I am interested in trying to low carb diet. I have no idea what it is about though. What should an average daily carb intake be? What foods does it involve? I don't mean to sound dumb, but this is blowing my mind. Can someone please give me an overview of the low carb lifestyle? What all is involved? What foods are no-nos? What are sure winners? ect...... I really appreciate any and all advise. Thanks!!!!!!

It is really more complicated than giving an "overview". ;)
Out of all the low carb diet plans...I recommend Atkins the LEAST. I would personally recommend South Beach if you are going to follow a lower carb diet-because it doesn't eliminate all sources of carbs-only "junky" ones-allowing you more healthier carbs such as veggies, fruits, and whole grains.
What you really need to do is to go out and get a copy of the book, and read it cover to cover. (This goes for any plan that you want to follow.)
There are two sections of the forum here at 3FC-a low carb section, and a South Beach section (Fat Chicks On The Beach) and you will find great support there when you decide which plan is for you.

Oh i been on atkins since July 5th and i have reached goal and loss 40 lbs. its a great plan for me. i am on it for life now. go to www.atkins.com and it explains it all. the book is cheap. librarys have it to. also the sb plan is good. almost similar. so just watching carbs is great. good luck to you. this is just my opinion now. what helps one may not help another.
