I've been tiptoeing around in here listening to the snores and decided it's time to get going. We need a rooster to wake us some mornings - and he can make the coffee too.
Well, I passed my physical with flying colours. I even got weighed on the doc's scale - she insisted - and did not freak when I weighed heavier there. It's just a number and I've still lost the weight. My bloodwork and all the other stuff is fine and she is sure the PAP test will be fine too, So I guess I'm good for a while yet.
It's supposed to be "warmer" today. It's above zero F right now and is supposed to go to 24F today! I was getting pretty tired of the sub zero stuff and never seemed to get warm. I know I've lost a bit of personal insulation but... I have been finding the kitchen cold and discovered the heat vents were closed. Oy! I closed them during painting in November so dust and dog fluff wouldn't float and never opened them. Duh! There I was blaming the new windows!
We are off to the Library this morning and maybe out for lunch. This afternoon I may sew and finish my purple jacket. The Red Hatters have a tea party Sunday afternoon and I really would like to wear it then. I'll buy some little tarts to take to the party and definitely will resist them. I hate the way pastry makes my teeth feel so will not have a problem there.
So what's happening at your nest this weekend?
01-29-2005, 07:37 AM
Morning Ruth and all to come,
Went to bed early and was up twice to eat/??????
Today I am going to try to finish the bedroom, put the floor down.
Is there a place on the boards where I can go to get a shopping list for week one, P1?
I am too lazy to try to figure this out.
All for now,
01-29-2005, 07:47 AM
 Too funny about the vents, Ruth.
I'm glad your physical went well!
Yes, I knew it was "warmer" today when I woke up... it's sort of misty here...
I had a lovely breakfast yesterday with a friend. I enjoyed the food, and managed to pass on the toast. :)
We were supposed to breakfast tomorrow with my oldest friend and her family (their invitation), but for the third time in a row, something "work related" has come up with her husband (he's ridiculously overambitious where work is concerned, and I'm not impressed!), and SHE called and very apologetically cancelled. (frankly, I would have made HIM call!) So I've decided that we won't try to make any more commitments with them as a family. I was furious over it last night, and I don't need that kind of stress in my life.
I wonder what it is with some people that they feel their own life is more important than anyone else's... :?:
On a positive note, tomorrow is now a free day, and with any luck, we'll get a little closer to completing the kitchen! :D
01-29-2005, 07:49 AM
Taz, I missed your post!
The FAQ is here:
and the list for Phase I is here:
Good luck with the floor today, hon! :lucky:
01-29-2005, 07:53 AM
I couldn't get on yesterday morning before I had to leave for the day, but you all sure were clucking away! This is such a great group!
I had a Weight&Measure at Curves yesterday, and out of the blue I was up 2lbs.! Now where that came from I have no idea. I've been staying OP religiously, and making sure I've been drinking enough water. So now this morning, the 2lbs. are gone again! I tell you - my body is a work of art. I give up trying to figure out it's wacky ways! I had the little ones all day yesterday, as mommy & daddy left for a skiing weekend. We made muffins in the morning, and I wasn't even tempted by them. Of course that had a lot to do with the fact that I let them squish up bananas in the batter, and I don't care for bananas at all. After their naps we came back to my house, and my little GD came over to play with them til their GPs picked them up for the night. I served them pizza, and made myself a Salmon Ceaser Salad. So I made it through Day 5 on Phase 1 really well. Today DD is coming with the GD's for the day, so I really don't know what we're going to do. She mentioned let's go out and do something, so I'll wait til she gets here and see what she has in mind. I image that will mean dinner out, and I imagine that will mean I'm expected to pay, too!
Ruth, I'm so happy that you passed your physical with flying colors!!!! You have the right frame of mind about the scale. I told myself the same thing at Curves. But why do Dr's scale always weigh us in more than our own? I think it's a conspirancy! Have a lovely time at the library, that and bookstores are my favorite places to go.
01-29-2005, 07:55 AM
Good morning Tazcat and Ellis, have a very pleasant weekend!
01-29-2005, 08:06 AM
Cottage, you're doing so well staying OP! Good for you, hon! :hat: Uh huh... those pounds go up and down, don't they.
01-29-2005, 08:50 AM
Well, the Internet Weather Check lied about it being above zero! The temp was -10F when I let The Girls out! Ellis, that's not mist - it's frassing frost hanging in the air!
Cottage, that's a great idea to make banana muffins if you don't like them. I'd resist banana muffins too. I buy Harry peanut butter oatmeal cookies because I don't like PB cookies, just PB in a sandwich. Good for you to be right OP! Ignore the Curves scale blip!
Taz, you're working hard. Maybe that's why you were up a couple of times in the night. Try removing your brain and putting it in a jar on the dresser tonight.
Ellis, three strikes and you're out! Why the heck can't she go ahead and have the getogether without jerkhead? On the other hand, maybe your DH wants another guy presence although your DH seems too together to have that problem.
Harry is just now eating his breakfast. He is so slow in the mornings. We will probably go to the Library just before it closes today so I'll have most of the morning to do stuff. I'm going to treadmill and then make Osso Bucco in the slow cooker. I don't use veal shanks so it's sort of Bucco Sans Osso! If we do go out to lunch, we'll have something light for dinner and I'll have tomorrow's meal done!
Big  to chicks to peck in!
01-29-2005, 09:33 AM
A quick lil drive by for me this morning. I am goin to get one of my nieces and take her to lunch today for her birthday. I will be stayin OP! I'm gonna make a pot of chili this morning so I know mom will have some lunch. I still have to get a shower and I need to leave by 10ish. It's 8:30 my time.
Ellis I'm with Ruth why does he have to go do it without him!
Ruth glad all is well. Get them vents open! lol
Taz you are slavin away girl! Don't overdo it.
Cottage I hope you enjoy your day with family. I don't like nanners either!
Hey everybody else! Have a great OP day!
01-29-2005, 09:41 AM
Happy Saturday ladies! :D
I am glad to hear that everyone is doing so well today.
Keep warm up there Ruth! I am happy your dr's visit went well.
Ellis, I think I would have been mad too. Try to not let it get you down hon!
Cottage, sounds like lots of fun with the kids. I hope you have a great day with your family.
Tazcat, I hope you get everything done that you want to today. Don't forget to take some time to rest.
Last night I went to Jazzercise with my father-in-law's fiancee, Becky. She was pretty nervous about not doing things right. I told her to just move and have fun and not worry about it. She enjoyed herself and we are meeting to go again on Sunday morning. I think it will help me to have a partner. It will keep me motivated to go. For some reason it seems that I can hold committments I make to other people much easier than the ones I make to myself!
This morning I am meeting a group of ladies for lunch. We are going to be meeting once a month on a Saturday. It will be nice to get out of the house and away from the guys. I have 4 older brothers and married into a family of 4 brothers so I get really overloaded with guys sometimes. I have to grab ahold of times to be with other ladies when I can, lol.
After lunch I have to do some work on booking some Mary Kay classes. I really need to get my rear in gear. The hardest thing for me to do is get on the phone and call people. It is something that I am just going to have to get over, because I am never going to save enough money to adopt (that is the backup plan for if my test results show we shouldn't have kids) unless I get my business going. I LOVE teaching, but the paycheck... well... ya know, it BITES! LOL!
I hope everyone has a FABULOUS OP weekend!
01-29-2005, 09:43 AM
Bamie, I missed your post! I hope you have a great lunch with your niece! Have a great weekend!
01-29-2005, 09:48 AM
Good Morning Girls,
I checked in a few weeks ago and due to some emergency dental work, did not or chose not, (you fill in the correct verb) get started on SB. Even though we are in the middle of a winter ice storm in the south, I started Phase I today!!!! Yeah just getting started feels great!! I know for the rest of you, your sympathy level about the weather is low, just keep in mind it was 70 degrees here (South Carolina) on Wednesday and weather like this shuts us down!! Except for the fact we will probably lose electricity I enjoy a day where we are told to stay home and off the roads.
I am making a "legal" vegetable soup and the vegetable quiche cups to have on hand. We grilled some chicken breast last night, and I have string cheese . So no excuses for me. When we thaw I want to be a skinny chick on the beach. The recipes look great and you girls seem very supportive, I REALLY need that. I feel like I have failed so many times at so many diets, I think it starts to carry over to the rest of your life.
Thanks for listening and caring, STAY WARM.
I am going to try to figure out how to add my pesonals.
Hugs and prayers,
01-29-2005, 10:05 AM
Welcome to the Beach Wanda!!
01-29-2005, 10:10 AM
Welcome to The Beach, Wanda. You sound like you are prepared.
I have a friend in GA who is battening down for the ice as we speak. I do hope you don't lose power. We were without it for 14 days when we had the Ice Storm in 1998 and it was NOT fun.
01-29-2005, 10:15 AM
Good morning ladies
We had a sleet/freeze overnight and all the roads are iced over. The bright side is that I'm not able to get to work~bummer ;) . So I'll be having a lazy day with my DH. Maybe we can do some of the kitchen stuff that we didn't get to yesterday (electrical).
Mamacita~~Are you safe at home this morning??
Bamie~~Did you get iced in?
Ellis~~I got your email and it looks like you will be hanging drywall today~no??
Taz~Keeping busy with home projects got me through my loss, I hope it helps with yours :grouphug:
Ruth~~Good to hear that you passed your exam :cp:
Cottage~~Water weight/retention is a PIA, isn't it  ?
Wanda~~I'm with ya in the Ice Storm, girl!! Stay warm and safe :)
Nallie~~I'd love to do a Girls Saturday Lunch , but alas, I don't have enough friends to do it
To whoever mentioned about getting a lightbox for SAD~~ Ruth and I got one a few years ago and it's great. I can't find the info right now (had it on my old computer) but I'll look for it. Also Ruth might have it.
To all those who posted while I 2-finger typed~~Have a great day!!
01-29-2005, 10:15 AM
Welcome to the Beach, Active, I'm so glad you're joining us. Yep, I have absolutely NO sympathy with you RE your weather! Yesterday it got to a "high" of 11*, and supposed to warm up to the 20's today! Sounds like you're good and ready to begin Phase 1, just remember to drink, drink, drink. Good luck, and it'll be exciting to hear all about your progress!
01-29-2005, 10:16 AM
How do I add a weight tracker, I have it set up and have copied it , where do I paste?
I am so compute illiterate, maybe just posting with you girls will help me.,
01-29-2005, 10:20 AM
Wanda~Once you copy your tracker, go to Quick Links (at the top of the page) and chose Edit Profile. There, under your signature, you can paste it.
I found the SAD light website for those interested.
01-29-2005, 10:22 AM
Thanks for the reminder, SIL. I've not been "SAD" this winter but have been using it as a sewing light. It's even better than my Ott light! I hope you don't get too much freezing rain! Stay safe.
01-29-2005, 10:23 AM
Oh boy, oh boy, another computer illiterate!!!! Now I won't feel so alone out here!
01-29-2005, 10:28 AM
Ruth~Sewing and light therapy at the same time: wonderful multi-tasking!!!!
01-29-2005, 10:33 AM
Hey Cottage~~ our weight trackers have the same current and goal weights!!
Please have alittle sympanthy for us Southerners because nobody here knows how to drive on this ice and the salt trucks don't get to our country roads :(
01-29-2005, 10:35 AM
Wanda~~I was wrong, sorry. Under Quick Links, go to Edit Signature and paste there. As you can see, I'm also computer illiterate
01-29-2005, 10:39 AM
It's me again, I typed this a little while ago,but I think I failed to hit post. How do I add the cutsie weight tracker, I designed one , copied and don't know where to post?
Anyone of you is smarter than I on a computer!!
Thanks for all the WARM welcomes, I am excited to see such avid beach buddies !!
It sounds like some of you are in major home projects, that can be fun and challenging.
I bought a new dining room table about a year ago and it was too large for the dining room, I had to add a bay window area to create enough room for the person at the end of the table to sit. We still have to sand and finish it, this will not happen today.
My DH still laughs about this, sweet guy that he is!!
Cottage, I just found your deep dish pizza recipe, that should help with the regular Friday night pizza, Thanks in advance, it looks yummy!!!
One more question, are lentils Phase I ?
01-29-2005, 10:44 AM
Please forgive an impatient idiot, I will try again.
Sil you are so right about drivers in the South, and living on country roads. I wouldn't trade it for anything though!! I too love to garden and can almost smell the warm soil now.!! How large is your garden and when will you start to plant?
a broad abroad

01-29-2005, 11:44 AM
Hey gang - I've been here before, briefly, in the Fall, and had great success on P1 and P2, but the holidays got the best of me. Didn't gain everything back, but enough...
Anyway, just wanted to drop by and say "Hi!" - I'll be starting P1 either tomorrow or Monday, depending on social plans, so I'll be here with you more often.
Today I'm making Taco Bake and Sirloin Tips and Mushrooms, from the recipe threads, for my food for the week. I do love Taco Bake, so can't wait to have it again!
01-29-2005, 11:58 AM
Morning everyone! Thought I'd finally jump in and say a thing or two :D
My name is Jane and I live in Cave Creek, Arizona with my dh and our cocker spaniel, Cassie. My dd lives in CA to attend college :) I love to cook and entertain. I'm working really hard incorporating exercise into my daily routine. I hate it but I'm doing it anyway. This is the fourth week I have exercised 5 days a week. I am increasing my exercise time and making improvements and I can see the difference already :) I'm starting Phase2 tomorrow. Still thinking about what I am going to add to my menu. I have been lowcarbing on and off for a few years as a WOE but I found the immediate gains after the slightest of 'cheats' (read WINE) killed me and I never figured out a way around them..lol..so, decided this plan might work better for me. We shall see. Looking forward to watching everyones progress.
01-29-2005, 12:19 PM
Welcome Jane and Cindy!!!
01-29-2005, 12:31 PM
Good Afternoon all!
Just a drive by for me again today. I'll be glad when Monday is over!!!!!! I've managed to stay OP and I hope to keep it that way!
Have a great weekend!
01-29-2005, 04:14 PM
I cannot believe it is 4PM :yikes:
We went grocery shopping this morning and I got lots of things to keep me OTB (on the beach). More bell peppers, broccoli, bok choy, lots of lettuce, mushrooms, chickpeas, tahini (going to make hummus this week), frozen spinach for the breakfast quiches to go, canadian bacon. The second week of phase 1 is going to be even better than the first! :y:
I am just about to have a bowl of canned green beans for my afternoon snack. Dinner will be lf veal bratwurst and a huge salad. Oh yeah, I found ketchup sweetened with Splenda! :cheer: I can't wait to try it out! The carbs are really low and the ingredients do not freak me out. Both Heinz and Hunts have their own varieties of it. Also got some artificial caramel extract/flavoring to use in ricotta creme, yogurt, etc.
01-29-2005, 04:36 PM
Lots of excitement here this afternoon so I've not been sewing or doing much of any use, just gawking out the windows. The "lads" are ripping down the old barn that abuts our side yard and the Girls are going nuts defending us. The barn had a hole in the roof last winter and it fell in with a loud crash in November. Some of the mess is on our property so I will be glad to see it cleaned up. I will miss the old gray boards as a background for some of my plants but times change. I think I will be putting in a fence or some prickly bushes along that part of the property as April and Jake have three fairly wild little boys. Maybe I'll do an invisible fence and get zap collars for the kids.
We went out for lunch today and I had chili - not OP, I'm sure. Now I need to plan a lighter supper to balance things off. Hmmm - veggie fajitas with some Laughing Cow cheese for me and beef for Harry? I forgot to pick up tea party treats so may make cream puffs if I can remember how!
Have a super Saturday night whatever you do.
01-29-2005, 06:03 PM
It's been a busy weekend here ont he board huh? :) I am doing well, glad to see so many new faces posting! :)
I'm doing well. Having breakfast out tomorrow for the first time in a long time -- going with friends and am looking forward to it.
Have a good weekend everyone!
01-29-2005, 06:27 PM
Welcome to the Beach, Jane, Wanda and Cindy! It's good to see so many new faces.
I didn't worry about staying on plan at the district dinner last night although I only had a tiny taste of the mashed potatoes. They were instant so it was easy to leave them behind. H. Ross Perot was the guest speaker and it was so wonderful to hear about him talk about his experiences with scouting.
I made it to the gym this morning for the Powerflex class. It is the only class I have found that Ballys has that works the arms. At the end of the hour, I am just exhausted but I did do double the weight that I did last time I took the class.
Then it was off to the bowling alley for a birthday party for one of my son's friends. Now I can relax. I've started clearing out clothes. It looks like I'm going to have to get a few more bras. I got rid of all the DD's and DDD's but some of the D's are too big now. Since everything else is shrinking (and it is much easier on my back to have a smaller chest), I am just fine with being a C. Oh, sounds like the washer is done. Talk to y'all later.
01-29-2005, 07:45 PM
Hey chicks! Had an OP day. WooHoo! Sil we missed all the freezin here in Nashville. I'm pretty sure they missed it in Huntsville as well. Well mom's is full w/ my sisters and their kids. Welcome to the new chicks!
01-29-2005, 07:55 PM
Hey chicks I am poping in before bed. I had a busy day. I was up and going before 8, drop hubby off as he was in a volley ball tournment today. His team won. Then I was off to dance class. I even worked up a sweat today. My poor babies were so tired by the end of class they were not even talking. Then it was home to do house work, off to get some food, laundry and packed for the ski trip tomorrow. Then has to go pick up hubby home for supper, had a bath and now I am battling a sore throat.
Welcome to all the new chicks and a hello to all the regular chicks. Sorry the post is not longer but I am off to bed. I probably won't be back in til tomorrow night.
Enjoy the rest of the week end chicks.
01-29-2005, 08:18 PM
Good Evening Ladies~
Just a quick check in for me. I worked until 730am this morning and am going on about 4hrs of sleep, a massive headache. I did good with my 'muchies' last night. Had an apple with peanut butter as suggested. That was it!! I was soooo busy so I think that helped. No appetite today, I have eaten 1 meal, kinda, (dh said I shouldn't have even made a plate. How did he put it? ... sad.. I just couldn't eat. ) Anyway, back to work tonight am hoping for no big screw ups with being OP. Baby is sick still with a fever, I do think it's starting to break finally! I am hoping so!! Will check back in tomorrow evening probably or late afternoon. I'm hoping for LOTS of sleep tomorrow.
Have a great evening ladies!!
Welcome to you newcomers!
01-29-2005, 09:29 PM
Just dropping in really quick before watching the news at 10....That winter ice storm is supposed to be hitting us through the night...so far it seems like rain....I swear the weathermen here don't know what they're talking about...I'm supposed to work tomorrow but if it ice's over I won't be able to make it in...so who knows....a part of me wants to go and another part says no way let's have a snow day.......but we shall see...Nothing new and exciting is going on here...I went into a "natural grocery store" the other day...it was nice...granted I didn't buy anything...i just wanted a look but I'm sure I'll be back there getting stuff later on in the week maybe...we'll see...I really need to get my mind on the right track here with the diet...I dunno why I'm being so bad all of a sudden...hmm...I will get on track...I need to...hmm...Tomorrow I'm going to be on phase! I will put a rubber band on my wrist to snap it if I reach for something I shouldn't! Keep up the good work ladies!!
01-30-2005, 08:30 AM
Ruth, it IS warmer! It's -8C!! (17F)
How did the Bucco Sans Osso turn out?
And how is sweet Hershey doing? And how is your knee?
Bamie, I hope you had a nice lunch with your niece!
We celebrated my DS's birthday yesterday. We took him out with three of his little boyfriends, and they had a riot at one of those awful kiddy games places. DH and I were exhausted when we got home.
Nally, the jazzercise sounds like fun! I'm glad you've got someone to go with... it does make it easier to commit initially, doesn't it.
Thinking about you, hon... hang in there... :grouphug:
Wanda, you're having an ice storm in South Carolina!? :yikes: Be careful if you go out on the roads, hon.
Yes, Sil, today is drywall day. I can't WAIT!!! :lol3:
Hey, I'LL have lunch with you, darling! :)
How's the electrical going? My DH is getting pretty handy at it.
Cindy, welcome back!
Jane, you're doing GREAT with the exercise, girl!! :hat: Keep up the good work!!
Amy and A broad... how are you doing?
Misty, you're smart to pick up all that food. Planning ahead is the best way to succeed.
Jen, hope you had fun with your friends!! :)
Barb, don't you just hate bras!? Stupid things... I was talking to a friend about underwire bras yesterday. She was wearing one where the wire was poking her in the underarm, and I relayed a story when one of mine (the wire) "escaped", slid up the front of my shirt, and was poking me in the chin.
Little Chick, I hope you have a wonderful time skiing today!! Take care of that sore throat, sweetie. :grouphug:
Amber, I'm sorry your little love is still sick. :( I hope the fever has broken. Congratulations on choosing a good snack!!
Jess, you be careful if you go out today, girl!! And stock up on good foods... be ready!!
Me... I think I'll catch up on the laundry today as it's warmed up a bit. My basement laundry room is FREEZING during the very cold weather. I practically have to wear gloves and a coat when I'm in there.
Otherwise... renovating... you know... the usual crap. :D
Hope everyone has a good Sunday!!
01-30-2005, 09:08 AM
ROTFL about the underwire poking you in the chin!
I am having some coffee and waiting a while to WI. I feel a little bit "stopped up" if you know what I mean. I will do better on the fiber this week than I did last week and maybe that will help.
Laundry today and some cleaning. This evening there is a "spin-in" that I might go to. Sounds fun but it's a 45 minute drive away. I am also a little afraid about the "goodies" they might have there. Must make sure that I eat before going.
01-30-2005, 09:11 AM
I had great plans for yesterday but goofed off most of the day except for my two treadmill sessions. The guys pulling down the neighbour's barn worked until after dark and it's all down now. There is some old wood that will be hauled away. Suddenly the people on the main drag can see into my kitchen! I'd better stop working at the sink naked!
Off to a Parish Service at 10:30 and then I have to get some squares or something to take to the Red Hat Tea Party. Nope, the purple jacket is not finished but I did find the sleeves! We'll finally eat Osso bucco for dinner tonight with a fennel salad. After lunch out yesterday, I did not eat dinner - just hummus and veggies - while Harry had sausages and mashed. Bloody Brit!
Off to :tread:, have a quick shower and dress for Church. I'll report on any Tea Party sins later today - maybe! Note to Self: Remember the end of January is tomorrow and you want to maintain that loss!
01-30-2005, 09:55 AM
Down 3.2 pounds my first week on SBD! :cheer: :cb:
01-30-2005, 10:22 AM
Hooray for Misty :cheer: :cp:
We didnt get anything done in the kitchen yesterday: just hung out watching a few movies and keeping warm. The roads were still iced over in my area so I'm home again today. I hope to accomplish something productive today (read: complete electrical wiring in kitchen).
I WI tomorrow but TOM has been teasing me, so we'll see what shows up on the scale.
01-30-2005, 10:23 AM
Mornin chickies! Not much happenin here. Fixin to get Mom's lil pad cleaned up for her before we head out this afternoon. I'm gonna color my hair (again) before I go home. While I was here in Dec. I colored it red hot red and now I'm goin back to my more natural color of dark golden brown. I hate roots and the red was a perm color instead of semi perm sooooo. I know y'all wanted to know all of that! lol Well I better get busy although I could fit her apt. in my livingroom I want to make sure I get it all done. DS will be here at 3 and I want to be ready to go. Have a great day all!
01-30-2005, 10:28 AM
Woohoo Misty!!! Wishing you a fabulous 2nd week too!
Morning Ladies :)
I like to clean our house thoroughly on Sundays and start the week anew. I'm a flylady freak and love all of her methods. I'm sure I do more than she recommends, but I have a big house and it would never get completely clean with such small time incriments :D Anyway, that'll keep me out of the food and concentrating on my mission of the day. I'll get some treadmill time in today too. I'm starting Phase 2 today and plan to add in some grains. I'm really enjoying this WOE and so far, so good. The scale is moving downward and I'm feeling great.
Have a wonderful day!
01-30-2005, 11:11 AM
Good Morning Chickies,
Wahoo!! I made it through day one with only one tiny slip !! Hubby bake a sweet potato for me with our steak last night. He is trying so hard to be supportive, I only ate half and I am sure the world won't stop turning.
Your warm welcomes yesterday made it easy to know I have chosen the right plan for me. You really are the best group on the web, I will try to honor this support and help you and future beach buddies.
Ruth, thanks for your concern--I plan to stay in again today, church has been cancelled, I'll have a time of devotion and prayer for myself.
Barb-- You are so focused on SBD and your chart is awesome!!!Congrats.
Misty-- You are doing great and I got some great grocery store ideas, hope to make it out tomorrow.
Sil-- We are completely iced over also, I didn't loose power, but my Mom did. I have checked on her and she says she is fine and staying warm. I railroaded her into putting in some gas logs in December, in her own way she is now thanking me.
Jane--What would we do without Flylady--she so helped me get a true handle and proper perspective on housework and life. My favorite is "Housework done incorrectly still blesses your family". Not the exact quote. I am applying this also to SBD, not that I plan to slip up daily, but if I do the world won't stop. When I think about it , it has been perfectionism that has caused me to stop many a diet. I understand now that life happens and you deal with in the best way possible.
ATTENTION---Bamiegirl--- I must help you and reveal something about myself!! I teach cosmetology at our local Career Center. If you want to neutralize the red, you will need to use an ash, you will also need go a shade or 2 lighter than you think you need , because color on top of color goes darker. Think what happens when you take a crayon and color over a crayon, just gets darker. You may need 2 colors, one for the roots and one for the ends. Good luck. Let me know how it turns out and if I can answer any questions.
To all those I didn't list, GOOD LUCK this week and keep up the good work!!! Thanks to all who have posted recipes, they all look yummy and will keep me from being bored.
Hugs and prayers

Hello again ladies!
WooHoo Misty! Good Job!! :cheer:
I also love FlyLady. I have a lot of her household management ideas in my head... even if they don't always get done! I try. :)
I went to jazzercise this morning and MAN, do I feel the BURN in my legs! We did heavy legs today. I have to get to the grocery store, come home and get some laundry done, toss dinner in the slow cooker, and head out for a few MK appointments this afternoon. It is going to be a busy one!
We got a dusting of snow last night and it was a tad slippery but nothing major. All of you with ice please be careful! And remember, just because you are being careful doesn't mean that the other morons on the road are! My windshield got hit with a rock yesterday and I now have a nice little line going right down in front of my face when I drive... ugh!
Ok, I think I have babbled on enough! Have a great day!

Active... THANK YOU! It is lighter than the red. My sister is also a cosmetologist and she said that the color I got would be fine but to only leave it on about 10 minutes or it would be to dark. I don't know where you are and if they have a Sally's there but that is where I bought the color. It is the Loreal Feria line. If it turns out bad it won't be the first time! lol When I was blonde I went swimming and it turned my hair green! Now that was a hoot! I have had the color totally stripped out of my hair before as well. I used to color it alot but now that I am a SAHM I hardly ever color it and usually only do stains. I will let you know how it turns out in a few hours when I get my shower. Thank you again for your help. Now that the word is out about you I know where to go for answers when I can't get a hold of DS! lol

Afternoon everyone. :)
I'm new here and already posted a short bio on the FAQ page. I had a friend come visit from out of town this weekend. We went out to eat on Friday night to a Mexican place, and I had a small bowl of chicken soup instead of chips, salad, and panfried fish. When we went to the Chinese buffet place yesterday for lunch, I had some salad with juice from a lemon wedge and *very* small portions of jalapeno chicken, beef with mushrooms, and egg drop soup. I also had a wedge of cantaloupe and about 5 tbsp. of ff frozen yogurt. The yogurt was a cheat but I just wanted a taste of it and gave the rest to DF. I was worried that it would affect my weight but I didn't go up at all! I'm so glad I was able to eat out and not go absolutely nuts at the restaurant. :)
I'm enjoying reading about how all of you are doing and I thank you in advance for all of the support and encouragement I'm seeing on this board!

A big welcome to all the new Chicks that have joined us this weekend, and WTG, Misty!!
Sil, I did notice that you and I have the same tracker goals, and it'll be fun and motivating to see how they move! Are you doing the electrical work yourself, wow!
My DD and kids had a great time yesterday, we went shopping to get her some new clothes to wear when she goes back to work. For just having a baby she looks great, and even weighs less now than she did before she got pregnant. Some of you may remember her, she is also on SBD - Phase 3, and she went by "Highlysung". We had supper at Max & Erma's, and I had their low carb version of Chicken Cordon Bleu with broccoli and a salad, and just a coffee for dessert, so I feel really proud of myself for being able to stay OP. This morning Jake and I went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast and I had scrambled eggs with turkey sausage and tomato slices. Then we went shopping for some curtain hardware. We needed to re-hang the bedroom curtains, they're touching the baseboard heater and Jake's afraid they'll get too hot and cause a fire, so he raised the curtain rod up a few inches. And I was tired of the tie-backs with bows that I have on all the windows, they are so hard to get just right when I wash the curtains and put them back up again. So I replaced all of them with brass and iron tie-backs. A lot of drilling for poor Jake, but he was a good sport about it. I think he was just happy to get rid of the "frou-frou" bows! Thinking about what to make for supper, I have 1/2 of a spagetti squash that needs using up today or it will start going moldy if it hasn't already. Maybe I'll make a simple marinara sauce with shrimp to put over it, that sounds good. Jake won't eat it, so he'll get the leftover London Broil with a baked potato. I should go and plan out my meals for the coming week, so I'll chat with you all later.

I'm sick of telling you all how busy I am this weekend but I'm still busy. I spent the whole day today setting up for the big auction and party tomorrow. I'm feeling pretty confident about my preparations so far. Lots of last minute switching around. Shaquille O'Neal donated one of his shoes autographed. It is HUGE! I'm going to bring my digital camera tomorrow to get a picture of me holding it. It is actually going into the online auction so maybe I can get a link so you all can see it.
Diet wise I'm doing ok. Sometime on Friday my body switched to running on adrenaline (always happens before a large event) so if anything - I'm not eating enough. Trying to pump in shakes and V8's but I'm low on veggies. I'm hoping that last pound comes off tomorrow. I can't sleep and my mind is running a hundred miles an hour trying not to forget anything.
Went on a date with cutie pie again this weekend. I had a couple of cocktails (vanilla vodka and diet vernors) and we went to the movies. So far so good. Keep ya posted.
I want to say hi to all the newbies! Welcome! You've come to the right place for support and encouragement.
I'm going to work out so maybe I can sleep a little better tonight! Take care everyone. I might not have time to post tomorrow but I want to try to post my weight if there is any changes.
Bami - I'm worried about your hair! Now I have something else to worry about!
Ruth - I once made the same joke about the invisble fence and my neighbor kids. They had this wild doggie who would steal your barbequeing utensils while you were cooking and lick them.
