Good Morning! Crankin us up this morning! I sure do miss Mamacita! I'll be back in a bit.

02-11-2005, 08:28 AM
Holy! Only one post, and it's Bamie, to boot! :lol3:

Good morning, Bamie!
I'm taking my mom (the real one) out for breakfast and then to a second hand bookstore. Hope everyone has a good day... hopefully will be back later. Hugs for all of you... :grouphug:

Morning Bamie, and all the rest of you, too!
Nothing has been going on around here, I've been lazy and have a case of the winter blahs. It's not helping that my weight has stalled, but at least I haven't gained anything! I'll have my little ones all day today, and I'm taking them to the Mall for something to do. There's an indoor playground there, so they can run around and burm off some of their energy. It's just been too muddy to let them play outside and we're bored to death of being stuck indoors. Supper tonight is going to be a Shrimp Stir-Fry. I made chili last night, and it was awful. I was in a hurry and hungry, so I just threw it together for something fast. Jake ate it without complaining, so maybe it was just me? Well, I'd better get ready to go get the girls. See you all later!

02-11-2005, 08:43 AM
Morning Ellis, have a nice breakfast with your Mom!

02-11-2005, 09:06 AM
Back for a quick check in. I have to finish laundry today I didn't get very far yesterday. The color I was goin to paint the kitchen may change since i don't have as much paint as I thought I did. I had bought this paint when we bought this house but then changed my mind for where I was gonna use and used it in my hallway instead and thought I had 2 gallons left but there is only one. Soooooo I may go with a light yellow to really brighten things up in there. But not real sure because the countertops are a black marble look. Why someone would put dark countertops in a small kitchen...I'm not real sure but they did. I think I have talked DH into building me a window seat in the breakfast nook where the bay window is. Well I am off to get busy. I have to pack for my trip as well. UGH! I'll check on y'all chicks and roosters later. Play nice today! lol

Ellis...I hope you and your Mom have a good time. Don't buy out the store! lol
Cottage... Have a good time at the mall! lol

02-11-2005, 09:13 AM
Good morning!

It's a gorgeous sunny morning here and the world is all blue and white and sparkling! No winter blahs here. The Girls love fresh snowe and are a delight to watch as they cavort in it. (Cavort? I don't think I've ever used that word before!) Cottage, come to whe window and take a peek! Enjoy the playtime at the Mall. Hmmm - I have some shrimp. Thanks for the dinner idea.

Bamie, thanks for starting us up. I may have missed something but who are your trainees? Are you giving elocution lessons or sumthin? (Sorry! Couldn't resist that crack.) Black countertops? What were they thinking?

Ellis, have a good morning with your real Mum. Is she still OK? And how's the kitchen today? I haven't caught a mouse in mine for a week now. Are yours all gone?

Today I plan to move the rest of the woodpile from beside the deck to onto the deck. We will be getting another two cords and I want the old wood segregated from the new wood. Watch, now that I have more wood coming, we will have an early spring and I'll be hauling it from beside the deck into the barn and *****ing all the time!

This afternoon I have to go to the bank and get the accounts switched over to new signing authorities for the Cemetery Board. Doesn't that sound exciting? I also have to walk Miss Lucy down to our bank here in town to have her apologize to Connie the Head Teller because the PITA doggie chewed up another $20 bill! (I must learn not to leave my jacket over a chair.)

What's happening chez toi today?

Hello All-

My paper got done yesterday (via caffeine) and the presentation went once again my procrastinating ways have been reinforced!! I'm sure I will be in the same boat next week..... I am in a PhD program and have gone back after working for several years.....I definetely would have perserved my brain cells better if I had known I were to take this path! I have to plan my procrastinating to allow for the age delay!!

Bamie- I love painting walls yellow....I had a tiny 2 room apartment in NYC and painted all of the walls a light yellow, it really helped brighten it up and make it appear roomier.

I hope everyone had a great day!

02-11-2005, 09:26 AM
Ruth.. I am a Home Interiors and Gifts consultant and I had 6 new recruits this week. They will place their first order on Monday so I have to go and show them how to do it all online. Fun Fun! lol Your on a roll this morning crackin jokes usin new words! Must be Frisky Friday for Ruth! lol

02-11-2005, 09:36 AM
Morning all;
Ellis - Have a nice time with your mom. I love going to the book stores.
Bamie - I just painted my small kitchen a light yellow with a muted sage green trim. You can go to and put in color selections and get different ideas. We weren't sure what to paint the ceiling, so did that and we went with a very light purple. It turned out nice. I have been thinking of my living room next, since when this loan stuff is over I am getting a huge bay. It will be 82" wide by 58" long. Have to repaint to go with that. LOL.
Cottage - Have fun at the mall. My girls are going nuts also. It's going to be cold today, so have to find something new and fun to do. DS got a big remote control car for his b-day yesterday, so the oldest can go with him up to the emtpy parking lot to run it today. He turned 24 and has been having fun with this car. We didn't know what to get him.
Me - Been doing good OP. Have lost 3 of the 7 I had gained off program. Not much new here today either. I too have to get some laundry done. Girls fell asleep, so now I can get somethings done, but, have to be quiet. Will check back in later at nap time.

02-11-2005, 09:39 AM
Must be Frisky Friday for Ruth! lol

I wish! :(

Thanks for the explanation, Bamie. I remember your mentionming it before but must have had a brain fart!

Toni, I'm glad you got the paper done. Yes, our ability to come through after procrastinating becomes more difficult with age. What PhD are you going for?

02-11-2005, 09:56 AM
Good Morning all :coffee: This is gonna be short - got work to do this morning. Hope everyone has a great day.

Oh BTW Bamie, we really should tell these Northerners that THEY are the ones with the accents. Just cause we don't enunciate our words properly all the time and leave some letters out when we spell don't mean we caint. :lol3:  Maybe we should send them a Southern Dictionary over yonder:lol3:  Whatcha think

Hope everyone has a great day on the beach. I'll check back in later

:grouphug: :dancer:

Yeah We don't talk funny they listen funny! ROTFL!

02-11-2005, 10:36 AM
hello all,
i think i did pretty well yesterday! yay! let me know what you think-
breakfast-ok this was a no, no, but I had some Life cereal. I did not feel good and wasn't going to eat at all, but then i took my BC pill and if i do not eat w/that, I get nauseated and i ran out of time.
lunch-chicken breast salad (chicken breast, lettuce, portobella mushrooms, ranch dressing - small amount)
snack-half a carb options bar - question- are those allowed? it says 2 g net carbs but on the back it has 27 g carb and most are from "sugar alcohol." It wasn't that good anyway, which is why i only ate half of it.
dinner-chicken salad again (not planned, just turned out that way) with bleu cheese drsg. this one had tomatoes and a small amount of carrots on it as well. FI had chick-fil-a sandwhiches and waffle fries (mmmmmm)
snack-oatmeal (real, not instant) with cinnamon

come on, whatdaya think? I know it is not perfect but it is better than i was the last two days!

Good morning all,

Just wanted to report a case of the winter blahs in this corner. :blah: Can I share your beach blanket? How much longer 'til spring?

Like several others, I seem to be stuck at this weight. I think I might try a spell of SBD w/counting calories and see if that will break me free! (after Valentines Day, that is :o )

Does anyone else hate that e-diets ad on the right side of the page, "drop a jeans size..." with the woman pointing her derriere right at us. :( It really annoys me.

The teenage boy next door is blasting his music and his parents haven't even finished pulling out of the driveway yet. I hope this isn't an indication of the weekend to come.

A hearty Welcome to our new Roosters, and Hello to the rest of the Chicks yet to peck in.

02-11-2005, 10:49 AM
a broad abroad- I HATE THOSE ADS TOO! they are so annoying. I hate those, and those "get a date" ads in Hotmail.

02-11-2005, 11:08 AM
Well, Chickies, those ads pay for this free site! However, you can go ad-free for a small fee. See

JennPGH, what Phase are you on? I see some no-no's for Phase I, including the carb options bar. See the post on Atkins bars.

Broad, I'm stuck too at 199 and have resorted to counting calories with fitday. :(

02-11-2005, 11:27 AM
u r right, we should not complain if it is free!

I am on Phase II.

02-11-2005, 11:56 AM
Hi Ladies.. I am /must be a sugar/carb addict.... I had a mini choco bar yesterday and a Fiber One choco square. After that it took all my willpower to not eat a loaf of bread and Pasta. I told DP I wanted to eat the dashboard. Anyway, got home and made lean steak stir fry (no sauce) and made dp rice. I had a fat free pudding with some peanuts (10) for dessert. :) I had boiled cabbage (my new comfort food w/ Soybean oil butter flavored spray) for snack at 430p. I was still Hungry.... No more choco unless it's pudding or something. Help!! Doesn't help that my SB buddy at work is not here--she's in Vegas!

a broad and Jenn--I open my internet in my Outlook so I don't have to look at Ads. BC I can't stand them either.. Like I want to see some Chic's butt. If it was Vin Diesel that would be another story.

Its Friday and I cannot wait to sleep in. (yeah right) :eating2: Going out to dinner with the Girls!

02-11-2005, 02:17 PM
Morning, all! I'm late getting in here, so I know I'll have to keep my posts short! ;)

Bamie, good for you starting us up, but do you ever sleep, girl? :coffee: Light yellow would be great and a good way to brighten up what is darkened by the counters. I am drooling and sooo jealous at your window seat! That is something I would LOVE to have!

Ellis, I think going to a second-hand bookstore counts as a workout for you. ;) Wish I could go with. I hope mom is in a good mood and sweet to you! :grouphug:

Cottage, I hope today is a better day for you! We are cold her, but at least the sun is shining and the sky is all blue! :sunny: I hope your weather is similar and you get some good feelings back! :grouphug:

Ruth, I love that you're making Lucy apologize. I guess "the dog ate it" is an appropriate excuse for not having enough money in your house. What a workout all that wood lifting will be, but sounds like you have a gorgeous day to do it!

Toni, good for you! :bravo: I feel your pain...I'm doing my masters after seven years away from school and my brain is too old and tired for this! Glad everything worked out! What is your PhD in?

Chipper, good going on those pounds! :D

Rayneysmom, you are too cute! I'm reading a book about a school that worked on changing their spelling program. The kids worked on these "have-a-go" sheets where they had to write words they misspelled and then try writing them other ways to find one that looks more correct. The school is in Maine, and you would never believe the way the kids spelled their "ovuh" for over, etc. I think it would be fun to see how Southern kids spell when they are little... :chin:

Jenn, are you on phase 1? If so, you really do have to be "perfect"...which means no life cereal and no carrots, more veggies, and plan your days so you don't get caught! :D Also, the bars are a bad idea. Stay away from them. Instead, look for unprocessed things like veggies, lean meat, eggs, nuts, beans, fruit, dairy. Okay? :D That will make you feel so much better in the long run! I know you can do it...just keep at it, girl!

A Broad: Sorry about those winter blahs! I know the feeling! I wonder if those last pounds are just really stubborn because you are so close to goal. You might want to PM SweetTooth, because I remember her going through something similar near the end. Is it possible that you are already at goal? It's worth thinking about. :chin:

Hunny, think about what you said! You ate chocolate and THEN you wanted to eat the dashboard! Your blood sugar level dropped after you ate the chocolate (just like Dr. A describes in the book) and that made you crave simple carbs like the loaf of bread (not sure about the carb content of the dashboard  ). You need to go at least 3 days (sometimes five) without any sugar (which is what Phase 1 does for you) to get these cravings out of there. If you find chocolate triggers it, don't eat chocolate. I know you don't want to live like get that sugar out of your system and keep it out!!! I've found that malitol, even though it's a sugar alcohol, somehow produces those cravings in me (immediately! :o ), so I just avoid it, period. :grouphug:

Well, better head to lunch...not sure what I'm going to have. Either leftover mushroom and wild rice soup and a tomato-basil burger with a side of veggies, or a taco salad made with veggie taco meat. Either way, yumm! :T

Still under 220, which is great. We'll see what the weekend brings. I didn't get to the gym this morning. I was so tired, and I went to bed by 11 again. Oy. :P I'm definitely going monday...don't want to let Amber down or go back on a pinky swear...who knows what could happen! ;)

Have a great weekend, chickies (and roosters?)! Hope you celebrate V-day with lots of non-caloric treats. (some might even count as exercise! )

02-11-2005, 04:31 PM
Quick swim by today....

I am swamped this morning!

It's chilly and rainy here today. How come the weather here seems to be the opposite of all you Canadian chickies? It's supposed to rain all weekend.

We're going to the cabinet place tomorrow morning then it's a drive south for the So. Cal Vikings Club Dinner where I'll be dining with current and past Vikings. I already ordered my meal which is a lemon chicken and veggies. I should be able to stay OP for the most part!

Bamie-I recently painted my diningroom light yellow and love it! It definitely brightens things up!

I'll try to check back in later. I'm off to have some lunch! :)

02-11-2005, 04:45 PM
Well... I painted a lil bit of a wall the marble green and a lil bit the platnium blonde. I have to say so far I'm leanin for the green. It really makes it pop in there where the yellow looks lost. I will ask DH what he thinks when he calls me at my mom's tonight. Although I already know his answer! lol The yellow is what I used in my guest room and it looks good in there because only the trim is white but in the kitchen I think it is just blendin in because the cabinets are white. Maybe I will try to figure out how to post a pic and when I get back I'll have a chick poll! lol Well I will chat with y'all chicks later.

Laurie... Here lately I feel like I never sleep! I almost started us up at 2 when I woke up the first time.

02-11-2005, 05:21 PM
I'm in the office today and it has been nonstop. I found 10 minutes to heat up my leftovers and then ate while on the phone. Took 2 hours to finish lunch. I'm better today but Brian is sicker. He started the day with 102.9 but it's a little lower now. I've called twice so far and he seems to be doing okay. He's not eating hardly anything but at least he is drinking and that is the most important thing.

I have been eating a normal amount but the pounds are dropping off too fast. I'm down 8 pounds this month (5 1/2 since Monday) but I imagine it will stop soon. Probably as soon as I am well enough to start exercising again.

Tomorrow I'm going out to pick up Scouting for Food bags. Brian won't be able to make it and I really need to help my den leader. She's been sick with pneumonia this week and probably shouldn't be out there. Hopefully enough boys will show up that it won't be too bad. We have 315 houses for our den of 10 boys to pick up from (and knock on doors if they didn't leave a bag out). Should only take a couple of hours. I wonder what the weather is supposed to be like at 9:30 in the morning?

Good Afternoon Ladies:)

Glad that I found the 3fc web site,as I not new to the SB but need lots of support and I hope to give back of what I recieved. Happy its the weekend, and I can tamper myself, by relaxing and not doing house work.

Saw some of your post and I can relate to being on Phase 2,when cravings start. Not for the sweets but for the salty snacks. My doctor told me that the salt cravings come from the lack of carbs.I try to stay on Phase 2 with the minumum amount of carbs[veggies, fruit, & milk products]and than once in a while go to the whole grain bread prods. So far I'm holding my own,but as soon as I go up I'm back to a STRICT Phase 1 .

Have a nice evening Ladies Hugs :) BB

Evenin' Chickies~~

Bamie, it's nice to be missed. :grouphug: I feel much better today. Actually got a full night's sleep last night.

A rather creepy thing...there was a body dumped on a street very close to the nursing home while I was there this morning. Icky... (do we have a creepy shiver emoticon?)

That's about the only thing exciting today. Ho-hum...

I'll pop in tomorrow morning. Hope you all have a good night. Going to go fry up some eggs and turkey bacon.
