Its Monday! That means time to motivate and challenge!

Here are a few challenges for all my favorite losers!

1. Try a new recipe and post it! Share your review with your sugarbuster buddies! We all win!

2. What is your biggest temptation? What ways have you come up with to deal with it? Share and maybe it will help someone else!

Now lets go out and make this a GREAT week!

Good Morning! I slept just so so last night, so I feel a bit groggy this morning. For some reason, I am retaining water, so I feel all puffy and bloated too. I am drinking lots of water, in hopes that it helps. :)

I am going to have to run my car over to the mechanic today to get a gas possible gas leak checked out. I am not looking forward to that. I will need to find a book to read, and hope and pray it doesn't take them long.

I hope everyone is doing well, and had a good weekend! Mine sure was busy, but thankfully, the plumbing is coming along, and we may have hot water in our shower tonight! Its amazing how a problem of these proportions makes you appreciate little things!

I will be back in a bit! Time for breakfast!

Good morning...

It is nice and sunny here. I believe it will be warm as well. The dinner with neighbors were great yesterday. I didn't overdo it and only ate a little bit of the low carb potatoes since I was busy serving the guests and Jess. Today should be a relaxing day. I will have to take Jess to her music class later and the rest of the day will be pretty much at home. Today is dh's off day so hopefully we get to spend some family quality time together.

As for Monet's question, my biggest temptation is when I am eating out. Dh and I hardly eat out, not even once a month so when we eat out I tend to allow myself some room to breathe. I do not purposely order a "sweet" dish but I will not hesitate to treat myself to a little bit of my fav not-so-legal dish. I do try to portion control most of the time but not always successful. This is my personal opinion...a little treat of my fav food once in a while helps me feel "free" instead of "confine" in this eating plan. This is a a way of eating for life so I need to make myself comfortable...lol.

This is what I know I am having so far, the rest is not sure yet :

Breakfast : 1 low carb ww pita bread filled with leftover ranch chicken and 1/2 cup of milk.

Snack : Cantelope.

MONET : A trip to the mechanic is not something to look forward to but hopefully nothing major or expensive needs to be done. Hope you catch a nap too :)

That's for now. Got to check on Jess, she is awfully quiet :) Hope everyone have a good day.

Okay, let's try this 'manage attachments' thingy...I'm attempting to post a picture of "Junior", our Old English Sheepdog puppy that we're picking up on Wednesay. This picture one that the kennel owner e-mailed us. We don't think its a great picture as we wish she would have gotten down to his level, but we like the fact that he goes across from black ear to white face to black face to white ear...like a parfait!! AND he has one brown eye and one blue eye. I can hardly wait...I think. Like I said in last weeks threads, I've never, ever owned a dog in my life and I'm apprehensive knowing this 9-week-old puppy will grow to probably a hundred-pound playful, shedding horse!! But my hubby assures me that he'll become my fast friend and walking companion every day...which I'm reeeeally looking forward to. I anticipate walking every day for an hour with him at least. Unless its raining. AND, I'm going to give the bugger a bath every week so we don't get the dog smell in our house. It's okay for other people's house, but not mine!!

Anyhow...isn't he cute??? I'll attach more pictures when we get him...

Good morning all my SugarBuster buddies,
I have not dropped off the face of the earth, as you may have thought. I have been in a deep morass of studies, the worst of which I see this week. This is the last week of my French prononciation class at the university and I am delighted about that. I do have my "final exam" a week from Thursday, but I am already prepared for that. It will be reciting from memory a 6 stanza poem by Charles Baudelaire, a French poet who wrote about weird stuff (eg. the intricate decriptions of the process of the decay of the body of a dead animal--maggots, gasses, etc. Gross, right!!) I also have to hand in a 20 page report, written in French analysing the poem in various ways. My poem is about the "spirit of wine"and it took me TONS of time to get the report done. I hated every part of it. :( The prof marks off for any mispronounciations I make. Thing is, he has spent the better part of the semester having us study poetry analysis rather than even once listening to us individually say anything in French!! So I don't find out about my proficiency in speaking except for a one-shot deal that the final exam. I am definitely giving him a bad evaluation at the end of the semester.

Anyway, that's off the subject. My greatest respects go to Sebray with a full load of classes. I know how frantic life can be when you are up to your elbows with class projects, reports, exams, etc. It is definitely harder when you have a family to take care of too. As a student, all you had to do was study, date, and eat Ramen noodles!!! No other responsibilities.

I also started a French language class with the local Alliance Française (French Alliance) which has classes with lots of conversation and also grammar. I don't have to waste time on French literature, composition, etc, which I'm sure is fine, but not for someone just wanting to learn how to converse with the French locals at a decent level. This is my 3rd week of that class and there are 4 people in the class. Definitely a better student-teacher ratio. Last week there were 2 missing, so there were just 2 of us in class. Lots of conversation and learning for me!! Anyway, getting used to that class along with my university class took some real adjustment and I really felt like I was behind the 8 ball. Everything is much better now since my one class is ending.

My sincerest congratulations go out to MONET and your being designated as official moderator. You have done such a great job as our "leader" and I have appreciated your challenges each week. Way to go!!! :balloons:

Fillise , you should be leaving for Italy any day now. When is the official date of your departure? We are leaving for France in 3 1/2 weeks and will be back after the first week in June. We are very excited about our trip and have everything ready except for packing and getting our cats taken care of. I'm hoping that my studies will really pay off while we are over there.

My eating and exercising has been so-so. For the past 3 weeks I have been eating whatever and just grabbing what is handy. Often not the best stuff. My normal morning 2 miler has not happened because I would go right to my computer every morning to work on that darn French poetry project. Ugh. I'm so darned glad that it is finished. Most of it was BS but writing BS in French is definitely harder than writing it in English. Today I will go out and do my two miles, and it will feel so good to get back out there. I have stayed up with my weight lifiting because I pay my trainer for at least one day a week. That is motivation to get my butt over there to lift those weights. Right now I have a bad head cold, so I missed my second workout last week because of that. I am feeling better enough so today I will be back in the weight room. I also will get back on track with the eating.

Monet, I bet your roses are coming in so nicely now. My DH's are just lovely, and the best time of year for roses is right now. He cut his back in Feb. and they are so lush and disease free right now. He cut his first bouquet this morning and took them in to his work. This was the first week that I have been able to find free time to work in our yard. My butterfly garden needed a ton of cutting back and weeding, but it looks so beautiful now, just like an English cottage garden. The scabiosas are spilling over the garden path, the the lantana trees are in full bloom. There are masses of pink, purples, blues and reds out there, and it is just breathtaking. I have had several caterpillars and crysalides, and even raised two caterpillars in my butterfly box. The milkweek that is the favorite food of monarch butterfly caterpillars has been chomped down by the several that were in the garden, so I cut them all back and there are very few leaves to attract the females to lay eggs. No food is there for the young!

BOB keep us posted on your love life. Sounds like fun times for you. Just play it cool.
Speaking of love life, my DD has decided to get married to the guy she has dated for a couple of years. He has been married 2X before and has a kid, and does not have a stable job history. Bad stuff. But he is in love with our DD and is personable and we get along very well. We have done our part as parents in very clearly pointing out to our DD the fact that she probably will get very tired of supporting him, and that having children will be very hard if he doesn't have a good income. And that he hasn't been divorced 2 X for nuthin'. She says she understands. But she is in love and I think all reason has left her head. So we are going to suck it up and be happy for her and for him and just pray for the best. I am happy she is happy, and happy that it is her and not me marrying him. I have no idea when they want to get married, but she mentioned getting married in our back yard. It probably will be a small "simple" wedding. They are looking for a church that is closer to her house, where they will live (since he doesn't have a home, of course) as the one they attend (with us) is over 30 minutes away. I agree that they need to find a church where they can be active and friends with the people there. Maybe she will get married in that church (hope, hope). Anyway, I'll keep you posted on this saga.

Pancho I hope your new exercises are working well for your "innards." :) You probably were smart to hold off and get more information, and even look for alternatives. We are so quick to get under the knife in this country and the doctors don't normally seem open to looking for other options. Congratulations to you for your "holistic" outlook.

I hope everyone here has a great SB day. I need to close now and get my shoes on and get my butt out there walking. I have already sprayed the weeds in the garden and have gotten the laundry on, so need to get moving. I had a lot of catching up to do, but it is good to be back.

KENG: Nap! What a great idea! :) Looks like I take the car down tonight and leave it for them to look at in the morning. Still, I will be without a car tomorrow and I am NOT happy!

TECH: The puppy looks cute! I agree, the picture would be much nicer if it were on the same level so you could see his body. How do you find a puppy so far away? What happens if you get there, and you hate his personality, etc.? I never had a dog either...we always had cats. Tom had a dog a few times growing up, but their house was on a busy road, and dogs and cats were always getting hit. He grew up on a farm, but the road just did them in. :(

Well, now that THAT worked, maybe I'll attach other pictures of things!!

This weekend I had my mom and dad over for dinner. It's always nice to see them come back from Florida every year. We had chicken on the grill and fried summer squash. Which is my entry for the week for a new recipe:

Fried Summer Squash

One large Summer Squash
One egg
1/4 cup of half n half
salt and pepper
tbsp olive oil

Okay...slice up the summer squash in 1/4 - 1/2 inch slices. Beat the egg, half n half (you can use skim milk if you want) and salt and pepper (to taste) in a bowl. Heat the oil in a skillet or frying pan (I have a big flat square one that fits four grilled cheese sandwiches that I use!) on medium/low heat. Dip the squash slices in the egg mixture and the put them on the frying pan. Turn them a few times until they are golden on each side. Tip: Give the slices a little wiggle before turning them so the egg batter doesn't stick to the pan.

Well, I didn't put it on the exercise board, but I walked a couple miles on Saturday and then helped my hubby rake the old leaves off the grass yesterday for about an hour. Last winter came on us with really quick this fall before we had the chance to get all the leaves up. We went around once, but with 7 150-year-old maple trees in our yard, we have to go around more than once or else the leaves get pressed and half-rotted, like they did this year, and they have to be practically scraped off the grass  . So, we ended up with about 15 big bags of leaves at the curb...talk about exercise!!

Anyhow...I'll be back later on...

Monet: Thanks!! My hubby went to the AKC something or other website and found him on a OES link or something. The kennel is registered with the AKC, so we should be fine. I mean, he's only 9 weeks old, so I can't imagine he's had a chance to develop a bad personality. :crossed: AND, is said puppy turned out to be a lemon, that'll be my hubby's issue and this whole thing was 100% his idea. I would never get a puppy except that he's wanted one for, like, 5 years. He's had three in his adult life and he thinks it'll be good for the kids to have a dog to grow up with. From everything I've read about OES's, they're superb dogs to have with kids...I'm treating it like it's the third baby I've been wanting since my son was born. I'll have to brush him every day and give him a bath on Saturday nights just like a kid. I admit I'm looking forward to teaching him to roll over and fetch things out of the river on hot days!! But I'm not so much looking forward to him going out in the backyard and doing his business when he's full grown on muddy days in the spring and then romping through my house all wet and muddy. :fr: DH said we just have to keep some old towels on the back porch to dry him off when he comes in. AND, I'll be so livid the first time I'm in my back yard and step on a stinky landmine!! So, to say I'm apprehensive is an understatement....if I were a kid and not the mommy, I'd be ecstatic, but as the resident mommy, I'm predicting all the upkeep will end up in my lap as usual. DH had better know that when THIS baby is up in the night crying it'll be HIM that drags himself out of bed to see what's the matter... But I've been wanting to develop an early morning exercise routine and my hubby doesn't like the idea of me walking the streets at 6am, but when I told him that I plan on getting up and walking Junior (DH keeps calling him J.R....which was the name of the first boyfriend I had that did his business and then dumped me...DH doesn't know this...but he is NOT allowed to call him J friggen R!!...ever!! ) at 6am and he says that would be great now that I'll be walking with a dog that is the size of a small horse!! Anyhow...

BOB: I forgot to say...good luck with the recycled beau!! Like leftovers, sometimes things are better the second time around!!

Gator: Good luck to you with the French classes, as always. I had to drop out of my Spanish classes in college. I had a really, really mean half Cuban/half German teacher and she was so intimidating I thought...I'm paying a decent buck to take this class to learn a language, not feel like I'm going to be shot at because I'm not getting it right!! She would literally shake and act really offended if you said something wrong. So, I quit the class and saved the money. I think the older you get, the harder it is to learn a second language.

Monet: It's never the time it takes at the mechanic's that gives me a rash...it's being taken for a ride and feeling like they are dishonest with me about what needs to be done and then overcharging me. I've seriously thought about going to B.O.C.E.S. and taking auto mechanics courses to learn how to fix my car myself because I'm absolutely, 100% ocnvinced that every single solitary mechanic is a rip off artist...especially when they see a girl coming. The only one I ever trusted I ended up dating and then he got what he wanted and then dumped me...much like the aforementiond JR...so, even more reason to NOT trust mechanics. I'm getting all heated just thinking about it. I'm should stop thinking about it before I have to go back out and throw mudballs at the barn again!! Hope you have better luck than I do. I always make my DH take the car if he can't fix it himself now. Or make my dad go with me.

Anyhoo...I have to go get something done...it's a great day to put laundry out on the line, so I should get some done before it gets too late for things to dry properly...talk to you guys later!!

Good Monday morning.

Whew! I had to come to work to rest. We shoveld and distributed a truck load of mulch yesterday. Planted flowers and I washed 2 cars, fixed dinner and cleaned my house. I was worn out last night. I worked from 8 am to 8 pm.

Went to the first communion on Sat. That was my only bad eating of the weekend and it was not my fault. (always like to blame it on someone else). We were going to go early and take my youngest and her roommate to dinner, but my oldest DD didn't get out of class until 4:30 and we didn't get to stop and get anything to eat. When we got to the house my sister had ordered pizzas. So considering I hadn't eaten since noon, and was not going to be home until 11, I ate 3 pieces. I passed on the cake and had sf ice cream.

No luck on DD's house yesterday.

Bob,so they didn't admit Kate? Sure hope all these meds help. So your friends are matchmakers huh? They mean well. You are smart to take it slow but you also deserve to be happy.

Cindy, your cut and you are adorable. Love the highlights.

Thin, glad your mom is doing better.Reahb is a wonderful thing. She will be better soon.

Sarah, sending prayers for your DD. Keep us posted on the surgery.

Country, I'm with you on the fish. I am sick of red meat and don't reallyl ike chicken too much, but I love that fish.

Tech, Old English Sheepdogs used to be my favorite dog. Growing up I always wanted one. Good luck with the training. I hear keeping them in a cage at night and when you are gone helps. He is so cute. How big will he get? Thanks for the recipe. I'm gonna try it.

Ken, enjoy your day with your family.

Gator, Glad you are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. It's a shame the class was so bad. My DD finsihed her Masters Saturday and she is thrilled to be done with school. Congrats on your DD's marriage. You can't tell kids anything. They have to learn on their own. They think love solves all problems. Hopefully this will work out and he will get a good job.

Toni, glad you had a nice weekend. Now that you stocked your pantry you will be on the right track.

Monet, glad you plumbing is getting fixed. Gonna have to try a new dessert recipe and post it.

Gotta go get some work done. I have done my DD's graduation announcements and Cancer Society mailing so far this morning and no work. Can you tell the bosses are not here yet.

Have a great OP day.

Hi all...

Okay, DD news...just got back from the doctor...he has referred her to two surgeons...this whole process is such a bummer...why do we have to wait for "this appt, that appt, this appt etc...!!!" Just get it done so she doesn't have pain!!!!!!!!

I was a really bad girl all weekend,I think it was my nerves from my DD...I gave in to some comfort foods..but, today I am feeling quite chunky! I didn't get on the scale...it would make me feel quite depressed on top of this. I know my DD will be okay..but, ya know, every time a kid is feeling bad...tears...pain...it makes us moms feel much worse. Plus, I don't like my kids to "go under" with anesthesia.

Enough enough enough...something happy...well, it is beautiful out today! I did get a chance to work on my backyard...I need to work more there this week..so, the kids can play in a nice environment (not a "winter mess" of leaves and refuse from the seasons..lol!)

Sorry, no replies right now. I just read everyones posts... I will try later...I have to marinate some chicken right now.

As for Monet's questions for the week...

Temptation: peanut butter!!!! I could eat an entire jar of peanut butter. It shows on my thighs. Thank goodness my favorite peanut butter is Smuckers Natural Creamy...not any added sugar etc.

I will try to find a recipe and post it...

Good Monday Morning; I hope everyone had a great weekend. Our weekend was pretty laid back. We went to church yesterday and ran into some friends of ours that we haven't seen in awhile. They all seemed rather quiet and distant; they have always been very outgoing and happy, etc..Britt went to school with their daughter. They were there with the kids and the kids grandma. Well, it turns out that the kids' grandma has been diagnosed with lung cancer and only has two months to live. They are an extremely close family, and their world has been turned upside down. My heart breaks for them. They have moved her in with them, and they are flying people in to see her. They were on the way to have family portraits done yesterday. I will continue to pray that she doesn't have to suffer and that the family is able to cope the best that they can with such a significant loss. The cancer has already spread to her brain too.

I cannot believe we only have two more weeks of April...gheez, where does the time go?

I was TERRIBLE over the weekend. I made chocolate chip cookies with the kids, and ate my fair share (we'll leave it at that). We also went to DQ on Saturday evening and I ate a hot fudge sundae. I am back on track today, and my weight was 120.5# this morning, so I'll try to keep it there for awhile.

To answer Monet's question/challenge: My biggest challenge is social events. I feel like I want to try everything, and when you are socializing, eating and drinking just fall into play. I tend to overeat when I am in a social situation, and I make bad food choices. I could overeat the healthy stuff, but I don't. I do agree with Ken though...if you occasionally allow yourself to have the things that you don't normally eat, it is easier to stick with this type of eating plan for life, and you don't feel deprived.

Monet: Good luck with the car; I hope it doesn't take too long and I hope it's not too expensive. I hope you can enjoy a hot shower tonight.

Tech: Good luck....If you can get through the puppyhood, you s/b fine. Raising a puppy is a lot of work, and it takes a lot of patience. Our 4-year old Golden Retriever is just starting to outgrow her puppyhood, and it's been a long 4 years! That bathing vow of yours should last about 6 months, and then he will get so big, and you will be so busy that you won't find the time to bathe him like you think ;) . We bathe our dogs outside in the hose when the weather is warm, and then I pay a dog groomer to come to our house, and bathe, clip, shave them in her truck 2-3x/year. It's easier to hold them down when they are little, but when they get bigger...they get other ideas, and you are usually the one to get the bath  . With that being said, he looks precious!!!! The kids will love to have a dog. Kids and dogs go together like peanut butter & jelly. The belong together. My collie dog was my best friend growing up, and our kids love their two dogs. When Britt was student of the week last week, she couldn't wait to bring "her" dog to show the class. The kids were like a mob all over her, but she just laid down and took all the attention in.

Gator: 20 page report in French? My school days would be over with an assignment like that. Good luck with the presentation and paper. Glad you have kept up with the weights; the cardio and eating will fall back into place soon; it is tough when you are so busy with classes. Congrats to your DD. She obviously is old enough to make her own decisions, and it is so good of you to recognize that. You have told her how you feel, and then have extended your congratulations and your love, and that is so important for her to know that you love her no matter what her decisions in life are. You are a good mom!

Well, I better go get Lane a snack.

I will try to check in later.

Take care, and have a great OP day!

Ahhhh a new week! Hi everybody.... The sun is out and its beautiful here. My dreamweaver rose has buds all over it. And I've got a wisteria tree blooming in the front yard. I'm getting my usual late start this morning but don't really care. Only thing I haven't had breakfast and my DH comes home for lunch in an hour so guess I'll wait till then. I've got some pretty strawberries I need to cut up and put splenda on for a nice treat.

Monet- I can feel for you about your car. My AC in my car went out this week and we take it over to the mechanic and leave it today. And pray big time it doesn't cost to much and isn't anything serious. But you sure can't live in Missouri without air in the car.

Jack-K- Whoa girl you sound so busy it makes me tired. But I do miss so bad being able to work in the yard. I had a beautiful little woodland garden that has gone to pot since I got disabled. But its kind of neat today I can see from our deck a beautiful bleeding heart blooming.

Techwife- Your puppy looks just adorable. I love those kind of dogs. Can't wait for you to get it and tell us lots of stories about the antics of a puppy. I have two dogs, a blue heeler and a boston terrier who are spoiled rotten.

Gator-Wow you've been studying your brains out. It sounds so hard what you're doing. Hope you get to take a break from all of it soon...

Julia- Send that breakfast to me. It sounds so yummy. Makes me what some pita bread and chicken.

Bob- Howdy gal. Hope Kate is better today.

Time to run.....

Sounds like a busy time at your house...and PIZZA????? YUM...You know I"m not going to scold you for that dish...I love it!

JULIa..What kind of music class for Jess? Glad you're having some good weather. How's the pregnancy going?

I've put a meatloaf in the oven, got fresh green beans on cooking and there is some squash & asparagus left from last night..I just hope I can eat some of it when it's done!

Monet--Hope the car gets fixed OK.

BOB--Re my DD's marriage plans--I'm ambivalent. I know that it is gonna be tough--especially 10 years or so from now--when she's sick of his erratic job history. That starry eyed love wears off when reality rears its head. So, I wouldn't be surprised if she had some tough times ahead, although she denies that it can happen to her. Somehow, women think that THEY are the one with just the magic touch that will CHANGE HIM. Unfortunately, people don't change, unless the change comes from within. As I said, I'm glad it's her marrying him, and not me.
Hope your mom is doing better this afternoon.

Teensy--How are you doing, girl?

Jackie--I can't get over how much work you did! Wow, that's a ton. You really got in the exercise.

Gotta go. I did my weight lifting this afternoon; went grocery shopping, and to the HFS and to Lowes, did the laundry, folded the clothes, vacuumed the house, cleaned the kitchen, and now have to get ready to go to class tonight. See ya tomorrow.

Well, Monet is not a happy camper! Laura left for work, and soon after, I went to pick up James from work. She called on my cellphone to tell me her car died about a mile from work and she was walking the rest of the way. That screws up plans for my car to go to the mechanic tomorrow, since Tom can't drive her car to work. I know she is ecstatic about it, since she wants a new car, and thinks this will accelerate Tom's buying her one. I am just so frustrated with the car situation, I want to scream. Ok, enough of my problems.

CINDY: I love your hair cut and even though the pix were a bit dark, the highlighting looks good! Cute and sassy just in time for warm weather!

BOB: I bet it was quite a surprise to have an old boyfriend show up like that. Everyone has given you good advice. It will be interesting to see if he gets that job in St. Pete. I hope Kate is doing better now that she is starting on the prednisone! (I can't take that stuff...makes me paranoid, and they have to give me Xanax to calm me down!)

GATOR: Wow, you were busy today! I hope the time goes quickly for you with that French class. Are you going to be staying in the same place you did the last time you went to France for vacation? My roses are a mixed bag! A few of the old garden roses...like Zepherine Droughin and Duchesse da Brabant, are blooming. The New Dawn is just setting buds, but you can tell its going to be loaded. The Cherokee Rose, the Georgia state flower, is blooming its head off but unfortunately, the azaleas eclipse it.

TONI: Have I ever asked you if you were near Fulton Missouri? I never use the AC in my car...I did not want to spend the money to fix it a few years ago when it would not cool. We were going on a long vacation in it, though, and Tom insisted! I would much rather put down the windows and let the breeze blow!

PANCHO: Well, with the car problems getting worse, it looks like Tom is not going to be able to get to any plumbing tonight. He stayed after work today and did his lower body workout in the health club on their campus. It looks like I will be using James' shower another day or two! :(

SARAH: Everything is going to be ok! It is a pain to have to run from doctor to doctor. When I had surgery back in October, I had to have two different surgeons...one for the hysterectomy and another for the hernia. Neither one would do liposuction on me either...the bums!

JACK: I got tired just reading what all you did over the weekend! You should have seen me trying to plant those tomato plants. You would have gotten a good laugh. I just hope the neighbors did not hear all the wirty dords that came out of my mouth! :o

TECH: I have never had a dog either. We always had cats. My husband would love a dog, but not anymore. He does not want the responsibility. I know if we had one, it would all be up to me to feed, bathe, etc. Thankfully, James is good about taking care of the cats needs, since over half of them are his! It sure is a cute puppy though!

KENG: Well, I did not make it to the mechanic, and now the plans have changed, since Laura's car is acting up. I need to win the lottery so I can buy us all new cars!

COUNTRY:  I have tilapia tonight and thought of you! :)

That is it for me. I need to go clean up in the kitchen, but I feel crumby and would much rather lay down!

Hi all. Wow today it got up to the mid 80's here. I could hardly believe it. It was so nice. DD and I took one of our 1 hour walks today and it was just perfect out. My biggest temptation ...hm... Have to say pizza. I just try and avoid it. I have had it a few times. I will allow myself to indulge very rarely but every once in a blue moon. And then I limit myself to a small amount. I think the whole key is learning how NOT to overdo when you do eat something thats been a problem.

Tech- the puppy is SO cute. Im jealous :)

Gatorgal- sounds like you are keeping busy with studying. I wish I had the extra gumption to do it.

Jack-k- Pizza...mmm hope you ate some for me. Thats my favorite food !

Sarah- ((((hugs)))) for you and your dd

Pancho- so sorry to hear about your friends grandma. Thats very stressful for all.

Toni- Arent strawberries great? Weve been getting them every week. I used to never ever eat fruit or many veges before lc and I cant believe all this wonderful stuff I was missing out on.

Bob- Hopefully the predizone will help her. Its some good stuff. Ive had to take it on and off for eczema/psoroisis on my hands when they've gotton so bad I cant stand it and predizone wipes it right out.

Monet - sorry to hear about your car. When it rains it pours eh?

Mondays menu

b- mock danish, 4 bacon
s- 4oz LF cottage cheese
l- romaine/spinach salad with diced red pepper and brocilli and LF ranch
s- 5 small radishs, 1 celery stalk
d- leftover chicken -4 oz breast, steamed califlower and 4 grape tomatoes.
s- 1/2 cup diced strawberries with a dab of cream

Hey everyone!! ARGGHHH, I just want to crawl into a hole and pull this bad week in after me. But, I shall just move on instead, accept what horrible things the scale says Wednesday, and know that I'm back on track. On the plus side, I had a great time at the pool Friday,my cleaning lady came and my house looks decent again AND a very sweet and sexy boy from Canada called me today out of the blue.

MONET: I'm sorry to hear about your car. I hope you have mechanics that you can trust? I don't know what I'd do without mine, they rock! Congrats on being made board monitor! Is it okay to ask what happened to Deb, or is that not discussed?

Ladies, I'll be back later tonight probably. I just wanted to check in and let you know I was alive:)

Ellen

ARCAYNE: Deb kind of dropped off the board when her son was getting ready to graduate from high school and head off to college, then the hurricanes hit Florida and she was doing all kinds of work for her mother, who had major damage to an apartment building she owned, then Deb's computer was on the fritz. All that has been over a year and Suzanne asked me to take over, since they have not heard from Deb about when, if ever, she was coming back. The board really needed a moderator to keep things tidy and organized, so here I am! :) There are no hard feelings, or anything, I hope. We all miss her, and if she comes back, that would be great, but in the meantime, I am now considered officially the mod, whereas before I was just acting like one! ;) I am glad you are back on track this week. We missed you! I was getting ready to send out the posse to see where you were!

Hello ladies---

Sorry but this will be just another fly by.....spent all day (and I do mean all day!) in town today with my Mom as she wanted to buy a new car. This is such a long and drawn out process. She wanted to buy a midsize SUV. She is a tall woman and wanted something that was easy for her to get in and out of, plus something that would be easy for my Grandmother to get in and out of also. (Grandma is not tall, rather short as a matter of fact!) So we started at the first dealer that was along our road into town and proceded to hit them all. She finally found a 2004 Chevy Blazer that only had 15,000 miles on it and liked it over the new ones she looked at. So.......then the mountains of paper work......then it hit her that she was getting rid of the last car that my Dad bought, so the tears started.....first hers then mine. Poor dh didn't know what to do with two blubbering women, lol. But, she is happy now and we will pick it up on Thursday when I go into town for a Dr appointment. She is having undercoating and some other stuff added to it.

I am sorry that I am just too pooped to get in any replies tonight. Eating over the weekend sucked.......SIL made cheesecake tarts for my Mom's birthday!! So will see everyone sometime tomorrow after shampooing carpets and upholstery. Night, night.

Good Morning! This is going to be a short post, since my DSL was not working properly, and I finally got James to reset it, but now its late and I have things to do! The weather is gorgeous here...warm, sunny, with a slight breeze. I hope it doesn't get as hot as yesterday, since I was miserable! I think something I ate is causing me to retain fluids. My guess is salami?? Nothing else was very salty, or suspect. I hopped on the metal monster to check things out and just as I suspected, I was up-- 4 pounds! Its water, and I want to get rid of it and some more of its little friends, but it looks like WIW is not going to be a good one for me.

Right now, I am waiting on James to get ready to go to work, and I am getting irritated. I am not going to have any time to run errands because he is so late.

I will check in later...

Here is my menu so far:

Breakfast: 3 eggs, 1 piece toast, water to drink

Just a little thought...I picked up a 5 lb bag of potatoes the other day and thought it was really heavy. Then I picked up THREE of them and thought...that's how much weight I've lost!! I can't believe I was carrying around all that weight, up and down stairs, etc. Wow. It really brings it all home!! No wonder I can trot up the stairs a lot faster than I used to!!

Sebray: Don't know how you do it!! I'd fall asleep face first in my text book...or whatever you had you were working on!!

Teensy: I'm nearly 40 years old and I've gone car shopping exactly three times!! Since it's only about a once-every-ten-years-or-so thing for me, I LOVE car shopping!! Its soo exciting!! I got my 1984 Dodge Charger when I was 17 in 1983...fresh off the showroom floor...had my first hairdressing job and dad said...you're not driving MY car to work, so he co-signed my loan. Then in 1991 I got my 1991 Dodge Daytona with maroon velour seats and sparkly maroon paint (dark cherry was the official color) and a factory installed cassette player, which was my DREAM, instead of some cheap thing that was hacked into the dashboard by whatever boyfriend. Then in 2001 I got my 1998 purple mini van and have had it ever since. It was a real drama for me to go from my sporty hatchback to a mom-mobile, but once I got over it, I LOVE my minivan!! But I can't wait to buy something new someday, too...I think I'd like an SUV, too...solely to tork off the extremely liberal neighbor of mine that also drives an SUV, but complains how everyone drives SUV's... she's funny  .

Arcayne, dahling...you don't know how bad my husband wants me to do what you do for a living...he'd love for me to be working along while ironing or sewing curtains for the kids bedrooms and making a ton of money over the phone  . I think I'd be so embarassed, my face would bleed from blushing so hard  . We'll be waiting here on the wagon for you when you're ready to jump on board!!

Cindy...we're having nice, warm weather here, too!! It's soo nice finally!!

Gator: I feel for you with your daughter. Man, oh man, do I feel for ya...because I was once in your daughter's shoes with MY daughter's father. Let's just say he's a musician...and you know how your brain has two halves..one to be creative and one to balance the checkbook? Well, his creative side ATE the other side and now the whole brain is just plain creative. He's a great guy, but let's just say that we haven't seen him in over five years...I had a baby to raise and didn't need to raise a man in his thirties (at the time) that refused to work for fear of 'selling out' of his music 'career'. Which meant he slept all day, stayed up all night in the basement practicing his guitar and smoking pot. Last I knew he was on welfare and apparently waiting for Jimmi Hendrix's soul to be reincarnated into his body and/or for Carlos Santana to hire him in to play guitar on the road with him. You know...like...okay, sure... :dizzy: Let's hope your daughter has a happier ending than I did...you'll all be in my thoughts and prayers!!

BOB: :grouphug: Man, I hope you start feeling better, soon. If anyone deserves to have a really awesome, healthy day in the sunshine, it's you !! GET BETTER!!

Monet: Car problems seem to be having the domino effect on you!! You poor soul...I can't STAND the mechanics...I won't get into it again...but I think you need a :grouphug:, too!!

Toni: Your yard sounds simply divine...it's so nice when those perrenials start to sprout!!

Pancho...prayers for your friend's family!! That darn cancer thing seems to be effecting everyone's family these days!! And isn't it just like a batch of homemade chocolate chipperoos to send you into a whirlpool of cheating madness!! Not the end of the world...last week, I was in the bad stuff mode, as well, and now I'm down two pounds after a couple days of being very stringent!! Dust off and get back on the wagon, Chicka!!

I THINK that's mostly everyone...DH is off to Ohio, near Cincinatti? to get Junior. He's only 9 weeks old (well close to 10 now) and already weighs something lieke 25 pounds!! Big breed, that's for sure, but I'm really excited to meet him. My mom almost sounds mad at me for getting a dog and breaking out of the 'cat person' persona. She's like "What are you gonna do with it?" and I'm like, "Um...the same thing I do with my cat?" She just isn't a dog person...she'll just have to get used to it...Junior will be home tomorrow night late...DH has a 9 hour drive one way to get to Cincinnati from here and is leaving after he's done with work today and took tomorrow off. Poor guy...but this was HIS idea..not mine!!

Okay...have to go to Watertown...talk with you guys later

Good morning everyone!

We got up realy early this morning..my DA (aunt) had (is having) a total knee replacement at 10am (it is 10:02 right now...hopefully they started on time) and my DM is going to be there with her to wait in the waiting room...how fun...I would be there too..but, I have two little ones that would make it a circus..haha!!

So, I have my DD an appt on Thursday with the surgeon..however, he is out of our network..crazy?? I want to see if there is another really good doctor that is in our network..we have UHC and that is good insurance..

Our neighbor took my DS to school and my DD and I have already been to the store and back...so, I am making headway today..even though I have to work (wahh!) Last night was a killer at work...they up and changed everything and only told a couple of people to tell all of us...a huge procedural change. See, you can wonder about your insurance claim adjusters...we are all disgruntled!...and, we have to still be nice to customers..haha!!!

Monet...sorry to hear about the cars...doesn't it always work that way though?? never fails..when you want something to be done, something else always happens to get in the way.

Sebray...I give you lots of credit to go to school and have to go through the exams...papers etc. I miss classes..but, I don't know if I would want to do all the extra work...

Kris...I am really hoping you make your goals..I saw your ticker and it looks good!!! I would like to change mine sometime, maybe this week I will face the scale?? ARGH!

Eating last night wasn't wonderful. I marinated the chicken before work..thinking my DM and DF would make it...well, they ordered pizza because my DA and DGM came over to see the kids...before DAs surgery today. So, after work, I came by my DMs house and had some pizza..mostly toppings though..and not much. I held back. Today has been 2 over medium eggs and that is it...so far...not hungry. I think I will make a huge salad for lunch.

Talk to you all later.

I will try to check in at work..but, if we are slammed it may not be an option...lol!

Sebray--Good luck on your classes and exams. I noticed that your goal weight and mine are exactly the same. I have 50 pounds to go. We’ll have to keep each other going till we reach goal. :)

Teensy--That was so nice of you to help your mom.

Arcayne--Congrats on the 20 pound loss. Keep going, kiddo, you can make it.

Kris--That’s so great about the 2 pound loss. You are doing fabulously. Way to go. :cheer:

I got in 15190 steps yesterday. I did my 2 mile walk in the morning, and I guess I had so much running around to do that that is how I got in all those other steps. I've already done my 2 miles this morning and will park off campus today and walk the mile to class, so that will give me 2 more miles. I have my conversational class at the French Alliance tonight, so will be really "french-fried" today.
Sebray--I noticed that you are taking or will be taking French. What level are you?

Eating yesterday was weird:
B: Shredded wheat 'n bran with 1/2 banana and skim milk
L: 2 slices SGWW bread with 1 T lo cal mayo and 4 oz. lean roast beef
Snack: :( about 1 oz. sesame sticks and a handful of sunflower seeds
Dinner: 1 cup black bean soup and a small bowl of shredded wheat 'n bran with 1/2 banana and skim milk.
I don't see any veggies and not much fruit. Bad. I need to change that. Gotta get those green veggies and bright orange and yellow veggies. I know they are good for my health.

Today so far--breakfast was the same as yesterday--shredded wheat.
My DH made fresh vegetable juice so maybe that will be my lunch. Gotta get in a salad somewhere.

Have a great SB day everyone.

Morning all!

It is soooo gorgeous here! We've finally had a week of beautiful weather. It's still on the coolish side though, but I'm not really happy till the temo hits 90!:D

Eating has been going well. Some days its a struggle to eat all my points--but they say to eat them so I'm going to until they tell me to stop. It seems to be working so far, so who am I to argue?

I don't think I can do responses to everyone, but I'll get started and go as far as I can.

Gator--I'm leaving two weeks from today (May 3rd). We fly to Rome and have three days there, a week in Tuscany, two days in Venice and Milan and fly home on the 17th. I know you are looking forward to your trip as much as I'm looking forward to mine! Great work on getting all the steps in yesterday!

Sarah--I've still got your DD in my prayers! Don't sweat the pizza, as long as you don't overdo it and get right back--it probably won't even show.

Tech--it sounds like you have the same car philosophy I do. I'm 46 and just bought my 4th car last November. I say drive'em till they drop! Isn't it amazing how much extra weight we lug around?

Monet--I say get Monet a new car and give Laura yours! Heck since you end up hauling everyone around, you should have the most reliable vehicle!

Sebray--I know what you mean--somehow I missed Monday too!:o

Teensy--Your car shopping sounds bittersweet. . . I hope your DM will be happy with her new car.

Arcaye--I was wondering where you were. You know none of us are perfect so don't worry about coming back here! We love you and will help you do this!!!!!

Cindy, BOB, NAT, Jackie--and everyone else--HEY!

Hmmm my biggest temptation, there are so many . .

I guess it is pizza because sometimes I get a craving and I will eat an entire pie all by my self! The best way to deal is to make a pizza on WW pita. It seems to fill the need for me.

Have a great OP day everyone!

Argh....I am way behind in catching up again :( I better get started now...lol. Jess is at school today until 2pm as she wanted to stay later to have lunch with her friends. It sure feel strange when she is not around yakking my ears off...lol.

I am waiting for my brown rice to cook and also marinating my salmon as well so thought I come here to do some catching up before it's time to do the real cooking. My menu today :

Breakfast : Before taking Jess to school, I had 1/2 cup of milk and 1/4 of banana to keep my blood sugar from getting too low. After sending her to school, I had 1 ww waffle with Agave and 1 fried egg.

Snack : The leftover banana and some nuts. I might have 1/2 cup of milk while waiting for lunch to get ready.

Lunch : Baked salmon in ginger dressing, roasted marinated broccoli and brown rice pilaf.

Snack : Some grapes, nuts and 1/2 cup of milk.

Dinner : Leftover lasagna and mixed green salad.

Some replies :

TECH : Cute little puppy you have there. Jess would love to have all kind of animals if I allow her...lol but I know someday she will have her own pet when she can take care of it. I have enough on my hands for now :)

GATOR : Glad to see you and thanks for keeping us updated on how you are doing. Wow...you sure have a lot on your hands, take it easy :)

JACK : Reading your post made me tired. That was a lot of work in one day...at least for me...lol. Washing one car is enough to wear me out..lol.

SARAH : I am so sorry what your dd has to go thru. After reading your post, I did some research about hernia. I had no idea what it was until now. No matter how much you know your dd will be okay but I know you will worry. That's just the way mothers are :) I will pray for your dd and that she will be in good hands on some wonderful drs :)

PANCHO : I am so sorry to hear about your friend's grandma who is diagnosed with cancer. Cancer is never a word that is easy to hear. My prayers go out the family concern.

TONI : Spring is so beautiful isn't it? I bet your yard looks so awesome. Can you believe that I have yet to eat any strawberry since Spring arrived? I need to get some soon.

Got to go...will continue later.

Julia

Howdy ya'll! I would say my biggest challenge or temptation would be chips. The only way I can avoid not eating too many is to basically not touch them. It seems like such an easy things to stay away from I love the salt and crunch of them. If I am stressed I will have half the bag gone before I know it.
The new food this week is Monkfish. It's a lot like lobster in taste and texture. We rubbed it with lemon thyme and lemon balm. We also used some salt. Cooked it on the grill. Next time we are going to make a creole out of it. The man at the meat market told us about it when we were looking for our tilapia. He is ordering us a 15 pound box of tilapia. For 2.99 a pound mama and I thought we could split a box.

Monet....hang in there. Maybe with a little extra water today the extra pounds will flush away. Sorry to hear about your cars. I know what a pain it is. Robert's truck is down so he has my car today.

Susan...that's totally awesome that you are having to work at eating all your points. It sounds like you are having great portion control.

Tech...isn't it neat to have a physical example of how much weight you've loss. At first I had lost the equivilent to both of my smaller children but they've grown in the last few years...LOL I've lost more than my 10 year old weights... :) Your puppy is too cute! We have four dogs. I don't know about your breed but our two larger dogs are major chewers! The lab has outgrown it but not the georgia blood hound. She is trying me...LOL The worse thing that she does is steal off of the counter and stove. None of our other dogs have done that. Robert makes the dogs behave. They aren't allowed to beg or jump on you. But they are also very spoiled. They all sit for their treats. Are allowed on the bed when we invite them. It's a lot of work. They are truly like children.

Sebray..I am so jealous. Every day I say I'm gonna get to bed earlier are sleep in some. ((hugzz)) I'm glad you had a chance to rest. After school and family it's good to get some extra rest.

Teensy....((hugzz)) How long has it been since you lost your daddy?

Arcayne...hang in there.

Gator...I hope things work out for your daughter. My hubby had never held down a job for very long before he and I got together. He has worked the same job for 8 or 9 years now and is supervisor. He went from single dad to married with five kids in less than two years and never looked back. :) A blessing for sure. I hope you all have a fantastic trip.

Bob...((hugzz)) I'm so sorry you are not feeling well again. I hope you are able to enjoy that wonderful dinner you are cooking.

Julia...I'm way behind today myself. Not only with the board but my chores. Hope you have a great day.

Jack-K...as always you are an inspiration. You are one busy lady.

I know I am forgetting someone but I do need to get moving before they roll my chair with me in it out of here...LOL

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Good afternon!

I started this post 2 hours ago. Then had to go watch the new Pope be elected and then lunch so here I am.

We got our 3 miles in last night. Also go my wts in. I have decied to try to get up 1/2 hour early in the morning and work out so I don't have to walk and workout at nights. With the pretty weather, we like to do things outdoors. I did get up this morning and worked out for 33 minutes. Now if I can just drag my lazy butt out of the bed every morning, it will work.

Have to run to the hospital tonight (good thing I worked out already). My aunt fell Sat and insisted on having a CAT scan. My sister took her to the hospital last night. I think we are getting tired of all this responsiblity with her. Especially my sister.

BOB, Have you had a physical lately? Maybe there is something amiss in your GI tract. Did you eat out last Friday for your birthday. Maybe something you are eating is not agreeing or you are allergic. Feel better soon. Hope Kate quits itching soon.

Gator, sounds like you got alot accomplished too.

Monet, you poor thing, more car trouble added to the plumbing problems. I don't "plant" I don't like worms. So I watch DH do it and I water them. At least I did something.

Cindy, you are so right. I whole key is not to overdo it. Why can't we learn that? Do you all have low carb pizzas where you live. We have a Bearno's which makes one without any crust (cheese is the crust). So really it is only toppings. We love it. I can't tell the difference. Have you tried making ww ones at home?

Arcayne, you can get right back on track and start fresh. You can do it. You were doing so well. Is that sweet boy from Canada a boyfriend or client?

Teensy, funny how memories kick in when you least expect them. They hurt, but also warm your heart. Get some rest.

Tech:  WTG on moving the ticker. On tht show the Biggest Loser they had people run a race with a weighted vest that carried the amount of wt they had lost. No wonder our heart likes us better when we lose.

Sebray, that's one way not to gain weights, just sleep through meals. You are going to make yourself sick.

Sarah, hope your aunt's surgery goes well. Don't you hate it when you have such good plans and someone else messes them up? Sounds like you did fine though.

Gator, Wow! you really got some steps in yesterday. I have to get my pedometer back out and set it up. I hate measuring off the step thing.

Susan, That was the trouble I had with WW. Couldn't eat all the food. I could probably do better now that SB has widened my horizons some. Glad it is working for you.

Toni, there is something about budding trees that puts my in a good mood.

Nat, sorry about your friend. Cancer is such a beast.

Ken, I like to keep busy. I can't stand to sit around. I got home last night at 5:30, walked 3 miles, fixed dinner, cleaned up that mess, ran to the office supply store, went to the tanning bed for 15 minutes, came home, worked out with wts, made lunches, colored my hair and sat down at 9:00. I felt like I got alot accomplished.

Have a great day. Good luck to everyone on the scale tomorrow.

Country, we were posting at the same time. Chips are a problem for me. Really anything salty. I just don't buy them. Lots of time I really crave cheetos. I guess we need to learn to eat the snack size bag and not the jumbo size. Have a great day.

Cheetos and cheeze nips don't stand a chance around me. I do not buy them anymore. Chips I still buy for the kiddos and hubby. To be honest just reading about them makes me want them. Isn't that silly?

Love and hugs,

Fillise, We are leaving exactly one week after you. We will be 2 1/2 weeks in southern France at the house we rented, and then 1 week in Tuscany at a cooking school. Right now I don’t remember the name of the town this is our home base for the school, but it is just south of Firenze (Florence) and also near Sienna. I used to live in northern Italy and it is beautiful up there with all the quaint little villages. Venice is just great and you are going at a good time, beating the biggest crush of tourists. It is a wonderful place for walking (natch--beccause there are no cars, just boats) and is best seen on foot rather than from the water. The food is good there too, and if you get off the main squares away from the tourists you can find some fabulous restaurants. They specialize in seafood. We will be in Tuscany the first week of June.

Got over 12000 steps in so far. I think that the pedometer registers when I drive on a bumpy road, so probably have closer to 11500 actual steps by foot!! I have eaten an apple today, and have had a glass of fresh squeezed veggie juice (mostly carrots, with apple, lemon, ginger and celery. I also had a roast beef sandwich on 2 slices of SGWW bread. I think I will stir fry some broccoli and have that and a salad for dinner. I have to be at class tonight by 6:45, so eating is problamatic on Tuesdays and Thursdays (evening classes) My poor DH fends for himself those nights.

Hmmm. What is a temptation for me? I don’t buy chips or normally have “bad” stuff in the house. Since it’s just me and my DH, that’s easy to do. But when we go out to eat, I normally love to have dessert. I just feel like “I deserve it” and since we’re out, might as well “celebrate.” How do I overcome this? If I have a good enough meal, then I don’t feel deprived if I don’t have dessert. So the key is ordering well.

Monet--I agree, get a new car and give DD your old one, and have her buy it from you.

I got to recite my poem from memory in class today. I think I am the only one so far that has already memorized my poem. The prof said I did fine, and I think I will jazz it up a week from Thursday with real wine. He said that he would drink some if I brought it.

Gotta go. Hope every one has a great day.

JACK: Wow...two days to elect a new pope must be some kind of record! Doesn't it usually take them a long time...like a week or more? What do you think of Pope Benedict XVI? I was not surprised he was not Italian! :) I went to Yahoo and read the lead article about him. Sounds like he is firm, but kind. I hope he is as wonderful as the man he replaces.

Evening everyone! Just finished up dinner, which turned out good. We had shrimp, broccoli, and brown rice Udon. It was a shrimp in garlic sauce recipe. It had broccoli in it, and green onions and water chestnuts. Yum! It was a new recipe, so I met that challlenge for the week! If anyone wants the recipe, let me know, and I can post it.

Tom is off getting oil for Laura's car, which was very low. Grrr...she is so bad about that kind of stuff! She drove it while it was overheating when she first got the car, and the motor had to be rebuilt. I hope they can get it to the repair shop. Tom is trying a new place that specializes in Hondas. The one really close to us could not look at it until Monday...that was totally unacceptable, so he is taking it to another place farther away, which will be tricky since it doesn't go far before the motor dies.

TECH: Go read Dr. Mercola's article about how bad for you Girl Scout cookies are! They are loaded with trans fats! You don't want any of that unhealthy stuff in your body! Trust me! (just send them to me...I will take care of them for you..especially the Thin Mints and tagalongs....)

GATOR: I would love to give my car to Laura and get a new one. Can't afford it though. She is looking for a used Toyota Celica to buy and is saving her money, so I hope she finds one soon. If they can fix her Honda, we can always use another car if she finds one soon. James' car needs to be trashed, so he can drive her old car, which we own anyway. I am sure its hard to deal with watching your daughter make what you can see is an obvious mistake. A friend of ours was married to the man who was head of Navigators for the southeast, and she was very wise. She once told me to accept that all I could do for my kids was pray. Once they were past the spanking stage, you really can only pray for them. I always felt guilty when my kids made dumb choices, feeling like I had not taught them well, but she assured me it was not up to me. I will be praying for your daughter, and for you. God can turn it around, just watch Him! <hugs>

Wow we had another day in the 80's but rain is heading our way so the temps should go down a bit. Talked to my mom last night and they had been at the dr yesterday getting the results of my dads recent lung scan ( he has idiopathy (sp) pulmonary fibrosis) and it wasnt good news. The scar tissue has spread. Its very hard to watch your parent go from a strong , vibrant person one month to using a walker and barley can catch their breath the next.
I was looking forward to a week this week of working 4 days 9 hours and getting off half day friday...and that got stomped on. We were told we have 15-20 hours OT between this week and next and noone can have the half day off. Oh well. .. but the good news is I have vacation days Monday and Tuesday so I do get a 4 day weekend !! Yeah!!
Hope everyone is having a great week. Ive been working very hard with my exercises. Ill see if tomorrow brings any changes.
Oh and my new recipe I tried for the week was the turkey meatloaf and I dont think Ill make it again. It wasnt very good.

Sebray- your making me tired reading your post lol thats dedicated though to stay up all night with no sleep !

Tech- I remember doing that with a bag of dog food once. Its amazing how our bodies can even carry a little bit of extra weight.

Sarah- hope you can find a in network dr for your dd. Sure will help $$ wise.

Gatorgal- way to go on the 15,000 + steps ! Ive been getting over 10,000 most days now. I think it really helps keeping track cause I notice I do more to make sure I can get as much as I can in.

Jack-k- sounds like you have a good plan for exercising in the morning. When I used to go into work at 7am ( I now am there by 6am) I used to do that and It worked out great but cant seem to do it having to get up and hour earlier for work.

Hi to- Fillise, Kengjw, Crystle and Bob, sorry if I forgot anyone :)

Tuesday menu
b- protein shake with 1 tbl coconut oil
s- mixed veges 1/2 cup

Gator: im taking the second sememster of french (1020) to fulfill my high school deficincy.....only had a year and a half in HS and need 2 years for college :(

Susan: well at least im not the only one losing days :) its so much nicer to have a compainion in your confusion

ok page loaded...back to replies :)

Crystle: its funny but i didnt realize how utterly exhausted i was...i had only planned on taking a nap till about 7 or so and stay up till 9 or 10 and go back to bed so i wouldnt mess up my schedual....but i didnt hear the alarm or kevin kissing on me to wake me up lol...so he just let me sleep.....strange how u dont realized how stressed/tired you are until you have time to unwind/rest.

Jack: i know i know ill make myself sick like that...but im almost done with the semester and i can start eating healthier again and exercising on a regular basis.....my physical health is never really affected by my sleep habits....but my mental health goes haywire....i really should be on my bi-polar meds durring school to keep my mood swings down, but i have to say, being manic REALLY helps me study

Tech: PASS THOSE COOKIES TO ME!!!!!!!

Cindy: im really sorry to hear about ur dad...is it something he can recover from? (sorry lack of sleep has screwed with my memory lol)

now did anyone hear that prince charles is taking camilla to the same place he took dianna for their honeymoon!?!?!?!?!?!?

What a tiring day today. For some reasons, I am extremely tired today so my day has been quite lazy. Anyway, here are some more replies :

BOB : Glad Kate is doing better. My goodness....you need a big break from any sickness. I hope you are feeling better by now. {{hugs}}} Jess is in a Kindermusik program which has a little of music, dance, play and lots of fun. It is only for 45 mins each week and the parents get to participate the last 15 mins. She loves it! Her teacher told me that Jess has very good music sense and how much she seems to catch on to melody etc. Dh and I hope to encourage the "music" side of her when she is ready to take other music/dance class, something she likes. My pregnancy is going good and definitely moving much faster than my last pregnancy. This Friday, I am going to have another ultrasound. I am really nervous about it as this time, we will get to see how much the baby has grown and if there is any birth defects etc. I believe this is the ultrasound to find out the gender of the baby as well. We are still not sure if we will but I am leaning towards wanting to know. Will see how things go this Friday.

CINDY : Love you new haircut and highlights! You have pretty face too :) I love pizza too...most starch actually :) I am so sorry to hear about your dad's diagnosis. I will keep them in my prayers.

ARCAYNE : Sorry you had a bad week. Hope this week is much better :)

TEENSY : Glad your mom found her car. Poor dh has to see two women crying at the same time....lol, men and crying women doesn't go together...lol.

TECH : You are getting there, keep working at it!! Good job! Stay away from those cookies!! Double, triple look at your mini goal, you are getting close. Monet is so right....you don't want those bad stuff in your system.

SARAH : I have UHC as well and have to agree with you on how good they are. Hope your find the right surgeon that is in the network.

FILLISE : The weather is beautiful too except the heat is starting to get to me...lol.

COUNTRY : I have yet to try monkfish but would love to try it if I find it at my local grocery store. I know they call it, poor man's lobster...lol.

JACK : I really need to do more but I am not. My dh is like you, he can't sit still and try to do as much as he can and he feels more productive that way. See how opposite attracts...lol.

MONET : I love shrimp and garlic, so that sounds like a recipe for me, please post! Hope Laura's car get fixed soon. {{{hugs}}}

SEBRAY : I wish I can say I love school but I don't. I sure admire your dedication to your education.

That's from me tonight. Night all.

Good evening ladies....

Been another busy day. Started out with my 3 mile walk......finally back up there!! Got the sectional shampooed and the living room carpet. They look great!! I can't believe how well they cleaned up. Sure makes it all worthwhile. Tomorrow I will get the hallway and the computer room done. We pulled up half of the carpet in our bedroom a couple of weeks ago and are planning on putting down some wood laminate flooring so I don't think I will waste my time and clean the half that is left down. We will just be pulling it up soon anyway.

Eating was on plan today yeah!! It feels good to be able to say that!!

1/2 grapefruit before 3 mile walk--

B-- 1/2 c Fiber One, 1/4 c ff milk, cinnamon, 1 Splenda, Lite 85 yogurt.
s-- apple
L--2 slices turkey breast on 1 small ww tortilla, 1/2 bowl of stew minus the potatoes.
s-- orange, 1 oz peanuts
D-- grilled chicken breast, 1/2 c summer squash, 1/2 stirfry veggies, 1/2 c sf pudding.
s-- thinnest slice of ww bread I could cut with a thin layer peanutbutter and sf jam.

BOB-- Sorry to hear about Kate's troubles. Drugs are funny things......that's why I try to avoid taking them. I very seldom take anything, only when I am dying, lol!! And when I pulled the muscles in my back. I have never had anything hurt so bad!!

Sarah-- I have absolutely NO talent......I was painting my house, lol!! I envy your dh if he is that talented. He should definitely be painting!!

Tech-- Guess what? You lucked out......I don't think ESD shed!! We have friend who just had to have theirs put down due to old age and severe arthiritis. She was a wonderful dog. We all have boats and would spend our summer together camping out with all our dogs.Total was 1 ESD, 1 full size black Poodle, 4.... yes, I said 4 Bassethounds, and my sweet Buddy, who is a Shar Pei and Chow mix. Chelsea (ESD) was up at dawn and in the water swimming and splashing around. She was the most well behaved and friendliest dog I have ever seen. We will miss her. I can see why your dh wanted one. Congrats on your new baby, because that is exactly what puppies are, and I hope that you will come to love it as such.

Monet-- Sorry that you are now the one with the car problems. Deb seemed to have her share and now unfortunately it is your turn. Keep your chin up!!

Gator-- I am what you would call my Mother's mouth piece. My Dad did most everything when he was alive, like buying the cars, handling the insurances and taxes and such while my Mom ran the house......now I do it for her. I don't want to see someone take advantage of her or have them make her feel inadequate. She has made tremendous strides since my Dad passed away and I am very proud of what she has accomplished. Up until now, I was the only one living here close to her. Last year my sister Shirley moved up here from Boise Idaho, and now my brother, although he lived here was working out of town for the last 4 years is now working here again. So it will be nice to have them around to help. We plowed her snow and tilled her garden and whatever we could do to help. She really tries to be independent now, sometimes too much so!!

Keng-- Your menu's alway sound so good. Want to come and cook for me??

Country-- My Dad passed away Dec 2 1999 from lung cancer. It still seems like yesterday though. He was a big part of my life. He was the one that kept all of the family together. The reason why we have our weekly potlucks and do so many family things. It is very hard still for me (being the oldest) and my Mom. Thanks for the hugs!!

Jackie-- I get up early in the mornings to get my exercise in and I love it! There is just something about starting my day with exercise that makes me feel like I have really accomplished something.

Cindy-- We just started having some nice weather too. I am planning on getting my house finished tomorrow and then I am going to start working in my yard. Lots of my flowers are already in bloom. Mostly just my early bulbs, but it still looks great! Dh mowed the front yard this afternoon so it is about time for me to get my self out there and get my beds cleaned up. I love Spring!!

Well gang, this tired puppy is going to hit the hay early tonight! See in in Manyana (sp)!!

As for WIW, I am down two of the four pounds, so the water weight is better, but not totally gone. I am contemplating doing the detox diet again but thinking I ought to wait until May 1, since the 30th of April is my big festival. Its only a week and half away!

Tom got Laura's car to the mechanic last night...it stalled out a few times, but hopefully they will be able to fix it. It might need a new carburetor. I just hope it doesn't cost too much and is fixed by this afternoon!

I hope you are all a big bunch of losers today! :) I am off to find some breakfast....

It sure was good.

I am actually cold this morning! Such a lovely feeling. I like the cool mornings, when it warms up in the afternoon. All the windows are open and the birds are singing loudly. They are probably warning each other that my silly cat is on the prowl. He hates being inside. :)

Good morning...

Hope everyone have a good start today. Nothing much planned for today except doing a little shopping at another store which has great bargains which I only go to stock up on some items once every 2 weeks. I really need to clean the house and do laundry too...sighhh, this part I am really not looking forward to.

Oh....HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU BOB!!!!!! I hope your special day today will be as special as you imagine it to be. My one wish for you right now is that you have a good health for a long long time....how about not even a cold :) Enjoy your day :)

My menu for today :

Breakfast : 1 low carb ww pita stuff with chicken patti, cheese and some ketchup...lol. I love ketchup....lol. 1/2 cup of milk an hour before I was ready to have my breakfast.

Snack : Grapes.

Lunch : Tofu and chicken curry, sauteed veggies (not sure what yet) and basmati rice.

Snack : Fruit, nuts and 1/2 cup of milk.

Dinner : No idea right now.

Some replies :

SEBRAY : 8 pages?? I salute!!! lol. Glad you had fun writing that paper. I know it is much easier when you enjoyed writing it.

TEENSY : Maybe we can make a deal. I cook for you while you clean for me...LOL. I can imagine ow good smelling and clean your house is. I wish I can say the same for my house :(

MONET : Glad the water weight is finally coming off. I am sure it will keep falling :) Your breakfast sounds yummy :)

TECH : Do you still have Samoas? Get them out of your house!!! LOL.

FILLISE : Hello there, hope you have a good day :)

That's for now...will check in later.

Good morning:

I don't have time for replies today. I have to leave in a few hours, and drop Lane off at Dad's work, and then I am off to my new gyn appt. I sure hope they are able to figure out what's going on. I feel like I am falling apart. I think I might be having a problem with my right kidney. I feel a dull ache in my right side under my rib cage. Also, some nights when I sleep on my right side, I get a bad pain, and it feels like a weighted ball on my right side (in the same area), and it is difficult to roll back over. I don't know if that is anything a gyn can look at; if not I'll have to wait until I see my regular doctor for my physical in June.

Anyway, I did get to the gym early this morning. It was 48 degrees when I left; a little nippy. The days have been in the mid-high 80's. It's been beautiful.

I did weigh 120.5# this morning; so I am maintaining somehow. I can't say I've been eating perfectly. I had a great dinner last night though. I had one of my (Deb's) homemade pitas, and topped it with some pizza sauce, cheese, onions, tomatoes, yellow peppers, mushrooms, black olives & avocado. It was filling and was delicious!

I have to go get some stuff together for Lane to take to Daddy's work with her, so I better wrap it up.

Take care, and have a great OP day!

Happy birthday BOB! yay, I love birthdays!!!

Okay,short one this morning..afternoon..whatever...

My DD was at our neighbor's house this morning whilst my DS was at school...all the while I had my icky root canal...so, then I find out that I need to go back next week so they can finish..and THEN I need to go to an orthodontist so I can have my permanent bottom retainer (from braces, circa 1990s) removed and then get this tooth capped! Horrid! It is a bit painful now...dentist gave me an antibiotic and some darvocet. Like those pain meds sometimes..however, I prefer percocet or tylox! hahaha!!!

Talk to you all later.

To all the fellow RCs in our little group...how bout our new pope? I saw it live yesterday..and then tivo'd it for my DH.

Checking in....I went for a walk, and it was actually pleasant. The cat was upset I was leaving our yard, but thankfully this time he did not try to follow me.

I ate lunch when I got back from walking. Instead of the ham sandwich I thought I wanted, I forced myself to have a salad with ham in it instead. I had bread with my breakfast, and I need to eat less grains, I think. I actually enjoyed the salad. I need to remind myself of this often, and maybe it will become a habit.

So, here is the lunch menu:
Large salad of romaine, tomatoes, black olives, wheat sprouts, radish sprouts, (both homegrown and delicious!) four slices of ham, baby carrots, with lite bleu cheese dressing.

FILLISE: :cheer: You are doing great! Get in some walking, and its going to just drop off!

PANCHO: I hope that pain you are feeling is not your right ovary! Let us know what the new GYN says. Praying it all goes well!

KENG: Isn't the weather gorgeous? I need to post that recipe for you! I will do that after I finish up here.

Ok, sorry, that is all I can remember, and I hit the wrong button, :o so I will do more replies later! :(

SARAH: We were posting at the same time! I hope your root canal heals very quickly! Mouth pain is no fun! I never can eat a bite when my mouth hurts. How do you like the new Pope? :balloons: Hope your day is great BOB. You're the nicest UT fan I know.

Monet--Thanks for your helpful advice and encouragement re. my DD. It is sad to see someone not see reality. As I mentioned before, too many women think that THEY are different and that THIS won't happen to them because THEY will just be able to fix the boyfriend. Ten years later they wake up and face reality. It is sad.

Sebray--Hope you do well on your science paper.

Boy, I had all the replies memorized and now can't remember what people wrote on the board. I'll have to go back to my habit of typing everything in a word program and copying and pasting.

Pancho--I hope your doctor's appt. goes really well and they end up giving you encouraging news, and actually working WITH you instead of trying to force you to do everything their way. Hope they can help with the pain/kidney problem too. Hang in there.

Sarah--Sounds like you did great at the dentist's. The hardest part is keeping your mouth open for such a long period of time. Especially if you have a small mouth. My jaw always gets achey because of that. Good luck on the future dentist visits.

I worked today so only got in about 1.5 miles of my walk this morning. So far only 6400 steps, but my Dh will be home for dinner tonight (actually I will be home because I don't have French class tonight!!) and we probably will take a walk after dinner. Still aiming for my 10000-12000 steps. I had such a craving for a no-no after I left work today. I was tired and feeling a little "down" about the cost of having the top to my car (a convertible) repaired ($1600!!!!). I would have loved to have had a nice creamy thick something to drink and could have easily driving right by a place that fixes those by hand (I won't mention the word so as not to tempt anyone else!) It would have been soooo easy, and yummy. But I have been working hard at eating properly. So I gutted it out and got over the hump and came home and fixed a big iced tea with lemon and sweetener instead. It's almost as good and I feel good about it.

Maybe my more tempting time with something is ANYTHING that is sweet and available when I'm "down" even a little bit and want a lift. I don't know how to be successful EVERY time in solving that. Anyone have a plan that has worked for them?

Food today:
Breakfast--2 scrambled eggs, 1 sl SGWW toast with 1 tsp butter and 1/2 tsp no sugar jelly, 1 whole ugli fruit (like a orange/grapefruit--color of an orange--my fav. fruit)
Lunch--Salad with lettuce, tomato, onion, broccoli, carrots, roast beef, cottage cheese and lo cal dressing. Bite of cheesecake!! Oops.
Handful of nuts.
Snack--Iced tea.
Dinner will be sauteed tilapia, brown rice and fresh green beans.

Congrats, Fillise, on the weight loss.

Gotta go.

Congrats to all you losers!! I can't remember to step on the scales before I put something in my mouth!! ha ha. Really I overslept this morning.......must have been tired! So I hurried to get dressed and out the door for my walk. Took the pups with me for the first time since Buddy's surgery. Only walked them 1/2 mile then dh came in the truck and picked them up. They were happy campers!!

Finished the carpets this afternoon. So now it is time to get in gear and get outside. Tomorrow I have a Dr appointment first thing in the morning and then have to go pick up Mom's new car. Hopefully I can get some weeding done in the afternoon. My beds are a disaster area right now. But maybe not......might spend the day riding around in her new ride!! She doesn't like to drive in town so I will be behind the wheel!!!

B-- 1/2 c Fiber One, 1/4 c ff milk, cinnamon, 1 Splenda, Lite 85 yogurt.
s-- apple
L-- turkey, pepperjack lc wrap, 1/2 c ff cottage cheese, 1/2 sweet red pepper, 2 sf Nips.
s-- orange
D-- Cube steak, roasted asparagus, 1/2 sweet red pepper
dessert-- 1/2 c sf ice cream

That's it for now.....will try to get back here this evening.

My mom says my dad is worse today. I just hope hes not heading back to the hospital. He just got out about 3 weeks ago. I think that was his 3-4-5th time in since last November. Sebray- There is no cure for pulmonary fibrosis. It just keeps getting worse. In his case he has scar tissue in the lungs and it just keeps spreading. Hes talking now of going up to Ann arbor Mi for a second opinion. I dont know how he will handle traveling that far but hes a man and you cant tell him anything. Hope you all are have a great day.

Just a quick fly by... The Honda specialist told Tom the car needs carburetor work, which they don't do! So, he has to take it to a place much farther away. Tonight, when he went over to get it, they had locked it inside their fence, so he could not get it. Grr. He had called them and left a message 40 minutes before they closed, and it was not because he owed $$! So it looks like they will have to go take it over there tomorrow. Or get Laura to do it. I flat out refuse! I have SO much to do tomorrow!

Dinner was country 'fried' steak, made with ww flour, onions, and beef base, a low carb potato, and broccoli. For an after dinner snack I had a mango and an orange. I think the mango may be higher GI than acceptable, but I love them, and I guess it was at least a nutritious cheat! :)

Tom was not able to work on the plumbing tonight. He did mow some of the lawn, which really needed it. Poor guy has more to do than he can get done!

CINDY: Do you make your protein drinks with milk? If so, maybe dairy stalls your weight loss, as I see you have cheese a lot too. Other than that, you menu looks great. Just a thought on the dairy...I know I do better off it, but that is not true of everyone.

PANCHO: I hope you tell us about the new doc tomorrow!

TEENSY: Enjoy that new vehicle! The best thing is you can have fun driving it and you did not have to pay for it!

BOB: Where are you, birthday girl? All these messages...I hope you at least pop on to read them all!

Night all!

First, I want to wish you a Happy Birthday, Narda!!

I don't have much time to post. I need to start getting on the computer more than once or twice a week, so that I have time to post instead of sifting thru alot of emails. Okay, Boogie's bday party was Saturday and I went all and out and binged the ENTIRE weekend. Of course, I was miserable and extremely puffy and bloated Monday morning. Never did I expect what I saw on the scale that morning. 174. Yep, haven't seen that number in a year. That scared the crap out of me, and knocked some sense into me,lol. I've been drinking lots of water and been good with my eating ever since. Today I was at 166, still 7 above my low of 159. But I'm feeling better and just glad that it's going back down again. I feel a little guilty though. I made taco salad tonight. All legal, but fattening and starchy since I ate triscuits(7) with it. Hope it doesn't reflect on the scale tomorrow. Boogie is officially 5 tomorrow. Hard to believe. He had a great party Saturday. Well, that's all I have time to post...

Fillese- Good going on the loss.

Pancho- ya, know, ovarian cysts can cause back pain. That's how I found out I had them. Maybe it's all female-related and can be solved or made alot better without drastic measures such as surgery.

Monet- what's the recipe for your chile relleno casserole? Sounds good.

Just a quickie stop in. First night with Junior was SUPERB! Well, for me, anyway. Hubby had to sleep on the couch with Junior on one of my afghans under the coffee table. He kept panting and whining all night until he brought him downstairs. I think he was scared and missed his dog mom and dad. But so far so good!! NO ACCIDENTS!! Knock on wood!! I took some pics and will post them later on. I have to take him to the vet for a look-see and have to take him for a walk first with the kids!! :D He's sooo cute!! We just love him!!

Good morning ladies.

Back to the world or real work today. I spent yesterday at our job trailer packing up drawings, etc. I was tired last night and still had to go to bunco.

But it is always fun. I was good. We ate salads before I went. Normally this lady doesn't have dinner food, but she did. I only had 1/2 a a chicken salad croissant and 2 strawberries. She had Boston cream pie for dessert and I passed. happily the scale was down another pound today. I am so excited to be out of the 170's. I want to say I never want to see that number again but I know the fluctuations of the scale, so I need to get a few more pounds to disapear before I say that.

Tonight we get to go to a big grand opening gala for the Churchill Downs race track. My company did the 122 million dolalr renovation. It's for the big wigs, like the mayor, govenor, etc. It will be fun.

I did manage to get the tm in last night and worked out before work yesterday too. I was so tired this morning I couldn't get up and work out as I didn't get to sleep until after 2:00. I am so keyed up after bunco, I can never sleep.

I haven't had time to read the posts so will have to do replies after I can some work done here.

Monet, how do you fix the country fried steak? What kind of steak do you use?

Be back later.

Just checking in before I get started on a busy day. Got my 2 mile walk in this morning--5400 steps for 2 miles. Ate a good breakfast (sh. wheat with berries and skimmed milk. ) I have my last regular class out at the university today and I think he is going to pronounce wine names for us. Too bad he did not have us pronouncing aloud all the names or even reading aloud all the poems this semester. I would have learned a lot more. I have to meet with my "mentee" today and then have my new French class tonight, so won't be home until after 9. busy, busy day.

BOB, you must have been partying a lot yesterday. Tell us all about it.

Tech, you sound very smart letting your DH sleep with the dog and take care of his whining. Gotta get 'em trained right from the start!! :) Hope your OESD turns out to be a great family pet, as I'm sure it will be.

Jackie--You are close to a 100 pound loss. Great going.

See y'all tomorrow.

Morning everyone! I've been up and working hard already this morning--this is a quick break for me.

Another gorgeous day here!!!! I'm loving this weather!:D

I heard from BOB last night and she assured me that she had a good birthday. I know she appreciates everyone's good wishes.

Jackie--That sounds like quite a do tonight--enjoy!

Gator-- Vino Russo and Vino Blanco are all I'm told I need to get wine in Italy-- I'm looking forward to the end of the semester too. I'v got projects coming in the night before I leave. There are only four and I've seen drafts of the work before, so I can give it a grade and get them posted in an hour or two.

Monet--Poor Tom, he just can't catch a break can he? I hope y'all can get the car today.

Heart--Hmmm, we've talked about those weekend binges before, haven't we?????

Teensy--good work on the dog!

Cindy--Goodness you should be tired after a schedule like that!

Hey to everyone else. I'v got to get back to work. I hope everyone has a great OP day!

Just a fly by here....

I have been busy this morning. I had a million emails to reply to, most about the arts festival next weekend. Its only going to get worse before its over! :) Then I went to Costco, and friends, I am in BIG trouble! They had an organic granola in a big bag there, with only 5 grams of sugar per serving, and dry bananas and nuts in it. I am a granola freak, so I bought a bag, and its delicious! I already had two or three servings, and I need to go hide it so I don't eat more.

Breakfast was two eggs (instead of three! I am trying to cut down!) 4 bacon, ww English Muffin with Polaner all fruit.
Snack: orange
Lunch: too much granola in milk

JACK: I used cubed steak for the country fried steak. I just lightly flour it and brown it with some chopped onions in olive oil, once its brown, I add any leftover flour, and water to cover, and a tablespoon of instant beef base (buillion will do) and simmer it for 15-20 minutes, or longer. Its very easy, fast and tasty. It would be great served on brown rice.

Ok, I have to run to the Party City store and try and find clear cups with lids. So far, I have not been able to find them at Costco, or Sam's. Bubble tea just HAS to be in a clear cup! We may have to go with ones without lids!

I'm a day late but my WIW which is actually from this morning is 156. A nice surprise since I haven't been able to walk much this week. Hopefully Jess and I will get out the next few days.

Jack-K...woo hoo on getting out of the 170's!! All your hard work is paying off for sure.

Tech...awww how sweet that he slept near the pup. And it's good you didn't put him in your bed. We've done that before and trust me those big dogs can take up a lot of space once they are grown.

Susan...enjoy that beautiful weather. Isn't this time of year the greatest.

Heart...It's hard to believe Boogie is going to be five already. They grow so fast. I bet you will be back to your low before you know it.

Cindy...praying for you daddy. I know it has to be hard on ya'll. Hopefully the other hospital can offer ya'll some new treatment.

Teensy...you are one busy beaver. Thanks for reminding me about your daddy. I thought we had lost our daddy's the same way. My daddy lost his battle to lung cancer back in 1990.

Mama just called and she is fixing to take me to the largest dollarstore in the world..woohoo!!! Gotta run. Sorry for not getting to everyone.

Love and hugs,

I wanted to tell you about some new things I have found.

South Beach has a cereal out that is a whole grain crunch. It is made with ww flour and puff wheat and almonds. Has 4 grams of sugar. It is really good.

Also Pillsbury makes a ww dinner roll in the frozen bread section. They are pretty good. Something to go with spaghetti or salads. Plus you can fix as many or few as you want.

Got a minute to make replies now.

Tech, so glad you are enjoying your new dog. Gotta train that DH along with the dog

Heart, sometimes it takes a big gainto shock us back on tract. Hope it works for you. Happy birthday to Boogie. Time sure flies when they are young.

Gator, that sad thing is I had already lost 105 lbs to put 20 back on. Ugh! Determined to get to goal this time. But it is hard being on the tamoxifen. The pounds won't budge. Maybe you should find a new legal comfort food when you need that lift. Maybe some SF candy or dessert.

Susan, we are having wonderful weathr, but it is coming to a halt soon. This weekend, they are predicting low 50's and mid 30's at night. Maybe some snow flurries. :fr:

Monet, thanks for the recipe, I will have to try it.

Cindy, prayers that your DD doesn't get any worse and gets much better.

Teensy, how's your mom's new car? I love getting a new car. I don't think I can ever own another regular car after owning a van and then a SUV. I like sitting up high.

Sebray, glad things are slowing dow for you some.

Country, don't spend too many dollars at the big store. Congrats on the scale. Wish I could catch you.

ken, Nat, & anyone else I missed, hope you are having a great day.

have a great day!

Aye yie yie...where do I start???

First of all, Good morning!!

Lane is watching Dora on Nick Jr., and I just heard a pleasantly surprising commercial (sponsored by Nick). It said that too much sugar is not good for anyone. It said that sugar is tricky and you have to know how to read ingredients because it can sneak into ketchup and juices and other foods. They said to look for stuff such as sucrose, maltose, dextrose, glucose, etc....It said look for the words that end in ose, which rhymes with gross! This was a commercial geared toward children, and was so nice to hear that someone is getting a clue!

I have made a decision...I only drink 3-4 diet sodas a week, but I think that is probably 3-4 too many. I don't let my kids drink soda, and I am setting a poor example by drinking it myself. Britt will have a Dr. Pepper if she is at a party or something, or she will order a Shirley Temple if we go out to dinner (once in a blue moon). I have only a few left, and when they are gone, I am not going to buy anymore. THERE IS 0 NUTRITION in a soda, and the carbonation is not good for us either. Plus, with the diet sodas, I'm drinking the artificial sweeteners, which I want to get away from altogether.

I was at 121#'s today, and am glad it's not worse. I allowed myself to get way too hungry yesterday, and didn't eat lunch until after 3 p.m. and totally splurged. I went to Taco Bell and had a Mexican pizza and a shredded chicken soft taco. I oinked it down in record time too. I ate BF, and a snack and planned to grab a nutritious lunch on my way to pick up Britt from school, but the doctor's appt. went way toooo long.

Anyhow, I dropped Lane off at her dad's work around 11:30, and then went to my 12:30 dr. appt. (they asked me to be there are 12:20). Well, their new computer system had been down, and they apparently had double-booked some people and couldn't confirm anything because they have been working on getting this new system in for 2-3 weeks now. The waiting room was packed, and I didn't get in to see the doctor until 1:30 (an hour past my appt. time). Once I got in to see her, I felt so much better though. She is fantastic, and I really enjoyed her. She is probably close to my age (mid-late 30's), and was so understanding and compassionate, and very thorough!

She did a urinalysis, pap smear, something called a wet smear (?), an endometrial biopsy (which was pretty painful), a blood draw to check my thyroid, and hormone levels. I will go back in two weeks to go over all these results, and at this time, she will also do an ultrasound.

BUT GET THIS.....I have lost all respect for my PRIOR ob/gyn. The cystocele (bladder prolapse) that I have comes in 4 stages (1 being the least problematic and 4 being the most severe). I have a Stage 1 cystocele, and he was willing to go in and do a partial hysterectomy and try to tack my bladder back up when it really isn't to the point of needing that yet. This doctor said she will keep an eye on it annually and we will see if it progresses or not. Now, if they find something in all these tests that warrants a hysterectomy then I will have to consider that at the time. BUT, my other doctor was too lazy or uninterested in finding out what the cause of the bleeding was that he just figured a hysterectomy would solve all those problems.

So, anyway, I got out of there about 2:20, and had to go by and p/u Lane from dad's work and get to Britt's school (on the other side of town) by 3:00. I got to Britt's school about 5 minutes late. There is a Taco Bell right on the corner, so I stopped there after picking her up and scarfed down some lunch. I've done better today with my eating.

Fillise: Congrats on the 8.5#'s. Keep up the great work.

Monet: I like salads too. Tonight, I am going to make French Onion soup (not legal, I know), and a large Tuna Salad w/ lemon pepper tuna, avocados, tomatoes, etc... Now that Heart has also requested you to post the chile relleno casserole, you'll have to do it when you have some time; it sounds yummy! I think the pain is too high up to be my ovary; we'll see. Sorry to hear about all the car problems; sounds like a big hassle to me.

Gator: Thanks for the kind words; I think I am now in capable hands, and s/b able to find out what is going on. Good job passing on that shake (oooops, I said it). You s/b proud when you pass up on a temptation like that. I haven't been so good; I'm glad those choc. chip cookies are finally all gone (ha).

Ken: Thanks for the kind words; I hope to find out what is going on soon. Being full on the right foods isn't so bad. It's easy to fill stuffed when you are preg., even when you don't eat too much. Did I ask if you are going to find out the gender of teh baby?

Teensy: I am sure the pups loved getting out for a walk.

Cindy: With a schedule like that, we are luck to even see you at all. So sorry to hear about your dad; do they know what may have caused an illness like that?

Heart: Good to see you. You must retain a ton of water; I can't remember a time that I fluctuated 8 pounds in only a few days. I glad you enjoyed the party, but are now back on track. Happy Birthday to Boogie; I know every year is a true celebration!! My friend's (Elaine) daughter got her new heart; she is already 6 months old, but it has been such a tough go from day one. She got her heart at only 3-4 months old, but her body rejected it for awhile, and she developed a lot of problems. She seemed to be doing well, but she now has a really terrible cold that put her back in the hospital. It is heart-breaking to see all that she has been through already. What did the dr's do to correct the cyst problems you were having with your ovaries?

Tech: Did you get lots of chew toys & bones for Junior? Congratulations on the newest member of the family...enjoy him. We can't wait to see pictures.

Jack: Glad you are below 170. Sometimes it takes that scale awhile to realize your efforts.

Country: Glad the scale is your friend this week...way to go. Enjoy the dollar store; I'd be lost in there all day. My husband laughs at me when I go to our local 99 cent store. He doesn't understand how I can spend $40-50 in there (ha).

Well, that is enough of a novel for me; I better go get some stuff done.

Have a great, OP day!

Take care,
Nat

Okay, just a quick post with some pictures of Junior!! I'm attempting to upload pics with Junior with his 'big brother and sister' and one of me with him and one of him romping around the backyard. Let's see if they all show up :crossed:

Okay...I think I've got all the pictures on there...the one of me with Junior was taken by my mom and I had to make it really little to be small enough for the attachment requirements. Check out the size of those PAWS!! I'm not sure I'm holding him properly, but I don't think it matters as I don't anticipate being able to pick him up for long!! He's a BIG BABY!! And right now he's sleeping on one of my afghans that he seems to have decided is his new bed. sooo cute.

Okay...off to relax a bit. It's been a busy few days!!

TECH: No fair! The first time you post a picture of yourself and you have on sunglasses and have a huge dog in your arms! I mean, the kids are great, the dog is cute, but can we see a decent picture of you? :)

PANCHO: I had an endometrial biopsy before my hyst, and they warned me it would hurt, but it did not bother me! Weird huh? I felt a bit crampy afterwards, but not during. It showed polyps, which was a confirmation on the hyst decision according to the doctor. Sometimes I wish I had not had it done though, so I am glad you have found a doctor you like who is more thorough than the old one.

JACK: Let me know if you like the country fried steak!

HEART: I will post the chili relleno recipe! I will try to do that tonight. It was easy and very good. Happy Birthday to Boogie! :balloons: Got any big plans for your birthday?

COUNTRY: :cheer: Congrats on being down! How I would LOVE to see that number!

I know I am missing people...forgive me. I am on marathon today to get as much done as I can. I have been to Publix, Party City and Costco. I called to change my credit card number, not realizing they would do it immediately, so I am in trouble now! I need to run to the church office and get them to cut me a check, then I need to run to the bank. What a day! Thankfully, Laura doesn't work, but I do have a meeting here tonight. :) And of course, I am cooking everyone dinner.....

Tech--There was an article in the student newspaper at the university here that had an article mentioning that women who didn't wear makeup often are more confident than women who do. They don't feel like they need to wear make-up to get approval from others. So, thought you'd be interested in that. Of course, this is not a hard and fast rule. For example, I wear make-up just because I like how I look in it, and I think I am extremely confident. In fact so confident that it intimidates some people. :)

Monet--Yep, I saw that display of granola in Costco. They had the people there from Maine or wherever the place is that they make it. I had a sample in one of those little paper cups, and agree it was yummy. Granola and I don't mix because I can eat it ALL in one sitting.

Pancho--I'm so glad you found a good doctor. I had a gyn one time that told me (when I mentioned some minor problem with my monthly period) that "if it continues to bother you we can just take out the whole shootin' match." I think that men just don't have a clue sometimes, and look at surgery as the best way to get rid of the "problem." I bet they'd think twice if some woman doctor said something like that to them!!!
I had an endometrial biopsy one time, years ago. They gave me lots of valium--an injection--and it still hurt. My DH had to drive me home. Hope all the tests turn out good and that there is a simple remedy to take care of any problems.

I had my last French class at the university today. Yippee! It takes me about 40 minutes to drive out there. Class today lasted about 20 minutes. What a waste of time and gas. All he did was pronounce some names of wines and have us repeat them, and then he recited one poem from memory. I did get to fill out an evaluation form on him. Steps so far 11700 because I walked to class from off campus. I had a big lunch: BLT on SGWW bread with lo cal mayo, and waldorf salad made with 1/2 apple, 1 orange, some walnuts, a TBS. of cocoanut and some lo cal mayo. It was good. I'll have to have a very light supper. Maybe some stir fried broccoli.

Bye.

Today seems like a blurr to me and time flew by so fast. I managed to get few things done like ironing, laundry, folding clothes etc. I did took a little rest in between too, not bad at all :)

Jess had a little complaints from her teacher today that she did not listen to her repeatedly. I do expect complaints from teachers but hearing them is never easy. I know this is just the beginning as my child is not perfect...LOL. Gosh, being a parent is sure not easy :)

My menu for today :

Breakfast : 1/2 cup of milk, 1 ww waffle, 1 fried egg and 2 small sausages.

Snack : Grapes.

Lunch : Pan-seared basa fish, a veggie casserole with squash, zucchini and tomatoes, and pasta.

Snack : An orange, nuts and 1/2 cup of milk.

Some replies :

GATOR : Hope you feel better today. I am the opposite as when I feel down, I lose my appetite. How about keeping a small piece of rich dark chocolate with you to "lift" you up when you needed something sweet? I saw this show once that the nutritionist asked the lady she was working with to have a small piece of dark rich chocolate to treat her sweet cravings. It worked wonders for her. If you are at home, you can certainly make your own "creamy drinks" :) Another suggestion would be call a friend when you are "down" as this will take your attention away.

TEENSY : Hope your dr's appointment goes well.

CINDY : Wow...your schedule sounds crazy. No wonder you are tired, I would be too. I am so sorry to hear that your dad is not getting any better. I will continue to pray for him. I love your menu, you are such creative cook :)

MONET : I am sorry that Laura's car trouble is still there. Hope all goes smoothly from now on. I love Country Fried Steak and have made it once a long time ago. Yum...I love your recipe :) I love mango too and do indulge in some ocassionally. I tried to find some not too ripe ones which have less sugar. My mom used to pickle green mango with sugar and red pepper and it was sooo yummy. Crunchy, spicy sour and sweet at the same time. Those were the old days...sighh :( I have yet to visit Costco but will soon do so with my neighbor. I am looking forward to see what they have got. I would love to get some asian veggies if they have.

HEART : Happy Belated Birthday to Boogie as well. Glad the scale is back down now :)

TECH : Junior sure looks big and cute! Glad to hear your family is enjoying his company. You look beautiful....awwww!! Thanks for the pics.

JACK : You said no to "Boston Creme Pie"???? You have my admiration as it is one of my fav pie :) Yum!!! Congrats on losing the 1 lb, I know you will reach your goal as you have such great strength. Thanks for your info about the new products on market. I will check out the ww dinner roll. Thanks again!

FILLISE : It is a nice day here too, good day to you.

COUNTRY : Congrats on your weight loss. What a wonderful job!! Hope you didn't bring back the whole Dollar store with you....lol. Find any good bargains??

PANCHO : I am so happy that your appointment was a positive one. it is so important for us to have a good dr who really cares. I am so glad I changed to my new OBGYN because I managed to skip the blood sugar test which I didn't need at all. I am glad they listened to me instead of just doing everything standard like what my old OBGYN was doing. My family dr is also so awesome, he always make me feel so good that I asked him questions, no matter how stupid they are. I spoke to him over the phone more than his nurses what a gem he is! Hope your results come back good. My ultrasound is tomorrow and I believe that is the one that allows me to find out the gender of the baby. I am leaning more towards finding out the gender of the baby this time while dh doesn't care whether we do. We didn't find out the gender on our first pregnancy as we wanted the surprise all the way to the delivery room...lol. It was sure a surprise as I thought Jess was a boy because everyone told me so...lol. Anyway, if we find out, I will definitely let you all know. I am more nervous about finding out how the baby is doing like any birth defects etc. Hope all goes well tomorrow.

That's all for now. I need to get some snack now and then take dd outside to play in the dirt. Will check in later.

Crystle: I WANNA GO TO THE DOLLAR STORE TOO!!!!!! (think your mamma can front me some money for it?)

Nat: im sooooo happy to hear that your second doctor acctually knows what their talking about!!! trust me, hysterectomies are NO fun!!! and on top of it you gain weight so much easier :(

I'll be back in a minute for replys, but wanted to share this.....

Poem for women

He didn't like the casserole,
And he didn't like my cake.
My biscuits were too hard...
Not like his mother used to make.

I didn't perk the coffee right,
He didn't like the stew,
I didn't mend his socks
The way his mother used to do.

I pondered for an answer,
I was looking for a clue;
Then I turned around and smacked him...
Like his Mother used to do.

[i]In the year 2005, the Lord came to Noah, who was now living in the United States and said, "Once again, the earth has become wicked and over-populated and I see the end of all flesh before me. Build another Ark and save two of every living thing along with a few good humans."

He gave Noah blueprints, saying, "You have six months to build the Ark before I start the unending rain for 40 days and 40 nights."

Six months later, the Lord looked down and saw Noah weeping in his yard....but no Ark.

"Noah", He roared, "I'm about to start the rain! Where is the Ark?."

"Forgive me, Lord," begged Noah. "But things have changed. I needed a building permit. I've been arguing with the inspector about the need for a sprinkler system. My neighbors claim that I've violated the neighborhood zoning laws by building the Ark in my yard and exceeding the height limitations.

We had to go to the Development Appeal Board for a decision. Then the Department of Transportation demanded a bond be posted for the future costs of moving power lines and other overhead obstructions, to clear the passage for the Ark's move to the sea. I argued that the sea would be coming to us, but they would hear nothing of it.

Getting the wood was another problem. There's a ban on cutting local trees in order to save the spotted owl. I tried to convince the environmentalists that I needed the wood to save the owls. But no go!

When I started gathering the animals, I got sued by an animal rights group. They insisted that I was confining wild animals against their will. As well, they argued the accommodation was too restrictive and it was cruel and inhumane to put so many animals in a confinded space.

Then the EPA ruled that I couldn't build the Ark until they conducted an environmental impact study on your proposed flood. I'm still trying to resolve a complaint with the Human Rights Commission on how many monorities I'm supposed to hire for my building crew.

Also, the trades unions say I can't use my sons. They insist I have to hire only Union workers with Ark building experience. To make matters worse, the IRS seized all my assets, claiming I'm trying to leave the country illegally with endangered species.

So, forgive me Lord, but it would take at least ten years for me to finish this Ark.

Suddenly the skies cleared, the sun began to shine, and a rainbow stretched across the sky.

Noah looked up in wonder and asked, "You mean, You're not going to destroy the world?."

"No," said the Lord. "The government beat me to it."/i]

Hello everyone. One more day to go..whew. I felt a bit better today getting up so early and working a long day. Heading to bed here early again so Im going to type quick :) Hope everyones week is going well.

Monet- Hope the car gets fixed soon for you. My protein shakes are with water no milk. I really dont eat all that much cheese. When I use swiss in my roll ups its the presliced kind thats a very thin slice and I only use one. I cut it in 4 small strips and use one strip with one slice of thin turkey breast.
Im so tired messing with my menus to figure out the right combo. I think Im just gonna kick back a while and not worry about it. I feel like I try so hard and daily I really do good eating wise and exercise wise . Ive upped my calories , Ive lowered my calories, upped my carbs, lowered my carbs, added this, taken out that... etc. And I am just stuck. I even stopped lifting weights for a month hoping that would help the scale move but it hasnt helped. Im just swinging between the same few pounds up and down. So I am just going to relax about it for a while and not nit pick at myself so much.

Jack-k- congrats on your loss !!

Pancho- your new dr sounds very good. No reason to have a hysterectomy if you dont have to ! The dr thinks my dads condition might have been caused by different bouts of pnoumnia over his life time. He said everytime you have it it leaves scarring in your lungs.

well Ive run out of time. Hope to get more in maybe tomorrow or the next day. Thank you so much for all the prayers and blessings for my dad. It means alot !

GOOD EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!!!

BAD BOB FOR NOT GETTING ON THE BOARD LAST NIGHT!!!! I'm the one who pushed for the BIRTHDAY TAG ....I was the
FIRST BIRTHDAY, and then, I DON'T SHOW UP!!!

I actually did what I wanted to do for once......NADA!!!

I APPRECIATE ALL OF YOUR BEST WISHES, AND THE ONLY REGRET THAT I HAVE IS THAT WE ALL COULDN'T HAVE BEEN TOGETHER FOR "MONET" TO COOK US UP A GOOD SUPPER!!!

I watched movies, ate, watched movies, ate.....you get the pitcure.....

My bad news present that I got yesterday was....I went to Pain Management for a 9a.m. appointment, and didnt get out of there until almost noon! While there, I learned that while I can have one more series of injections for my shoulder/arm/hand.....the discs have herniated even more and are pressng on the cord . What does that mean???? SURGERY!!!! Which is what I've been trying to avoid!! The herniation can only get worse, so I really have no other choice! The injections (if they work, can last one day....six months....or not all!

He put me back on the NORCO 10 which is the strongest of the pain meds. His reasoning for this...I was ingesting more tylenol effecting my kidneys and liver. So I'm staggering around here at night, thankful that I don't need or have to go anywhere in the car

BUT....after that ews, my afternoon and evening went really well!

It's late, I'e got to climb up in the 4 poster and watch EXTREME MAKEOVER!

Sorry I'm not doing replies, but PLEASE KNOW I LOVE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU ANd I APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT....BUT DANGIT...I HAD TO GET ON THE SCALE YESTERDAY AND I'L GAINED 15LBS SINCE SEPTEMBER!!! SO IT'S BACK ON MY GRILLED CHICKEN AND FRESH GREEN BEANS.....IT WORKS FOR ME..No red meat, but a lot of fish!!!!

Well, I've rattled enough....and it's up in the bed I go!

THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND YOUR FRIENDSHIP!!! I'LL TALK TO Y'ALL TOMORROW....

Whew! The meeting is over and everyone went home. Tom and Laura left almost two hours ago to get the Honda to the carburetor place...I hope they are successful! They may have stopped off for a beer or something to celebrate!

Dinner tonight was chicken in homemade teriyaki sauce, stir fried veggies, and Forbidden rice. It is a whole grain variety that is black, and was only served to the emperors of China for years and years and years. Its cool...it is honestly black! Yummy too!

BOB: I am sorry about the possibility of surgery. I am also sorry everyone could not come over and have dinner at my house. Any time you want to come for dinner, just let me know! I will fix you whatever you want! :)

CINDY: Boy, can I relate to the tinkering with the menu stuff. I am the same way. I did find a good way to lose...don't eat anything but homemade organic lemonade made with maple syrup. :s: Unfortunately, its hard to keep up! I have no idea why my body refuses to give up the fat, but it sure is frustrating!

GATOR: Well, there is another way we are alike...I too could eat the whole thing of granola! I probably won't buy it often. Its just too good.

SEBRAY: I hope you get to work on that tablecloth! Sounds like fun!

KENG: I can't wait to hear what the baby is! Some friends of ours just had an ultrasound the other day, and found out they are having a girl. Their first child, who is 18months, is a boy, so the dad is excited. The mom wanted a boy, because he could play with his big brother, and they fully intend to have four or five kids, so they could have a girl later. The dad said he is going to get pointers from Tom on not getting wrapped around her little finger...ha! Like Tom will be any help! Both our girls are very good at that!

TECH: Thanks for posting the pic! You don't look anything like I imagined you, but then, I am not sure how I imagined you! I think you have a lovely smile, among other features! :)

Ok, I am going to go over to the recipe board and post the chili relleno casserole, and the shrimp in garlic sauce. But here is a great exercise tip:

New Florida Exercise Program

This is for mature people. Younger people try it at their own risk. This is working well for me.

For those of us getting along in years, here is a little secret for building your arm and shoulder muscles. You might want to adopt this three days a week.

Begin by standing straight, with a 5-LB. potato sack in each hand. Extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can. Try to reach a full minute. Relax.

After a few weeks, move up to 10-LB. potato sacks, and then 50-LB. potato sacks, and eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100-LB. potato sack in each hand and hold your arms straight out for more than a full minute.

After you feel confident at that level, start putting a couple of potatoes in the sacks.

Hey, guys. Not much going on. Another OP day is done, the scale was down to 164 this AM. Just 4 or 5 more to go before I'm back to my low. I did have too much salt today, I hope it doesn't show tomorrow. Speaking of makeup, I wear makeup about twice a week, usually when I spend most of the day in town or go to church. I think I look better with it, although I've been told I don't need it. Anyhoo...JACK-K I tried those rolls and mine turned out too hard, maybe I cooked them too long? Did yours? I like soft rolls. PANCHO- Sorry to hear that the baby is having a hard time. We spent alot of time in the hospital with colds and viruses and stuff when Boogie was really little. Then it got better and now, he only has to go to the doc for regular kid's stuff, like getting his immunizations next week. I don't have any plans for my bday tomorrow. For some reason, on a subconscious level, I'm a real B on my bday, never fails, even when I try not to be. I hope things won't be that way tomorrow. Well, I need to go...

Good Morning! I have been working on arts festival stuff since 7 this morning! Mostly emails and schedules...and I stink at schedules! I have a lot more to do, and since I have no car again, I am not going to do my volunteer stint at the church office. I will miss it!

I hopped on the metal monster today...up 1.5 pounds! I was suprised since I really ate well yesterday. Well, except for too much granola. Unfortunately, I started out the day with too much granola. I think I need to not buy it anymore!

I am trying to get James up and he is being difficult again. I don't know what to do about him. I should not have to wake up a 26 year old man so he can go to work! Unfortunately, he makes Laura late for class, and then everyone is in a bad mood. Lately, he has been grumpy a lot too, so it makes him a bit more unapproachable. I am just tired of dealing with them, and I almost wish they would just move out and leave me alone! And take the cats! :)

Ok, vent over. I will be back later...I think I am going to do something really decadent and make myself some coffee. I have not had but one cup since I did the detox diet, and I really don't want to get hooked on caffeine again, but I need the lift! And chocolate just won't do it!

Monet--I have no car today also. I have a convertible--1991 Toyota Celica, love it!!--and the rear window has some stitches coming out. So I took it to a place that will restitch the window. They have to take off the whole top to do it and it takes some time. So am leaving it there for most of the day. The place is 2.5 miles from my house, so I just might walk there when it is ready. Will be a good way for me to get in my exercise for the day.

Breakfast--1 boiled egg, 1 SGWW toast with butter and sf jelly, 1 orange.

I actually weighed today and am down one pound from last week. Not much considering that I have been pretty good and am now walking again. I think that maybe my erratic meals on Tuesdays and Thursdays are making it harder for me. I leave on those days for class about 6 pm. before my DH gets home. And I usually just "grab sumptin' " rather than fixing a regular meal. Last night I had a piece of bread with peanut butter. And when I get home a little after 9 I am really hungry, so have a bowl of cereal or some cheese and fruit to eat. That might not be a good idea.

Thanks for the helpful suggestions, everyone, re. handling those cravings that come when I get tired and "down."

Well, I'm gonna go. Have stuff to do. Have a great day everyone.

GATOR: I won't tell my daughter you have a Celica convertible. That is what she wants in the worst way! :) She got approval for a loan yesterday from the credit union, so she is really excited and ready to shop in earnest. Finding a Celica is hard though...they are very popular cars. Once someone gets one, they don't want to sell it!

Good morning Ladies

Sure glad it is Friday, but the weekend is supposed to be nasty. Bad storms today and cold front coming in.

The gala was nice last night. Champange (sp) and tons of food. I didn't eat much. Some spinach ravioli and some roast and salad and crab cakes. I did have a couple veggie spring rolls. They hod lots of shrimp/seafood items which I don't like. Probably had too much to drink. That happens when it is free.

Our big fireworks show, Thunder over Louisville, is tomorrow night. We are planning to go but the weather may dictate our plans. Plus the traffic is so bad, it usually takes 2 hours to get home which would normally take 20 minutes.

Tech, what cute kids and you are a gorgeous woman too. I don't know what you look like w/o makeup, but you look great with it. The puppy is soo cute. He is going to be big.

Heart: Happy Birthday :balloons:, :hat: :hb: Hope you have a great day.

Nat, Boy it sure was a good ting you found another doctor. I'm glad she doesn't think it is as serious as you were told. Hope this works for you.

Gator, glad your class is over. What a waste of time for such a short class. Congrats on the 1 lb loss.

Ken, I wouldn'be be too upset by the teachers remarks. Jess is only a child and not expected to be "listening" all the time.

Sebray, making a tablecloth? I just buy them. I'm not very talented.

Bob, I'm sorry to hear that you will have surgery. I have herniated disks also and even though the epidurals really helped them before, I hate to start them up again. Becareful on those pain meds. Glad to hear you are getting back on track. The extra wt is not good for your back either.

Cindy, it's Friday! You made it with your long hours. Get some rest this weekend.

Monet, I can't buy things that give me trouble. I am better off b/c I don't know how to control myself. I think you should stop getting James up. Tell him to set an alarm and if he doesn't get up, then that's his problem. I'm sure after a few days, his boss will straighten him up.

Be back later.

Good Morning SB buddies:

I weighed 122.5# this morning, but know it had a lot to do w/ the French Onion soup I made last night (I had a large bowl of it). It had a lot of sodium in it, and with the bread and cheese....well you get the picture. I did have a nice green salad w/tuna steak with it.

I did get up early to get my gym workout out of the way. Lane and I will be leaving soon to go to the outlet mall to get a gift for a friend of Britt's. She has a birthday party to go to after school. It's at a park, and the weather is supposed to hit 87 today, so I better bring the sunscreen.

I plan to go to the gym tomorrow morning, and then to get my haircut; I haven't had a haircut since the end of January. I am way overdo!

Tech: It is so nice to put a name with a face. We now know what you and the kids look like when you are mentioning names. I love the pic. of you w/ daughter. The kids are precious, and Junior is pretty cute too. Dogs don't care how you hold them, as long as you love them.

Monet: So, the biopsy didn't hurt you, even w/ polyps? I was crampy most of the day, and I bled all day too. I know that a hyster. may still be necessary, but I'd like to put it off as long as I possibly can (I'm only 37). I hope you are able to stop at one cup of coffee ;) .

Gator: I must be ultra confident  ; I don't wear make-up very often. I almost always wear eyeliner and mascara, but all the other stuff, I don't usually bother with, unless I am going out for the day, or we go out in the evenings. I am beginning to feel the same way about male doctors. I was w/ that male ob/gyn for 13 years, and he still thinks I am the 20 something that I used to be, instead of realizing that I am now at the age that things can start to happen. I also called my family doctor (also male) yesterday and requested my medical files. I am scheduled to see an internal medicine (adult practice only) doctor in June, and she will also be a female. I can't expect a male to understand how a female body works. They did not give me anything for that biopsy, even though she told me that it was basically the same as going to the hospital for a D&C. I think they do early miscarriage D&C's in their office as well. It was very uncomfortable, and I had cramping a lot of the day, but I am feeling good today. I'm just glad to have the ball rolling; it puts my mind at ease a bit. I'm praying for good results, but I really just want to know what is going on. With the cost of gas, I'd be upset about a wasted trip to the university too.

Ken: It is difficult to hear when our kids act out. Britt is such a good student and a rule follower, and I feel bad that Lane has to follow in her footsteps, because she already is a ball of fire. She will be the subject of many parent/teacher conferences, I am afraid  . She has her own little agenda, and she doesn't want anyone to tell her otherwise. I will just do the same with her as I do with Britt.....let her know everyday that I love her NO MATTER WHAT. I may not always like the way they act, but I always love them. I totally agree with you about finding a compassionate doctor; it makes all the difference in the world. I am so glad you didn't have to undergo that gag test. I felt like I was going to pass out when I did it...yuck! I will pray that all goes well with your US tomorrow, and please share if you learn any news :p .

Sebray: $200 is an awful lot of money for any summer camp; don't feel guilty at all about that!!

BOB: So sorry to hear that you will have to undergo surgery for the disc problems you are having. Please keep up posted.

Jack: Glad you enjoyed the gala; I bet it was a lot of fun. It sounds as if your eating was pretty good too. Enjoy the fireworks show, and bring lots of reading material for the drive.

HEART: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!! I HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR DAY!!!

Cindy, Fillise, Teensy...anyone else I forgot, have a great day!!!!

Take care,
Nat

It's bad when I haven't checked in in a few days..haha!!! So many things I need to read and my head is spinning!!!

Okay, updates...my root canal went pretty good, I have a bit of residual pain and I have to go back next Thurs to get it "finished" and then I need to get the tooth capped...it was worse than he thought, I think...because I had an injury at that tooth when I was 2yr old..(when my adult tooth was still in my gums I guess?) it has caused my gum to recede there and my muscle to be wacko...I don't know much about dental..but, I am leaving it in the hands of the pros!

As for my DD, she has her surgery scheduled for the second week in May..that is the QUICKEST they can get her in! makes me crazy! the doc said it is bad and she is gettting it done on both sides..not just the left...

I gotta run..ifyou can imagine, I have both kids on my lap right now and they are fighting with eachother (playfully) and they are pushing my hands down as I type.

Take care all...I am still trying to catch up on my two days I didn't check in.

HAPPY EARTH DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Checking in! I went to the church office afterall this afternoon, and did worship guides. I also looked at paper, and planned the program for my arts festival. I need to write the 'director' letter, and get it to the gal doing the programs. Its only a week away, and I know I am forgetting something! Or lots of somethings!

I had a ham and sprout sandwich for lunch, then had a late snack of an orange and some imitation crab meat. Is that stuff legal? Its very low fat and calories, but it probably has starch or something in it. :( I love it...

We had quite a storm this afternoon. It poured, and thundered and lightning was all over the place! Very exciting! BUT, no more pollen! Yay!

I have to run get James from work. I hope I can check back in later.

Hi guys !! I just got home and am exhausted but so glad its Friday and I have 4 whole days off !!! My wonderful dogs got me up around 2 am and I thought , , heck I might as well stay up cause my alarm was set for 3:30 am but after letting them in from outside I decided to go back to bed for a bit. My alarm woke me promptly at 3:30 and I got ready and headed to work for 11 more grueling hours then got home and we headed out to dinner then a few errands . Got side tracked during one into a pet store to look at all the puppies they have.. awww makes me want to have another... well maybe later..we have two now and thats enough. Came home long enough to.. well to do nothing for 20 minutes, and head back out to help my dad onload some equipment and visit with some of their friends and just got home now at 10:00 and Im about ready to drop. Hope you all had a great week. Im down 1 pound this week but its not a "new" pound .
Happy birthday to the birthday kids for this week. Im sorry I didnt get it in on your speical day but hope your birthdays were wonderful. :) :hb:

Good Morning, all my Sugarbuster buddies!

I have not had breakfast yet, so I may faint while writing this! I did have a cup of 1/2 reg. 1/2 decaf espresso. Mmmm good! It was just the third cup of coffee I have had since the detox diet..amazing for me! I used to drink a pot or more a day.

I have a lot of errands to run today. I have to go to Whole Foods and get milk and some veggies. That will be fun. WF is always busy on Saturdays. I hope I will have time to get a walk in. Yesterday, even with the 1.75 mile walk, I only had 9000 steps! I spent a lot of time working on emails and last night from 9 to 10:30, I received and replied to over 30 from the gal who is working on the program! Whew! The next week is going to be really busy, so forgive me if I am MIA some.

OK, I got distracted, and now its later. I had breakfast...2 eggs, 2 sausage, 1/2 English Muffin, a dab of Polaner All Fruit spread, and water. I am trying to cut my portions down, in hopes it will help.

I need to run and get stuff done, but will check in later! Have a great day!

Hope you all have a GREAT on plan weekend.

I spent too much $$ at Harry's Whole Foods. I always do that! They had these specialty rice varieties on sale, so I got a few. We have had two of them before and they are really good...just expensive. I got olives from the olive bar, and brown rice cakes, so I can quit eating so much wheat. They had organic apples on sale, so I bought a big bag of them. I guess I will make some charoset this afternoon. It is Passover this weekend...

I had some lunch: a rice cake with ham and sprouts. I really need to go clean some, especially in the kitchen. I just don't want to. :( Tom wants me to plant some more stuff in the garden. I don't want to do that either. I think I would like to take a nap though! Shameful, ain't I?

Hey everyone! I just got in from Birmingham and am exhausted. Got caught in a bad storm yesterday with golf ball sized hail and really strong winds. The car doesn't seem to have any damage, but boy was I scared.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Dinner was stir fried pork and veggies with baby basmati rice. I had an orange for dessert.

Tom bought me 12 more tomato plants. How am I ever going to get them in the ground? The last nine about killed me! I also am supposed to plant squash, cucumbers, and more beans. I don't think I am cut out to be a farmer. I just can't balance well enough on the stepping stones, bend over, dig a hole and plant a tomato plant-I fall over!

Tom is still working on the plumbing. It is not going as well as he hoped, so still no hot water to our shower. :(

I should do replies, but I think I will go do some work. Yeah..amazing isn't it? I have got to be the laziest person you will ever met!

 I will check in tomorrow!

I had a nice post last night, and my computer froze while I was trying to submit it. Grrrr. Then the internet would not work at all, so I guess it was not something stupid that I did! Wonder of wonders!

I slept like a rock last night. We had the heat off, and it got down to 59 in the house...outside it was around freezing. Thankfully the garden plants were not harmed. I had my mattress heating pad on, and it was all warm and cozy. I actually slept straight for about 6 1/2 hours... boy that felt good!

CINDY: I am sorry your weather has turned so nasty. Here, it was raining and with lots of lightning and thunder, but it cleared off yesterday late afternoon, but turned really cold. Seems like we always get a bad cold snap that ruins the peach crop or some other crop, or kills my roses, or something. I remember growing up in the Chicago area, the year it snowed on Easter. A blizzard...in April. My sisters and I and my Mom always got new outfits and hats for Easter. That year, my dad kept telling us not to bother, it was going to snow. We all ended up wearing heavy winter coats and boots to church, and my dad was not very popular for a few days! I hope your weather clears up soon!

TECH: I hope your weather clears up soon too!

SEBRAY: Get out of that crap and back on program! You don't want me to come up there and make you do you? It won't be pretty! BOB! Oh BOB! Get the wagon ready! Pick up Gator and bring the bungee cords! :s:

OMG ITS SNOWING!!!!!! it was raining pretty bad on and off yesterday and kevin said that they were calling for snow today but i just laughed at him...the boys woke me up this morning screaming about the snow outside lol.....just seems so weird having snow in april....but im glad im not the only one with weird weather!

last night at 10pm i had to pick keving up from work and he had a craving for taco bell....i was so proud of myself because i said NO!!!! i had cooked a yummy dinner and it was waiting for him at home, but then he bribed me and said he'd leave the iPod home for me today if i went to taco bell....and i caved in like a big sissy....BUT i didnt eat my tacos last night, i just put them in the fridge and went to bed...ill eat them for lunch today...i only got 2 soft taco supremes so its not too bad i guess....

i cant believe that tomorrow starts the last week of school for me....im sooo excited :) all of my work is done i just have to study for my history exam that is tomorrow and then ill have all week to get ready for my finals....

Monet: thats right....grab the girls and bring them....this month has been TERRIBLE for me...i havent lost any weight, and i have been so discouraged (of course i havent been eating OP very much and have barely exercised)....i truely do need a good smack in the head.....perhaps after finals ill be better

well have to run now...hope everyone has a great day

SEBRAY: You need to sit that man of yours down and tell him you are not going to tolerate his sabotage! Taco Bell is NOT legal and loaded with stuff that is not good for you. And you with dinner already made. I would have told him to stuff the iPod, and gone on home. Who needs it? It may be fun, cool and all that but so what? Your health is much more important, and you want to get this weight and health thing under control while you are young, or you will be like me, old, fat and finding it impossible to lose anything! I know its hard with all the stress you are under, but you have to learn to handle healthy eating even when stressed, or you will be yo-yo dieting all your life! <<hug>> Give those tacos to the kids and have something healthy!

Monet: i love you :) thank you so much for giving me the honesty i needed...thats y i love coming here.....i ended up only eating one of the tacos for lunch today and gave the other one to aidan :).....i AM going to exercise here in a few mins though...im feeling so yucky not haveing exercised in so long :(

I was cleaning out some boxes in my closet and found one of my favorite books. "Meditations for Living in Balance: Daily Solutions For People Who Do To Much" if you guys dont mind, i thought i would post the daily meditations for everyone.......i know they have helped me alot throughout the years...in fact i never went anywhere without that book and my little AA book for a long time...then about 3 or 4 moves later they got packed away and 'lost'

anywho, today's meditation is about Anger, and if it would be ok for me to post it just let me know :)

of to shake my bum on the gazelle...i hope lol

AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!

It's chilly here today..lots of wind...Went to the grocery and about froze my arse off !

I watched MEET THE FOCKERS last night...it's so funny...AND..if y'all haven't seen SIDEWAYS..get it...it's so good!

Laundry is on the agenda here today...looking at my laundry room, you would think 50 people live here!

My Cousins Son is getting married in December and it's taking place in NiGril..I just don't see how I can make this one...they will be there for 4 days then the kids will stay for their honeymoon. Only the immediate family will be going and it's nice of them to include me in that...I'll start playing the lottery!

I'm on an egg salad kick...can't get enough of it..I'm crawling off the wagon today to have my favorite Birthday Dinner....cooked cabbage, pasta with tomatoe sauce, stewed potatoes and cornbread...I only eat this once a year, so I'll try not to be a pig...

I'm off to start the laundry..I'll be back for replies...

We just finished dinner....baked ziti and salad. Turned out fairly good. I WAS planning on spaghetti, but did not have enough spaghetti noodles, and did have a bag of uncut ziti. I cooked them and cut them with scissors, and then baked them with sauce, meat and cheese on them.

My back is bothering me today, so I think I may lay down for a while. I, like BOB, have laundry to do. I put nasty notes to myself on Outlook so I would not forget the laundry. I meant to do it yesterday, and totally forgot after putting the first load in the washer.

I hope everyone is doing well. I will probably check in before bed, but we have church tonight, so I might not be able to get back here. Tom is still working on the plumbing, no hot water to our bathroom yet. Looks like I am going to have to take another shower in James' shower. Ew!

Good afternoon ya'll. I sure wish I could share some of this beautiful weather with those of you having such a yucky day. It's 76 and totally beautiful outside. We just finished planting the last of the tomatoes and five rows of okra. I did finally find some serrano and a couple of jalapenos. So there are about 6 varieties of hot peppers planted. Next time I go to WalMart I need to get some sweet banana peppers for Stormy. She will eat the hot ones but would enjoy the milder ones better. The last thing I have left to plant is the zuchinni. All the tomato plants are blooming except the ones we put in today. We also harvested our first white radishes. I'm so excited. We've lived here five years but this is our first garden.
We grilled some tilapia the other day. It was my first time having grilled fish and it was wonderful.

Sebray...when I go to taco bell I get the taco salad and just don't eat the shell. I know we aren't suppose to eat refried beans but it's one of those no-no's that I've allowed myself since my first day on plan.

Bob...enjoy your birthday dinner. Once a year is not bad at all. Green tomatoes are my seasonal cheat. I'm not quite as good as you I eat them two or three times in the summer if I can find them. I'm hungry just thinking about it...LOL

Monet...wow you've had dinner already and we just finsihed lunch...hehehe I am so running behind today. But with sleeping late and working in the garden no one noticed. Robert is welding me this really neat clothes line. How is your hot water coming?

Susan..I'm so glad it didn't mess up your car. Very scary for sure.

Cindy and Tech....((hugzz)) stay warm.

Break time is over.

Love and hugs,
Crystle

My supper was sooooooooooooo good! COUNTRY...now you've got me wanting fried green tomatoes! Down here, they want to sell them for $3.99 a pound! I still can't get used to that..We used to throw them away because we had too many and they want to charge that much!!!

I'm watching BARBER SHOP 2...

Nothing too good on TV tonight...that is until 10 when GRAYS ANATOMY comes on...love that show.

I'm off until tomorrow...

Im back from a full day of shopping. Boy was it fun. We were gone about 5 1/2 hours . I just wish it wasnt so darn cold out. We just froze.
I found a few tops for the spring/summer time and some new sneakers for walking. We got the chile verda something or other from tgif's and it was wonderful ! I came home and exercised and got in almost 20,000 steps today with all the walking we did and 45 min of exercise. Hopefully it wore off some of the illegal food I ate today.

Sebray- Im glad I dont like Taco bell anymore :) I never ate there much before lc but when I did It tasted good while eating it then later Id feel like crap, just something in their food didnt like me. Probably was a good thing.

Monet- Thank you for the nice commet on my aviator.

Bob- hope your b-day dinner was awesomely good !
Oh I just read it was :)

Crystle- Oh great you got your garden going. Of course the few things I want to plant I havnt been able to because of our weather. And thankfully I had'nt.
