Challenges for the week!
1. Get an extra day of exercise this week, and post all of the sessions on the exercise board!
2. Tell us what your best talent or trait is. What are you good at!? Learning to love ourselves is important in making permanent positive changes.
3. Set a mini goal for yourself, and share what you will reward yourself with. And a food reward is NOT allowed! :)
Ok, my sugarbusterin' buddies, lets make this a great week! We CAN do it!

Okay...the forecast calls for rain and snow showers all day today, but there's not a cloud in the sky in my neighborhood...so I'll be walking the dog this morning, taking DD to school to get in a walk early before things go downhill. Will be wearing my winter jacket...
Junior is a big clod, but we love him. He got in trouble this morning when I took him outside for a few minutes...he had NO accidents all night in the kitchen, where he's quardened off because he seems to prefer sleeping there and this way I can limit the places for surprises to at least that room. BUT, I took him out and he wandered around for a while and then came inside and peed right away. So, out he went after a scolding...poor baby. :( He really is a big ball of love and I really don't like yelling at him. But just like kids, ya gotta set the boundaries early!! At least that's what they tell me...
Okay...gotta go get ready for my walk and make lunch for DD. She was off last week and she always gets all teary-eyed the night before going back to school after some time off and says she likes being home with me and hates school. Which, she actually loves school, she just doesn't like getting up in the morning.
Will be back later on...

What am I good at? I think I'm good at crocheting. I make big afghans for my nieces and nephews when they go off to college for their dorm rooms. I think they like them... I'm also good around kids and love to be around them...taught Sunday School for about ten years (first graders) and have been a Girl Scout leader for five years. When my DS goes to school, I have designs on becoming a substitute teacher in my daughter's and son's schools...this way I will still have some days off to take care of the house and things and when there is no school (holidays, snowday, etc) I'll be able to be home with the kids without having to take a day off from work.
Okay...those are the things I'm good at...extra day of exercise will depend on the weather. Which means, this week I may be at a deficit!!
Oh, and my mini goal is listed below. I'm actually not at my low anymore, but plan to be soon...once the weather gets better and I can get back outside. DH is gone on work this week to NJ, so I should be able to stay on plan with him and his evil ways out of the house!!

Good Morning! I slept very well again last night. Of course, it may have been the Red Stripe I drank with my two pieces of ww pizza last night late that helped. :s:
I have to go shopping at Sam's and Costco this morning for two church events...the arts festival and some meetings they are having about us buying the building we are meeting in. Thankfully I am not in charge of the meetings, I am just helping the gal who is.
Update on the plumbing: I think he is making progress, but there is no hot water to my bathroom yet. He said he thinks he can do it in just a little bit of time, but last night, he was afraid if something went wrong, he might be up all night restoring water to the essential places where we have it now...like the one shower that works and the kitchen. He was tired, and I agreed he should do what he felt best about..which at that point was to go to bed! Looks like another shower in James' shower. :(
I hope everyone is doing well.
We are missing some folks: Woodfrogs and Fruit are two I have not seen on lately. I really miss SEF and wish she would come back!

Morning everyone. Here I am at home and not at work. It was nice sleeping a little extra this morning. Well the sun is out but only supposed to be around 60 today and more rain moving in tonight. The week doesnt sound too well with the weather. Im going to head out to Lowes here shortly and pick up a few things, then a couple more stops. DD gave me a whole bunch of firm tapes last night ( which I did one so far) and Im excitied to do some new workouts here for a while.
Tell us what your best talent or trait is. What are you good at!?
HM, Ive had to think on this one. When I didnt work I painted so I would of said that cept I havnt done that now in years for lack of time. I guess Im a good organizer I have everything so organized at work that if someone asks me to trace a check I can find info within a few minutes. Ive always loved doing crafts and usually make one type of thing for Christmas I give to everyone as a side gift. Of course I dont have much time except for maybe one time of year to do much of that .

Morning all!
This will be a hit or miss week with me. One of my aunts died this weekend and I will leave tomorrow morning to go to NC for the funeral. I'll get back on Wednesday and then will be frantically trying to get everything done before we leave for Italy on the third. My DM is pretty bummed as this is the second sister she has lost in a month, so I really need to go to the funeral. I'm just glad it didn't happen while we were gone. My Mom was so worried that it would. This was her oldest sister and the one that was like a second mama to her (my DM is the youngest of 7), so this one is especially hard.
I will check in when I can, but it may not be until Thursday, so don't worry if you don't hear from me.
I hope everyone had a good OP week and I will look forward to hearing about all your talents when I get back. I'd tell you about mine now, but there are so very many, that I just don't have the time right now!
Love you all!

Good morning Ladies.
I haven't had time to go back and read the weekend posts. Hope to do that sometime today. Eating was good all weekend with the exception of Friday night, we did Mexican. Need I say more. But I didn't eat near as many chips as I normally do. Yesterday I fixed that problem. I made up a whole tin full of chips from ww tortillas. Next time I will take them with me. All my other meals were legal, just heavy. Pork chops on Sat and last night homemade ww pizza. The scale was up 4 lbs this morning. I hate Monday weigh-ins. I got up early and got 20 minutes of wt training in. Hopefully we will be able toget our 3 miles in tonight. The weekend was so cold and nasty, we didn't get any walks in. They are calling for more rain tonight and tomorrow. What happened to our warm weather? Hope it gets it out of its system this week and is nice for Derby week next week.
Monet, I like your challenges this week. I will try to get that extra exercise in. What are my talents. That is hard. I don't have any artistic talents, art, sewing, etc. I am a good organizer, and a very hard worker. I get more done in a given time, then most people. I don't know if that is a talent, but that's it for me. Sure hope you get that plumbing fixed soon. It has to be frustrating.
Susan, so sorry to hear about your aunt. Prayers for your mom and your family during this hard time. Have a safe trip. I thought about you (at least I think it was you) at the Churchill gala the other night they had a chocolate fountain. I tried it, but didn't care for it. I thought it was you that raved about them at weddings. But then again, I'm not a big chocolate lover either.
Cindy, your weather sounds identical to ours. We had sleet Sat night. It really put a damper on our big fireworks show. We didn't go.
Tech, if that was the only accident Jr had,you are lucky. It just takes time. You sound like you are good with kids.
Have a great OP day. Hope to be back later.

I had a really tough weekend foodwise. My DH turned 65 on Sunday and he wanted lobster for his birthday dinner. Our kids came over last night and fixed dinner, so we had the lobster on Sat. night. I fixed it with beurre blanc sauce, fried shoestring sweet potatoes, and a salad with avocado. All SB legal, but way too many calories. Then friends took us out for lunch yesterday in honor of his Bday and took us to an Italian restaurant. Then last night the kids fixed Japanese food, (nothing raw, thank goodness) with what I call potstickers, some sort of rolled beef thing, and tempura veggies. Our DD fixed a cake and I only had a tiny piece. Pretty much SB legal, not totally, but probably caloric. So my weight goal did not happen. :( I have my DH an iPod mini and he can use it when we are travelling. It is really a neat little gadget.
Hmmm. What am I good at? Hmmm. Well, I am really a good cook. What you might get for a meal at a gourmet restaurant I can fix at home fairly easily. That's probably something that contributes to my weight problem. I love what I fix. :(
I am also good at organizing and administration--I can take a committee, group or project that is floundering ineffectively and get that baby back on its feet and walking in a reasonable amount of time. I am good at interior decorating and gardening and right now love how my butterfly garden looks.
Monet--I can tell that you are good a lots of stuff, one of them being the moderator of this board.
Susan--so sorry to hear of your aunt's death. That is so sad. I know your mom is glad you were here for her.
Tech--Wow, it's hard to believe that it is snowing when we are having such nice weather here. Our spring has been wonderfully cool--in the 70's today--and we are just soaking it up before the 90's arrive. Hope your doggie gets trained soon.
I have lots to do today, so will sign off.
Ellen

Just a fly by...I am waiting for my ride to go shopping for the church events.
GATOR: We have so much in common...I really would love to meet you face to face some day!
FILLISE: I am so sorry to hear about your aunt. I will be praying for you, and for your mom to be comforted in her loss.
TECH: Sounds like things are going well with Junior. Sometimes, I kind of think a dog would be nice, but the six cats that live here would probably NOT agree! :lol3:
gotta go!

Fillise: So sorry to hear about your aunt. I lost my favorite aunt in 1997 and I'll never, ever stop missing her. I just keep telling myself she's one more reason to look forward to heaven :D
Cindy: I like, and I'm told I'm good at, crafts and I do a craft for Christmas as well. I have to ship out presents to every single family member on my side and my husband's side of the family in California. Two years ago I made a half dozen Christmas wreaths (you can never have too many, I say!!), this year, my daughter and I painted ceramic tree ornaments with acrylics and spray glaze...my son made some, too! They were really 'ecclectic' I like to get them in the habit of making nice things for gifts... One other thing my DD and I like to do is get Sculpey clay (I get it at Michael's), take small pieces of two or three different colors and roll them together so they swirl, but don't blend, into a ball, poke a hole in them and make beads. We bake them and then get some hemp string and make macrame-like jewelry. We did this in Girl Scouts, too... BUT, I am NOT the least bit organized...and I'm a master procrastinator, which drives me NUTS about myself. :(
Gator: I'm trying to learn to be a good cook. My mom is NOT a good cook at all. She would act like she was making gourmet food when she made chipped beef on toast...commonly called ---- on a shingle  But she got the 'recipe' from my gramma on my dad's side. She made Thanksgiving dinner ONCE way before I was even born and then my dad took over the turkey making in the house. I can't tell you how many times we had canned spaghetti with boiled hot dogs for dinner...the whole family! Not just the kids because we were picky. Every now and then we'd get pot roast, but who can't cook that? Just put a slab 'o meat in the pot with onions and boil the crap out of it. But...she tried...and I don't know why she's like that...my gramma (her mom) literally always had on her apron and was always making something fabulous, unless she was sewing something. My mom doesn't sew, either. I think it was such a strong gene from my gramma that it became an anti-gene in my mom. What I'm trying to say is that I like to cook, but I've had to teach myself all the basics because my mom taught me to open a can and ring the dinner bell!! I'm learning little by little.
Jack: This weather is a real drag, isn't it? It's just lovely to have my English Sheepdog romping through the puddles in the back yard. I'm having to mop the floor every day. Oh, well...this, too, shall pass, right? Actually, the forecast for today here was supposed to be really bad, and even though it's cold out, the sun's out, which is fine with me!! I'd like to take the dog out for a walk, but my son is complaining he's tired (we walked DD to school this morning) and that his feet hurt. I tell ya, he sounds like an old lady sometimes!! And Junior is out on the back porch sleeping and DD came home early from school because she felt shaky and a little pukey. So, I just got my TOM and should be the one complaining, but I'm raring to go. Go figure.
Monet: Once again you amaze me with your ability to plan out dinner party-type situations. It seems like you always have something you're planning out as if your just planning dinner for he family. I'm already obsessing over DD's birthday party. We always invite her entire class...there's only 14 kids in the class...and we have cake, ice cream, and order a pizza, but now that they're in fifth grade, they're getting harder to amuse with games. I like to do Simon Says and torture the boys by making them say things like "I am Sailor Moon!!" and pose like one of Charlie's Angels. :s: They do it, too...it's all about the prize, man!!
Well, I should go check on DD. She came home sick this morning and I sent her up to go to sleep. She's always sick the first day back after vacation.
And my dog has had plenty of other accidents. He's been spending more and more time in the back yard. We were blessed when be bought the house that it has a huge fenced-in back yard. Junior loves it!! He has a few toys he romps around with and the kids love playing with him. Then I try and get him to come in and he just sits down because he's busy playing. He's so cute. But he's a pain to walk, being a herding breed, he keeps cutting me off! It's pretty funny, actually. It's neat to see the breeding instinct coming out.
Okay...off to do something constructive!! I'd hang wash out to dry, but I know that would bring on the forecasted rain for sure!! I might as well just wash my car!!

Good Morning:
Gheez, will my kids ever get well? Britt has only missed three days of school this year (that's only because she always seems to get sick on the weekends). She said she was cold when I picked her up on Friday from school. I felt her head and she had a fever. She kept the fever most of the weekend, and also had a headache. She felt nauseus all day yesterday; she had diarrhea, but never did throw up (although she felt it coming a few times). I kept her home today just to make sure she can keep her food down without feeling sick, and to make sure her fever is completely gone.
I have been pretty well this year too. However, last Thurs & Fri, my throat was really dry and I was having a difficult time swallowing (even though I drank at least 70 oz of water per day). By Saturday a.m., my throat, on the left side, was so sore and swollen. It was so sore Saturday night that I couldn't sleep. I went to a care center yesterday to see if they could culture me for strep. I remember having strep a few years ago, and it wasn't half as painful as this is. The quick test came back negative, so they sent it in to let it sit for a few days and see if it comes back positive. I should know something in a few days. It is still extremely painful today, and even sore to the touch on the outside of my neck. If it is not strep, I have no idea what it can be. I hope it clears up soon because it is really painful.
So needless to say...I won't be getting to the gym today, and am not sure when I will be going this week. I got four days in last week though.
We got some rain Saturday night; it was so refreshing. It is only supposed to be in the mid 70's today. It would be nice to get out and enjoy it.
Tech: It sounds like the weather is wacky all over. I'm glad you are all enjoying Junior. He sounds like a lot of fun.
Monet: This plumbing ordeal is turning out to be quite the ordeal, huh? I'm glad you got a good night's sleep; I wish I could say the same.
Cindy: The Firm is a great workout; I am sure you will enjoy it. Be prepared to be a little sore (ha).
Fillise: So sorry to hear about your Aunt. My prayers go out for you and your dear mom. Have a safe trip, and we look forward to your return home.
Jack: You don't have a Trader Joes near you, do you? They have a multi-grain pita chip that is legal, and they are delicious! I love them. They have a bunch of crushed grains in them. I hope your weather warms up soon.
Gator: You usually do so well with your eating. The weekend was a special occasion, and you can now jump back on the wagon, and move on.
Well, the kids are fighting already, so I gotta run!
Take care,
Nat

Howdy everyone. Tail dragging here this morning. My little old boston terrier kept me awake last night, so I'm slow moving. But sure I pep back up in awhile. I didn't have breakfast this morning cause I was asleep in the chair so think I'll make it for Steve when he comes home for lunch for a change maybe. Its cool here. I covered up my tomatoes again last night but the tops got nipped anyway. May have to go find more of the stripey ones I like. Sure messed up my beautiful wisteria tree. No more beautiful purple blossoms. Gee what should I lay out for dinner. We had grilled steaks and a big green salad last night. I'll have to go raid the freezer.
Pancho- I hope Britt is feeling better today. And you too. I just got over a the worst sore throat I've had in years a few weeks ago. I thought I had strep to but didn't. May you heal fast....
tech- your dog sounds so cute. I used to always want a dog like that. But never did get one. Now I'm to old to do the puppy thing so my dogs are older. We have a boston terrier and a blue heeler. And they're plenty! Along with our big white cat "stinky".
Monet- What is red stripe? I've been toying with the idea to make a nice ww pizza. Maybe that can be on my menu this week. You sound your usual busy. Wish I was with you when you go food shopping. Its so boring here with out the choices of the big stores...
Gatorgal- Oh my gosh the lobster sounds so good. Now thats my idea of a birthday dinner. Yummy. Sounds like your DH had more of a birthday week end...
Oh sorry everyone I didn't get to finish here. Its time for me to run...

Good afternoon...
Sorry for MIA and I do have a lot to catch up. I will not be able to catch up today as dh is off and we might move Jess out of her room (which is next to our room) and move her into another room on the other side of the house. The reason is that we want to give her room to the baby and Jess is so excited to move to a new room. I am sure going to miss her being so close to my room but it is the best arrangement for us. When the baby is old enough, I will move "him" to the other side of the house (next to Jess's new room) so they can be together and mommy and daddy gets more privacy...lol. Okay, we are having a "BOY" and that is 100% according to the ultrasound technician as we saw his "private" part sticked out like a sore thumb...LOL. The technician joked that the baby must be very proud of his "part"...lol. I am still shocked and feel a little sad to part with Jess's old clothes as I have to give them away. 2 kids are just enough for us....if God agrees that's...lol. I had such a great time at the ultrasound and dr's appointment on last Friday as everything looked good and the baby is healthy and strong. We even saw him yawned, put his fingers in his mouth, kicked etc etc.
This week will be a busy week for me. I have to do a lot of cooking outside of my normal cooking at home. I don't know how Monet does it but just thinking about it tired me out....lol. Today I am making some meals for my girlfriend who gave birth to her daughter over a week ago. Her in-laws are gone and her husband had to go back to work so I know she could use some help, especially with nutritious meals. I am making lasagna, beef stew with lots of hearty veggies, egg noodles and her fav chinese rice porridge (pork and veggies).
This Thursday Jess will turn 4 but we are celebrating her birthday on Sunday with few friends and their families. I am thinking of making a kid friendly menu which is also suitable for adults. Jess's fav meal is spaghetti and meatball so I want to make that on her birthday but instead of regular spaghetti and meatballs, I will make a more upscale version of that which will be suitable for adults and kids will love as well. I planned to make "Pasta Putanesca", sweet and sour meatballs in the crockpot, chicken nugget (homemade), a mixed green salad, fruit salad and maybe garlic bread. I am thinking of few munchies like popcorn and spinach and artichoke dip with pita bread. On Friday, we will have 3 couples from church for dinner (it's our turn to host dinner). I will be making simple asian food on that day. My groceries bill will be very high this week...lol. Oh well...it could be worst.
It's time to go as dh is home. Will check in again later. Have a good day everyone!

Real real quickie...have ya missed me?
I am just checking in...and gotta tell ya...we have decided to get a Scottish Terrier puppy! Now, I just need to find a breeder in Ohio. I would prefer to drive to the place and pick her out. We have already come up with a name..Charlotte..but, need to find the pup! I want to wait until after DDs surgery. If anyone knows about how to get a Scottie puppy in Ohio, let me know...it has been hard finding one...been looking around. By the way, I was raised with Scotties..so, I know the temperment and love the dogs...but, since I was married, we didn't have any pets, now we have a cat (under 1 yr old..will be a year in July) and think this is the best time to add a dog!
Also, going to really crack down on my WOE ! I think I feel fluffy..so, need to firm that up!
Will check back later ladies..missed you all so much!

Sarah: I think my DH found our puppy on puppyfinder.com or something like that. You can search our breeders all over. Too bad you're not looking for one like mine...our breeder was in Cincinnatti...and my hubby went to pick him up from Northern New York...from our door on Mapquest to her's was 610 miles!! Good luck searching!!
Julia: Wow!! It's a BOY!! How exciting!! I have a girl and a younger boy as well. Kinda like on the Lizzie McGuire show, which my daughter loves!! It's cool. Watch how he has access to girlie toys like Barbie's and shuns them for the boy toys like trucks. I always thought that was amazing how they seem to know what toys are for the right gender. I just loved having ultrasounds with my babies. I had one when my son was only a month and a half along or so. My friend said to tell them I wasn't sure if my last period was a period because it was very light (I lied) so that they would give me an ultrasound to see if I'm further along than I was...it was so cool. All you could see was a little circle with a pulsing swirl...the very beginings of life!! Sometimes I speculate on that little swirl as I'm watching my son bomb around the backyard on his powerwheels four-wheeler and then as he finds a tube and play acts that he's a superhero or a jedi. Life is so amazing!! BUT, when we had our later ultrasound, we said we didn't want to know the sex, then later I was soooo hugely pregnant and had a few months to go, so they wanted to check to be sure I didn't have two buns in the oven  (the mere thought still exhausts me!!) and the technician said that she knew 100% the sex if we wanted to know...so I said, 'show us the 'area' and let me guess'...so I was looking for the two lumps or the little finger and I saw a round mass...I'm like.."I don't get it"..so she wrote S...C....R....O....T...U....M and I'm like ..."Oooooohhhh..." and then..."It's a BOY!!!" Duh!! I loved knowing the sex of both my kids before hand...it really helped me to attach a projective thought process while I was waiting...you know, imagining the scene in five years...with one in Kindergarden adn one in Junior High (where we will be next year)...ten years...when DD is going on a date and her pain in the rump little brother is spying on her. I'm going to be so glad to have my little snitch to keep me up to date on her goings on!! :lol3: Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!! Are you plannign any more after this one? Not that now's the time to be thinking about that...get through this one first!!
Toni: :dunno: I don't know what's up with this crazy cold snap...but I certainly hope it exits soon!!

[b]AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!!
Well, BOB is home...made it until 10:30 a.m. and then my shoulder, arm and hand went numb and my boss sent me home.
I've called the Pain Doc to see if there is any way to work me in on Wednesday to get my injections started on the left side. Once I go numbe, I can't do anything productive at work. I'm left handed, so that takes care of that!
Can't stay on here, I'm typing one handed and it has taken me a while now.
I'll talk to y'all later...
SUSAN..so sorry about your Mom's Sister..I just hope that She can have a good time on your trip. Something like this tends to throw a tailspin in things!
You'll just have to keep her busy!

My goodness, you all have been chatting away this afternoon.
I forgot to post my meals today:
bf, SBeach cereal with strawberries, splenda, skim millk.
Snack: handful of peanuts, 6 small slices of cheddar cheese.
Lunch: Chicken salad on 1 pc of lc Ww bread, apple
Dinner: Rigatoni and a salad.
Country, I didn't know we can't have refried beans???
Sebray, I agree with Country, I always get the taco salad at Taco Bell and leave the shell.
BOb, when a saw a post from you in the middle of the day, I knew somehing was wrong. Hope your arm gets better and you can get in sooner to start those injections.
Ken, A Boy! how exciting. Now you will have one of each. I always said God gives you what you can handle. He knew I could not handle boys so I got 2 girls. Which was alright by me. Sounds like you will be cooking like Monet this week. Sounds yummy.
Sarah, welcome back. we did miss you. Have you checked you paper for a puppy?
Nat, so sorry to hear Britt has a bug and you too. Nothing worse than a sore throat. Hope you both are feeling better soon. No, we don't have a Trader Joes here.
Tech, I don't think kids have the stamina like we did. I blame it on too much TV watching. Hope DD is not coming down with something.
Monet, If you put you and Gator together, watch out. That would be some meal.
Gator, S**t happens. Birthdays only come once a year and sometimes you have to splurge. It all sounds so wonderful. You can get back on track this week.
Toni, Hope you enjoyed your late breakfast. We used to do that a lot when I lived at home. The nasty weather has really knocked off all the pretty blooms already.
Have a great evening.

Howdy! Today is lazy day so I am sitting here being that...lazy..LOL Great challenges this week Monet. The best thing I am good at is cooking. My cajun and southern heritage makes for some good eats. The next best thing would probably be graphics. There is nothing I enjoy more than sitting here at my computer and making stationery or tags for friends. I'm not great at animations but they are coming along. :)
Julia...CONGRATULATIONS!!! How exciting. Sounds like you are going to be cooking up some delicious goodies this week. Praying you find some good bargins at the store.
Bob...I didn't realize you were a lefty also. We probably talked about it before but I'm forgetful. :) I hope you get feeling back in your arm soon.
Monet...I think you are right. If you brought in a dog you would have a mutiny on your hands...LOL
Poncho..sorry you and your little one are feeling under the weather. Hope you both are back up and running in no time.
Toni...have you had the stripey tomatoes before? We only got one this year to give it a try. I'm pretty sure it's already blooming.
Tech...aren't puppies so much fun. Our hound is a toot when it comes to walking her. She is 7 months old almost 80 pounds and puts her nose to the ground the second she hits outside...you'd better be ready to run..LOL We train her by hiding in the woods. We have three other dogs and she is about to drive them crazy. She doesn't realize how big she is.
Sarah...hope you find just the right scottie. I'm having a fluffy day as well so I am hiding in my baggy clothes. :)
Jack-K...I think all scales are mean on Mondays. Mine were up this morning also.
Susan..I'm so sorry about your Aunt. Praying for you and your mama as you travel to N.C. and also prepare for your upcoming trip.
Cindy..I've heard the firm tapes are really good. You'll have to let us know how you like them.
Gator...sounds like most of your food was legal. I bet you'll still get to goal soon.
Arcayne, Heart.....((hugzz))
It looks like the sun might be peeking out a little so I think I'll try to sneak a walk in before we get some more rain.
Hope you all have a SUPER week! Remember if you slip off plan just get up..dust off and climb right back on the wagon.
Love and hugs,
Crystle

Just a crawl by...I have been gone all morning, and afternoon. We went and purchased stuff, then went to the church and put it all out on trays, covered it and put it in the fridge to be used M-Th nights. While we were out we grabbed a sub sandwich from Publix for lunch. I am SO sleepy right now, and I really ought to be working. There is tons that needs to be done.
TONI: Red Stripe is a Jamaican beer. Goes pretty good with pizza.
I am going to have to do replies later...I am zoning out here. :)

my best talent/trait is the fact that i look at things from every angle....i dont just look at the who or where, but i always want to know the 'why' and 'what ifs'....although this drives kevin insanely batty lol
my mini goal for this week is to not wait until the last min to finish my study guides for my finals...i will have them all done (or 90% done) by sunday!! and i will reward myself with a back massage from kevin (do u suppose i should tell him about that first? )
Fillise: very sorry to hear about your aunt...i hope your mother gets through this ok.
Keng: im sooo happy to hear that the baby is healthy!!! and a boy too!!! yay!!!! so many moms want to have a boy and a girl so they get one of each ...though i swore i only wanted boys, cause im sooo NOT a girly kinda mom lol oh and lay me out a plate for Jess' bday party...im coming for the food!!!! :D
Tech: its funny what you said about boys going for the 'gender specific' toys...my oldest was definatly like that but the baby (he'll be 5 soon but still my little baby boy lol) acctually picks out girl toys at the store...just recently he bought himself a 'purse' (which was a pink cosmetic bag that had a picture of a sleeping kitty on it) and a surfer barbie doll....i personally dont mind cause i think it will help make him a more sensitive man, but kevin tried to bribe him last time with more money if he picked out something else....we do get a kick out of it though....he also has a baby doll that he feeds a bottle to and changes her diaper :) he is so adorable
been a long day at school and i have to get ready to go take a makeup exam....got my teaching portfolio back today and got 147/150 on it!! missed 2 points cause instead of putting the instructer's name and the class name on it i put my address and phone number....man was i spaced out lol....when i get home tonight ill post this weeks meditation...i think it has something to do with 'letting go' but im not too sure cuase i dont have the book with me...sorry about not posting it earlier today but i was too rushed this morning (i acctually missed my morning class :o )
hope everyone has a great day

Hey Kids!
Yeah….I’m back!! I had a great on plan day today. Now, I need to have 3 months of good on plan days. I have been a really bad girl again. No excuses – I just don’t have any will power and I can’t do it!! So, I’m going to do my one day at a time yet again!
I hope that all of you have been doing well – I’ve missed you all! I’m going to try to catch up on posts. I look forward to being back on the board.
MONET: I would just like to get 1 day of exercise this week!! I don’t know about an EXTRA day. HAH! As for my best talent or trait – I guess I’d have to say that I draw really well. I love to draw I just don’t have the time to do it. We are getting a Sam’s here – I can’t wait. When we want to shop there now we have to go to New Orleans. It’s so crowded there – I can’t stand it! What a coincidence that I show up on the day that you are paging me!!! Thanks for missing me….I missed you too!
TECH: Rain and SNOW? Still? We have been having BEAUTIFUL weather lately! No clouds, 70s – gorgeous! Hopefully yours won’t last too long! So, you got a new dog? What kind is it?
CINDY: I’m like you with the crafts. I’m good at it and I love doing it – just no time!!! It’s such a chore to take all that stuff out just to work on it for a little while and then have to pick all that stuff up!!
FILLISE: I’m so sorry to hear about your aunt. Your poor mom must be heartbroken. Prayers are going your way for you and your family. Have a safe trip.
JACK-K: HEY!!!! Sounds like you are doing really well over there! You must be feeling somewhat better these days. I hear ya on the chips at the Mexican rest. They are a killer – I can eat a ton of those buggars!! I look forward to catching up with you!
GATOR: Hey lady!! I know that you must be a good cook! Half of the stuff that you say you cook I’ve never even heard of!! HA! As for the gardening….why don’t you head over here and get mine up and running!! J
PANCHO: Sounds like your little one has the same crud that is going around my classroom. I have had kids out sick a lot lately. One missed the entire week last week. 2 days last week I had 10 out of my 26 out! So, tis the season!! Have you had Mono? Did they check you for that? Hope y’all are all feeling better soon!
TONI: Those grilled steaks sound yummy! We may have to do that soon ourselves!!
KENG: Glad to read that everything is still going well with the pregnancy. How far along are you now? I know you are excited. I’m glad that this one is a boy – now you will have one of each!
SARAH: Hey! I don’t know you – I’ve been on the board since 2000 – I’m the on again off again member! And….I NEVER stick to plan! I just come here to visit and TRY to stay on plan! HA! I look forward to getting to know you!!! You can just call me the Yo-Yo!
BOB: What in the ****?!?!?! What’s going on with you lady? I heard your Rocky Top song on the Dukes of Hazzard today! Terry watches that show every night and when I heard the song come on I thought of you – of course!! Sorry about your body – get some rest and take care of yourself!!
COUNTRY: What CAJUN heritage do you have? I didn’t realize that you were a Cajun at heart?!
SEBRAY: So you are in school to be a teacher? Or – are you working on your masters? I have a college student that comes to my class every semester and I love it! They bring the “latest trends” into the room and keep me updated. I’m going to start working on my masters in Admin./Supervision. I’m not sure that I want to be a “boss” but if I ever get out of the classroom I have something to fall back on!
Well, I need to update my ticker to add some pounds but hopefully soon I’ll take them off again! I’ll see y’all later!

Welcome back Missy! It's so good to see you. You will have 3 months under your belt before you know it. My mama was born in Lake Charles and her people are scattered all over La. My grandparents spoke french but never taught the kids so they could have private conversations...LOL One of the things I miss most is boudin. We used to get it at a place called Kormea's (not that I can spell it...LOL) We finally found a good brand in Texas that wasn't all gummy and I went and gave up white rice...LOL One year a LONG time ago we actually made some ourselves.
Love and hugs,

FRUIT!!! So good to see you! You CAN do this! Quit telling yourself you can't! :)
TO everyone else, I have restless legs right now, I am SO tired, and my heel is cracked and hurts like the devil. I am going to take a shower, in James' bathroom again, sigh, find a good book to read, and crawl in bed.
Night!

Missy: yes im majoring in special education....i honestly cant wait :)
Monet: your new mantra is this: 'my shower will be fixed soon and i will have hot water!!' say it enough and it might happen sooner then you expect :)
ok that said...im sooo exhuasted, my keyboard was acting stupid and didnt want to work....freaked me out, i had to turn in an assignment and i couldnt because of that!!! I acctually ate pretty bad today (no surprise there lol) it wasnt what i put in my mouth that was bad, it was that i didnt eat enough and it caused me to go into starvation mode this evening after class and i ended up buying 2 donuts from the grocery store....i almost bought a mountain dew as well but quickly grabbed a pepsi instead.....that way i wouldnt drink it all (i dont like pepsi so i only took a couple of sips of it lol)
i had a very stressful day so im going to bed now....good night ladies :)

I almost forgot to post this week's meditation!! :o shame on me!
CRITICISM - POSITIVISM
They never raised a statue to a critic. ~Martha Graham
Criticism and analysis are still seen as sophisticated and scientific, we do have other choices though. For example we can vaccinate ourselves against their contagion with positivism. We can silence our inner critic. Being critical rarely results in improvement. It usually results in anger and distrust. We can catch ourselves in the act of being critical and take another tack. We can accept flaws and what needs to be changed while shifting our focus to positives and goodness.
Be grateful for what you have, for what you have received and for what you have learned and being positive can become a habit! When we replace the negative with the positive, subtle and significant shifts begin to occur, like huge fissures in a glacier.
Try noticing your inner critic, silencing it, and replacing it with something positive and see what happens.
There was a lot more to that passage, but i have the sinking feeling that if i put more, no one would read it ;) so i just pulled out what would pertain to us as we lose weight and try to stay on program.
I know many times I am very critical of myself. if i dont eat the right thing, lose enough weight, outgrow my 'fat' jeans....its an endless cycle and if we arent smacked on the head and pushed back on the right path it can be very dangerous for us, both mentally and physically. I'd like everyone to think about this meditation and the next time you are critical of yourself, for whatever reason, think of 10 good things about yourself. when we mistreat ourselves emotionally, it shows up physically. lets be good to our minds and bodies and start thinking positive!!

Another good night's sleep for the Monet... I could get used to this! And I did not even have a drink last night! Wow!
I have some errands to run this morning, so heres to hoping James doesn't waste my morning...he was actually acting responsible last night and asked for a schedule for the week so he could know when he had to be up each day. He did not get in to work until late yesterday, because I did not wake him up...he complained that I nagged him, so I did not wake him!...and he had to call someone for a ride because Laura left him! I told him no later than 9:30 this morning, so we shall see if he complies!
Today is Tuesday...its supposed to be Tip day.. Cindy posted a link to an article on another board that is really good. Its about food allergies and not being able to lose weight. I am going to post the link to it here:
SEBRAY: Thanks for posting the meditation. Its a good one! I appreciate your finding a good one for us. Silencing the inner critic is a good topic for those of us who struggle a lot at losing.
FRUIT: OK, one day of exercise is a good start for you! Get out and take a walk in that beautiful weather you have! Start small, and build up. You will feel better once you get in some regular exercise. And you are SO worth it, so don't put yourself down, or BOB is going to load up the wagon with a bunch of us and we are going to come 'visit' you! :s:
COUNTRY: Cajun huh? I admire you even more for all the weight you have lost while being tempted with Cajun food. Oh my, its some good eating! :) Would you like to make us a new graphic for the start post for the week? The one that is on it is old, and frankly, I am tired of it! I would love something new.
JACK: Was it you that tried the South Beach pizzas? I bought two yesterday with the intention of trying them. They were on sale, but still a bit pricey. (2 for $5)
BOB: Bob, Bob, what ever are we going to do with you? I am SO sorry you are having more pain and trouble. Looks like I am going to have to come down there, and cook for you if you have surgery.
TECH: Did you make potholders with a loom and loops when you were a kid? I love crafts, too. My degree is Pottery, but its so hard to work in that right now. Maybe someday I will get back to it. I have a wheel, but only pull it out to play with, and have not done any serious throwing for a long time. I got a new kiln a few years ago, bought it from a friend, and I still don't have it hooked up yet! :( How is your weather doing?
SARAH: Oh COURSE we miss you when you are MIA. Don't get lost, ok? A Scottie! How fun! I hope you can find the perfect pup! How fun that you already have a name chosen! I tend to look at the animal and see what name strikes me. Of course, I did NOT do that with my kids!
KENG: Congratulations on the boy! Do you have a name picked out? My son was an easy baby and very easy going child. He is stubborn, and manipulative in ways, but when he was little, he was so much fun, and eager to please. I enjoyed having boys around more than girls, because I am not very prissy, and my girls were awful! I hope your little man is as much fun as Jess has been, and not a little terror like boys CAN be...though honestly, they are so much more open about stuff than girls. If they break something, they more often than not will fess up. A girl might try to hide the evidence! :)
TONI: I wish you could go with me grocery shopping too! I LOVE to go to the grocery store. I make the rounds of three or four farmer's market type places in addition to the Publix stores near me. Unfortunately, I spend WAY too much on groceries. I am sorry you lost tomato plants! I have 12 more plants Tom got me over the weekend to get planted. It is very overcast and looks like rain, so I don't think I will be planting today.
CINDY: I read that article you posted on LCC. Interesting stuff! I wonder if that is some of my problem. I mean, how many years of no weight loss and struggle can I blame on being peri-menopausal? :) I am wondering if wheat and dairy are culprits...it is SO hard to get off the two of them and stay off them! How is the weather up there in Hoosier land?
I think that is it for me. I need to go eat something for breakfast...
Ellen
04-26-2005, 10:47 AM
Breakfast: Three eggs, over easy. Granola with almond milk.
Its almost ten, and James is just now getting in the shower...grrr. I woke him up an hour ago!
I went to the store last night, and got deli ham. I must have forgotten to put it away, and one of the cats found it, and chewed a hole in the corner of the bag last night. Some one found it and put it in the fridge for me...sigh. How dirty is a cats mouth? I mean, we are talking $11 worth of ham here! Maybe I will serve it to the cat owner who's cats certainly were the culprit. :s:

Sebray--thanks for the excerpt of the article on criticism. Great stuff! Re. that, you don't think your handle of "wishy washy wanna be" is self criticism, do you? With your goal of getting that degree, I don't see you as wishy washy. :)
Monet, what would happen if you let your son, who is now an adult, take responsibility for his life, and you let him be responsible for getting himself up without having someone else "get him up?" If he used an alarm clock, or whatever, and still chose to sleep in, after a few times of negative results, he might take charge of himself in that area. Right now, he can still lay part of the "blame" on you, because you didn't get him up "early" enough for him to get a few extra minutes of shut-eye. Just a thought.
Speaking of responsibility, I didn't take the responsibility of resisting the wonderful rich and moist chocolate cake that an old receptionist brought my DH for his birthday. She bakes a cake for her favorite people every year, and my DH falls into that category. She brought it in to the office yesterday and he brought it home last night. Actually, we met with another couple at a Taiwanese restaurant for a quick supper before a class that all of us take. The men go to a men's class and the women to a women's. The restaurant let him bring in his birthday cake and we all had a piece for dessert after a Thai meal. Today that cake has left this house and will tempt some people at a meeting my DH is attending this afternoon.
Fruit--It's so good to see you back on here. keep strong, girl. You can do it. BTW, we are coming to NO for a few days for the UF/LSU game. We will be taking a Gator bus up to Red Stick for the game. Hope it's a night game. Do you live near there? Maybe we could meet at the game. You could have a tailgate and feed us good ole "Looziana" vittles. Monet, I'd love to get up to Atlanta, but it's up to the Gators to get back to the SECC game. We usually stay at the Lamplighter inn in Virginia- Highlands.
Well, got lots to do today. Laundry is already on. Bye.

Well, I am very tired. I am going on 2 hours of sleep; so excuse the typos. My DH convinced me to call my doctor last night, who then convinced me to go spend the evening in the ER. He thought I might have an abscess on one side of my throat that would need immediate attention. My neck on the left side is swollen and sore to the touch (on the outside). My ear and head were hurting, and I had a fever and chillls. I still can't even swallow water without feeling like I am swallowing a razor blade. I drove myself there so we didn't have to drag the kids out of bed. I got there around 11 p.m., and didn't get home until around 4 a.m. They did not find an abscess (thank heavens because they would have had to operate). They think I just have a very stubborn infection that needs immediate attention. The doctor got me started on antibiotics, and even gave me a pain killer (both liquid because I can't swallow solids right now). I took a dose of both when I got home, but still feel rotten right now. I am not one to take pain medications at all, but I am so desperate for some relief that I will take some before bed at night until I feel better. How long does it usually take for antibiotics to start working?
I pray Lane takes a good nap today, so I can take one too.
I won't be working out at all this week. I need to get better. I weighed 119.5# this morning. That's what happens when your meals are liquid. I don't think we have any chicken noodle soup for lunch; have no idea what to have. I have been sipping on green tea and chamomile tea a lot; the warm tea feels pretty good on the throat. I made a protein smoothie for BF with a banana, mixed berries, water, soy milk and protein powder; that even hurt to drink.
I PRAY that no one else in my family gets this; I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. I feel like a whimp, but it is such a painful place to have such a bad infection. Gheez, I did better with my breast reduction then I have with this; it has practically brought me to tears a few times.
Alright, enough of my whining!!
Ken: CONGRATULATIONS on a healthy ultrasound. How fun to have a boy! Don't feel bad about not using Jess' old clothes. I had two girls and was not able to use a lot of them. Britt was born in Spring, and Lane in the Summer. Britt was always my skinny, tall girl, and Lane is my not-so-skinny tall girl, so they are shaped totally different and have to wear different types of clothing anyway. Aren't ultrasounds amazing? I think the 3-D ones are so neat, and will probably be mainstream by the time our kids are having kids; they will probably replace the regular one. Happy Birthday to little Jess; she and the baby are going to be about the same age apart as my girls (mine are 4 yrs, 4 mos apart). It's worked out better than I ever imagined. They play together so well, and Britt is such a sweet little nurterer/helper. She reads to her and has really helped with the potty training lately. Have fun with all that cooking.
Sarah: I think Scotties are so cute!! I'd love one, but always thought they weren't good with little ones. Maybe a few years down the road...we'll see. I hope you find a reputable breeder!
BOB: I sure hope you are able to get some relief soon. I love your diet tip!
Sebray: You did great on your portfolio. Don't you hate it when you miss points for doing something like that? You would have made 100% if you hadn't been running around like a chicken with its' head cut off. It's almost all over for awhile; enjoy the time off.
Fruit: I am very disappointed to hear those words out of your mouth. You were doing so well there for awhile, and I KNOW you can do it again! Tell yourself that you are worth it, and jump back on for the long run!!! I have not been tested for mono. I guess if I don't get better soon, that might be the next thing? Isn't that a blood test?
Monet: I'm glad you got a good night's sleep. I will have to read that article on food allergies; I am sure it will be interesting. Thanks for posting it.
Well, I gotta go lay down before I pass out.
Have a great OP day.

The kittens are running the Feline 500 for some reason.... I don't understand why they get so wild! They need to go outside, but its raining. One of them has lost her ID collar in the house, so we are reluctant to let her out until we find it.
Lunch was two brown rice cakes with a bit of mayo and ham, (trimmed and rebagged so no kitten bites were left on it) with sprouts.
I ran a few errands this morning and I am feeling very frustrated. I went to Michaels and Hobby Lobby and neither one had the easels I need. I know there is another show on the same date, but I can't believe they are using easels. Next place I need to check is up about 30 minutes from here, and I just don't have time to do it until probably Thursday. Its getting too close then. I am stuck at home now, since Laura has class, but hopefully, we can get her car back today and then things will be much better!
PANCHO: Please don't be a stoic with the pain meds. Research shows you heal faster if you are not in pain. I think the endorphins you release when in pain inhibit the healing enzymes or something. Its good not to take pain meds too much, but when you need them, you need them. I hope your infection starts to respond to the antibiodics soon. I find I usually start to feel better in 24 hours or less. Once I had strep so bad, and my regular doctor was out of town, so a friend of mine who is a doctor called me in an antibiodic. Since she did not know how I am with drugs, she called in like 100mg, and I usually need 500mg...so it took three or four days to feel better. I hope you don't have mono. If it doesn't get better, you might. They should have done a mono spot test when you were at the ER just to rule it out. I had it a few years ago, and it was the worst throat pain I have ever had. Nothing helped...and antibiodics are useless with mono. I am praying for a swift recovery for you!
GATOR: Yes, I agree that he needs to get himself up, etc. I did that yesterday and he WAS better this morning. I don't want him to lose his job until after he has the surgery he needs. He is an adult, but has suffered from depression in the past. (he is very sensitive and feeling for a guy, but don't tell him I said that) He had a terribly roommate situation, where his roommate really did some mind games on him and when he finally decided to move out, we let him move back home in hopes of bringing about some emotional healing. He needs unconditional love, but I think he has mended enough now to handle having responsiblity put back on him. He is tremendously talented, and intelligent. He seems to lack drive, or ambition though. I just keep praying he will come back to a relationship with God. That is what he really needs...
BOB: Keep me posted. We can work something out. I would not mind a working holiday to Sarasota!
SEBRAY: I am with Gator...I am glad you changed your title!

Okay...I typed this a few hours ago and then cable went out...Jack...I think you had something to do with it!! I went out back and played hide n seek with DS and DP (Dear Puppy) for an hour and we had a blast!! I definitely need to ditch the TV. Don't tell DS, but cable's back on...I just told him it's not on yet because I'm enjoying the quiet and watching him play with his Leap Pad instead.
Okay...here's the post, sorry if I missed anyone that posted in the last hour and a half...I'm glad I copied and pasted it into Word!!
Well, the weather is markedly warmer today than yesterday! It's 50 right now and I don't believe it ever got out of the lower 40's yesterday. And it ended up raining and windy and nasty! Bleh! Not good puppy training weather! But today it's only mildy overcast, still breezy, but at least not down right frigid! The rest of the week doesn't look real promising, either... :(
Junior's doing GREAT with training. Hardly any accidents anymore (Knock on wood!! ) Of course, it's still early and plenty of time for setbacks, but I'll take the good signs and run with them!! DD is feeling better today after a long nap after getting home early yesterday. She got a stroke of luck today, too, and I think I found the culprit of what's been making her feel bad. Actually, it turns out not to be a stroke of luck in the end, just prolonging the inevitable. She had an appointment to have FOUR teeth pulled today. They're all baby teeth and are loose, but she hates pulling out teeth and these are molars and that much more daunting, I guess...but her adult teeth have already poked through the gums sideways up top and will likely do the same on the bottom if we don't get them pulled. Its all covered on insurance, otherwise I'd be in there while she slept with a pair of pliers. Anyhow...the dentist's wife had a car accident (she's okay...just needs her hubby to take her to the doctor's) and they had to cancel his appointments for today...so we had to reschedule for next Tuesday...which gives her an extra week to pull them on her own. You know...I remembe when my baby teeth came out...the second I felt the slightest movement, I worked that puppy till it came out, bit down on some kleenex and went to bed early to let the tooth fairy get there as soon as possible so I could get my dollar! I don't know what's wrong with her! Anyhow...maybe she can work one or two out by then...or maybe I still will sneak in on her with the pliers while she's sleeping!!
Some menu listings for me:
Yesterday:
BF was a bunch of grapes, four strawberries, three sausage links and two slices of sourdough toast....coffee, coffee, and more coffee...
Lunch was two ham and swiss roll-ups (idea from Cindy - thanks!!), apple slices and more grapes
Dinner was sauteed scallops and a bunch of steamed broccoli
Today:
BF was a blueberry-orange smoothie and three sausage links
Lunch will be probably can of tuna with some grapes and probably an apple
Dinner will likely involve tilapia and some salad or something
I only have a snack if I'm hungry and then I have triscuits and some monterey cheese slices...and water
Drinking about 40 oz of water. Will try to do more water if I can remember. I definitely loose better with more water!!
Actual weight this am was 164. I know, it's not my low on my ticker, but you guys know all about fluctuating around a couple of pounds and I try to remind myself that I'm fluctuating on or below 165 and a couple weeks ago I couldn't get the scale to go below 165 unless I turned the dial to register below 0 before I got on the scale... ...no, I wasn't cheating, I just wanted to be sure the scale was capable of registering something below 165, then I fixed it to read properly.
Monet: I STILL make those potholders!! I have to get a better loom, though...I have a cheap plastic one and it always pops off just before you get it all taken off and then it gets ruined. I also love to do boondogle keychain holders. I would have the GSs make them, but we've moved on from potholders and are working on a quilt. I let them use my sewing machine for these projects....for some its the only exposure they've ever had to using it and they're a little intimidated by it, but at least they're getting hands-on exposure to using one. I have to sew the strips together and then put the back on and then next meeting we're going to put the batting in, sew the hole and put little ties in at all the intersections of the squares to hold it together...like a little quilting bee! Then the girl that sells the most cookies get to keep the quilt! :smug:
Sebray: Thanks for the inspirational!! Once this crazy college schedule of your's is over, you'll be able to get right back on track. And we'll be here waiting to pull you back on the wagon!! My next door neighbor's two oldest boys sound like your two boys...William is the oldest and it really into taking fake swords (sticks, etc) and swiping the weeds off the side of his house and being really boy-like...Robert, the younger of hte two, one time ran over to our house - on tip toes - to show my DD his new Ariel Barbie doll. His father (he's an officer in the army) has banned him permanently from the polly pocket and barbie websites, so he comes over here for his 'fix' with my DD. The funny thing was his mom had a baby last July and when he found out it was a girl, nobody was expecting her to be a her...but when I told Robert, "Now you have your very own little girl to dress up in fancy dresses and you can probably brush and braid her hair..." his eyes lit up and he got really excited. He's the only 9 year old boy I know that knows how to braid hair. His mom's convinced he's going to be gay, but I tell her my brother used to play barbie with me and my best friend...he was the best, we'd get the campers and tents all lined up and he'd get out the christmas lights and string them up like party lights from one to the other...he didn't turn out gay...he's an awesome husband and does laundry and dishes and sews for the school plays...he's cool!
Fruit: Welcome back on the wagon!! You can do it...like you said, one day at a time, Chicka! Before you know it, you'll have developed proper eating habits again and it won't be a struggle. Well, the forecast for yesterday called for snow, but it never happened...thank Gawd! Much better today...it's already 54 degrees!! Yes, I got a new puppy...his name is Junior and I'll post his picture again so you can see him without having ot go through last week's posts to find it. I'm just a little proud :smug: He's an Old English Sheepdog...he's 11 weeks old and weighs over 25 lbs already! :^:
Country: Although I'm still a little freaked out having a dog...did I mention he's my first puppy I've ever had :o Yeah, I think I mentioned that a few times...anyhow, he's awesome. I gave him his first bath last night. All was going well till he shook himself out :lol3:. We ALL got a bath!! Chalk one up for the archives!!
Jack: You're right...kids do get too much 'screen time', combining both the TV and the computer. Sometimes I'm so tempted to get rid of both the TV and the 'puter. A little extreme, but imagine how much more talking and interacting there would be going on!! I had a friend from England that I used to work with and I asked her if she saw a show on TV one night and she said she didn't have a TV...her husband and her didn't like to watch it. I was, at first, horrified, then I thought...how nice it would be!! Maybe someday...maybe this summer, I'll at least switch to basic, basic cable that doesn't have Nickelodeon, only PBS and local channels. Maybe we'll try it for the summer and see how that goes...other than that, with as long and cold as our winters are here, we'd all go totally insane without something on the tube, not being able to go outside. It would be a step in the right direction, though!! I also don't let the kids go on the internet except for Barbie and Polly Pocket websites. Othewise, it's things like JumpStart Typing or Clifford's Reading game or our Nancy Drew Mystery games (I mostly do those!! They're so fun!!). When DS plays on the Gamecube, I usually play with him or my DH plays racing games with him.
BOB: :grouphug: I can't imagine going day to day with the pain you're going through every day. I'm so sorry for you and I hope the doctor has some answers for you. Meantime, I'll be praying for you to have a painless day or two coming up that leads to less and less painful days...
Toni: Sorry you lost some tomatoes...and your puppies sound GREAT. I hope mine starts to get along with my cat...or the cat starts to get along with the dog...one way or the other...
Okay...I have to run...I think that's everyone...talk to you guys later!!

Oh...and here's the picture of Junior again that I promised Missy. And I found another picture of me from last summer...what I really look like (without make up). This is me (in the blond hair) and my best friend since 7th grade, Jackie. Oh, and my son on our lap. That's my river behind us...at my mom's house at the beach. I spent every summer of my teenage years (from 11 years old till I was working after high school) on that beach...I love it there!! By the way, this was me at my highest weight, 180-185...I used to be skinnier than Jackie once upon a time. But now I'm on my way to catch back up with her!! :smug:
Okay...gotta run...Kris
edit: Okay, now I actually have one of the pictures uploaded...working on one of Junior... :dizzy: Yay...I finally got the one of Junior on again...you know...in case anyone other than Missy missed it  Are you guys getting sick of Junior yet?? I just tossed him out in the backyard because he was barking at us with some pent-up energy, so now he's out chasing the birds and squirrels out of the bird feeders!!

Just a quickie..
I wish I had my own computer that I could actually spend some time on replies! I have to use my work computer or my parent's computer..and when I do that...they get mad cause "I am on the computer and the kids are causing a ruckus!"
One of these days hubby will agree that we need a computer (preferably a laptop..lol!) We don't need one now and we just have a "dinosaur" with dial-up that only I use for chatting...wonder where I do that??? haha!! And, it is in the basement...if I had a laptop, I could be upstairs with the kids..haha!!
Okay...talk to you all later..still looking for the puppy.
As for Scotties and kids..they are fine...completely fine...everyone has this false impression of Scotties being bad around kids..I was raised with Scotties and they never once even tried to nip at me. I was a bit of a "handful" kid too..and they were gentle! Scotties are getting the bad rap!
Oh, keep praying we find our little pup.
My DD is still in pain...trying to manage it...but it is killing me each time she cries!
Talk to you later,
Sarah

One more reply or two before I go get active. Actually, we had a blast in the backyard...you know, we were playing hide and seek and I hid under the slide on my DS and Junior hid under it with me! It's like he knew we were playing hide n seek and he was right on board hiding with me! I truly feel like I adopted a toddler!!
Nat: :hugs: I can't imagine what it is you got into with that throat, but I agree..as hard as it is as a mom to be sick, it's almost preferable to having your kids sick with it. I hope your trip to emergency turns out that they gave you a means to an end to this!! The show must go on, whether mommy's sick or not and it's a whole lot easier when she's not!! Been there, done it!!
Monet: Your kittens are so funny!! I love kittens so much and love when they play and they're all spastic!! I dare you to give them a ball of yarn!! Do they have a kitty condo? We used to make them all the time out of cardboard boxes, but I bet you could make one out of some 2x4's and some old carpet! And my heart goes out to you with your son. I hope he starts coming around not only for your sake, but mostly for his own sake!!
Sarah: Hope your DD starts feeling better soon...I must have missed a posting...why is she in pain? It's so hard to see our babies hurting...it's just the pits!! Hope it's over soon!!
Ellen

TECH: Kitty Condo? What for? They are having a blast exploring inside the walls! They keep climbing under the tub and stuff where Tom has everything all opened up to work on the pipes! The other night, one of them got brave and crawled through the hole from the upstairs bathroom into the laundry room, and then was locked in. Tom found her when he went in there to measure the pipe, sitting on the washing machine looking smug. :)

Just a fly by. I have a ton of work to do and we just got back from a Boy Scout Luncheon. It sucked.
Lunch was Fried chciekn, which was dark and very hard and dry, potatoe salad ( I had none), corn on the cob (I had none), baked beans, corn bread which was sweeter than cake and apple pie and pecan pie. Could there have been more starches??? I'm starving.
Just a couple quick replies.
Monet, no I have not seen the south beach pizzas. I have tried their cereal. I buy Amy's ww pizzas.
Missy, so glad to see you back on here. You CAN do this.
nat take care of yourself.
Bob, you too.
 to everyone else. I'll catch up tomorrow.

I am so far behind that I don't know where to start. Anyway, will do my best in catching up now that dh is back to work. Yesterday was a tedious day. I felt like I cooked all day. I am so happy that the food is finally out to my friend and her hubby. They really need all the help they can get at this time although I know she won't ask me for help unless there is no other way. I went to the grocery store to get some more food for Jess's class so that they can celebrate her birthday in class this Thursday. She will be so surprised as I am keeping everything a secret. She knows her birthday is coming but don't know when so I can't wait to see the smiles on her face. She would probably bounce off the wall when she finds out, that's how she is when she gets excited...lol. My little hyper kid...lol.
Today is such a wet day and I believe it will be raining all day long. I heard that tomorrow will be dry...it's about time :) Eating has been okay but not totally legal. I tried parsnip for the first time in beef stew and really surprised how sweet it is. My beef stew becomes sweet stew which I didn't like. I also had some pizza :)
As for Monet's question : I like cooking and the only time I am creative is when I cook. I love to cook for other people and share my love thru food. I also love to eat...and believe me eating is my talent. If you know me years ago, you will be so shocked that how a small petite girl like me can eat such enormous amount of food...LOL. I used to think about food right before I go to sleep...lol. Okay, I still do sometimes but it is much more in control now.
Some replies :
FILLISE : I am sorry to hear about your aunt. My condolences to you and your family. {{{hugs}}}
JACK : I know one of your many talents must be hard-working because you always seem to get so many things done at the same time. Oh, you are also very good in making wise choices :)
GATOR : Yummm....loved to hear your dh's birthday menu, sooo good!! I love..love tempura!
PANCHO : So sorry for what you are going thru. I pray and hope that you feel better soon. Whatever you have sounds nasty and I know being sicked is so hard especially when you have kids to take care of. I really enjoyed shopping for girls clothes (especially cute little dresses) so that makes me sad a little. The boy's clothes at the departmental store is just so boring...lol. I have so many of Jess's clothes in the basement and so many of them are soooo cute. I will be sad to part with them but I know my girlfriend (who recently had a girl) will be able to make good use of them. She will be all set for the next few years...LOL. Well....I am off to exploring the boys' world :)
SARAH : Hope you find the puppy you are looking for.
TECH : Jess is half girl and half boy...lol. She doesn't care for barbies and dolls instead she loves lego, cars , balls, puzzles etc. However, she has this very girlie side of her that absolutely loves beautiful dresses, her fav colors are pink and red and she loves the idea of being a princess and dressing up as one. I bought her a snow white constume last year for a constume birthday party she attended and since then she has been wearing the constume all the time, even in winter. The constume is all torn up now. She has this princess dance that she loves to show everyone and when she started to dance (with her snow white constume), it looks like she has gone nuts...LOL. If her baby brother is like her....well...I know I will have to work double, triple hard...LOL. I so agree that "life" is so amazing and being pregnant has certainly opened my eyes and understanding to how amazing our Lord is. I also understand how well my body is engineered, so well-thought out. 2 is the magic number for us although dh doesn't mind if we have another child though :) Glad to hear Junior is doing so well, looks like he is happy being with all of you :)
BOB : How are you today? Hope you are feeling better. {{{hugs}}} to you.
COUNTRY : I love southern food but haven't try too many cajun food but I am sure they are just as good if not better. What is your fav comfort cajun food :) My nextdoor neighbor said that she will make me some crawfish etouffee (sp?) one of these days. I can't wait!
SEBRAY : I grew up with 5 sisters so I am very comfortable being around girls. The men (dad, grandpa and great grandpa) all died earlier so our families consist of mostly girls until my sisters got married. Now that I am having a boy...it will take some mental preparation to get used to him....lol. You also need to take a make-up exam?? What courses are you taking? I probably need a make-up lesson, I am clueless when it comes to make-up.
FRUIT : So good to see you. Yes, one meal or day at a time. We are here to help you. We have missed you :) Yes, I am having a boy, I am still shocked and trying to grasp the reality...lol. I haven't been around too many boys so having a boy will need some mental preparation on my side. I am 5 months into my pregnancy now and I must say, this time around, things are so different and going much faster than my last pregnancy. Hope to see more of you here :)
MONET : Dh and I picked out a boy's name before Jess was born and we might use that if we cannot find any name that sounds better than Christopher...lol. Jess is sure not your typical girl. She can be quite manipulative and many times bite dh and I back because we didn't keep to our words or we forget that we said something. She is sooooo hyper, determined, curious that sometimes I thought I was going nuts!! If there is no God, I would have gone insane!! LOL. I love her personality so much but sometimes she just went over my head. I have had few complaints from her teacher already. Feline 500?? LOL. I can imagine how lively your house must be :)
TONI : How are you today?
HEART : Hello, how are you?
I think I am all catch up now and if I miss anyone, it is not my intention. Will check in again later.

ROFL i was just gonna read the posts and then work on a lab report for biology but Julia had me in a giggleing fit.....Im not sure if you knew what i ment when i said i had to take a make-up exam, but pls forgive me for not being clearer and i will try to explain it better....i missed the first exam we had in my history class (because of the car accident) and so i had to take it again, at a later date (yesterday) when you take an exam on a different date as the original exam its called a 'make-up' exam cause your making up the work you missed....
now that that is said, i am perfectly aware that you were probably just making a joke so forgive me for explaining it if you already knew what i was talking about...but i wanted to make sure you understood what i was talking about first....im always careful like that, plus, on the computer you cant really tell if someone is joking unless they inform you somehow...
well i know there are alot of replies and im sorry im not doing any atm but i have to do a quick report for my biology lab tonight....ill get to replies tomorrow, which means ill be more behind then lol
hope everyone who isnt feeling well feels better soon and that everyone gets good sleep.

Unfortunately, it can. Laura came home today and said MY car was acting up. Then it would not start when we went to leave to get her car. Tom got home and they left right away to get down to get her car from the shop....and it was going to be close on time! The man from the shop called me and I told him they were on their way. Thirty minutes later, he called and asked me if I had heard from them...he said they had called him to say Tom's truck was overheating and they had to stop to put coolant in it. He was worried as it had been a while. Well, they at least got home safe with both cars working, but mine started, but the battery won't hold a charge, and it may be the alternator. Great! AND in addition, James' car which won't start has been parked in front of the house and this afternoon, a police car pulled up behind it and the policeman was checking it out. Laura went out and flashed him her pretty smile and talked him out of ticketing the car, told him it needed a new starter, and her brother just couldn't pay for it right now. The policeman told her one of the neighbors had called and said it had been there for months...Laura told him just a week or two...SO, now we have to deal with that too. I can't understand why the neighbor did not come speak to me about it. :stress:
So, the whole family was rather wound up tonight, and everyone seems to be snapping at each other. I feel like I accomplished NOTHING today, and if the car needs a new alternator, I will probably not accomplish anything tomorrow either.
I hope everyone else is doing better than me! :dunno:
Later!

Hello my friends!!
I hope you all had a wonderful day. I did I guess – it’s just time for the school year to end. I’m counting down the days. I haven’t been feeling too good in the afternoons – not sure what’s up. I did a pregnancy test today because I am late but it was negative. I think I ovulated late this month so I wouldn’t start until Sunday or Monday I think. By counting days – day 28 was last Thursday. So, we shall see……
Let me catch up with you ladies:
COUNTRY: Terry’s family – many of them – still speak a lot of French and it drives me nuts!! I just know they are talking about me! I can understand a lot of it but I don’t speak it that well. I know that we use a lot of “French sayings” but to say that I speak it – no. I’m not a big fan of Boudin but my sister and dad LOVE it!
MONET: I’ve been having that trouble with my heels too! I can’t stand it!!! I’ve been trying to shave the skin so that I don’t have that much dry stuff to crack!! But when it cracks down to the meat it sure is painful! Hope you feel better soon! Don’t you be bringing BOB down here with that wagon – she’s gonna have ROCKY TOP blaring and I don’t know if I could handle that! HAHAH!
SEBRAY: Best of luck with the rest of school. You will enjoy it – it is a great job. Right now is tough though – knowing the end of the year is just around the corner makes the kids a little crazy!
GATOR: I’m only about an hour from BR. So we could definitely meet! We don’t have our tickets anymore so, as for tailgating before the game – we will have to see. I’ll have to try to get some tickets. Remind me when it’s getting closer.
BOB: I hope you are back to feeling like your old self again soon!! Take care!
PANCHO: Gosh girl…that infection sounds like a doozie! I can only imagine the pain. I’ve had a breast reduction and I KNOW what that felt like – if this is worse – OH MY!! Hopefully you get some relief soon! Mono is a blood test I believe. I had it in the tenth grade so I don’t really remember. Just keep and eye on it! Take care!
TECH: Your puppy sounds delightful! I love the pictures!!! Too cute! That beach is beautiful! What a great place to grow up. Sorry to hear your DD has to have so many teeth pulled! That stinks! But, if relief is in the future – do it! My niece – years ago – was going to have to have a tooth pulled. Needless to say she wasn’t excited about it so she pulled it herself. When she got to the dentist – she had pulled the wrong tooth! HA! I still love that story!
JACK-K: I know I can always count on you to tell it like it really is! I loved the comment about the Boy Scout luncheon!! You are the best!
KENG: Your little girl will be so excited when you show up with all of that stuff at school! They are so funny when their parents are there and there is a special celebration just for them! Enjoy!!
Well, I guess I’ll go for now….see you tomorrow!

Well, I think I missed posting yesterday. I had the most horrific headache yesterday. It just got worse and worse as the day wore on. Glad I was off work. I felt much better when I got up this morning. I go back to work tomorrow and today I pretty much stayed at home because it was just so miserable out. I got some great cooking done though today and some household chores. So It wasnt a wasted day.
Monet- That was an interesting article. It really got me thinking about any foods that I crave. There are also some articles on the coconut oil posted there you might want to check out. I was reading quite a bit on it and one of its many postive properties is to help thyroid function ( besides a ton of other things) The only problem is to take 4 tlb a day it really ups the fat % for your daily intake. So Im trying to figure out how to keep incorporating it.
Pancho- (((hugs))) get better soon !
I havnt posted menus in a few days so Ill start back up here
b- 1/4 ww bagel with 1/2 oz LF creamcheese,3 bacon,2tbl coconut oil
s- 2 radishs
l- 2 oz turkey meat, 2 slices of hard salami
s- small slice of the almond flour pound cake
d- mainated pork kabobs with red pepper slices, grape tomatoes and fresh pineapple, romaine/spinach salad with dice pepper, sliced radishes, diced tomato, sprinkle of feta and oil & vinegar dressing, 2 tbl coconut oil
des- med slice of almond flour pound cake, 1/2 cup strawberries and a dollop of lite whipped cream
s- 4 radishs

Hey everyone---
Sorry I don't have much time, I am beat and going to bed. Spent all day Thursday and Friday in town for Dr appointments, and am going back in tomorrow. I had another one of my dizzy spells and hit the floor again so went in for that and to have the lump on the back of my upper arm checked again. As for the dizzy spells, they have got me wearing a "King of Hearts" which is a monitor that will record my heart activity when I have a "spell" and hit the record button. But as infrequent as I have them, I probably won't have one for another few months!
Tomorrow I am meeting with a surgeon to talk about removing the lump I have. Dr Anderson said what it was, and it is not cancerous, but is starting to interfer with my exercise and I have pain when I do exercise that arm. So I will let you know what I find out tomorrow.
Spent 8 1/2 hours Sunday painting for a friend of ours. He was a tree climber and fell 52 feet out of a tree a few years ago. He has got Titanium wrapped around his spine now and can't stand on a ladder for any amount of time. He was going to hire someone to do the trim on his house, and he looked at what I had done on our house and asked me if I would do it. Sure......I made $85.00.
I am also planning a birthday party for my oldest son, Brant......he will be 30 next Monday. Boy, does that make me feel old. Picture cake is ordered with one of his bullriding pictures. We will just grill hamburgers and german sausage. Everyone is bringing a side dish so that will be easy. We are going to do this in Mom's shop as the weather is not looking too good.
Been gorgeous the last two days and I have been a very busy beaver......cleaning out my beds and getting them in shape. Supposed to turn nasty tomorrow so I won't be back out for a few days. But my progress is notable, and there is alot less to do.
Eating has been good. I am keeping so busy that not eating my lunch has happened a couple of times. Then I have to really try not to over eat at dinner.....but everything has been legal!!
Hope to get the post read and get in some replies as soon as we get back from town.....see you all then.

OH....MY.....GAWD!!!! IT'S 2 A.M. AND I'M STILL UP BECAUSE I CANT GET COMFORTABLE!
I don't see how I can go to work and stay to get my work done! I'm debating as I sit here.....calling the boss for another day! I called the pain ctr and they don't even have me on the schedule!
I 'm thinking about calling my medical doc and see if he will take off work so I can at least get paid by using my bank B.
NAT..I had what you have now...it's not fun and hard to get rid of...take it easy and get some rest....!
Sorry everyone..gotta try to get some sleep....Kate says to go to the living room and get in the recliner....MONET...did it after her surgery.....I NEED SOME RELIEF!!!!!

Good Morning! Its Wednesday..as in Weigh In Wednesday. I hope the scale is good to everyone.
That said, I am going to be honest. The scale is up 4 pounds since last WIW for me, and I am NOT a happy camper this morning. I am under the pile, with more to do than I can get done. I am trying to come up with a schedule of volunteers for Saturday's art festival, and I am a minimum of 8 volunteers short. My car is out of commission, as Tom took the alternator and battery out to take them to be checked. Laura is supposed to do that after class today, but she was still up talking with some boy she works with when Tom got up this morning at 6. I have a feeling its going to be tough getting up for her this morning....
So, I will take my whininess off.
CINDY: I tried coconut oil for thyroid...I don't know what it is but it makes me throw up! I was disappointed, because I had hoped it would help.
BOB: I hope the recliner worked for you...sure did the trick for me!
FRUIT: Try pure lanolin for your heel. I rubbed some on the other night, then put on socks and wore then to bed. The next morning they were vastly improved! Should of done it last night too...but got lazy and didn't. You can get the pure lanolin at health food stores. I got mine at Vitaglow online.
That is all I have time for right now... :grouphug:

The scale for me was 164ish. Looks like another plateau for me. I think it has something to do stress-wise with the new dog and my husband...the one that wanted the dog....is in NJ for two weeks. AND, I wanted to go to Rochester on Sunday to see another school play, but my husband said he has to leave Sunday night to go back to NJ and I wanted to leave DS home with him, but we'd probably be back too late for him to leave for NJ and he doesn't want to get there at midnight (he has to drive) and he said that if I go to Rochester for the day on Sunday that he might stay in NJ for the weekend instead of driving all the way home just to see us for one day...so I think I'm going to pass on the play...it seems like a lot to go through just to see a three-hour school play. You know...and my nieces and nephews don't really seem to care if I'm there or not...I might just have my mom and dad take my DD with them. This having my husband gone for these weeks really sucks. It's like, he doesn't get home on Friday night till close to 10 and then has to leave Sunday to be at the class at 9am Monday. I wish they'd fly him in and out, but they pay for him to have a car and they want him to use it for these things, too. He just got the car in the fall and he has 20,000 or so miles on it and it was brand new then! Anyhow...enough complaining...
Monet: Wow...that really sucks about your neighbors turning in your son's car. Some people are such jerks. Lucky you had your quick-thinking DD around...
Teensy: Lumps and dizzy spells don't sound good at all. I hope you get in and get things on track and fast! Otherwise, it sounds like you're having a good time around the house and getting organized for spring!!
Missy: Pregnancy test, eh? :s: Would that be superb? Well, if it's not preggers, then I hope you're feeling better soon. When I was pg with my DS, I took the test when I was about 15 mins late...we were trying and I just knew...but the test had the faintest of lines in the preggers window...so I went and bought another test and they all had a faint, faint line...and I guess the pg hormone showed up even then when it was very, very weak. I hope you are pg if you hope you are!! :crossed: Oh...and is it you that is having feet problems? I also use Vaseline Petroleum Jelly Cream. It comes in a tub container...I get dry, cracked feet all the time and I put this on morning and night and in a matter of days, they are fine...
Julia: I think even the tomboyest of tomboy girls all have a little princess in there somewhere ;) At least you won't have to worry about your future son (isn't it cool to say 'my son'?) eating barbie shoes!!
Bob: :grouphug:
Okay...I have to go eat breakfast before it's time for lunch!! It's raining again today...Junior's out on the back step because he has some pent-up energy that we would have expended during a walk to school and back, but not in the rain...and he kept barking and jumping up and nipping at DS...just playing, but I don't want DS to be scared of his puppy, either...so out he goes! I'll probably have to give Junior a bath again tonight if it doesn't stop raining and he gets all muddy.
Okay...see you guys later on...Kris

Morning guys..
Nice, slighty warmer, overcast day in NE Ohio...my DS is at school until 1pm so, DD and I are just having some fun. I think I might make some (good for you) blueberry muffins..she wants some bad...so, if I mind my recipe..haha..
Looks like I may have lucked out on a Scottie litter for July. I got a message back on my machine about July..but, I don't know if they are due in July or "pick-up-able" in July...(meaning they would have had to be born before that...May-ish or something) So, I have a call in to her and I am going to put some money down to insure I get one! I am psyched! DD has surgery in May, we are going to Idlewild (PA) in June and then July will be puppy time!
Still haven't weighed in...still scared...will have to get over that...
Talk to you soon,
Sar
(missy..nice to meet you...hope you are preggers if you want to be. I loved being preggy both times...although I had very hard pregnancies with both)

WIW was the same as last week 156. What's really goofy is yesterday I actually ate more than normal and the couple of pounds I was hanging on two came off...go figure.
Monet...Sorry that all your cars are deciding to give you fits at the same time. I think it's pretty rotten that your neighbors called the police. I'm not sure what graphic you are wanting to change but give me an idea of what you might like and I'll give it a shot.
Missy.....ooooo I sure hope that you are pregnant. Praying for sure. I know it's hard not to get your hopes up.
Tech...great pictures. You are a pretty lady. Enjoy Junior. Nothing like when you give them a bath and then they give you a bath...LOL One day my daughter was giving our lab a bath. He didn't want to get in the tub but by the time his bath was over he was sound asleep...LOL Speaking of dogs all four of them are laying in here fast asleep...lazy heads. :)
Bob...I hope you finally got some rest last night.
Sarah....awww the smell of fresh muffins....yum. Congratulations on finding your pup.
Teensy....Praying they find the answer to your dizzy spells and it's nothing serious.
Julia...I think my favorite would be gumbo with rice and a side of potato salad. I thought my family was the only one that would put gumbo on potato salad but I met a lady online in La. and they eat it that way too....too funny huh. Shrimp creole is a close second. My mom and I both think we make it better than the other one. Mine is more spicy than mama's. I like a lot of garlic and heat in mine.
Poncho.. ((hugzz)) hope you are feeling better today and are able to eat a little before you disappear. :)
Cindy...howdy!
Heart...are you hiding...come out come out where ever you are. :) ((hugzz))
Jack-K..hello sweet lady. How are you today? I thought about you last night when I was taking my walk. You always are so faithful. I was so tired I stopped walking fast after only 20 minutes and totally quit after 25. There was just no way to push through.
Sebray....hope you are having a great day.
I'm way behind so I guess I'd better get my bootie in gear.
Love and hugs,
Crystle

Just a fly by...got my paper cut and picked up the t-shirts for Saturday. The proof looks awesome, but I have not opened the box yet! :)
Lunch was a salad from Wendy's...Mediterranean. Yum! I also ate a couple rice cakes with ham as a snack earlier.
I need to go think through was I need to be doing, but I feel encouraged. Mainly, because Laura got the parts for my car, and put them on! She is out test driving it now, and if she has no problems, I will be able to go run around and do stuff! I am so excited! She learned how to do car stuff from her last boyfriend. Amazing...
:grouphug: Later, my friends!

Sarah: i do hope your daughter starts feeling better soon....its no fun when kids are sick :(
Monet: {{{{{hugs}}}}} im feeling your pain about car troubles....we just bought our car and have had it in the shop at least 4 or 5 times now for the SAME problem!! i told kevin that he better get it taken care of this time or i would go up there and put them in their place.....i surely will report them to every consumer reporting agency in the US and write a letter to my congressman if i think it will help lol....oh and do you want me to come smack your neighbor around too while im at it?? i could definatly use a good work out  just write down everything that needs to be done and do it one at a time so you dont get so overwhelmed

School out? Already? Our kids don't get out till the end of June!!
Well, after a really soggy morning, it seems as though some sort of front has come through because suddenly it's a bit cooler, but the clouds are completely gone!! So nice to see the sun again! Junior needs another bath because he's all muddy...my backyard seems to spend more time muddy than dry. I took him for a walk to the post office and to get DD from school. I have to remain vigilant in making sure he gets exercise or else he gets all hyper in the house...if I walk him nice or have the chance to romp in the backyard with him, then he sleeps most of the time he's in. :dizzy:
Sebray: You don't seem old enough to have arthritis that bad!! I hope you have some medication for it so you get some relief!! Plan carefully in getting a puppy! It's not like having a baby...it's like having a toddler move in that has miraculously raised itself from birth on a desert island and has developed really bad habits  Make sure you are DONE with college...the last thing you need on your plate is a pooping/peeing/chewing machine in the house...if you know what I mean!!
Monet: I'm glad you're seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with your car problems. That's great your daughter is handy with cars...what a great talent for all girls to have!! Anything to avoid going to the evil mechanic's!!
Country: Great to see two lbs coming off!! Good for you!!
Sarah:  Good luck getting your scottie!!
Okay...off to start planning out dinner...talk to you guys later!! Kris

Sorry, this is going to be another quickie.
I have been so busy here at work the last couple days and don't see it letting up before Monday. Oh well, I'd rather be busy.
We just got my aunt out of the hospital last saturday, she felll the Saturday before. And she fell again yesterday. So back in the hospital. My poor sister is about to pull her hair out. I don't think we bargained for all this.
I have been getting all my exercise in this week, just haven't had time to post on the board. In fact I got up at 5:15 this morning, fixed DH breakfast and then hit the TM and did my wts. I was planning on another walk (Monet said add an extra day) tonight but with going to the hospital on the way home, it may not happen. With all the exercise, the scale was still very mean today. I'm so frustrated.
No time for replies, so sorry. Maybe tomorrow. Congrats to all the losers today. Rest of us, let's hang in there together.

WIW: I weighed 119#'s this morning. My diet yesterday consisted of a protein shake, a slushie & chicken broth with soggy saltines. Today all that I have had is oatmeal for BF and chicken broth for lunch, and every bite of it felt like he** going down. I have taken 5 doses of antibiotics, and still feel no relief at all; I literally feel like I could die. I have never been in so much pain. I can't even swallow my own spit without experiencing extreme pain. I asked my DH to stop at the drugstore to see if they have any lozenges with numbing agents in them. The pain meds at night aren't even touching it...it helps with the body aches, headache, etc...but does nothing for my throat. I feel like I swallowed gasoline. I see my doctor tomorrow a.m. to see what else can be done, and maybe he will do a blood test to see if it is mono. I hate to hear that if it is that I just have to deal with this pain, and that there is nothing that can be done to make it better. Yeouch!
Well, I am going to go lay on the couch until I have to make the kids dinner (probably cereal or macaroni or something). I will try to check in sometime tomorrow.
Take care,
Nat

Hey everyone!
Well I was down another pound today – that makes 2 for the week so far! I am happy about that! Not much happening my way – I’m cooking pork chops for supper. I’m having a little snack right now though because I was starving!
CINDY: I’m glad you are feeling better! There’s nothing worse than a headache and being at work! I’m glad that you were off!
TEENSY: I’m so sorry that you have been having so many problems. I’m happy to know that your lump isn’t cancerous…that is a relief. I don’t want to say that I hope you have another “spell” soon but I would hate for you to have to wear that monitor for a long period of time. Take care of yourself and keep us posted. How is your son doing from those facial injuries?
MONET: You have always got so much going on. I don’t know how you have time to eat! HA! Try not to run yourself too ragged!
TECH: You know being pregnant would be a wonderful thing – you’ve been around long enough to know that I’ve lost 6 before. So, being that we aren’t trying AT ALL it would be wonderful news – especially if I didn’t lose it! It’s really hard to get excited with our track record. We just finished getting certified to foster/adopt through the state, I just dropped one of my disability policies, etc. so now would be the time that I would get pregnant! HAHA! You know…when you are planning for it…it doesn’t happen. I had 2 disability policies because I get put on bed rest right away and with my crappy teacher’s salary I had two policies because I couldn’t live off of 1! That is so sad. Well, we’ll see! I’ll keep you posted! It does sound like a lot of craziness to see a play! Just let your nieces know that you really wanted to go but couldn’t. I’m going to watch my niece perform in the Destrehan Idol contest tomorrow – it’s a spin off of the Am. Idol show – it’s basically the school talent show. She won last year. She has a great voice – she has been taking lessons since she was 5. So, hopefully she does well! Y’all don’t get out till the end of JUNE? When do y’all start? We have been starting around mid August – like the 18th or so for the past few years. This coming year we start on August 8th!! The funny part about that is that’s the day we come back from our cruise! I would have never thought that we would start that early so I had my cruise booked. When the calendar came out I almost fell out of my pants!! We get out June 2nd. Next year we will get out May 24th.
SARAH: I’m glad you found a doggie or doggie-to-be! Read my post to TECH and you will see how wonderful it would be if I were pregnant! I’ll keep ya posted!
COUNTRY: I had to giggle with the gumbo and potato salad! I plop that potato salad right in the middle of my gumbo!! It’s delish!!
SEBRAY: Sorry to hear the arthritis is acting up! Good for you for not letting that stop you from exercising. I would definitely use it as an excuse – even though you don’t use your hands!! HAHA!
JACK-K: Sorry to hear about your aunt. Just pop in and say hello when you get a chance!
Well, I’m off to have supper! I’ll see y’all tomorrow!

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!!
Went to the Doc this afternoon...he said my lack of sleep was from the pain of the nerve pressing on the spinal cord! He's upped my Neurotin to 900mg
3 times per day and then gave me some Restoril for sleep. I've not ever taken sleeping pills before so I don't know how these will effect me! BUT....he said with the neurotin along with the restoril it will do the trick!
Back to work on Friday...said that I would need tonight and most of tomorrow to catch up ...
I'm off to bed, so no replies tonight, but thanks for all the good wishes.
I'll be back tomorrow!

Just a quick peek before i go to bed
Missy:thankfully the only arthritis i have is in my left wrist....i got tendonitis about 10 years ago when i was in the military and it got worse over the years...its just a mild case of arthritis now but it still hurts like the dickens....over the counter pain meds dont help me at all, but im too stubern to go to the doctor lol....my little sister has had a LOT of miscarrages also but she finally had a healthy beautiful baby girl last year :) her doctor had to put her on progesterone because it turned out she wasnt making enough......but you are right, when you dont plan on having a baby thats when you get pregnant lol....crossing my fingers for you hon, so try to stay healthy!!
well off to bed....im so exhausted.....lets hope the scale is as good to me tomorrow as it has been the last two days :)

Pancho--I hope your doctor visit tomorrow goes well and he gives you definitive news. It must be hard taking care of the kids when you are feeling so bad.
Teensy--My DD had something several years ago, and it occasionally happens again, where she had dizzy spells and would black out momentarily. She started in her sr. year in H.S. and then it continued into college. She could tell that a "spell" was coming on, and so if she was driving she would pull over. Once she blacked out in the shower. They discovered that she had something to do with her adrenalin production and a heart doctor discovered it. It is not rare but I don't remember the full name. "Something syncope"--- and they diagnosed it by putting her on a tilt table in a cardiologists office. She took a beta blocker for a while and finally just gave up the pills and hasn't had any more trouble. Hope it turns out to be "nothing" for you.
Monet--Your week sounds rather frantic. Hope the car situation gets fixed soon.
My day today was frantic. I worked until 1 at the pregnancy center, and then picked up the girl I mentor. We went over to the local comm. college where we checked on a minority scholarship for her--one she did not get selected for. There is a chance she can get one based on need if she gets a bunch of papers in, so she stayed and took an entrance test, and we didn't get out of there until 5. It was 6 by the time I got home--dead tired.
Tomorrow is my French poetry presentation and I'll be celebrating when it is OVER!!!
I'm taking a bottle of red wine to class with me and will use it as a prop and also for enjoyment--if you get my drift. I'm offering some refreshment to the prof, and I'm sure he will accept it!!
Not much other news. I didn't weigh today. I didn't feel up to it!

I'm back from the funeral and exhausted! 7 hours up, nine hours back (don't ask) for a 20 minute service. I know my DM was glad to have me there and I saw cousins I hadn't seen in years. After the service we all went out to dinner together which was great!
I was particularly grateful for my points couning this week, it allowed me to eat a bag of FF petzels in the car and not think I had blown it, which kept out of the chocolate and chips binge I usually indulge in on long car trips. I also kept me good at inner last night. I missed WI today so will have to catch it tomorrow or Saturday.
It sounds like everyone has been sick--hope everyone is feeling better!
I appreciate all the condolences--my aunt was a special lady and will be missed!

had some ceral for bf....smart start....i know its n ot legal, has like 14g of sugar in it...but its the only healthy cereal that i acct ually like....i only eat one bowl, and when i do eat it im am even more careful about my sugar intake the rest of the day.....besides, eating a bowl of that is the only way i get all those vitamins and minerals i need lol

Good Morning! This will be quick. Tom went in to work an hour later than usual this morning...I still don't know why...so I am an hour behind my usual! Tons to do today...the festival is only two days away! :fr:
I think I will go for a walk this morning before I run out and do stuff. It will help the stress. I was more careful with my eating yesterday...no granola (its gone thankfully) and no wheat. I was down two and a half pounds this morning! I was happy, because I was almost sick when it popped up four.
I slept ok, and the sun is shining today, so I am optimistic! Later, my friends!

Good morning...
Just came back from taking Jess to school. She is so excited this morning when I told her that today is her birthday. She jumped for joy and said that she is going to tell everyone that she is 4 years old!! lol. I hope she doesn't drive her teacher up the roof with her excitement today...lol. After school, dh will bring Jess to work with him today as it is "Bring Your Kids to Work Day" and they will be there for few hours only. I hope Jess didn't stop the production at the news station today....lol. It is something dh and I always joke about because she is such a curious and hyper little girl. I hope she doesn't touch any "major" button and shut down the whole production...LOL. Jess has no idea about going to work with dh so she will be so thrilled!!! It is like her wish came thru on her birthday....hmmmm, my big girl. I am getting a little emotional now :)
I have a lot to do today, starting from going to WalMart to return and get another table cloth, grocery shopping for the group from church tomorrow and then made a small birthday dinner for Jess unless dh decides to take her out to a restaurant which is absolutely her fav place to eat. We hardly dine out so it will be a very special treat for her.
I really must get get going so I have time left for cleaning. I won't be able to do replies for now but I have read all the posts. Teensy and Pancho, both of you are in my prayers and have a good day everyone!!!

Morning all--I'm still beat, but I was out the door at 7 for my class this morning--the last one of the semester!!!!:D
I have a million things to do, one of which is go to Montgomery to get my international driver's license. I'm a little nervous about driving in Italy, but I tell my self that if I can navigate Atlanta--I can drive anywhere!
Monet--Congrats on the shower and the car!!!! Why didn't we have Laura fix my car while I was there????? I hope the show will be a success this weekend. With all the work you've put into it, I'm sure it will be!
Julia--I hope Jess has a happy happy birthday! 4 is such a cute age. They really begin talking to you at that age and say the most amazing things. One of the Sunday Schoolers turned 4 last week and I was telling him that he was a lot smarter than the week before when he was three. He replied "You got that right baby!" I was on the floor I was laughing so hard.
Sarah--Cats, Kids whatever it's hard to type with one of them taking up one arm! Your dentist sounds sadistic. Evil, Evil man.
Sebray--WoooHooo! You go girl! Tell DH we'll kick his you-know-what if he tried to sabatoge you!
Tech--Everyone down here is rooting for Bo.
Gator--Good luck on the recitation today! Hope the vino russo works!
Missy--Well it's about time you got back here! We've missed you. Let us know what happens with you-know-what. I want what you want.
BOB--I just want you to get well! If it takes surgery then it takes surgery. You can't go on like this.
Jackie--How was Thunder on the River? I can't believe I'll miss Derby Day this year--will you sip a julep for me?
Ok--got to get to work--so much to do. . .

Hi,
Will try to get a few replies in quickly.
I have gotten up every morning this week at 5:30 and got my exercise in. 4 days so far. Monet are you watching? Even ran to the store at 7:00 to get a birthday gift before coming to work. I feel better when things are accomplished.
Nat, so sorry you are still feeling so bad. Maybe you should call the doctor. Take care.
Missy, We had pork chops too! are you feeling better today?
Cindy, hope your crazy schedule ends soon. Get some rest.
Bob, during chemo I took Ambien. I loved it. In fact, I took one every night. Got off them, but keep them around for emergencies. Hope you get some rest and relief.
Gator, now that's what I call a good class, Maybe he will give you an A. I can't beleive you won't be having your Derby party either. But you will have a great trip. It was miserable for thunder. Sleet! This weekend isn't going to be much better. The balloon race probably will be rained out.
Susan, glad you are back safe & sound. Sounds like WW is working out for you.
Sebray, congrats on the loss. South Beach has a new cereal out called Multi Grain Crunch. It is really good and only 4 grams of sugar. I don't like any cereal (except frosted flakes) and I really like this one.
Monet, hope you are not too stressed today. You always work well under pressure.
Ken, birthday wishes for Jess. Sounds like it will be a great day for her.
Sarah, congrats on getting the puppy. Hope that mouht gets better soon.
Got to run, it's lunch time and I am about to chew my arms off.

Sebray: I'd switch to oatmeal and a Centrum Chewable multivitamin. Seriously, I take these vitamins and they are easy to remember because the actually taste pretty good for a vitamin. Breakfast is the easiest meal for me to stay on plan with...I usually have some breakfast meat on the george foreman and some strawberries or grapes with my grapefruit half. Lunch comes and...well...I could be in town and cheat with a double cheeseburger from McD's because I don't want to take out a loan for a salad  . And then dinner gets sketchy when the DH is home and he tempts me with pizza and wings.
Jack: Way to go on all the exercise!! That's the way to do it...right off the top, first thing in the morning before you can procrastinate out of it!! Like I do!!
Fillise & Sarah: I like Anthony best. I don't think he IS the best, I just like him the best. I think Bo's the best, followed by Carrie. I'd love to see a cute farm girl win it. I liked Simon's comment after her singing 'When God-Fearing Women Get the Blues'...he said "I don't understand that type of music...being from England...but..." I like Anthony...he reminds me of a blonde Harry Potter. And I like how he's from another country and is making it big here...kind of like the American Dream...you know? Vonzell just oozes of class...I like her a lot...very Whitney Houston sounding. Being a James Taylor/Barry Manilow/Billy Joel-type fan, Bo's not really my type, but I think he's the best of them all, star-quality-wise...I'm just so mad that that Scott creature is still lurking in the mix. Bad attitude, spotty past and NOT the type of person I want MY kid looking up to...that's for sure. He was actually laughing when Constantine was bumped last night... jerk  .
Monet: :cb: WOOHOO!! :cb: THE SHOWER'S DONE!! :cb: YOU MUST FEEL LIKE A NEW WOMAN!! :cb:
Seriously, I remember being your son's age and dating guys in that age bracket and I know how icky their showers can be!! :fr: I always felt the like I had to shave the shower before I'd want to get in it. Gross!! Sooo happy you're back into your own space!!
Julia: Enjoy Jess's birthday!! She's only gonna turn 4 once!! Before you know it, she'll be 11 going on 16 and be bugging you to wear make up to school and perfume and short skirts :fr: Seriously frightening!!
okay...I think that's everyone...I went shopping today and only spent $135!! My husband wants to have my head examined... Last week I spent way over $200...which is why it was so low today...they had great meat deals last week and I can hardly close my freezer for all I bought! And with him in NJ this week, I'm not eating any of it...jsut my Tilapia...I've had Tilapia or scallops almost every night this week! Can one ever eat too much seafood? I mean, health-wise...in my opinion, there's no such thing as 'too much seafood'
Okay...off to take Junior and DS for a walk to pick up DD from school and get the mail!! Kinda cold...46 out right now and pretty breezy, but the sun's shining and I like that!! Funny thing was this morning when I went into the grocery store, it was pouring and when I came out, there wasn't hardly a cloud in the sky!! I didn't think I was in there THAT long...no wonder DS hates going with me!!

Morning everyone!
I had a small dizzy spell this morning so got to push the button, and now it is recorded. I am not glad that I had one, but am glad that something will be recorded while I am wearing this monitor!! Talked to the surgeon yesterday, (not a good office experience) and she also says that it is just a fatty tumor, but will biopsy on removal just in case. Will be removed in an out-patient setting. Will have to give up my weight training for one week is all. No biggie!! But boy was I fuming. My appointment was for 2:20 yesterday afternoon. I got there at 2 and filled out all the paper work. At 2:30 the receptionist said it would just be a few more minutes.............at 4:00 I asked her what the he!! was going on......as everyone that had come in after I had, had already been seen........she forgot to put my file up after she got it all together, so there I sat. I was steaming and she knew it....... when she came into the room after I had seen the Dr, she says.....I am sure I am the last person you want to see right now, so I will set up the appointment in the morning and give you a call.......and now I am still waiting for her to call back with the date and time, but it hasn't happened yet!! Man, oh man!! I know the surgeon is not at fault, but it makes you wonder........
Tech-- The lump is a minor thing.......just a fatty tumor. It is the dizzy spells that worry me. How's the new puppy?? I envy you, we love puppies.......if they would just stay puppies....I would have 100 of them!!! But alas....the all grow into dogs, and I just don't have the room for 100 of them!! But I love the dogs too!!
Sarah--- Hi!!
Country-- Congrats........any loss is good!! And it is even better when their hanger on-ers!!
Sebray-- Sorry to hear of your flare up. My dh has arthiritis bad, so I know it is painful. Praying for some relief.
Jackie-- Staying busy makes the time go faster. I always loved it when we were busy, compared to being slow. Then the time just seemed to drag!!
Nat-- Sorry to hear you are ill. Sounds like a doozzy! Take care of yourself.
Fruit-- Hey! Good to see you again!! Congrats of the loss. You are doing fantastic!!
BOB-- Wow, when it rains it pours for you!! TAKE CARE, and hope you can get some rest soon.
Gator-- Mine is always in the mornings.....so I thought it was probably just low blood sugar, but Dr said "no, low blood sugar wouldn't cause that reaction" so I will wait and see. Hope it is not too serious. Don't think so, as it does not happen very often.
Fillise-- My condolences on the loss of your Aunt. (((HUGS)))
Keng-- Happy Birthday to Jess. She is growing up!! Thanks for the well wishes, I am sure everything will be okay!!
Monet-- Yeah......your shower is fixed! ENJOY!!
Well ladies, that's all for now.......

Just flying by...
TECH: According to Dr. Mercola, yes, you can eat too much seafood. You want to pick varieties that are not known for mercury poisoning...so the small ones at the bottom of the food chain are the best. The big ones at the top, who eat all the smaller ones who eat the littler ones, are the ones to avoid! Got that? :)
I have the main course for dinner in the crockpot, and I am going to go clean some in the kitchen...after I take a nap! :) Seriously...I am beat!
The missing jogger you may have heard about is from my town. It doesn't look too good to me...
And for those of you who watch American Idol, I understand from a friend, it is stopping here in my town on its tour. I don't watch it, but wanted to make you all jealous! :lol3:

Colleen:  MAN, do I hear ya with incompetent doctor's office staff. Never in my life have I dealt with such things until I moved up here to the North Country. Maybe it's because I grew up in Rochester with the Uof R and RIT and all the doctors you could ever want to pick and choose from...the office staffs were super nice...as if they knew they should be in order to keep you as a patient. Not here!! There are so few doctors and they all act as if they are doing YOU a favor for merely existing!! When I was PG with my son I would have an appointment for, say 1pm...get there on time and not be in the exam room till 2, then not be seen by the doctor till 2:30, just to have my stomach measured and sent on my way. I'm like, 'can't I measure my stomach at home and call in the number? Gawd. But, the doctors are so few and far between here and insurance coverage makes it even worse because that limits the doctors that are here even worse!! Oh, well, the river is nice, right? That's what my DH and I say every time we're inconvenienced due to living in such a sparsely populated area.
Monet: So, does that mean that scallops are okay since they don't eat other fish? And what about Tilapia...is that a big fish? I'm taking in all the fish I can get while DH is out of town...he hates fish...he'll eat it, but not without grumbling about it. So, I don't make it unless it's just me and the kids and then I make them spaghettios :smug: Cooking lessons from my Mom at work
Well, I walked Junior and DS to school to pick up DD and forgot she's staying after for art till 4pm. So, I'll be driving to pick her up because the wind is just too cold for me!! :^: And Junior's all worn out and needs a nap...we were out horsing around in the backyard when we got back. Okay...gotta run...Kris

Sarah--Your tooth doc probably has seen too many people like me who can't stand novocaine and hardly feel a thing with the drill. My DH, on the other hand, just gets pains when he thinks about the dentist. Hope your root canal went OK.
Fillise--Are you sure you need an internatiional driver's licence. We've been all over the major countries in Europe and have never gotten that. My DH does all the driving and just uses his FLA licence. We are leasing a car this time for the 3+ weeks we will be there.
Monet--congrats on getting your "new" shower."
Bob--Welcome back to the land of the living. :) Hope this new drug does the trick for more than just a few days. Ya gotta get better, kiddo. :)
My poetry recitation went just fine today. I got a 96 for it, and have no idea what I will get on the hand-in. Am hoping for an A in the course, but will settle for a B. I'm just so happy it is over. I have only the night class on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and I like that one so much better. It is work, but we talk all in French and it is helping me a lot.
I didn't get any exercise to speak of today. Right now, in fact, I could go to bed and sleep till tomorrow. My eyelids are so heavy. But I have class, so will have to stay awake till 9:15, when I get home. My DH is going out with some men for steaks. He said he would bring me a piece.
Gotta go get ready to leave in about 15 min. Hope everyone had a great day.

Hey y'all!
This is just a flyby today because I'm headed out to watch my niece sing in the Destrehan Idol contest. It's basically a school talent show based on AI. She won last year - she's very talented so hopefully she'll win again this year - especially since she is a Senior. They live about 45 minutes away so I know we will be late and I won't get to post later on. So, I'll see y'all tomorrow evening. Just one comment though...
I agree with all of you American Idol fans - Scott needs to go! I don't like the way he speaks or acts. I really thought that both he and Constantine stunk up the joint Tuesday night but Constantine is more of an "idol" than Scott will ever be! Hopefully he will be gone soon!
well, I'll see y'all later

BOB-- Glad to hear that you got some rest! Enjoy the stew......I made some last week, and it was scrumptious!!

I only had three days of work this week and it already feels like 10. Just breezing through on my way to bed. Had our last meeting tonight...the festival is Saturday and we better be prepared or we are in big trouble! The weather is iffy, so we are all praying hard for sunshine and no rain!
Dinner tonight was a chicken piccata recipe out of my low carb slow cooker book. It was good, even though I forgot the capers! :) Easy too! Every one seemed to enjoy it. I had a very small serving with a tad of ww angel hair pasta. I seriously overcooked the pasta too, dang it. I had a lot of salad with dinner. Yum! With all my great fresh sprouts I have been growing. I love them on sandwiches and salads.
Good night all!

Good morning! I have very little time today, and may not be back until tomorrow late. The festival goes from 12 until 6, and I have to be there from 8 or 9 until we are done cleaning...which will probably be about 9pm. Today, I have to go find the buns for hot dogs and bbq sandwiches, and get everything over to the church. I have at least two cars worth to take. The weather is not being very congenial, so we may have to set up inside, and hope it works. We really wanted to be out of doors...but there is nothing to be done now, unless the rain moves in early and gets on its way earlier than they are predicting. The rain is just one more frustration I really did not want to deal with this year!
Anyway, I hope everyone has a great weekend. :grouphug:

Here is a FRIDAY FUNNY to get the day started for you all!
Inner Peace
I am passing this on to you because it was passed on to me and has definitely worked for me. By following the simple advice I read in an article, I have finally found inner peace ... It read:
"The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you've started."
So I looked around to see all the things I started and hadn't finished. So, today I have finished one small bottle of vodka, a bottle of red wine, a bottle of Jack Daniel's, my Prozac, a small box of chocolates and a half-gallon of Baskin Robbins rocky road.
You have no idea how good I feel.

oh yeah...today is friday funnies...well here's one for ya'll
Hillbilly Mirror....
After living in the remote wilderness of Tennessee all his life, an old
hillbilly decided it was time to visit the big city.
In one of the stores, he picks up a mirror and looks in it. Not knowing
what it was, he remarked, "How about that! Here's a picture of my daddy."
He bought the 'picture,' but on the way home he remembered his wife,
Lizzie, didn't like his father. So he hung it in the barn, and every morning
before leaving for the fields, he would go there and look at it.
Lizzy began to get suspicious of these many trips to the barn. One day
after her husband left, she searched the barn and found the mirror. As she
looked into the glass, she fumed, "So that's the ugly ***** he's runnin'
around with."

My contribution to Friday funnies:
I read this article that said the typical symptoms of stress are: eating too much, impulse buying, and driving too fast. Are they kidding? That is my idea of a perfect day.
I know what Victoria's Secret is. The secret is that nobody older than 30 can fit into their stuff.
The trouble with some women is that they get all excited about nothing and then they marry him!
A friend of mine confused her valium with her birth control pills. She had 14 kids, but she doesn't really care
Skinny people irritate me! Especially when they say things like, "You know, sometimes I just forget to eat." Now I've forgotten my address, my mother's maiden name, and my keys. But I've never forgotten to eat. You have to be a special kind of stupid to forget to eat.
Amazing! You hang something in your closet for a while and it shrinks two sizes!
I have a very busy day so this will be short. Have an orthodontist appt. this morning. My regular dentist suggested I see this guy. At my age, though, I don't know if I will take this route. I have a problem caused by bad orthodontia when I was a teenager.
Also have to take my mentoree back over to the college to turn in her application and fee. So I'd better get going.

Good morning everyone....
The weather is beautiful here. Dh is off today since we had the dinner with the church group tonight. That means I have a lot to do to get ready. The stove is already cranking starting this morning with my curry chicken. I am trying to cook whatever I can in advance so I don't have to slave myself later plus I have some cleaning around the house which will take sometime. My menu for today's gathering is, curry chicken, sweet and sour shrimps, a stir-fry mixed veggies of nappa cabbage, celery, onions, carrots, chinese mushroom and ginger fried rice. Dessert will be a simple ice-cream sundae which is really easy to make. Just one scoop (or two for the men) of vanilla ice-cream drizzles with some warmed peach preserves and top with toasted coconut flakes and chopped walnut ( or almond). I will serve the ice-cream sundae in a cocktail glass...looks more fancy like you have slave yourself to make the dessert...LOL.
Menu for today....
Breakfast : An open ww sandwich of an fried egg and a piece of cheese. Some grapes.
Snack : Fruits and 1/2 cup of milk.
Lunch : Roasted cornish game hen, sauteed green beans and baked sweet potatoes.
Snack : Fruits.
Dinner : As mentioned above.
I will be doing any replies today since I have so much to get done around the house but will try to check in to read the posts. Good day everyone!!!

Just a quickie for Friday Funnies:
Women drivers...from a man's prospective!
I looked over to my
left and there was a woman
in a brand new Cadillac
doing 65 mph with her
face up next to her
rear view mirror
putting on her eyeliner.
I looked away
for a couple seconds
and when I looked back she was
halfway over in my lane,
still working on that makeup.
As a man,
I don't scare easily.
But she scared me so much;
I dropped my electric shaver,
which knocked
the donut out of my other hand.
In all the confusion of trying
to straighten out the car
using my knees against
the steering wheel,
it knocked my cell phone
away from my ear
which fell into the coffee
between my legs,
splashed, and burned
Big Jim and the Twins,
ruined the damn phone,
soaked my trousers,
and disconnected an
important call.
Damn Women Drivers :s:

I'm so sad...I know this will seem silly to you guys...but I just signed up DS for preschool. My baby is growing up!! I know most people look forward to the day the little ones get out and let the parent's have some time to themselves, but not this mom. :( When I go and take a shower now with DS in the living room playing the gamecube I already miss him in his little bouncy seat on the bathroom floor in his jammies and taking a nap. He's just always been my whole world at home and I'm going to be lost without him. I know..it's only three days a week, two hours a day...okay, go ahead and laugh...but all my life I've always wanted to be at home with my kids and I'm just not looking forward to sending him off. I AM, though, because he really needs the socialization and he literally LOVES being around other kids. Yesterday at the library, there was a little boy his age and size in the kids area and he walks up to him and says, "Hi, my name's Kyle, what's yer name?" And it was cute because the little boy was black and Kyle touched his hair and then touched his own and said, "My hair's blonde, and yer hair is brown and fuzzy." And with that acknowledgement, Kyle went off with the little boy and suggested a couple books to him. I just about cried it was so cute. And he just loves to play with a handful of kids at the Playplace at McDonald's. He'll love going to preschool...but I'll be home wringing my hands waiting to go pick him up. Okay...I've got till September to get used to the idea...I can do this!! :( Actually, I could consider myself lucky because if he'd been born a few weeks earlier, he'd be old enough for Kindergarden...but he's a Christmas baby, so I get to keep him home with me one more year! :s:
Julia: Your dinner sounds delish!! Wish I could come!!
Monet: Good luck with your festival...you continually blow my mind!! ;)
Julia: Conrats to you and neice!! I have neices that can sing really well, too...but no Idol contests for them to win. They're just in all the plays and show choirs and all that.
Okay...gotta run...I have some house cleaning to do!! And a growing boy to spend time with while I still can :(
PS...check out the tickers! One pound closer to the 150's!! :smug:

well i got my grade for my BIO lab 94.39% wasnt sure id be getting it back lol....i have a high C/low B in my BIO class so the high lab grade should be enough to garuntee me a B in my BIO class (as long as i get at least a B on the final!!) so now the only other class im worried about is my math class...ive got a solid C in it but ive got A's in all my other classes ('cept bio atm) and it would REALLY suck to have all A's, 1 B and a C just glaring up at me :( i could quite possibly pull a B in my math class, but id have to pull a miracle out of my bum and do freaking awesome on the final tomorrow....*sigh* i hate not knowing lol
Tech: i know what your going through....and TRUST me....you will soon start to crave the alone time you get when he starts school....i felt the same as you when aidan started this year...and now im cussing when school is out  both the boys are growing up so darned fast though...aidan will be in kindegarten next year and devon will be in 3rd grade.....yesterday devon's little girlfriend called him, they talked about 20 mins and then at the end of the conversation when they were getting ready to hang up i hear my sweet innocent angle baby tell this little hussy (she's not really a hussy lol) girl, "I love you too"....my heart broke....*sniff* he's growing up so fast.....i miss the days when i was the only female he ever said those words to

I have been such a lazy Susan today! I didn't get back from Montgomery until after midnight. I got my DL and then installed a new computer for one of my clients and stayed so we could get some work taken care of before I leave on Tuesday. It was good to get the work done so I don't have to worry about it, but after my long drives on Tuesday and Wed, I was so beat when I got home that I did not set my alarm and slept in this morning. it felt great! It's a few minutes before noon and I'm still in my jammies. I don't have any outside meetings today so I may throw on some shorts and a t-shirt and call it casual Friday!!!! But I feel rested this morning--which makes me feel great!!!!! I still have a lot of work to do, but now feel like I have the time and energy to do it.
Sebray--here's the dirty little secret no one will tell you about your college grades. After you get your first job, no one wil ever ask about your GPA again (unless you want to do some grad school). I always tell my students to concentrate on learning as much as they can rather than grades. if you focus is on learning, then the grades usually follow. But one you are employed in your chosen profession it's the work that you do that will earn most of your credibility not your college grades.
Tech--I know it has to be hard seeing your baby take a step away from you. They don't stay little long. Speaking of babies--do we need to beat up your DH for tempting you? He, of all people, should know better than to risk our wrath!
Julia--Your dinner sounds great!!!!!!
Gator--apparently Italy is the only European country that demands the IDL to rent a car. I don't think you need it to actually drive, but to just get out the door of the rental agency. Every guide book and web site I looked on said don't bother with any country except Italy. Oh well it took all of ten minutes and $10.00 and now I'm liscenced to wreck havoc on highways and byways throughout the world!:yikes:
Monet--Good luck with the festival tomorrow! I hope the weather holds out for you, I'd hate for you to have to drink all that bubble tea yourself!
BOB--Doesn't a good night's sleep feel wonderful????? Tonight is the big BE anniversary show. I want a ton of stuff, but will try to be good so I will have at least SOME spending money on vacation!:D
Missy--Congrats to your niece. I always wished I could sing too.
Cindy-Thanks! It feels good to be back if only for a few days.
Jackie--I hope you have a good weekend!
Heart, Country, & everyone else, Have a great weekend! I'm supposed to go to a bridal shower tomorrow and it is supposed to be stormy this weekend. Ick. There is a big srping festival at one of our parks here that I always like to attend--but not if it's raining. I'm also going to finally get my weigh-in tomorrow.
Have a great OP day everyone!

Good afternoon ya'll. Can you catch coodies through the computer?..LOL I am fighting one nasty spring cold. My engergy level is 0. Hopefully I'll perk up as the day wears on. I really really need to get my walk in. Yesterday since I wasn't feeling well I ate a few too many chips. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :)
Tech...you are not silly at all. My older four children all went to school at one point in their lives. We went full time with home school about 5 years ago so my little one has never been to public school. I think I would go nuts if he went to school...LOL
Susan....Hopefully the rain will hold off so ya'll can have a beautiful bridal shower tomorrow.
Julia....You're menu sounds very tasty. If I were feeling better I know I'd be getting hungry right about now. :)
Bob..woo hoo on getting a good nights sleep.
Sebray...You are doing such a great job on your classes. It's not easy going to school and raising a family. Praying for that miracle so you can pull off that B.
Gator..praying your appointment goes well and you don't need a lot of work to fix your problem.
Poncho..hope you are feeling better today.
Missy...congratulations to your neice. That is so cool that she won two years in a row.
Cindy...((hugzz)) I'm so sorry things are crazy and stressful at work right now. You are in my prayers.
Teensy...poohey on getting forgotten. I'm sorry you had a spell but glad that you caught it on the monitor. It will help a lot when they diagnose you.
Jack-K...You go girl! WTG on getting in the exercise. Wish you were here to get my behind in gear. :)

Just a quickie from me too, trying to get everything ready for Brant's birthday party. All just last minute stuff, nothing too serious. I still can't believe that he is turning 30!! I got some new pictures of him on some of his rides (wearing his helmet)......if someone will explain how to post them. I guess I could just scan them in and post them on my family site, and then link to them. But I would like to learn how to just post them here. Anyone??? Can't wait to see how his cake turned out. Those picture cakes are awesome!!
I finally ended up calling the Dr office to get my time and date for the surgery. It will be June 1st at 9 am. Lisa didn't even remember what it was that she was supposed to be doing for me, GRRRRRRR.
Well, I will try to get back here this evening.

howdy everyone. TGIF ! Well today was a little better. My boss came over and we had a nice talk this morning and I felt a whole lot better. But Im still glad the weekends here. I was up and down most of last night with a headache and I know it was all stress from work. So tonight will be a early night for me. We headed over to my Mom and Dads to mow after work cause its been raining all week and it is to rain all weekend and it had been dry most of today so we wanted to take advantage of it and wouldnt you know it started raining when we were half way through..but we just pushed and got done. Now their good for at least another week. We take our mower and use my dads so both dh and I can get it done. Great exercise doing two yards a week !
Tech- aww I know how you feel. I remember when my ds went off to kindergarten ( hes my younger child) and I was so sad cause him and me had the whole day together while my dd and sds were in school and I really enjoyed that time together and I was so lonely when he was gone half the day.. but sebray is right youll get used to it and youll love having the time alone. But it is a hard adjustment for a while. My ds is now 22 and there are times I really miss that little boy who used to love to cuddle with his mom. You know something strange , everytime I dream about my kids my ds is always like 2-4 yrs old in my dreams...always. (((hugs))) to you.
Sebray- I always hated math class..lol..good luck to you !
crystle- Hope you feel better. And I sure hope you Cant catch anything from the computer
Teensy- wow what awesome pics...thats looks dangerous !

Dinner was soooooooooo good. I was either starving or the black bean salsa was the bomb. My 11 year old said that she though it was going to be good but not that good. She was tickled pink with her tilapia with salsa. The boys had burritos.
Teensy... If you want to add a picture to your post...you go down to manage attachments. When the next window comes up with the browse button you click that and find where you have the image saved on your computer. Then you click on it and say okay. It should attach when you finish and send your post. Great pictures of your son. Those bulls look so narly.
Cindy....I'm glad things are better at work. And I agree with you I'm glad it's the weekend.
((((Everybody)))))

Hello all! I am a newbie to SB and wanted to drop in to say hello! My mom and I went out and bought the book today and I have been engrossed reading it since I got home. Any and all information and advise is welcomed this way!
I am eager to get started... I am an emotional eater (just like my mother) and have no gone passed my full term pregnancy weight with any of my five kids. How depressing is that trivia to have to have to admit to? UGH! :(
Are there any guidelines about posting on the board, or any sort of group goals set up to follow to help along with this change in my eating habits and lifestyle?
Eager for new SB advice and friends...
Bobbie Lynne from Texas

Just a fly by of sorts.... I just got home. The gallery looks fabulous. It needs a bit of tweaking tomorrow... We are praying the rain comes in and gets over with in time to have stuff outside. If not, we will have to shove everything inside. I am not sure how that will work, but we will work it out! :)
Welcome, Bobbielynne! We are very glad you are here! We don't have many rules here. Just jump in and join us. We do have a few things we try to stick to, like Motivational Monday, Weigh In Wednesday, Friday Funnies, but we are not very rigid about it. If you have any questions, ask away! There are a few big time losers on here. :s: As for group goals, I post challenges on Monday when we start the weeks board. We all try to get at least three days of exercise and post it on the weekly exercise thread. The challenges vary, and I am always open to suggestions! :) Sometimes, its something like getting in enough water each day, other times its something motivational, or on self esteem issues. Most of us post menus as well. Its helpful to be held accountable, and especially helpful when you are starting out to see how others are eating, as well as let the group critique your menu. I am glad you chose Sugarbusters. I think its the healthiest diet you can choose. I love the freedom of choices it gives, as well as lack of structure to it, that allows me to tailor it to my own personal needs.
I need to crawl in bed, as tomorrow is going to be a VERY VERY busy day! Talk to you tomorrow night! Oh, and pray for sunshine for us! Or at least no rain! :)

Howdy Bobbielynne! It's nice to meet a fellow Texan. You are a stones throw away from me. :) The best thing I ever did for myself was pick up the Sugar Buster book 4 years ago. I too was well above any weight I ever reached while pregnant. I've lost 80 pounds and kept it off for the most part. The key for me with this way of eating was to decide this was a lifestyle change and not a diet. Walking is my exercise of choice because I am lazy at heart...LOL I have done Richard Simmons and Leslie Sansone videos. Both of which I enjoy.
These ladies are a wealth of information and a constant source of encouragement. So just jump right in. ((hugzz))

Hi Bibbie Lynne--Welcome to the SB board. You'll find a lot of help here. Do you know my friend Sherry Pearce there in Cleveland?
Susan--I want to wish you a fabulous trip. I know you will be very busy packing and may not have many more chances to get on the board. Arrivaderci e ciao! You'll love the food over there. Just enjoy every minute!
Monet--hoping for good weather for you.
Sebray--I know the feeling. My little ones are now 32 and 34. Right now I enjoy the peace and quiet with my DH. The kids were so cute when they were little, but when they were teens, not as cute!! I never had empty-nest syndrome.
We are having friends over for dinner. They were in France with us 2 years ago and are bringing over some guide books we want to check out. We are having a "French" meal: roasted red pepper (with tomato) tart, roasted farm chicken (can get them at Publix-SmartChicken--delicious!!!!), creamed spinach, and, ahem, ice cream with cherries in wine over the top. It was our favorite dessert over there. I need to go to the farmers' market today to pick up a few items. We will take our hours walk then, too. We probably will sit out in the butterfly garden with all the flowers and sip our wine tonight. It's a good spot to take guests.
Fruit, congrats to your niece.
BOB--hope you are feeling better.
Teensy--Hope you are doing better too. Loved the pix.
Gotta go.

Welcome Bobbielynne!!
I think its important also to incorporate the new eating habits along with exercise. As you lose exercise will help plus help to firm you up along the way. I also love the Leslie Sansone videos. Its low impact and easy to do.
This is a great place for support , glad to have you here.

I went to weigh-in today and am pleased to report a loss of 3.5 lbs!!!!! I will weigh-in again on Monday before I leave so there probably won't be any loss there--then not for two weeks until I get back. I'm going to keep track of what I eat over there, but try not to obsess about it. We will be doing lost of walking so as long as I don't turn into a hoover, I'll be happy!
Monet--I hope everything goes well today. The weather doesn't seem to be cooperating--at least not here. But if you can do eerything inside you should have a good day!
BOB--spent any money yet?????? I haven't, but then I missed the show this afternoon because I had to go to a bridal shower. I will watch tonight's show. if there is something I want I'm going to try to get to the airport with enough time to shop on Tuesday.
Cindy--Good advice--I've got to work on being more regular with my exercise.
Sebray--5 days--you go girl!
Gator--Your evening sounds lovely--I'd love to sit with you and sip a glass of wine in your butterfly garden. I will do my best to have a great time. Thanks!
Country--You are one of our stars!
Bobbielynne--WELCOME! Just remember--whole grains, three grams of sugar or less, brown is better than white! Feel free to ask any questions you have, we'll be glad to help.
Teensy--I hope the party went well!
I have to share my victory today. I went to a bridal shower/luncheon. Lunch was chicken salad and fresh fruit--no problem. Then they brought around the bigest slices of Key Lime Pie I've ever seen. I had just come from WI and decided that the good feeling I got from seeing the loss was better than the feeling I'd get from eating that dessert. THEN they brought around chocolate cake for everyone. Didn't tempt me. I passed on both of the desserts! Yeah me!
Gator is right, i don't know how often I'll be on before I leave, but I will be back!

Just sitting here messing around on the computer this afternoon. I'm exhausted but when I try to sleep I can't quit coughing.
Susan....WOOHOO! I would have had trouble passing on the Key Lime Pie and you even passed on chocolate cake! WTG Congratulations on this weeks weight loss. You've had a great total this month.
Sebray...Yeah on the math final not being as hard as you expected.
Bob...I'm so sorry you are hurting today. Praying it gets better so you can enjoy your weekend.

It lives!! Bear with me, ladies, I'm struggling. I feel like an addict, I get on the wagon and all enthused for a couple of weeks and then BAM! A little slip. Which eventually becomes a binge. Which makes me feel like manure. But, I'm starting again.
BOB: the mountains are here anytime you need a little spiritual refreshment:) Just head the wagon this way and we'll have a rousing round of Rocky Top.
COUNTRY: I saw that heart for me, and a HUG right back to you. I needed it!
Everyone else who is doing well, or not, and needing some love, I'm beaming warm fuzzies out there. I'll be back later, OP or not:)

Good Morning, all my dear Sugarbustin' buddies! I slept like a log most of the night! I feel like a new woman. Its over and no big stressful thing to do for at least a week! :lol3: Next Monday, I have to cater a big dinner at church, but its not something I am going to even think about until at least Tuesday!
The festival went great. It did rain, and rain, and we actually lost power for an hour and a half before it started. Because of the rain, we had to move everything inside. It actually was ok. This year we had four pieces sell, which made four artists very happy. One was a 11x14 gorgeous piece of stained glass that sold for $600!
I ate terribly. We had BBQ, which was legal on the whole wheat buns I made sure I bought, but then I ate chips, and had a few of the most incredible cookies I have ever had! One of the ladies in the church has a degree in Home Ec, and used to teach, so she made cookies for us. Yum!
I think the rain hurt attendance some, but not as much as I was afraid it would. We have a ton of BBQ left, so we will probably have a party in a few weeks and let the committee eat it up! :)
I got in over 13,000 steps just walking around the church building yesterday! On Friday is got almost 15,000, but that included shopping at SuperWalmart in addition to the running around. No wonder my feet hurt! I was standing almost all day both days!
I have just barely skimmed the posts, but will come back later for a more careful perusal and replies. I think its time for some breakfast now! :)

Just a quick fly-by. DH is gone to NJ again for the week  then he's off to Vermont next week, but at least he can leave monday am. I always try to look at the positive side...so this week I can have the things I like for dinner...DH doesn't like pasta, so I'm having the most deelish ww pasta and for a topping, I sauteed a tomato, half an onion, some green pepper and some mushrooms in olive oil. I sauteed them till the tomatoes disintegrated and topped it with parm cheese and it's sooo good! I haven't had any starchy carbs today, so I should be well in my margin for allowed ww items...
okay...have to go eat before it gets cold...Kris

Just got in from church...we had two meetings after the service was over. I need to go order protein and stuff before I go to bed. Tomorrow night, we will be heading down to my husband's hometown. His aunt died this morning, so we will be attending the funeral.
Eating today was not too good. I had lots of hummus and pita chips, and I made Lion's Head (pork meatballs with nappa cabbage) and Bhutanese red rice (whole grain!) for dinner. I nibbled on a few things and ate a brownie at the meeting tonight. :o I was wondering why I felt so gaseous...until it hit me I had hummus for breakfast AND lunch!
Not much going on here... I will be back on in the morning to start the new boards. Sweet dreams everyone!
