Hello

I'm finishing up a few things around here today before I head back to work tomorrow. The kids don't go back to school until Thursday.

Are you doing WW? I'm so sick of feeling yucky! This time I WILL get this weight off. At night when I get into my sleep clothes, I have red marks all around my waist from my tight pants. Is that not gross??!! Let's do it this time!!! We'll be some SKINNY FLOOZIES soon!! :D

I'm so glad you are spending time with Ben. I hope you are eating him alive! Enjoy it! Can you believe Chris leaves in 15 days? I have cried for 2 days. Wow...Are you spoiled?? What a fantastic shopping spree you went on!!!

I have never had my teeth whitening either. Is it expensive? If I remember correctly, you will be gone all week. Have a nice trip, don't work too hard and post when you get home. Work better be paying you big bucks!! :D

It sure doesn't seem like we've had 2 weeks off does it? Dang, time goes by fast. Yep..I think Mom & Dad will be so excited about their party. A lot of time and money put into it but you know what? They sure do deserve it!!!! I don't regret doing it all. I just wished I had help. Don't work too hard tomorrow!

We had ice before Christmas but the last 4-5 days the temp. has been around 60-65! Just very nice! Today we have a little rain. I want SNOW!!!!!!! I love it!!!! How is little Allison? When does she go back to school? What plan are you going to be on? Counting calories seem to work for you.

I think you did awesome on the race!! Just think...There are 20 yr. olds who couldn't run like you do! They would have to call 911 if I tried!!! I'm counting WW points. The Core plan seems too strict for me. Let me know how it goes. I'll see you over at the exercise board real soon!!!!

Yes...The prednisone DOES make you gain. So please don't get upset. The weight will come off!!! Did you join WW on-line? When I get done posting I'm going to check out the prices and see if I can afford it. How are you and hubby? Have you heard from your crazy neighbor anymore?

How are you? if you're able to sit up for a few minutes will you please post a quickie? I sure do miss you!!!! Love you girl!!!

Again WELCOME!!! Would you please go to the "BIO" page and fill yours out?

Vicki & Tina....Please post soon!!! I miss you!! :grouphug:

I hope I didn't leave anyone out. If so....Please forgive me.

01-04-2005, 07:40 PM
HI Ladies!!
I have missed you all. Life got a little hectic and I wasn't online a lot. But the holidays are over and I am back!

Could one of you nice ladies remind me the name of the website where you can put in what you have eaten and it figures up if it is balanced and tells fat and calories etc. ? I know it is probably listed here somewhere but I have not found it yet.
Gotta take some time to catch up reading the posts.

School started back here today. We are going to tour a magnet school on Thursday. We are thinking of sending Austin there. I can't believe he starts Kindergarten next year. Wow how the time flies. There is only one magnet school in our county. Does anyone have any opinons on them?

I would love to be able to have my teeth whitened. I have also heard they make you look years younger. I wonder what the cost would be?

I am so hungry right now. I did really well yesterday and today up until now and now I am starving. I was trying to do lower carb. I always seem to cave when I go completely no carbs so I was trying to do more South Beach. I heard a tip on a morning show a couple days ago that said whenever you get hungry brush your teeth. Maybe if I follow that rule I will lose weight and whiten my teeth at the same time. LOL!!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Janice-Our dear Dee lives in Canada. She just had surgery a couple of weeks ago, and hasn't been able to post much. Please watch for her posts. She is such a treasured friend to all of us. It sounds like you have very much in common with all of us here!

Dee-I hope you are doing okay. I expect to see you soon over at the exercise thread walking up a storm again! I miss you so much!

Debbie-Keep up the good work! I hope you are able to make it to the Y this week!

Sherry-I really think Core is too restrictive. I have been okay today, but I am having some white rice at dinner, so I'll have to count those points.

Doni-How have your points been today? Let us know how you're doing.

Carol-How have you done today? I expect to see you over at the exercise thread at least once per week!!

Cheryl-Thanks for joining me with your walking. You are doing wonderful!

Sherry-Thank goodness, the next 3 days are half days for the kids. We still have to be there, but it's always nice when the children leave the school early. I was able to get caught up on my bookkeeping for the few days that I worked with nobody there, but it's getting back to normal, you know--doing everything and everybody else's work!

Vicki, Tina and Jennelle-Come back and post! I miss you all!

Gayle-Are you back to normal yet, or are you painting up a storm again??

Love to All!

01-04-2005, 08:10 PM
Tina, try

I'll be back later to post to everyone. We are having a major ice storm.

01-04-2005, 08:15 PM
Tina-I didn't realize we were posting at the same time, and I stopped for dinner. Try That may be what you are looking for.

Gayle-I hope you are all okay!

01-04-2005, 10:03 PM
Tina!!!! You're back!! :cp: :cb: I have really missed you and often wondered how you were. Now let's get this weight off once & for all!! I don't know about where you live but here in Nashville to get into a magnet school you have to pass a test to get in. I think they are wonderful and there isn't as many kids in each classroom, therefore I think they learn more. Again...Glad you're back. :)

Gayle...Are you ok with the ice storm?????!!!!

01-04-2005, 10:18 PM
Wanted to share this WW soup recipe with you. I'm having it for dinner tomorrow night!!

Potato Soup :hungry:

1 bag Ore Ida O'Brien Hasbrowns (16 oz., frozen)
4 cans fat free chicken broth
1 pkg. McCormick Country Gravy Mix

Spray pan with Pam. Saute potatoes 10 minutes, stirring gently.
Add broth and bring to a boil. Prepare gravy mix according to pkg. directions.
Add to potatoes and broth. Simmer 20-30 minutes.

SERVING SIZE: 1 cup soup

01-05-2005, 02:25 AM
Sherry, the soup is good, I make it a few times throughout the winter. I use the FF gravy mix and the whole family likes it. Allison was to go back to school today, but school was canceled due to the weather. They already called school off for tomorrow too.

Shelley, you amaze me! There probably isn't very many 20-30 year olds running the race, let alone 50 year olds. Keep up the great work and do it just for you regardless if you finish first or last.

Tina, nice to see you back!

We are to have "round 2" hit tonight. We have ice EVERYWHERE! To get out my back steps, I had to take a towel and lay it down step to step, otherwise I stepped out and went sliding! Tonight we have a solid layer of clear ice on everything, by morning snow is to start, fun, fun... did I tell you guys I HATE winter???? LOL! Shelley, I will trade you right now, it's 13 degrees here. If I disappear from here, it could be our electricity will be out. A town near us already has 45,000 without electricity.

01-05-2005, 06:39 AM
Gayle-I heard on the news this morning about your ice storm. I hope you are alright. Please post again today so that we know everything is okay, provided you have electricity.

Tina-I forgot to mention--I work at a magnet school. The theme is science, technology, environment, math. Both of my girls went to it all through elementary. This year, we have gotten a huge grant to have interactive computers in all the rooms. Good luck!

Well, I got through another day on Core. I just want to see if it makes a difference in my weight or not. I was down another pound on Monday, but I actually attribute that to the fact of the long run the day before. This Monday's weigh in will be the test. So far, I have weighed everyday since and my weight has been up a pound.

01-05-2005, 11:53 AM
It's currently 9 degrees here and the snow is blowing like crazy. We have a layer of ice under the snow so that just helps out the crazy drivers that much more. LOL!
No school today here, but I'm sure they will try to have it tomorrow if possible.
Those of you familiar with schools, what is the average class size for you? Allison started out with 25 in her kindergarten class, now it's down to 21 students.

There still is a possibility we may lose electricity, I will continue to ceck in here as long as I can.

01-05-2005, 04:21 PM
Whew! Just wanted to stop in for a quick post!

I finished the first part of my exam about an hour ago (went to my hotel room for a bite of lunch). It's HARD!!! I am mentally exhausted. The first part was, I think, around 65 questions, and it took 5--5 1/2 hours to complete. The second part, which I'll take tomorrow will be around 80 questions. It'll probably take closer to all day to finish.

At this point, I have no idea how I did. I hope I at least passed today's section. Y'all keep thinkin' of me!

01-05-2005, 06:53 PM
Wanted to keep my word and check in! Our weather has taken a drastic change today too, but nothing like Gayle is having!

I hope you are all doing well today. I'm so excited about getting this weight gone for good. I'm down 4 pounds since Sunday. I know it's water weight, but hey, I'll take it! I was even good last night. We went to our favorite romantic restaurant for our anniversary and I had the steamed veggies instead of twice baked potato! Today I got the most gorgeous red roses I have ever seen. All the girls at the Sheriff's Office were green with envy! hahaha
Okay, I've got to go get ready for church. Take care and stay off the ice!!!!

01-06-2005, 02:36 AM
Cheryl, good luck with the examj, I know you will do super! Are you having a chance to see the sights too?

Ramona, I hope you and Rick had a happy anniversary!!!! You must of been a really, really, good girl this year for all the wonderful Christmas stuff and the beautiful anniversary flowers. Hmmm...on second thought....maybe you were a really, really bad girl... LOL!
SUPER JOB ON THE WEIGHT LOSS! Is Rick dieting with you?

We still have the snow and the ice, the current temp is 2 degrees, now the stuff has stopped, we just need to let it melt. Some of the area towns without electricity will not have it for up to 10 days. Thank goodness we made it through ok without any damage. Sher, I'm bagging some of this white stuff up and mailing it to you!

I'm trying to get in the dieting mode. I have one good day, then a bad and so on.
I have been depressed since Christmas because of family problems etc. Not my personal family, but dear relatives. Things just never seem to work out as I hope.

I wonder where vickster is? It's been way before Christmas since I've seen a posting from her. Anyone hear from her?

Wishing all of you well!

01-06-2005, 06:36 AM
Gayle-You WILL do it. Just take it 1 hr at a time.

I did good yesterday on Core. I am on my 4th day now. I'll see how the weighin Monday goes. I am starting to lose my bread desire. I have found a brand new board on Core. It's great. It's maintained by Kippy, a hard corer on the WW boards. If you go to the weekly points allowance board and click onto Kippy2004's profile, you can get to it. That's the only way that I have been getting to it, or I would give you the website address.

Cheryl-I feel terrible! I don't remember what kind of exam you are taking, but good luck to you!

Ramona-Congratulations on the weight loss! You are doing fantastic!

Janice-How are you doing? Please check in.

01-06-2005, 09:50 AM
Gayle my friend, if you are reading this, then I have to assume you have power. I pray that you do and that you are all safe and warm. I have been watching your weather situation on TV and I know that we have already sent crews from our state to help in restoring power. Please let us know if you are okay!

01-06-2005, 10:18 AM
I'm fine, Ramona. We had an underlayer of ice mixed with probably 2" of snow that arrived later. Right now it is a brisk 2 degrees with ice/snow coverage everywhere, last night it was -10 degrees. We didn't have the broken power lines and trees in this area like your seeing on T.V. (Thank goodness!!) My dear hubby drove Allison and I to school this morning and he is even going to try to make it back to town this afternoon to pick her up from school. I HATE driving on the stuff, plus my car is not designed for this type of weather, it slides everywhere. Thank you for checking on me! They are saying now, by Saturday, it will be in the 50's!

01-06-2005, 07:14 PM
Hello

Just checking in to say hi! Another day OP so far!!!! :cp:

Gayle....I can't believe the damage where you live! Please take care and try to stay inside so you don't fall. I can't believe the kids went to school!! Honestly here when we have snow or ice, we won't go back to school until ALL the side roads are cleared! They would NEVER let us go with what you have there! Take care!!

Ramona....Happy belated Anniversary!!!! I agree with have either been real good or real bad!!! :o (Shhhh....I think you're a little spoiled like Dee but I won't tell your hubby!) You DESERVE to be treated like a queen!!! :queen:

Dee...PLEASE post soon and tell us how you feel. I sure do miss & love you!!!!

Shelley.....A teacher said today the same thing you just posted!!!! She is doing Core and she said by her 4th or 5th day that most of her gravings left! I don't say it enough Shelley but I'm soooo proud of you!! You're an inspiration! :)

Carol....Is this cold weather affecting your arthritis? My ankle was hurting a little this morning (the ankle I broke roller skating 3 years ago...remember that?) and I'm now wondering if the older I get if it will bother me more?

Also Gayle... I forgot something....I often wonder about Vicki too. I miss her. If anyone hears from her..please tell her we need her back! :grouphug:

Debbie........How was going back to school? I dreaded it!! I can't wait until spring break now!!!! We are wishing our lives away, aren't we? I'm going to get up my nerves to talk to Wayne about a CRUISE tonight! wish me luck!! :crossed:

Cheryl....Good luck on the tests and get some rest when you're done!!!

To everyone else I didn't address: Take care...Love ya!!

01-07-2005, 06:34 AM
Sherry-We had 3 half days this week for the kids because of high school testing and Monday is a teacher duty day, then the following Monday is Martin Luther King day. WooHoo! I was told that I could take this Monday off if I want. Also, I asked for the 20th off to take Patty to get her permit then shopping. The AP said I could have lied and said that I had a dr appointment or something, but why? I always tell them the truth. Anyway, they said okay! I am so proud of you for staying OP for the past few days!

Gayle-I just love your 3fc counter. It's the cutest yet.

I had another day of doing excellent on Core. Shhhh--don't tell anyone, but I still eat the sf/ff fudgsicles, since I don't ever eat the pudding.

01-07-2005, 12:39 PM
GREAT JOB SHELLEY! YOU REACHED HE 120's! SUPER!!!!!!! You are one lean machine!!!!!

I finally had to get out and drive today, I took Allison to school and visited a couple of Hospice clients. The highways were cleared off fairly well but the regular roads are the pits. Today we are to have a small amount of sun, so hopefully it will start melting away. By next week, it is forcasted to be in the 50's again. YIPPEEE!!!!! I hate these single digits!

I didn't tell you guys, Steve (santa) gifted me with a compresser and airbrush for Christmas! I am trying to learn to airbrush and it is completely different from stroke work! I plan to eventually work into painting some T-shirts and vests.

01-07-2005, 12:44 PM
Sher, Steve and I planned to take a cruise this year, but now it looks like we will put it on hold for awhile. We need to save the money for Liz starting college, to help out if we need to. Actually the cruises are reasonable, for us, the expense came from the airline tickets and the motel lodging. A good site to check into, they have several different cruise forums setup... ALSO, I guess Walmart is now also offering cruise packages!

01-07-2005, 01:39 PM
Just popping in to say I miss you. I have no computer yet. Dez has it, hers crapped out in the middle of her exams. Hopefully we will get on this weekend.

Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers. I am still in a lot of pain. The surgery pain isna't to bad it is my leg that is painful. It isn't suppose to be. My blood pressure is really low and making me dizzy. This morning it was 78/40. I am calling the doctor to see what is up. I have homecare come in monday to friday. They get me out of bed in the morning, down the stairs, showered and make me breakfast and lunch. They are here about 1 1/2 hours. A nurse comes twice a week to see how I am doing. I am glad to be home. I am improving, I am able to walk with a walker and sometimes just my cane. My left leg is weak and it is hard to get up the stairs as my foot will not lift up the stairs. It is getting stronger though so I am hoping for a full recovery. I will be competion for all of you ladies. I am hoping to go to the YMCA this weekend. I will go to an aqua class but will probably just float around. Just being there will make me feel better. Little bit at a time and I will get stronger. I have to be better before Feb 12 because I leave for Puerta Vallarta. I am going alone the first week. Anybody want to be my nurse for the first week if I can't manage by

love you all enough sitting here, hopefully when I have my own pc I will post more

01-07-2005, 06:37 PM
Dee-I'm so glad you wrote. Your blood pressure sounds dangerous. Please, please call the dr. immediately! Can it be the medicine that you are taking would make it that low? I wish I could take away all of your pain. You are such a dear friend. Please feel better and write again as soon as you can.
I love you!

01-08-2005, 05:33 PM

01-08-2005, 07:27 PM
COOL Sherry! I can always use another book!

Dee, so nice to hear from you, but your blood pressure sounds really low... are you sure you need to be by yourself for a week? I know you are ready to get away, but maybe it would be best to have someone with you in case something comes up. I'm so sorry your recuperation is going so slow. (((HUGS)))

Hanging out today trying to get organized. LOL! It will never happen here...

01-09-2005, 02:39 AM

What happened to everyone joining Cheryl and me over at the exercise board??? Come on, ladies!! You can walk at least 3 miles for the coming week. Just do it!!

Sherry-Thanks for the info about the book giveaway. Even though I know I post that much, it does make me want to make sure that I post something everyday.

Ramona it wounds like you have a wonderful husband! Happy anniversary!

Cheryl good luck on your tests. I bet you are mentally exhausted.

Shelley you are doing great! I wish I had your will power and motivation.

Gayle there is a lady I know started airbrushing about 6 months ago. She is doing a local weekend flea market now and sometimes makes $800 a weekend!! Make me wish I was more artistic.

01-09-2005, 02:28 PM
Hello

I have been washing clothes all day! :(

Shelley....I went to flylady's site. I can honestly say that I must be a very sick person because I do everything she mentions on a regular routine! I hate clutter, I hate clutter! I never have clutter! If I don't use it or wear it...IT'S GONE!!! I also clean my baseboards weekly! See how sick I am?????You know..I could always come to the SUNSHINE STATE and help you!!!!!!! :D

Doni...I WISH I had lost pounds! OOpps...It's not me! Not yet anyways! But my weigh-in is Monday. I've been doing pretty good all week so we'll see what the scales says then.

Dee...I'm so glad you posted! I hope that you're going to be well enough to travel. If you are in so much pain are you going to go someplace? Take care of yourself. Love ya!

Hello to everyone else!! If I'm not posting much next week it's because between working and doing the last minute things for my Parents 50th Anniversary party Saturday, I'll be sooooo busy!

Love you all!!

01-09-2005, 09:11 PM
Sherry-Come on down! You don't need an invite and I could sure use your help! I can honestly say that flylady has sent no less than 8 reminders between yesterday and today.

01-10-2005, 08:05 AM
After 1 week on combo of Core and Flex, I am up 1 lb. I am going to continue this way though, since this past week it was TOM (which has been every 2 weeks for me lately.) Also, I didn't eat all my AP's this past week, which I think for me, I need to do in order to keep my metabolism up. I still like the Core WOE, since I haven't had any bread, I haven't been craving the carbs. I have been eating regular rice and pasta for dinner at night whenever Mike makes it, but I use my WPA and AP for that.

01-10-2005, 10:30 AM
Shelley, I'm sure the TOM has something to do with the weight gain. I wanted to check in today and see how you did on the weigh-in. I am POSITIVE you will reach GOAL and MAINTAIN. I can't say enough how much I admire your determination to stay on plan with dieting and exercise.

I am down 1 pound this week.

01-10-2005, 10:40 AM
Wonderful Gayle!! I can't bring myself to add the pound gained on my weight tracker, so I am going to leave it at 129.

I have off today, so I went for a 1 hr run and ran faster than my usual slow jog. I am trying to get a bit faster. Now it's time to go take a shower and then do my kitchen fling per flylady! I have already cleaned out the silverware drawer. What a mess! My sink is so nice and shiny too. I am so proud of it. Babysteps! Someday I'll be just like my cleaning idol, Sherry!!

01-10-2005, 01:53 PM
Good Morning Everyone,
I'm just trying to get caught up. I just worked two thirteen hours days this weekend. I am probably one of the few people saying Thank God Its MONDAY! I have cleaned out the fridge of all tempting foods, as I don't seem to have much willpower if its looking me in the face. This is the week I take control of my eating and start exercising again. I don't want to look like a beached whale this summer. I have a goal and I am going to do it this time.

01-10-2005, 07:04 PM
good afternoon ladies! Just ordered my new Dell PC. It will take about two weeks to deliver. Hopefully by then I will post every day. I went to see the doc today. He is going to lower my dose gradually on gavapentin ( nerve pain pill) and see if my blood pressure will come back up. We are hoping that the leg pain will not worsen. My leg is gradually coming along. I am hoping to go to aqua fit tonight and maybe one more time this week. I went on saturday. I just moved as much as I could. It was just good to be back with my friends and to party in the water.
I hope that you are all doing well. Sorry I am not able to post to each one of you. I read the posts every few days but I think of you all daily. Thanks for all the support.

01-10-2005, 08:47 PM
Hi girls

Sherry called me early this morning from the emergency room, she thought Wayne was having a heart attack. Well it did turn out to be one and they did surgery around 2.00 this afternoon. Me and James just came from the hospital and Wayne came thorough it great. Sherry is staying at the hospital until visiting time is over, so not sure if she wil feel like posting tonight or not. Just wanted to let you girls know what was going on. Please pray for Wayne and Sherry, we love them so much.

01-11-2005, 12:42 AM
Thank you so much Deb for letting us know! My goodness, Sherry and her family have been having a rough time of it. I will keep Wayne in my prayers and I wish him a speedy recovery. If you hear anything at all, will you please post and let us know?

01-11-2005, 06:44 AM
Debbie-Please tell Sherry that she and Wayne are in my prayers. Thank you so much for letting us know. You are a wonderful best friend to Sherry and a wonderful cyber friend to all of us!

Dee-I hope you get your computer soon. I miss you so much. I am glad that you are able to go to aqua exercises. When you get your computer, please post your aqua exercises on the exercise thread. I really miss having you to exercise with!

Janice-Thank you for posting your bio. You fit right in with us Floozies!

01-11-2005, 09:12 AM
