HEY CHICKIES!

I'M BACK! Sorry I've been MIA...the wedding details are stressing me out! 26 days to go! I can't wait til the day after when we can relax and enjoy our time in Vegas.

How's everyone doing? Anything new going on?

Fiona - Did DH get the job? How's real-estate going?

Welcome to all the Newbies! I will eventually read the tons of posts I've missed and get to know you gals! :grouphug:

I haven't been to the center since the 18th and I am forcing myself to go WI tomorrow. Who knows what the scale will say, BUT I'm getting really close to the One-derland! YEAH...almost there!

I was on eBay yesterday and almost bought one of those Ab-Doers...Anyone ever try one of those? I thought I could sit on it when I'm watching my shows...by the way did any of you watch "The Bachelorette"???? I can't believe she turned both of the guys down! I thought for sure she was into Jerry...Didn't care much for John Paul.

:goodvibes "Skinny Vibes To All" :goodvibes

Talk to you all later!

OK Chickies!

I just finished reading over 20 pages and I'm pooped! :dizzy: Here's a couple things on my mind before I head off to bed:

Julie - Congrats on making it to "Onederland"! I'm right behind you! :cheer:

Fiona - HAPPY BIRTHDAY and CONGRATS on DHs new job! Good Luck with choosing the new car! Who get's to drive it? It sounds like it would make a nice real-estate car! :D

Welcome Athena, Kimmy, Hoosierchick & Jennifer T! and Welcome Back Melissa! :grouphug:

Star - love you little verse on carb diets...I've been meaning to learn another language, just looking for that scientific proof that it would be better for my health! :lol3:

Good Morning Diane - glad your back. THe wedding will be great and don't wish it to be over too soon - It will be gone before you know it - just try to enjoy every single beautiful moment.

20 pages - wow - when I get home I usually have three or four and its hard to remember everything. But you'll catch up.

Found the exercise yard last night too - great job Star!

Karen I assume your peddling away this morning?? ;)

Just wanted to say good morning to everyone - :coffee: I'll be back tonight. Have a great OP day and/or WI.

Hugs to all.

Well, the snow was not as bad as they predicted so far, only had 4-5 inches of snow overnight, and it wasn't windy - so made it to work like a normal day. More snow expected all week. TG for snowblowers and the great job the DPW snowplows. How did you BAS and Starlynn make out? Looks like parts of both states are getting snow as well. Have a great day and I'll check back later. Good morning, chicks!

Weight this AM is 196 - I guess the 194 was just a mirage. But that's still 1 down from 197, so only 7 more to go for March! Also having lunch with ex-work buddies today, and it's Thai, so I'll have to be careful . . They have these wonderful Mango daquiries - which I'll just ignore - this time.

Diane/bridezilla - I was just wondering how you were! Your wedding is SO close. Which hotel are you staying in?

Sy - our projected 10 inches of snow turned out to be 4 or 5 - still pretty to look at. I am also so tired of cold weather. I want to have the windows OPEN. I want the days to be LONG. Sounds like you had a great workout yesterday. Is your workout buddy someone you know from work?

Beverly - just a thought, but have you tried to log how many calories you're taking in - try fitday, for example? You may not be eating enough, considering what I've read on the Beachbody sites - especially since you're working out so much. You shouldn't go below 1200, and maybe you should bump it up to 1500?

Fiona - it's getting close! How are you doing on the Self logging? I must admit, haven't logged one workout yet :( but have hopes for today.

Jennifer - let us know how you're doing.

Michelle - how are you, chickie?

Hugs to all, and stay warm (and POP)
Julie

Morning chicks! :coffee2:

Well, today is a brand new day and a brand new month! NO cheating starting today! I've already had breakfast and I'm going to fill up my water now....there.

Diane, hi! We missed you! You know what's funny? I didn't have that running around crazy sensation about my wedding until the morning of! I was kind of looking forward to it, but I guess my mom and I pulled everything together too well, because for the last two months before the big day, there was nothing to do! :dizzy:  But don't do what I did and realize at 7 a.m. on THE DAY that you don't have programs, or have the woman scheduled to do your hair be a complete moron so that you have to have it completely done over by a different stylist and hold up your entire wedding party by an hour..oy!!!

Have a great day everyone!

Sy - We have 4 inches of snow and about 3 or 4 more on the way :(

Tam- :snf: I'm sending you some snow.....do me a favor and take it all ;)

Needless to say this weather isn't good for the sale of our house :(

Bridezilla - Hey girl, I was wondering where you were. Was kinda looking for your story on Forensic Files, "Bridezilla MIA - Suspect Future Groom".....
Looks like you are doing good with your weight! Oh how was your shower?

Bev -Too bad we don't live closer, our DGD's, who are the same age,, could play and have tea parties, you could bake and I could eat :cofdate: Aren't they fun at this age. Speaking of babies, I bought all 3 of my GB's easter baskets yesterday. I know it is alittle early, but I saw one that was a Nascar basket and had to get that for David before they were gone, so I picked up the girls ones too......

Julie - Just wanted to say have a great lunch and congrats on that 196 weight - you rock chick! Oh and have one Mango daquiries  for me okay?

Rusty - Are you under supervision today  Come out and play when you can.....

Tam - Do you live in NC? We are talking about a bike trip to NC in May with DH's cousin. They go there once a year, thru the Blue Ridge Mountains? I would love to go but already have two trips planned, don't know if my boss would let me have three :?:

Later Chickies........

Someone asked how i'm doing and i'm a tad embarrassed, again i let things get to me, got negative and just felt so defeated. But i made myself go to WI last night, thought i should just go face it and be accountable and i was down....:) Again, i learned a lesson, guess i'm a slow learner though. So i'm back on track, trying to change my attitude.......Going to do measurements next WI, curious if it's changed, will try to check in and post individually maybe at lunch.

Star - yes I do live in NC. I live in the Raleigh area. The mountains are nice, especially in May, good temp.

Did anyone else buy the new plan?

I got my hand slapped yesterday for having a Steak and a sweet potato during the same meal. She said "I know the plan says you can do that, but try not to ok?"

What the heck is the new plan for then? jeeezz

Tams, you must have not had anything to eat today or the Green Plan is making you dilerious because I thought that I read that you wished you had snow? You can have all of ours too! Tams, my only thinking about the center's comments are that because you are so close to your goal - they are offering suggestions on what to do to get there quicker? And, so old habits are hard to break (I'm sure some enjoy scolding us for our minor slips of their plan and I agree that some things don't make sense at all). One thing that still blows me away is that we can buy LA Snacks and eat them everyday for every starch and no scolding (anyone in their right mind and who can read knows that they are chock full of sodium, fat and about 110 to 120 calories a bag). Then, if others on the plan that don't choose to buy the snacks can (as an example) only have 2 slices of diet bread in 1 day, count that as 2 starches (which equals 80 calories). Hummm? Keep your chin up and don't listen to all they have to say. Our common sense has to blow them off when they are being unreasonable. Hey Tam, where you down again at WI? You are inching your way to goal!

Julie: I have never heard of a Mango Daquiry, it sounds so good! I think mangos are my favorite fruit! Have a nice lunch! How is the shoulder feeling?

Diane/Bride: Nice you see you back. Wow, almost wedding day. Hope you make it to One-der-land before walking down the isle! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Hey, where is Karen and aag118 today? Isn't it funny that I can sometimes only remember the screen names. Sorry Athena!

Star: Where do you have your trips planned for? I think you mentioned 1 was Flordia - and where is the second one? I want to go on vacation so badly!

Fiona: Your right, new month - good luck! Don't we all need that! LOL! Did you make it to the gym yet?

Mitchy: Glad your back on track, that's 1/2 the battle! Good luck at WI and measurements!

Hugs to all, and sorry if I missed anyone. Sy

Tammy- I had the opposite reaction at my center, that I wasn't using enough former limited and mixing things. They told me completely ignore the old way of doing things...so strange how the centers differ by so much. I get the feeling that my center is corporate, but not quite sure why I think that. Do you think it matters whether they are corporate or franchises?

I felt the sales pitch a little last week about doing Take-off...I was up a bit on Monday from my bad girl weekend, but back to old weight on wed and down another 1.4 pounds on Friday and both Wed and Fri I got the push to do take off, even though i was losing...whatever.

I've been busy but have managed to keep up with the posts, just haven't written...wishing all of you a POP on day!

Then for July 4th we are going to Park City, Utah for a family reunion, on my first husbands side. It will just be his sister and her family and my family,we were always like sisters and still are. That is gonna be awesome. One year I want to go for the Sundance Film Festival....she goes every year. That is their second home, they live in Sugarland, Texas.
So I'm not sure about the trip in May??? But sure would like to go.....oh and we have a condo in Orlando, but won't be going this year.

Hey Chicks! Glad to see that March is starting off so good for so many of us. All this talk about snow in inches and all we are getting is flurries lol. Nothing new as far as WI goes i go tomorrow for that but did weigh this morning on my scale and was down 1 lb from the day before crossing my fingers that this trend continues. I want to lose a total of 2 lbs for this week and was down .5 on monday so 1.5 to go. (crossing fingers) I promise im trying to be a good girl! Im leaving to go get lunch for my father and myself in a few minutes. Then this afternoon i need to make out a grocery list to do some shopping on the way home! We totally have nothing in the fridge that i would eat lol mold isnt a good thing is it!

Fiona - your post made me stop and go fill up my glass of water! So now i have almost two bottles down for the day.

Diane - welcome back and keep up the good work you will be in Onederland before you know it. (give me a little bit more time and i plan to join all you gals in onderland)

Julie - have fun at lunch i dont think i have had Thai food before but in the new little binder part of the new plan (cant remember if you have it) there is a suggestion page for Thai food. So here are a few quick tips just in case you read this before you go to lunch lol.....Also great job on 196 im so jealous!
Yes No
Pad Thai w/Chicken or Shrimp Curry Beef
White Rice Mee-Krob
Chicken Ginger Todd Mun Chicken
Chicken Satay Crispy Taro Root
Cashew Shrimp w/veggies Whole fish, deep fried
Hope those help some of you

Michele - Congrats on being down and being able to adjust your attitude. I just did the same thing and its such a great feeling!

Tammy - I think if you do that every now and then its not gonna be a big deal just ignore them they always have to have something to be picky about.

Jen - congrats and that avitar looks so good on you.

Hey to all the other chicks!

Well i think i better run dad is getting hungry so i have to go find something "healthy" for us to have for lunch can anyone say chicken??? LMAO anywho ill check back later!!!

Congrats Jenn!!!! That is awesome.

Yeah, these counselors kill me. This is the same one the other day that told me I need to be on the PURPLE plan to get these last 8 lbs off and that I was drinking too much water.

I flat out told her last week that if I didn't start losing more than 1 lb a week, that I would take my butt out the door and never come back!

I don't think we get along, can you tell?

Oh yeah, at my last weigh in I was down a whole .8lbs for the week. wow

Mitchypoo
03-01-2005, 02:38 PM
Tammy, i get what you are saying, but i also think you did well being down .8 for the week. If you gained that every week you'd be up 3.2 or 4 lbs for the month! Think of it that way and some say that a slow steady loss is better. I'm just saying that ofcourse we always want it to be more, but .8 lb is an accomplishment.

Hello Everyone,
I don't have alot of time to play right now but I will in just a few hours. Everyone is flying to NC for a meeting and I'll be here holding down the fort for the next few days. ;)
I weighed in this morning at 169 so that puts me down 6 pounds for January and 1.4 for February. Not real good but atleast it's going down. I'll have to post this over in the March Goal thread. I'm also still doing the bike and ultra track. Can you believe it. I'll post more about that in the "Yard" later.
I just wanted to say hi to everyone and congratulations to all the losers. WTG. I'll be back later.

Hello Ladies,

I walked a little over 3 miles yesterday at the gym, and that kicked my butt :faint: . I was all over the place yesterday, so I never got to post again. I went to WI yesterday and I was down .2, I was happy with that after my slip with the CC, I thought for sure I would be up. When I went into the center yesterday there was a new counselor, she is great, I really liked her, she told me not to do a carb cravers everyday. I was eating a ham sandwich everyday at lunch, she said I will lose more if I don't eat that everyday. The scale at home is being so nice to me today, it says 214, of course that will probably change by tomorrow. The kids and I over slept today and so they are home with me (we didn't get up til 10AM, bad Mommy) and they are in rare form today, fighting so bad.

Michele- WTG on the loss :D ! Glad you are back on track and not feeling bad anymore!

Britt- Congrats on your loss! Got my fingers :crossed: for you!

Star- :thanks: for the compliments on the kids names. When I was pregnant with Casen I just didn't care much for any of the boy names and wanted something a little different. Went to HS with a guy and his last name was Cason, so I thought that is a nice name and just changed the spelling. I decided in 8th grade I would name my daughter Taylor... , way to plan ahead. My DH's sister's name is La Ree' and we named her Taylor La Ree' after her. If Casen would've been a girl that's what we were going to name her, it just happened a few years later instead. DSIL just had her 2nd boy and named him Benjamin after DH, he is thrilled about it!! Sorry I am rambling.

Jen- YAY!! :cheer: That is GREAT 50 lbs :balloons:

Sy- I am here, just running a little slow today :dizzy: ! Glad you didn't get completly dumped with snow ;) !

Hi  to everyone else and my apologies if I forgot anyone!

Hope you are all having a good day,

Ok girls i have a quick opinion question that has nothing to do with LAWL. I have just recently started scrapbooking and I am thinking about doing it part time on the side to earn some extra money. Do any of you think there is a need or want to have scrapbooks done "professionally"? I want to start out slowly of couse since i do go to school and work full time but just kind of wanted to see what you guys thought. Any ideas or input would be helpful.

Michele,

No I was born in TN, parents moved us to MI when I was 5. Married, moved to Phoenix, AZ, New Mexico and then Texas for 16 years. Moved back to MI in 91. My girlfriends (3 of them) moved to CA. We move the reunion around, but usually it is here in MI becuz everyone has family here, since we all went to high school here. This year it will be really special becuz of the location. Thanks for asking.

Tam - What is the difference between the Green and the Gold plans? You seem to be alittle frazzled, maybe you need more food.

Rusty - your workout plan sounds great. The main thing is that your back with it! Hurry and come play......way to go with your loss to chickie..

Athena - You aren't rambling, it is called chick talk and we all do it. Besides I am really into picking babies names, I love all that stuff.

I'm gonna go and do some work...be back later......HUGS

Britt,
Scrapbooking? I think it is a beautiful thing. You can start at my house, I have boxes and boxes of pictures, some were my moms - going back to 1930's. Just to get them organized prior to putting them in simple photo albums is a huge job.
About paying an outside source to do it for me? The only concern I would have is would you lose that "inside" information that only family members know? Or is that a silly question (since I don't scrapbook)? And how much money would you make for one book?

vibrantecho
03-01-2005, 04:53 PM
Britt - I'm not sure about putting scrapbooks together for other people - like Star said, there's the chance you'll lose some of the purpose - capturing the stories that go along with the pictures - along the way. Have you thought about something like becoming a Creative Memories consultant? The company was featured in a business magazine we get at work, which has been sitting on my desk unread for a week, which is what made me think of it. Or, a related idea may be to become a "scrapbooking tutor" to poor souls like myself who would love to do it but feel utterly lacking in the creative arts. :)

Okay, who knew that buying a car could be so darn complicated?!? Every time I think I've made up my mind about one, another car salesman calls me up to tell me about "the great deal they just got in!" :dizzy: It's getting ridiculous! Then there's the guy who is determined to sell me a car $2000 over my price range. Sheesh!

Britt,

I scrapbook and I LOVE it! DH gets so scared anytime I am anywhere near a scrapbook store  ! He is always saying "Athena, why don't you open up a sticker store? You have so many." I love the stickers, and I can spend some serious $ on them too. I don't think my scrapbooks are anything too elaborate, my DSIL gets really into it and makes tiny little pieces of clothing and etc to go on pages. I think people would probably pay for it. Star's question was great about the personal stuff, maybe you could come up with a questionaire or something to go along with the pages, so that all of that is included in the scrapbook. I journal on my pages and I love that there is so much info for people to read. I think it is going to be a great thing to pass along, and unlike my kid pics and albums that my Mom gave me, in my scrapbooks there is writing about what was taking place, etc. I have many friends ask me to do a scrapbook for them and said they'd pay me for materials and the work that goes into it. But I have never done it for anyone, I usually just get them into it and show them what I have done and how. For many reasons, but mainly cause I want them to have what they want, my taste is quite different from some of my friends.

I have a very dear friend in NC who when I was moving from there to here, made me a scrapbook, she covered the front with red fabric (red is my fav color) and then she did the first page with "Fun facts about Washington" and put all kinds of facts, like the population and she added 8 people because I moved here with my family and then my Best friend and her family moved here a few months before me.
Then she made me 2 pages one is with OU football stuff, the other is with a boom box and she drew little cassette tapes because I like OLD music. She did one page for DS with all of his favs like a playstation controller that she cut out and drew on, yu-gi-oh stickers, and some of his sayings. She did the same on DD's page (she is very talented and can draw), my DD is known for running around without shoes on, so she drew dirty little feet, and she drew little snacks like a soda can, popcorn bag and she put "Can I have a snack" because that is so Taylor, she also drew little garden things cause Tay helped her plant her garden and on both of the kids pages she put stuff and a little robot about the song "Mr. Roboto" that was the song she played with the kids in the car in the mornings on the way to school. On DH's page she put up a bunch of surf boards (DH is a surfer in his free time) that she had made with paper and she then drew different things on each surf board, like one has "Special Forces" cause DH is in SF and one says "Bum" cause he always says he wants to move to the beach, live in a shack, surf all day, and be a bum. On each page she wrote personal things to each of us. Then the rest of the album is blank so I could document our move.

It was a LONG trip that we drove and we stopped to see friends and family along the way, so I can fill it up with all the pics I took. I haven't started it yet, cause I am finishing a small one for my Mom that she can take to work of the kids first. It is my most prized and special scrapbook, I love it! It is so beautiful and she added so much of all of us individually. So maybe those things she did will help you some and you can always make special ones like she did for family and friends.

Hope this helps some and sorry I wrote a novel about it

Star - the difference between the green and gold plan is 1 less fruit and 1 less veggie.

I think the portion sizes for the chicken is about 2 oz less also.

I am frazzled. I just entered what I have eaten today on the website www.fitday.com
and most of my food consisted of CARBS!!!! The LA lites is a big culprit!

I don't get it.

Britt - I'm with Fiona on the Creative Memories gig. :flow2: You can totally work part-time and teach other people to scrapbook. The classes are fun and if you're really into it you can motivate other people with your ideas! I think it's a low cost start-up but you would have to look it up on the web.

Thanks for the comments!! I do want to address some of the issues that Star and Fiona were talking about. Your so right the information can get lost but there is a bit of science to scrapbooking especially if you are going to do it for other people. You have to set up either face to face or over the phone meetings with them because not only will they be telling you what they want their scrapbook to be like but I would also be telling them what i need from them. Not only do you need the photos but you have to sort of get to know them as a person see if they want a theme and then go from there. One of the things i love about scrapbooking is the journaling part of it and they will have to include information for you about pictures so that you can include that in the scrapbook. As far as the price goes you have to set your prices and i havent gotten to that part of it yet since im still just thinking about it.

Athena i think its great you are a fellow scrapbooker!!!! I will have to chat with you sometime about it.

Oops gotta run phone. Ill check back later.

Wow - chickies!

I'm gone for a few hours and look how many posts!

Nice lunch - had (big surprise) roasted chicken. And white rice. And piggy me ate the carrot and lettuce garnish. So I think dinner is going to be yogurt and fruit - since I have had hardly a veg or a fruit all day. But it was fun. And I got some advice about rolling over my old 401k - it's not much, but hopefully will be Something I Can Use to Live on when I'm in the blue-haired ladies club.

Britt -I truly believe that if you love scrapbooking you can find a way to share it with others (like Athena) and make money at it. In the neighborhood magazine I get each month someone advertises for Creative Memories - so people are doing it. (Also, I read a really good novel about a woman who researched the homes that people lived in) It seems like a scrapbook could include anything that someone wanted. Maybe you could focus on weight loss scrapbooks! :D

Oh - Star - if you think you could be in NC in May we could have a chickie reunion - I only live about 5 or 6 hours away from Raleigh - Except I have weekend commmitments - except for Memorial Day - I also would love to go to the Sundance film festival. . .

Michelle - we all have times when we feel bad and it has nothing to do with eating - sometimes all the things happening in our life roll over us at once and smother us. I am so glad that you went to the center. And I know your measurements are going to be great. Have you really lost 15 pounds in two months? That is terrific. Also, one thing I have thought about this weight loss journey - it takes so long to reach the end - it would be nice to learn something along the way (besides how to eat right) - maybe I need to learn patience? Or delayed gratification? prioritize what I really want?

Tammy - You have a  center. Did you ask why? Also, I have done the fitday thing and I seem to be equal between carb, protein and fat - and the carbs are mainly from the lites. I think that's why the starch portions are so low.

Sy - I totally agree with you about the mismatch with the LA products and the corresponding real food calorie counts. Why are the breakfast bars 210 cals, and count for a starch and a fruit? Even the smoothies are 90 cals.

Jen - you Are My Idol - how long have you been doing this? See, all your good work while you were away really paid off!

Fiona- remember car salesmen want to sell you more so they get bigger commissions - they also don't seem to understand the word NO.

Sorry if I missed anyone!
Julie

Julie - no kidding on salesmen and "NO!" I e-mailed the guy (told him before NOT to call me during work hours, but that e-mail was okay) to tell him we were pursuing some other options, and not 15 minutes later the sales floor manager called me on my cell phone "to make sure So-and-So was doing everything right to sell me a car out of their used inventory" Whatever! They pretty much lost my business right there, and I told the guy so. Good thing that there ARE other cars out there that I'm interested in!

Oh, at WI I was up .8  Not sure why, as I wasn't up even that much yesterday after indulging (but not too much) at DSIL's house for dinner on Sunday, and I was OP yesterday. Oh well, I've been OP today too so I'd better be down by Thursday.

Julie - We're staying in the Excalibur, getting married at the Little Chapel of the Flowers and then our reception is at the Flamingo. I'm determined to see all of Vegas befor I leave! Actually the Flamingo offers an unlimited champagne brunch  for about $15 a head and they have this wildlife habitat and garden that the buffet looks out towards with these huge glass walls. It's suppose to be really beautiful. We'll see! :hat:

Diane - if you have a chance to drive out of Vegas, you might like to see the big dam - Hoover? I drove over it this past summer - very impressive. Lots of parking areas so people park and walk over - looks like people do water type things at Lake Mead. . . I stayed with relatives in Vegas so I didn't do many of the strip type things, but it is a growing city! Lot's of building going on. . .

Fiona - I'm sure that everything will be fine by Thursday - just keep on pushing the water (as I filled my second water bottle . . .) And WTG on telling off that salesman . .

Karen: Being down 7.4 lbs is awesome and in the right direction - don't look back, only forward!

Jen: WOW! 50 lbs, your awesome! All the running and staying OP really does help! I'm so happy for you!

Tam: Next time you go to the center, request someone you like - people do that at my center all the time. That way you won't have to deal with the counselor from hell and keep the motivation up to get to your goal!

Fiona: Not sure if it was you - but I remember someone asking if my exercise buddy was from work. No, I met Julie at the gym. She's really friendly and a real talker which is great. After talking - found we have lots in common. She has MS and I have 2 sisters who have that (my sister's are in bad shape), but Julie keeps the exercise up as she knows what may happen if she stops. Come to find out, our friends from Raleigh, NC are also friends with her and her husband. Very small world. We would exercise together when we saw each other. We exchanged phone numbers so now we check each others schedule to see if we both can make it at the same time. Sometimes we do, and sometimes our schedules are just out of synch. It's makes the time go by quicker when you have someone fun to talk to. She works me like a horse and keeps me honest in the amount of time I spend there. A great workout buddy.

Gotta run, AI will be on soon and DH is out blowing snow. Got to see if he needs my help with anything. Have a great evening.

Hugs to all,

Sy

Hi

I"ve been so good the last three days I was excited to weigh in this morning - NO CHANGE - I've been crying for over 20 minutes - I'm so disappointed. Had to come on here to stop crying to type so I can put my make up on over my red puffy eyes. I just hate my body today- I want to starve it all day and show it whose boss but I know that will only put me in starvation mode - can't win it seems.

Thanks for letting me vent - and just ignore me to day- really - ignore me - hope I didn't ruin anyone's day. I will get over it!

Hi Britt: Sorry I missed your question. Just had time to read in detail everything I missed (as sometimes I just have time to scan the posts). About scrapbooking. I think it's a wonderful idea. I'm totally not into it - but did go to a scrapbook party and at the party - there were 2 ways to have the party done. 1 - just buy the stuff, 2 - pay $10 and bring pictures and start your own scrapbook. My niece who hosted the party choose #2. So, I created a single page to a scrapbook. Did buy some cool stuff, and after the party - checked out AC Moore and found everything I purchased for less than 1/2 price (from the party costs). I won't be going to another party for a long time, but the experience that I could do something that turned out so cool looking was fun. No regrets! Now, if I had someone like you - I could give you a shoebox of pictures and say - Go for it! Of course, it would probably end up costing me a million dollars with all the pictures that have never made it into plain scrapbooks. Maybe you could start small and just post some signs on the bulletin boards on campus. See if you get any hits, and go from there. Have fun, and take chances - it's the only way to go!

BAS: We were posting at the same time. Hey, give me a Great Big Smile. I read that if you smile, even when you aren't happy - whatever it releases in our brain will make us feel better. It's worth a try!? Don't let the scale get you down (of course, I'm the same way as you). You have been good for 3 days in a row, another day or 2 and you will see results. Sometimes weightloss doesn't show right away. Use to drive DH nuts. He would be doing the low-carb diet and would not see results for 2 weeks and weigh himself daily (of course, by then - I would have given up - or be crying my eyes out like you), then all of a sudden - boom, he'd be down 8 lbs. Just do what you said, prove to yourself that you are the boss and tomorrow will be a better WI. Just don't give up because of the scale! Hugs to you. Sy

Hey Beverly - don't let it get you down! I think Sy has a great idea about the :D . We ALL have had days, weeks, months, when the scale hardly budges. It is really tough when we've been so good, been so on plan (any plan), and it's not working.

You mentioned something about using weights - do you live anywhere close to a video rental place? Maybe you could rent a weight tape, or a new exercise video to mix things up a bit?

And I do know that feeling when I get so mad at my body I want to punish it by not feeding it anything - but it's probably NOT a good idea for general health. This may sound weird but I'm wondering if you are not eating enough and your body is holding on to it's fat because it's wondering where the next meal is coming from. The other thing is to ask you doctor about your thyroid - it may have become sluggish :?:

And it is tough - but remember how far you've come! You've LOST TWENTY POUNDS! You are exercising on a regular basis! Your blood work is much better (from what I remember in your earlier posts). Do you notice if your clothes are fitting differently, even if the scale is not changing? (A scale is only a mechanical device and it isn't always perfect).

You have such a good heart, Beverly, weight is only part of our life.

Hugs!

Beverly these other chicks have given you wonderful advice! And i totally agree with all of them. I know exactly where you are in fact at some point and time we have all been there. Its not the best feeling in the world but you know that you are eating healthy, working out and this should make you at least feel better because girlfriend you are SO worth it! Have you thought about maybe doing take off to give your body the push it needs? Dont let it consume you I had gotten to a point where i was letting it get to me and let me tell you i was a pain in the butt and down in the dumps when i was doing that. So pick yourself up and dust yourself off you have been doing GREAT for 3 days dont stop now just think at WI on friday you will be down!!!! Have a great day girl and chin up!!!! PSST.... no more crying either dont want the make up to run ;)

(thanks, Star)

I read on another forum recently - that weight is only a measure of our body mass based on gravitational pull to the center of the earth which is why our weights are different on the different planets

-doesn't take into consideration the components of that weight . . .

Or the components of our life!

Hugs to all - thanks to all you chickies for being there for me when I have bad days!

Good Morning Chicks,
Beverley...Everything will all come together. Just give it time. Your body might be confused from switching back and forth between plans. I think that's what happened to be because I switch all the time...Cheer up Bev.. ;)
Sy....I can only look forward now to losing some more. I have a new outlook on this now. Granted, it's only a three day outlook, but it's a start...
I've also been sticking with my exercise program. That's a HUGE accomplishment for me.. I think it's been a whole week now, maybe longer...

ok just got back from WI and guess what....I was up .25 but she said she thinks i actually lost because i had a fairly big breakfast for me and 16oz of water right before i went to WI so on Friday i will wait to eat until i WI i will be there at 9am sharp lol. She said they take into consideration your food/water intake before you get there and that 16oz of water is basically a pound added to your body so she thinks that i might have had a good loss actually well i hope so cause i want to reach my weekly goal!!!!

Karen im so glad that you are back at it and that you have stuck with your exercising thats where i really slack off i tend to do good for a few weeks and then if i ever stop thats it i wont do it for a while but im gonna see if i cant hop back on the old dusty treadmill tonight when i get home from my meeting!!

Star- I lost 4 pounds during the take off. I am happy with that and hope it continues.

Julie- I came up with red because I have 60 pounds to lose. The lady who sold me the plan on ebay said she started on it and that it should be good for me with the amount I have to lose. So we'll see how it works.

I have been able to stay on plan for three days now so I hope I can continue.

Btw, do any of you do the weekends off? How does that work for you? Do you get to eat more on the weekends?

Hello Ladies,

Just a quick post, payday was yesterday and I have tons to do today. I went to WI today after I walked 3 miles at the gym, thank you sooo much Star for the info on my heart rate :) , I was able to slow down a lot. I was down 3 lbs from Monday-WOO HOO!!!! Just wanted to share that real fast before I start all I need to do. Also when I got home from the center today I had a box outside my door from DSIL, she and her hubby (he's in Iraq right now for the 2nd time) sent me a beautiful red box full of great candles and the card said "Congrats on your weight loss! Keep it up, you're worth it! We love you." I thought that was so sweet and thoughtful! I'll try to make it back on here today, but if I can't then I will be here tomorrow. Hope everyone is having a good day :D ! And hugs to all!

I think the centers have stopped giving out the weekends off. Over a year ago I got it and never really used it, was scared to. But I haven't heard anyone on here speak of it?
Athena - You are so welcome about the heart rate info. Most people think the harder and faster you workout the better, not always true. I'll tell you I was more than glad to slow down alittle! Way to go on you nice loss! Your DSIL sounds really sweet!

Kimmy - are you using the bars or a substitute? If you're not, then I'd say red is fine. If you are, you may want to switch down to purple if you plateau for a couple of weeks? Or, if you exercise a lot - like 5 hours a week, then red is probably okay. I started with 83 pounds to lose, they put me on purple, I'll switch to gold after I get down to 182. You've had a terrific start! About weekends off - it's not something that LAWL offers now, so I can't give you any thoughts on that.

Athena - wow! 3 since MONDAY? You rock, honey! And such nice in-laws to give you a non-food gift!

Britt - I can't wait for your Friday report! Did you find out about the new program?

Star - I like your motto - everyday is another part of the journey - and the fight to get fit.

Good Morning my dear friends - I'm feeling a little better. I'm actually down two pounds this morning but I"m fearful because it will probably be right back up tomorrow. However I was bloated all day yesterday - think it was because I was or had been eating Stir Fry for a few meals - I added no salt but I still had soy sauce in it. Today is baked chicken and baked potato. I've am also trying to avoid the bars for a while to see if that helps because to me thats 360 calories I don't need - I want it - but don't think I need it.

And your probably right about me flipping from one plan to another - confusing myself and my body I guess. But I"m gonna stick with LAWL without the bars and see how it goes. I may have a bar at night when I need to snack but will try to hold off from it. At least the option will be there for me.

Anyway just wanted to say I love you girls - you were there for me and I"ve never had anyone care so much about me - :grouphug:

I'll check back later tonight - and Happy THursday everyone! ;) Time for my coffee :coffee:

Karen: I love your new attitude! You go girl! Great job on the exercise. Can't wait until you post that your looking forward to it, believe me - it's gonna happen (and it will suprise you)!

Good morning, chickies!

Beverly - so glad that you are doing better today, and that you saw the scale go down today. We all LOVE you on this board; so glad that Karen and Star convinced you to come play with us! You are probably right - the sodium in the soy sauce can really cause you to hold on to water (although you may have lost it yesterday with the tears :( ) If you don't need the bars, and you're following the food based on the red plan I sent you, then you are probably right in not having them, and just saving them.

Sy -I think you will be queen for March - the scale is really moving for you girlfriend! Do you think that it's the change in the exercise?

Jen - I'm with you - sometimes .2 is all that happens. But that's okay. At least it shows that we're doing the right things - following the plan, and going to the center, etc. . .And you've really lost all of it on LAWL?? You may be doing a commercial for them soon. How much more do you have to go?

Skinny vibes!

Good Morning Chicks,
Karen...Congrats on the loss. You're almost there now. I can't wait to be able to say that... :)
Sy....I don't know if the day will ever come when I'll look forward to exercising.. :o But, I have been doing it for a week (yesterday) now. So, I'm now starting week two....Woo Hoo.... ;) I did both the bike and the ultra track this morning and it really kicked my butt...
Star...I know you keep telling me as well that I'll start to look forward to it. But, you know how I am... :dizzy:
About the mottos, I was laying there watching TV last night and thinking how hungry I was. The only thing I had left to eat was my jello but I wasn't in the mood. Then I just kept telling myself to "suck it up" and it worked. I didn't have any thing else to eat...
Now, about this weight of 168.6 that I keep getting to. I figured out that it seems like on the 3rd day of starting my diet I always reach that number and I get on the scales on day 4 and I'm up so I cheat. Well today is day 4 and I stayed away from the scales this morning. I was so proud of myself for doing that. Now I can stay on track today. Isn't it something how stepping on the scales can affect your day... :^:
I don't know if I told you Chicks this or not, but on Saturday we are going to Talladega and we get to take our vehicles around the track. They'll line up 4 or 5 cars at a time behind the pace car and we can go 90-95 around the track for a few laps. This is going to be so cool.. I'm taking my camcorder. It will be like in-car cameras...
Ok Chicks, I guess it's time for me to get to work on this filing that I've been putting off. I'll talk to you all later... :D

Speaking of cold. My DS is going ice fishing in Canada tomorrow. He says where they fish is seven miles out. I think someone dropped him on his head when he was a baby becuz he loves all that cold weather stuff. Hey gals -

Had a whole post typed out and I lost it! Anyway, I'm doing a bit of a frustration dance today, as I was up at WI on Tuesday, then down on my home scale yesterday (should have weighed in but didn't have the car), then up on my home scale again this morning. And I didn't cheat yesterday! What gives? At least I don't have to weigh in today even though I said I would, because DH has the car again.

Speaking of cars, WOO HOO, we finally bought one! We have to go pick it up today because it was too late to send the financing through by the time we got all the papers signed last night, and there were a couple of things they needed to fix anyway. So I'm out at 2:30 to finish all that up and GO PICK UP MY NEW CAR!!! :cheer:

*Here I am a couple days behind again! It's not like I'm planning anything big that could possibly take my time up??? :lol3:

I started a strict work-out regime yesterday. I'm doing sit-ups and treadmill everyday. I'm worried about the wedding gown fitting in the stomach area. Anyone have suggestions on good exercises to do for the waist-line? I keep having these dreams about the gown getting here and not being the one I ordered and they are always the most hidious gowns! :fr:

I haven't gone to WI in about 2 weeks and I really need to kick myself in the butt. I am following the plan to a T and I'm only 4 lbs. away from Onederland!!! :dancer: :cheer: YIPPEE!!! :cb:

Fiona - Congrats on the new car! May you always leave the house after your DH! :D

Star - The Bridal Shower was really nice! The only disappointment was the lack on lingerie, but I understand because they didn't know I was losing all this weight and it's difficult to buy lingerie for someone larger than the standard L or XL and be sure it will work for them. I did receive some really nice things! One of my best-friends bought me a new towel set for one of my bathrooms and she had them all embroidered with an "F" for my new lastname. I thought that was cool!

Hey Diane - you just reminded me of a dream I had about two weeks before my wedding, that I just had to share. (It didn't seem like a nightmare until I woke up and realized what happened in my dream, if that makes sense!) Well, one night I dreamt that the morning of my wedding I put my the skirt of my dress on inside out, and that the underskirts (which there weren't actually any) were made of BLACK tulle! So I had this ivory bodice with a poufy black skirt. And in my dream, I didn't even realize that wasn't how the dress was supposed to go - I was too busy worrying over my hair! The funny part was, the dress was great but I really did have a hair crisis the morning of my wedding. Go figure!

Michele - Why so quite today?
Julie - Where are you :?: Are you out celebrating your BD already :hat: :dancer: Well you could have invited us.....Hope your okay!
Bridezilla - the "F" stands for "Foxy" (or am I showing my age again) You will be in Onederland for you wedding - way to go!!! About the waist exercises, do you go to a gym? I know some but it is so close, your best bet is to stay on plan and cardio - cardio - cardio. (IMHO)
Sy - Thanks for the tip on who's BD was here.......you are a good little :write:
Rusty - talk to you in a minute.....thanks for starting the BD parties....

No new car tonight. Found out that the finance company overnights the check to me, then I have to sign it over to the dealer. So the earliest the check will be here is tomorrow, and the soonest we (I) can go get the car will be Saturday. Oh well - it really did seem too easy!

Mitchypoo, how did I get that wrong? Sorry about that! :o . Happy Birthday to you on the 7th! Don't know why I put in on Saturday? :?:

Fiona: Yes, I love that commerical. I saw a new one this week. The teenage daughter and her boyfriend get up in the middle of the night to alope, sneak out of the house and takes 1 of the parents cars. The Dad gets up and catches them, the daughter starts explaining that she loves the guy and the Dad can't stop her from marrying him. The Dad looks at his daughter and says something like, "Oh, I understand - but take your mother's car" then you the Dad drive back home in his new Cadallac (spelling). You have to see it - it's really cool. I don't do it justice on the board. About the car, just think - you will have 1 day less mileage on the car because you had to wait a day (sorry, trying to look on the bright side for you, it's the only thing I could come up with... LOL!).

Gotta run again, sorry - so much to do, so little time. Sy

Yes, I'm finally reporting back in - you chickies were really posting today!

Spent a much longer day than I expected with a really good friend and another person who is going on this trip to England in June - we went to the Library of Congress where they have a nice restaurant with a buffet - unfortunately the buffet was limited with OP foods, but at least I only had one plate of each :?: and I did have a piece of black forest cake. Funny - its the first bakery cake I've had in MONTHS and it was really too sweet. Never thought I'd say that. I think I need to over come that problem and have MORE CAKE!!!! But lots of good conversation, and I'm really looking forward to the trip.

Also - this friend is the one that's really noticed that I've lost weight, so we talked a bit about LAWL today, too - she's a WW lifetimer, but doesn't know what to do next. . She likes the flexibilty of WW, just not the meeting structure -

Did I tell you what I think I'm going to do eating wise this weekend - the beginning 2 day LA plan - protein/veg and fruit (since no juice) - at least I'm starting off with a plan . ..

The great news is I received my Project:You box today! All 8 videos and a walking tape :cb: I am like a child at Christmas! I am planning to start on MONDAY and get :strong:

RWFKaren - I think your weekend sounds AWESOME. (I can't find the reference to the mail . . :?: )

Fiona - can't wait to hear about who's winning in the who-gets-the-car race - maybe you should hide the keys on those nights he stays out late? (BTW, maybe too much sodium?)

I love those car commercials - I've just seen the one about the kids in the past couple of weeks - I've seen the one about getting up earlier and earlier around Christmas time?

Thank you all for the Happy Birthday wishes - My goal is to be thin and fit by the time I'm 47. .. I have a year. . . I think that may be one of my mottos.

Also - happy birthday Michelle and Britt! (Britt, it's also 3/7 for you, right?)

Michelle - are you a knitter! Me too - although I have too many unfinished projects! And a walk in closet full of yarn!

Bridezilla/Diane - you are so close to wonderland! I am no where near an exercise authority, but maybe try a pilates ab tape for your mid section?

Hugs to all!

Good Morning everyone - Sorry I wasn't on last night but I was out having fun and staying away from food. I was snowmobiling for three hours - Now I know why everyone wants snow - man its fun!!!!!!!!!!

But I didn't get to exercise. I will have to double up one day this weekend to make up for it. Were going again Sunday - NO grand children :( this weekend so I think I'll clean out my cupboards for a start and organize them. I miss them though.

I didn't weigh in even though its Friday because I was happy with yesterday's weigh in and I'd like to keep feeling that way for a day or two and by the way - I'm still doing real good - I didn't get all my fruit in though yesterday. Missed one.

This weekend I'll get my tickers up to date. Okay I gotta get ready for work and I'll be back later tonight. Have a great day - :cb: :cb: :cb:

I'm not weighing again until Monday morning. I hope our dinner Saturday at the Steakhouse won't get me too bad... :^:
I don't know how much I'll be able to play today. The owner is back in town and I'm not sure how long he'll be hanging around today. Hopefully not long unless he wants to talk about a raise...

Thanks for all the good wishes - I am torn between just eating whatever I want today (ice cream) and remembering that the last time I had it I was sick as a dog. Not a good way to spend the night. . .

Went to the Doctor today, he's impressed with how fast my shoulder is healing - wants to see me again in two weeks.

About Project:You - it's a 12 week program with workouts 6 days/week - you, like God, get to rest on the 7th. The first 5 weeks is 30 Min cardio/30 min strength 4 days a week, 1 day yoga/pilates and 1 day choice -(which I think is 30-60 min more cardio). Then there is a recovery week (which is alternating choice and yoga/pilates; then for the final 6 weeks there isa circuit training (60 mins) and a long lean (which I'm not sure yet). It's a little overwhelming when I think of 60 min circuit training, but I'll worry about that in 6 weeks.

There is also an eating plan - 1500 cals/day split into 4 meals - I'm not sure what to do about that since I'm actually pretty happy about what I'm eating now.

It's manufactured by beach body, and you can get some idea about on the www.kathysmith.com website (also seems to be hosted by beachbody).

Beverly, I admire your spirit to find some way to have fun in the snow . ..

Karen/RWF - WTG! I am dreaming of the lovely 160s. ..

Tammy - you too - the lovely 160's - I already have the turtle in my ticker. . . (but remember he only moves forward by sticking his neck out)

Michelle - please post next week about the knit cafe! What are you working on now? Do you subscribe to any of the knitting magazines? Have you gone to any of the big knit shows - like the ones hosted by Knitters or TKGA? I was thinking of going to the one in Atlantic City in th fall. (Truthfully, I have a terrific stash - both yarn and fabric. . . I love to run my hands over it). It's terrific that you can spin - I'd also like to learn how to weave - but don't want any more hobbies!

Hugs to all!

Star - I think it's new - just released in January. I do like Kathy Smiths tapes in general - I watched (!) the first 3 tapes this morning - boy some of those strength training moves look like they'll wipe me out - plus I have two left feet. I'll feel really proud of myself when I can do the whole thing through. . . And I just watched the Foundation cardio tape, there is a more advanced one that you start after a week on the Foundation.

I have been MIA the past week due to a bad cold, cough, sore throat, etc. The meds the doc gave me were quite effective aka "you might experience a little drowsiness" - ha. I did try to read the forum one day I kept seeing "tickers" as "knickers" so I gave up :)

Congrats to everyone who lost this week and to everyone who stayed OP regardless what the scale said!

GOod Morning Ladies! How is everyone? Well the scale was still good to me and made my day. The two pounds have stayed off and as active as I get on weekends (instead of sitting at a desk) that usually helps.

Well Fiona- today is the big "Car" day - I Hope you have a well planned driving excursion to go to. I wouldn't even think of bringing it back and parking it - no way- its a new car - fun to try it out. Have fun girl. Fudgesicle - can we have those? Yum - those were my favorites years ago.

I have chicken and turkey out to make something with this weekend - Maybe I can find a good soup recipe (without the salt of course) - I just love throwing everything into the pot. Trouble is I usually have to eat the pot myself. :o I am making my DS for her birthday a Rubarb Custard Pie - she will fall over cause I actually saved my rubarb this year and froze it just for these things. So easy to do. Laundry is going, hubby is fed, son is still sleeping and next I'll start the pie. Then I'm going to rearrange my food pantry -in big need - can't find anything - I buy too much sometimes. I have dry groceries in my bedroom from yesterday that I just couldn't find a good place to put them so I have to organize today. I like doing that though. I also have a jigsaw puzzle out that I'm working on - hope the sun shines pretty soon - its suppose to. Then I'm going outside for a while even if its just to walk in the snow. Its suppose to be 40.

Okay I'm gonna get started - I'll check back in bit to see whose playing this weekend and what everyone is up to.

Good morning chickies! :D

Uneventful day so far - got to sleep in a little, showered, breakfast, then ran over to the mall with DD for a little bit. I wanted to get this very cool spring/fall-weight jacket that I saw on clearance at New York & Company a few weeks back, but of course they were all gone. :( There are two other NY&Co's within easy driving distance of me, though, so I think I'll check them out this weekend too, just in case.

But, since I was there, I raided the rest of the clearance racks, too! They had a whole section of the store marked $5.99 - pants, shirts, sweaters, you name it. So I picked up a fabulous pair of gray slacks and three button-down shirts for under $25. None of them actually FIT - that store is about one size too small for me yet - but if I accomplish my March/Easter challenge of losing 10 pounds, or even most of that, I might be able to wear them before they are out of season. ;) That is probably my favorite clothing store - I can't wait until I can buy anything I want there! Anyway, I had DD along so I couldn't really try stuff on, but I plan to go back and REALLY go over those clearance racks if I ever get some free time to myself this week.

Anyway, DD is watching a movie and we don't leave to pick up the new car for about two hours, so I'm going to entertain myself with a video game for a while. Have a good afternoon everyone!

Talking to you ladies can be quite addicting.

plan and not purple because I'm diabetic. Apparently,
I will be on this same plan through-out my weight loss.
I am a slow weight-loser, but I also cheat. Starting today

happens. Wish me luck!

Fiona - I want a new ring and a new car. What is your

Alma, Albuquerque, and San Antonio. Please do share about

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Hey girls - I should be shopping too with all the deals out there. I actually just finished organizing my pantry - love it. My mother called and ask me to give her a perm so I'm going down there to do that. I had a LC for lunch and I'm taking a Luna bar with because it will be a long afternoon with no snacks. We may play Dominoes in between rolling and waiting for the perm to take. That will be fun. Its 41 here today and the snowmobile tray goes across our land back of the house and its a steady stream of snowmobiles- everyone must be out today. WOW.

Does anyone have any good LAWL recipes to make with chicken or turkey? CHicken is fresh and turkey is ground. Thanks.

Beverley - here is a chicken recipe I really like - it's pretty easy, too, and doesn't take too long to prepare.

Curried Stuffed Chicken Breast (1P, 2V, 1S)

6 or 8 oz. boneless/skinless chicken breast (according to plan)
1 T water
1/4 medium carrot, shredded
5 green onions, sliced
1/2 tsp. curry powder
1 slice diet bread, toasted and cut into cubes
1/8 tsp. Morton Lite Salt
1/8 tsp. paprika

In a small saucepan, combine water, carrot, green onion and curry powder. Cook until vegetables are tender. Remove from heat, add bread cubes.

With meat mallet, pound chicken to 1/4 inch thickness. Sprinkle chicken with Morton Lite salt. Place chicken in a baking dish. Place stuffing on top of one sideof chicken breast, then fold over (Fiona's note: secure with toothpick). Sprinkle with paprika.

Bake in 350-degree oven for 20 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink.

Hi BAS and Fiona:

Fiona, the chicken recipe sounds good. I'll have to check to see if we have any curry?

BAS, I do not sure Morton's Lite Salt. Something's in that stuff that my hands and feet swell shortly after having it on something. LA told me to stop using it. I have a reaction to potassium chloride (and it's found in other things that I've tested and have the same reaction). So, I use regular salt.

Mitchy: Hope your date turns out great, and on you birthday too. Very cool!

My nephew's 11th birthday was yesterday. My sister had a sleepover party for him. 14 boys came to the party, and 12 are spending the night. Oh my gosh, that younger sister of mine. You know, the thing about it is - she and the boys will all have a great time. She's just like that.

I'm having a pretty good OP weekend .

I complain about the snow, so have to tell you that yesterday was just beautiful here. Sunny and on the warmer side for winter - I left the house about 7:45am and ran errands and got home about 3:00pm. It was a great day.

Beverley - I buy the no-sugar-added fudgesicles and have just one (even though a serving is two!) - and count it as the 1/2 cup of ice cream on the purple card.

Oh, I was SO bad on Thursday and Friday - non-OP foods left and right. I COULD blame it on the stress of the whole car thing, but that's just excuses, I know. And who wants to feel like it's OKAY to turn to food for stress relief? Not me. So yesterday I got back on the wagon, I will have to figure out how to politely turn down the cake that the church is having for DH's welcome! Even if it's chocolate - that will be my penance for all the other bad things I ate this week. LOL!

Sy - your sister sounds crazy! If I got to choose, I don't think I'd have any boys, just girls. Girls I understand! Yesterday the weather was SUPPOSED to be gorgeous, but didn't quite get there - it was overcast and windy, even if it was on the warmer side (40, I think?). Today is looking more promising, though. :)

Have a great day all - I'm off to church, then to the in-laws to visit with DH's grandma who is in town for the weekend, then to my parents to show off my new car and dinner. :D

Hi all!

Had good news at WI yesterday! :goodscale I was down 1.6! Very happy and motivated. She said kind of quietly, wait til next week when we introduce the new plan! So i can't wait to see it. I'm curious to see if they'll try to charge us for it. I'll let you know. She only difference she really told me about is the no limiteds. But she suggested i use one or the other.

I will tell you about my date, I am looking forward to it!

Hello Ladies!
While I did not join LAWL, as I do not have that kind of money upfront, I did purchase the entire plan on eBay (I am addicted to eBay). My only question is if anyone knows if Venison (aka Deer) is allowed on LAWL. I would assume it is like beef, but it is lower fat than beef itself.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

BAS

Boy I hope so cause thats what I have out for supper too - venison. THought I would quickly fry it in some CBINB spray. Hope thats okay.

Went for a good walk with my son who is trying to loose weight too - it was a nice walk - its 50 out but I will not count it toward any exercise - he goes pretty slow.

Back to the kitchen for more baking - made home made pizza for lunch with fresh bread dough- I had grilled chicken and baked potato- I'm proud of myself.

Michelle - wonderful weigh in - way to go girl.

Catch you girls later.

OOOOOH! I think I just found the answer (for Blue plan anyway) 1 Beef choice: Pork, Wild Game 4 1/2oz is one serving.....yay!!! I love Venison!!!

Hi, chickies,

I'm back - thanks for all the birthday wishes! I had an eating and drinking weekend. Did get to go to a party yesterday that had a major clothes swap - we all brought clothes that we no longer wanted and pick new clothes that we liked. I came home with about twice as many as I brought. Loads of fun.

Tomorrow is the morning of truth - I didn't stay on my projected plan very well, but it was only a weekend, and the next 4 to 6 look fairly clear, so I should be able to make good progress, esp as I start that exercise program tomorrow.

Michelle - you are doing so great! And a Date! We want DEETS (within reason, or course) - the new plan has the same basis (by that I mean so many portions of so many food groups), but the lists of available foods is larger, and some of the portion sizes have changed slightly. The beef portions are up 1/2 oz, some of the starches are down slightly - but it is very liveable in my mind.

Beverly - So proud of you! And it is so true that we just can't eat like other people and expect to lose weight. It is just a sad fact. We have to choose which is more important. BTW - I do occasionally use no salt canned veg, and I do use the no salt canned tomatoes. I make a stew/soup with ground turkey, tomatoes, peppers, and onions.

Fiona - you can always say that you are allergic to chocolate - it makes you break out in FAT. But so happy for you and the new car. I also love NY & Co - they used to be called Lerner's in this area - they have great colors - good quality. Unfortunately, I am getting a leeetle oollld for their styles. . .

Karen/Rusty - found out this weekend that another friend is a RWF. This is his last year?? Hope you had fun at the races this weekend.

Jennifer - I also want to really stay perfectly ON PLAN (POP) this week. That includes getting back to measuring my protein - I'm beginning to eyeball it, and that is dangerous for me.

Sorry if I missed anyone - catch you all later!

Julie
Melissa - hope you are feeling better!

Hey Ladies!

I've being "perfectly on plan" for about 8 hours now. I also
went clothes shopping (and while I didn't buy anything) I did fit
into a size straight 18, which is like a miracle of God. I nearly
cried right there in the dressing room. I get measured this week
so I am curious to see how many inches I'm down.

Just wanted to share. You go girls!

WAY TO GO Jennifer - We all know that feeling of such surprise when we fit into smaller clothes - I think I looked at the size at least 1/2 dozen times when a size 14 jean fit me - I am so proud of ya!! :cp: :cp: :cp:

FIona- I need to rant and rave - thank you for the chicken recipe - I felt like I was cheating. I did have to modify it - I didn't have curry, green onions or carrots. Instead I used reg onions, celery (all chopped finely) sauteed in a few tablespoons of chicken broth and then I sprinkled the whole thing with poultry season - poured it over the bread crumbs and walla - I had dressing. I pounded my chicken filets thin with a plate and they turned out so fantastic - I made two fo them - one is for lunch tomorrow. Served it up with some no sodium green beans and finishing it off with 1/2 a luna bar. Reason I have the luna bar - I walked briskly for over an hour outside and I still am going to do my WATP tape. Have to keep up with that one or I get too sore and can't keep up with her. So i figure I need the added calories today - (who said that) :dizzy: (lol) I can't believe I said I need more calories today.

Okay I"ll quit blabbing and go pick up the dishes. I just had to tell you how delicious it was and what a great idea - no more plain chicken for me. This will be a regular dish for me from now on Oh speaking of that I need to get some potatoes in the oven to bake for the week ahead. Hugs to all. WIshing you all a good week OP!

Hey gals,
I took 5 kids to CiCi's pizza on Friday night, hadn't eaten lunch and was starving. My center is RIGHT BESIDE CiCi's pizza, so I went in right fast and weighed on Friday night. I was down to 168.2, which was lower than my Wed. at LAWL which was 169.2.
So, down 1 lb. last week.

I probably ate a pound of pizza. Oh well, back to the grindstone today. I will be in the 167 range by Wednesday!

Beverley - I'm glad you liked it! I tend to modify it, too, as I don't really care for carrots. But the idea of having stuffing IS like cheating - it's great! Which reminds me, I need to go pick up more chicken one of these days.

Tammy - way to go on being down - pizza was my downfall this week, too. oh well! Such is life. Good luck getting back down this week - you can do it!

I'm new to this thread. Did LAWL a few years ago and started again last August. Lost 17 pounds, then the holidays hit and think I've gained back MORE than the 17 I took off.

Having done this diet twice, I do believe it works but am not too psyched about spending so much $$$ now that I "get it." Has anyone found any substitutions for the Take Off Juice and/or LA Lite Bars that work??? I want to do the 2-day take-off, but don't really want to go in and sign up for weeks and weeks since I understand the program. Feel like I'd just be paying for the products, which they won't let you buy without buying the program all over again.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!!

Yippee - I was still at 196 this AM - only up ONE pound from last Friday. That is amazing for me. . .

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Britt AND Michelle! :hb:

Fiona - glad you like the motto - it's free, use it frequently! (I think I heard it on the old Mary Tyler Moore show - sounds like something Rhoda would have said . .yes, I'm showing my age!)

Jennifer - isn't it great when we can fit in to the next smaller size - whether it's in the store or in our closet (or we can borrow it from our sisters :D )

Beverly - I see a cookbook in your future - how to cook LAWL Beverly's Way. . . The creative way to lose weight . ..

TAMMY! Wowser! :bravo: Down a pound when you were having such a tough time! I have :crossed: for Wednesday.

Hi Court - several of us use the Knudsen's juice - I've also seen people just substituting fruit - like canteloupe or oranges instead of juice. I use luna bars and lites interchangeably. You can find good deals on luna's in ebay, or some chickies have gotten them off of Amazon. OR, you can go to the next higher plan, and not use bars at all . .. You are right - if you get the eating down straight, and can be accountable to yourself, then you don't need the center. Also, Aphil (our lovely moderator) has suggested substituting an egg and a dairy (yogurt or cheese) for a lite, since they have about the same ratio of calories, protein, etc.

I found my 3 and 5 pound weights so I am venturing into exercise land today - I'll post in exercise yard later today - I'm also thinking that I need new shoes (mine are about two years old- yuck) I also need to find a tape measure so I can see progress other than scale weight.

Skinny vibes!

Morning gals ~ :coffee:

So I think I mentioned this a few days ago, but one thing I need to start watching again - not even watching so much as avoiding completely - is my pop intake. I've let it slide a LOT and I'm sure that's a good chunk of what's holding me back. So I'm going to see if I can go the rest of the month with NO pop, and I'm trying to think of a good reward for myself for accomplishing this. Maybe a manicure or something like that...?

Julie - good luck with your weights! :strong:

Fiona - try putting a sticky note in your diary - NO POP TODAY - and then move it every day, and put a hatch mark on the note when you've finished the day WITH NO POP! Then you can see your progress every day. . .

Thanks for the well wishes on the weights. . .

:coffee: Once again it took awhile to get thru the weekend posts ;)

I had a great, busy weekend. Saw the grandbabies :bb: :bb: . Went out to eat twice :cofdate: . Got my nails and eyebrows done at the mall. Shopped alittle. What more could I ask for? Ofcourse worked out both days, will comment more on that in the Exercise Yard :tread:

Fiona - New York and Company (formally Lerners) is my favorite store also. When I could shop there, I knew I had made great strides in weight loss, I was soooooooooo happy. Now, I can't always go in there becuz I always find several things I have to have  Oh and BTW, they had racks at my store for $3.99 but they were pretty well picked over. All I bought was a pair of cool sunglasses (I'm a sunglass addict  ) Julie, I think becuz NY&Co go with so many netreul colors they suit women of all ages (and they don't sell moo-moo's)

Jennifer - I am the one that lived in your states; Ariz, New Mexico, Texas and Michigan.....I miss the warm weather states. But our weather here got up to the low 50's yesterday. The snow banks are really ugly now, like 6 feet and dirty gray-blackish color......yuck.....

Congrats to all you losers....Way to go!

Be back later.....
Hugs..

Morning (almost afternoon) chicks!!!!

Happy BDay Michele!!!!!

Ok real quick update on me with my WI today....TOM ugh!!!!!!!!!! Was up .5 which isnt bad considering that i ate out a lot this weekend lol. But i tried to stay within reason and pick the best things i could. That went really well until last night and McDonalds double cheeseburger meal somehow got in my car  So anywho thats how my weekend went.

Glad to see that everyone is doing well.

I wanted to ask everyone to pray for a little boy at my church. He is about 2 yrs old give or take might be 3 anyway he is in the Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital in extreamely critical condition. He was sitting on the edge of the bathtub Friday night waiting on his dad to fix his bathwater when he feel backwards into the tub and hit his head. They have determined that there is a lot of brain damage and that he probably wont make it but should he survive he will have to be on a feeding tube and ventilator for the rest of his life. His mom and dad are about my age Mid to late 20's and they are having a really hard time with this obviously. So if you could just keep them in your thoughts and prayers they have been through a lot in the past 2 years. They were pregnant with triplets last year and two of them died before birth so they have had a lot of loss to deal with. I know most of you have children or grandchildren so please keep this family in your prayers and give your little ones an extra hug & kiss today!

Thanks

Jennifer - I like all luna's - will tell you that the dulce de leche and caramel apples are pretty sweet - I think they are the sweetest ones. Mostly they are like rice crispie bars with a candy bottom - the s'mores are also good, as are the nutz over chocolate.
Star - black, black, brown . . maybe a woven one in straw colors (I am also very bad about changing. . )

vibrantecho
03-07-2005, 02:26 PM
Star - nah, I wish. :)

BTW, my current purse is a gray and black houndstooth pattern - kind of a flannel-y material (over cardboard or something that makes it stiff-sided). I never change my purse out (well, summer/winter I do), so I try to pick one that goes with pretty much everything. I never got into the fashion purse, change it up for every outfit thing, either.

Edited to add: last summer I picked up a really cute straw one that had a fabric front, with little sundresses hanging from a clothesline appliqued on it. Very cute, but too small for all my day-to-day junk, so it only got used about three times before it went out of season. Can't wait to pull it out again one of these days!

Lunch in five minutes! I think I'm going to go hit the salad bar at the grocery store. Yum.

Fi - About lunch, our microwave here at work broke and that nixed my LC. I got a pita off the "wagon of death" (lunch truck). Oh Dear God, could I ever taste the salt in that ham - probably 1 lb gain there.

Purses - one of my DDIL changes her purse with every outfit and they are all designer. For me that is out of the question, I have favorite little spots in my seasonal purse for cell, makeup, etc. Julie - I also had a straw purse that I carried in the summer UNTIL DH told me his grandma had one just like it. After that sweet comment, it was in the Goodwill bag...lol

Designer Purse Parties (Fake). I did go to two of these parties and I bought a Prada knockoff purse and wallet (black) and some little beige purse. These purses aren't that cheap, like $35. The little beige number I have worn twice and have had it almost a year now......lol Maybe becuz my "diet info" stuff has to fit in the purse, so the tiny ones don't work.

Hi all!

Thank you for the Birthday wishes and Britt, :hb: :balloons: Happy Birthday to you too Sweets!! :hb: :balloons:

Well, i woke up this a.m. and I didn't feel forty??? But, alas, i am and i'm gonna enjoy this decade. I feel great, i'm getting this weight off me and it's gonna be great. Got a nice gift of Blue perfume from my folks, a box of socks from my bro (I love socks!) and I had a nice lunch date w/Bruce. He's nice and attractive, funny. We had a nice lunch at Joe's Crab Shack. I'm eating whatever i want today, but you know, i did really well at lunch and had a dinner salad and clam chowder and couldn't finish half of it. We also had crab stuffed mushrooms which were delish... But of course i guess i had to embarrass myself. While walking into the restaurant i hit a patch of ice, he was walking slightly ahead of me and boom...i went down, right on my booty! He helped me up, or tried too...i was so embarrassed. But i laughed about it too. He asked if i was ok, and i told him the only thing i think i hurt was my pride. But imagine him trying to help me up, legs all twisted, and i have a bad knee, i was afraid i'd pull him down...what a sight i'm sure.

Going to dinner tonight at a nice italian place with my cousins, i can't wait, i'm having a martini or wine tonight and dessert!!

We met at the knit cafe and i didn't have a good chance to check it all out so i went back there after and wow, what a great place. I met the owner and i may start to do some part time work there. I had a cup of decaf, sat by the fire, looked at some knitting books, just enjoyed myself. I got some yarn and going to make me a black fluffy scarf and some mohair booties for someone having a baby soon. So i'm off to knit before i leave for dinner.

Thanks again for the birthday wishes! You all are so sweet!

I haven't been to WI since Friday (was up 2.6  ), just too much going on, I will go in on Wed though. DH leaves again Wed, only for 2 weeks this time though. So I am trying to spend some time with him now since my best friend is safely on her way. I should be back on here sometime on Wed, I've missed you all! I had a nice surprise after my last post, a delivery of a dozen roses! They are from my cousin, her hubby and my niece and they are just beautiful! They are red, pink, peach and yellow! Then we went to dinner tonight and had a wonderful meal at this really quaint, elegant italian restaurant. Had wine, a nice tomato salad, homemade bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, a sirloin steak cooked to perfection and asparagus. Dessert was on the house for birthday people and so i had a really wonderful creme brulee that i shared with the girls. I've had a nice day. :) Bruce called me tonight too and we had a nice short talk. I know we'll see eachother again. Morning gals...

Well, my day's off to a lousy start! I hopped on my scale this morning thinking, woo hoo, I was SO good yesterday - and was UP .6!!!   What gives? My only guess is that since yesterday I drank a LOT more water than I have been lately, my body is retaining it all. :?: :?: :?: Any other guesses? Had a big lettuce salad with turkey and a small dish of pasta salad for lunch, and a small plate of spaghetti (sauce out of a can, so probably some sodium there) for dinner, and (gasp) three LA bars over the course of the day. It wasn't a PERFECT OP day, but a lot better than others I've had and I certainly didn't expect such a big gain...a small loss or staying the same, maybe, but not a half-pound up! :(

Okay, that's my vent for the day. I'm over it, I promise!

Michele, what a wonderful birthday!

Athena, have a wonderful time with hubby.

Good morning, chickies!

Fiona - you know it's water - sometimes the scale moves these ways that seem to have NOTHING to do with what we eat. . . The stars are in the wrong position or something.

Athena - we understand completely that your DH is taking most of your time! Thanks for the birthday wishes.

Michelle- I also had a really lucky birthday - got treated to lunch and dinner. And lucky you, flowers! And a follow up call from the date! I guess the tumble on the ice didn't hurt after all! The knit cafe sounds really cool - I have dreamed of owning a yarn shop in the past. (Have you heard my take on the 40's - I feel like it's sort of the goldilocks age - not too young, not too old).

What has happened to Karen/RWF?? I want to hear about the race?

Wish me luck on my second Project You day -hopefully I'll learn the steps a little better today. . And the second portion is arms/abs. Actually, yesterday I was glad that I didn't have a heart monitor - it would have probably exploded.

Also going out to dinner tonight - already know that I'm having chicken and sorbet - so I'm going to try to save both my starches today. . . I'm going to count the sorbet like ice cream, and there is usually rice or potato with the dinner. . .

Hugs to all!

Hi chicks......

Julie - About your heart exploding....please take it at your own pace, no need to kill yourself before you really get started. I'm so proud of you - you rock!
Sounds like you are having a social spree here, birthday celebrations, lunches, dinners, meetings. It's a good thing you don't have a 9-5 job right now. (I'm jealous).

Fiona - Don't let the scale ruin your day. Like Julie said maybe it's a full moon or something......When my scale doesn't agree with me these day I just say "whatever" and move on.....It works better than getting mad.

Rusty - Where are you?? I usually talk to her everyday or atleast M-F and didn't hear a peep from her yesterday. I hope she didn't take a turn too fast at the race track, hope she's okay. Yell at us Rusty.

Mitch - I didn't realize you are the big 40 - that deserves the kind of wonderful celebration you had! I was LOL about the fall, only becuz it sounds like something I would do. It's all in the recovery and it sounds like you handled it with grace, charm and witt. Plus, he called back - a sense of humor is so important.....lol

Sy - Well if I break down and get a hot pink purse I know I will be tempted to buy the shoes to match. I think that is almost a no-no nowadays. Oh well, since I"m too old to know I'll just stick with my basic colors......

Athena - Have a great time with DH, he sounds very sweet. Get back with us when you can!

Okay, I hope some of you can come out and play today. This board makes my day go by so much faster....pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee......

OH OH, almost forgot - Baby news. Glow-worm went for her 2 month checkup, she weighs 10.4, is 90% in height & head size and 50% in weight. We already have her pegged as a super model......lol The doctor said she's doing great and there are no signs that she was a premie.

Thanks for the warning about exploding heart rate - I'm sure that it'll be better in a week or so - I've just spent the past 6-9 months sitting on my butt, which does NO one any good!

Hi everyone. My neighbor's son delivered the Girl Scout cookies I purchased (only 2 boxes this year). The good news is that they didn't get opened and eatten last night. The better news is that I brought them to work and put them in the coffee area and THEY ARE GONE (and I didn't even have a sample). Now if I can continue to stay away from them (as I know others will bring in more). Sy

Ouch, Sy - I've been able to stay away from this year - although I did plow through a packet of the shortbread ones last year (I love the trefoils) - and was able to throw away the other sleeve. . .They sell them outside the grocery stores in this area, and I can usually just walk past. . . that took practice.

I just saw some info on here about Project You. Ofcourse I will have to see what it is.
Fiona - I just got rid of the pop-ups on here too. Well they aren't gone yet, but should be by tomorrow. I'm tired of that girls butt being in my face, she is an ad for some kind of diet. It is just annoying (now, if it were a guy......)
Sy - I can't say no to a girl scout when it come to cookies. I feel like it is my obligation as an American...lol I haven't run into any sales yet - hum? Probably good for me!

HI ladies, I lost 2 pounds this week, my first full week on lawl (do it yourself style). I even cheated by having regular breyers mint choc ice cream and on Sat I went out to eat ordered chicken fajitas and ate three....I was surprised and of course elated!

I have a question, do you gals eat morningstar farms veggie products? Are these allowed? Today I had the chik patties and I microwaved then put in toaster oven for a few min. I cut it up and put it in my salad. It was really yummy...tastes like crispy chicken, the fried kind! Any one hear anything about these products and lawl plan?

Also, I found Luna boxes 2 for $8 at Target....You may want to check them out....so that's 12 bars for $8...Good DEal!!!!

I've been skimming posts last couple days and it sounds like everyone is doing well. Congrats to all you losers! And keep it up!

Star: Good Luck tonight - hope it's more than what your asking!

Kimmy: Congrats on being -2#s. Way to go. You can have Morning Star products, they count as a protein. My book just states Vegetarian burger, any variety = 1 Protein.

Oh, back to the cookies. I visit my sister in a nursing home just about every Tuesday. Well, I saved her 6 CS cookies and I managed to get all 6 of them to her without my sneaking any. Hard to believe!

Okay, more news. Went to WI today and was down .2. At first I was up .4 and I asked if she would weight me again after I went to the bathroom. So, after the potty visit, I was actually down .2. She couldn't believe it, but it made me happy. Okay, so now - she asked me again how much I have been exercising. I told her at least 4 hours a week. She is the manager (by the way) of my center. Anyway, she said that my weight will probably keep going up and down if I follow the Blue Plan. She said that their dietician says that anyone that exercises 4.0 hours should be on the Blue Plan because I can't be getting all the foods I need (unless I'm cheating). LOL. I'm really not - or not that I don't write down in the diary. Anyway, she said to give it a try for 2 weeks, for me to come into the center at least twice a week (I have been slacking off on that very badly). I'm going to give it a go. She did say to try switch my foods around. Some days, have my larger protein in the morning and lunch. Each meal I should be having a protein and starch. Try it like that for 2 weeks and let's see if we can get your weight down. I'm going to give it shot. Last time after the put me on the Blue Plan I eat Chinese Food the following day, and was up in weight so didn't go to the center for 10 days - and was up another 4 lbs, so she said that it was not a 'real' try. She's right. I think she wants to me get the heck out of there. LOL! Me too!

Okay, dinner is calling me. Take care and I'll try to keep up better. Hugs to all, Sy

I'll have to proof read my entries a little better before posting. :o

Below should have read "my weight will probably continue to go up and down if I stay on theGold Plan". Another place I should have wrote 'ate', not eat.

I'm a little scared to try the Blue Plan again (as I don't want to go up in weight again), but I'm doing to give it a try. It really should give me enough food to eat without cheating, right! (I'm trying for convince myself to be more honest on the plan). Just hope that it works.

I'll be back to check on the posts in a while. Hugs, Sy

Good morning, chickies!

My abs are painful today - not used to all this exercise, I'd bet. That's all right, they'll get into shape (after a few more weeks!) And I hit 194 this AM again! WooHoo! Only 5 more to go for my March goal of 189!

Kimmy- that's great your first week! I love the morningstar farms garden veg burgers - if you're on purple you can have TWO as one protein. Any morningstar burger.

Star - Get Glow-worm a tiara! So glad that you have a nibble on the house! Just another step on the road to the lake! Are you going to find an apartment to rent? It better be on the ground floor so you can still :strong: :tread:

Sy - I always go potty when I walk in the door at center. I learned that trick at WW about 15 years ago. . . It sounds like you've gotten a good counselor - at least she didn't put you on GREEN.

I am thinking about if I should change my plan once I get this exercise thing going - but decided to wait and see if I stall.

Good luck today, chickies!

Good Morning Chicks,
Sorry I've been MIA. On Monday, the old computer died, and my cell phone had no service on it. It was like I had no contact to the outside world... Then Monday night I took a sleeping pill and I ended up in the bed all day yesterday.I was just pitiful all day... :dizzy: And now this morning, I'm sitting here trying to work all the kinks out... :^:
I still have 4 pages of posts to catch up on and I'll do that in alittle bit.
Ok, as far as my track experience goes. It was the coolest thing I have ever done in my life. It was also alittle scary on the turns too. The first time we went they told us we could only go 80 miles an hour. That was scary enough but the second time we went, we went 100. Going around the turns was like that fast was like being on a rollercoaster. It was really cool but I don't know how the drivers can do that for 500 miles and going 180-190 miles an hour. It wore us out just the few laps we went around. We are trying to get ahold of some more track vouchers to do it again on April 17th.
But anyway, My diet plan is way off track but I'm getting back to it today. I haven't had a very productive 5 days off so I really need to get started on things this morning and then it's back to work tomorrow...yuk :p Ok chicks, I'll be back after while... :D

Morning Chicks......

Well the people offered us $19,150 less than we were asking for our house. So we countered with adding $12,150 onto that. We will find out tomorrow if they want it. If not it's no big deal -they are only the third couple to look at the property.
if they take it that means we will have to be moved out by May 1st - yuck.
Julie - Hugs to your abs......here's looking toward a six pack..... About the downsizing, yes we will be either renting an apartment or buying a more affordable condo, not sure yet. This is all to make our goal of moving to the lake place, in 3 to 5 years.

Fiona - So I take it you are a shopper huh? Seems like you like to go from one thing to another, but never any down time? Always something to look forward to? You must have alot of energy. Oh wait, I forgot your still young.....About the scale, you didn't CHEAT - your were just Off Plan....lol

The manager said she would give me a Blue Plan booklet if I needed one. I refused, said I didn't think I needed it, but she did give me a Blue Plan Diary (and BTW, what was I thinking when I refused?). :dizzy:

About the house, I'm 'almost' hoping they won't take the counteroffer, so I'll have more time to be lazy.....lol

Good afternoon, chickies!

Survived Yet Another Birthday Lunch. Everyone should turn 46 if you get free lunches for a week! We went chinese - I ordered pineapple chicken, which thankfully was not fried, and actually very good. And only half of the rice - and a cup of wonton soup (salty). . .

Star - stand your ground on the price - in this area the prime buying time is in the late spring and summer. Is that true where you are, too? If you can wait, I'm sure you'll get the better price.

And I'm guessing your DS's inlaws have already seen the Grand Canyon - although it may be really cold there too . .

Sy - you are being so strong on the GS cookies -nothing succeeds like success, right? - something about seeing the scale going down keeps me going straight OP another day. . . I used to work with a group of skinny men (they are all over the computer business), and it was TOOOOOO easy to eat along with them.

Michelle - aren't these long lasting birthdays terrific. And so nice that they supported you on the weight loss thing, instead of just saying - it's your birthday, one piece won't hurt . . .(that's the kind of thing I have to stop myself from saying)

I miss the other posters from when I came on -- Sammy, Kristi, Marcie and Meegs! And I'm sure there are many others (another senior moment)

Karen/Rusty - don't think I could have done that race track thing at all -

About the book - right now, I'm working on a historical novel - I've had this idea for YEARS - I've got a goal to finish it by June - or at least get a good portion of it done before I head off to my summer travels.

Hugs to all!

SY-dang girl you are so close! I know you will get there and I tell you right at the end I was so dang deteremined and did not want to have to question what plan to be on so I stopped exercising all together and decided I would just firm up what was left, well needless to say, I am still waiting to firm up :o

Julie-how is the project you going? I have logged on three times to order and have not made that leap of faith mostly because I am being cheap as we just bought a new car and I was trying to stop spending money. Tell me abou the food eating plan.....

Fiona-good job on the car, we just bought a new car (new to us) a few weeks ago and it is nice cruising in that instead of the mini-van. Now I go to school in style :sunny:

Hello to all the newbies and shout out to all you dedicated chicks! I know I have been MIA but my life has taken a turn for the crazy! :dizzy: School started back and I got a prosecuting attorney for the federal govt. as one of my teachers and he is demanding and bald. Had a Monday night and not sure how I did probably not well enough for his standards. DH took a job and is now gone 4 nights a week, both my older kids are in sports that has been 5 days a week and I did quit my job as there was not enough time in the day. I know you are all wondering about my weight and well, I have not been to center since receiving my maintenance package. I just could not deal with the weekly stress of having to think about gaining ounces or pounds. I have probably gained back 5 but as long as my pants are still fitting I am okay with that. My goal is to get my butt in shape but between soccer, lacrosse, Noah and school I am wondering when my spare time is. I am really interested in the Project:You and I think I will order that. DH is in the process of looking for a different job and we were thinking that it would be a job in Boise but the deeper he looks the more he finds that his salary range is a "traveling" job. :( I never thought I would miss him so dearly and at the same time I am able to keep us going to where we need to be! It is like we have to pick up the pieces when he does get home and start over. I guess I will either get use to it or we will just continue to "exist" (That sounds awful huh :^: ) Okay, well that is my life in a nutshell. I always get on and see what is up I just always have limited time so I never post! I will try not to be stranger but I wish the dieting best for all of you!!! ;)

Sammy - I was about to log off, then checked the thread and saw you had posted!

About the Project You - it is an investment, both in $$$ and time - you can get it split the costs between 3 months if you want. There is also a thread in the BB forum for Kathy Smith about using other Kathy Smith tapes to get a similar workout. I posted this info in the Project:You thread in the exercise forum. Let me know if you can't find it.

From what I understand the food plan is similar to what she's posted in her ivillage pages - it's basically eating 4x a day at 350 cals a time - she counts dairy as a protein - you can have a protein with each meal, starchy carbs twice, and then two servings of produce (fruit or veg) for each meal. If the protein is low fat or medium fat, then you can add fat to the meal. (I'll see if I can find the ivillage link and post it for you - don't have time tonight!) The plan is not so different from LAWL, except no lites of course! And the veg portions are based on calories -- so things like lettuce and greens are in the 3 cup range for one serving. She does suggest limiting fruit to two times a day to lose weight faster.

I can only imagine how tough it is for you now that your DH is gone for most of the week. Just know, chickie, that you are STRONG and you and your family will make it. You have so much on your plate- with your children, your schooling and the upset as you continue to adjust. Eventually, you will adjust. I am so glad that you are continuing with your school - I think I would have thrown in the towel.

At least you can go to school in style, with the new car! (I'll get to see it in July, I hope!)

Major Hugs!

VVVV FFF SS PP, and 1 fat and 1 dairy -
Protein is 8 oz raw chicken, 7oz raw turkey, 6 oz beef, 3 eggs,
Dairy -8 oz yogurt, milk, 2 oz lite cheese

I'll get the new plan tonight, i think i may be up on WI, but after my birthday celebrations, i'm going to ignore it and see what it looks like next week. I WILL NOT let it get to me if i am up... I looked at the cookbook and it seems nice, i like how it tells you for 1 serving and how to count it, but they sell it for $28 and that seems like a lot. I'll have to think on that one. Perhaps i could find that on ebay too?

Julie, hang in there, don't give up. You'll be back down in no time.

Well I'm going to weigh in today - I was OP yesterday and down a bunch this morning, yay! - finally chased off that water retention, I guess. I haven't written in my diary in forever - oh well, I plan on getting my NEW PLAN diary today anyway! :write:

I took what feels like a huge leap of faith yesterday, even though it's not really that big of a deal - I contacted this Realtor my mom knows, and we are getting together over coffee next week just to talk real estate. Things aren't really working out like I had hoped at the company I joined, so this is the first step in exploring some other options. Eeek!

Michele - YOU hang in there, too! You've been doing great so far, and we all know birthdays happen! I'm sure you'll be back down in no time, too! Hope your back feels better soon, and that Bruce gets his personal stuff taken care of and picks up the phone! :crossed:

Julie, good luck at WI! I'm excited to get the new plan, it's about time - it feels like we've been talking about it for MONTHS! My center is franchised so I suppose I'll have to pay, but I hope it's not exorbitant. I noticed in the same ad that they've raised their price from $9 to $11/week. Makes me kinda glad I'm paid in full at half that rate!

Then he called back and said they want the house but want something to sweeten the pot, like a riding mower. I told him "no" again. As of right now, until noon they can still agree to buy the house for our counter, but after that we can move on without them. the other part, I failed to mention, is that our realtor is out of town until Monday, so this offer has been handled by her co-worker. Needless to say I'm not wild about him and think he has handled this differently than Deanna would have. :dizzy: Anyhow, I will update you at noon.

Hi to all you other chicks..... ;)

Good Afternoon Ladies~
I did it, I started LAWL today on the blue plan....so far finding it really easy to eat OP. I did not joing the center as I do not have those funds up front, but I bought the entire plan on eBay and chose the blue plan to start because the red was far too much food.

I did do the takeoff yesterday, but I could not stick with that way of eating for more than one day, so I just jumped in headlong today.

I am hoping to have great success as I need to lose a significant amount of weight. But I am prepared. I am hoping to be a thin version of myself by my 30th birthday (2 years and 3 months away)...so I know I am not rushing it, I am going for healthful, not crashing. And I am not giving up no matter what!!!

I was down at WI today - I broke the 30 pound marker (by .2) I'll be changing my avatar and tracker once I finish this . . .

Star - don't give in to them - they sound like they will be trouble all the way through - if they are this tough to start with . . . they'll be asking for unnecessary repairs, for you to leave the window treatments, as well as the food in the pantries and refrigerator.

Synn - you have the right attitude, and WTG for starting on your own! Truthfully, blue may not be enough food for you -so if you stall, you may try to up it to purple (you lose a starch, but gain more protein cals). TO is not for everyone - I save it for a plateau buster. I am with you about changing habits for a life time - if you haven't read it yet, may I suggest a copy of Thin For Life? It's full of case histories of people who have lost weight and maintained it for over three years. There is also a discussion thread going on in the maintainers forum for each of the chapters.

Fiona - have my fingers crossed for you at WI today .. .

Went food shopping, got a turkey breast and ground beef (haven't had that in MONTHS) - does anyone else crave beef around TOM? Plenty of yogurt, fresh fruit . . . I am stocked for the next several days. Makes me feel well equipped to be POP at least until next Monday . . .

Hugs to all,

Fiona - I just started this week, logging the exercise. I find the food diary pretty useless - I think I need to subscribe to the magazine to get the calorie counter - which I really don't need anyway ---

But some of the forum stuff is interesting --

Michelle - did you hear from the fella? I wanted to say yesterday that if you know that he's going through some personal stuff, and if you're feeling brave, it might be okay for you to call him and ask how he's doing. If he doesn't want to talk you'll know soon enough.

Julie, i've debated with myself all day if i should call him. After reading that book, He's Just Not that Into You, i feel a little differently about calling guys. I know it'd be fine if i did, i've called him before, but usually to return a missed call. I am a little worried but figure if he wants to talk he'd call.

What kind of advice does the book give you? That is not one that I've heard about.

Hi Ladies,

Well DH is gone again. He was being a grumpy turd yesterday morning when he was leaving. Told him I couldn't believe that after only 5 days I was ready for him to be gone again for awhile...lol ;) . Of course I miss him now, but he will only be gone for 2 weeks. Went to WI yesterday and I was up again :( , counselor said it is probably from stress, my BP was up a lot too. I made poor decisions everyday that DH was here and one whole day didn't eat any OP foods. But now I am back to POP and being good. I told the counselor that I was wondering when my face would clear up from all this water, I told her I feel like I am going through puberty again, she again said it is probably stress. My best friend made it safely to Oklahoma and her Dad is doing okay. There is still no Dr. that will perform the bypass surgery, because his survival rate is so low, he has a lot of fluid on his lungs from congestive heart failure. Hopefully he will have a turn around and he will get better!

I have more time now, so I am going to start going through all the posts and am going to address you all. I do so much better OP when I come here, you all are so wonderful!!

Good Morning Girls - Sorry I"ve been MIA - have been under the weather and just exhausted when I get home from work. I have a miserable cold and the grandchildren are coming tonight. Hope I feel better by then. My throat is sore big time. The coffee this morning helps but doesn't make my belly feel good. Have to get something in there with the coffee.

Congrats to all the loosers - WOW- impressive. I'm still strugging but doing much better. I never touched the candy bowl yesterday at work - thats a big accomplishment for me - not one hershey kiss and then another co worker brought in donut holes which no one ate so I'll have to look at them all day again. But I can do it -

Okay have to get my foods packed for the day and for the trip to meet my DD to get the kids at 3:30. They always want fast food because we dont' have one where I live so I'll agree and try to be good and not eat anything.

Have a great day and great weekend if I don't catch you before that.

I'm married but read it because I'm a librarian and I've
been asked for that title several times in the last few weeks.

Good morning, chickies!

The sun was up before 6:30 this AM - very nice - love these longer days. Just wish the temperature would stay above 50! This has been a colder March than usual - according to the weatherman and to ME!

Hi Beverly - sorry you've been under the weather. Enjoy your weekend with the DGK's. Do you have the restaurant guide (did I send that to you :?: ) you can have fast food if you're careful about what you order - I'm not really crazy about FF hamburgers - rarely eat them unless I'm on the road, but I dearly love McDonald's shakes and fries - cannot walk into one because of those. And good for you for staying away from the candy bowl at work. This is a tough time of year for me because I love Easter candy - especially those peanut butter fudge bunnies. . . And I love jelly beans. . .. I always tell myself that I"ll be thin by Easter so I can enjoy the candy - and I never am . . . Next year. . .

Athena - glad to see you again, chickie! I do find that the water is helping my skin. (and the sweat from the exercise, too, I think :) ) With all that is on your plate (DH and best friend), be gentle with yourself - life happens! I do think that sometimes we have to be our own best friends.

Star - what happened with the realtor?

Fiona - how is your ankle?

Jennifer - I never read The Rules either - That must be my problem - I am just not up on all this relationship stuff.

I'm having lunch with my DSister and DF at a sub place today! :( First time there - have no idea what they'll have - hopefully I can be high maintainence and keep focused and not be totally off track - I've had too many eat out occaisions these past two weeks. . .I REALLY want to be 189 by the end of this month!

Okay, where is Sy??? She's usually posted by now. . .

Skinny vibes to all!

Athena - I'm sure you are stressed, having DH away so much puts alot on your shoulders. Eating goes along with stress. About your face clearing up, have you ever tried ProActive? I have friends that swear by it. Anyhow welcome back gf!

Karen - WOW you rock girl. You are a couple pounds less than my goal weight :p So please tell me how it feels :?: Also I have noticed that you don't post much. I also know why - becuz you are so busy staying strict on plan AND it has payed off :cp:

Julie - We sold the house and we sold it to those strange buyers. However we didn't give them anything and they still wanted it. Ofcourse they got a great price. DH is happy with it and now we have to move :( We should close by month end. DH thinks we can be at our new place by early or mid April. That means I need to find my Wonder Woman outfit cuz I'll need alot of super powers to meet this time frame..... :strong: First plan, go to U-Haul and get boxes. Tomorrow I'm gonna go and look at some apartments with garages, that look pretty nice and at half the price of our mortgage payment. I will keep you posted on how things go. More than anything I'm gonna miss my basement gym setup, it is so sweet

Bev - Hope you feel better, hate it being sick! Good job staying out of the evil candy jar. I'm with you - I almost can't be near chocolate without giving in

Mitch - I read the Rules years ago. I could never figure out when a girl is so 'mean' why they guys would ever call her back. Needless to say, it didn't help me much. Or maybe it did, DH and I were only suppose to be 'hanging out friends' when we met becuz he had only been divorced a short while and I was gonna show him the 'single' life. After being married for 25 years - it takes some getting use too and since I had just had to do the same, I figured I'd help him out.....

Hey Sy - where are you chick? Miss you, come and yell at us.....

Hugs to all..............later.........

Athena, I've had the same trouble with my skin, seems it even got a little worse after starting LAWL, but i think it has to do with changing your diet and it's toxins getting out of your system, i also used some new skincare stuff that probably didn't agree with me, it's getting better but I thought the same thing, how could my skin be broke out with all this water? Hang in there.

Well, I broke down and called Bruce, had to leave a message, just told him i was wondering if everything was ok. Had an email this a.m. saying that he had tried to call (i have no evidence of that), he had bad news from dr., nothing contagious but needed to tell him mom and family and that he wasn't ready to talk about it. Sounds really bad to me... :( I just replied that i understood if he didn't want to talk about it but when he did that i was here and that i do care.

I was up at WI last night, i guess i knew i would be (about 4 lbs! :o ) But i'm ignoring it, will wait until next week. I did get the new plan, i like it. I'm ready to get POP.

Good Morning Ladies!
I stayed POP yesterday and am working on today as well...so far so good. :D

Julie~ I am actually finding the portions are perfect with the blue plan...at dinner last night I was actually having a tough time eating everything that I was supposed to. I also found myself still full from lunch that I almost didn't want to eat dinner, but I am trying to eat all my meals prior to 8 pm...as if I eat after that time, I have a hard time stopping.

I have chosen M, W, & F as my weigh in days....I read somewhere you are supposed to weigh in 3X a week (please correct me if I am wrong) and discovered that I am down 3 lbs since my last weigh in (Tuesday) :D :D :D . So needless to say I am excited!

I guess that is it for now...I will check in with everyone later!

Star - I feel your pain. Now, I think you should set up the garage in the new condo's for your gym. . . I hate to move. I will live in this little townhouse until my knees give out.

Michelle - I think you did the right thing. You kept communications lines open - especially since you knew that he had a dr's appointment he was worried about. We do have to give other people 'space' to handle things their own ways and let them bring in the people they need to work through things. (Does this sentence make sense :?: )

Synn - (is that your real name?) Good luck with the blue plan - I think that one is the most liveable! I think that once I hit my gold plan level (about 184), and if I can keep up with this killer exercise program - I will actually see about the blue plan. I do undestand about there being plenty of food most days - my question was mainly to do with having too big of a calorie deficit. I think that's probably why LAWL has the different colors for the different starting weights. . . From what I've been reading on different forums, too large a deficit convinces your body to hold onto every calorie. . That's why I suggested that if you stall, you may want to go up a plan. But - the BIG thing is do what feels right to you, and take all advice with a grain of salt (but use Morton's lite salt :D )

About the three WIs; that is LAWLS suggestion for coming to the center. I personally weigh myself every morning to start off the day in the right frame of mind for the day - I start off the day paying attention to my weight - does this make sense?

Hugs to all,
Julie

Thanks so much, it is definitely nice to find something that I can see working for the rest of my life. I used to do WW (both pre and post points) and found that while I loved being able to eat whatever I wanted, it was not restricted enough and I fell off the wagon much to easily and saw no point in jumping back on.

I admittedly do weigh myself each morning (sometimes up to 5 times a day...eeek), especially now that I have started taking Celexa...which oddly enough is helping in my efforts to become a healthier me as part of my problem is depression. Also, a few of the side effects are lack of appetite and dry mouth. Sad as it sounds, it help in controlling my appetite and making sure I drink enough water. Usually by this time of day I have already had 40 oz. of water. A bit slow moving as far as that goes today due to sleeping about an hour or two longer than usual. I am usually up between 6 and 7 and slept until 8 this morning.

This question is for everyone...what are you doing for exercise? Usually I walk, but being as it is still winter here (in RI) and it is snowing today, my walking efforts are a bust. I would love to have the space to get into "The Firm" workout tapes I purchased on eBay (told you I was addicted), but as of right now, that is not possible.

Any ideas? BTW, joining the gym is out of the question right now, as I am out of work on medical leave...told you I was crazy right???

Sammy: Great to hear from you. Wow, you are as busy! Glad your doing well. It’s great that you are keeping the weight off. Got any info to share on that? Thanks for the pep-talk about determination. Maybe I can get that motivation. I’m trying, but it’s so hard!

Metalchic: Wow, I’m so happy for you! 80 lbs is just unimaginable for me. You are at the weight I would love to be at (but I’ll accept the goal I set for myself for now). You keep up the great work. Got any advice for any of us? How do you stay motivated?

Julie: What type of history is your book about? I think it’s so cool that you are doing what you’ve always wanted to do. Oh, and I was catching up on all the posts. Work has been busy lately, and after going to the gym in the evenings I’m just beat (and too lazy to log in at home). I’ve fallen asleep on the couch twice this week and it’s been before 9:00pm. Maybe stepping up the exercise just takes some getting use to. Have to say that I sleep like a baby and wake up feeling great!

Tam: You got what you needed as far as the purple right? Tam, the Blue plan is ½ protein and 1 additional starch up from the Gold Plan.

Oh, ladies – by the way. My counselor said that anyone that exercises more than 5 hours a week should be on the Red Plan. Forgot to mention that the other day. Auditgirl, aren’t you the running? Are you on the Red Plan? Star, don’t you fall into that category too?

Mitchypoo: Now you have me curious about what could be wrong with Bruce? Did you get the new plan yet? Did they charge you? Still feel like Karen was getting ripped off for her center wanting to charge her.

Star: How are things with that offer on the house? Man, I can’t believe they want the price reduced and still want something to sweeten the deal. If they want the house, they’ll have to suck up and pay the price. Did the realtor tell them that you were downsizing and moving into a condo? Maybe that is why they keep asking for things? You know, realtor’s (sorry Fiona) are really working for the buying customer. They don’t make money without a sale. Yikes Fiona, don’t hit me on the head for that one.

Synn: Good luck on the plan. Remember baby steps will get you to you goal. The take-off plan is meant to reduce your body from craving carbs. If you find that is happening, give it another try for 2 days. Trial and error is the way to learn the plan. I agree with Julie about the Blue Plan may not be where you should start. My sister had over 60#s to lose and they put her on the Purple Plan. You may want to reconsider your choice of plans.

Athena: Welcome back. Hey, it’s got to be harder on a marriage when your DH is here and there, you just get use to him being gone and he’s back again. I’m sure it’s hard on both sides. Wonder if Sammy has the same problem?

Hi Jennifer.

Hope I didn’t miss anyone. I go to WI after work today. I promised I would make it into the center at least twice this week (have to do what I promised the manager and myself). I think just knowing that I was going in again is making me pay attention more on my food choices. DH wanted me to try some Canadian bacon that he purchased yesterday, had to refuse because of the sodium and the fact that I knew I had WI today. Then he asked why I didn’t ate the smoked pork chop that he took out of the freezer – well, same reason.

One of our bosses is changing departments and they had cake for him yesterday. I managed to cut and serve the cake, tell him congrats and get out of the room without having a piece. I was proud of myself for that. I have to keep reminding myself it’s the little steps that will make the difference. Plus, cutting and serving the cake, no one noticed that I didn’t have any. So I could get out of the conference room without being questioned why I didn’t.

Have a great day and I’ll be back after WI (or before if I have time). ~Sy~

Gotta leave in a little bit. .

Keri - Star is our exercise expert, but if you are just starting out - have you tried Leslie Sansone's walk away the pounds? I don't think you need much space, and you may be able to rent them from your video store to try them out.

I have broken myself of the multi scale trips during the day habit - (unless I go to the center, since I am still trying to fiqure out why my home scale is sometimes over and sometimes under the center scale)

I think in the maintainers forum there is a thread called something like Tales of The Scale - someone actually tracked her weight at various times of the day, after eating, etc. . . just to show how everything we do can affect the scale.

Hey Chicks!!

Told ya i would be MIA this week lol. Spring Break is a great thing but makes you sooooo not want to go back to school. I was supposed to work 1/2 day on Monday but ended up working all day go figure right lol cant even get half day off on my bday. Anyway i have been off the rest of the week except for this morning i went in to do payroll so was there about 2hrs not bad. Someone was asking about my birthday recap lol well there isnt one. I typically dont do a lot to celebrate it so it was just another day really. My boyfriend said he would send me flowers if i wanted him to so i said dont bother i mean should you really have to ask? And my mom asked if i wanted a birthday cake and i said i didnt care because again should you have to ask? I ended up getting myself a bday cake on Wednesday a small one and we are still working on it lol shocked it has made it this long. Everyone has a lot on their minds right now so remembering my bday isnt a big priority or a big deal lol. But i did get some money for my bday which im going to use on scrapbooking stuff. There is a CK Convention in Nashville this weekend and im going to try and go tomorrow to do a little shopping. And Im supposed to start next week at the Scrapbook Design University. So that should be fun that is my bday present to myself. So that was my uneventful bday lol.

Julie & Michele im so glad you had such great bdays!!!!!

Since TOM is here this week and i was up .5 on monday i decided to not even go back this week. So hopefully monday will be good. But i havent really been OP this week so who knows lol. I was down on my scale this morning however so thats good news.

There is no new update on the little boy from my Church so continue to keep that family in your prayers. As of monday night he had moved his eyes some and one of his arms so the family has some bit of hope but his condition is still critical.

Glad to see that everyone is doing so well and i will try to get back to my daily post on Monday. Everyone have a great weekend!!! Im going to a concert tonight (Gaither Homecoming) so talk to everyone monday!! Oh yeah wish me luck i still have a ton of school work to do and havent started any of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Julie: She didn't mention to me what was on the Red Plan, she just said it was too much food for me and the amount of exercise I get in. I think it's higher than the Purple Plan. I'm sure someone knows. I'll let them answer. Maybe we should start to new Thread with the different color plans and how much of what is on what plan? I only know the Gold and the Blue but someone who purchased the plan from eBay probably has the entire selection? Not sure.

Sy - I meant to add earlier - that you are doing so great leaving the bacon, smoked pork chop AND the cake alone. Like Star said -who was that masked stranger???

Michelle - what are the free to live cards? I never got those.

Star - I am sure you'll figure out where to work out. Why don't you find a place with one more bedroom than you need. (Of course this is easy for me to plan for you. . .)

BTW - made it through the sub place - had a grilled chicken sub with mustard - only half the bun, but all the chicken. And I did have about 10 french fries. So I am also very proud of myself.

Hi All. I joined LAWL 5 weeks ago and I have lost 12 lbs so far. I am trying to lose a total of 80 lbs. The counselors said I should reach my goal by October 25. I am very afraid of failing, because nothing else has seemed to work to date.

Any pointers?

Sy~
Yes...I think the Celexa is helping, but I also think that eating slower and enjoying what I am eating is helping. Of course planning my meals, and setting times to eat them helps too....except for today because I feel yucky (sinus infection), so I am eating when I get hungry. I went from 8:30 this morning for breakfast to 4 pm for lunch...I was not hungry at all.

As far as what I am eating....I eat things I know fill me up...I have an egg each morning (1/2 Protein) for lunch I sadly stick with my tuna...I love the stuff and it fills me up, and dinner is chicken or turkey (tonight its Venison).

As far as my starches go, I stick to light (diet) rye bread, Kavli thins, or a rice cake.

Veggies- cucumber, romaine lettuce, green peppers, green beans, celery or snow peas. (note the emphasis on green veggies)

Fruit- apples, oranges, grapefruit and pineapple

I mix it up a little each day and enjoy knowing that this is easy for me to stick to and in the end I will be healthy.

Hi Chklithunder, and welcome! Sounds like you are doing great so far! My only suggestion is that you keep on doing what you're doing, because it sure sounds like it's working! How did you decide on LAWL?

Hi Chklithunder,

I think 12 pounds in 5 weeks is terrific! I started with 83 pounds to lose, too. It does take time. It also takes following the program (duh), but by that I mean limiting life happens events - which is next to impossible for me.

And sometimes we do everything right and our body doesn't react the way we want it to.

So, for me part of the journey is to learn patience about the whole thing!

We are a pretty chatty group especially during the work week. Let us know how you are doing!

Hi Julie, up so early? Got plans today? I'm doing the usual. Getting dressed and getting out of the house shortly. Jule, I never saw the cards either? Michelle, give us an update please so we know if we are missing something.

Welcome Chklithunder. Wow, 12 lbs in 5 weeks is awesome. Think positive thoughts, congratulate yourself with non-food items when you deserve it. Each time you have the willpower to pass something up, puts you 1 step closer to your goal. Many ladies on here has got to thier goals or are almost there.

Star: Going to miss you. Have a great time with the grandbabies. Hope David and his friends has a great time in Canada. Hope the falls are not frozen. Never been there is the winter months.

Synn: Sinus Infection is another common side effect. Take care of yourself. Thanks for the food info, I pretty much do the same. Good Luck and hope your feeling better. Drink lots of water, and maybe you should invest in a humidifier to keep some mositure in the air?

Well, WI yesterday as great. I was down a pound. They are telling me that the Blue Plan is working and maybe it is - but I've only been on for 3 days? So, now I'm 6.6 lbs from my goal. Still working on getting there by my birthday. I think my dumpy moods are getting better since the days are getting longer. I love the fact that the sun is coming up on my way to work this week - and that's before 6:30am.

Gotta run and finish getting dressed and out to enjoy the morning (so I can get back home and get some cleaning done - I'm almost out of clean towels). Hugs, ~Sy~

Hi Sy - I find that I wake up when the light starts coming in - which gets tougher in June!

WTG on being down a whole pound! You ARE SO CLOSE! You will make your March Goal for sure. I am doing the happy dance for you!
