Default Forum question

I am trying to make it so that I see 40 threads per page and can't seem to make it work. I chose 40 threads per page and 30 days max age, in the User CP. But it doesn't seem to be taking. I have logged out and back in but no dice. Any ideas?

Yep and they are still there. Other things are going on -- the first column is now very wide (the one with the new post indicator etc). I think this is a browser compatibility issue. Sorry for bothering you.

No problem. I'll go in and see if I can fix it in your profile. The wide column thing happens to me when I first come in but rights itself.
I'm going to mess with your profile now so stand back!

Thumbs up

I changed my browser identification to Safari and it fixed the width thing (unless you fixed it). I'm on Linux and don't use a standard web browser, but it is very similar to Safari. Still shows only 20 posts per page though. I guess I will live with that unless you can figure it out.

Just looked at your profile and don't see where I can change it. I'll check with Suzanne later. I think she had an all nighter!
Interesting email addy you have there. Did you set it up just for us?

It's a little hard to explain. Part of our mail server's features (we run our own mail/webserver) is that if the part before the - is legit and the part after the - doesn't exist, it sends the mail to the person before the -. It is useful for keeping track of who is giving your address out to marketers/spammers. I know that 3FC would never do such a thing but it is just a force of habit to register to websites that way now. For instance of my address was [email protected] and I registered with amazon.com, I would use [email protected]. Then if I got an email from Joe Spammer address to [email protected] I would know the only place they could have gotten my address was from Amazon.com. Make sense?

Gotcha! We hate spammers which is why we urge people NOT to put their email addies in their posts or signature. I just go in and delete them. Your registration email is only available for MODs and ADMIN.
