LA Weight Loss - LAWL Losers & Friends - April '05Star 04-26-2005, 05:40 PM Fiona - I'm down 56...some to go - gulp.... By the way, how is the training going for the MS walk? vibrantecho 04-26-2005, 06:13 PM Star - slowly! I haven't been getting into the gym like I should (what with new horses and offers on houses and all that stuff), I plan to get back into it this week. May 18th is the starting mark for their "official" 18-week training schedule, so I'd like to able to do 4 miles by then, cause that's the minimum on the schedule. Fiona Chklithunder 04-26-2005, 06:25 PM Hi Everyone - I've been lurking today and trying to get caught up. I've had sooo much going on these past few days... but I won't ramble. Just a quick comment on the Jello Shots... DO NOT USE RUM. They taste horrible with rum, like a fuzzy navel gone bad. I am a rum drinker and so I tried to make them that way the first time out (vodka gives me headaches), but for the Jello Shots, use the vodka every time. Also, for containers, go to Wendy's, order a salad and then "borrow" a bunch of the little ketchup containers to put the Jello shots in. I hope to post with you all tomorrow. vibrantecho 04-26-2005, 09:31 PM Finished my first day back "on the wagon" almost OP - I had half a glass of Applebee's raspberry lemonade with lunch. Yummy fajitas, using only two of the whole wheat torillas (really not sure whether to count these as two starches or one, because they were SMALL) and then steak and salad for dinner. Kept my hand out of both the candy jar and the soda fridge all day! :D I need to get two more fruits in...somewhere. Have a good night everyone - sleep tight! Fiona haylo921 04-26-2005, 11:33 PM Hey girls, fiona I am not sure but I thought that 1/2 of a tortilla was one startch. I guess it is something I need to look into. I do remember asking the girl, does it make a difference what kind they are you know flour, corn, white, wheat and she said no. No matter what 1/2 tortilla and it is one startch. vibrantecho 04-27-2005, 12:50 AM Well cool - cause these tortillas were actually 1/4 of a whole tortilla, and I only had two - so if I wanted, I've got a starch left. Too bad it's 11:00 at night and I'm going to bed in 5 minutes! Sweet dreams :cloud9: Fiona SyracuseNY 04-27-2005, 08:04 AM Julie: Your clothes swap sounds like fun. Fiona: Congrats on being (better) on plan. Nice that DH is joining you. WARNING... you may think it's easier for both of you to be OP, but if it was my husband - he'd drive me crazy because he would be 100% POP and point out each time I didn't do something 100%. Good Luck. Your on the purple, so your protein and starches I think are different than us on Gold/Blue. My sister always gets more food than me, she's on Purple. And, in her CC menu, she gets 2 slices of pizza. I feel that I'm getting ripped off by only being allowed 1 (and have only done that about 4 time in a year). Star: With cutting back on the exercise, you will be suprised at how much time you have. I cut back to 4-5 hours a week and I'm liking it and it just seems more livable - I'm not running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. LOL! Remember last week I was riding my bike, well went to the gym on Monday and my cheeks (butt) were killing my yesterday. See what 1 week of changing exercise can do. I'll have to switch off between the 2 in the same week. Been raining here most of the week, so can't get any biking in. The lawn needs mowing and I'm hoping to get that done at some point. First mowing of the season. LOL! That's right, no more mowing for you and DH. What will you do? LOL! Hey, finally got that heart rate monitor I wanted for my BD and can't wait to try it out tonight at the gym. Chklithunder, thanks for the info on the rum as far as Jello Shots. Went to the COD yesterday and I was so excited, I was down .2 - but have finally gotten below 161. I'm now, 160.2! Whoowhooo! Just think, if I didn't eat that sandwich steak the night before, I could have been down to 159. That was what the counselor said. Geesh! They are tough to please! I'm going to the Spagetti Warehouse tomorrow night for dinner and a mystery with some girls from work. Should be fun, and tough to stick to plan. I hope they serve olive oil with their Italian Bread because then I will be able to resist it. If they serve butter, I'm in trouble. Hoping they have something without the plan limits. I'm going to need help at being OP. Have a good day everyone, and I'll check back later. BTW, where is Athena been? Hope she hasn't fallen off plan? Hugs to all, Sy textjewel 04-27-2005, 08:53 AM Good morning, chicks! Wow Sy - it's happening, slowly and surely! AND is today your BD? Or is it tomorrow? Is your dinner tomorrow a mystery play? BTW I've gotten the same talk - I was told yesterday that beef stays longer in your system - I think it's because of the fat. . . So that's why they're pushing chicken and fish. If I'm having beef, to have it for lunch not dinner. It's worth a try, I guess. Carmen - maybe it's too much rum? Maybe splitting it 50% vodka and 50% rum would improve the flavor, while keeping the kick? Fiona - I agree that 1/2 tortilla is 1 starch for us purple folks. I bought some of those bigger whole wheat tortillas that are 90 cals each and count it for 2 starch and try to have it for lunch. And then have a starchless dinner. WTG on keeping the temptation at bay. And it will be easier if your DH is following the plan, except if he becomes the food police! Haylo - if you're worried about the sups, maybe a phone call would do the trick? Hi Irish! I know for me that it's perfectly normal to maintain for a few days, and then drop a pound or more in a day - I think that we hold on to water for some reason, and then release it. I'm pulling for you to get that 2 pounds this week! Hope you're enjoying your brussel sprouts! (I hate them, you can have my portion) Hey Star, you are the LAWL angel. I'm interested in seeing what plan they put you on if you stall. I mean, will you up your exercise again when you reach goal? Mandy - I have a planned shopping date in mid-May for vacation clothes, so I'm saving up my fashion therapy for then. I do have some 16's that I wear now, and really enjoy. I already have a pile of clothes to bring to a consignment store, just have to find one to bring them to! Do mention your exercise to the center - it seems that 5 hours is the magic number to up your plan. But they won't do it until you stall - and that's probably for a few weeks. I'm wondering what happened to Jen??? What did the pajama-clad nutrionist say??? And Keri??? And Athena??? Hugs to all, Julie Karen 04-27-2005, 09:58 AM Good Morning Chicks, Sy...HAPPY BIRTHDAY.. :gift: :balloons: Well, this is my last day of work then it's off to Talladega for 5. I'll be back to work on Tuesday... I got all my last minute things done this morning. When DH gets home, he will pack up the coolers and have everything in the truck ready to go. All I'll have to do is change clothes and we'll be out the door..Geez, we are so ready for this..  We will be taking Scooter an Buoy with us (dog & cat) so I had to get their things packed as well. This will be Buoy's first Talladega (not sure if he'll be scared or not) but Scooter is an old pro at this..He's been to almost as many races as we have... Ok Chicks, Have to get some work done this morning and then I'll be free to play... :D Star 04-27-2005, 10:35 AM :coffee: Morning Chicks- It's Wednesday and raining. It is suppose to rain everyday until Sunday. That's okay with me cuz I really like the rain, clouds and gloomy skies :dunno: Always have. Carmen - Chick - you seem to be an expert on jello shots  My kind of Chick! Fiona - Isn't it funny how easy it is to go back on plan :?: Makes me wonder why I was off plan for so long  About walking - so yes you have been very busy, you'll be able to train when the time gets closer I'm sure. I think that is called pressure  About the tortilla, on the gold plan a 6" tortilla is 1/2 starch :hungry: A 4" whole wheat pita is 1 starch. Geez, I remember when I first went to LAWL pita's weren't even on plan - period - so the plan is changing and g=becoming more user friendly :cp: Julie - About my new status as the LAWL  ( ) When I reach goal I'm sure I will step my exercise back up :tread: I know you have heard that the more you exercise, your body gets use to it and it needs more for continued improvement :?: I'm not saying it's fair - it's just what the pros say. Hopefully once I reach goal I will be so thrilled with myself :cheer: physically and mentally, I will do whatever to maintain. Since I have always worked out - that won't change. I'm rambling :blah: Aout your shopping in May - wish I could be there, as I love to shop for clothes ;) In CA we shopped Palm Springs and I kept up with the rich and famous  There were a couple shops that had 75% off sales (that's where I bought my treasures) ;) Sy- Happy birthday :gift: :balloons: Let me know how you like your HRM :?: That 160 looks great on you :cb: :cp: You are my cureent idol and so close to goal. If I would have been half the chick you are, I'd be right there with you  Rusty - Today is your last work day  before the races.....I know you will have fun! Have afew of those jello shots for me  And remember we will be here when you get back! Hi to all you other chicks - current, stalkers and MIA's  vibrantecho 04-27-2005, 10:41 AM Good morning chicks! :coffee2: Woo hoo Happy Birthday Sy!!! :hb: Got any big plans? Drumroll please....after 24 hours back OP, I'm down 1.2!! :dancer: Skipping a fruit and a starch might have something to do with that, though. But I'll take it anyway! RWFKaren - sounds like you have a GREAT long weekend planned! Have a fabulous time. :D Julie - Fiona Irishgirl 04-27-2005, 10:59 AM Morning Chickies  I am feeling a little under the weather today :barf: The only thing I have managed to get into my stomach without upsetting it is a Low Fat Blueberry Muffin...kind of frusterating b/c that puts me off plan for the day. Is that bad thing? textjewel 04-27-2005, 11:05 AM Hi Irish - Sorry that you feel under the weather - I'd probably count that muffin as a starch and a fruit - if it's under 200 cals (I'm going by the cal count for the blueberry breakfast bars that LAWL sells - not that I recommend this practice, mind you). . .It's not a terrible choice - we all have days where we don't feel terrific, and we can only do the best we can! Lot's of hot tea for you today! Julie Irishgirl 04-27-2005, 11:11 AM Thanks Julie..makes me feel a a little better...I :halfempty just feel so guilty for going off plan Star 04-27-2005, 11:13 AM Irish - Being sick is a big job and being sick and on plan is too much.....(JMHO)... Listen to Dr. Julie, take it easy and get better. Fi - Congrats on the fast loss. Wish it stayed this easy! textjewel 04-27-2005, 11:15 AM Why don't you call your center and see what they tell you - or will you be going in today? I'm sure you're not the first sick chick! Hugs, Julie SyracuseNY 04-27-2005, 11:41 AM Thanks for all the birthday greetings. We don't have any 'food' plans for my BD and since I'm on LAWL and only 5.2 lbs from my goal - it's just as well! I'm trying to be an angel student (move over Star). ;) DH got me the HRM that I wanted, and is paying me for the 'full' leg waxing. For my celebration (aka, cake replacement) he purchased me small bag (only 2 serving size) of carmel corn which is sugar free and sweetened with Splenda. I ATE THE WHOLE BAG! What more could I ask for? Have a great day! Sy textjewel 04-27-2005, 12:00 PM Sy, it sounds like your DH is a keeper! Enjoy every minute of today. Let us know how the HRM goes - I'm still deciding on one. Hugs, Julie MetalChic 04-27-2005, 12:16 PM Happy Birthday Sy! :balloons:  :cp: :hb: :gift: :queen: :cheer: Chklithunder 04-27-2005, 12:20 PM HI Everyone !! SY - Happy Birthday!! :cb:  :gift: :dancer: :flow1: :hb: :spin:  :gift: :cb: I love birthdays. Enjoy lady! Wow. It feels like forever since I've posted. Julie - that may be a good idea to mix the rum with the vodka for the jello shots. I've never tried it that way. Star - I AM quite the Jello-shot-ologist. For all family get togethers that go beyond my immediate family, that is what is requested of me. I have to do Jigglers for the kiddies and then a virtual rainbow of shots for the adults. Rule of thumb at family get togethers, children DO NOT get the Jello in the little cups. My family is so large that I usually buy two 1/2 gals of vodka and make as many shots as that will hold. I usually have no problem finding a volunteer with extra refrigerator space to store a few trays of jello shots for me...trust! Wow...where do I start... The engine in my DHs 14 year old car blew during our SNOWstorm Saturday. We have been down to one car (mine) as we look for another. DH works out in the boonies kinda, while I work downtown and I take the bus anyway. Only thing is, I usually drive to a shopping center about a 1/2 mile away from the house to catch the bus. Now I have to hoof it. It wouldn't be so bad...but its been tough timing my exit from the house (when DS boards the school bus) with making it to the shopping center in time to catch my bus, which runs every 40 minutes. Long story short, we need to find another car...soon. Guess we have to bite the bullet and take on that extra payment. Anyway...I guess it could have been worse. We got 14 inches of snow between Saturday afternoon and Monday morning. A lot of our trees snapped from the weight of the snow and whatnot. I thought I was going to have to walk to the shopping center in all of that snow, but THANK GOD they closed the schools due to the snow so I had to stay home with my DSs. This weather is so very freaky. 14 inches of snow in the yard Monday morning, and now all of it has melted away, because yesterday it was 60 degrees here. Geez!!! I can't make it to the COD in time for WI in the evenings, so I'll have to wait until Saturday. DH has his eye on a car that he wants, so hopefully by this weekend he will have another. :crossed: I am still trying to get caught up from all the posts and from missing work on Monday. I have missed you guys! Mitchypoo 04-27-2005, 12:32 PM :balloons:  :cb:Sy, Happy Birthday!:balloons:  :cb: mandyd26 04-27-2005, 01:44 PM  Hi ladies- I hope you are all doing well today. Happy Birthday Sy! :sunny: :balloons: :wizard: :sumo: I just had to come up with something different. :) Congrats on being sooo close to 159. I just made it under 160 a few weeks ago. It feels good! Julie-That's great. I'm glad you have a shopping trip planned. So it is smart to save up some money and buy everything at once. I just recently found a consignment shop here. I was so thirlled when I found it. I had always bought really nice clothes for my son at a childs consingment shop and thought wouldn't that be great if they had a place like this for adults. I found out they did and now I'm in heaven. I love to consign my clothes and get new smaller clothes. Although lately I feel cheap and sometimes even feel like 14.99 is too much for a pair of levis. this is such a cute smiley.... :bubbles: Well, I'm going to get ready to head to the gym and then I need to go to the COD to find out what I need to do about my plan. I don't want to go in though because I haven't written in my food journal for a few days. :dizzy: ok my son is getting into something. I better go... Mandy videochick 04-27-2005, 01:46 PM Happy B-day, Sy! :gift: :balloons: :wizard: Melissa vibrantecho 04-27-2005, 02:58 PM  Went home for lunch, was walking DH through counting his daily servings...he was shocked  at how many veggies we LAWL-ers eat in a day! :?: So, if DH wants to lose 30 pounds, and isn't eating the bars, do you guys think he should be doing Purple or Red? I know whoever has the e-bay copy of the plans said that it says men should never go lower than Purple, but I assume that's WITH the bars? So should he be on Red instead? I'm trying to figure out what the heck his servings should be, and it's making me :dizzy: ! Anyway, we had a nice OP lunch, and I'm chugging away at my H2O cocktails. :) Fiona Mitchypoo 04-27-2005, 03:33 PM Fiona, i think Red, or maybe even Red Plus. textjewel 04-27-2005, 03:39 PM Mandy, when I haven't written in my journal, I just tell them I forgot it . .. Then I start again the next day. Fiona - it'll be good for DH to get his veggies in . .. If he's not doing the bars then I'd say red definately! Carmen, we missed you too - sorry about the car! Those spring snow storms are really freaky, aren't they - we get one a decade, but never more than 3-4 inches, and then it all melts away the next morning. Fourteen inches is killer, though! Michelle, how are you doing, chickie?? Julie vibrantecho 04-27-2005, 03:52 PM Okay, who can send me the info for the red plan??? Please pretty please! :D Fiona MetalChic 04-27-2005, 04:20 PM :dancer: I got a $25 gift certificate for the mall!:gift: Gotta Love Administrative Professionals Day! On that note, I have work to do...................lol Karen 04-27-2005, 06:20 PM Hello Chicks, Just wanted to drop in and say hello and I'll talk to you all on Tuesday. Have a great week and weekend...I hope we're all LOSERS... ;) Star...Talk to you later... :D mandyd26 04-27-2005, 09:02 PM Fiona- I think the red plan may have 2 dairy. At least that is what the one I bought off of ebay says (spring 05 plan). Maybe next time you go into the center just ask "out of curiousity" and see what they say and then let us know if you find anything out. Well, it was a beautiful day here. Sunny and 70 degrees. Solocat was it nice in Salem too? I'm sure it was. I hope we have a few more days like this. It really changes my whole out look on things. Well it's the TOM for me. I should have known it was coming. Yesterday I felt "big" and I was sort of moody. I kind of feel better now having something to blame it on. I've also just been wanting to eat anything and eveything that I shouldn't eat. Luckily I'm doing ok so far. Star- I like the red plan too. I hope that once I tell them I'm working out they'll put me on it too. :) Hope you're all having a good night. It's so weird being 3 hours behind most of you. Bye Bye Mandy mom2skyler 04-27-2005, 09:28 PM I looked on e-bay for the updated plan but I couldn't find it. I only found bars, supplements, and cook books. Has anyone found the plan on e-bay lately? I'm just curious - maybe I did something wrong. I've been reading some old posts this evening since my dh is out of town on business. You ladies are really great. I've learned a lot from reading up on your old posts. Have a great weekend if I don't see you again before Friday. SyracuseNY 04-28-2005, 08:02 AM Morning everyone! Karen, have a great time in Taladaga and have a jello shot for me. MetalChic: Nice that your organization appreciates your work. WTG on the 8's. Great they got you a g.c. and not a bunch of food! Nice group! Fiona: Can't believe that your co-workers didn't reconize your work yesterday. Geesh! Mandy, thanks for the reminder about the diary, I didn't write in mine for some reason. Better do it while I'm remembering. Have a great day everyone. Sy textjewel 04-28-2005, 08:55 AM Good morning, everyone! I'm going to be at a Mystery Fan's conference this weekend (starting at noon tomorrow), so wish me luck on the food. There is a banquet on Friday, usually that's okay, except for the desert - but have to remember that vacation is only 5 1/2 weeks away. Mom2Skyler - well, I checked yesterday, and couldn't find any of the plans! that was the first time I've ever seen that, usually, there are several. I'm wondering if someone put their foot down and forced everyone to remove it? What was your question again? Sy - hope you have a terrific time at dinner tonight! Now, maybe because yesterday was your birthday, you forgot to your diary?? Mandy, I imagine that the red plan is probably pretty close to maintainence? what did the ebay plan show you for that? Karen/RWF - VROOM, VROOM - don't drive after those jello shots! Melissa - enjoy that mall fashion therapy! I went to WI, and I told my counsler my stomach was a little off. I did WI, and when I went on Monday I was 186.6 and I lost over 1/2 lb. :cb: I had a low fat blueberry muffin for breakfast A Lean Cuisine French Bread Pizza for lunch, and then for dinner my neighbor had vegtable pizza so I had a slice of that, and a chicken wing. I am having a bad PC day- I cannot get updates loaded completely - I am tired of watching the download thingy go by . .. I am almost at the point of having the Geek Squad in . . . . Fiona - good luck with the house hunting! And WTG on the continued drop - don't we all wish we'd lose that regularly??? Star, my weekend doesn't start until tomorrow - just wanted to share it and pick up some skinny vibes. WTG on being down at COD! (Don't crack the whip too hard - she does go home with the boss!) Irish - You Go Girl - with the center and your neighbors! Glad that you're feeling better. NOTE- I don't think the center would approve of those muffins every day! Hugs to all, Julie Star 04-28-2005, 03:32 PM Julie - Sending you tons of skinny vibes - BUT my little buddy icons are on strike....... :( Well the ones under 'more' seem to be :?: (So blonde  ) For instance, the ticker I had bugged me so much and I wanted credit for that .1 pound :( I wanted it so much I am willing to disclose my real weight :goodscale....Now chicks - don't laugh at me - laugh with me  I'm hoping to be POP this weekend and be in the next lower 10 spot by Monday :crossed: mandyd26 04-28-2005, 04:02 PM Well, I went to the center today and they put me on the Red plan because I'm exercising 5 or more hours a week. Solocat was right in her post it is just 1 dairy. Anyway, It's a lot more food than I'm used to eating. The protein portion sizes are bigger than the gold plan and I get to eat 2 1/2 proteins and 3 starches and one more veggie. I'm kind of scared to do this, but they assured me at the center that it would be ok because if I'm working out that much that I'm going to need the extra food. I'm hoping I'll still lose. Julie- it is a lot like maintainance. The maintainence plans vary depending on which plan you end on. They include more choices and more starches and a bit more protein. I think more fruits and veggies. If you want info on a particular plan just let me know and I'll e-mail it to you. I'm afraid to pass it on now though.. if they're cracking the whip on ebay. :nono: But I'm not selling it or anything, so I'm sure I'm fine. :) Ok so I'm up a bit from yesterday, but it's that TOM, so I'm just going to chalk it up to that. I'm not changing my avatar though! I earned that 80 pounds! ;) Well, I shall be going now. I'm waiting on a call from my DH. His student loan check should be in today. Which means... grocery shopping, paying bills and clothes shopping! woohoo. I'm only going to get one or two things. This money has to help us get current on some utilites and stretch until the beginning of June, so I can't go too overboard. vibrantecho 04-28-2005, 04:08 PM Star, you are great - your posts always make me :D I had an attack of the Munchie Monster a few minutes ago, but it seems to have gone away all on its own, without any "help" from me if you know what I mean (sends evil look at M&M jar on desk!) DH and I are going to a concert tonight with some friends and DSIL. Should be fun, but I'm struggling with what to do for dinner as we both did LCs for lunch and I don't want to commit to cooking anything because of time constraints...maybe Subway, I haven't had Subway in a while. DH is going to be sad, though, cause I don't think he can have his Italian cold cut trio anymore, huh? Bummer for him. Fiona Star 04-28-2005, 04:44 PM Mandy - About being up alittle - don't sweat the small stuff :dizzy: When that jerk TOM visits everything goes haywire  You keep your Avatar - You worked :strong: for it........TOM is no good and will leave you for another chick in no time.... ;) FI - Where is the Munchie Monster :rollpin: Please get those M&M's out of your sight :o There is no way I could torture myself by having to look  at :chockiss: chocolate all day :stress: I vote for Subway, it's on plan and fast.....DH will just have to suck it up and have something on plan  vibrantecho 04-28-2005, 04:53 PM Star, I told him I wouldn't recommend the italian sub, but that I wouldn't scold him if that's what he wants - it's his waistline :sumo: and his conscience!  Fiona Star 04-28-2005, 05:02 PM FI - Excellant advice to the man  And remember - the bigger :sumo: he gets, the smaller :bb: you look  haylo921 04-29-2005, 01:30 AM Hello everyone, I went to COD today and the couselor told I could be a poster child :cloud9: :cheer: . I guess my center wasn't so doomful today. Actually, I did really good I lost a little over a pound between Tuesday and Today (thursday) which I was kind of suprised because on Tuesday I went in a little earlier then usual and today I went in a little later the usual. I just thougth that since I was weighing so late in the day that there might not be much of a change if any. Well tomorrow if friday, and i am excited, unfortunatly I will probably spend most of my weekend typing away my thesis. I wonder how many calories you burn typing? mandy: I am on the red plan, that is what they put me on when I started, because I told them I exercise 5 hours a week (not this past two weeks, but will be back on track starting tommorrow) anyways, it does seem to be a lot of food, but I have had sucess on it. Not to mention I really like it, I was telling my friend who just joined LAWL, I don't know if I want them to lower me as I lose weight, I just feel, like I am able to spread my food out, althought sometimes I do feel like I can't eat any thing else, on those days I just drink V8 for my vegatables instead of eating them, and I try to eat a little lighter stuff. solocat 04-29-2005, 02:13 AM Ughhhh! Went to a banquet at the men's max security prison (thank you to the people who come and facilitate classes for a transition class). I ate entirely too much and too wrong! Came home and popped a carb ender...and then read that you are supposed to take them before! Figures! I should have known it was one of those days when the Fwy was at a halt headed back down to Salem for this banquet! Oh well, tomorrow is a new day! I know what I need to do this weekend! Work hard at being POP! SyracuseNY 04-29-2005, 07:55 AM Good Morning! Fiona: Great at being down 2 in 2 days. Wow, your on a roll! Maybe now that DH decided to try LA with you and you being his counselor is helping you stay on track. Whatever, keep up the great work! Star: It bugs me too about the ticker not displaying the exact numbers, now that I see your's, I'm going to update mine. Thanks chickie! Julie: Are your PC problems resolved? Haylo: Good luck on the red plan. I had reservations when they switched me from Gold to Blue and I can't say that it's really working (as I'm not at goal yet) - but it's not any worst either. Plus, I like the extra 1/2 protein and starch. Solo: Boy, I know what you mean. I went to the Dinner & a Mystery last night. First time I've been out to dinner in a year that I haven't been able to stay OP. The menu selection was a choice of about 4-6 items, all were not OP choices. Plus, they had the salad already sitting on the table with the Italian dressing already on it. Bread was sour dough (which I think is my least favorite bread - which was good for me), and they served it with a margine spread (rather have butter or nothing at all - another good thing for me), but the food choices were either fried, or huge. Some choices were 15 layer lasagna, eggplant parm, chicken parm, meatball-sausage-spagetti. I choose the chicken parm. It wasn't that big when it arrived, but it was fried. Tasted good. It wouldn't have been so bad and I wouldn't have eatten so much BUT, I normally eat dinner about 5:00pm and we didn't get served until about 8:30pm, can you say STARVING! Well, I ate what they served, and the cup of ice cream they gave for dessert. Totally not OP. I was planning on going to the COD after work today, but think I will try going early tomorrow (Sat). I will be getting in extra water today too. The mystery part of the dinner was fun, and funny. Lots of laughing! It was the first time and we were all kind of duh on what to do. Next time we will be an experienced audiance and know what to expect (and what they expect of us). LOL! Have a great OP day everyone, and I'll be checking in later. Hugs, Sy textjewel 04-29-2005, 09:46 AM Good morning, chickies Thanks, Sy, for asking about the computer - it is not solved - anytime I try to download an update, it goes haywire. . . My DB is going to try to reinstall norton this weekend (I went ahead and bought another security package so I'd have some protection), but norton seems to have integrated itself into my Word and Excel, and . . . oh well, it all continues . . .But still may end up having to bring it in to experts to get XP fixed right . . I hope you enjoyed the mystery play, and I think you did really well at refusing the things that you didn't like! My problem is that I tend to eat everything placed in front of me whether I like it or not! Haylo - WTG on being down this week! I'm sure you burn lots of calories typing your thesis! Mandy - I'm sure TOM will be visiting me in the next few days, so don't worry, it'll be gone soon. Fiona, I'm dying to know - what did you and DH have for dinner last night? The only way I can survive the munchie monster is to not have the stuff around me. .(throw out those M&Ms!!!) When I go out with people I'm generally scared enuf to be OP that I head to the carrot sticks! Cathy, it is only one meal, if you're good, and keep the I-blew-it-may-as-well-keep-on-eating monster off your shoulder, you'll be back on track in no time! (what would your DD say???) Star, was Megan glad to go home after a day of you cracking the whip? I think that you will be under that 10 pound marker in no time - and BTW, the clothes from last year fit, right? You all have a good POP weekend! Wish me luck in finding the cutest guys to flirt with and to keep me away from the food! Hugs, Julie Irishgirl 04-29-2005, 10:05 AM Good Morning Chickies  Beautiful morning out here in Western Mass!! :flow2: :df: So I went to :goodscale yesturday and I am down over 1/2 a lb again!! :cb: Monday 186.6 Wed 186.0 Thurs 185.4 I'll take it, esp considering I haven't been sticking strickly to plan because of being under the weather a little bit. I have just been being really careful, yestuday I did ok. I had my coffee for breakfast ( wasn't hungry yet). Then for lunch I had a small salad, a lean cuisine pizza, and a fruit n yougurt parfait. I was so happy that I lost, and this weekend will be really easy for me to stick to plan! How is everyone else doing. Pretty soon we'll be in a new month thread!! auditgirl 04-29-2005, 10:11 AM Good morning all, It's been a long couple of weeks and I'm no where near caught on posts, but will keep trying :-) I've been in a training class for work and have been super busy in the evenings keeping up with class work and life in general. Was doing well OP until TOM and then I went a little nuts...I'm up about 2lbs right now, but have POP for the last 2 days so hopefully that will go away. I never got an official word back from the nutritionist because the center decided I had eaten too much red meat, salmon and pork all in one week...I never even thought about it...so now I'm going back to turkey and chicken as my staples. I put myself on hold this week at the center to make up for my junk food junkie weekend and will start fresh again on Monday. Hope everyone is doing well and I'll try to catch up on posts today. Take care, Jen Star 04-29-2005, 10:40 AM :dancer: Just typed a long post, addressed everyone and lost it - I HATE it when that happens  here goes the short version..... Julie - Meagan liked working here and I liked taking her to lunch. Thanks for reminding me that my summer clothes fit better! About finding the guy at the weekend event, scan the room, spot him, don't move right in, talk to others, then wander his way. Remember you are one hot chick (under construction)....he's lucky to talk to you! Irish - Way to go on the loss, lets keep up the good work. Haylo - So you deserve your name? do you have wings too? Good work on plan. Solo - I think it is good for us to plan our weekends, it makes it easier to carry thru. I always wonder what you guys do to make the weekends easier. I get up eat breakfast, get my water, fruit and bars and hit the road. My mom and I go out to lunch but can always find on-plan foods where we eat. It helps me to have all the other on-plan stuff with me....how about the rest of you? Sy- About the ticker, I'm was alittle humiliated to post it. I plan on using it as a motivational tool. I think when I got to 160/161 I was happy with how I was looking, then gained at Christmas and then gained on vacation. Not happy anymore and this time I'm not stopping til I reach goal. Jen - good to see you back, missed you! Hi to everyone else too - later chicks..... vibrantecho 04-29-2005, 11:21 AM Morning chicks! :flow2: Okay, we did Subway last night, and DH was a trooper and had chicken right along with me. :) You know, since I've started LAWL I've almost always chosen the Subway "atkins" wrap over the sub roll, just cause you KNOW that the roll is way more than 2 starches, even though they generously let it count for 2 on plan, and the wrap just seems like the lesser of two evils. But I finally actually looked at the nutrition info, and the bread is actually the better choice! :dizzy: The 6" wheat roll has 80 more calories than the wrap (200 vs.120) but half as much fat (2.5 vs. 4.5 grams) and half the sodium, too (360 mg vs. 680!). That probably explains why this morning I weighed the same as yesterday. Well, that and the two cans of Dew I drank :nono: in hopes of killing the monster headache :headache: I had all day. (You know what finally worked? Taking the four Advil I should have taken in the first place. ) Well, my desk is piling up and my boss could wander by at any minute, so I'd better get to it. TGIF! Fiona SyracuseNY 04-29-2005, 11:47 AM Fiona: Thanks for the info on Subway. Hey, do you drink 'regular' Mt Dew or 'diet'? I remember being allowed 'diet' soda, and I don't think having a 'diet' Mt Dew is going off plan. Some people don't give up their 'regular' coffee. Glad that DH went along with it. LOL! TGIF. Hey, DH can't wait for my trip to the Carolina's because he doesn't drink 'caffeine' and the only place that I've found Diet Caffeine Free Mt Dew was at a Piggly Wiggley in lower NC on the way back from Myrtle Beach. We may be able to find it in Nagshead, NC on 'our' vacation - I'll be checking it out! Sy Star 04-29-2005, 11:51 AM Fi - You have a headache becuz you think so much....lol Glad it's better... Sy - Can we please switch tickers??????????????????????????? Not the star and hand, I mean the NUMBERS.........lol vibrantecho 04-29-2005, 12:10 PM Sy - I'm a regular gal, all the way. I wish I liked Diet Dew, that would make life so much simpler  but I don't like the taste of it at all. I'm better off drinking water, anyway. Star - I guess I can't deny that! :dizzy: LOL! Fiona Star 04-29-2005, 01:01 PM FI - I met that as a compliment - you always have so many smart  and things going on.....like my mother says "your a mover and a shaker" ;) SyracuseNY 04-29-2005, 01:07 PM Fiona: Your right, water would be our better choice. I know you know that it's lots of wasted calories when drinking the Dew. Maybe you could wean yourself off it by adding 1/2 regular and 1/2 diet. I use to be a 'regular' soda/pop person. I even got DH to switch. He only drinks the diet drinks made with Splenda (with the exception of an occassional CF Diet Coke, or if there is any Diet CF Mt Dew in the house). He likes Diet Rite (Raspberry) and Waist Watchers brands (Orange) are his favorites. Have you ever tried the newer ones made with Splenda? Not preaching, just trying to help out!? Star, LOL and the answer is NOOOOway... :faint: solocat 04-29-2005, 01:07 PM Good morning! Thanks for the kick Jukie! I told my DD what you posted and she laughed. The good thing is, I woke up feeling "ugh" from the food I had last night - so more incentive to stay OP. I'll chug down lots of H2O today and hopefully it will not have caused too much gain. :crossed: Sy - You asked what I (and others) did on the weekends to maintain. If it is a weekend I am at home (and not at DB), it is fairly easy because I have fresh veggies and fruits. If I head up to his house, I tend to bring along extra fruit and things like snap peas, yogurt, etc. He has been supportive and we usually eat at home, so he will have chicken or something similar and just add the extras for himself. I bought the carb enders - just because. Actually the counselor I had said if you eat the CC meals, they are meant to be taken with a Carb Ender. I was feeling generous with my $$, so will try a bottle and see what happens (not that I eat many CC meals). She also told me I wasn't eligible for the LAWL Shakes, I guess because I refused the lites. I only wanted them because of a couple recipes in the cookbook that called for them. I suppose it is a godsend though, because then I can't make the desserts and well, desserts can be a downfall for me. Had an arborist out this morning and the quote to take out some trees and shrubbery was really reasonable! I may have a yard all cleaned up and redone yet! Okay, I am off to get my hair cut and then to go plant my veggie garden and some flowers. Have great weekends! mandyd26 04-29-2005, 01:55 PM Hey Chickies- Well yesterday was my first day on the Red Plan and I actually lost .2 pounds. Yippee. So I'm not going to be worried anymore. Haylo-Thanks for letting me know how the red plan is working for you. That gives me more hope. :) Also, if you continue working out 5 hours a week, I don't think they will drop your plan. I think it is just the red plan from here on out for you. Fiona-that's so great that your DH picked the on plan item. I also remember finding that out about the wraps versus the bread. It was a shock to me. I think that's happened with a few other things also. I try to remember that now that low carb doesn't always mean healthier. So I actually went on a "date" with my DH last night. It was fun. We had a nice dinner. I ordered something close to being on plan, and told myself if I gained it was alright and like I said above I actually lost .2 pounds. So I'm feeling really good. I decided that I'm starting anew with working out and being on the Red Plan. I'm going to try to look at it as a beginning of being really Healthy and not the ending to my weight loss. I think thinking of it as an ending puts a lot of pressure on myself. Yesterday I went shopping and eights are fitting better, but still not great, but 10's are feeling a tiny bit loose, so I only bought 1 thing with all of my money and I can't really wear it yet cause it's pretty tight. :( I could get away with it, but I'd feel uncomfortable all day. Ok I've rambled on long enough today. :) Talk to you chicks soon. Mandy Star I like your ticker too. You know how I looove to be accurate. I'm going to change mine soon. Maybe once TOM has left. Star 04-29-2005, 04:43 PM To some men a well balanced diet means having a beer in both hands..... vibrantecho 04-29-2005, 05:33 PM Happy weekend everybody! Fiona P.S. I've started a thread for May - see you all there starting Sunday! haylo921 04-29-2005, 09:45 PM Well I just got back from Johnny Carinos and I believe I did my best at staying OP. I had a grillled chicken salad and a glass of wine. It was yummy. Star: I do not have wings yet, but they are starting to grow a little, hmm... maybe i will become a Victoria Secret Model. Mandy: I hope you r right about them keeping me on the red plan, because I really like, I don't feel like I am depriving myself. Well, everyone have a good weekend. Tomorrow is COD day, and TOM is also dropping by for a vist  buttonsinabox 04-30-2005, 11:18 AM Hi, Ive been laughing at all of your posts for about a month now.. that's about when I started LAWL.. I have a question for all you losers.. Im on the gold plan, been going for almost a month like I said. I lost 5 lbs the first week and thats it, I go up a little down a little but I can't seem to go any farther.. Did any of you do that and if so what made you break past that block??? They can't seem to figure it out. I asked them yesterday if maybe Im not eating enough still, since that seems to have been my problem before on my own.. If I hear one more time to change up Im going to scream.. LOL This is really driving me insane I could have gone for the mesotherpy shots for the 2K that I spent losing that 5lbs LOL..
