I am so mad at my parents. They sold their house, but now are looking right around the corner from the old one! They are 81 years old, and my dad won't look at condos. They really need to be closer to me, but they can't find a house cheap enough near me. I am so frustrated about it. There are plenty of nice 0 lot line condos nearer to me, but he doesn't want to pay the monthly fees.

Shelley, how far do your parents live from you, and was the selling of their house a surprise?

Shelley the good news is that they haven't bought a house yet. Do you think that you and yur sibblings can convince them to move closer to you? I am counting on you to hold up the exercise board and to encourage everyone to join you.

Gayle where are you today? Did you want to come out and say good bye to me? In order to keep everyone in line here you need to post. Get motivated and shake off some off those pounds. You can do it.

Sherry how are you feeling? I bet you are doing great counting points. I am coming back here to read your posts to see how you are doing. Take care.

Janice can you make sure it is spring here when I get back. It is below freezing today but I am still going to run away.

Cheryl keep on exercising, I know that you won't let me down.

Ok I know that I am forgetting to many of you. I am brain dead and to excited to post to everyone. Still have to put a few things in my suitcase so I better run. I leave tomorrow at 6:00 am so that means I need to be at airport by 4:00. Probably the only one that will be up is Shelley my early bird. I will checking in with you so please give me something to read. I love to see how you are all doing. I will be back March 13th. Let see how many pounds we can lose til then. You all have a month to do it. If we all lost 1 pound that would be about 10 pounds total if there is 10 of us. How about 3 pounds each. Wow, that would make a whopping 30 pounds. Hey how about it? See what you can do while I am away.

Love you all and will miss you.

Debbie are you still going to the Y? Go over and post with Shelley and Cheryl. Keep them company while I am gone.

Dee- I hope you have a wonderful time in PV. I was going to run today, since I can't tomorrow, but Mike decided to cut up a tree that had been sitting in our yard blown over from Hurricane Charley. I've been waiting 6 months for this, so I helped him out instead of running. We still will have to burn up the wood and brush from it. We'll probably do a bonfire tomorrow or Sunday night.

Cheryl-My parents have been thinking about selling for quite sometime, but only recently put the house on the market. The canal that they live on is direct access to the river, so it sold quite quickly and they made quite a bit of money on it.

Dee- Cute card. Yes, I am up early. I was debating on whether to run or not this morning in the dark, but I really don't like to, so I guess I'll take my shower and make some baked oatmeal and do a bit of housework. I hope you have the best vacation ever. Please rest up.

Slow here this weekend...

Sorry I didn't give you a send off Dee! We ended up getting a touch of something, so I wasn't feeling well. Allison has the stuff today, hopefully she will be better for school Monday. Enjoy the sun! As your "baking", think of me "freezing"!!! Hopefully, this is just what you need to get yourself back on the road to a complete recovery.

I received this yesterday in my email, posting it here, so we can all say prayers for Carol.

I just wanted to let you all know that I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. I have been in and out of the hospital the last week or so. What should have been a simple laparoscopic gallbladder removal turned into a mess. The Dr. nicked one of the duct walls and did not realize it so bile started getting into by blood stream. After being home a couple of day, I realized something was not right and when back to emergency. Apparently because I was quick enough to go back to the hospital they have been able to fix the leak quickly to avoid more damage to my system. I was just released from the hospital late yesterday afternoon. I am still pretty weak and sore, but hopefully on the way to recovery this time.

Hope you are all doing well and only happy things are happening in your lives.

Love & Hugs to all.

Carol

Hi Girls:wave:

Hope everyone is having a restful weekend. We ran errands yesterday and I kept 2 of the grand babies last night for Bryan and Cherie to attend a wedding. Today we had Mom's 72nd birthday party at her house. Busy, busy weekend as usual.

Gayle...Sorry you have been under the weather. Hope Allison is better by tomorrow, bless her heart has been sick a lot lately.

Dee.....Hope you are having a wonderful trip. Soap up enough sun for all of us.

Sherry..... How are you feeling? Haven't heard from you this weekend, guess you are busy as me. Have you heard from Chris? Do you and Wayne have something special plans for your anniversary tomorrow?

Carol....Hope you are on the way to a full recovery. We love you, take care and post when you can. HUGS!!

Shelley....Hope you are doing OK. Where will your parents live now? Hope they decide to move close to you.

I have finally decided to go thorough with my foot surgery. :( I have put it off for so long and every step I take is with pain. I'm having it done this Thursday at 10.00. James is taking the day off to take me. I will be off my feet for at least 48 hours and in shoes with the big toes cut out for 6 weeks. We are out of school Monday, so that will give me 5 days to get to feeling better.

Ramona, Tina, Cheryl, and Janice...Hope you are doing Ok!!

Love to everyone....deb

Shelley,
About your Parents: Did they think really hard about selling and moving or did their age play apart of it? I mean a lot of times people their age makes decisions that they really don't think through well. Are you feeling better about it? I know you're worried!

Guess what??? I found a good treat to have and been living it up!! Those little candy hearts (the ones with the conversations on 'em) have 1 point for 14 of them!! Wow!!!! :D

I'm curious about a steamer advertised to clean hard surfaces. If I remember correctly, someone here on the board purchased one a year or so ago. Can you tell me about it? Are you happy with it? The one I'm looking at will run for about 1 hour and you just fill it with water.

Gayle-That would be me. I don't know which steamer you are talking about getting, but mine is portable and last no where near an hour. I really do like it, but haven't used it in awhile. I guess the newness wore off for me. It really didn't do the rust as well as I had expected. My whole reason for getting it was for the bathroom tile walls and rust. I guess now it's just more trouble than it's worth for me.

Good Morning Friends,
I have been very good about staying on program lately. One more pound and I'll be back to where I left off before I got out of control. I found some new bars at Costco, maybe not new to you folks but new to me. All Bran Bars - they are really tasty. I am still using the old WW program so on that points counter they are 2 pts per bar, on the new points counter they are 3 pts. They are filling and full of fiber. Doug went to the heart specialist yesterday. Everything seems to be okay. He was asked if he would join in a study of a new drug. He decided to do it. It's a two year study and nobody will know until the end who was on the real drug and who was on the placebo. The good part is that he will see the specialist every month, he will get all kinds of tests done to detect changes to his liver, heart, and other parts of his body. It will be wonderful to be followed that closely by the heart specialist rather than once a year. There is no cost to the participants. We had freezing rain yesterday, so everything was a sheet of ice. Today is nice and about freezing. Oh Lucky DEE!! To be somewhere warm and lucky Shelley to be somewhere that is always warm.
Take care to all.

Hi Girls:wave:

I hope everyone had a nice Valentine's Evening. I got a very nice surprise last night. James took me out to dinner.
He handed me a small card with a little pink heart on it. It was blank inside and he had written " Why should I worry about my heart, when it belongs to you" Needless to say...I cried!!! Then he handed me a small jewerly box, I was shaking by now. Inside was a beautiful gold necklace with a diamond heart. It was one of the most precious that I have ever received.

Hugs...deb

Debbie-That is so wonderful. I can see why you cried. I'm glad you had a nice anniversary.

Janice-I was about to ask you why you are eating the bars if you think that they taste nasty, then I read it again and you had said tasty! I sometimes read things way too quick. I'm glad you are doing well on WW.

Girls I need some prayers sent this way. My DH's best friend is in the hospital and is in need of a liver transplant. Tomorrow he has his gall bladder removed, but he is an absolute mess. They are saying Hepatitis C. He is 47 years old.

The weather here was in the high 70's today and gorgeous. I'm sorry if some of you are having such bad weather! Come down for a visit anytime!

BTW...Yesterday was Sherry's anniversary.

I hope you had a special anniversary Wayne & Sher! Did you get the ecard? I will be thinking of you tonight at weigh-in Sherry, good luck!

Shelley, prayers go out to Mikes friend. I know this man has made it rough on you, hopefully he will have the transplant and recover the best he can. This could very well be a life changing experience for him.

Deb, do you think we could clone James??? I bet we could make a fortune! He was very thoughtful and sweet, you can tell he loves you dearly. Wishing the two of you many more blessed years together.

I stayed home alone without my sweetie for Valentines. He is out of town until Friday. Allison was sick all evening with a fever and had an earache most of the night. I kept her home from school today, she slept until 10:30 this morning! She seems to be feeling better, I'm still dosing her with the cough medication and Tylenol. If she is doing ok, I will probably send her tomorrow to school. Her teacher said out of 22 kids, she has not had over 14 in the classroom since Christmas. I guess the "gunk" is really going around.
I am trying to stay OP, but then I feel sorry for myself and eat a Valentine candy. I agree with Shelley, I could wipe out an entire package of those little "pure sugar" conversation hearts!

Janice, I'm glad your sticking it out here on the board with all of us! It seems slow at times, but over the course of the past few years, we have so many fighting personal or family illnesses, problems etc. I'm happy to hear your hubby was accepted for the study. I'm sure this will give you two peace of mind to know he will be consistantly monitored by a doctor.

YEAH CHERYL! You get to go see hubby for 3 whole weeks! Make sure you get some work done! LOL!

Hello

I lost only 1.2 lbs but I'll take it! Better then gaining huh? Tonights weight was 207.8.

Debbie....That was very sweet of James! Lucky Girl! I didn't get anything but that's what Wayne & I decided on. We're going out to eat this weekend to celebrate Valentine's Day & Anniversary.

Gayle....I hope Allison is doing better. Bless her heart! I hope her fever doesn't go up tonight. Give her a big hug! :grouphug: Thanks for our card! How sweet!!!! Thanks again!

Shelley....I will be saying a prayer for your hubby's friend. That is so sad & so young. I hope everything goes ok. BTW: I get so confused on the popcorn points. I only buy the 94% FF. Is it 4 points for the whole bag? I forgot to ask in the meeting tonight.

Janice...What is the name of the bars? I would like to try them!!!

Dee....I miss you girl!!!!!!!!

Ramona.....Are you ok????? I sure do miss you!!!

Carol.....How do you feel?????? PLEASE post soon and let me know how you are! I'm getting worried about you! Your mailbox is FULL!!

Cheryl....I know you're looking forward to spending time with hubby!! If you don't post much...WE'LL KNOW WHY!!! :o

GREAT JOB SHERRY! YIPPPEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

Steve & I went out to eat this weekend to celebrate Valentines. We do the dinner thing too for our anniversary. It gets too expensive buying gifts for every occasion.
Allison is better tonight. I debated about school tomorrow, I think I will keep her home an extra day. Her appetite is still very poor, to the point she has not touched one bit of Valetine candy from home or school.

ShelleyM
02-16-2005, 07:04 AM
WTG, Sherry! Sorry about the confusion on the anniversary. Happy belated to you and Wayne! That point value is for the entire bag. I eat air popped corn, and the point value is practically nothing.

Gayle-The man in the hospital is not the one that I can't stand. This is Mike's best friend from high school and beyond. If I hadn't married Mike, I would probably with him. He is a wonderful and caring person. I only wish it were the other one (isn't that a horrible thing to say??)

I have decided to up my weight loss goal back to 127. I just can't seem to get below 128 no matter how hard I try. Do you think I'm being horrible by doing that? I just can't face the scale when it is up. I was worried all night when I stepped on the scale this morning. I was back down to 128. I figure if I can get to 127 and meander there that I should be satisfied with that.

gdeann

Shelley, so sorry for the confusion, I thought it was the guy that likes to bug you. :-) This changes things a bit, I will be sending extra prayers your direction. I hope this friend goes through the gallbladder surgery ok and they can find a liver for him soon. Keep us updated on his condition. Does he live in the same town as you guys??

I like how you changed your ticker. Honestly, no one will ever notice a few extra pounds. I'm afraid you will continue to set your goal so low that when you get on the scale you are going to tell yourself negative stuff. I'm sure your body is trying to tell you it is at a comfortable place right now. Who knows, maybe in a month or so, you may drop that extra ppound or two. They say our body needs to catchup and rest at certain times through our weight loss. What did the doctor say about your weight? Did he feel it is a healthy weight for you?

Hello Everyone!
Sherry - Congratulations on your weigh-in, you're headed in the right direction.

Shelley - I will pray for Mikes friend, if we all pray wonderful things can happen.

Gayle - Hope Allison is feeling better today, it is so terrible when our kids are sick. Amanda is 24 and when she's sick I still worry.

Dee- Bet you're having a Ball http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/28/28_1_14.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZB) http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/28/28_1_16.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZB)

Debbie - You are one lucky gal with a husband like James. Doug is not the sentimental type at all. Amanda gave me a dozen roses though, 6 red and 6 yellow.

Romona - where are you? You haven't posted for a while.

I know everyone has a busy life and its not always easy to find time to post.
Sherry - The bars are Kelloggs All-Bran Bars they come in original and Honey Nut Flavours - I like them both.
Have a Good Day Everyone

Gayle-You always say the things that make me feel so much better about myself. Thank you. The dr. never says anything about my weight. He never did when I gained 60 lbs back when I was pregnant either. I notice today is weigh in day for you. How did you do? I can't remember what your ticker said before.

Hey, I haven't seen it yet, but a girl from Ft Myers is on American Idol. I think they call her Baby V. She was on last night and is on again tonight. I am going to try to stay awake to watch it.

Well, the inspector found nothing wrong with my parent's house. In my mom's own words "they didn't find a damn thing wrong with it." I think they were hoping that they would. Now we need to really start looking.

Gayle,
What a beautiful poem!!! It made me cry! We never know what goes through the minds of the elderly. I don't know how anyone could mistreat an elderly person. Just because they can't talk or feed theirselfs doesn't mean that they can't think or hear. Thank you for sharing it.

Debbie went through her toe nails surgery fine. Tonight I talked with James. He said around 5:00 she got to hurting (the meds had worn off). He gave her a pain pill and she was asleep. So say a prayer that she'll be good as new soon.

Hey Dee...Are you reading our posts?????? We miss you!!!!!!!! Are you too busy soaking up the sun?

Has ANYONE heard from Ramona? I'm really starting to worry!

Carol.....How are you? PLEASE post soon!!!!

Where is everyone else? Post soon!! I miss you all!!!

Gayle-I am still feeling yucky. I didn't run yesterday, and today after my appts., I am going out to help search for homes with my parents. I only wish we could build something attached to our home that they could live in. Wouldn't that be nice? Then I wouldn't have to worry about them.
