Good morning, Chicks~~ :coffee:

I'm a grumpy chick this morning. Yesterday was the inservice for the nursing home I'll be doing draws for starting next week. To put it bluntly, I was lied to by my boss and the little weasel wasn't even man enough to show face. He blew off the meeting. Turns out it won't be a 2 day a week's a 5 day a week and sometimes 6. Basically, I'm going to be working a job and a half. My day will start around 4:30 am and not ending until 5:00 pm. I'm so stressed out at the thought of it, I couldn't sleep last night and my stomach is in knots.

At least I have until the 10th to plot my of which is to get over to the boss's office and demand a raise...

Not much else going on this morning...what's new in your world?

02-02-2005, 07:42 AM
Mama... If it ain't your BIL it's your stinkin boss! Looks like us chickies are gonna have to load up and head to Ga. to kick some peach fuzz butt! UGH! The nerve of that man! Don't stress over it just do the best you can and if it does not work out then stop doin the extra. I'll be in Atlanta this w-end if you need me to come help you straighten him out. I'll have some free time while DH is learning how to run the AYSO for our

Me not much happenin. It's Raining right now. I'm up way before my time and I hate it. I couldn't sleep. I decided to clean house all day yesterday and take Mom to get her glasses today. I hope it stops raining I rolled her hair for her lastnight. lol I've not seen my Mom in curlers since I was a kid! I am so tired of sheetrock dust and it has only just begun! lol

Well I hope you all have a great OP day! I'll check in later.

02-02-2005, 07:45 AM
Oh, Mamacita, that is terrible. Little bugger! You definitely deserve a huge raise and he'd better give it to you. Tell him I'll have his balls for bookends!

I'm a bit slow this morning. I was home from my Blooms meeting by 8:30, had a glass of red to celebrate not being chair of the committee and fell asleep with The Girls on the couch until 12! I'm feeling just a bit stiff and rickety but the drugs are working and a coffee will make it all better.

This morning Lucy goes to Holly for "fur styling" and Hershey and I carry on to the vet office so she can have her stitches removed. It should be no problem as the incision looks good. Now my #1 baby is officially retired and can enjoy the rest of her life. We'll both be glad when this knee lets me take her for long walks as she's going a bit stir-crazy.

I've been a bit draggy the past week but today is the day I'm getting my zip back. It's also Groundhog Day. I wonder if he'll see his shadow. Spring's always six weeks from now or later anyhow. However, I may hang my pussywillow wreath on the side door just for encouragement AFTER I take down the Christmas lights.

Have a super Hump Day chickies.

02-02-2005, 07:46 AM
We were posting together, Bamiegurl. Yup, let's go get that damned boss and kick his butt. And while we're at it, we'll "do" BIL too. Rain is better than ice, right? I hope it eases off before you have to go out to get those glasses.

02-02-2005, 08:11 AM
Ruth I'll send the kids to walk the dog for you. They just love takin our dog for a walk. Well our dog loves takin them for a drag! lol Yea I say we head to the peach state and kick us some butt! Yes I will take rain over ice any day! Be careful out today and give the baby a hug. lol

02-02-2005, 08:14 AM
LOL!! Bamie, what part of Atlanta will you be in? Will you have time for an IRL? I don't have much on the schedule for the weekend if you want to get together for a cup of coffee or something... Just PM me and let me know!

Ruth, you'd be more than welcome to those bookends, but I seriously doubt weather he has the equipment to provide them! I know he has no spine, so why should he have gonads???

Ok, spinach is all cooked, cheese is sliced. So, I'm outta here.

HAGD everyone and have a great day on the Beach!

02-02-2005, 09:18 AM
Gonads! Geez, youse Southern ladies have a lotta couth!

02-02-2005, 09:31 AM
Hey chicks, if you need an extra foot to help kick his A** just let me know! I'll be happy to oblige, and he surely deserves it. Make sure you demand a BIG raise, Mamacita.
I've got the laundry going and had my Curves workout, so I'm taking a breather with a cup of coffee and a chat, although I don't have much to say. It's such a georgous day out today that I just might go for a nice long walk. I didn't get to the wallpaper fixing yesterday, but I'm going to try Bamie's idea of painting the glue on and going over it with a roller. That should work. For supper tonight I'm going to try the Shrimp Fried Rice. It should be interesting "ricing" the cauliflower, but I love cauliflower, so it can't be too bad. I'll check in again later.

02-02-2005, 09:43 AM

We southerners have a way of saying the most derogatory things and making it sound like churchbells just by the tone of our voice.

Hope the baby does well after stitch removal. I worked as a Vet Assistant for 4 years. She will be MUCH happier after they are out and not itching and pulling all the time.

Mama, tell you boss that you have an entire online lynchmob waiting for him :rollpin: if he doesn't give you a raise. Surely he will say he wasn't aware "at the time" that it would be so stressful for you. Bosses are good for that line of BS. At least they are at my office. Try not to stress over it. You can handle this. When it gets bad - Post and let it all hang out. Then go smack your boss

Gotta go - have work to do. Everyone have a great day on the Beach and I'll check in later

02-02-2005, 10:07 AM
Good morning all.

For one thing, avoid those sugarfree Reece's cups. :( I had a major upset stomach yesterday after eating three of them over the course of the day. I actually felt like I had stomach flu. No runs, just cramps and it almost felt like I had a fever too. Glad they are out of my system and in the trash.

I feel like I am missing something in what I am doing with SBD. The scale is not moving. I think I may be shooting myself in the foot with portion sizes. It's really hard for me to listen to my body and tell when I need to eat and when I am just bored. One of the challenges for me with this WOE is that I am supposed to never be hungry, but supposed to not be seam-splitting full either. I need to figure out how exactly to do that. I have not cheated in as far as eating disallowed foods, but need to monitor the balance of my diet (need more veggies as usual).

Anyhow it's time for me to get to work! I envy you SAHM's!

02-02-2005, 10:26 AM
Good Morning Ladies~

OK, so I stepped on the scale this morning out of pure curiosity. I've dropped 3# since Monday!! WAHOO!! I guess I should NOT have my weigh in day on Monday. Maybe I should reconsider that. Anyway, I am pretty excited!! Taking baby in today for his 1 year check up. Hard to believe he will be 1 tomorrow!!

Mama~ Definitely ask for a big raise!! If you don't the work will keep piling up on you and you'll be more stressed than you already are. As you know, stress is not good for a person.

Ruth~Christmas lights up still??? And here I thought I was bad. LOL Time to take them down, Bring on Spring!!

Cottage~Shrimp Fried Rice with Cauliflower?? Please, do tell how it tastes tomorrow. I'm very curious.

Geekchic~I LOVE those SF Reeses' cup. Just so you know, you might feel the same way after eating any kind of SF candy. It may just not agree with you. 3# in one week is good weight loss. I only lost 3 in my first week as well. It has alot to do with how much you have to lose, as well as exercise, food intake, etc.. You'll get there!! Dont' get discouraged!

To everyone else who's posted and who have yet to come...Have a great OP Day!!

02-02-2005, 10:48 AM
ok so i have a quick question...haha by now you all probably think thats all i huge have read on the boards many times where people have said...."it depends on how much weight you have to lose" my question is...if you have alot of weight to lose will the loss be dramatic in the begining or is it harder to lose?

Morning all!

Wow I feel like I'm so out of touch this week! My fundraiser went very well. We hit our goal and had a great time. Everything went smoothly so I'm glad I put in all the extra effort. I'm bloated on pop, pistachios and I actually had a piece of multigrain bread with some of the soup I ate at the fundraiser. First bread since Sept 20. Oh well. Yesterday I pounded green tea and veggies and I'm beginning to feel normal again.

I didn't drop the last pound for the month of January so I'm at 9 pounds for the month. I'll take it!

Have a great day everyone!

02-02-2005, 11:57 AM
Deluzion~~Welcome to our beach! From what I have heard , it is easier to lose in the beginning when you have more weight to lose. The last 10-20 pounds seem to be the hardest to lose. This is just my guess, but others might have more info/answers than I do.

MamaC~~The nerve of your boss. I second Ruth and bamie's suggestions

It's raining here, too~~I pray it won't turn to ice if the temps dip again. I'm supposed to drive in to Atlanta this afternoon for a meeting but I haven't been feeling well the past few days and just might play hookie instead. The thought of driving 45 miles in the rain does not appeal to me today.

I just signed up for 2 FREE online classes through for Begining Pilates and a Zen class. I ordered the books and they should be here by the time the classes start (Feb. 7). They offer several classes if you are interested. Click on the tab "B&N university" for the info.
I an now headed downstairs to stretch and ride my bike, if I can breath through this crappy head cold.

02-02-2005, 12:04 PM

Do you have a Jack Russell? I noticed your avatar is of one. I have one that is 12 years old. I am beginning to think they NEVER slow down like a NORMAL dog

02-02-2005, 01:22 PM
Just popping in to say hi! I'm on my lunch and did not get to have my AM snack. I am famished! Having 1/2 cup of pinto beans first to take the edge off, then I will have my two turkey pastrami roll-ups and some salad mix. For my PM snack I have a cheese stick and some celery planned.

FYI I think if you are over 200 lbs and have not recently tried to diet, the weight loss is very dramatic. I dropped 50 pounds in 6 months going from 225 to 175, almost effortlessly (on Weight Watchers). That was in Oct 2002 that I got down to 175 and I've been struggling ever since. I think that part of the reason I only lost 3 lb my first week of SBD is I have been in "dieting mode" for so long that my body was not really surprised.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

02-02-2005, 01:22 PM
noon all --

Bad night for me last night but back on the horse today :) another drive by, work is nuts today.

happy hump day!

02-02-2005, 01:36 PM
Hey Gals!

Okay, I don't know, Im about to give up the weighing thing... Saturday it was 167.2 and today it's 168.4 Gimme a break! :dunno: Anyway, I looked at my fitday nutrients for the last month and It's allot fat. Good Fats mostly though. Im going to kick up the vegetables.

:gift: Anyway, as some of you know I do the FIRM. (weights and cardio) and the ladies who I work with bought some earrings that match a necklace I wear bc they are so proud of me!!! They said it's not an easy workout and proud of me for sticking to it for 2wks... they are pretty silver and black. WOW!! I sent them a thank you email!

The sabatogers at work have been at full force this week. The Sabatoging coworker  brought muffins and all kind of stuff Monday! My other friends at work who are dieting too brought a double C cake with Army men on it... Guess what I RESISTED and so did our one friend so 2 out of 3 ain't bad!... It feels good. :encore:

02-02-2005, 01:38 PM
Hi, all!

Quick fly by as it's already past lunch and I'm still all sixes and sevens! :dizzy:

Mama, what a terrible thing to do to you!!! That sniveling, slimy :censored:!!! I'm with you girls on a lynch mob...let's go! Mama, you do what you need to make this work for you...and don't let that man trick you into doing more than you can handle, okay? :grouphug:

Sounds like a good day on the beach glad to hear it! :) Congrats on the pounds, Amb_lyn! :) I find that I'm almost always two or three pounds lower than the rest of the week on Saturday. If I had to pick a weigh in day, that would be it! ;)

I'm down a pound clue what's happening, but I did neglect my afternoon snack. I ate lunch at 1:30/2:00 and then dinner at 5:00, so no real need to eat my snack. I had dessert when I got home at 9:00, along with a lot of tea, some handfuls of soy nuts, and a mug of cocoa...(can you tell I'm a nighttime eater? :( ), but not having that extra fruit (and extra calories) did seem to help.

I have my first pilates class for the term excited! I love that class, but I am embarassingly out of shape...I haven't done pilates since this class stopped in November! :yikes:

Have a great day, chickies! :D

02-02-2005, 01:51 PM
Good Morning!

Wow, I'm surprised....still on page 1 of the daily. Usually when I check in there's at least 2 pages! Where is everyone?

Mama-Your boss is a big :censored: ! I'm with the other chicks....let's kick some gonads (your boss and your BIL....maybe they'll have enough equipment if you put the 2 of them together!) You definitely deserve a raise.

Bamie-Isn't remodeling just swell? DH cut down half our cabinets and the countertop so the crew can get into take the wall down. I will give him that he is clean when he works though. He shop vacs every night so the kitchen is still somewhat functional. Try to stay dry today! :rain:

Ruth-Christmas lights??? Haven't you batted your eyelashes enough for your neighbor to come over and take them down for you? Don't forget to tell him that while he's at it, to please bring you more wood! Glad to hear Hershey is almost back to her old self (minus a few parts). Does that mean she gets to be even more spoiled because she's in retirement now?

Cottage-Enjoy the walk! :sunny:

Geekchic-Get rid of those PB cups! They are filled with sugar alcohols and bad things that will make you sick! :yikes: They'll also make you all bloaty-like. A tip to find out if you're really hungry is to wait a good 20 minutes after you get hunger pains and drink water. A lot of the time your body is just dehydrated and needs water even though you feel like you want to eat. The scale will move again....just make sure you're not eating all those processed foods (like the PB cup).

Amber-Congrats on the weight loss! I'm with you on Mondays. I think Mondays are evil days and am thinking of moving my weigh-in days to Fridays. Fridays are always better! :)

Deluzion-I've also heard that if you have a lot of weight to lose, it will come off faster in the beginning. Don't get discouraged if it doesn't're reversing all the bad you've done to your body over the years and you will drop the weight.

Anchor-9 pounds is great for the month!!!! Congrats! :D

2BFIT1-Get well soon!!! Driving when you're not feeling well is a PITA. Ditch the meeting! :)

Me: I finally took a sleeping aid last night. I found myself wanting to wake up at 3:00 again but didn't let it happen so I finally got up at 5:30 and exercised!!!! WOOHOO! I did one of my new Tae Bo videos and loved it. I really like Tae Bo and Billy Blanks a lot. He is so motivating!

I got my check this morning from our loan for our kitchen. It's always exciting seeing a check with your name on it with a big amount written in the box! I'm really glad I got it since we've already started the demo. That wouldn't be very good if it had fallen through for some reason! We're waiting for the crew to come in and get rid of the wall that I hate so much and have the cabinet guy coming over soon.

My mom went in this morning to get her eyes done. The poor lady...she was so scared. She's already had a facelift so this should be a piece of cake. I guess it's pretty scary anytime you get the sleepy drugs and have any kind of surgery. She looks really great though and has a ton of self-confidence. She lost 30 pounds or so which has helped her feel really good about herself. It's kind of sad that she had to have surgery to make her feel better about herself but if that's what makes her happy, I say go for it. I wonder if the doctor would offer a family discount for a little lipo on my hips?

That's about it for now. Hope everyone has an OP day at the beach (it's sunny and beautiful here)! I'll check back in later if I get a chance!

02-02-2005, 01:55 PM
Hi to Jenn, Hunny and all posted while I was posting! :)

02-02-2005, 02:35 PM
Hey CJ if they give family discounts can I be your long lost sister from the south! lol That must be nice to get the money to do all the renos. DH is a firm believer in pay as you go period!. Even though we have about 50 thou in home equity he would never borrow it. Well unless it was to buy another rental house! lol I wanted to take some to do the kitchen and our bedroom/bathroom but he says no! Good thing in a way but can be a real pain as well! lol

02-02-2005, 03:14 PM
Bamie - Know just what you mean. My DH is the same way. NO credit card purchases, NO loans for remodeling. I have for the past 3 years tried to get him to let me remodel the Kitchen and build a playroom/utility room onto the rear of the house. We have room. We have the money, but NOOOOOOOOO, we don't NEED it. You are right - sometimes it's good - sometimes not.

Mama - I think it's unanimous, let kick his :tape: and ask questions later :s:.

Hunny - I also have the evil co-worker who brings sweets and anything else to torture me with that she can find. The nerve of her thinking someone else might like it :p

Me, I've lost a whole 3 pounds :kickcan:. I will be thirty four next month and I sure do wish that my waistline would match  . But the odds of THAT happening are slim(get it) to none.

Well, gotta go, the boss just walked by. Check in later

Have a great afternoon everyone

02-02-2005, 03:17 PM
CJ~~Congrats on getting the loan. Now, the fun has just begun!!! (right, Ellis??)

Raynesmom~Congrats on the weight loss this week :bravo:

02-02-2005, 04:27 PM
Sure, you can be my long lost sister! I'll call the doctor and let him know you're coming! ;)

We have over $160,000 in equity (let me just say that I definitely bought at the right time in this ever expanding state)! We refinanced our loan and tacked some money on the bottom line to do the kitchen. We have a free equity line if we should ever need it (hmmm.....that jacuzzi tub in the master bath sure does sound good).

I'm off to lunch! :)

02-02-2005, 04:33 PM
That's what we are puttin in our masterbath. I can't wait our other house had one. It's been 6 months since we bought this one and I cannot believe how much I miss that stinkin tub still! Well after all the kitchen redo's DH may need the tub to relax! lol Have a good lunch!

Good to get caught up with you all!

I just got done reading everyone's posts for today. I also just got done working out! I finished the birthday board at school today so I guess the majority of my obligations are over for the moment. Back to focusing on the diet.

Mama- If you pick the right TOM I could probably ride my broom down there and kick his behind for ya. What a creep.

For all you scale-a-phobs. I'm a recovering scale-a-phob. I honestly can only weigh myself once a week on Wednesday's otherwise I have scale issues. I used to weigh on Mondays but that didn't work out. I forgot to weigh in today but I just did on Monday so maybe I'll wait until next Wednesday.

Portion size is also one of my downfalls. Whenever my weight loss slows I recheck my portion sizes - even salad portion sizes and usually I can kick start it back up. I just did a portion crackdown at the beginning of January and I lost 9 pounds this month instead of my usual 4.

Raynesmom - I don't have a Jack Russell terrier. I just love them  When my husband and I divorced last year he stayed in the house and DS and I moved in with my DM & DF to kind of soften the blow. I will be buying a house over here (45 minutes away from the X) so my DM & DF can help with my 7 year old. I will be getting a Jack Russell terrier when I get my own house again. My last dog was a Rottie and I decided that my next dog will be very SMALL! Love the Rottie but I don't want to have to strip to my undies to give a dog a bath. Cause when a Rottie decides he has had enough of the tub - he leaves - whether you want them to or not.

Wow I missed you guys! See you in the am.

PS -

Fireflynova - your new picture is great!

Jenne - your new picture is great too! I meant to tell you that before.

You can really see the weightloss in both of your faces!

Way to go! Keep up the good work.

02-02-2005, 07:41 PM
Anchor I'm so glad your back! I've missed you and I want details on your hot new romance with the young thang! lol Gotta jet kids! lol

02-02-2005, 09:14 PM
Today has been so busy! Non-stop. I left work on time only to come home and get back online. I've still got to test a patch tonight and then put it on a production server around midnight but I'm waiting on others now. I hate changes in the middle of the night when I have to get up at 6 the next day. Needless to say, I did not get to the gym tonight. I sure hope tomorrow is better.

02-02-2005, 10:35 PM
Last check-in before bedtime. I did a Beachgal thing and had a salad in a serving bowl tonight, along with a very small steak and a small serving of pinto beans (there are still tons left -- I did them in the c rock pot and had two servings today -- maybe help with the, um, problems). Also ran today for the first time in a couple weeks, as the weather is easing up. I am feeling pretty good. Just made a "mocha" ricotta creme with a splash of leftover coffee from the AM rather than the elusive espresso powder. Pretty good.

Anyway I am off to read before bed. TTFN!

02-02-2005, 10:48 PM
Well it rained all day so we stayed home cause Mom didn't want to get out in the mess. Tomorrow we are getting out period! I told her we have been couped up tooooo long! lol DH is in there workin on that stinkin wallpaper!Looks like we are gonna have to skeen the walls. Oh what a mess! I am not dusting until we are finished! lol If god was still makin us from the dust he could have a small army from my diningroom table! lol Well I am off to bed I hope! I have not been sleepin real good although I did sneak in a nap today before I fell over and I enjoyed that! I was up at 4 this morning for no reason! Have a good evening all!

02-02-2005, 11:42 PM
Quick one,
I had a really good day 2.
Went to the tanning bed got burned, I still say I love them.
Had company all evening.
All of you seem to be doing OK????
All for now,
Love Taz
