Thank you "DAN2112" for the big WELCOME. I am going to log in everyday and make the most out of this forum. I used to belong to a center some time ago but of course stopped going. Now there are no centers around here in NJ to go to even if I wanted to.
It may sound lame -- but I am happy to be here. I am happy to be able to chat with others who are following the same diet plan. People who are able to answer my questions about food and hitting plateus. I can actually scream off the top of my lungs on this forum and say yes "I AM ON A DIET" and get respect, space and consideration.
It is so hard dealing with people who say things like:
"That's all your having" or "You can cheat one day, it won't kill you" or "Are you going to eat that plain without sauce, gravy or dressing" or "My plan is better than yours in which they .... blah, blah, blah" or KNOW IT ALLs who say "You should give me the money and I will put you on a Plan".
I hope you are laughing at this point because yes it can be aggravating and humorous at the same time. I tend to have silly prolonged outrageous sometimes heated discussions as to why I can't eat foods that are not on this plan. I even went as far as to trying to make friends with the people who also go to the center that I meet in the waiting room but they either are stuck up (ha, ha, ha) or do not want to take it serious.
But thanks very much for the WELCOME :D I see you have worked hard in your weightloss journey and I hope to be just as successful as you.

Hi Everybody, im new to this site. My names Tess im 22 from California. All my life ive struggled with my weight, always fighting it. IT was always the worst when i would go out with my family, to dinner or theme parks, i didnt want to take pictures or get on rides i felt like i wouldn't fit. I had started la weight loss last june, but i kept getting on and off of it, i never stayed on for a long period of time. im starting to relize im a binge eater, to push away feelings and hurt, to cover up what i dont want to express, if im not eating im angry. Im starting a detox program tomorrow, im hoping to jump start La weight loss after the detox on Thursday, Does anybody have any suggestions for me? I sure can use them. i hope to post more and get to know everybody on here, I wish you all the best of luck in ur weight loss journey.

Hi Tess..
Your story is just like those of many of us here.. I'm an emotional, binge eater too.. But it came to a head when I hit 300 a year and a half ago.. I finally found myself in a mentally able place to start losing weight..
You are so young that once you've made both the subconcious and concious decision to do it, you'll get off the rollercoaster and will just get to it...
You've made a good choice by hanging out here... There is a lot of support and advice to be gleaned..
I've learned that once you make the choice, there's no going back.. You will realize there are better ways to deal with pain and hurt.. Eating through those emotions only makes things worse..
This is not a diet.. This is a lifestyle choice.. Once you make that choice, the only way to succeed is to remove yourself from areas of temptation.. Get your family and friends involved so that when you are with them, they support you rather than put you in a position to cheat.
GET THE CRAPPY FOOD OUT OF THE HOUSE!!!
The first time you choose NOT to give in to a craving or a binge moment, you will get this little burst of happiness.. That's a victory to hold on to.. It's really a shot of endorphines that gives you that extra incentive to keep doing it..
Then you will realize other victories.. When you go shopping and your cart is full of fruits, veg and lean proteins, you will feel SO GOOD about yourself when you see other people with carts full of crap.. Sure, you may miss that food (we all do), but then remember the evil that food does, when eaten in excess.. Is it really worth a few moments of pleasure in the mouth? Pretty soon, you'll say NO!!!!
Join us in the "Losers and Friends" forum topic for general discussion and questions.. Post early and post often!!

Hi everone,
I'm a new member of LAWL, I just started earlier this week. I'm pretty excited about it and really hope this is the last answer to weight loss I'll need, I've tried so many other ways but never had the motivation to stick to it before.
I'm a mother of two young boys age 5 and 2 and also work full time. So finding time for me is not easy as I work oppostie shifts to my husband. When I got married 6 years ago I weighed around 140, now I'm 187. I'd like to the extra 50lbs I've put on over the years.
I did lose weight a few years ago. I was around 150 and somehow, without trying went down to 126. How the heck I did that is beyond me and I've always figured I could do that again, but I never have lucked into that twice. ;)
So I just wanted to say hello, I'm glad I found this forum here and I wish everyone a really great time in their weight loss journey.

Hey! I'm Tiffany! Let me tell you a little bit about why I decided this weight loss journey....
It all started over a bottle of tequila in Mexico for New Years 08. My dad got me a little tipsy (I believe he was too) and we decided to make a new year's resolution. Our new year's resolution was going to be eating healthy and working out. I wanted to lose weight. He just wanted to build muscle. So.. here I am.
I started my journey January 3, 2008 by signing up with YMCA. Working out around 3-4 days a week. My starting weight was 185. I also started eating healthier. Then I worked my way down to 170.. simply by working out and watching what I eat. Over spring break, I gained a couple pounds so I am currently at 172.5
Two days ago I went to LA Weight Loss just to see what they had to offer, and see what the program was all about. Sold. I signed up and started the program.
My goal is to get in the 130 range. If I get to 130 and want to keep going...then great but otherwise I would be completely satisfied with 130. It's set up that I should be at my ideal weight by Aug 6th of this year. I know I can do it. I have a lot of motivation, support and just plain will power!!!! I'm not posting pictures throughout my progress. I want it to be a big surprise!! :)
Some of the things I love to do is play with my cats, go out to movies, dining out, going clubbing, hanging out with friends, going to Mexico, going to the mountains, family time, and drinking margaritas on the beach! :) I live alone, well of course I do have some cats but other then that I'm single and just working to get by! :) Hmm, I think that's about it!! See you around! =]]

:belly:Hi everyone! This is the year that I am finally going to lose the weight! I've told myself this many many many times before, but it's never happened.
All my life I've been concerned about weight, I can remember as far back as seventh grade thinking that I was fat. I attribute this to negative feedback from my dad, he meant well... he just wanted me to avoid the problems that my mom had faced with being overweight. Looking back, I wasn't really overweight until my mid 20's when I started gaining into the 130 range. In 1993 I weighed roughly 110, I am 5'0 so this was an ideal weight for me.
I was drawn to LAWL because of a friend that is almost at her goal and has lost 100 pounds on LAWL, she is inspiring! When I started LAWL the 1st week of February '08 I was 185, I set my goal at 135, but have since decided that I think I can make 125. If all goes as planned, I should meet my goal in August/September timeframe.
In the short time I have been a member, the LAWL plan has really changed my life! Already in week 9 I am down 20 lbs and have not felt a need to stray from the plan. Generally speaking, I do really well with rules and checklists, so the fact that all the rules are layed out for me has been a big plus! I am excited to continue onto my goal!
Personally, I am married (11 years) and have 3 children. I work full-time and recently got my bachelors degree.

Hello, all,
So happy I came upon this site. I've always been the big girl. Heck, I was almost 11 lbs when I was born. I'm tall (5' 10") and I carried the weight well. I quit smoking early in 2007 and just got on this total health kick. I'm a single mom with two kids and a full-time job. It was always easier to swing through a drive-thru on the way home from work than to go home and cook after working all day. That was my downfall.
I started LAWL in March of '07 at 263 pounds. My original goal was 171, just a number I got off some website that said it was ideal for my height and age. Well losing was too much fun so I decided to keep going to be able to say I lost an even 100 lbs. I hit my goal in Feb of '07. Then I got this attitude that, hey, I can eat whatever I want since I lost 100lbs! Wrong!! Luckily, LAWL educated me enough to know what I need to eat. So now I'm back on track. I'm not going to the center anymore because of pressure to buy so much, but I'm using Luna bars instead of Lites and being just as successful. I've started doing some Tae bo at night for excercise and have more energy than I've ever had before. My kids like to excercise with me so it's kind of a family thing now. My son has even lost 15 lbs! I'm so glad I decided to make this change in my life and also glad I found this site to offer me some support.
Thanks, Julie

I joined LAWL at the end of Jan. 08. What can I say besides I've struggled w/ weight all my life. Different diets, but never keeping the weight off for too long. I had lost 30 lbs. on WW when I was 18 & kept it off for 5 yrs., then I met my husband LOL! Never liked the group setting of WW so the one on one counseling @ LAWL works better for me. The smallest I've ever been was a size 14 (but not a 14 plus). I was thrilled w/ that & would be happy to be that size again!
My husband & I moved across the country from PA to AZ about a yr. ago & it wasn't an easy adjustment (leaving all my family & friends). Was in a huge depression but now thanks to medication & therapy I am in a much happier place & was finally able to make the decision to do something about my weight again!
This board has given me alot of helpful info. So I thought it was time to stop lurking & finally join, so here I am!

Hi Everyone!
I had been wanting to join LAWL for a while but never did – one morning last week that all changed. I got up in the morning to go to work and my pants that I bought two weeks prior (and at that time cried about the size that I had to buy) were too tight. I called LA right away and went in for a consultation that afternoon. My starting weight was 164.6 and my goal is 120, but it is about so much more for me. I want to be able to feel confident again. I want to be able to wear a bathing suite or even a tank. I just want to stop eating and start living. As soon as I finished take off and got into my plan I set a personal goal of reaching 120lbs and maintaining it for a year & booked a trip to Jamaica for exactly one year from the day I joined!
I am doing Plan 3 (not sure what color that is?) without the lites and I love it. As of today (exactly one week since I joined) I am down 4.4lbs and my energy and confidence are already on the rise.

I guess I should post a bio... you people are truly an encouragement to me. I am a mom of 4 girls that I love to pieces. I am married 11 years this summer. I stay at home but teach music on the side. I never struggled with weight before and this is all new to me in the last year. To make a long story short.. it has been a REALLY stressful season but I am on the other side. Now that the dust has settled, I have an extra bunch of poundage I am lugging around. I have had 4 kids and the lbs have always come off easily. This time I tried to up the exercise (usually works and I got down to 175 on my own but was stuck) but made the mistake of cutting my calories to under 1000 a day. I think I screwed up my already messed up metabolism. A friend of mine went through LAWL from our old town and I thought I would give it a try as I was tired of trying everything else. I LOVE the program and as much as it hurts our budget, it is worth it and DH supports me. I am making many sacrifices but am SO happy! I am doing this one for me... maybe that is why it is so easy to stick to plan. I am seeing lbs go.. (7 in a week:eek:) and it makes me want it even more. I deserve my old body back and the energy I used to have, no matter what anyone has done to me or what life has brought me. I also want to look good for my man and model good eating and exercise habits for my 4 little girls who used to ask me why I was not eating lunch... (the same reason I don't have a scale is those girls.. i try to measure with my clothes) This is a new start for me and I can't wait to bring the new me for a statement of how I can not only live through ****, I can defeat it! I have not told anyone that I am trying to lose weight, I just want my actions to speak louder than words. :sssh:
I am shocked at the amount of food we are allowed to eat (remember I was eating little and then sometimes binging.. I just never knew what my body really needed). I am doing the lites as I have a huge sweet tooth and I find it curbs my cravings.... Thanks for your honesty and good luck with the road to a healthier, more confident YOU!:bravo:

Hi!
Glad I found this forum. I am from New Jersey, Married with 2 kids. I work a full time job as a police dispatcher. I joined LAW in 2004, loved the program, hated the center! I lost about 35 lbs then, and managed to find it all within a year of leaving the COD!
I kept all my diet info from the center and have recently gone back to it, minus the bars of course. I work shift work and have managed to follow it as best as I can, hopefully this time I can take it off and keep it off!

Hello, I am a stay at home mom to 2 little girls. I have done LAWL off and on for about 3 years. I love the plan and I especially love the take off and the 2 day take offs. I have learned to weigh myself once a week because if I see weight gains I usually end up quitting. I like the plan but need to learn a little variety in my meals which is another reason why I tend to fail. I hope by joining this site I will learn new recipes that my family and I will enjoy and to get support that will motivate me to keep going.

Hi,
I just want to say first, that this is a great board. I have learned so much in the past few days of joining. Weight loss and a (somewhat) firm body is something that i have dreamt about for many years. This year, i decided that i am going to make it my goal. At 44, i am begining to feel the reality of being overweight with little exercise and believe me, it does not feel good. I have seen others just a few years ahead of me become old because of their poor diet, lack of exercise amongst other things.
I have joined LA weight loss and will be aiming to lose 30 lbs to about 128. But, in honesty, if i hit 140, i will be happy. I would rather be a taut 140 than a flabby 127!!!

Hi everyone. Nice to join you.
I am Tanner. I am 35 yo and live in Alberta, Canada with my dh, 2 dd and 2 ds. my kids are ages 3, 5, 9, and 17. I am a SAHM.
I have been working out on a regular basis for 2 years and not an inch or a lb has been lost. I work out hard and sweat mucho . I ate pretty well but nobody is perfect. I had my thyroid checked and that is not the issue.
I am 5'4. I was 110lbs before my first pregnancy (but way too thin). After I was 120lbs (funny thing was that when I delivered I was 9 lbs thinner than I am right now). After my second I was 125 lbs. After my third/4th I never lost the weight. I have never been below 158 lbs in more than 3 years but probably more likely 6 years.
I joined LAWL 16 days ago. My goal is to lose 30-40 lbs and get in shape , firm up. I don't want jello arms any longer. This IS my year to shine!!
I am on plan 2 with 2 lites/day. I stay POP and hope to see some changes. I have also started water workouts.

Hi everyone! I'm 27 y/o Angela from Louisiana. I'm half Filipino and half Caucasian, and I enjoy exercising (I really do, I know that makes me a nerd, but getting all that oxygen in me feels good). I'm 5'1", and I weigh 154.6 as of today (May 4th). I started LAWL at 170.8 so I'm down 15 pounds or so. I should be at my goal weight, but I kept jumping on and off-plan. I called myself a "cheater" because I would cheat so much on this diet.
I'm a News Anchor, so it's part of my job to look good. Just a week ago, a viewer wrote in to me and told me to never wear plaids on television again. That morning, I had put on a colorful plaid jacket because it was warm weather and I felt like celebrating a little bit in my wardrobe. :D Obviously, that was a bad decision, because the viewer berated me and told me that I'm "too big to wear plaids" and I'm "too pretty to be as big" as I am. She told me to get a handle on it while I am young. :?: Way harsh! But she called it like she saw it, and it was sort of a wakeup call that I can't get away with the excess weight like I thought I could. :^:
The viewer didn't know this yet, but 3 weeks ago, something clicked-- I started listening to hypnotherapy tracks right before I went to sleep, and now my willpower is amazing. Usually, I'd want to eat the delicious food in front of my face. Now, I can look at that same delicious food, and feel so little desire to eat it. It's amazing the difference it's made.
I was getting a bit bored with the diet, eating the same foods over and over, but now I have a magic weapon in my arsenal-- "The Hungry Girl Cookbook." I am a huuuuuge proponent of this book! :carrot: It has done so much to make me feel satisfied and happy with what I eat. :) Everything in there might not be exactly on plan, but it's close enough. I will admit that it's slowed down my weight loss, but it hasn't stalled it. And I believe that eating these delicious, feels-like-I'm-cheating foods have kept my resolve strong and helped me to not cheat. :) :) :)
I plan on reaching my goal by September at the latest. Wish me luck! But I'll NEVER wear plaids on television again, you mark my words!;)

This is exciting!
I stumbled upon the website yesterday while looking for some LAWL recipes. I am from eastcoast canada and after successfully loosing 30+ lbs last year and unsuccessfully gaining them back I decided to join LAWL because it is working for a few friends of mine! I was always athletic and I am looking to get back into shape.. Hopefully this will help me on my journy! I have been there for a week now, down 3 lbs and no complaints yet!

I too am so glad I found this site. I am 29, married 3 years, no kids and work in higher education. I have been overweight most of my life, but it got worse when I was in graduate school. Almost 2 years ago now, I joined LAWL and committed to loose 50 lbs. I did it in 6 months. I was VERY strict with myself and never ate food that was off plan. after maintaining for a year, I have gained 10 lbs back. I am so disgusted with myself but feel much better after reading posts here.
My biggest struggles since hitting goal have to do with everyone's view that since I am "no longer on a diet" I can eat whatever I want. This has been a huge stressor, particularly with my inlaws, and I have simply given in too often. I also am a stress eater and my DH was laid off 4 months ago and the job market in the area is very slow.
I started take-off today - and hope that this site will help me keep on track, now that I am no longer going to the center.

Hey all! I am really excited to find this board. I am 2 weeks on plan and have lost 12lb's! I did lawl back in college eons ago (okay only 5 years ago) and then fell off and didn't hop right back up.
I'm 25 years old and getting closer to my 26th birthday. GuLP and I really want to get a handle on my weight before it starts to really affect my health. My husband is super supportive, but he doesn't eat on plan with me really, but we are getting better at fixing things that I can have. And even though I still am making my daily stop at Starbucks, they are now use to filling up my water bottle for me instead of making my caramel macciato. heehee (they have good filtered water unlike my office)
I would appreciate any support from those of you willing to throw it my way. AND any advice on how to stick with a budget while doing this.
LOVE the board and am really happy to be here!

Hi All! My name is Jodi I have posted a few times but I thought I would introduce myself. I am married 13 years with 2 kids a daughter 8 and a son 2.
I began LAWL in 2004 and lost 35 lbs before moving to a new city and becoming pregnant. Now my son is 2 and I have had a horrible time keeping on track. But now with the support of this website I know I can do it. I have restarted the program. I am going to the center although I don't get much support there, every week I go in there is a new COD. Anyway I updated my weight because I haven't weighed for a while. I will weigh again on Friday so we will see how my first restart week went!

Hello!
I'm restarting my L.A Plan again. Did it in the past at the L.A center and had good results when I did stick to it. I've been off plan for a very long while now and looking forward to getting back on track again. A few changes this time around though...No lites and I REFUSE to go the center itself. I haven't had very good experiences there and I would rather do this on my own here, and with your support. Good luck to all that are on program. May we get our "happy numbers" in the end =)

Hi All!
I'm new to LAWL (Joined 2 wks ago and down 7 lbs). I tried WW a couple of years ago and lost, but I still figured out how to eat JUNK and stay within my points :nono: That helped with weight loss, but not healthy eating.
After some thinking, I've figured out why I gained my weight. They are 8, 10, and 11 yrs. old, and I love all 3 of them dearly. I had all 3 of my children within a short amount of time (39 mos. to be exact :o). I kept 10 lbs. on with each of them and gained another 10 because I got LAZY about being active. I'm currently at 174 and would like to get down to 140. I just turned 34, and I decided I was ready to be the "old me" (the healthy, confident version...).
I know the only way I'll get to my goal is to find a healthy eating plan that I can live with, STICK with the plan, and EXERCISE. The exercise is the hardest part for me because I could SOOO be a gym rat! I was in college, (back when I wore a size 3 :lifter:), but my nearest gym (and my LAWL center) happen to be 50 miles away!
I'm hoping I can depend of some of you to keep me motivated and moving! I've been "hovering around" for the last couple of weeks, so I feel like I know some of you already. I tend to be incredibly shy, so it took me awhile to actually post! I guess this is the first step!
Looking forward to losing more!!

Hi Everyone!
I am married with no children and have been fat my whole life. In March of 08 i decided it's time to do something about my weight because I was so unhappy with myself and disgusted everytime I saw a picture of myself. I went to the center on March 16 and joined. I was very strict and stayed POP and have lost 29lbs on the plan. Then summer hit and my life got very busy and I strayed somewhat. I have maintained but am disgusted because if I had stayed on plan my weight loss could have been 45lbs instead of 29! I decided this past Monday to get back on plan and the scale is not budging!
I am upset that my center is closing! I need accountability and am depending on all your support and advice to get me through this! My friends don't understsand why I want to lose weight...they tell me I am just fine the way I am. I am a very outgoing person and usually the life of the party but with this weight loss I have to limit alchohol and they say I am not the same person since starting this program. So I am here to get support from all of you! Anyone have any advice on breaking this plateau??? I exercise 50 to 60 minutes 5 days a week!

Hi Everyone,
I am new to LAWL too, I joined it on Aug 11,2008 after trying to lose weight on my own many-many times and never really succeeding. I am really liking this plan because I am eating more fruits/vegetables than I ever ate and also I am not starving myself. So, although I am not loosing like a lot of people here who lost 6-8 lbs in their take off or first week, I am still loosing weight, so I am very glad that I made the investment in LAWL program. I go to my center 3 times a week and come on this board almost everyday to see how everyone is doing and all the other important information that is shared here.
This is my 4th week and I have lost 8 lbs, so I am feeling very good about it. I think they will take my measurements this week and will change my plan from Monday, lets see what that is like! I am not using LA lites and I am on plan 4 right now.
Thanks to all of you for providing such great support here and I look forward to get to know the community :)
Got my "privilege" of using a ticker today so very happy about it :carrot:

Hi everyone. I have to confess that I have been "spying" on you all for the past few days - lol. I have decided it's time to introduce myself. My name is Jodi and I'm a mom of 2 amazing girls ages 6.99 and 9, and been married for 10 years next month.
I have had weight issues for most of my life, yet looking back at all of my old photos, I don't look overweight at all. Part of the brainwashing from my peers, I suspect, that convinced me that I was fat.....
anyway, long story short, I finally got my head out of my butt and on November 2, 2007, I stopped smoking - YAY!!!. I have since gained 25 pounds. Since I was already 50 pounds overweight (for real this time ;) ) that didn't help matters at all.
Anyhoo, I have been walking 2 miles/day with my Nordic walking poles - which I LOVE - and being so good about my food choices and NOTHING is happening. Can you say discouraged?? One of my bf's has been on LAWL for a few months and is having tremendous success with it. She heard that I was getting down and sent me all of her LAWL info. (I live in a small town of 350 people and the nearest LAWL center is an hour away). I am a research geek so I've been reading and reading and reading your posts on here regarding the plan and went ahead and started on the Quick Start on Wednesday and yesterday. I am VERY proud to say that I found it quite painless to stick to and am down 5 pounds and am to start my "journey" today.
I am a person who needs to be accountable and needs a good support group or I can convince myself to drop out of anything......LOL
I look forward to getting to know you all better and cheering you on in your successes!

Hi there, I too am new to this board. I have been doing LAWL for 4 weeks now and I am down 8 pounds which they tell me is average so I feel okay about it. I have been exercising every day this week to see if it will come off a little quicker.
I am 42 and have two teenagers 13 and 16. I have been married for 18 years and my husband and kids are very supportive. I was thin all my life until I quit smoking 6 years ago. I gained about 25 pounds as well. It was terrible however I wouldn't take up smoking again now for anything.
I started LAWL at 176 and weighed in last at 168 which is very nice. I am hoping to lose another 10 in the next month. I like that I have to be accountable to someone and its nice to have a support group.
So hello everyone and goodluck to all of us!!!!!

I hear you on that one!!! I feel so much better since I have stopped - I just wish I could convince my gf who I mentioned above to stop smoking too. Good for you!!!! If we can do that, we can do anything!!

My first challenge was quitting smoking. My next one is losing weight. If I can do both, I can do anything!!!!!
If your gf sees you doing this, it will encourage her. Just let her quit smoking on her own time.
For me, eating was so easy to substitute for a smoke. Now I just have to substitute exercise for dessert!!! haha
Have a great weekend!

Hi!! I'm new to this site, fairly new to LAWL. I joined in July, and have slowly lost 14 lbs. Found this site, and am so glad because my center is closing. I'm so bummed. I can use all the support I can get.
I'm 28 years old, single, and have been struggling to lose weight for a couple of years. A friend turned me on to LAWL, and I've been happy with it so far. I live in SE MN, and I work as a speech language patholgist for a small school district in an elementary, middle, and high school. For fun I spend way too much money on yarn and fabric as I'm an avid knitter/crocheter and quilter. No kids, but I get to spoil my 3 nieces (5 yrs, 4 yrs, and 4 mos) often.
Look forward to getting to know people here, and losing more weight!!!!

Hello All - another Jennifer here!
I also lost my center a while back (I hope sweetiepie19 vbmenu_register("postmenu_2400644", true); center did not close in CA - I read about the closures in eastern Canada). My mother lives in Alberta and has been getting vibes they are in touble there as well.
Anyway, my bio: Live in Arizona, two grown kids, a pround Military Mom (one air force brat, who is now home from Iraq and finished in the server - thank god - but is thinking of going back in as he can't find a job stateside!)
Joined LA 1 year ago, and had good success, but fell out of the habit and quit - by the time I wanted to resatart, they closed. Started @220ish, currently 179 (actually lost 1 pound the past 3 days!) and have a goal of 140-145.
Look forward to meeting you all and supporting eachother!

My name is Dawn, I am originally from MI but I left there 6 weeks ago to travel with my husband who drives a semi. I realized that since I left I needed to get back on track and LA is easy enough to do on the road. I found this site on accident and I think it will be a good place to get and give the support we all need.

Hi, I'm also on my second go-round with LAWL. I think maybe this time I am motivated to give my health a shot. I am going to try to focus on being healthy, making good food choices, excercising, etc. I started last Thursday and am already down 2.2 pounds:). I plan on being very active on this thread.

Hi there! I went to LAWL when I was 14 years old and lost about 12 pounds, but I cheated and quit shortly after. I'd like to give this plan another try but cannot afford to go to the LAWL center and they are closed the times that I'm available. So anyways, I may need your help if I have trouble along the way! I currently weigh 220 and would like to lose at least 75 pounds.

Hi everyone. It is my 2nd go round as well. Last time I used it to lose those last 15lbs and it worked. Well I got lazy and 65lbs later I am trying again. I am on my second day of the purple plan w/ lites and I promised myself I would do it this time.

Hi, my name is Lauren and I am from Louisiana. I'm 20 years old married to my hubby since October 07. On my wedding day, I weighed around 200 pounds. I felt beautiful that day, but around 6 months later I knew something had to give. I set up an appointment with LA Weight loss and started the program on March 11, 08 at 208.6 pounds. It was an expensive program for two college newlyweds to undertake, but it has been entirely worth it. I lost 50 pounds in 6-7 months. I have been about the same weight since September, fluctuating back and forth because I haven't been very disciplined through the holidays and need to get back on track. I went into my center yesterday and found out that they are closing. It is kind of a relief to not have to drive out to weigh in with my busy schedule, but I know at the same time that it may hurt my weight loss because I won't be held accountable anymore. I wll have to hold myself accountable for what I eat! Nonetheless, I still have 10-15 more pounds to lose and need to get in gear to exercise and diet like I did at the beginning of my program! I found this board today with other LAWL clients and was so happy! Can't wait to meet everyone and hear their stories.

Hi Everyone!
I found this forum a few months ago and finally decided to join. I have been overweight my whole life and thought I always would be as I have tried to lose weight many many times without success. In March of 2008 I joined the Biggest Loser Club online and lost 15 lbs over a couple months, then stopped. In August of 08 a couple friends recommended LAWL, they were on the program and it was going great for them. Since August I have lost just over 26 lbs. Not quite the 2 lbs per week that I am "supposed" to be losing, but I am happy with it and am excited to be only 10 lbs from my goal!!
I am looking forward to meeting everyone, and sharing advice/stories.

A few years ago I was following the LAWL diet and was amazed at how well it worked for me. After trying everything in between for the past few years I decided to give it try again. #1, I can't find my plan and really don't remember very much about it and #2 now that they are no longer in business how can I get the plan? Can anybody help me?

I joined LAWl 6 days ago and am happy so far. I realize that is not even a week ago, but to me any weight loss is great. I have had a struggle with weightloss my entire life. I have tried most diets including some dangerous pills. I have lost a lot and a little and I always seem to find it back. I decided that this is it. I am going to loose weight this time even if I never eat Birthday cake again in my life .
I am still nursing so I am on a modified plan no Takeoffs or supplements, so I am afraid after 4 weeks I might plateau. I lost 3.8 pounds my first 5 days and I have stuck to my plan like glue. I will not waiver in anyway. I made a promise to myself and will try my best to succeed.
This website has been a tremendous inspiration to me.

Hi ladies! I'm Katie. I joined LA Weightloss in November of 2006. At that point, I weighed 212. I lost a lot of weight. In May 2007, I weighed 174 and found out I was pregnant with my first child! Of course, while I was pregnant, the centers closed. Unfortunately, I still had bars purchased and weeks purchased that I never got. But the program worked! Now, my son is 13 months old and have been nursing him since birth. I have decided that I can't use nursing as an excuse any longer. I am now 178 lbs (lost 3 in the past week!) and want to get to 160 by May when we take him to meet Mickey Mouse in Florida! My ultimate goal is 125. Any advice and encouragement is appreciated.

Hi! Although I'm new to the forum, I already love it :D I did LA weight loss two and a half years ago--loved it and lost 30 pounds then met my SO and completely fell off track. I moved to Texas 7 months ago (with my SO) and, although it has been great for me professionally (I FINALLY got a grown-up and stable job), it has been extremely stressful because of leaving family and friends and a 5 month unemployment stint for my SO. Needless to say stress has just contributed to my 40 pound regain.
Anyway, I have decided enough is enough. I'm going to be 30 in 3 months and I DO NOT want to enter my thirties at the heaviest weight of my life. Also, I have a four year old mare that I need to start under saddle and I feel too guilty and embarassed to get on her at this point. I just started back on the diet Monday and I already feel so much better! (the two pounds already lost isn't hurting either!)

My name is Debbie I am 45 yrs old. I am married and have 1 dog and 1 cat. The furry kids keep me entertained. No children...not by choice, just can't have them. Hard fact to face for me so for the last 10 yrs I have eaten everything in site to squish down my pain and disappointment.
This past Jan/09 I woke up and realized I am wasting my life feeling like crud.
Time to pull up my drawers and act like someone who is worthwhile. I decided on LAWL because it fits my lifestyle. I am married and will have hubby on the plan too. We both want to shape up before summer comes. Nothing worse then another FAT summer.
I am slowly getting motivated to move my butt and eat right. I found this board again and want to be more active on it for support and friendship. I look forward to chatting with everyone and losing weight together!
I live in Ont. Canada and spring is slowly coming, the days are getting warmer and we are seeing more sunshine. It gives me an excuse to get outside and walk. Good luck everyone on your jouney. Deb:carrot:

Hi there! I am Dawn-- and I started on LAWL 2 weeks ago. I have lost a total of 8 pounds so far, and I hope to continue to lose.I am 42, and I live in East TX with my husband and one of our five children (all the rest are grown and gone -- :carrot:), two dogs and a cat. I have yo-yoed in weight loss all of my life -- but this year I stepped on the scale and realized that I had put almost 200 pounds on my 5'2" body-- way too much. It is time for a change in my life -- not just a diet. This forum has been an inspiration to me, and I hope to get to know everyone!

Hello!
I am new here. I am trying LAWL on my own since all the centers closed here in WA awhile back. Back then I was doing well on the program....then gained 20 more pounds! Aaaaahhhh! Today is just Day #2 for me, started on Fast Forward/Take Off (I don't remember what that is called) yesterday using the Knudsens juice. Can't wait til tomorrow for some real food :)
I turned 40 in December and am finding it WAY harder to lose weight the last couple of years. I decided the time is NOW. I am motivated and excited and hopeful. I am coming here for support/cameraderie, hopeful that my motivation and excitement can stay higher than it would without support.
I am a married, stay home mom (after running a day care and preschool in my home for 14 years I closed it one year ago) of 3 kids - DS 19 (20 in Aug!) DS 14, DD 8.
Hope to get to know everyone!:coffee2:

Hi everyone! My name is Jeanie, I am 27 years old. I am married and have 4 kiddos, ages 7, 4, 3 and 18 months. I work part time as an office manager and attend nursing school at night. I actually joined the site 2 and a half months ago, but this has been a difficult quarter for me at school so I haven't posted much.
I have done LAWL in the past. I did it in 03 and lost 50 pounds. Then I got pregnant with my second baby and due to complications ended up on bedrest for months. I didn't deal with it well, so I ate out of boredom and worry. My last three pregnancies were all pretty much back to back, all with complications and bedrest, so when all was said and done I had gained back the 50 pounds, luckily no more than that.
Anyway, I have been doing LAWL again since late April. I have lost 20 pounds so far, but I seem to have hit a wall for the moment. I may go ahead and drop down to the gold plan from the purple, even though I was ten pounds lighter when they dropped me last time.
I am doing this on my own, no center. I just bought the missing plan materials I needed from Ebay and I use Luna bars as my lites.
Anyway, glad to be here and I hope to get to know you all better!

Hi all. My name is Melissa. I'm 31 and did LAWL in 2007, luckily I met my goal weight before all the centers in Las Vegas closed. Since I met my goal weight at the end of 2007 I became pregnant and had my baby boy at the end of 2008. I'm now back to my original starting point and have to loose all that weight all over again.
I had a couple empty food dairies at home and I'm going to be using Luna bars as my lites. I'm thankful to have found this site to keep me on track since I don't have the option of going into a center this time around.

Hi everyone,
I've been successful on LAWL before. Got lazy, gained almost all the weight lost back again. I've tried it all, WW, South Beach, LAWL, Nutrasystem...I would have a small fortune if I still had the $$ I have spent on my quest for a smaller body. Anyway, I was most successful on LAWL -- so, here I go again. I'm 52 years old now, was 44 when I did the program before. I've been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and I'm on synthroid now. I've been married to a fantastic, supportive man for 26 years, have 2 children, one daughter, one son; 2 granddaughters ages 5 and 3 -- they are the love of my life and I want to be able to see them grow. So this is it -- I HAVE TO GET HEALTHY. I work full-time as an operating room nurse in a stand alone surgical center. We are extremely busy and I am on my feet all day long. The weight is causing much joint pain -- I NEED TO GET HEALTHY. So, I am asking for your help and support to keep me on track this time. I say thank you in advance.

Hello everyone,
My name is Jennifer and I'm 37. My husband and I have been married two years and have three kidos 17, 13, and 8. I'm a Christian and love Jesus, he's my rock
I moved to Bozeman, MT when we got married but travel back home to Arkansas as much as possible. I love doing things with my family. We do everything from riding 4 wheelers, camping, playing games, and every once in a blue moon my hubby gets me on a snowmobile (not often because he takes it to the limit, and I'm a slow rider). I am starting my healthier lifestyle journey with my best friend Jamie from back home (long distance of course). I am excited to lose some weight but more importantly I want to change my eating habits for good. :carrot:

Hello everyone,
My name is Lisa and I am 38 years old. I have 2 wonderful daughters (5 and 2) and have been married for 6 years. My husband and I recently moved, I started a new job (went from classroom teaching to district-level work) and with the decrease in physical activity, I've managed to gain 40 lbs. in a year. :( My aunt used to do LAWL, and I did it with her for a little while about 10 years ago, probably lost about 15 lbs. then, and it seems like a reasonably healthy program to be on, so I'm trying again!
I hope to find a lot of information on this site, and some motivation too, since I'm not particularly a self-motivated person when it comes to not eating things that taste good but that I know are bad for me!

Hi everyone!
My name is Kelly...I recently had some medical issues and was pretty much immmobile for three months! I wasn't happy with my weight before that, but at this point I'd love to just get back to there. In 3 months I packed on 20 lbs. It's horrifying to look in the mirror. My profile pic was taken the night before my life was turned upside down and this extra 20lb weight gain began (October 4, 2009)
I'm 36 years old mother of two heavenly girls and two earthly girls! My job is my family and I love it.... I feel like 2010 is my year to get healthy again. So I pulled out my dusty LAWL menu plan and I'm back on it as of 4am this morning.

I am so glad to have found this forum. My name is Christina and I did LAWL 5 years ago and lost 56 pounds and went from 181 to 125. I was so proud and happy but when my bf and I moved in together and i got a new job I got way to comfortable and have gained all the weight back plus some extra baggage. I have found my old LA diet resources and have decieded to give it another try. the only difference this time is i wont be doing the LA lites I am going to try the Luna bars as i have heard they are similar to the lites. the past few years I have tried other diests such as WW but the only plan that helped me dramatically was lawl. I hope by finding this site I can stay on track and be encouraged by you all.

HI! I'm so glad I found this group! I am a former LAWL success story. I lost 107 pounds when my center was open an active in my area. I was 40 years old and had the epiphany that it was do or die so to speak at that time. I busted by buns and followed the plan pretty much to the letter (yeah I cheated, it took a FREAKIN YEAR can you blame me for sneaking a no no snack occassionally?) but from Memorial day to Memorial day I reached my goal weight. 2 months later my center submitted me for consideration for advertising and I was flown to Miami with 7 other successes from across the country for a photo shoot and filmed a commercial which aired nationally. You can still google my name and see my photo ads pop up. I had surgery shortly after returning and was placed on surgical hold and before I could get back my center was closed. I never got my maintenance. I was devastated and regardless how much validation I had from being chosen to do a national ad for the company as well as getting local recognition and doing print work stemming from that, I began to eat again. I was (excuse me) PISSED OFF!!! I now realize that I used that as something to hide behind instead of going forward with my success. This morning I woke up and decided to stop living with regret and to be proactive and find a support group an dig out my old diaries and go it ALONE...without a center. After all, the reason I chose LAWL in the first place was because you didn't have to purchase prepackaged foods, they taught you how to eat what you normally ate in proportions...how to eat for life...how to live. So here I am and here you are and here we go together. I'm off to purchase a rotiserie chicken which was my fast forward of choice meat and some bagged salad greens. Day 1 of round 2 of my wake up call. Thank God for light bulb moments.

Hi!
I'm a former LAWL customer from the old center days! I was on LAWL in 2006 for about 6 months and went from 171 to 145. It was great! The diet was easy, healthy, and successful. Then the bleep hit the fan and my center pretty much closed up shop over night and I lost a few boxes of lites. I wasn't too upset because I had already lost the weight and was just glad for the time I had with them.
Well, fast forward to 2008 and was in even better shape at 141 and solid muscle. I was in the best shape of my life until the fall, when I had a health emergency that resulted in surgery and weeks of recovery and altered eating and no exercise. To too it off, in the spring of 2009 I had to have another, completely unrelated procedure done. At this point, my fitness drive relaxed a little and I gained weight. I was 150 last summer.
All in all, I was ok with it because I was still pretty fit. I even signed up for the Disney Princess Half-Marathon. Because I've always loved exercise, I started training right away. And I thought all the running would help me drop those extra pounds I had gained. Boy was I wrong! I was ravenous the entire time, especially as the mileage started getting up there. I would burn 1000 calories after a 10-miler and go home and eat 2000 calories worth of breakfast! You see where this is going. By the day of the race I was in the best cardiovascular shape I'd ever been but I looked SO out of shape! I ran the whole race in 2.5 hours but was too ashamed of how I looked to buy the commemorative plaque with my picture on it :( Because by then I was up to 165.
So, I've been trying to lose the weight on my own since February with little or no luck. Then, a few weeks ago I got this coupon in the mail from LAWL and debated about whether I should bother to spend the money or if I should just keep trying on my own. Obviously on my own wasn't working, so I bit the bullet and bought the materials. I will by using Luna bars and fruit/Knudsens for the take off juice.
I just finished the 2-Day Kickoff Take Off and lost a whopping 1 ounce! LOL. I have no idea how that happened. I mean, I know how to do this. I've done it before so I'm not really a newbie. Maybe I'm just getting old!
Has this been anyone else's experience? I mean, I ate nothing but proteins and veggies (no lites because it's the Kickoff) and lost 1 OUNCE. Not 1 LB but 1 OUNCE.
Anyway, today is officially day 1 of the actual plan, so I'm hoping for a better scale reading my Saturday (1 week). Sheesh!
But I'm looking forward to being a part of this board!

Like so many of you, I had been successful on LAWL in the past. Once in undergrad (about 2004 I lost 20 lbs...started @ 237 and got to 206) and the summer before I started law school (in 2007, I started @ ~247 and got to ~203). 3 solid years of unimaginable stress (hardly any working out, drinking more than ever and eating like a teenager) skyrocketed me to the 260s by graduation and I packed on an extra 12 for good measure while I studied for the bar exam.
In 2010, I set out to lose weight to prep for swimsuit season and Carnival and got with a personal trainer who nearly killed me but in 5 months time though I was a lot stronger and healthier, my weight loss was negligible. I was discouraged and quit him, then went on to gain 10 more pounds.
I went to Carnival and declined to don a half-naked costume because (for the first time ever) I wasn't comfortable with my appearance. As soon as I returned, I did the HCG diet (which probably wasn't all that healthy, but I wanted a kickstart) and got down to 247. Been working out since then to keep it off and its working. I did the master cleanse awhile ago and decided that I will resume LAWL in order to maintain and possibly lose more. I would like very much to be ~200 by next Carnival (Feb 2012).
Did the takeoff earlier this week. This is the first day of LAWL. Look forward to connecting with you all!

I just joined the site, glad to have found you! I did LAWL successfully years ago. The weight is back and I'm ready to lose some lbs to feel and look better. I have my LAWL materials and will do it on my own - with your help of course!
I'm starting the LA Express tomorrow. I'm off to the store for Knudsen's Morning Blend and some protein and veggies.
Thanks for the great tips for substitutions!

Thanks. Where is the best place for LAWL chat? I don't see a Friends and Losers thread.
Yesterday was my fist day of Fast Start/Take Off/LA Express. Drank my Knudsen's Morning Blend, munched on celery during the day and had sauteed chicken and green beans for dinner.
Best part, I did not eat in reaction to a "discussion" with husband. yea!

Hi there everyone, I am from Indiana, lived here all my life. I work as a Pharmacy Tech. I first was on La Weight Loss back in 2006 on the colored plans. Lost around 20 or 25 pounds. Well its now been a few years and I am back basically where I was before I started LAWL. I want the weight back off. I still have my books, I was on Gold, then Green in the end. I am hopeing to work the plan again and loose the weight again.
