychiatrist so I work like 50-60 hours a week. I literally go to a different office every day and some days I go to more than one office. I'm all over the hospital. Part of my job is to see patients who are on medical or surgical floors but have psychiatric problems. Sometimes I can be so busy at work that I literally don't have time to go to the bathroom or eat. I live in my house by myself with my dogs and there is always something that needs to be done. I also require a fair amount of sleep. I need 8-9 hours a night or I feel like a someone ran over me with a truck. So I try to be in bed by 9:30 on worknights.

And I'm about to turn into a pumpkin now so I better get going, although I have off this weekend. Talk to you all tomorrow.

05-13-2005, 11:27 PM
:bravo: 10 pounds lost forever!!!!!!! WooHoooo!! Way to go Petra :cp:

05-13-2005, 11:32 PM
Hi everyone, its a two post day for me. My parents have my son tonight and I don't know what to do with my self. I should go out and have fun but then I would rather be able to get up early tomorrow and work out before I go to work so I'll just stay in and relax, by my self....

Lisa, omg, your life sounds like mine. I'm a single mom with a full time job and a small business on the side. So I am always on the go. But I will not let my son suffer because of that so he is on t-ball, soccor, takes art classes, what ever it takes to keep him busy and happy. Its crazy most of the time, but I just decided that I have make my weight loss a priority. even if I can't squeeze in as much excersise as I like to lose fast, I can watch what I eat and lose slowly. Last summer, I weighed about what I weigh now so some time between Spetember and December (when I went back to WW), I gained 20 pounds!!! That is just not healthy and not acceptable for my self. I totally didn't see it happen either. One day I just woke up and since nothing fit, I said I wasn't going to take being busy as an excuse for being fat. I don't care how long it takes I just don't want to gain again. So I've lost 19 pound in 5 months but that is so much better than gaining that I am happy.

Sorry for that rant, sometimes I have to remind my self how commited I am to keep my self commited.

Anyway, I had a good day. I had bagel sandwich for lunch, hummus, not cream cheese, so not to many points in that one. Then I went to an art opening and they had wine and cheese and the whole bit but I just had a few grapes and one glass of wine. For dinner I had a really nice salad, no bread or anything and I split a desert with 2 friends. So all in all, a good day. Plus after work I did get to the gym and did the ellyptical for 60m inutes. that always makes me feel good. Keeping my finers crossed for my WI.

I hope every one has a good weekend. I'll check in after my WI and let you know how I did.

You all keep me so motivated and optamistic. thank you so much.

05-13-2005, 11:33 PM
Petra - Way to go girl :cb: :encore: :cheer:. That is amazing!! I am so proud of you. Keep up the great work. You need to give yourself 2 flowers.

Hey there my partners !!

It is now 10:30 on Friday night and I am just sitting down to catch up on all the threads that I have missed over the past few days. This board is getting really busy.. that is awesome :D

Normally I would try to catch up with everyone, but I think at this point I will just say....
HELLO to everyone
CONGRATS to those of you that have lost weight this week :flow1:
WELCOME to anyone new :goodluck:
HANG IN THERE to anyone having a rough time :grouphug:
GOOD LUCK to anyone who has a weigh-in in the next few days :crossed: :)
and as always KEEP ON KEEPING ON !!

I have my first weigh-in monday morning.. so hope to be joining you all with a flashy flower. It has been a pretty good first week. I have a BBQ to go to tomorrow night, so that will be the first big test; however, I still have all my flex points so not really sweating it.

Other than that I will have my head in my school books all weekend. I am currently working full time and taking school at night. I am studying to take my accounting designation entrance exam next summer.. so the next 12 months are going to be hectic...although I do have 2 months off during the summer :dizzy:

Well I better go get some sleep. Take care and TTYS.

05-14-2005, 11:22 AM
It is not official but I knew I lost weight this week. My starting weight at WW is 6.5 lbs less than what I weighed last friday when I begun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!1

I couldn't believe how many people were at the meeting this morning!! There was about 40 people on a Saturday morning!! I am pumped! Ate breakfast after I got home and came here to post!

Today we are having a BBQ at our house. My stepson is coming over with his wife and 2 kids. My sis in law and family. I have already decided I will eat mostly veggies and fruit! Well, going to be a busy day. Mallissa has swimming, dance and open gym today. She will be gone most of the morning and afternoon. I get 3 whole hours to myself to clean and go to the grocery store.

Everyone have a great day!!

05-14-2005, 11:34 AM
Morning Ladies - Hope all is well with everyone. I just woke up a half hour ago so I have not even had my coffee yet :coffee:. I have a busy day today with a birthday party and a baby shower :dizzy:. Oh yeah and dh is going on a guys camping trip tonight so it's just me and the kids .

05-14-2005, 11:50 AM
Lisa WY~ Great job on the weight loss (even if it ISN'T official yet). Awesome job!

MomX3~ Sounds like you're in for a busy day. I hope you find the time to relax and enjoy the party and/or shower. Don't stress over the temptations. You can do it!

ClipClop~ Hi back atcha!

Deerod~ Enjoy that cheat day. Could you eat something naughty for me? Sort of like a toast in my honor? LOL.

I was sitting here this morning,:coffee: writing in my journal and found myself sounding like a broken record, bemoaning the fact that I do what I think is right as far as OP food, water and exercise 5 days a week and the weight isn't budging. I got sick of hearing my self whine :bb:and got back to my house work. I'll simpy have to try a gazillion times harder, do something entirely different or give up. Giving up isn't an option (I'm not suicidal!) So I have two choices left. :ebike: :dancer: :strong: :tread: But right now... I'm going to get back to my house work until noon or 12:30 so I can exercise then shower for work.

I'm back in uniform tomorrow (yeah, my day off) and I'm wondering if that dumb smokey da bear hat :drill: is going to fit over this clump of hair. I'm trying to grow it back out and it's being unruly. I guess I'd better figure that out today, I may have to chop at it a bit to make it fit under that dumb hat.

Hip hip everyone. Enjoy your week end.

05-14-2005, 11:51 PM
Hi everyone. I've had a really busy day. Lots of laundry, and shopping, and yardwork, and stuff like that. I got to hang my laundry out on the line which for some strange reason I actually enjoy. I also bought an interesting book today about Low Carb Diets. It reviews all the diets and the science behind them. I may actually switch the plan I'm on to make my life a little simpler and maybe improve my weight loss results after reading all this. At the back of the book, he reviews websites and even mentions this one. He has lots of positive things to say about the website even though it isn't "low carb" per se, but you can get reliable low carb info here. One thing that really stood out from this book for me is where he talked about refined sugar carbs being almost like a drug for some people like alcohol is for alcoholics. I think I am probably one of those people. We always have sweets in the office because drug reps bring them in--candy, cookies, donuts, you name it. Before, I used to feel like they were calling my name. Now, I don't even want them anymore. I'm actually afraid to eat them again because I'm afraid if I start I won't be able to stop and maybe that's not a bad thing. There was lots of other good stuff in the book but I know I'm the only low carber on the thread so I won't rant.

I haven't figured out how to put anything in my signature yet. Can anyone tell me how?

05-15-2005, 12:23 AM
Well I made it through the day. Even with the parties. I just ate healthy before I left and turned down everything (including cake:( ). I did eat some fruit at the shower though and it was really good. Maybe my tastes are starting to change. Although dh brought home pizza last night and I almost caved . Instead I ate half of a pepperoni and was fine with my healthy choice dinner :smug: .

petra - go to user cp on the top of the page (left hand side ) under setting and options click on edit signature it will walk you through it. You can also go into edit avatar if you want some kind of picture. I think you are right about the sugar carbs I always used to tell my dh that I was addicted to ice cream :^:. I think everyone thought it was funny but I was serious.

Hope everyone had a great day!!

05-15-2005, 11:59 AM
GDay fellow partners in crime !

Must be the weekend.. not too many posts. I just poured a :coffee: so thought I would check in with you all before I start the day.

Went to a BBQ last night and did alright. You know how BBQs can be.. either lots of good choice or lots of bad choice.. unfortunately what you think are good choices often add up in points real quick. Oh well.. I still had all my flex points from the week, so I didn't do too bad..

LISA ~ Great Job.. so proud of you !!! :cp: Don't forget to give yourself a flashy flower. Sounds like you have a real busy WW meeting. I use to attend meetings and there was generally only about 15 people at them.. sounds like you have found a good one. Hope your BBQ went well and that you enjoyed the time that you had to yourself (although cleaning and grocery shopping aren't much fun!)

MOMX3 ~ good job on making it through your parties ! Sounds like you were able to make some good food choices and well done on staying away from the :jeno: !

HOTCUPOJAVA ~ Sorry to hear that you have been having a rough time.. but look at far you have already come WOW.. stick with it and lean on us as much as you need to !

PETRA ~ sounds like you had a busy Saturday.. hopefully you will get some time to relax today. I know what you mean about being a sugar addict.. we also tend to have lots of sweets in the office and it has come to the point where I just have to avoid them at all cost. If I have one I am doomed. It is good that you can recognize that in yourself and it will help you avoid any sugar disasters

Hope you all have a great day and I will chat with you soon !

Ciao for now.....

05-15-2005, 03:43 PM
So listen to this.....dh has the tail end of a wicked cough and decided to stay up late last night watching tv. I, on the other hand went to bed at 10:30 exhausted. Just before going to bed, I said to dh.....I'll let you sleep in and won't wake you when going to church. Okay he said. I get back from church around noon, and he said..."thanks for not waking me....geesh, you wouldn't know it from the open blinds and curtains!!" I said what time did you wake up?....11:30 he said. And thats NOT sleeping in? God I was soooo pissed off at him!!! Meanwhile, I got up at 8, did my routine stuff, got the boys ready, went to church all the while doing my best to follow along while seperating them.....and THAT'S THE THANKS I GET? GRRRRRRR

Going to have to watch the "impulse" eating today for the frustration I feel. Sorry to vent but GRRRRR!!! Nice to read everyone's posts for the last few days. I'm finally over our garage sale preparations, so I'll be on alot more now. tc

05-15-2005, 05:32 PM
Howdy Everyone!!!

I did ok at the BBQ yesterday. My stepson and family came over right when I got home picking up Mallissa. My sis in law and family were LATE as usual. LOL I forgot to tell them 3...when I wanted them at 4..... and my niece didn't show up until almost 5. I used my points yesterday..I sure did. LOL Last week, before I started going to the meetings, I wasn't sure how many points I got. I actually get 6 more a day plus the 35 "extra" you get for the week. I didn't go over so I shouldn't beat myself up. But I did have to chase Skyler around so I probably washed some of them out. LOL

Today, because it is our lazy day, although we are giving my stepson and wife a break by watching the girls. Daughter in law was in a car accident last week, the airbag bruised her and my stepson had a hernia and they operated Friday. We enjoy having the girls around. I did go to Once Upon A Child (used retail children's store) and got all 3 of the girls some clothes. I love it there...they have some great bargains and some pretty nice clothing. I bought the baby about 8 things, Sklyer about 6 and Mallissa about 6 and didn't spent $50.00. Most of the clothes were almost new and some of them were new.

I am having problems getting my water in. URGGGG. I am only about 1/2 way there and normally I would have drank all my water plus. I took the girls to the park today. I wanted to walk around a bit but we didn't have the stroller. So I told Mallissa we would go back later this afternoon and I didn't get to the pool like I wanted. Well, there is always a walk or the stair stepper. LOL But I am sure I expend tons of energy trying to get all 3 in the van. OMG, it is so hard strapping them in and out!!!

Angel: Men don't think, that is why I have the girls today. LOL Dave volunteered us. My question is..when do I get a break??? One day I will tell everyone more about our situation with my family and you will understand why we allow no one to watch Mallissa unless we hire a babysitter.

Clipclop: I did have fruit and no fat ruffles at my BBQ. I did eat my fruit when most were eating the turtle cake. LOL No one noticed that the Ruffles were no fat until they saw the bag.. I couldn't tell the difference. I went light on them anyway. I did have some cole slaw(bad, bad, me on my burger) and I had some potatoe salad but not a ton. I guess we need to do this every once in a while.

Mox3: Good job with the pizza. I probably would of ate a whole piece and had some salad or fruit. I don't do frozen dinner well. Great Job!!!!

Mary_java: I hate hats..Luckily, I don't have to wear one for work. I look horrible in hats... Mallissa looks great in hats but won't wear on for the world. LOL Even when she was little. Don't beat yourself up...You CAN DO IT!! Sometimes we just have to think outside the box.

Everyone else: I hope I didn't miss too many..have a great rest of the weekend.

Remeber..we are all in the same throw out some life preservers..and jump on board.

05-15-2005, 08:09 PM
Hi ladies. I'm having a pretty good day. The weather started out cloudy but cleared up. I'm going on a camping trip next month and haven't been camping since I was a girl scout (about 30 years ago). My friend who was here last weekend (and cleaned out the refrigerator) is a camper so he went to the camping store with me and made a checklist of all the stuff I need for my trip and today I went and got some stuff. I think once I have the stuff I may go more often. I live pretty close to the Pocono Mountains, if anyone has heard of them, so there are plenty of places to go camping nearby. I would especially like it if I could take my boys--Buddy and Kobe.

Speaking of which, I took my boys on a nice 45 minute walk and they were pooped when we got back. Poor Buddy who is 7 and has had a lot of health problems, got in the house and plopped himself on the floor. Even my lab who is usually hyper was worn out.

I've been doing some more reading on low carb dieting. Soon I will be the low carb goddess, LOL. Also, trying to refine my eating plan. Fortunately, I'm also a pretty good cook. I think I am going to switch to Protein Power as it seems to fit my lifestyle a little better and will allow me to eat some good quality carbs (high fiber fruits and veggies). It won't be a major switch from what I'm doing either. I'll let you know how it works out.

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend. Sorry about the husband problems but like I said, I'm happier being single with every passing year.

05-15-2005, 11:11 PM
Hey Ladies,
I got to get off to bed so this is just a quick post....
I went to WI, and lost 2.2!!! yeah me. now I get my pedicure and have to think of a new reward. I'm not sure when I wil have time for the pedi, maybe tuesday.

Lisa, I love once upon a chld, I sell my sons sutff there all the time.

Petra, the camping sounds fun. I've been thinking of going I used to go a lot when I was kid with my parents (they were hippie types) are you going to be hikeing too?

ClipClop, BBQ are the worst for me. I am such a grazer and its hard for me to stop. I'm sure you did better than I would have.

Deerod, How was the cheat day?

Angel-eyes, men are nuts at times and so inconsiderate

hotcup, I might have missed it in one of your other post but what is the uniform that you are returing to?

and everyone else, I hope you have a good weekend and I can't wait to read your updates.

05-16-2005, 01:02 AM

Jennie and Lookin:
It is so great to lose weight!!!! I am pumped. I have my little weight watchers information in my purse and counting my points. I know I can do this!!

Although this weekend was not the best in the world, I always do better during the week. I miss having meetings on Monday. LOL I knew then I couldn't cheat at all on the weekends and still manage to lose weight. Now, I go on Saturday morning so I can blow it on Saturday and think in my mind I can be ok. Actually last night I counted the points of what I ate during the weekend and it actually wasn't horrible. I was within my point range but the foods I picked..I am sure weren't the best in the world. But I did only take small portions of them so I think I am ok. I did manage to get my exercise in. I took Mallissa and Skyler to the park and we walked around the lake. It was a beautiful day and felt great to be in the outdoors. We do have another BBQ in 2 weeks at my sis in laws.. I am hoping someone brings the fruit. LOL I am going to try to make cole slaw this week with low fat mayo and 1/2 the sugar and if it passes the "dh" test..I will take it with me to the BBQ. I love coleslaw during the summer and even use it on my burger. Points wise it is not horrible as potato salad. LOL

Petra: I love to camp. My ex and I would do it every year in the Smokey Mountains. Now I live in the Rocky Mountains I don't camp. LOL Dave's idea of camping is an RV. We thought about renting one for our trip to South Dakota this summer but then again..I love being in a hotel. LOL

It is only 8:30 and I have gotten 1/2 my water in already. :-) At lunchtime I am running to the grocery store to restock at work. Need to get some veggies. I bought some fat free mayo..but left it at home :-( I have been eating mustard on ham sandwiches and it is not too bad. I have to have variety or I go nuts. LOL Maybe it is the ADHD in me. LOL

Hi girls. Today I am in 'super clean mode', after the garage sale packup...there is still alot of things that I didn't include in the sale that need to be put away and then theres the never ending pile of laundry that I didn't get to!! LOL lucky me.

Congratulations to the losers this weekend. I did a 'maintain' today, so I'm hoping to get back into the gym mode and to get some more fibre into me...**wink wink** Gosh, what a problem not enough fibre can do to your constitution!! (nice subject huh?) LOL

Petra.......We are also going camping for the first time in 20years, Memorial weekend. I am sooo clueless about it also. We are going with some new friends (since moving to this area) so I hope we'll have a great time.

KClay......How is the wee baby and new mom doing? Congratulations Gma!! Any pics to share yet?

Lisa.........good for you with the water guzzling!! It certainly makes a difference. Sounds like you did fine at the bbq. I have another salad/dessert thing you can make. Its with ff cool whip, mandarin oranges, pineapple and marshmallows and something else.... I'll find it for you....its called 5Cup Salad. You'll love it, nice and whippy and easy on the points.

Well this is just a quickie as I have a TON of things to do. Have a good one!!

Morning All - Everyone must have had a busy weekend. That's good it keeps our minds off of other things :cookie: :jeno:.

angeleyes - good luck with the fiber ;). With all the cleaning you will be getting your exercise in :workout:.

Lisa - BBQ's are the hardest!! All that good food and of course you always have the little people telling you a little bit won't hurt.

lookin - 3 lbs!!! Great job :cb: :cp:. You are doing it girl!!!

jennie - 2.2 lbs!!! You get to have pretty feet :D. Great job hon!!!

Petra - I did the protein power once. I liked it alot better than Atkins because you have more choices. Good Luck! Don't wear out the pooch's to much .

clipclop - I'm glad you are doing so well with your points. Keep it up!

I think I'm going to have to do something about my goal because I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed right now with such a large number. I want to be able to go out on my boat this summer in a bathing suit which I'm not going to do now. I want to wear shorts which I'm not going to do now. I want to wear a tank top which I'm not going to do now.

Sorry ladies I'm just very tired today :tired: and not on my game. And on top of it all I was trying to have a panic attack on the way to work:mad: which makes me feel like s:censored:t all day.

Anyway I'll talk to you all later and maybe I will be in a better mood.

05-16-2005, 05:49 PM

05-16-2005, 06:24 PM

05-16-2005, 07:57 PM
Hello everyone! I was told this was a great place to hang out! Momx3 thought I might like it here. I was skimming through SOME of the posts (there are only about 1,000,000,000 posts in this support group :dizzy: ), but I hope to get to know all of you by visiting here everyday.

You all seem to be so motivated and have a clear vision of your goal to lose weight. Even when things don't go quite as well as expected. I introduced myself the other day in "Buddy Up" and thought I'd try to make myself at home. I sincerely believe that support is HUGE in trying to lose weight. Glad I found this place. :)

name: Laurie
location: MN
age: 37
sex: Female
marital status: Married
highest weight: 221
current weight (last weigh in): 221 (at MD office on Friday, but my scale says 214) :?:
goal weight: 145
current clothing size: 18/20 in pants
goal clothing size: 8/10
kids: Boy 15, girl 9
pets: 2 wonderful cats
diet (currently on or planning to start): Low fat, low cal

I want to still be able to eat some of the things I enjoy. I have dieted before and deprived myself of some of the more "bad" foods only to end up failing again and again. This time I think exercise is the key for me, as well as choosing the more healthy foods.

I think it sounds like a good plan. I hope it works out for me this time. I'm tired of being depressed about a problem I can fix.

Welcome AnnieRN :) and good luck on your journey :goodluck:

Thank you MoonRay! Glad to be here. :)

Hi ladies - Well I think I'm in a better mood. It's the eating that's getting me down. I have not cheated but I got really hungry last night. Maybe I'm not eating enough. Anyway I just got home from curves and feel much better :D.

Annie - I'm so glad you made it :hat:. This is such a wonderful group of women you will love it here ;). Welcome, Welcome, Welcome.

Moon - I know I should concentrate on 1 pound at a time but sometimes it's just all so overwhelming. Oh well like I said I do feel better now. Thanks for your support

Sunshine - 2 more pounds!! You are amazing. Keep up the awesome work!!!

Dee - look forward to hearing from you tonight :listen:.

Hi everyone. Today was my first real day trying to follow Protein Power and I did pretty well. I met my protein and carb allowances. I didn't quite meet the fiber recommendation but it is pretty high--25 grams. I only got 13 grams. Interestingly, this is the lowest fat day I have had since I have been tracking my food on Fit Day so maybe I am on to something nutritionally.

Welcome to Annie. It is nice to have another health care professional. I am an internist and psychiatrist but really only practice psychiatry anymore. These are a great bunch of ladies. I think you will like it here.

05-16-2005, 11:03 PM
I'm so excited. Last Thursday I had the kids picture taken and I wanted you ladies to see it so bad so I took a picture with my digital camera and it is in my profile. It is not as good as the original but you can see them. They are so beautiful and I love  them so much that I just had to share them with all of you, my friends.

For those of you that are not familiar yet just click on my avatar (my fat stretchy lady )

Godness Gracious.. this thread has gotten so popular if you miss one day you fall behind.. and more than that is an uh-oh.. I'm so sorry that I havent been on in soo long
things here are pretty hectic.. we had our house built and moved in on January 20,2005.. we had some family emergencies come up, so we are now just having our housewarming party
that my sister was "supposedly" going to throw for us, but it seems as if we are pretty much throwing it for ourselves.. (This is a Huge pain in my butt).. I'm not into crowds
so I'm dreading Sunday.. well I'm going to respond to the threads I missed one by one, so each person might have more that one reply.. please bear with me I've had a hectic couple
of days..

ClipClop: Yumm.. I love Bar-b-q... and since I live in Texas it's a huge food staple.. :queen:

Lisa WY: wow.. that is awesome!!! 6.5 lbs.. I am very very very proud of you.. keep up the great work..:queen:

Hotcupojava: I really did enjoy my cheat day.. I had 2 hamburger patties for breakfast, bean and cheese nachos for lunch, peanuts, steak and shrimp with a baked potato for dinner, and a
chocolate strawberry banana shake for dessert.. I think I ate enough junk for everyone.. but I got back on track Sunday.. I'm sorry to hear that you we're feeling down as you were writing
in your journal.. but don't fret.. we all believe in you and we know you can do it.. :queen:

momX3: I'm so proud of you for doing so well at the parties.. we all know how hard it is when people keep putting bad stuff in front of your face.. :queen:

ClipClop: don't feel bad about the bar-b-q.. if you want to eat something that bad, you have to.. cause if you deprive yourself of what you really want
you'll probably end up giving up.. you are doing so well.. I am very proud of you.:queen:

angel-eyes: oh geez.. men!!!.. but what can you do?? :queen:

Lisa WY: my sister is the same way.. we have to tell her that the time of the party is an hour earlier than it really is.. and sometimes she's still late.. ha ha.. :queen:

petra65: I used to be big in low carb-ing.. many people have different opinions on different diets, but i say if it works for you and it makes you feel better.. then go for it.. I support
you % 110.. and don't be afraid of sharing what you learn on low carb-ing you can talk about it all you want.. we are here to help each other, not to critisize.. :queen:

jennie934: Awesome job!!! 2.2lbs.. wonderful.. you go girl!! :queen:

~~Sunshine~~: wow.. 26 lbs.. that is a huge accomplishment.. just imagine carrying a 20 lb bag of dry dog food.. that is very very impressive.. keep up the great work.. :queen:

AnnieRN: WELCOME!!.. so glad to have you hear.. the people on this board are the BEST.. make yourself at home.. I'm doing low fat low cal as well.. for the same reasons ( I can still have what I want to
eat, I just have to measure it and make sure I don't go over my totals.. 30 grams of fat and 1600 calories.. ) if you want to share anything or need any advice.. I'm here.. ..:queen:

momX2: glad to hear you are feeling better.. I read somewhere that bananas are good to eat at night, because they are heavy and they fill you up.. :queen:

petra65: I'm glad to hear that Protein Power is going well.. keep up the great work:queen:

momX3: awwww.. you're kids are lovely.. just absolute dolls.. I bet it's hard to tell them "no" sometimes.. ha ha:queen:

ClipClop: yay!!!! 6.1 lbs.. that is awesome!!.. you go girl.. we knew you could do it.. keep it up.. :queen:

kcaly61: awww he is gorgeous.. well worth the wait.. congrats again.. give him a kiss on the head for me.. :queen:

well ladies.. once again, it is way passed my bed time.. I've been real busy, but I've been sticking to my diet.. I feel bad because I havent had time to exercise but I'm still staying under my totals..
my weigh in is in a couple of hours.. and I'm kinda anxious and nervous at the same time.. I will let you know how it goes.. I hope you all have a great evening.. and I will talk to you tomorrow..

P.S. you are all Pic Chic Divas :queen: of the day..!!! keep up the great work..

05-17-2005, 09:04 AM

05-17-2005, 09:30 AM
Howdy Everyone!!!

had a busy day yesterday too! DIdn't get home until after 6 and still had to do the dinner thing. My biggest challenge with WW is getting in enough food. LOL I am close to 2 points lower so I do that but even with "cheating" a little on the number of points I came up short again. I feel like I am eating more food than before but it is a better food choice. I am having no problem getting my water in.

Deerod: I don't like big crowds either. I would rather not host family get togethers but our house is a little bigger and we have a fenced in yard. My sis in law lives out on the prarie and she will share hosting duties but the kids don't like playing at their house..too much open space. Good Luck today on your weigh in and hopefully you will be a big loser!!

Kclay: Just jump back on program. LIke a horse, you get thrown off, but you gotta get back on. The pictures are great!

Clipclop: AWESOME job!!!! YIPEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mox3: Beautiful kids!! Mallissa has her own website. The link is You can check us all out on there. LOL I haven't updated since December.

Petra: Good luck on your new program and keep us updated on how it works.

Annie: Welcome, I sent you a message on the newbie board, I am glad you found us!! I am doing Weight Watchers and love it. You don't have to deny yourself what you want to eat you just have to figure it in. You also have to increase your activity. I like the accountablity of going to the meetings. If I am paying for something, I will do better.

Sunshine: Great job and wow on the 26lbs. It feels great doesn't it!!!

Angel: If you have all that energy and want to house needs it. I don't know why I clean before I have company. My house is trashed right now. The kids got chips on the floor and there are times I wished I had a dog. LOL I picked up the big messes but now need to refine the cleaning. I still haven't figured out how to get a certain 5 year old to get on track and at least leave a walk way between her door and the bed...that is all I ask. LOL

Anyone I missed..sorry..I am running out of time this morning. LOL On my way to work. Today is a nothing day...we have nothing after I am making dinner. If dh doesn't get on the wagon and do some laundry there might be fireworks tonight. LOL Everyone have a great day!!

05-17-2005, 11:26 AM
:D Good Day Everyone:

It is a crazy busy week so far. I am so sorry I have not had time to get all caught up. CONGRATS to my friends who were losers, my friends who were maintainers, and my friends who are sticking with their plan. You are all doing awesome. Lifes trials and tribulations sure have thrown us all some curve balls, but glad we are all hanging in there 2gether!! ;)

Also, welcome to Annie...Glad you found us.

I am in cubicle food prison uggh.. I work in medical transcription (11 years with the same company) in a cubefarm. Anywhoo...It is national medical transcription week which apparently converts to daily endless tables of sweets and treats, and treat baggies, and candy all over my desk, and donuts, and danish, and coffee cake, and chex mix. It has been a  of a week so far. But I passed up the donuts and bagels on my way to get ice for my water from the freezer, gave my candy and treat bag from my desk to my neighbor who is thin as a rail and could use some 'junk in her trunk.' So far....I am okay :( but it is HARD. I haven't touched anything except a 1x1 inch square of danish (which I measured with a ruler). I figured just have a small bite and be done with it. Then I did 2 flights of stairs and back just because I felt so guilty.

Thank you for :listen: I have no idea what I would do without you.

Hugs to all TTYS. :grouphug:

Hi Everyone, Good morning,
OK, morining, I wasn't able to excersie yesterday so I got up early this morning and did my step. My son is with me at work today, he has off for election day. I still havn't found time to fit my pedicure in. I worked so hard to lose the weight and now I can't find the time to get my reward. least I did it.

deerod, great loss. you must feel so good! It paid off not steping on the scale. such a big success!! I know you ussually do this but I'd say you are the PIC diva of the day!

Lisa, some times I feel that way to about the points. If you make all the right choices it takes a lot to eat all of that but make one wrong choice and your points are go. its a good feeling though when you have stay on track. keep up the good work.

kclay, we all get off program once it a while, just bruch it off and get back on.

Moonray, I love jicima in things at restraunts, I've never vetured into buying it at the store. how does it look? I'll have to try and get some

Clip Clop, 6.1 go head! that is so excelent! keep it up. you and deerod are my inspiration for the week.

Petra, how is the protein power? is it like SBD? keep up the good work.

Annie, welcome, I feel like you do, this is a problem we can fix and there is lots of support here to help us do it!

If I missed anyone, I'm sorry, I gotta get back to work....I'll check in later, can't wait to see how everyone is doing today. ;)

""Ah, today's a bad day for me. Perhaps I should go for a walk and let myself calm down. I've only just begun this journey and it's not starting out too well. Under a bit of personal stress, as well. *takes deep breath*""

Stress is a big factor for most of us to get at the weight we are at now. Now you have to use the stress for good. Right now I am stressing and obsessing over losing weight. Probably not anymore healthy. LOL

Right now you are probably feeling overwhelmed. If I look at the big picture, I am too. I take it into smaller steps. I have 108lbs to lose. My first goal is the 8lbs. Then I will look at it in 25lbs segments. Easier that way. Don't get caught up in the numbers..think about how much better you feel.

When I went to the doctor 3 weeks ago and was so sick it gave me a wake up call. Not a bad thing. I worry a lot about my health especially my kidneys. My sister had her kidney taken out last year becuase of cancer. It was a horrible surgery. When I went to doctor for the kidney infection I thought in my mind it would happen to me too. I also have diabetes in my family and I am scared of that too. I do have PCOS. I know I have to work harder to lose weight but it is not impossible.

These are some of the things I am doing different this week than I did 2 weeks ago.

I have drank gallons of water. I do let myself drink pop twice a day if I want it, the last few days, I haven't wanted it. The old me would of picked up a Mt. Dew and not think twice. Now I am drinking water and a few diet pops.

The old me would of went to the grocery store and bought tons of junk food. The new me enjoyed going to the grocery store and seeing what new things I could eat.

The old me would of ran by McDonald's this morning because Mallissa and I were running late. The new me took the time out for breakfast for both of us.

A little while ago when I went to the post office I would of circled the block to find parking in front. Today is a 60/60 day (our temps are 60 but our wind is 60) and I would of wanted to park out front. Today, I was hoping I could find a space on the next block to walk to get the mail. I also might of went by a fast food place on my way back to work for a snack. The new me knows I have some yummy rice cakes on the counter.

You are not going to change overnight. None of us are. We only can try our best everyday and change our way of thinking to be sucessful. None of us are going to go from not being active to running a marathon. ALthough my goal by the end of the summer is to walk in our last fund raiser before Fall.

Consentrate on what is good right now.

Hello everyone!!.. having some down time at work so I thought I would check in.. I'm just so stoked that I've lost 12 lbs.. I know it seems slow, but I don't feel deprived and I'm not wanting to give up.. my husband mentioned to me on sunday that maybe we should put our diets on hold until after the housewarming party.. and I must be honest and tell you that I did consider it.. but when monday came along.. I could'nt make myself cheat.. I wanted a taco so bad, but I had my pic angel on my shoulder telling me..:nono: no no no .. you can have a taco on sunday.. ha ha.. I feel guilty that I Havent had the time to excersize, but that is something that I will start up again after the housewarming party.. and I've also decided that in 2 weeks... I'm going to cut down on refined carbs... since I've been eating low fat, i've been eating a ton of pasta and sugar, and i think it might be slowing me down a bit.. I plan to eat a ton of veggies and fruits.. and sugarfree stuff.. and I'm turning my cheat day into a cheat meal.. I'm waiting 2 weeks to completly get into this because our housewarming party is this Sunday.. my b-day is Monday.. and my nephews 2nd b-day is next Saturday.. and that way I can make a slow transition if I take things out little by little...

looking2loose: good job on avoiding the sweet drugs.. that takes alot of willpower..

jennie934: sorry you havent found time to get your pedicure done.. maybe this weekend? and yes.. I feel good about my loss.. honestly I was hoping for a little more (who doesnt) but at least I got into the 250's.. and thanks for crowning me.. it means alot to me.

lisa WY: wow!!! .. that reply you gave to Annie brought tears to my eyes.. very motivational .. I am very proud of you and all the decisions you've made.. and I totally agree that alot of us get caught up in the numbers, and thats one of the main reasons I decided to only weigh once a month.. you keep up with all the great work you are doing.. and with that attitude.. I know you will reach your goal..

I'll check in with you all later..

05-17-2005, 02:30 PM
Lisa - Laughed so hard about having a dog to clean up the messes because that is what we do. We have a rottweiler and when the baby is eating we let him outside. When she is done we say "bring in the vaccuum" and he cleans it all up. Oh and I'm loving the new you ;). What an inspiration to us all. Keep it up. Mallissa is beautiful by the way!!!

Jennie - good job on doing the step today and don't worry your reward will be there when you are ready :).

looking2lose - I'm so proud of you for not giving in to temptation. That is the hardest especially when everyone else is having it. You just want to smack them :s: but you are holding strong. Great Job!!

Dee - Girl I don't even know how to express how happy I am for you. You have been so strong :strong:. 12 pounds WOW!!!!!!! :encore: :encore:

Clipclop - Congrats on your first weigh in :goodscale 6.1 pounds. I knew you could do it :cb: :cb:. Keep up the good work!!

kclay - what a beautiful baby :bb:. You must be so proud . Thanks for sharing him with us.

Have a great day ladies.

Howdy Partners !!

I stopped to have my lunch, so thought I would take a minute to get caught up with the day's events. I have school tonight, so won't get a chance later.

Today is a weird day.. I am totally sticking to my points, but feel like I want something different. I get into food ruts where I eat the same thing day in and day out. I really need to toss things up a bit !!

KCLAY ~ hope all is well with you ! Your grandson is beautiful

DEEROD ~ Great Job !! You have been so dedicated and have kicked 12 lbs to the curb

LISA ~ I am with you on not getting enough food in on WW. I think I just need to plan better. I eat breaky at home and pack a lunch, but then I get home and eat dinner and find I have points left, and I don't feel like eating too much right before bed. Maybe I need to bring more snacks to work...

LOOKING2LOSE ~ more and more I think we work in the same place !! Right now there is a box of chocolates and a pick pack of peppermint patties on our common table. For some reason if someone wants chocolate they decide to bring some for everyone... they are driving me crazy :dizzy: I have managed to stay away from it, so am happy about that, but just wish it would disappear.

JENNIE ~ you will find the time to get your pedicure.. and will love it ! I don't know about you, but I always find time for everything else, except myself. I have been working on a list of rewards for myself.. that are not food related.. some suggestions.. a new CD, books, flowers, new PJs (i live in my pj's when at home), haircut, a day on the couch with a few movies.. You will think of something !

MOMX3 ~ hope you are having a great day !

Thanks to all of you for your congrats on my loss.. you are a great group of women.. very inspirational, motivating and supportive. I am glad to have found you all !! :o

Have a great day and TTYS.
