Weight Watchers - Weight Watchers & Protein Shakes?

I was just wondering if it is ok to have a protein shake on weight watchers once in a while, or a slim fast shake - with a peice of fruit or some veggies of course - if there is nothing else I feel like eating, so instead of eating something unhealthy having a shake instead??

If you have the points for it by all means use them. However to me they are a waste as they don't fill me up. I get more food for those 4-6 points that protein shakes take up.

Having a slim fast once in a while is okay. :)
I occasionally have one for breakfast if I am on the run and unable to pick up something on the way or when travelling. I don't like to use that many points on a liquid breakfast though so I try not to do it too often.

I do the same, I'm usually busy at work and sometimes fruit and a slim fast shake is enough for me. It does fill me up.

Me too! If I have stuff to do on my lunch hour and can't sit down for a sandwich and salad I grab a Kashi go lean bar or shake. But, it's once in a blue moon and not all the time.

Slim Fast is not a protein shake - it's full of sugar. Not a good choice when we can eat real food and get full.

While the original had a lot of sugar their new line has less and about the same as other protein shakes:
Optima Shakes
Optima Shakes have:
50% less sugar than our original product line
50% Daily Value of Calcium
24 Vitamins and Minerals
5 grams of Fiber
10 grams of Protein
And their Low-Carb line has only 1 gram of sugar
Calcium 40%
Protein 20g
So while I agree eating food is better there are options for a 'pinch' and 'on the go' days.

I'm not a big fan of processed food, but in a pinch, if I'm in a hurry, I like the EAS carb control shakes. Sweetened with splenda...100 calories 2 grams of fat 3 grams of fiber and like 20 grams of protein and high in calcium too....2 points. The dark chocolate fudge are my favorite and I'll have one with a chocolate vitatop and a piece of fruit for a quick and tasty and low point breakfast on the go or for an afternoon snack.
