Morning Ladies!

Hi Sherri! Glad you found us :)

Yep I am moving back to a Fat Chick on the Beach :) It is the only plan that I have ever been able to stick to. I just got lazy and fell off the wagon.

We will all mess up every once in a while b/c we are having a lifestyle change, not a diet. So in life, we are never perfect. Don't ever feel guilty just move on and keep going! Hope your dd joins you! :)

It is awesome that you joined the challenge! WOOHOO!

I am thinking of your mom this morning. I sure wish I could come babysit for you so you could stay with her! How long before the results come back??

We all know what you mean about the trips to the grocery with all the kids... NO FUN!

Anyhow, I went to the movies last night w/ Stephanie (BTW, her puter is down :( ). We saw Constantine! It was good!

We are gonna take the kiddos to Chuck E Cheese or something today b/c dh and I are making a Casino run tonight!

I have two nights to myself! OMG ..... Is the sky falling said Henny Penny

Have a great day!

If ever there was a time to be a coffee would be now. I am so tired. But the sister's kids are on there way here and Tiana has a game this a.m. too. I just feel exhausted. And darn that hospital food. I looked at the scale this morning and its 199.

Penny-my mom will get the results back Monday or Tuesday. The doctor says it depends on how many lymph nodes they have. They don't know how many they got because they are in clusters in your body. They now have to seperate them from the fat tissue and analyze everyone they have.

Tabitha-Thank you for your prayers too. It's funny. You never think of it happening to someone you love.

Well since no one is awake yet....Good luck to the challengers tomorrow. This ought to be one heck of a contest. I love it! This time, I'm not going to slack off toward the end. I'm going to keep plugging right along even if I get discouraged...

Good morning everyone!
The sun is shining over the tundra here and it looks like it's going to be a wonderful day! My house is clean *gasp* except for the bedrooms of my dear ones. They are doing them today! I only have school uniforms to wash and I'm done! I adjusted my portions yesterday, and all that I really missed was the supper fare. Wahhhh! I have to admit I love my food it's like getting up early, you know it's good for you, but you just want a tinsy bit more. I had what I call Egg Foo Yum it's my own recipe but it can also be a SBD one if the fat is substituted. BTW- no one wanted to eat it until they tried it and said, hey this is really good! Believe me a 3 y.o. won't lie!
Egg FooYum
1-16 oz bag frozen stir-fry veggies-I used asparagus stirfry
(watchout for veggies not OP)
2 T. Oil, Butter, or ? to sautee in
1/2-1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. sea salt or seasoning salt
1 tsp. parsley flakes
eggs, 2 per adult and 1 per child, beaten

In a skillet, sautee veggies in oil, till heated through but not soggy, let them remain a little crisp. There will be some water in the skillet, that's okay. put all veggies off to one side of the skillet and add beaten eggs to the other side. Let the eggs start to firm somewhat and then blend thoroughly with vegetables. make sure all the eggs are done. Serve.
I had egg noodles as a side for the starchy people, but brown rice would have been better. Eye up portions for yourself I'm allowed 2 cups cooked I eat 2 C portion. I eat this sometimes for lunch when I want something quick and easy. Hope you all like it. It tastes better than it looks.

Chris- I am praying for your mom. I hope that they got everything. Yes, cancer is, I think the scariest medical word that we never want to hear. Courage, very much of it is curable now! We are all praying!

Penny-is there anymore word on Michelle and how she's doing? How did that dinner go for that poor family that got hit by the train? Are you starting Sun or today with SBD? Well, good luck to ya!

I have a stinky son to change so I better scoot but I'll ttyl!

02-19-2005, 11:16 AM

Another SDB memeber..Woo Hoo!! we're going to Rock. Let's get this party started...LOL. Have a great OP day. BTW, That was soo generous of you to bake the cakes to benefit the have such a big heart.

Roxy~ That actually sound very but it's probably better when you try it like you Maybe I'll give it a try anyways. Have a lovely OP day!!

Well I am off but will be back this afternoon..Have a great day everyone!!

Also, it's the last day to sign up, so if you want to join us...please do so today, so that if you have any questions we can answer them asap.

Please note also that there are only 7 weeks listed on the worksheet. I don't know if we are doing 7 or eight. We can change that if necessary as time goes on.

Ok all, back to business here. I've been on this computer for an hour now....time to clean up the house. bbl

02-19-2005, 01:25 PM
Cheri, you snuck in on me....BTW, that story is amazing!

02-19-2005, 02:18 PM
Chris- I hope your mom is in less pain today, poor thing. I'll keep your family in my prayers.

Roxy- I did give up and just work out with my husband there. It had to happen sooner or later, right?

I was starving for some reason yesterday, and the soup I was making never wanted to come to a boil so I ended up eating chips, candy, and ice cream. Dang! Fortunately, I stuck with baked Ruffles, only one serving of candy, and frozen yogurt instead of the chocolate/caramel ice cream that was calling my name :D I was afraid to touch the scale, but I'm down another half pound. Yeah, this just starting out on a diet thing is great!

I've ordered a couple of exercise DVDs now... one of them is for bellydancing of all things. I thought I'd try something fun and maybe have something my husband would enjoy once I get it all figured out. Of course, I've reminded him that I am the least coordinated person he knows so he shouldn't expect too much.

02-19-2005, 02:52 PM
Hi there,

Could someone tell me how to join your challange. Penny was telling me about it but I can't seem to find the page to go to. I know it starts tomorrow and I would like to get in on it with you all and start getting to know you.

I am a SAHM as well.

02-19-2005, 02:59 PM
Hi Girlies... :)

I forgot to give Sherri the addy for the challenge this am :)

Here it is:

Let me know if the link doesn't work :)

Sign up for the group and we'll approve ya :)

I'll check in in a bit..... We ordered food from the benefit and they are knocking on the door to deliver it :)

02-19-2005, 03:14 PM
I'm back from the vet...My little furball has a really bad bladder infection. So antibiotics for 2 weeks and then back to the vet for a urine check. She just better quit peeing all over the place.

Carl (my bil) got done with work early so he took Conner and Cole home. I kept Savanna so she could play with Tiana and Kayla for a while. Kelly will be home late from work because he has to do a dishwasher install, so after dinner I'll run up and check on my mom. See if she got any rest at all and if the pain is a little more tolerable.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow. I really want to make a better go of this challenge and not poop out like I did on the other one. My mom's doctor said these surgeries are hardest on overweight people. If I ever have to have surgery, I want to be as healthy as I can. Besides...bikini season is coming. Yah right! I never jumped in a bikini before, I'm not going to now. Shorts would be nice. Show off my white legs. :D

THe fighting continues....They all have a case of the grumpies. Insanity is an option.

02-19-2005, 05:25 PM
Where is everyone? HUMMMM?????

I'm almost ready to roll. I have my exercise all mapped out on a calender. I have a menu planned. I still want to fine tune that one. But I plan on being organized this time around. No more messing around. Me and Melissa are going to be neck and neck if it kills me...

My kids are fighting like crazy today. What do you guys all do when your days go like this? Or do your days go this way? I'm going nuts and my stress level is just going through the roof. Bout to make them all move out. ;)

Okay. Back to the challenge preps for me. Talk to ya in a bit.

02-19-2005, 05:32 PM
We are off to the casino for the night.... 2 hour drive to Mississippi!

Wish us luck to hit it big........ LOL Yeah Right, I'll be happy to break even! :)

Have a great night and tomorrow!

Jilly Bean, Hope you are having fun at the coast!

Chris, here is the article that I read that made me think of you and your mother. I read it in this week's Woman's World weekly magazine...

A "shower of hope" can help Anyone!

We've all attended wedding showers and baby showers, but when Sally Monahan fell ill with cancer, her friends showered her...with love!

When Cincinnati, Ohio mother of three Sally Monahan found herself battle uterine cancer, her friend Patty Ritter, an oncology nurse, provided advice on doctors and treatments. But as Sally, 47, struggled through months of chemotherapy, Patty wished she could do more.

Then one of Patty's own cancer patients mentioned that friends had thrown her a "chemo party" to cheer her up during her treatment.

Why not a "chemo shower" for Sally? Patty decided.

It would run like any other shower, but the theme would be a message of support.

And it began as soon as Sally arrived for her surprise "shower" and found herself surrounded by smiling friends and family.

Sally's sister, Connie Flynn, passed out translucent red hearts made of soft plastic to everyone as a reminder that: "We're all connected heart to heart with Sally."

Wiping away tears, Sally spent the next two hours opening gifts, reading inspirational messages, and sharing cake with guests.

"I'm just so moved by all the love in this room," she sniffed. "It's you who will get me through this!"

Support is good medicine

Experts agree that emotional support can play a big role in cancer treatment.

"There's evidence that those patients who enjoy strong support networks do much better in treatment," says Dr. Julia Rowland, who heads the Office of Cancer Suvivorship at the National Cancer Institute.

Today, Sally has finished her treatmetns and is hopeful about her future.

"Thanks to Patty, I always think positive because I know I'm connected," she smiles, slipping a translucent red heart from her pocket. "Too many others are pulling for me to let them down!"
--Steve Baal

Chris, no matter what the test results are, and I am sure I'm in agreement with everyone when I say that I pray that everything turns out the way you hope, I hope this article helps.

Thanks Tabitha...
I've printed it out so I can save it. I'm going to the hospital to see her after dinner tonight. My sister works at the hospital in patient records so she's been going up on her breaks to see how she's doing. Jennifer (my sis) says mom appears to be enjoying her morphine drip. She just hits the little button when she needs it and then she's all smiles I guess. The doctor is giving her an extra day. They wanted her up on her feet today but since she had such a hard time yesterday, she gets a reprive until tomorrow. Looks like she'll be in until Tuesday. My sister (aka Jen/"martha stewart") and I are going to make dinners for her and my brother so she doesn't have to worry about him cooking when she gets home.

Thanks again. I think I'm going to kick back and read a book for a little bit. When the challenge starts tomorrow...I won't get to read unless I'm in the tub soaking. :D

OH, I forgot. I had a duh moment at momslosingwegiht today. I went, looking for the challenges again. And couldn't find them. My h wondered why I was yelling, "What is wrong with me? Am I stupid? Blind?" at the computer monitor. Then I found the little link off to the side. Boy did I feel like a big doofus then! LOL, oh well. At least I found them and all is well. Thanks, the answers message really did answer my questions.

02-20-2005, 09:58 AM
I just wanted to say ........Challengers..........please be sure to read ALL the Messages and posts...there have been corrections, additions and clarification to items.

02-20-2005, 03:43 PM
Hey ladies I'm back from the coast, or should I say dunes! It was a blast and I wanted to share a pic of me and my new hobby......riding 4-wheelers! It was so fun, that's me with my new helmet with blue flames on it. I think it's pretty sweet! Anyway I'll get back and tell more once I get this tornado of a house picked up. I have lots to tell and lots of comments for all you ladies. Hope you all had a great weekend! Oh and I'm also posting a pic of Bayley and her friend Hunter in the wagon my dh made. Not a good shot of the wagon but a cute one of the babies. Hope all you challengers are doing good today!! ok that's it for now!

Oh actually lol Hi to all the newbies!! I'm Jill SAHM of Bayley who is 17 months. I can't wait to get to know you!!

02-20-2005, 03:48 PM
Oh and here is something I received as an e-mail and thought it was so funny! The first picture is a publice toilet in Texas, there's a lady going into it. As you can see it's reflective. Now the second picture is what it looks like when you are in the restroom! It's got one-way glass! Would you use this toilet? I'm not sure I would, I think I would feel weird!

02-20-2005, 05:13 PM
Nice pictures! Cute little ones.

I am afraid that I would have a problem with the one way glass. I would, psychologically, have a hard time believing that no one could see in, especially at night. Oh well.

02-20-2005, 06:04 PM
Hi Ladies...

I'm home from the casino... church and my nap from staying up all

Gonna get some groceries from town and i'll check in later on!

02-20-2005, 07:03 PM
Hello ladies. Today I have been lounging and not doing much of anything besides cleaning. Yesterday when I got on the scale it said I weighed 158. This morning it said 162 and this afternoon it said 164! So, I don't know what to think. I guess when I take my picture for the challenge another number will come up, who knows.. Oh well. I am really looking forward to this challenge and getting even closer to my goal.

Jill~ Those are great pictures of you and Bailey!! I can't wait to hear all about your weekend. Are you ready for the challenge??

Penny~ You're doing the SBD too!! YAY!! When are you officially starting the SBD? Did you have a good time last night??

Mel~ Thanks for all your help today, it was greatly appreciated. How's your day?

Well I better go check the other site now..I'll BBL.

02-20-2005, 07:08 PM
Hey all. Hope everyone is having a great day. We are expecting snow tonight up to 7 inches. Not terrible, but it will probably hinder my going to the gym tomorrow.

Jill, great pics! OH an BTW, I don't think I could use that bathroom either...ewwww.

I'm letting my dinner settle and then I'd better get in some exercise. Can't let the first day of the challenge go by without something....

02-20-2005, 09:30 PM
Hello ladies!!!

I am still trying to recover from this past week! My legs and hips hurt so bad today and I know it's from all I did this week.

Mel: I sent my paypal. You should have it.

My pics are posted. I didn't log my food today but mentally I can add up that I'm still under my limit.

The banquet went great. Lots of compliments. Now if only more would jump to volunteer to help.......

Jill: Great pics! I had seen that email too. I couldn't use it unless I was about to bust  .

Penny: Hope you hit it BIG last night. I get to go Saturday which will be 2 days shy of 2 years since I've been. It's not that it's that far away, I jsut never get out of this town much . But my sil is having a Pampered Chef party Saturday and mom and I are going after that cause it's about 10 minutes from sil's house to the casino....woohoo!

Well, I'm going to pogo for a while then to bed very soon. I'm still exhausted and have to get the excercise in tomorrow. Unless I can count walking the grocery store for an hour with 4 kids in tow........
