Dee wanted me to post this to the group:

Would you post this for me? Can you believe i forgot my password?

Lots of sad news on the board, prayers are with you.

I wish we could all be here together sharing a drink. Wouldn`t we have a blast!!

No news is good news, not much to report on this trip so far.

We are enjoying the sun even thought it has been mostly coudy the last seven days. It has still been hot. Its a good break from the intense sun.

We have dined at some awsome restaurants, enjoying the seafood and romantic ambiance.

Our time with Aunty Sally and Uncle Albert went fast but was very nice to have family to share our memories with. Vivian was also here with us until Friday night, we miss them all so much.

Because of my back, we werent able to do the activities we planned. If we can go there by foot we can do it, car-bus-boat are out of the question right now because of my back. Getting lots of physio because of the walking. My leg has improved alot since I have been here. My back is sore.

The most exciting news we have to share is while watching the sunset tonight from our rooftop balcony, there was an earthquake that scared the crap out of us. That`s our first one ever and hopefully our last.

We have been meeting lots of nice people here and taking it easy.

Adios, we miss you,

Darlene & Larry

I'll be back later to post!!!! Shelley, yes, I ended up getting my hair cut~~~ I really like it! I also color my own hair about every 1.5 months. Around here, a simple 1 step haircolor like you can do at home runs $50.00-$60.00!!!! I wore the black slacks, a voilet short sleeve shirt and the multi purple striped blouse/jacket over the top.

 Hi everyone!

02-28-2005, 10:30 PM
Hi Mary!! I've wondered what happened to you!! So glad you dropped by to say post with us again!! Wow...I noticed you've lost 107 lbs!!! WTG!! :cp:

Gayle...Post a picture of your new hair cut!

Dee....Thanks for sending Gayle an email.I was getting worried about you! When you coming home? Miss you!! Glad to hear you're having fun!

Ramona....Can you get on now? If you still can't I'll see if I can get your password for you. Miss you.

How is everyone else?

I've got to lay back down. I'm STILL sick. I worked today though but barely made it. But I do feel better tonight.

03-01-2005, 12:09 AM
Sherry, hope you are feeling much better very soon. Take care of yourself!

Gayle, I wanna see that new haircut too!!!

03-01-2005, 07:02 AM
Gayle-Post a picture!! Thanks for keeping us informed on Dee. I'm glad she's having a restful time.

Mary-Keep on posting! I'm glad you came back. Remember, I'm the one that sent you that creepy email!!

Sherry-Please feel better! I have been feeling bad also. Yesterday I woke up very dizzy. Took a meclizine and went on to work. I was kind of dopey all day long, but today I am not dizzy at all. I think I'm just imagining all this stuff wrong with me. I never get sick!! Once I get past Friday's 2nd mammogram, I'll feel much better I'm sure!!

Got up late today--4:45!! GTG!! See you later!

03-01-2005, 02:54 PM
Shelley, you take care... how come they are doing a seconfd mamogram??

Ramona, nice to see you back here!

Sherry, are you feeling better??

I know Sher and Deb watch the show, I just found out the season premiere of NASHVILLE STAR is tonight. 9:00 CST and it looks like a repeat at 11:00 CST.
Soooooo, I guess I can still get in my dose of AMERICAN IDOL!!!! (at 7:00 CST) :-)
Also tonight is the season premiere of the AMAZING RACE at 8:00 CST, I'm not that fond of it, but Allison loves the show. Gosh, guess I'm a walking, talking tv guide today!

03-01-2005, 06:38 PM
Gayle-I guess I didn't tell ya'll. They saw something on my right breast, and just want to make sure it's okay. Wouldn't you know it's the one that is the smallest? I am 2 different sizes (**** finding bras!!) Anyway, I'm sure it's okay, I am getting nervous about it though.

03-02-2005, 06:50 AM
Hey, I'm down another 1/2 pound today! I'm psyched!!

03-02-2005, 08:17 AM
I'm feeling a lot better now! :cp:

My weigh-in last night was down 1.6 for a total of 8 lbs!! :cb:

Shelley...WTG!!! You're doing great!!!

Have a great OP day everyone!!

03-02-2005, 09:19 AM
Sherry and Shelley - Congratulations on the Weight Loss - you are doing great.
Shelley don't worry too much about the mammogram - they have come a long way with tests. I had a lump removed a couple of years ago that the mammogram detected, it was right against my rib cage. Its better to be safe.
Hello to Everyone one else.

03-02-2005, 10:43 AM
Shelley, I'm 2 different sizes, too. In fact, I think most women are, some are just more noticable than others. I had a friend in college who was a B and a D. Talk about problems finding bras. She went to a plastic surgeon to see about getting them evened out to a C. He told her that all he would do was enlarge the B to a D--it was too much trouble to do a reduction.
I'm sure that you'll be OK as far as your mammogram is concerned. I'll be thinking of you.

Hello to all my other Floozie friends! Sorry I can't post more--this office where I'm working is so much busier than my normal office! I love the extra work, it makes the day go faster, but I miss playing on the computer!

03-02-2005, 10:53 PM
Hello floozies!

I just finished watching American Idol and thought I would quickly post. Gayle, what did you think of Nashville Star last night? I felt so bad for the poor girl who had to leave the stage to puke! Do you think she will get lots of sympathy votes???

Shelley, I'm sure everything will be fine. Just keep a good thought and let us know when you hear the good news.

Sherry and Shelley, way to go on the weigh-ins. You are a great encouragement to me.

I had a tremendous reality check this week...I busted the seams out of not one, but two different pair of pants. One was my favorite jeans and the other was a pair of my work pants. I bent over to pick up a warrant that I dropped on the floor today and "thar she blew!!!!" I'm ashamed to say that I've let my health problems and other things in my life act as excuses for me to let myself go. I can't even bring myself to post what I weigh (after I finally got up the courage to step on the scale this morning), but let's just say it's not pretty. My face is so broken out I look like I'm 15. Some of this is from the food I've been eating and some because I'm fairly certain that my hormones are changing...rapidly! This is one reason I haven't been posting. I just didn't feel worthy. Of course, what I should have been doing is posting every day so that I could gain strength from you all. So, that's what I'm asking for tonight. I have to turn around now before I am so far gone that I can't find my way back. I know you have all been where I am now and you all seem to stay so focused on your goal. I'm going to rely on you to help me keep that focus. Thank you all for being a steadfast vessel in the storm of my life. I love you all.........

03-03-2005, 06:56 AM
Ramona-Have you tried WW? I just love it! It has helped me get to my goal, and below. You know that once you put your mind to it, you CAN do it!! Now is the time to get back OP. You have done the right thing by posting to us. I know that you have been in pain, and are busy and think constantly about your boys, but you MUST make time for yourself. Take it one minute at a time if you have to. When you go to the store, park at a spot that is far away. I always try to find a space that is farther away, unlike my daughter who has to be at the nearest spot at all times. That little bit of walking will help tremendously. You may want to try to make time to take some sort of walk. You will be amazed at the stress relief that it gives you. I know for me, that running with my music in my ears is the best thing that I can do for myself. Keep posting, and we will give you the motivation you need! I love you!

Thanks ladies for trying to make me think positive about tomorrow. I asked Mike, what if I have cancer? He said "you don't have cancer. You have none of the symptoms, such as loss of appetite and lethargy." I can definitely say I don't have loss of appetite!!LOL!! Never have, and probably never will!!

03-04-2005, 10:24 AM
Ramona--post, post post!!! That's what we're here for!!

Shelley, I'll be thinking of you this morning.

I think the people who were voted off on American Idol were good choices to be gone. For the guys, I like Bo and Anwar and for the girls I like Carrie and Mikala (however she spells her name!).

Hello to all my Floozie pals!

P.S. My detail "home" was extended for two more weeks! Yea!

03-04-2005, 01:47 PM
Ramona - you are my inspiration right now. Reading your post you could have been talking about me. I don't post when I haven't been looking after myself either - I like you don't feel worthy of the others on the board. I have taken a look at myself and said I can do this. When a week goes by that I haven't posted, you can be sure that I have read everyone else's posts every day. I have had a lot going on in my work life, that has me stressed to the max. I have just taken by former employer of 14 years before the Labour Board this past Wednesday, my nerves were shot. They brought their lawyer to do all the talking. I only had my husband with me for support. I am a stress eater need I say more. I ate a whole box of cookies in bed the other night.
I am feeling better now and determined to turn things around for the sake of my health and well being.

03-04-2005, 08:33 PM
Janice-Sounds like you have had a rough time. Sending happy vibes your way.

Cheryl-Our whole city is going Vonzelle crazy, since she is a hometown girl. They have been having Vonzelle parties, write ups in the paper and talking about it on the radio. They are selling Vonzelle t-shirts to support her trip to Hollywood, if she makes it.

I'm not sure what to think of happened today at the breast center. The radiologist is suggesting to the dr. that I have it drained. If it doesn't have any fluid to drain, they will take tissue and biopsy it. The reason they think it might not have fluid is because on the xray it was dark, but the girl said that it could be dark because of blood. Anyway, it's only the size of a pea, so I don't think it will be a big deal. So now I'll have to make another trip there, once the dr. tells me what to do. Ugh!!

03-04-2005, 11:58 PM

Hello Floozies,

I've decided to join your merry band of internet losers :) Please help me as I embark on my journey to lose 35kg (77lbs)!

My bio has been posted on the BIO thread, if you're wondering who the **** I am.

Thanks for reading!

03-05-2005, 01:05 AM
Welcome Krystal (darkfair)

So happy to have you! We are all a very friendly, happy bunch of ladies. I hope you'll make yourself at home and get to know each of us.

I would love to visit Australia!!! Lucky you! I bet you have that awesome accent!!

Again welcome!

03-05-2005, 06:32 AM
Hi Krystal! I'm going to check out your bio. I would love to visit Australia. My SIL and BIL both went there on their honeymoon. They would love to live there. Welcome to our group of vivacious, crazy, and wonderful ladies!

03-05-2005, 06:38 AM
Krystal- Just read your bio. You're just a baby! You will love it here at the Floozies. I have lost my weight through WW online, which is basically WW at home, except that I do everything online. I originally lost 20 lbs. on WW online and reached goal in 2002. Then quit journaling and somehow gained back 7-10 lbs. I rejoined online this past November, and lost back all the weight that I had gained. I have been doing Core for a couple of months, but still journaling and counting points. You will love WW, and good luck on your journey. We are all here to help in any way we can. If you have any questions, just let us know and we can help. Keep posting everyday!

03-05-2005, 11:26 AM
Shelley, I know everything will be fine. It's just so hard having to wait and letting your mind wander. Keep the faith and I'll hold you in my heart and thoughts.

Sherry, thanks for your post. I didn't have the courage to post my weight but let me just's exactly the same as your high was!!!!! I've done really well for the last 4 days and I can already tell that I'm losing a lot of water weight just by cutting out all the sugar I was eating. Sugar is absolutely my nemesis!

Krystal, welcome to our board!! I'll have to pop up and read your bio. I hope that you will find the encouragement you are looking for here. Just join right in!!!

Gayle, I'm really wondering about the hormone thing now with some major changes I'm going through. I wanted to ask though...I've been running a low grade fever, anywhere from 100 to 100.6 for almost two weeks now. I don't feel ill. I was just wondering if you have run across anything like this in your research. Thanks for any help you or anyone else can give me.

Hey to all the other floozies.......hope to hear from you all this weekend!

03-05-2005, 12:01 PM
I know the question was for Gayle but I wanted to jump in and give you an answer on what I think. Anytime you run a temp. of 100 or more it's a temp. That means there is infection somewhere. Go to the Dr. and be checked out. Two weeks is too long to run a temp. like that. Normal is 96-99.
Congrats on making good choices for 4 days!! :cp: You can do it!!

03-05-2005, 12:22 PM
Thanks Sherry! I'll call my doctor on Monday.

03-05-2005, 12:54 PM
Ramona- Glad to hear you have had four good days.
Krystal - Welcome to the board, you will get a lot of helpful information here.

03-05-2005, 03:46 PM
Janice, thanks for the encouragement. It sounds like you fit in perfectly here with the rest of us.......LOTS OF STRESS!!! hahaha. The last year and a half has been incredibly stressful for basically everyone here. We've all gotten through it together, with lots of love and concern. I hope your work situation was resolved to your benefit!

03-05-2005, 07:25 PM
Ramona-I agree with Sherry. Sounds like you have some sort of infection somewhere. Running a low grade fever for so long is not right. Let us know what the dr. says.

Becky and I had a great time judging Odyssey of the Mind today. I'm so proud of her. She is so vocal and says just what she thinks about everything. Totally unlike her mother!

03-05-2005, 09:25 PM
Thankyou for the warm welcome ladies.

Sherry, I sure do have the accent! The Sydney accent is not as broad as say, the Perth or Darwin accent, but it's all Aussie :)

Shelley, thanks for the compliment! I'm honestly feeling older than my 22 years, I guess it's all down to this extra booty I'm lugging around!

Ramona, hi! You sound like you should definitely get along to a GP, a two week fever isn't exactly normal (unless you take Fatblaster or a similar supplement, I took it for two weeks and I was burning up the whole time)

Janice, hello and nice to meet you.

As for WW, Im actually enjoying tracking my points (I wonder how long that will last?!) I'm yet to get the hang of the sugar points thing, but I know cutting back on sugar is one of my top priorities. I'm digging into a healthy lunch right now, ham and cheese with alfalfa and WW honey mustard dressing on honey oatbran bread - and a diet coke ( I need the caffeine, I'm stuck in the office by myself on a Sunday and I'm going to sleep!)

03-06-2005, 08:08 AM
Krystal-I have heard that the WW in your part of the world is different than here. I'm not sure what you mean about the sugar points. WW here measures fiber, calories and fat, in that order. Sugar is measured no different. Can you tell me how the WW there measures food? I'd be interested to know. I have also heard that the Core plan is called no counting over there. Since I have been on Core, I have basically stopped sugar. That's my downfall also. It kills me, but today I am running over 10 miles, and whenever I do that, I have to take some kind of sugar with me to keep me going. That's the only time that I have been having it. I'm not sure what I'll bring today. Probably a piece of hard candy or a couple of licorace drops.

03-07-2005, 08:14 PM
Shelley - We have the "Time for Success" program currently. We don't have Core or Flex programs as far as I am aware. On the Time for Success program you're allocated a certain amount of points per day according to your weight, at 110kg I'm currently on 24 pts a day. The more weight you lose, the less points you have. You can "bank" up to 4 points a day from your 24pts, but they do not carry over into the next week, if you don't use them, they expire. You also earn bonus points for exercise, which you can cash in for extra food that week, they expire at the end of the week too.

The "sugar" and "alcohol" points from what I've gleaned from the Aussie WW forum are part of your normal 24pts a day (not extra) and WW recommend that you don't exceed 14pts worth of sugary food or alcohol during a week. They count a sugary food as one that has sugar in the first three ingredients, like doughnuts, cake, biscuits(cookies), chocolate, etc. 1 sugar point=1 regular point, so if you have a cookie that's worth 3 pts, that's three of your sugar points for the week GONE. :( Some ladies do quite well not tracking the sugar points, others don't.

'POINTS(c)' are measured using kjs and saturated fat. For example, a blueberry bagel at 1300kj with 2g of saturated fat is 5 points.

Sorry for the essay, I'm feeling verbose today :)

03-07-2005, 11:37 PM
Ramona....Did you call the doctor today??????

Gayle.....Are you ok g/f? I'm worried!

Dee....Are you home? Miss you!

Where is everyone???????????

03-08-2005, 06:41 AM
Sherry-I was wondering the same thing! When is your next WI? Mine is tomorrow.

Krystal-Honestly, I don't know where everybody is. Normally, the ladies are posting once and sometimes twice per day. Your WW sounds like the older points system here. That's how I lost my weight in 2002. It's a great plan. I'm sure you will do awesome! Thanks for keeping me company on the exercise board.

Gayle-I'm getting worried about you. Please post, or at least email me.

Dee-You must still be on the beach in PV. We are anxiously awaiting your return.

Debbie, Janice, Ramona, Jennelle, Vicki (I really miss you both!!), Cheryl, Doni (where are you??), Carol, Mary-- hope you are all doing okay!

03-08-2005, 10:09 AM
Hey everyone! Just popping in to say hi to everyone and "Welcome!" to Krystal. I'm still lurking around, keeping up.

Love all,

03-08-2005, 05:56 PM
Hello everyone,
I am reading all the posts everyday, just don't have too much to add lately. After last week I'm glad this week is quiet for me. We did spend most of the day Monday at the heart specialist. Doug's blood pressure is way to high again. He was put on more medication.

03-08-2005, 07:43 PM
Thanks to the ones who are checking in.

Hello  to the ones that aren't. I hope you're ok and hope you post soon. I DO miss you! :grouphug:

I'm not going to be doing WW this week. I have been having a lot of pain with my hiatal hernia and the doctor seems to think it's my diet. Even though WW is VERY healthy, she seems to think somthing is lacking or causing my problems. If you remember last time I was doing WW I hurt all the time. Next Monday she wants me to go back doing WW and see if I hurt again. Does anyone have any clue as to why?

03-08-2005, 09:14 PM
Sherry-I don't understand why the diet would have something to do with it.

Okay, since you are giving health news, I'll give you mine. The dr.'s office called today. Now they want me to see a surgeon. I really don't understand. She said something about having the cyst aspirated and biopsied. She also said not to panic. Now I am panicing. My consultation with the surgeon is next Wed. That is just the consultation. Then there will be another appointment after that for the procedure. This little mammogram has turned into 4 appointments. Tell me not to worry.

03-08-2005, 09:16 PM
I know when I don't drink enough water, I get a lot of pain. I doubt that has anything to do with what is happening with you, but I can't think what it would be.

03-09-2005, 12:08 AM
Shelley, don't worry. These days they just like to cover all the bases. I know it will be fine.

Sherry, hope you are feeling better soon!

We all have the stomach flu here....bad, bad stuff! Hope none of you get it.........

Gayle.........come out and play soon, I miss you!!!!

Back to bed now.

03-09-2005, 06:58 AM
I dropped another 1/2 lb this week! I'm down to 126. I hope I can keep this weight.

03-09-2005, 08:00 AM

Please Go To #30............A New Thread Has Been Started!!!!! :D
