Weight Loss Surgery - CNN Article: Ins required to cover WLS

Hi everyone ~

I don't post on here often, I had my Gastric Bypass surgery in November 1999.

I wondered if everyone saw this article on CNN today. It's about Connecticut, but could have much larger ramifications.

oh this is wonderful!!!! thank you! but this legislator raised my hackles!!!!!

"I would rather see people try to do it the harder way, exercise and eating properly," D'Amelio said. "I know it's a struggle ... I think it's the safest route."

spoken like someone who hasn't a clue!!!

however, on the other hand, we all realize that there are people having the surgery who haven't tried everything, who think it's an easy way out, who fail at it, and who even die from it.

but does that mean that this surgery that has saved many of us should not be covered under insurance? not in my opinion!

Yay for Connecticut!!!! In referrence to the legislator, it's common knowledge then when one enters politcs, common sense flies out the window.
