Default Low carb Slim Fast Question

I am really trying to stick to a low carb lifestyle and have done South Beach and Atkins. I like both ways of eating. I was wondering if anyone has had success with Slim Fast low carb meal bars or shakes? I had used Slim Fast years ago and lost a lot of weight. Also, how would you count the carbs with those products? Thanks!

I've been using Slim Fast shakes for lunch. I count calories rather than carbs so I buy the one with the lowest calories. There is regular slim fast, low carb slim fast and optima slim fast. the regular has 220 calories, the other two have 180 calories. I also usually have something to get my teeth around too, like celery or carrot sticks or bell pepper strips. It's boring but it takes the guesswork out of what you're consuming for one meal a day.

Andrea, I've never used either of those. but I'm sure if you look at the back you could see the carb count....and remember to subtract the fiber. But you might want to beware of the sugar content. Not sure about the low carb options of those as I've not looked myself. Let us know what you find out!!

Thanks Brenda! I thought that sometimes substituting the Slim Fast would come in handy on those busy days. I am going to check into it the next I'm at Walmart.

Hi Andrea, I've never tried Slim Fast LC, but I'm going to get some tomorrow at Walmart. I'll let you know how it goes for me. I'm hoping they taste good.

They are very handy for busy days and also for days when I don't feel in control of food. I've always done very well with weight loss with the Carb Sollutions bars for breakfast, 2 gms carbs, or the Atkins' drinks (I don't like the Atkins' bars) and, I really do better when I have those bars and drinks on hand.

I am hoping the the Slim Fast bars tastes good.

I also like Macadamia nuts, string cheese and celery for a fast meal.
