Happy New Year!!!!!
I hope everyone had a great New Year's Eve, even if it was staying at home and watching TV.
We had planned on going to a movie after we ate seafood. We were both so full and relaxed that we came home and did absolutely nothing!
For anyone new to this thread, we are a fun loving group who follow some form of WW. We used to all weigh-in on Thursdays (hence the name of the thread) but now weigh anytime during the week that's possible. Please come post with us.
I made resolutions this time.......and plan on keeping all. One is to lose 10 pounds!!!!!!! Anyone with me????

Happy New Year to you too!!!!!!!!!!!!
NYEve was nice. We stayed home and ate shrimp like we've done for years. Tim went to Jessica's and was home by 12:30. Bob had to work this morning, so even though we were invited to different places for the evening, we chose to stay home.
Just returned from my classroom. I was there for 2 hours, and I still didn't get everything finished that I wanted to. My plans are ready for Monday, and I ran off handwriting homework papers for the month. Since the copier room was open, I may go back and run off some math timed tests after supper tonight. It's much easier to do when there is no one around.
Resolutions: More exercise!!! (like some!!) I haven't weighed, but I"m sure that I have more than 1 or 2 pounds now to hit -50. Hitting the big 50 will be my first goal. (the 50th pound, not the 50th birthday, in May) I know I can lose the weight, I just need to get back to it. May jumpstart myself with the South Beach again. That got me started last year.

I really want to keep the loss going this year. I may keep on the ww program but go to tops meetings for the support. It really is getting expensive to go to the meetings.
I went for a ten minute walk on the treadmill tonight, the last time I tried it was 5 minutes and I barely could do it, so I guess losing 60+ pounds has made a difference.
Happy New Year to you all.
Ladies I know we all have it within us to succeed.!!!

Just stopped in to wish everyone a WONDERFUL 2005! I hope this year brings everyone much happiness and success. My biggest resolution is to get back OP and get to 199. I just want to get to one-derland, then take it from there. Have a great day......Sis :D

Mimi, way to go on the treadmill!! 10 minutes is great. Keep it up!!
Sis, I can relate with getting to one-derland!!! Let's do it!!!
I think going back to school tomorrow (icky poo) will help me get back on a schedule in the food area. This being home and able to grab stuff needs to stop. lol

Hi All,
Mimi, ditto what Tammy said.
Sis, I have no doubt that you will be below 200 in no time.
It sounds like we are all resolved to lose.
Susan, how was Pat's band?
My husband has tomorrow off (holiday for New Year's) and after that, I'll get back to an exercise schedule and healthy eating. I need to eat more fruits and veggies and no fat/no cholestoral stuff. :dizzy:
Everyone have a good Monday.

I want to join you for you weigh in!!!! I am starting WW this week and cannot attend the meetings because of work. I thought that I would join the Online WW and try to meet with some of you here if you don't mind. I'm sweet!! (but not fattening) :coffee: I was in WW in the mid 80'sand lost @ 40 pounds. I kept it off for a while, but , well......a-hem.....you know.. :( anyway...hope to see you Thursday. I really need your help. I think I will try the core diet rather that the flex....anybody have anything to say about that? There was not a choice the last time I was on WW.

A big welcome to our new members!
Shadow , I understand about keeping it off for a time and then........:)
You are at the right place. We will be happy to support you along your way.
wafra66 - welcome to the group. Where in TX do you live? That makes three of us--Susan is also a Texan.
If y'all don't mind, tell us a little about yourselves
I had a healthy bagel for breakfast this morning. Since Larry is off, we are taking it easy. Maybe we'll get a Subway for lunch. I still have ham left from Saturday. Okay, it's not the healthiest thing but I've got to get rid of it. :)
Tammy, I hope you make it okay at school today.
Susan, how are you doing? How was the band the other night?
Sis, maybe we should form an exercise group. It would encourage me to stick with my exercising.
Mimi and Maureen---I know very little about Canadian weather. Will it get worse before it gets better?
Today, I'm putting away all the Christmas decorating odds and ends. I don't enjoy this part.
Have a good OP day!!!!!

Well let's see. I am married, have a 17 year old daughter. She is a junior in high school. We live just northeast of Houston. I am a resource teacher (I teach computer in elementary school) and am taking some classes at the local college at night. Today was supposed to be an workday for me, but DD had surgery (wisdom teeth) and I'm home taking care of her. She's still loopy from the meds! :dizzy: I ususally go to meetings on Saturday. It's really hard to make a weekday meeting with work, college, and other assorted activities.
Well off to check on DD. Have a great afternoon! :D

Tina: Yes it will get worse before it gets better, almost all of our snow is gone this week we are having a mild week at about freezing +2 to -2 all week.
wafra; welcome, I have a 17 year old son and a 21 year old son. They both had their teeth out this year $$$(ouch) I hope your daughter feels better soon.

Welcome to Shadow and the new Tina!!! Hooray!! More people to keep us motivated and keep our sanity!! (maybe)
I survived the first day back! The kids were so subdued, it was almost funny! A couple though were right back to the mouthy stage that they were in when school started in the fall. I guess 2 weeks was too long with their parents and their lack of discipline in the home. Oh my!!
Hey new Tina, I have a son that is soon to be 17. Maybe we could fix them up. Umm, I don't think Tim's girlfriend Jessica would be very happy if she read that! Tim had his wisdom teeth out a year ago. Lot's of fun. Not.
Mimi, I am so proud of you going to it on that treadmill!!!! I keep thinking that I need to get out there and do my treadmill, but here I sit. I guess I could do something after I get off of here. (nap????)

:flow2: Well, I am also married, live in the sunny south, (not too far from Memphis)...and I am a Social Worker and Activity Director for the Psychiatric unit of our hospital. I have a daughter who married about 4 years ago and just blessed us with a beautiful baby boy last October. I LOVE this new part of my life, but somehow....everything has hit me all at once. You know, the age thing, and now the weight...What's a girl to do..LOL.
I play the piano, flute, clarinet, viola, got a floor harp for Christmas (don't have a clue how to play it yet) and ladder...(<-----ask me about that one sometime) and dabble in art. I used to list cooking as a hobby, but I am beginning to think that's not such a good hobby for me.
When I came home for lunch today...I signed up for the WW Online thing. I went to the grocery store after work and bought some of the foods I found listed. Coca Cola is going to be my biggest withdrawal problem. I started weaning off today and have a "classic" headache. I will begin the program tomorrow since I didn't have a clue about the foods to get. A friend of mine at work has been on WW for almost 1 year. She has lost over 50 pounds. She is on the Flex plan. I had said earlier that I planned to go on the Core, but since I see her EVERY day, and she is SO knowlegable about the plan, I decided to go with that. I can always change it later.
I guess I have rambled enough. I appreciate your warm welcome and look forward to your encouragement. In fact, I BEG for your encouragement. I might even pay for it...LOL...j/k
See you soon!!!!

Mimi congratulations on the treadmill exercising. I'm getting on mine tomorrow morning.
Tammy I'm glad you had a good day.
Shadow, congratulations on your grandbaby. Hmmm....I want to hear about that ladder.
We are sooooo glad you are here! Do you indulge in just Coke Classics or also Diet Cokes? Diet Cokes are my downfall. This week, I'm going to get down to just 1 a day.
Tomorrow I start towards my resolutions.

Coke Classic. I can't stand ANY kind of diet drink. I suppose I will resort to iced water w/lemon or plain coffee. One thing I will look forward to is not having to take any kind of prevacid or rolaids or tums....yeah, that's ONE thing...LOL.
I'll tell you about the ladder tomorrow. Too sleepy to type now...G'nite y'all.
Yesterday was tough getting back on plan. I was running around getting things done for DD. Today she is feeling much better. The meds they gave her made her sick. So today, I hopefully can get back on plan and eat healthier. Yesterday was to much snacking and not enough good stuff in the house. Gotta get to the grocery store! :o
Have a great day!

We are expecting colder weather tonight too. We've had rain for the last 3 days. I'm ready for it to stop! Yuck!
I've been exercising HARD at Curves. It sure feels good. Now to get the food part going right. It's at least doing better.
Tina, if you want to clean some more... come on up! We would make it fun.
Tina2, you've done great on your weight loss. Going over by 2 points isn't bad at all. It's much better than not staying op at all. You can do it.
Shadow, that withdrawal is a killer! Once you get past the first couple of days it gets much easier.

The wedding was fun, didn't get home until almost 12:45 am. It was absolutely the most beautiful wedding and reception I've ever seen. My friend said, "I couldn't have made it through it without you" I find that hard to believe! (She was the one with breast cancer a couple of years ago) We've been through alot together.
Tina2, glad your daughter is feeling better. I know it hurt having your wisdom teeth out. My brother is a dentist so I always say "if you hurt me I'm telling Mom."

Hi all! This is the first I've been able to get on-line since earlier in the week. After our 2 feet of snow, we had flooding, then we had rain, and more flooding, and then an Ice storm! There are still people in the area without any power at all. We had our electric blink a few times, but never completely lost it. The server we have was done with all of the problems. It really is a mess here. There are power companies from 10 different states trying to get everyone back with power. I'll have to read messages later.

 Wow..Tammy...that sounds like a real bummer. We were in an ice storm a few years back...no electricity for 11 days....had to live like pioneers during that time. Your creativity really kicks in during times like that. Our house is planted in the middle of full grown trees whose branches would snap like tooth picks and hit the ground without warning. My husband was going from window to window the first few days, and there was a cat in heat outside the window while our male cat inside was moaning and dancing the hokey pokey trying to get to the cat outside. I don't know which was worse, my husband or that darn cat.
Anyway....Be safe!!
Now that I'm coke-free...I mostly drink water. Sometimes with a little lemon and sometimes "straight". I'm brave, arent I... . I am also drinking sugar-free cherry koolaid.. it's pretty good.

Susan, I just read an article in the paper about Curves. It is so tempting to join again, but I honestly don't think that I'd be able to do some of the machines. I just hurt too much. I guess I'll stick with the treadmill, bike, and healthrider here at home. I'm glad you had fun listening to Pat's band. Tell him to go on the road and come to Ohio.
Scrubbing floors really becomes you Tina. Come to my house and I'll take pictures of you cleaning mine. We can post them on the forum!!!
Tina2, good for you on any exercise at all! A little bit is better than none.
Shadow, keep coming here!!! It's a great group.
And Tina, we aren't older, we are better.
I'll have to look and see if I see any trucks from Texas around here. I know I've seen NC, SC, and GA. I really haven't been out and about too much. I'm afraid that I'll fall on the ice again. That's what started all my problems last spring! Hey! Maybe if I fell, it would knock things back where they are supposed to be. Good idea????
My carpal tunnel surgery is Jan. 20. I really need to get on the ball about getting things ready for a sub. I'll be out 12 days. The girl who will be my sub will do a great job.

Ya'll are too funny!
Shadow, I scared myself too!!! It really opened my eyes.
Tina, I can't wait to see my progress either. :)
Mimi, I bet it was a great feeling seeing the new you! You are doing great!
I had a good food day yesterday. I stayed within my points. :D I have to tell you about my lunch... I got one of those flavored tortillas, put a little fat free cream cheese, turkey, cucumber and lettuce, rolled it up and it was yummy!!!! I think I'll have that again today. It was so filling.

Ooooh, Susan, that lunch sounds so good that I think I'll try it. I've never had a flavored tortilla, though. I'll have to see if we have any at my grocery. I'm going to get the ingredients for the 0 pt. veggie soup. That stuff is also filling and really helps me lose.
Everyone, have a great day!

I went to the virtual model too! Put in my beginning weight, then the weight I am now just to see the change. My gosh! I've done better than I thought!! lol Still have a ways to go until I hit the goal weight, but I think I feel better about myself! Just because I saw that model lose weight. lol I can't see it in myself, except my clothes are bigger.
I am heading to bed. Bad pain day. It has been raining all day. More flooding expected. I want sun and a nice day. SOON!!!

Its icy out this morning so I am staying home until 11. The lectures were great yesterday, the first one was using a balance ball. I am going to buy one soon, you get exercise just sitting on it and I can do that pretty good. ;)
Seriously, I could do the moves that they were demonstating, the balls are good because they suit all levels of fitness.
The evening lecture was about being realistic with resolutions, and how to relax and use imaging to see our final outcome. The main message was DON"T QUIT!!!!! keep trying. Those that are most successful have used that above all else. and also to realize that we are all human :?: and are not perfect. Very enjoyable and I am looking forward to the rest of the lectures.

Hi,
My food has been good for the past 2 days. I even went for a 2.5 mile walk yesterday with some friends (that's including going to Curves) It felt real good.
Tammy, I'm sorry that you hurt so much. I wish there was something they could give you to make it all go away. Get some rest!
Mimi, sounds like the lectures were great! Glad you enjoyed them.
Today is Pat's birthday. Not much planned. He has requested chicken and dumplings for dinner. That will be an easy meal to fix.
Now off to take the dog to the vet and get the staples out of her ear.

Hello.
Mimi, I wish we could all go to those lectures. They sound very inspiring. It's good to hear that we're all human with flaws!
When I tried the Monday meetings, the leader would say that over and over.
Sis, how's your weather today? What kind of exercise are you able to do right now?
Maureen, we miss you! Don't just read--post!
Susan, :bravo: for all that exercising. Just remember you could gain some muscle weight.
Shadow, keep up the good work with your losing.
Tina2,I hope your daughter is back to feeling normal now.
Tammy, are you getting anxious about the surgery? Get all the rest you can beforehand.
I just ran across a blueberry muffin recipe in my National Heart Assoc. Cookbook. one muffin is 2 pts. I'll try it and let y'all know if they are worth trying. If so, I'll post the recipe. I've got some blueberries in the freezer. All I need is some applesauce. Maybe I can make them today.
We are in for some cooler weather, starting tomorrow. It will be near freezing for a couple of nights. I know, I know, poor me. :o I'd rather have my nice warm, weird weather. Now that I've written a book, I'll go exercise.

Mimi, glad you enjoyed the lectures. Keep us posted on other things you learn.
Susan, you are doing great with Curves!!! Happy Birthday to Pat!!
I wish I didn't hurt too. Today was worse than yesterday, and it was warmer and the sun actually came out. I took some pain med. after school and slept for a couple hours. I feel a little better, but not much.
Tina, I am ready for the surgery. Both arms have been aching, and it is getting harder to grade a stack of papers. Good thing I have small classes!! lol I think I've been overdoing it. It's the end of the 9 weeks, so I'm trying to get things finished. Also trying to get plans and papers ready for the time that I'm out. 12 days isn't long, but it sure is a lot of planning. I'm sure the girl that will be subbing for me will do a great job. She subbed for me earlier in the year, and I know that she is aware of some of the challenges in my classroom.
Time to go grade papers!

Wow ;) , I can't believe that we are already on 5 pages on this thread. We are a chatty group this month.
I just had some of the best things..... Quaker Stixs (they are like rice cakes but in stick form) They are delicious and I think are going to be my new favorite snack. 31 is only 2 points and they are very filling. I'm working very hard on staying within my point range. I just wish I was a the end of my weight loss journey and not so far from it. Oh wellllllllllllll! :dizzy:
Tammy, I'm sorry that you hurt so much! I wish we could make it all go away.
Tina, ready for the cold? They are saying it's not suppose to get as cold until Monday night.
Tina2, how is your daughter feeling?
Mimi, been to anymore lectures? Do tell.....

We are talkative this month. Maybe it's because it's a new year and we all feel like we're starting fresh. .......or something like that
Susan, I'll have to try that snack.
It sounds like you are really OP.

MMMMM muffins can you email me one?
Plus 14 to minus 10 today truly weird weather we are having, maybe that earthquake wobble is affecting our weather too.
Maureen I hope you are staying warm.
Susan did your dog get her ears docked or surgery for a hematoma? How did the chicken and dumplings go it sounds like a great winter meal.
Tammy, good luck with your surgery you may have to type one handed for a while.
It takes 3 days to blow up the exercise ball I can hardly wait.
No lectures for 2 weeks, next week I have a work lecture on pain control and comfort measures for the dying. Now doesn't that sound cheery!

Good Morning! :coffee:
Well I had a great week so far. I managed to get to water aerobics twice this week. :strong: It's nice to have a friend who goes too. She motivates me....basically bugs me to go, I can't say no (stuborn dutch! I'm also married to a dutchman!).
Next week the stress starts. I am starting the college classes. I don't know what to expect from the Geology class, hopefully not too much homework. But the bonus is the other class is my PE class - I'm taking bowling! :D I'm gonna get exercise in no matter what!
My DD is doing great. It's almost like she never had anything done. Thanks Susan for asking.
Well, gotta get ready for work. It's only a half day today for the kids...noon dismissal because of parent teacher conferences. Since I'm only a resource teacher, I don't have to deal with them. But I have lots to do in the computer lab.
Everyone have a great day!

Tina2, I took bowling in college and loved it! I bowled on a league for about 12 years. We had so much fun.
I'm getting some walking in, and I've done the HealthRider a few times. I've been so achy with all of the weather changes that we've had. That has to be the reason, not that I'm getting older!! lol
I'm so glad that it is the weekend. I have grades to get finished for the 9 weeks, plus I am getting things ready for the sub for the 12 days that I'm off from school. I'm sitting here with the math book beside the computer, but I've been reading messages and playing games instead of typing up plans for the sub! I am so dedicated!

Tammy good luck with the class schedule. Hey did you know

that was on a Japanese trivia show that Dan and I watch just thought it was so cool.
Have a good weekend everyone. I am working this one.

Hi,
My in laws are here for the weekend. They haven't been up since the funeral. Have NO idea what we are going to do. :)
Mimi, 2 of my dogs got into a fight. One ended up having to have 3 staples in her ear and her leg chewed up. The other last her last K-9 tooth (she lost the other a while back). It's WAY too cold up there for me!!!!!!! Maybe in your pain lecture, you can get some tips for Tammy.
Tina2, I was a resource teacher too. I loved it when we didn't have anything do to do on staff development days. It was like they always forgot us. I could use that time to catch up on paperwork. :)
Tammy, I could always find something to do instead of grading papers or lesson plans. It's even worse when you know you have to do it for when you are going to be out. Too bad subs can't just come in a take over without all of the extra work it causes you.
Tina, I want that recipe too! I'm sure the muffins were yummy.
Well, Miss Klutz twisted her ankle yesterday stepping on the ledge in the garage. I actually thought I broke my foot. I'm still not positive I don't have a crack. If it still hurts on Monday, I'll go see my doctor.
I found the new WW cakes and muffins at Walmart. The little chocolate iced ones taste like ding dongs. They could be dangerous!!! :dizzy:
Better go, I hear people stirring.

I'll need to look for the WW cakes and Muffins! Yummy!!!
One of these days, I'll be getting back on program. Maybe if I'd go to a meeting, I'd get myself psyched up for it. But, maybe not. lol

This stinks! I just wrote a long reply and it's not here.
Oh well, Susan, I hope you can stay off that foot/ankle some this weekend. Did you know your company was coming?
I didn't make that muffin recipe after all. It called for wheat germ! Now, If anyone uses wheat germ, I'll be happy to post the recipe. I didn't make them.
Stay warm. Maybe this brief reply will get through. :)
Tammy
01-15-2005, 12:57 PM
Tina, I used to use wheat germ when I was making bran muffins all the time. Haven't made them since we moved to this house in '99. Maybe it is time for me to make some of those with the Splenda Blend. Trying to wean Bob from the sugar gradually. His sugar levels have been pretty high. He dropped his monitor, and he thought it wasn't reading right since the levels were so high (over 200 all the time, sometimes 300). I tested mine, and it was 107. The monitor works. What Bob is eating, isn't working. He started a pill for the diabetes on Monday. I hope that makes a difference, and I hope he decides to start eating better.
I hate it when I write a message and it doesn't show up here. Do you think there is a thread somewhere with all of the lost messages? Boy, would that be confusing to read or what?
Laundry is calling my name. Talk later.

I haven't tried those Shadow. I have a box of Blue Bunny sugar free fudgecicles in the freezer. They are almost gone. Love those things!
Ok. I really need to get a thingy under my messages with the weight loss thing. Instructions please. BE SPECIFIC! I'm a dingdong at computer things.

Woe! All this food talk is making my tummy grumble. I found some locally made bagels that are 1 point for a half (Cinnamon Raisin) pretty good but would be better smothered in butter and honey. (No I won't).
Home alone tonight. Mike brought his chef cookbook home the other night. I can hardly wait till he starts cooking, he is going to try to do one meal a week. Sounds good to me.
Take care all. Rest and enjoy this quiet time of year.

Hi,
Well good news, my foot isn't broken. I showed it to Pat and he said he had done the same thing several months ago and it would keep hurting for a while. It's much better already.
Tina, I did know my in laws were coming. We went to the little Trade days that is once a month here in town. It's basically a big flea market (my mother in law has always wanted to go but misses it.) Then we went to dinner for Pat's birthday. It was a fun visit. They left early this morning.
Tammy, I'll figure out how to do the thingy and email you. :)
Mimi, inivite us all when Mike cooks for you. Those bagels sound good.
Shadow, I've tried those Eclairs and they are delicious. I haven't had them in a while. Maybe I need to get some now.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Hi all. Haven't been here in a while. Work is kind of wearing me down the last couple weeks. They are starting in on 7 days a week and its really bumming me out. I value my week ends off. I won't have to work all of them but we are going to be doing this until maybe the end of March. :(
Our weather today is COLD Tina. Its about 10 degrees. Not expected to hit 20 today. BRRRR. Weight wise I haven't done to well this last week. Got to get with the program. :) Right now I can't wait till spring. I've had enough of this weather. I want to be able to go walking on the hiking trail! I feel so much better when we walk in the woods. It doesn't hurt my knees and back so much. Oh well spring will come. :)
Hope everyone has a great day.....Sis :D

Hey! How is everyone doing? I was pretty bad this weekend, but that is why I weigh in on Friday mornings, gives me a whole week to make up for what I did on the weekend. Today I am trying harder, I have had about 11 points so far today. I am saving up the rest because tonight we are going to a pampered chef party, and who knows what kind of food they will have, hopefully one of the many foods I find disgusting.
Just to introduce myself, I am Meagan and am 18. I started WW last Sunday weighing about 250. I am currently at 246, my goal weight is 125 lbs. This is a healthy weight for me because I am only 5'4. I know it will take me at the least one year to accomplish this goal, but I am willing to do it. I have joined a gym and plan to go 6 days a week. I take a multi-vitamin as well. I mainly need to focus on drinking more water, it is just so hard for me because I already have to use the rr more then normal people.
Well I guess that is it for now...

Meagan: Welcome to the group. Some of us are longer time WW and some newer. I really feel good about the program, and have been going about 9 months, I would like to get to the ones by April 1 that will be my one year WW anniversary. The water part is hard for me too as I have a spastic bladder. We are here to help each other. :^:

Howdy,
Welcome to the group Meagan. As Mimi said, there are several of us who have been around a while. We are a very supportive group and we have lots of fun. We chat about all kind of stuff.
Sis, It's just too cold there!!! I wouldn't survive. :) We've missed you. Hopefully you won't have to work all of the time.
Mimi, I'm going to add my thingy tomorrow.
Meagan, We are glad you have joined us.
Tina, what have you been up too?

Whoah! I haven't been getting any notices. Y'all have been talking without me. :(
All that talk of food has me hungry and it's time for bed. Tomorrow I'm going to get some of those Eclairs. Is the key lime pie WW, also? I have a WW recipe for key lime pie. You make it with key lime yogurt. (duh!)
Sis, you can keep that weather. For here, it's been cold all weekend. It's even cold in the house. I was going to get my exercise this afternoon by raking leaves. Nope, too cold.
Tammy, I'm thinking about you and your surgery coming up. How long will you be in the hospital? Has Susan sent you the directions for the weight tracker?
Okay, my feet are freezing. I'm on the way to bed.

Sis, I'm with you on being ready for spring. It's supposed to be below 0 again tonight. Icky.
Pampered Chef parties are always so much fun and delicious! I had one last spring when a friend of mine was just getting into the business. Meagan, it sounds like you know what you need to do to get that weight off. Good for you!
Tina, my surgery is out-patient, so I'll be home sometime Thursday late afternoon. HOW AM I GOING TO TYPE????????????????? No directions for the thingy yet, and I can't see a picture of Freeda. Wah! Is she invisible?
Today at our workday, I was able to get everything typed and ready for the sub. Everything is run off and in folders, now I just have to get the kids prepared to survive without me until Feb. 7!! Yea, right.
