Hi everyone! Just checking in before bed.

I lost .4 lbs. Not much - but better than a gain. I'm working harder this week.

We have been really busy with work and I have not had much time to chat. Hope everyone is doing well?

Have a good Memorial Day weekend!

Goodmorning All :)

So happy it's Friday. What a week I've had between work & the situation with my sister had me really stressed out.

Joyce, .4 is good. I asked a woman at my job, will she count points for the rest of her life & she said no. She lost 12 pounds very fast & it takes me forever. She joined just to lose a couple of pounds. How much do you have to lose? I lost 7 & gained 2 this week. I wasn't journalling which is a BIG mistake.

Myra, how much to you have to lose?

I find this program very easy to follow but you have to stick to it. I find that once I'm at 170 it's very hard for me to go lower than that. I eat 27 pts. Any less I feel hungry. I'm going to try harder this week. 25 to 27 pts. & the treadmill for 1 hr. 6 days this week & lots of water, a little less carbs.

Dentist today:eek:

Have a great day everybody:wave:

Hi my buddies

Been really busy so its been hard to get here. Unfortunately, I can only say hi cause I have to get back to work. Good luck everyone with your losses and determination this week and especially this weekend!

Hubby and I are leaving tomorrow morning for the Catskills. Will be a rainy weekend, but a weekend for just the two of us -- I'm sure we'll find something to do

Have a great one, everyone and God Bless America and our Veterans!

Terri, it's so sad to hear of little ones suffering; my prayers go out to Adam's family. Now you're starting the summer with your kids.....have fun. I used to love it when mine were home for the summers.

Dianne, have a wonderful weekend w/your husband. The way you write is so funny, love the devilish thought!

Myra, I'm glad you didn't have to move. I don't blame you for wanting control over when it does happen. Go for the Catskills, it'll make you happy and at peace if it's what you really want.

Joyce, hang in there. Some weeks will be more difficult than others, any loss is great! :D

Essie, have I read that increasing protein will help stave off hunger? I find that if I stay at the middle range of my points (I'm at 24-29) I don't get too hungry. Of course I NEVER get hungry if I drink all my H2O......always comes down to that, doesn't it? Good luck at the dentist.

We had a big scare last night....Matthew, who's 11 months today, was playing on Brandon's little rocking chair, and fell, hitting the back of his head. He is fine, but has a soft spot on his skull. Jess rushed him to the E.R., they did a ct scan, and his skull is fractured. Jess is beside herself. Matthew will be fine, the neurologist said there is only fluid on the outside of the skull, no damage inside the skull. We can expect it to take 6 weeks to heal. The poor little thing....Jess says he's absolutely fine, acts as tho nothing's wrong. She can't stop crying; she was right there when it happened, he's a climber, yet she couldn't grab him to stop the fall in time. Thank God it appears he'll be okay.

I told them I'd take Brandon for a couple of days, they'll be dropping him off later this morning.

This week our weather has been rotten....cold and rainy. I've got to get out a take a walk, haven't done so all week. :(

I hope everyone has a great long holiday weekend. Enjoy!

Hi

Terri, so sad about Adam :( I couldn't even imagine losing a child. The family will need lots of prayers.

Dianne, I would love to go to the Catskills. I went when I was very young & I remember it was beautiful.
Have a great time. ;)

Jen, it's true that protein fills you up. I couldn't eat protein all day long. I'm just going to cut back alittle on carbs. I eat way too much carbs. The same thing that happened to Matthew happened to my coworker's grandddaughter. She's 2 yrs. old. Her Dad was holding her she moved too quickly & fell out of her father's arms. He's 6 ft. tall. Her skull was fractured. They have to keep a close watch on her activities for 2 yrs. !!!! Poor Matthew:( At least you know he's going to be okay.

The dentist went well. I prayed ALOT!!! He said, he'll see me in 6 mths. I was sooooo happy to hear that.

Well, Pete's waiting for me to go watch a movie with him. I give him 10 minutes & he'll be nodding out!!! He always denies it. It so funny cause I see him with his mouth open, snoring & he'll say "I was not" I'm going to take a picture one of these days.

Have a good evening everyone:wave:

Love,
Essie

I have about 50 lbs. to lose. YIKES! Can't think about it though. Too overwhelming. That is why I like the fact WW rewards every five lb. loss. Small chunks are easier to visualize. I try to be content with any loss at all and even quarter lbs. eventually add up, right?

Hi ladies

Hope everyone is doing well today. I have been so good with my eating, staying within my points now for 11 days. Today is day #12 and I was SO bad. Since my birthday is tomorrow, the people at work had gifts and food......there were donuts (glazed) in the morning...(you know those things are like air, you can eat 5 without being full!!!!!!!!!!). Then out to lunch with a few people.....patty melt and fries, shared a piece of chocolate cake.....carrot cake in the afternoon because someone brought it.....(hey, it's a veggie, right?????? )
Then tonight, we went out for dinner and I had a sliced B-B-Q sandwich with onion rings. Am I nuts or what??!!?? And this morning, I had gone down another few pounds....(unofficially since I weigh on Mondays). Anyway, tomorrow is another day. We're going out for dinner but I will NOT eat all day like today. I feel like I can do what I did and get back on track tomorrow.

I hope the rest of you are having a better time of it today. Have a wonderful weekend.

Jenny523

Myra, don't fret about the total of 50. Small and consistent is the way to go. I know you can do it!

Essie, thank you! You made me feel at ease about my "Matty-Matt"....his doctors said the same today. The pediatrician and the ear, nose, and throat specialist both said it'll heal, just keep an eye on it. He is such an exuberant, loving baby. It really freaked me out; a close friend of mine put it in perspective....she said now we don't have to worry about telling him to be careful, that "he'll crack his head open" cause he's already done it! I know it sounds heartless, but I have a finely honed sense of humor.
And,hey, you did great w/the dentist! You're obviously doing something right!!

Zoe/Patti........HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! :) Don't worry about what you eat, you will never do the damage you imagine :)

I'll try to catch up w/everyone else tomorrow.

Hi everyone. I started a #56 about a half hour before you Essie. Noone got on it and thought I was being ignored. Myra and I started ours minutes apart.

Congrats Joyce. A loss is a loss.

Essie,
I am glad the dentist went ok. How are things with your sister? Hope better. I am praying for her and her family.
Sounds like you have a plan about the weight loss. Good luck.
What movie did you see? We are seeing Shrek tomorrow. Then we will see Pearl Harbor Sunda. Just Bruce and I.
Tape your hubby. he won't believe it is him.

Dianne,
You little Devil.  Hope you had a great time.

Myra,
You can do it! I know it is hard.

Patti,
Don't worry. I hope you have a wonderful birthday tomorrow.

Oh Jen,
That is awful about Matthew. I am so glad it wasn't to bad. Hang in there. What a scare. Keep us posted.
Poor grandma. I hate when little ones get hurt.

Thanks everyone for thinking of little Adam. I felt like I knew him. The power of the internet. WOW!

I have been bad the last 2 days. With the kids getting out of school it was rough. But I am back now. I do not feel good when I overeat. I am glad to be op again.

Have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday Patti!!! I think just about everybody goes off on their birthday. Enjoy your special day. :D

Myra, you're right about ww rewarding us for every 5 lbs. That helps us thru our struggle. You'll get there. It took my cousin 1 yr. to lose 40 lbs. & she was very happy with that. She looks great.

Terri, I know what happened with #56. When I check my email it shows me there is a reply on our thread so I just copy & paste the address & it takes me to the last reply. I know now to double check before I start another one. No biggie right? Us ignore you? Never!!! My sister has mood swings along with all her other problems. Last time I spoke with her she was much better. When she has to go to court I'm going with her for support. There's no date yet. She's always been the one in the family with alot of problems.
At 53 yrs. old you would think she would have a whole different outlook on life. The ones who suffer are her children & that breaks my heart. Thanks for asking. How's Brittany?

We want to see Pearl Harbor this weekend. The movies is probably going to be packed cause of the dreary weather. We're going Monday. We watched a video last night called Vertical Limit. It was pretty good. Pete was fighting to stay up but he nodded here & there. I left him alone cause I knew he was tired. Gotta get that camera ready:lol: My SIL is taking her kids today to see Shrek.

Jen, kids heal quickly. Hugs & kisses to Matthew. A BIG HUG for Grandma for all her worrying;)

Hi, Joyce & Dianne(hope you have a great time Upstate)

Happy Memorial Day Everybody!!!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the good words about Matt. :)

Let me know how Pearl Harbor is, Essie. We want to go see that.

Tonight we're going out for my bday dinner w/my bro. and sil. The 4 of us do so for each of our bdays. I chose Mexican (of course!) and will try to be good, am thinking of having fajitas, they'll do the least harm. Or course it's the margaritas I should really worry about!

I had a good moment this morning....was looking thru my closet for something to wear tonight (I'm wardrobe challenged!), came across a pair of great black slacks I'd forgotten I had. They're the really smooth, no seams, side zipper style. Tried them on w/a dressy fitted black tshirt, and it looks great! Usually I tend to throw on looser styles, Joe is always tellingme to wear my clothes tighter. Anyhow, it was a wonderful feeling to like what I saw in the mirror. :)

Terri, too funny about thinking you were being ignored! I've got to admit, I logged on that morning, read all of the new threads that were started ;) and didn't post! I didn't want to offend anyone by chosing one over the other. So I just waited a couple of hours till it got straightened out! Just look at it as great minds thinking alike. :)

Myra, Joyce, Dianne, Zoe, Anita, hi to all!

Have a great Memorial Day weekend.

Happy Birthday To You!

What are your plans for the day?

Essie,
I was just soshing. I know it was a silly mess up. I might have messed up. All the times are different on there. I can't tell who did what when.

I always have a camera ready. It is so funny. My husband fell asleep in Brittany's bed last week because we were watching a movie in our room and when I went to tell him it was over he had his arms around her big dalmation dog that is on her bed. All of us (giggling) ran and got the camera and he doesn't know he was doing that yet. Can't wait to develop it.
Don't you just want to grab up your sister's kids and take them? I'll bet you do. I hope she straightens out. Life is just to short. ::Praying for you::
Brittany says hi. She really likes you. She thinks you are cool. She loves when I open this site.

hehehe Jen,
I wouldn't be offended. I just always wait to see it on my e-mail and I thought "Wow this site is slow. Where is everyone?" So I came over here and wow. No problem. Have a great time and WOOOOOOOHOOOO
on the outfit. That is fantastic. There is motivation for you. MMMmmm Mexican. Lots of good choices there.

Hi everyone  Hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day weekend.

We have still been doing a lot of work on cabinets for our aquariums. It feels like I don't quit or slow down until I fall into bed.

Happy Birthday Zoe/Patti

Essie - I have 95 lbs to lose, it was 100 but I've lost 5 since starting WW on April 14. My weight is really slow coming off. I find I don't do very well when I forget to journal also. We want to see Pearl Harbor too, so we need a movie review Essie. We watched Vertical Limit last week as well. It was okay.

Myra - I have 100 pounds to lose so I know what you mean about the numbers. BUT, I like the 5 lb increments too because it will all add up in the end and 5 lbs does not seem so bad.

Happy Birthday Jen - Hurray for the black slacks I bet you looked fabulous!

Terri - So sorry about Adam.

Diane - Have fun at the Catskills.

I hope I have not forgot anyone. I have not been here for 3 days so I had a lot of catching up to do.

Have a great Memorial Day!

Yes Joyce. 5 lbs. at a time. It will add up nicely. You already hit a milestone. You are under 100 lbs. to go. YEAH! I celebrate when I get into a new set of numbers. When I get under 3/4 to go or 1/2 and so on. Milestones are all over the place. You go! You will get there no matter how slow it seems. Just keep it up.
Each day you are op you are getting healthier even if the metal monster doesn't cooperate. Good luck to all of us on this incredibly hard journey.

Have a wonderful weekend. Shrek was so fuuuny!
That Eddie Murphy cracks me up in anything he does.

Eddy Murphy is funny. Was Shrek good for adults as well as kids? Of course I'm kid at heart I usually rent most of the animated movies last one was 101 dalmations. :o and I have no kids or grandchildren to blame watching it on. I was wondering if Shrek would hold my dh attention.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

My husband loved it. Especially the Bluebird and Robin Hood. If you see it you will know what I mean.
They incorporate a lot of Disney characters in this and it is hysterical. Especially since Dreamworks made this film and the director, Katzenburg (Spell?) used to work for Disney and they parted enemies and he buddied up with Spielburg and started Dreamworks. There were a lot of Adults laughing. It has a good moral too. I think you would enjoy it.

Hi Y'all

I hope that everyone is having/had a great weekend. Mine was quiet but that's ok. I seemed to have caught a chest cold....YUK!.

thank you all for the Birthday wishes. It was a nice day, just relaxing since I wasn't feeling too great. My son bought me this great piece of furniture for my new deck that Greg is building. It's 2 LARGE redwood chairs that swing and they are connected with a small redwood table and there is a hole for an umbrella. I was so suprised and they are sooooooo comfy. Greg is out there now, trying to finish up although I doubt he will finish it this weekend (he wants to but I doubt it). I have been taking pictures of it in phases so when it's done, I'll post them on a website.

myra ~ don't fret about needing to lose 50 pounds. We've all been there. When I was at my highest, 220, I thought that I would never get down below 200 again. It gets frustrating but with the help, support and cheerleading here, I've gone down to 181 so just stick with us and I know you'll do it!! :)

Essie ~ I guess you're right, everyone goes off their eating plan on their birthday but I seemed to do it BIGGER! I'm getting back on track now, thank God.

Hi Jen, Dianne, Terri and Joyce ~

hope everyone is doing well.......

Hi everyone :)

I'm pooped! My daughter, her dh and the boys just left, they've been here since Sat. a.m. We had a nice weekend together. Matthew is doing very well in spite of his injury. It's as tho nothing's happened, which is great. Climbing all over everything, and happy as can be! We all went to our village's Memorial Day parade this morning (it lasts all of 10 minutes!); the boys loved it.

I'm treating tomorrow as day 1 and am going to be strictly ON PROGRAM. I've had a difficult weekend in terms of food, and am re-committing to doing this. I feel so great from exercising, and now really need to focus on the food.

Have a great evening everyone!!

Hello:)

Boy these past few days went by fast. I never made it to the movies but we decided to go at the end of the week. I only work 2 days this week- tomorrow & Wed. I took 2 Thursdays off cause Pete's on vacation for 2 weeks. I think most of you know I don't work Fridays.

Terri, my SIL took the kids to see Shrek & they loved it. Say hi to Brittany:wave:

Jen, new week with a new attitude. We must never give up. I didn't do so great this weekend either but I've been exercising quite a bit so I don't feel as guilty as I usually do. Happy to hear Matthew is doing well. Hang in there my friend, you can do this ;)

Zoe, hope your cold gets better.

Joyce, 5 lbs off. Everytime I look at a 5 lb bag of potatoes at the supermarket it makes me appreciate a 5 lb. loss. So you go girl;) You'll probably get to see Pearl Harbor before I do. We'll probably go Thursday or Friday. It's not crowded during the week.

Well buddies, till tomorrow.

Zoe,
Glad your birthday was relaxing. Hope you feel better.

Jen,
Relax. Sounds like you had a great time. Glad Matthew is ok. Good luck on re-focusing. Me too.

Essie,
Enjoy your down time. Have fun with Pete.

We went to the NASA Space center and had a great time. We have a lifetime membership and it isn't ther first time we were there but it was still fun. The Space Camp is there. (The Huntsville one) Brittany likes to watch the boy counselors. We saw an Imax movie. They change them all the time. This was the Exploration of caves. Man was it interesting. We went on a bunch of simulators. Fit in them much more comfortably now.

Hi everyone!

Just stopping by before bed. Tomorrow is weigh in for me. I think I will show a gain since I've not been doing too good this week. Oh well.....:(

Jen - I'm with you about recommittment. In fact I wrote in my journal that my goal for next week was to stay OP and to exercise a minimum of 3 days. So how about it. Next week we will stay OP all week. :D

Sounds like everyone has had a very busy & enjoyable weekend.

Terri - The IMAX movie sounded interesting. I know what you mean about fitting in the simulators. Movie seats were getting pretty uncomfortable for me.

Zoe - Hope your cold gets better soon.

I'll try to check in tomorrow and let everyone know how weigh in went.

Take care everyone and have a great week!

Hello my buddies

Back from upstate - what a wash-out, literally. It rained cats and dogs on Sunday, so we went to the movies. We saw Pearl Harbor, did I beat everyone to it? LOL. I thought it was very good - but bring those tissues with you - very sad. You know, I heard about Pearl Harbor all my life, but what I saw in the movies was really horrific. So be prepared. But there was also a love story involved and looking at Ben Affleck and Josh (sorry don't know his last name) was pretty terrific. Long movie, 3 hrs. I want to see shrek next but feel funny going in with hubby -- need to borrow one of my 13 grandchildren, LOL. Anyway, hubby got sick and we had to come home a day early so, next time we'll make sure the weather is better.

Jen - so sorry to hear about matthew, but glad he's doing well now. Kids are so resilient - its the parents who break, lol. Good for you getting back on program. Its the only way to go, have a hard day or week, just start fresh. I mean think of the alternative!

Zoe/Patti - so sorry I missed your birthday! Happy Belated Birthday hon! Hope it was a good one.

Myra - welcome back girl. Hope you're doing well.

Essie - Enjoy your days off with Pete.

Terri - Sounds like you guys had a good time at NASA -- to the moon Alice!! lol.

Joyce - I'm sure you'll do well in your weigh in and, if not, you'll do better next week. One day at a time!

Anita - Hi, how are you doing?

I lost .2 this week - what a ton of weight off my back, lol. That's okay, I'll take every little ounce I can get!

Well, hope you all have a great day today, I'm still off. Going back tomorrow.

Have to take Alana for her "after the prom" outfit - sheesh this prom stuff never ends!

Have a great one everyone!

'Morning girls,

Wow, had quite a bit of reading to do to catch up with everyone. It's great to hear that all is well with you all.

Essie, hope you're enjoying your short work week! Your mental picture of the 5 lb. bag of potatoes is a great one. It's helpful to have images like that for motivation, isn't it?

Terri, sounds like the Space Center was fun. Joe would love it, he's really interested in that. Good luck on your and Brittany's weigh in...you'll do fine.

Joyce, great job on journalling your goals. I used to list only what I ate, have expanded it to include goals, feelings, etc.

Dianne, sorry you had lousy weather in the Catskills. Hope you had fun in spite of it!

Zoe, the redwood chair set sounds great. What fun it will be to relax on your new deck in that!

Myra, Hi! Hope you're getting the chance to slow down a bit and get some r & r from work.

Anita, how are you? Stop in and say hi.

Had a fairly good day yesterday...spent most of it putting the house back together after the long weekend. Did about two hours of gardening; between that and all the cleaning, I'm calling it my exercise for the day. Got all my water in! I did go over a bit on points, but not to worry. Today is a new day. :)

later...

Great job Jen. Keep it up. I did great so far the last three days. I have my son on points. He is doing great. He can't believe he is allowed some of the stuff he is eating. We want him to lose about 10 pounds. He is too big for his age. We want him to be what he was and then his height will catch up to him. That is what happened to Brittany. He started to get a tummy. He is 114 and 5'0" at 10 yrs. old. He is tall. He came to me. He wants to play football and wants to get into shape now. He has a pretty good head on his shoulders.
We bought an exercise ball. It is fun and the kids are doing the basic exercises and loving it. They are fun. We bought it at Hibbet sports for $35.
