Good morning ladies!!!!!

First I want to say that I am still praying for Penny and her family. Hope there was improvement last night.

Well, I am wiped out still. And I feel like I could start getting cranky!! Not so much bugga keeping me awake, because he only woke one time, but for some reason that one time is keeping me up the rest of the night I have trouble falling back to sleep. Not to mention that a little girl crawled into our bed last night and smooshed me all night. I am not meant to sleep. OH well. I'll try to do the challange today, but I don't know.

01-29-2005, 12:18 PM
Good morning everyone,

Firstly, Penny, please know that we are still praying for your family, and we all know how difficult this time is for all concerned. May God give you strength. We all love ya and send out ((((hugs))) to you.

Mel- is it still cold out by you? We had an icy rain which makes the roads slippery beyond belief but also cuts out my walkies. I'm afraid to fall. Hope you make it to the gym today!

Michelle-you know I really can't wait for the new challenge! I have seen such good things come out of this one. Are you going to change anything? Well, go-go gazelle girl!

Jeniqua-How's the tooth today? You poor thing! I'm certain you can not wait for that thing to be pulled out! Have a better day today, than yesterday!

I'll be back around lunchtime. I have little slaves to put through the paces today, They have to clean their rooms! I'll get personal with everone then. TTYL

01-29-2005, 12:23 PM
Okay Mel- hope you get in a nap!!! UgH! Nothing worse than getting broken sleep, what?, three nights in a row.

01-29-2005, 01:07 PM
Roxy, it's warm here's a whoppingn 23.5 degrees out! I bet it's very slippery. I wouldn't go walking either. Do you have any watp videos? Maybe you could do that instead. No gym today. I very rarely go on the weekend unless I was a slacker during the week. DH is going away for 6 days this week and I don't want to go to the gym. I promised dd I would take her for new slippers a gift for a classmate and McD's for lunch. OH OH OH. I'd better eat salad or chicken. 4 days of broken sleep and TOM coming and dh leaving. OH NOT A GOOD COMBO. I'm gonna be a
Grump. No body better mess with me this week! They'd get an ear full! Have a great day Roxy ttyl.....

01-29-2005, 01:51 PM
Hey ladies, sorry no time for a long post i have to get ready for work, so I'm working from 12-8 today and then tomorrowI'm going to open so I have to be there at 6:30 Ughhhh but no biggie :D

Okay time to get in the shower I just wanted to come and say hello!!

Have a great day!

01-29-2005, 02:21 PM
Hey ladies fly by from me too. It's beautiful here right now!! Sunny and 45 at 10 in the morning so I know it will continue to warm a bit. Bayley and I are going out for a long walk and then to play in the park. Wanted to say that I lost those 1.5 I was up yesterday and an additional .5 too!! I am so exicted!! It must have just been something I ate the night before or something. Anyway I'm staying on track today so I have a good WI tomorrow. We are going to Home Town Buffett tonight to celebrate the January birthdays with dh's family but there are 3 of us on a diet so we are going to hold each other accountable. We are then going to take all the kids to the Family Fun Center and let them play in this big playhouse thing. Bayley has never been so I am excited to take her. Gotta remember my camera! Ok need to get cleaned up to go! TTYL have a great day ladies!

Penny I'm still thinking and praying for your family, I hope you have some good news to give us when you get back.

01-29-2005, 03:38 PM
Hi everyone!
Just got back from our usual Saturday routine - Jeremy's drum lesson, then lunch at Panera (low-fat chicken noodle soup for me), then running errands.

I'm also still praying for Penny and her family.

Jill - Home Town Buffet sounds great. They have the best bread pudding there. I haven't been there in ages.

Melissa - sorry about your crappy sleep. I could never sleep well with a kid in my bed.

Roxy - hey there!

Hi Michelle.

Gotta go nag the husband now.. LOL!

01-29-2005, 05:01 PM
Hi, all. Well, my youngest son woke up this morning with a weird rash all over his body. Not quite sure what it is, but hopefully it will pass quickly. Cold and snowy here. Have a great day.

01-29-2005, 06:47 PM
Hello ladies! I am sorry, my computer has been giving me fits, but I think I have the problem solved now...we shall see, at least it's running faster and aim hasn't crashed yet!

Anyway, to answer the big question from yesterday, I have been without a car for 6 months now, and when I got my refund check I bought an older car from a friend of mine. It runs great! 1984 Olds Delta 88. New tires, two spares (regular tire and a doughnut). AC works great, which is important in Texas. Radio and tape player are in excellent shape. Less than 100,000 original miles on it, had a little old lady who took great care of her for most her life. Drives great, engine sounds awesome. Nice sturdy body, lots of room. Brown with brown interior, very clean. Upholstery is in good shape too. Alright, I have talked enough about her....I love having a car again! Really I do. I have missed being able to go places and do things, and this will make finding a getting a job a lot easier.

Penny, your cousin will continue to be in my prayers. Let us know how she is doing, please?

Anyway, I have to go, kids getting into everything. Take care all!

01-29-2005, 08:57 PM
Good evening ladies.. I've been so busy all day I haven't had a chance to get on here until now.

Penny~ We are all still praying for your cousin. My pastor and his wife came over today and we said a prayer for her. When you get a chance give us an update.

Mel~ I've been beat all day too so I definitely know TOM is right around the corner for me as well. Enjoy your time with dh and kids before he leaves for 6 days. If you need to chat you can IM me or even give me a call. I know what it's like to have dh on the road.

Michelle~ Have a great day at work!

Tabitha~ Your new car sounds really nice! It definitely will make it easier for you to find a job now that you have transportation. Hope you're having a great day.

Jill~ Your day sounds like it was going to be lots of fun. How did Bailey enjoy herself?? Did everyone hold each other accountable when it came to eating?? Did you take pics? Boy, I'm full of questions for you tonight..LOL!!

Roxy~ Hey!! My tooth was great all day until tonight when I had to eat something. I ate 1 pancake for dinner(I fgured it was soft) and now I am having major pain...uugghh!! I tell you Wednesday isn't coming fast How was your day??

Hi Gretchen and Ricci! Ricci, I hope your son's rash goes away. To all you other ladies out ther I hope all is well. I better go and exercise and get the challenge in. I'll be back tomorrow after church. Nite ladies!!

01-29-2005, 09:05 PM
Hey Tabitha great about the car! Sounds like you got a good one! Older cars that still run good are hard to come by. I had a '95 4-runner for awhile and it had all sorts of problems! I really think it depends on who owns them and how good they take care of them.

Well dh and I just got back from town. We were getting some presents for the birthdays we are attending. January is definitely a big month for us for birthdays!! I've been really good today and got some exercise in too. I'm hoping for a good WI tomorrow! My sil and I are going to be strong together tonight when everyone is eating dessert. I'm glad she will be there with me because she is usually the one wanting me to eat bad with her and it's really hard not too. It used to make me mad though too because here I was trying really hard to be healthy and she was shoving bad food in my face. I think she just felt guilty for eating it herself so if I ate it too she didn't feel so bad. Anyway at least I will have somewhat of a support group. lol It's going to be weird not eating cake at my own group birthday but I can do it!!

Well I hope everyones days are going great. I am going to post a recipe of the taco bake that I made last night. It was soooooooooooooooooooo good. I didn't even miss the chips or tortillas. I just had it like a taco salad without chips. It was delish! So good that I couldn't wait till lunch today to have some more!! lol so here it is, try it if you like

Serves 4:
1 can fat free refried beans
1 lb extra lean ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1 large bell pepper chopped (red's my favorite, but use whatever)
8 oz mushrooms, coarsely chopped (diced, not sliced)
1 can green chilis (like ortega)
2-3 cloves garlic, finely chopped (or more, if you'd like)
2-3 TB chili powder (your favorite that hopefully has no added sugar)
1 TB cumin
1-2 t garlic powder
2-3 TB tomato paste
2/3 C shredded f/f or l/f cheese, your choice, I use 2% Kraft cheddar

Garnish - any, all work well:
chopped green onions
chopped black olives
l/f, f/f sour cream
chopped lettuce and tomatoes
chopped cilantro
avocado or lf guacamole

Preheat oven to 450. Take a flat casserole dish, spray with cooking spray and spread refried beans on the bottom. Season with salt and pepper and bake for 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, saute meat, onions, bell pepper, garlic (season with S&P) until onion begins to soften and meat beings to brown. Add mushrooms and cook until they've released their water and meat is thoroughly browned. Drain fat and add all spices, and cook for about 2-3 minutes until spices toast. Add green chilies and tomato paste, along with a little bit of water, if needed. The mixture should be moist but not runny.

Take the casserole dish with the beans, pour mixture on top and top with cheese (sometimes I add olives and green onions at this stage). Bake in the oven for another 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and just starts to bubble. Serve with generous heaps of lettuce as a bed (romain, red leaf and iceberg work really well here), and garnish with garnishes of your choice.

Ok here it is! I found that iceberg lettuce is really good with it because it gives it a crunch. If you make it let me know how you like it!!

01-29-2005, 10:07 PM
Good evening. I think RJ has measles. We will just wait and see. Penny, I am saying a prayer for your family. Jill, the birthday season for me is June through October. We have about 15 birthdays within that time frame. Well, I hope everyone has a great evening.

01-29-2005, 11:26 PM
Evening ladies,

Tabitha- the car sounds great! My hubby likes older cars because you can still work on them yourself. I hope you have good luck with it, it sounds good!

Ricci- Measles? oh no! Hope not! I suppose he wasn't vaccinated for it huh?
Well, as if you aren't busy enough!

Jilly-funny you should post that particular recipe, we just ate that tonight! I'm not making it up. Same thing, no mushrooms, I even made homemade guacomole too. We serve it with chips for the family, I don't eat those. It's very nice to make dishes for the family that I can still eat myself. It makes more sense to do it that way, instead of cooking different. Ha! You had leftovers? TeeHee! As If!

Jeniqua-OOH That poor tooth! Are you starving yet? What are you doing making smoothies or shakes? Do you get any relief?

Gretchen-howdy, like your chicken soup? Hope you had a great day!

Hi Michelle-kick back and have a great evening!

Mel- did ya get over the grumpies? I hope you have some peace tonight.

Penny- still in my thoughts, I hope she's made some improvements!

Well, I'm gonna hit the sack early tonight. Talk to you all tomorrow.

01-29-2005, 11:44 PM
Me again.
Tabitha, congrats on the car. It sounds great. Roxy, I did have him vaccinated when he was 1, but they have to have another round before kindergarten. Wouldn't it figure I was planning on taking him next month for his kindergarten shots. I just looked at him again before bed, and some of the spots are developing white heads on them. Still not chicken pox though. Anyway, to all of you have a good night and a FANTASTIC tomorrow.

01-30-2005, 01:16 AM
Hello Everyone!

First of all I would like to THANK each and every one of you wonderful friends for all the warm wishes, prayers and thoughts! You are all truely the best!!!!! Big hugs! I love you all lots :)

I just wanted to let you know how much all of your candles meant from last night! I just printed them all out and My mil is going to the hospital in the am to bring food and is bringing them all to Uncle Paul (michelle's dad). She is going to hang them all in Michelle's glass on the outside of the icu room.

They gave her a medication last night that they had to decide if it was the best or not, it was her last resort but it could make her start to hemridge (how the heck do you spell that??) anyhow, they gave it to her and she has shown slight improvement.... But only time will tell, at this point I just pray for the best for her!

I just read through all the post and I want to say Hello to all of you!

I will be back to post hopefully on Monday.

I am sooo sorry not to get personal but I am thinking of you all!

Have a wonderful night! You are the best!

01-30-2005, 01:40 AM
Penny thanks for updating. That's great about the meds. I hope it continues to work. I hope that our candles will bring her some healing. How scary for her mom and dad, and all of you guys. I can only imagine! Hope you are holding up ok. I'm here for you!!

Ricci so sorry about the measles!! Oh no I hope it's not that! Keep us updated!

Hi Roxy!! Wasn't that taco bake good? I really liked it. I think I will make it again next week, it's something dh can take with him to work. I would imagine there wouldn't be any left in your house!! lol There are only 3 of us here!

Jeniqua your poor tooth :( I can't wait for you to get it fixed so you can get back to normal. How is your little one with strep? Better I hope. I hate it when kids get sick, I feel so bad for them!

Hope everyone else is having a great evening!!

So we went to Hometown and I got a big salad with reduced fat dressing to start, then got some salmon, baked whitefish and some banana squash. That is ALL they had that was halfway healthy. I got full but I was kind of ticked, they didn't even have any cooked vegetables besides carrots and those are not SBD approved. Anyway my sil was good too and she told me to go over to the dessert area to see if they had any sf or ff desserts and I didn't think they would and they did!! I had a sf lime pie thing and a little sf ice cream. It hit the spot and made me feel like I was actually getting something! lol My dh on the other hand who has been doing so good, ate like it was his last meal and went back for dessert 4 times!! Mind you each time he came back he had a dessert in each hand!! I could have smacked him. It's one thing to have a cheat day but he really over did it. Anyway I feel good about myself and I think I am going to finish the day with a few bottles of water to clean out my system before WI tomorrow. Ok sorry to babble lol hope you ladies are having a wonderful evening!! I'll TTYL

01-30-2005, 09:33 AM
Penny~ Thanks soo much for the update! We're still praying for her. I'm getting ready to go to church and I'm sure we'll be praying for her there today too. Hang in there. We are all here if you need us.

Jill~ You did great last night!! You should be very proud of yourself. Sf ice cream and sf lime pie..yummy! I will finally have some relief with my tooth on Wednesday when I get it pulled..YAY!! I was able to finally get coverage for the 1st and my appointment is the 2nd, talk about a close call. I've been praying like crazy and God has provided me with dental coverage! My son is doing much better. Thanks for asking. He's back in his own bed and doing great. Are you ready for WI?? I'm not..I am bloated soo I too think I might be up by a pound. How can you gain weight if you can't eat??? Oh well, have a blessed day!

Roxy~ You went to bed early last night! That taco salad that you and Jill made sounds soo good. I wish I had all the ingredients, I'd make it. Next weekend is grocery week, maybe I'll make it then. My tooth will have some relief soon Wednesday is the big day.

Well I better get ready for church but I'll be back this afternoon to chat with the rest of you ladies! Have a beautiful morning and God bless each and every one of you!!

01-30-2005, 09:55 AM
Good morning ladies,
Penny, I'm continuing to pray for Michelle. Thanks for updating us.

It's snowing here again and a lot of churches are cancelling services again like they did last week. Our pastor is from Minnesota so he thinks we're all wimpy, but a lot of people have to drive in this stuff and most around here don't know how. I really need to go this week and we also have a new member class there this afternoon.

Jill - that taco bake sounds really good. I made chili last night with turkey and really low-fat ground beef. I had about 1 cup of it.

Jeniqua - I'm glad to hear about your dental coverage.

Ricci - measles? That sounds serious. I hope that is not what he has. If he was vaccinated, it's probably something else. Let us know how he's doing.

Tabitha - I'm glad you got a car. I'm sure it makes you happy, too!

Well, I'm going to go check the church's website to see if they've cancelled services again.
Take care, everyone.

01-30-2005, 11:28 AM
Good Morning Ladies!!

Penny I'm still praying for Michelle! I love you girly!

Okay no time for a long post I'm at work, I'll post when I get home!

My weigh in today was 206.5, I am gonna re-weigh myself when I get home though because I normally weigh in about 11 am but today I weighed at 5:30 am so I just want to see, but I've drank a buttload of coffee so I doubt it will be any less lol. So anyway 1 lb down which is great since I thought forsure I would maintain or gain! So I get 2 points for weight loss today since I couldn't claim my half pound last week!

01-30-2005, 12:18 PM
What the heck? No new thread for the day.... ;) Well my weight is the same...darn it. This super long TOM is making me miserable and puffy.

Penny-Thank you so much for the update on Michelle. I'm still keeping her in my prayers.

Jeniqua-Are you still really having trouble with that tooth? Hopefully you can get it fixed soon.

Michelle-WTG on the weight loss. You are doing awesome.

Melissa-Where are you? Must be exercising...

Jill-The taco bake sounds yummy. I'm going to try the pizza first and then test the taco bake on my family.

Tabitha-The car sounds great! Have fun cruising around in it.

Gretchen-How are things for you this a.m.? Did your church service cancel? I'm playing hookie today. Tiana didn't get back home last night until 11. She went out of town with my ex sil to visit her cousins for the day. I was one tired mama.

Ricci-Measles? Is that what they are for sure? Your poor little one.

Roxy-Hey mama! How are you doing? BTW are you doing the SBD too? I'm thinking on switching to that. WW just isn't producing the results anymore.

Hi Kristin, Deana, Cheri, Geri, and the rest of the clan. See you after awhile.
I gotta get some stuff done before dh gets back. He went to go get me some lower cabinets for my sewing room he is putting together for me so that I can have a peaceful spot away from busy hands to get some sewing done. He's such a sweetheart.

01-30-2005, 12:42 PM
Hey ladies! I'm really excited cuz I am another pound down from last week!!! 145!! I'm excited. I need to go take the pic of the scale before I eat though or it will go up again. I'm almost down to what I was before Thanksgiving. Still ticks me off that I gained 7 pounds over the holidays. I will have officially done SBD for 2 weeks on Tuesday and then I can start adding fruit and whole grain bread back into my diet slowly. I don't think I'm going to add bread though. I really don't miss it and I know that it doesn't really do me any good. I will slowly add fruit back but any other starches I am going to try and stay away from. I know that's why I have lost, no bread, potatos, chips, crackers etc. I don't crave them anymore (the point of phase 1 in SBD) so I don't want to eat them for fear I will start craving them again.

Chris if your looking for something new I would def. reccomend SBD. Everyone that I know of that has done phase 1 the right way has lost weight. My mom has lost weight on phase 1 and 2, about 25 pounds!! The resources on 3fc for it are great too. Lots of yummy recipes that you can make for you and your family so everyone isn't eating something else. Your dh is sweet! That's so nice of him!

Hi Michelle you working woman! I bet that sucked to go in early when you are used to doing the late night shift. Good job on the pound down!! Seems like everyone is losing now and the challenge is almost over!!

Hi Gretchen that chili sounded good and low fat! Good for you! Hope you were able to go to church.

Jeniqua that is so awesome you got some dental insurance!!! I'm so happy for you. I couldn't imagine having to get dental work done without it. It is spendy enough with insurance and outrageous without it! Glad your litte one is feeling better. I hope you have a slower week this week!

Ok I hear the baby up and I need to take my scale pic before I eat and I am STARVING!! So..............................have a great day ladies!! TTYL

01-30-2005, 01:21 PM
Hey Chris, BTW, if you wanted to know about the Wendy diet, there is a link on the msn boards about it. Don't know if you ever saw it...

Tabitha, cool about the car. I bet you are excited!

Jill, good for you on the pound down. GO EAT GIRL

Michelle, you must be so excited about the weight loss. Tom is killin me here. I hope I get it so the water goes, otherwise a water pill for the next weigh in will be necessary. BTW, dh is gonna be away till late Sunday night. I don't know if I can get the picture out to the group of my body by then. THe scale yes, but I won't have anyone here to take my pic Monday ok?

01-30-2005, 03:49 PM
Sarting a new thread-see you there!
