Support Groups - Weighty Issues #23: Welcome to 2005!

01-01-2005, 07:06 AM
Happy New Year Ladies! With Hawaii being one of the last places in the U.S. to usher in the New Year, I thought I'd start us a fresh new thread before going to bed. At midnight I made a toast to all of us  Let's start this year off with a BANG and get some of this weight off!

To any newbies, we are a group of awesome women who support each other through the highs and lows of every day life--it's not just about weight loss, it's about LIFE. If you have something to say or need a shoulder to cry on, Weighty Issues is the place to be. Come on in, grab a chair and stay and chat a while. You'll be glad you did

*Burp* I'm with ya Julie. In a way I can't wait for this weekend to be over and the steely resolve for the New Year to set in  I just ate some crab legs then a little bread pudding for dessert.

It's been raining steadily all day. The heavy thunderstorms never materialized and the winds weren't nearly as strong as they were forecast, but still I'm glad for the rain. It washes away all that soot and stink from the fireworks.

Can't wait for all the holiday stories to start pouring in. Have a great evening girls.

I can't believe I'm still up so late.
We had a fairly quiet time on New Year's Eve. My niece and her husband came over and we played some games. We stopped and watched the festivities at midnight then went back to playing games. We finally had some birthday cake around 1am. Actually, my sis had bought an ice cream cake.

My sis left this morning, Jan 1, to go back to Calif. We both have to go back to school on Monday so this weekend is just for resting and getting ready to go back to work. Last year I had 3 weeks off for Christmas; I'd like it now. :D

Today was warm, about 65 degrees. It was a beautiful day.

My nephew (the soldier currently stationed in Korea) emailed us and said he is being deployed to Thailand to help. He's excited because he says he will be a part of history. We'll worry about him and hope he stays well.

A teacher I worked with last year was deployed to Iraq in November. He had been called to duty with his reserve unit the last 2 years, but this time they decided to send him to Iraq. It's a little closer to home when you actually know someone over there.

Have a great rest of the weekend.

I'm Back!!!!!! I have lots of stuff to do so I will post when I get a chance. I just wanted to say Hi and I missed you all!!!!!!

01-02-2005, 11:51 AM
Hey guys, and Happy New Year. I didn't get on yesterday b/c I was stick from the night b4. Oh the things we do to ourselves. We didn't go to bed until 5 AM!!!! YIKES!! I feel great today though and I am in the process of gettting the fridge ready for the big diet. Joe and I are doing the Biggest loser with our neighboors. I think this should be good. The losing team has to buy dinner at this exspensive rest. down here. That should be reason enough to stick to it.

Noelle we just drank way to much 4 years ago and partyed the night away. THe days of being younger. I don't think I could do that type of stuff again. So, we are all ready to get down to business huh? Oh yeah, I remember Anige. I saw that commercial but I didn't thnk about noticing if it was her. I will keep my eye open next time.

ANGIE!!!!! So gald to see you back. I bet you had a great time. I can't wait to hear from you and maybe even see some pics. Are you ready to get back to work since it is the start of the year? I have a feeling that you are going to get that great will back that you have and you are going to keep us all up and running. Glad your back hun.

Cal when do you have to go back to work? You have the same b-day as my dad. Cool!

Ok, my gardening show is on so I am going to run watch that. I will be back later to chat.

01-02-2005, 12:12 PM
Here are a few pics from vacation. It was colder and alot rainier than last year but that wouldnt have bothered me normally since it is alot warmer than Maine. I am looking forward to next year to go again. Only 50 more weeks!!! ;)

The first pic is Rebel wanting to go for a walk. The second one is the RV in Hanna Park at Jacksonville, The third is the beach at Jacksonville and the last is all of us.

Kempy, Did you miss the snow in New Orleans?

01-02-2005, 12:27 PM
Welcome back Angie  Did you guys get in yesterday? Love the pics. So how did mom like the trip? I bet dad is glad to have her back home. I'm glad to have you back home :)

Kempy, I was suprised but I didn't even have champagne on NYE. I was in bed by 2:30 though, and up by 7 a.m., so needless to say I needed a nap around noon  I'm keeping an eye out for that commercial again.

Cal, glad you enjoyed your b-day celebration. It's so true that when you know someone being deployed, it makes the whole "situation" of war and/or natural disasters that much closer to home. This whole Iraq war wasn't really 'real' to me until almost all of our reserve and guard troops were called up in addition to the f/t soldiers based here. The bases are deserted and we actually have to have the regular City police manning the gates. I'll say a prayer for your nephew to stay out of harms way. You know, my sisters and I were planning on visiting a nearby Thai buddhist temple today, to make a donation for the relief fund. Since we love Thailand so much, it's the least we can do.

Julie, I plan on doing Costco today--gearing up for clean eating tomorrow. I'm actually getting excited about it--getting back OP again that is (not the going to Costco part  ). I think we'll all get into a good rhythm of getting back OP again.

Well, hope everyone has a great day. I'll be back later this afternoon.

Oh Mr. Sun, Sun, Mr. golden sun, please shine down on me :sunny:

01-02-2005, 01:10 PM
Good Morning Girls

Angie, woohoo your back! We all missed you. That picture of the beach is beautiful! Actually all the pictures are great. I know coming home from vacation is alot of work!

Noelle that is so nice of you to give to the people of Thailand. I know you love it there. You have such a wonderful heart. I am so full from last night....I am so excited about trying to eat right again too.

Kempy how fun what you and your neighbors are doing. Glad your New Year's was a blast! Btw last night hubby and I watched COPS Mardi edition, boy that gets wild down there. Isn't that coming up soon?

Cal sounds like you had fun too. I bet you will miss your sister that she is on her way home now. My brother is going back to CA tonight.

Well girls I will check back later. Got to talk to hubby and see what is up for the day. Might go and pick at the driveway to get all the darn ice of it! Check in later. Julie

01-02-2005, 02:10 PM
Angie: So glad to have you back. We all missed you. This year is going to be great. We will all support each other.

Kempy: I go back to work tomorrow. I am already putting some things together for the kiddos to work on. I now they will be so happy to be back. That is cool that your dad and I share the same b-day. I had a friend in college who had the same b-day as well-what was really weird was that we not only shared the same day, but were born in the same year and had the same middle name.

Noelle: Thanks for the prayers for my nephew. We don't know yet if he'll still be able to e-mail while in Thailand, but we will hope. His sister is the one I gave the snowglobes to and she loved them. Thank you again.

Julie: I hope it warms up for you soon. I realize that there's still a couple of months of winter, but I will send you some sunshine. :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: Be careful with all that ice.

Hello to anyone I may have missed.
Have a great day ladies.

01-02-2005, 03:25 PM
Cal thanks for the warm wishes!! I think I may need to buy some ice skates for this winter....I tried it years ago and it was so hard for me. It looks so easy but it hurt my ankles so much. Usually we just go to the park ice rinks with the kids and put on our boots and bring sleds and slide around. LOL. I am craving sun and weather above sixty degrees . But I was thinking to myself I don't really want this winter to go by fast for the reason my ds will go to all day kindergarten next year :(
I am going to miss him so much. But they have to grow up. Check back later girls. Going to have baked chicken tonight. Maybe I will shred it and put bbq sauce on it and have sandwiches.

01-03-2005, 11:46 AM
Good Morning girls!!!!! I had to post this pic for you because I won that donkey. We were at Sea World and the kids just had to go spend their money at the arcade so me and Jay were waiting and saw a game where you pay $5.00 for a bucket of little red rings and have to get one to land on a bottle top. We decided to give it a try and I won on the second ring!!! hahaha I couldnt play anymore that day because there was a limit so I had to carry my donkey everywhere. I got him because he looks like Mickey. So anyways on the second day we were there I figured I would play again for Corey because he seemed to think I could do it again and I DID!!!!! The lady running the counter asked how I did it and I said I had won one the other day too and she laughed and said I was now banned from the game. She said she plays it every day while she is working and she has never got one on the bottle top. So we had two donkey asses peeking out the window of the RV all week. My niece calls me Magic Fingers now.

01-03-2005, 12:44 PM
Good Morning Girls

Angie that donkey story is so funny! I love the pic too. He must have been something else carrying him around all day, lol. You got a good throw too! Are you back to work today? Probally working from your vacation! All that laundry and cleaning out the RV.

Cherie are you back yet?

Noelle OP for today so far, was yesterday too. I might try cutting back on my sugar intake. Way to high. I hope you got everything at the store you needed yesterday. Btw have you ever seen that show Dog the Bounty Hunter? Hus and I caught an episode and we realized it takes place in HI. I just like watching it to see the beautiful flowers and everything is green.

Well hello Kempy, Cal, and everyone else. I am going to get moving today. I really would like to get some sit ups in and some sort of cardio. I am actually kind of sad because last night I met my mom and family at the airport, they were bringing my brother and sil to go back to CA. The flight was delayed of course, the airport was nuts. But at least were able to visit longer. I cried really hard, I just hate goodbyes. On the upside I got to see my football team coming home and got to shake the head coaches hand, Farve's, and other team members. Those guys are huge, you do not realize it unless you meet them in person. They were so nice and really cute too! So that cheered me up a bit. Does anyone kind of feel like the wind is knocked out of them because the holidays are over and now it is just like reality again? Good thing there are alot of good TV shows starting this month. Well sorry to ramble on. Check back later.

01-03-2005, 03:00 PM
Good morning girls. Welcome back to reality. Julie, I think you had it right when you said it felt like getting the wind knocked out of you since the holidays are over. That's exactly how I feel. Ho-hum. On a positive note, I am OK on groceries for about 2 days. I just had my breakfast and vitamins (both were something I stopped doing that led to this weight gain with a vengeance). I think I need to plan plan plan. Knowing what my meal plans are keeps my head focused instead of dreaming about all the other stuff I would like to be eating . I think I will make my weigh-in days on Saturday like before. That seemed to work. Anyway, one day at a time.

Angie "magic fingers", I love Donkey–and you got two of him! That's just a great story. I love it when neat things like that happen while on vacation. It makes up for all the cr@ppy stuff that happens ;). So you did not get to go to Disney? That sucked. I'm sure you and Jay made sure that the kids had loads of fun anyway. Next year will be Disneyland's 50th anniversary but all the Disney theme parks will be having celebrations so I'm sure you'll more than make up for it next year. Do you need a case of Febreeze? :s

Julie, Brett Favre? :T See? There is always a silver lining. Oh, and just so you know? I just started watching Dog the Bounty Hunter and i cringe every time. I kept meaning to mention it to you that if any of you were to watch it, they are definitely not representative of the people of Hawaii. Isn't he from Texas? No offense anyone . And his wife? Get outta here. I have to admit though, those druggies and lowlifes he picks up are a part of the landscape of Hawaii. Sadly the ice epidemic is by and large a huge problem here. But if you must, you can enjoy the scenery. Did you see the one he busted that guy on the beach with his girlfriend? Then his ‘other' girlfriend brings his kids to the beach to say goodbye during the arrest? Good grief! And the last thing I can't understand is why when they are pursuing someone, they talk about people recognizing them and honking their horns or waving hi to them. They say it spoils the element of surprise for the person they're hunting–well Duh? You guys are broadcasting a show, of course people are gonna know who you are. Not to mention the way they look–the hair, the clothes...that's like me walking down the street in Wisconsin in a hula skirt looking for bail jumpers

Cal, sorry! I turned my phone off during the weekend. I didn't want to be bothered w/work so I just left it in the car. I just got your message this morning! I will PM you my home number so I don't miss you again. Sorry! I think our time difference is 2 hours. You know, I had no idea that Alaska was only an hour ahead of Hawaii time! Heh, shows you how much I know about geography.

Does anyone know if Cherie is back from her ski trip?

Well, hello to Summer, Kempy and anyone else I may have missed. I have to get some work done. I'll be back later.

01-03-2005, 03:53 PM
Noelle I really did have to laugh my you know what off when you would come here and look for bail jumpers in a hula skirt. Bring an extra skirt for me . We would just have to wear long johns and winter boots, oh my god can you imagine what we would look like? haha....we would be the ones getting arrested I think . I am laughing so hard right now....just the thought of it. Whats with all the leather? No I missed the one with the guy on the beach. He reminds me of Hulk Hogan. Yeah last night I was star struck! Well gotta run. I have to go get myself some tylenol for this splitting headache I have right now. I hope I am not coming down with anything.

01-03-2005, 08:25 PM
Hey guys. I hate that I can't get hee until almost the end of the day now. I would have been home earlier but I got called be for an appointment. You know I am going to run back for that one.

Noelle and Julie I have never seen that show b4. I havn't been watching much of anything but home improvement shows. I will have to keep my eye out for it.

Julie it does get crazy in the Quarter during Mardis Gras. We aren;t going to go this year b/c Joe is in a wedding and they planned it for the Saturday that we usually would go. It is probabaly a good thing though. I am getting too old for that stuff. :D

Angie that donkey is HUGH! It is so funny looking. I bet it was funny seeing it out of the RV. Joe and I watched a show on HGTV last night about RV's. Holy Crap these things were $1.5 Million. I couldn't believe that there where things on wheels that cost that much. Did you happen to catch it?

I started to record my food in Fitday again today. I hope to keep myself on track this time. I looked at one of the reports that they do of my weight change over a year and I can truly say that I am sickened by what I have gained. Oh well, I can't change the past just the future so I am going to work on it now.

01-04-2005, 12:18 AM
Hey Ladies! I am back... got back into town late last night.. today, I've been trying to unpack the girls and I (I got them back this afternoon) and doing laundry. Tomorrow I go back to work, not ready for reality yet.. but I guess it will be OK.

I'll post more later.. I had a great time, it was beautiful there... I ate way too much... I fell and hurt my shoulder a bit, it should be fine, just injured an old injury, and we are making plans to go to Wolf Creek in Febuary for the weekend to ski some more! :D

Anyway... I need to get back on track.. after seeing my Skiing pictures... I feel like a fat cow. I'll upload them to shutterfly tomorrow and post the link so you can see how beautiful it is there!

(((HUGS))) I missed you all! Noelle.. I like that car.... did you get something NEW for XMAS???????

Talk to you tomorrow!

01-04-2005, 12:12 PM
Hello Everyone.. it's my Monday, and I am still trying to get back in the swing of things here. I am going to start back on my diet on Thursday. I can't weigh in until then, so I figured that would be a good time to jump back into that as well.

Here are my pictures from my trip. It was beautiful... but I am really glad to be home! :-)

Kempy, I hope you are feeling better! Glad you had a great trip to CA.

Angie.. I need to go look at your pictures.. I haven't had time yet.. but I am glad you are back too!

Noelle and Julie.. thanks for keeping the thread going! I missed you guys.

Cal I am keeping your family and friends in my prayers. Those two assignments would be awfully difficult.

OK Ladies... back to work here.... Time to get serious huh? :-) Talk to you soon!

01-04-2005, 02:07 PM
Welcome back Cherie! Wow, your pictures were beautiful. I've never been anywhere like that in the snow...well, I did go to Mount Hood, OR once, but it was just to have lunch at the lodge or something. The snow in the village pics remind me of a Christmas card. I know, it's probably not such a big deal to any of you, but we don't get much snow in Hawaii--unless you're at the top of Mauna Kea on the big island, but you'd still have to venture above 13K feet. *sigh* I have to let you know that your pic on the first day my first thought was "I didn't know she brought Hannah along" Honest! You look so young I thought I was looking at a pic of your daughter :) And honey, if you look that good in bulky ski clothes, you're by no means a cow. You look great and I'm glad you had a wonderful time. Sucks to have to put your nose back to the grindstone though, eh? Take care of that shoulder. Whereabouts is Wolf Creek? Oh yeah, sadly, no, I did not get that pretty black pony for Christmas. I've been dreaming about it though. It's not practical for me but still I want...

Kempy, I didn't know Fitday had those time/weight charts, I guess I haven't visited their site for so long. I looked up my weight change and let's just say that i gained what I did when I got pregnant--and I wasn't even pregnant this time! Yikes! I'm starting my 2nd OP day and I'm even more encouraged by seeing those discouraging numbers at Fitday  WE CAN DO THIS!!! I saw that RV show. Those were amazing! If I had somewhere to drive to around here I'd buy one

Julie are you feeling better today? I'm getting the 3-day before PMS headaches right now. Let's think only good and happy thoughts today :goodvibes:

Angie, are you guys back to work already? Kids back in school? I hate going back to work after a long vacation.

Well, I gotta get up and running this morning...I'll be back later. Hello to Cal and Summer  Hope to see you around soon.

01-04-2005, 02:53 PM
Hello girls

Noelle yup, headache gone, yes and positive thought today, have to be....3rd day being OP. Just have to drink more h2o!

Cherie great to see you back again. Your pictures are beautiful. Just wonderful. The lodge looks cozy and comfy. I agree with Noelle I think you look great.

Hi everyone else sorry this is short but kind of busy today. Check back later. Julie

01-04-2005, 03:25 PM
Cherie what plan are going to be starting on Thursday? The just being good plan . I am trying to do a kind of sbd diet thing. I know I ate way too much sugar and salt the last month. Well time to go drink some more water and clean up lunch. Ds had school this am, they didn't want to get up after Christmas break....along with everyone else. I wanted to say Alan looks like a really nice man. And cute too! Well just popping in. I am trying to think of something good to have for supper with no temptations. Speaking of tempations dh baked more sugar cookies last night....ugh but they are in the freezer away from me and when someone wants one I will just take them out and frost one ;).

01-04-2005, 03:26 PM
Awww Noelle... you made my day... you too Julie! :D well... to be honest here.. I don't know what I weigh.... (will weigh in on Thursday) but my 10 jeans are way too tight, so I figure I am wearing size 12/14 pants, large shirts and I am probably hitting 160 pounds at 5 foot 2 inches. SOOOOOOOOO....... I want to first get back down to 130, and then evaluate my status then. I have to be honest somewhere, and I figure I can do it here and not feel ashamed.... so I am looking forward to this new year and having all of your support!

Julie.. it was wonderful there.. I would have liked to have seen more snow.. but it was nice, the mountains were gorgeous and I got spoiled! Everything was paid for, I ended up spending 45 dollars on some Tee Shirts and a sweatshirt, and 13 for lunch one day... my friend Alan paid for everything else.... He is such a sweetheart.

Noelle.... Snow is a big deal... I hardly get to see it either... and I think it's beautiful.. watching it fall.. being out in it.. it was great. 13,000 feet? WHOA! and I thought being 11, 000 feet was high!!! Wolf Creek is still in Colorado.. their tag line is " The Most Snow in Colorado". Last year that definately was the case as we got 41 inches the weekend we were there. My sister's company has condo's there so I can get a two bedroom for three nights for 114.00. (Yes, that is ALL THREE NIGHTS!) Employee rate.. she is looking for a new job, so I am hoping I can take advantage of that before she moves to a new company!

Anyway... back to work here.... Getting geared up for the Orange Bowl tonight.... Boomer Sooners! ;-)

Talk to you all soon!

01-04-2005, 09:00 PM
Welcome back Cherie. I love the pics. Eveything is so beautiful. I agree you guy are so cute. I wish we would see snwo liek that sometimes. I think if that happened here though the whole town would freeze up. We don't know how to deal with that kind of stuff. Now let it rain and we can drive around in it all day. You would think we are all turing into fish. :D

Noelle I am on the 2nd day too. I just finished what I am going to eat today. I did just have a temptation though. i was putting up my fruit in the fridge and I saw some sour dough bread from San Fransico. I love that stuff so much. I picked it up to see if it would be ok for me to eat but I think I need to pass it up this late in the day.

Julie Step away from the cookies! At least they are in the freezer. Are you going to watch biggest loser tonight. I am all ready to start my crying. I love it though.

Angie girl where are you today? Are you lost under all of your laundry from the trip?

Well, I am going to sit my butt in front of the TV for a bit. I will try to check in later. If not I will chat tomorrow.

01-05-2005, 10:53 AM
:(( My team is a LOSER!! A Sooner Loser that is. Boy they sucked last night. I ended up going to bed during the third quarter... they were getting their butt spanked big time last night.

Guess what I got last night? A new watch! :D I went over to Alan's house and he was showing me the stuff he got for the game... etc.. and next thing I know, I have this silver box with a big huge blue bow on it. See.... when we met two and one half years ago, I had this watch.... I bought it back in 93, so it's fairly old.. scratched but still worked. Anyway... the battery died, and on our first big overnight date to Dallas, we got me a battery. Well, last week, while I was in Colorado, that battery died. He was wanting to get me a new battery, but at the time, I didn't have my watch with me, I had placed it in my makeup bag. So.... last night... I opened my present, and he said he bought me a battery. :D Just had a different watch around it. :D I was so surprised! He is a sweetheart. Either that or he was tired of looking at my old, scratched up, gold rubbed off silver watch. ;)

It's icing here... we are in the middle of an ice storm. My girls school is closed today, but luckily their day care is open. Where I am, it's not so bad (work is south of OKC) but where I live (North of OKC) all the trees were doubled over with ice, and the bridges were getting bad. Temps are going to keep dropping here so all this precip that we have been getting overnight and this morning is going to start freezing today.

Congrats to you girls that are OP!!!! Tomorrow I will start. Today, I have already bombed... with this ice, I didn't get to make my lunch and breakfast.. so I grabbed a diet coke.. and had a candy bar in my purse. Tomorrow!

Angie.... where are you? How does hubby like his new snowmobile? I was wanting to try those last week, but we ran out of time.... I think they would be so much fun!

Kempy, are you feeling better? Julie, you too? I need to go find a recap of the Biggest Loser and see what happened last night.... who got voted out??

OK... I better get to work here.. I may have to leave early and pick up the girls if it gets worse.

Everyone.. have a great Wednesday!

01-05-2005, 11:00 AM
Cherie that is so sweet. He is such a great guy. I think you should keep him :D Muarice got sent home last night but they all went home too. They have to be on their own for 2 more months and then they will weight in again live. I bet Kelly kicked their butts. I just don't think Gary is going to lose anymore weight. He is already at a low number. At least to me. I think it is going to be against Kelly and Ryan. I bet next week is going to be great to watch.

Julie I ended up eating the bread with breakfast this morning. I knew it wouldn't be so bad if I had it first thing. The scale was down this morning. I am pretty sure it is water weight but I will take what I can get.

I have an eye exam this morning so I need to get dressed. Angie I hope to see you post today.

01-05-2005, 11:05 AM
Good Morning girls! Cherie, Your pics are so pretty. I want to go to Colorado some day. Maybe during the summer though. You are so tiny and cute by the way.

Kempy, Congrats on getting on track. Did you have a nice time in California?

Noelle, Congrats on you for getting OP too. I am so proud of you guys. Sickly enough, I have been back to work since Sunday afternoon. YUCK!

Julie, How much snow do you guys have now? We came home and there was none. Jay was so mad because he wants to go riding on his snowmobile. We have a little bit now but it still isnt enough. It is cold though that is for sure.

We went and bought some laminate floor like I put in my livingroom yesterday. I am going to rip up the carpet in the RV this spring and lay that. Maybe it will remove some of the cig smoke smell. GROSS!! I know I can never smoke again after this vacation. I wanted to puke every day. We also want to take the bed out of the bedroom and put in a sleep sofa. This way there is room in there for the dogs when we leave and they dont have to be on the bed or in their crates.

I am starting my diet on Monday since I had to jump into work the day after I got home so I havent been grocery shopping yet.

01-05-2005, 11:43 AM
Good morning ladies. I had a hiccup in my OP day yesterday. I waited too long in between breakfast and lunch, then attacked a bag of flamin' hot cheetos (which wasn't even that good) with the kids in the afternoon, then some m&m's. The kids go back to school today so no more candy cr@p lying around the house. It felt like my head knew what I was doing was wrong, but my hands and mouth weren't listening. It's weird sometimes, how the 2nd day is rough. I don't feel defeated though so the positive mindset is there for me to start again today. :strong:

Kempy/Julie I caught the weigh-in portion of the Biggest Loser, when Gary surpassed Kelly by .2%. I hope she stays in too. I don't always watch that show so Im glad you guys mentioned it. Ah, the benefits of time zone difference. :D

Julie, Alan is a sweetie. Now you can think of him all the 'time', get it? Sorry, I couldn't help it. Be careful out there! Ice on the roads sounds so scary to drive in. Be safe. The scariest things we've got on the roads in HI are the giant potholes and the drivers.

Angie you are so good at redoing floors and painting, Rick could use a good hand w/his remodels. Wanna move to HI? No snow for Jay but we do have volcanoes!

Summer how is your New Year starting out?

Cal, you too.

Well ladies, gotta get a jump on this day. Michael's first day back. See ya later.

01-05-2005, 05:24 PM
Julie, I just got word from a friend that Motley Crue is adding another month of tour dates. You think Mick Mars will make it through? Oh yeah, how about that red kangaroo roaming around Dodgeville, WI? That was too funny. Where the heck did that come from? I heard they caught it about 2 hrs ago.

01-05-2005, 08:30 PM
Noelle, I asked my dh about that animal thing....I guess it was true!! Someone had it as a pet as far as I know. Come on now, what ever happend to a bird, fish, dog and a cat? motley crue coming to HI? I wonder if they are going to be in Vegas when you and Rick are going?

Oh girls I am tired. I am a cleaning freak today. I washed the sheets, quilts, dusted, scrubbed sinks, vaccumed the basement, picked up every single darn toy, made homemade chicken and gravy and biscuits from scratch. My hands are so dry from cleaning they are cracking! Ouch. Still did not get my shower curtains washed yet. Now there are brownies in the oven, I might just have one. I feel like I got a workout today between the kiddos and housework. Okay I will make it a small one. haha....
I hope everyone is having a good day. I am pooped. Check back later girls!

Hello Ladies,

Today was a 1/2 day at school (every Wed is for teacher inservice). I kind of like it, except that I'd like to leave early once in awhile. :D

We had quite a storm last night; even had a tornado warning for the area where I live (northwest part of Phoenix). We got lots of rain, hail, thunder, and lightning. There wasn't a funnel cloud, but there was rotation in the clouds. I got a picture of Ashley holding a ball of ice. As soon as I can I'll post the picture.

This morning hubby had a seizure. He hadn't had one in over 5 years. We were taken by surprise by this turn of events. He is doing better, just very tired. So far, Ashley has never seen him have a seizure; I do worry about having to tell her or having her witness one. We have never found out why he has seizures, but we know that they only happen at night. Just something to live with I suppose. :?:

Nice and sunny today. Kids at school were a little better behaved. I held the lunch detention room today; the other 7th grade teachers and I rotate the days we have lunch detention; boy, they do not like to have me for detention. I make them stand facing the wall and they have to eat their lunch that way; they are not allowed to set anything down and they have to figure out how to open their milk (or anything else) with only one hand. They also have to call their parents and tell them that they are in detention and why. I deliberately make it miserable so I don't have to see the same ones more than once or twice. So far it's working great.

Hope everyone is doing great. I'm trying so hard to eat right. I want so much to lose weight. I'm getting so down about this. My sister is thinking about the surgery, but I don't want to do that. My neighbor and I are thinking about doing weight watchers together; we both have cookbooks and she has the point cards, etc. Neither one of us can afford to join, but we can at least try the menus and do our best. I's like to go to a gym, but it's very difficult to go alone. We are planning to go to Italy for Christmas, so I have this year to lose as much as I can. I also want to feel healthier and not so tired and stressed. Hubby is supportive (for which I am grateful). He says he just loves me not my looks, but he worries about my health, even though right now I am healthy. I worry as well, not so much for me, but for Ashley. I even cry sometimes because I look at her and I think that someday she is going to be embarrassed to be with me because of the way I look. I'm so glad I have all of you to talk to. I'm sorry if I've brought anyone down. I guess I just needed to get it off my chest. (Although my chest is one place I really don't need to lose)

01-06-2005, 10:30 AM
Cal my dear don't be so down on yourself. You are a great person with a great personality! Ashley and your husband love you. FOR YOU! Remember that okay? Because you are you, plain and simple :). But I understand you want to lose weight to have energy and get healthy, you will get there, okay? And no you did not bring me down, you made me laugh about the chest thing. Its always the first place to lose for me .

Well girls it is rough weather in our state today. Some areas got up to ten -twelve inches of snow. We got about four to six. I called my ds in because my husband said before he left from work do not drive in this weather....I think we got around six inches and about one more before noon today. I feel bad because I want him to go but driving 5-7 miles which would take probally a half hour to get there is just not worth getting in a fender bender and getting hurt. But I still feel guilty, but ds is happy for a snow day. I can't believe they did not cancel am classes! Crazy what are they thinking?, they will probally cancel it on a day when there is only 2 inches :dizzy:. Check back later on!

01-06-2005, 01:09 PM
Anyone here today, lol. Well I just my scale out from under my bed, it has been there since Thanksgiving. I am so down. I was at my goal weight before or around Thanksgiving. But I have gained eleven pounds. My eyes almost popped out. I knew I had gained but thought it was only about five pounds. I am going to have to get in gear now and get control or its only going to keep going up. I am just so confused if I should just cut out carbs or just do portion control. It is hard to eat low carb cooking family style meals. Anyway its time to kick myself in the butt and DO IT! Okay had to confess!

01-06-2005, 02:01 PM
Hey guys. I am so stressed right now. We have an account that is a big oil company that we do 7 of their stores for donuts and whoopies. They are the ones that we made all the donuts for while we were on vacation so we didnt get them mad because we left them high and dry while we were gone. Well...Jay just went into the main one to get the donut count for the day and they have some frozen donuts that they just take out of the freezer and bake and glaze sitting in the case beside ours. I really think they are going to dump us and do frozen ones themselves. If I lose those accounts then I will be so out of business because that is most of my accounts(at least the big ones anyways) I am scared because we have way too many bills to make it on mill jobs.

01-06-2005, 07:12 PM
Hey guys, I'm getting so PO'd at this darn computer. Keeps closing out my windows. Just wanted to jump in and say hello  and hugs to all :grouphug:. Hang in there everybody. I'll post more later when I'm at home and my puter is not so kooky.

01-06-2005, 08:56 PM
Hey guys. Sorry so late.

Cal I think it is a good idea that you get together with your neighbor. I agree with Julie that you family loves you for you but I also understand that you want to get healthy. That is the right way to look at things. My sugestion is to take things slowly. The number one reason people fall off the wagon I think is b/c they go all or nothing on some sort of plan. i don't know about you but I have to have some cheat time for myself. I know a year or so ago I logged eveything I ate into Fitday and I lost a ton of weight. But, I was all or nothing and I lost it one day. I try to give myself a relax day, not a cheat day b/c I will eat an entire bag of cookies if I did that. Having the ability to relax makes me feel more like a person. I hate always turning away from food b/c I am on a "diet". Let us know if there is any way that we can help you get through this. This goes for any of us. I know that this is a tought thing to do. Food is just way too good tasting sometimes.

Julie I seem to be feeling better these days. i really think it was b/c of my job. I just hated it so much I was sending myself into more of a depression. Thanks for asking. You sound like you worked your butt off yesterday. I havn't had a really down and dirty cleaning day like that in awhile. I have a lady that trades out with me and she will come clean every 2 weeks. I hate to say it but I am lazy. :D

Angie I will keep you in my prayers. Maybe this is going to be the things that will let you guys move. Do you still want to move? Are you guys getting any of that nasty weather? It is so strange down here b/c it is in the 70's. Isn't it January? I hope we at least get some sort of winter. I know I don't like the cold but I love being able to snuggle with Joe on cold nights. We don't have very many of them so I have to make the best of what we get.

Hey Noelle! By the way, I love your new pic too. If I didn't want a BMW so bad I would look into getting a Mustang. I have just wanted a beemer for so long I would kick myself in the butt if I went and got something else. I will just keep saving and hopefully have one soon.

Ok, Off to watch some tv. I have no idea what is on but I feel the need to veg. It is humid down here and it is draining my energy. Chat later.

01-06-2005, 10:26 PM
Angie I will also say a prayer for you and Jay. I really hope things work out and you do not lose that account. Hugs and prayers

Kempy I worked yesterday but it is hard to say my butt is still here with me ! I don't think it made it smaller, haha....I am glad you are out of your old job and don't have to deal with "boss man" anymore!! I can tell you are much happier now, and that is just great!!

Noelle I hope your computer problems get fixed. They are so much trouble sometimes, aren't they? Oh well we need them to talk .

Well hello everyone else, Cherie, Cal, Summer. I am feeling a little tired so I am going to try and get to bed by 11:00 tonight. I made a one dish taco supper tonight. It turned out good, I found the recipe on the back of a tomato sauce can....well actually I was browning hamburger and onions for chili and had the tomato sauce out and hubby saw the recipe and wanted that instead so I made it for him. The kids played in the snow this afternoon when it warmed up to twenty degrees, they had a blast. It is alot of work getting snow pants, boots, mittens, hats and all that good stuff on though . Well tomorrow is Friday, I am so happy. Dh gets up early everyday no matter what so Saturday I can sleep in, can you believe I am excited to sleep in !! Talk with you all tomorrow. Julie

01-07-2005, 02:43 AM
Hey girls, most of you are already in bed or should be! :) It's 8:30 pm and I'm winding down. Geez I missed you guys. I was busy at work today and didn't have the time to fool w/the computer as much. That sucked. Anyway, we went and looked at the 2005 Mustang last night. No no, I didn't do anything YET. Oh man, it's such a beautiful beast. Of course I want the Torch Red GT model (V8) w/the black and red leather interior. They just came out w/a convertible too...hmmm, choices, choices. Yeah right! Rick and I are going gaga over that car but I just know it just ain't big enough for us--we're big people and Michael would be cramped in that back seat. **phhhhttttt** Dayum, I can dream can't i?

Cal, having a buddy to be accountable to is great. I love the WW plan, i can give you info on the FlexPoints thang if you want. I totally know where you're coming from w/Ashley. I have the same fears--I think we all can relate to what you're saying. Don't be so hard on yourself though, I've met you and you're a beautiful person inside and out.

Kempy, stop giving me ideas! BMW waaaaay  You can always buy one and write it off as a business expense, how 'bout it?

Angie, I think Kempy has a point. There's always a silver lining in every dark cloud. Who knows, maybe this is a blessing in disguise? Sending good thoughts for good things to happen. :crossed:

Julie, I think that when all do get to meet you can be the menu planner--you always come up with some great sounding meals! :hun: Of course, when we actually do get to meet none of us are probably cooking anything--we're partying and going out to eat (and drink) ;) I just read that the Crue will be in LV sometime toward the end of March, twice, but not when I'll be there, darn it. I just heard that there was trouble in the ranks already, something to do w/Vince Neil....hmmmm....

Anyway, my boy is refusing to go to bed so I have to go and wrangle him in. Good night ladies, chat tomorrow.

01-07-2005, 11:35 AM
Noelle that car sounds hot! I can see you cranking your tunes up and putting the top down and driving it! Yes a girl has to dream. Maybe your dream will come true someday ;). I know Vince got in trouble for saying the "F" word on Jay Leno live New Years party. ?? I think when we all meet up we will be skipping cooking and just relaxing and going out too.

Well sorry so short ds is calling me. Angie I hope your day is going better.

Cherie, are on plan yet. I screwed up again last night. Check back gotta run. Julie

01-07-2005, 12:07 PM
Okay back again....not to much to report. I am salting everything I eat like a total freak! My ankles were swollen last night it hurt to walk. I am determined to get some sort of excercise in sometime today. Just because TOM will be here in a week or so does not me I get the week off. I have to get tough, but talk is cheap so I think I am going to go now and get my excercise in NOW! I will check back later to see if anyone was here :)!

01-07-2005, 02:36 PM
Happy FRIDAY girls :cb:. Oh boy, I have this darn PMS headache again. I am drinking a plain old Starbucks Verona black coffee this morning. No fancy lattes or mochas. Just trying to cut back on the fat and cals. Maybe this caffeine will do my headache some good. I'm feeling a little grumpy but that's normal. Not doing too badly as far as eating OP. I've been fighting some temptations though. It's hard when you live in a house with a number of people and there's all kinds of junk lying around. I've dropped a few pounds but I'm sure that was just water weight from all the overindulgences but a lower number on the scale is definitely encouraging! Now to add exercise to the mix...

Julie, put that salt shaker down! I have to tell you about my sister's MIL from NY who visited over Christmas. This lady is around 75 y.o., and she was diagnosed w/breast cancer about a year or so ago. She's recovering but she's still a little frail from the treatments and whatnot. We had them over for Christmas lunch and she salted her plate–her entire plate of food with what had to be like 1/4–1/2 tsp of salt! My mom was freaking out but just said to her, ‘boy you sure do like your salt'. I felt sorry for her though, I remembered my grandma whose taste buds were shot and when she'd cook she'd hold the Morton's salt container over the pot and just pour it in. Yikes!

Anyway, just rambling as usual. Hello to everyone else! Come out and post!!!!

01-07-2005, 03:31 PM
Noelle good to see a post today , just kidding everyone I know you are busy out working! NOELLE, any loss is great, pat your self on the back, GO GIRL....I am not due for you know what for a week and all ready feeling the effects of the evil TOM. I did manage to get some cardio in this morning about 20 minutes and some sit ups with the kids hanging on me :dizzy:. I know I am crazy with salt sometimes, especially with pms, I even salt frozen pizza, crazy me!! Can you believe that? When I get my pms migraines I have a diet pop with caffeine or I will have tea or brew a pot of coffee. The caffeine really does help me anyway. Btw I am a little grumpy too, haha....poor dh just called me from work and I was kind of crabby. Now I feel bad. I might text him on his cell and say I luv ya! The poor guy does not deserve a wife who is a grouch to live with every month for 12-14 days . But he does get moody too, just won't admit it!!

Cal I forgot to ask you, how is your husband? Anymore seizures? That is really scary. I hope you are having a good week and he is okay.

Hi everyone!!!!

01-07-2005, 03:37 PM
WOOHOO Girls I am at 900 for posts!! I must be :blah: :blah: alot! Well just had to add that in. Anyone have big plans for the weekend? We just may go to an ice rink and add some sledding. I think that would count as excercise!! But I hope it warms a bit it is only around ten degrees.

01-07-2005, 04:58 PM
Hey guys. I finally made it here today.

I only had one client today but that is better than nothing. Now I am off for the weekend and Joe is home too. I think we are going to rent a few movies and veg. I love it when he feels like doing that. Then I don't feel like such a bum when I do it.

Noelle if you get that car I am coming out there. Did you test drive it? Girl where there is a will there is a way. :D

Julie I love salt too but I use that Tony's I sent you. I put it on pizza too. It is high in sodium too. But it tastes so darn good.

Angie are you ok today?

Cal how is that hubby doing today?

01-07-2005, 05:10 PM
Kempy I can't say enough about the Tony's seasoning. My dh puts it on everything. He just loves it. I do too. It was cute my dd tried some on chili and coughed a little, but she loves spicy things, like salsa and such. We used it last night on the casserole I made. He loves it on plain noodles with butter too. Now I am going to have to try it on pizza ;). Your weekend sounds nice, movies and a comfy couch!

Angie I hope you are doing okay today too.

01-07-2005, 05:19 PM
Oh btw I did some more excercise so I figure almost close to an hour of cardio. I can't wait until these eleven pounds come off! I just feel so sluggish since I have put the pounds on since the holidays. I have to just watch my portions big time. I think we are going to have salmon tonight with potatoes, coleslaw, veggies and maybe rye bread. Well going to get going dh should be home soon. Got to pick this joint up!

Oh yeah Noelle did you test drive it? I love that new car smell. My brother just bought a new mercedes benz and I would love to fly out there and have him just take me for an all day ride and go to Napa and do some wine tasting. Maybe someday, my mom and I were talking about flying out there.

01-07-2005, 05:37 PM
Vroom Vrooom....hehe I'm dreaming of my pony again. No, no test drive yet as it was at night and I didn't want to get forced into the sales office to fill out paperwork. I'm waiting for my regular sales guy, he won't pressure me as much and will let me take it for a spin.

No real plans for the weekend but I do have a cousin from Guam in town. His National Guard unit was activated for Iraq or Afghanistan (I can't remember which) and he's on a little R&R in HI. We're having the usual BBQ and poker game, yea! Not. I'll be glad to see him though, it's been ages.

Hi Kempy. A veg weekend sounds great. I just rented Anchoman (Will Ferrell)--funny! and Collateral (Tom Cruise/Jaime Foxx) weird movie but good. Me and Rick have stayed up way past our bedtimes to watch DVD's but it's a great way to have some together time--better than the movie theater too, no need for fighting off the fatty, greasy buttered popcorn! Have fun snuggling.
**So, how do you pronounce Chachere anyway? Just wondering. Any way you say it, it's great stuff.

Julie, exercise queen--you go girl. I'd like to fly out to visit your brother and ride in his new Benz too . Those are sweet.

Cal, sorry I forgot to ask about Alberto. So the docs don't know what causes these seizures? That must be scary and difficult to deal with. At least they aren't happening frequently. Sending healing thoughts. Does your school have Martin Luther King Jr. day off?

Angie how are ya doing today girl?

Cherie, how's your Friday going? Payday right? :cb:

Well girls, I've got to get back to fun. :p

01-08-2005, 01:09 AM
Hey girls, just had dinner....a Lean Cuisine chicken w/peanut sauce (it's supposed to be Thai I guess but  ), I had to add quite a bit of crushed red pepper to spice it up the way I like it. I had that along w/a Korean bean sprout salad. It's safe to say I had a good OP day. :cb: Not much in the way of exercise though. Does running around like a :chicken: w/out a head count? I will weigh-in tomorrow and see what Mr. evil scale says since Monday. I think I'm gonna make one of those weight tracker deals they have onsite...but only the one that tracks pounds lost--not the one that blares your weight :o

Cherie, you mentioned watching that Orange Bowl game the other night. Did you see that the 72K person crowd got free Disney admission tickets for this year? That's just nuts! How lucky is that?

Well, got a few things to do, maybe visit Blockbuster again and make the most of my movie pass...have a good night all!

01-08-2005, 04:01 AM
I know you're probably sick of hearing from me already :s: but I was about to watch the movie King Arthur. When I turned the TV on 20/20 was on and they had a Martin Bashir report called Obesity Olympics. Did anyone catch it? It was really interesting. They took two Ohio families who were all clinically obese and had them work w/Paul and Morgan Hamm and their Olympic trainers and dietitians for 8 weeks, I think. They lost a dramatic amount of weight, some as much as 24 lbs! It was awesome. Just thought I'd mention it in case it shows again.

01-08-2005, 08:33 AM
Good morning ladies, Happy Weekend.

Thanks for all the well-wishes for hubby. He is doing much better. Since these seizures only happen when he's sleeping, it's easier to keep an eye on him.

Noelle: We do have MLK Jr day off; looking forward to it.

I am not feeling too well so this post will be short. I went to the doctor yesterday with some intense pain in my back and something like stomach cramps. He did all sorts of tests and gave me some meds to help me sleep. (I got up at 1:30 yesterday morning and could not sleep after that because of the pain). My principal at school was the one who made me go to the doctor. Even with the meds I still have pain and did not sleep as well as I'd hoped I would. The stomach cramps were so bad that I thought I was having chest pains and that's why I went in. I may still have to go to the ER, but we'll see how today goes. Hubby doesn't work at all today so I won't have to be alone.
I'll post later and hopefully I'll be feeling better.

01-08-2005, 12:38 PM
Good morning ladies

Cal, I'm sorry to hear you're feeling poorly. Did the doc run tests yesterday? I really hope it's nothing serious. I'm so glad you have Alberto to take care of you today, you deserve to be pampered. We'll be thinking of you. Get well soon! :lucky:

Everyone enjoy the weekend.

01-08-2005, 02:46 PM
Happy Saturday Girlfriends....

Oh Cal I hope you are okay. Please take care of yourself and go back to the doctor if you need to. Were they upper back pains with stomach pains? Sounds like maybe a gallbladder attack?? I don't know, that is just me guessing from when I use to work in a clinic and having a mom that is a nurse, anyway whatever it is get well soon!!

Noelle Lean Cuisine can't fool ya thinking it is Thai, you know the real thing ;). I love crushed red pepper on pizza too. And NO I never get sick of hearing from you. Sometimes I think you all are sick of me :^:. I was so excited last night to see 20/20, I caught about the first 20 minutes and then the phone rang at twenty after nine and I was like oh great, but it was my dad and he is not feeling well and lives alone and his car broke down and needed my help next week to get it from the repair shop. So by the time I got off the phone it was almost done. I was kind upset I wanted to see it. But I had to talk to my dad, oh well. No hard feelings. Noelle great job on the OP day. You are on a roll girl, keep up the good work! I am proud of you. I like the weight tracker thing too.

Well girls housework is piling up and I should put some make up on this face and do my hair! The kids and dh went to McDonalds. I said don't get me anything. I had two eggs today. Getting hungry for lunch though. Well going to go, might head to the snow hill or ice rink. Gotta take advantage of the warm weather. Its going to be upper 20's today and lower 30's tomorrow. And next Friday the hi is -1!! Yuck!!!! Hahaha....
Hi Kempy, Cherie, Angie and Summer!

01-08-2005, 02:53 PM
Can you all believe Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt split? Oh okay enough gossip from me, lol....

01-08-2005, 03:57 PM
WHAT??? I didn't hear that Julie. I guess I need to turn on E TV.

I didn't catch that show last night. Joe and I watched Dodgball. I didn't think it was as funny as I wanted it to be. Oh well, Now I can say that I have seen it. I did see some of the 20/20 thing on GMA yesterday. It looked pretty good.

Cal I hate to hear that you were hurting so bad. It is miserable when you can't sleep b/c of something. When do you find out the results?

I hope Angie is ok. Maybe I should call her to check in on her. I know she was not very happy the last time she posted. Maybe they are busy with the RV. I hope that is all it is.

I have been pulling down Christmas lights and now I need to straighten the house. I have been OP just like you Noelle and the mean ole' scale only has a total of 1.5lbs gone since last Monday. I am making Monday morning my weight in day and I take measuerments too. Maybe I will see some more of a change then. I am not going to stop b/c of this though. Joe and I have a healthy dinner planned for tonightt so I know I will be able to stay on track. We are going to have Korean beef skewers and loaded veggie skewers. YUMMY!!

Well, the dryer just paged me so I need to get the clothers out b4 the wrinkle. Chat later.

01-08-2005, 04:20 PM
Kempy 1.5 since Monday that is great, you are doing wonderful. I think that is a great loss! Go Kempy, go Kempy go go go Kempy!! :cheer:! Julie

01-08-2005, 10:18 PM
Well just checking in before bed. I was hoping to hear from Angie today, hon I hope everything is better for you. Sometimes life is so darn hard.

Cherie are you out there?? Haha....

Kempy I know I was so shocked! I thought they were a Hollywood couple that would make it. Ya never know I guess.
Well Goodnight girls, going to watch some tv tonight.

01-08-2005, 10:20 PM
Oh I wanted to confess, I am going to start doing this everytime I over eat or eat something not OP. It is just to make me accountable for my actions. Ready....

01-08-2005, 10:25 PM
Sorry hit the wrong button before I was done, duh :dizzy:!!!!
Okay did good all day but for dinner I had fried chicken, way too many dinner rolls, and for dessert I made homemade peach crisp topped with ice cream :^:. Like I said everytime I am a bad eater I want to report. Not asking for you all to do it. But it makes me feel responsible for my actions. Okay, thanks girls.

Cal thinking of you too. I hope you are feeling better tonight. I am glad your hus is home with you.

Hi to you too Noelle.
Okay GoodNight!!

01-09-2005, 02:01 PM
Good morning ladies :sunny: What's happening on this beautiful Sunday morning? We had a severe thunderstorm warning last night, several bouts of really heavy showers and lightning that lit up the bedroom. It's calmed down for now but our backyard looks like a mud bog. Don't know what's in store for today but will check back in later.

Julie, you can confess here. I know you felt bad about your dinner last night but, mmmm girl, that's some good sounding comfort food! Oops, I'm supposed to admonish you? Just kidding  Hey, don't forget to count your exercise calories you burned--hauling laundry, mopping floors and pushing a vacuum around has got to count for exercise. Just move on and have a good OP day today. Gee, I should take my own advice !

:coach: Yo Angie! How ya doing girl? Hope you're OK. We're thinking about you...

Kempy, isn't that sad about Brad and Jen? Did you read the press release? One of the supposed issues were that he wanted to have kids and she wasn't oh man, I'd offer to have Brad's babies  But seriously, besides the fact that they looked great together, they seemed genuinely 'into' each other. Marriage is hard enough w/out all that media interference.

I felt sick watching the news last night when they reported the death of 6 American soldiers in Iraq from a Lafayette, LA national guard unit. That is devastating. First I thought of you (since you're in LA) and then I thought of my good friends and famiy that are in the guard that got called up. It could have been any of them. War sucks.

Cal, hope you're doing better!!! :grouphug:

Hello to everyone else, gotta run and get a jump on the day.

01-09-2005, 04:19 PM
Happy Sunday. I Guess. I got on the scale this morngin and it is back up a pound this morning. On the other hand Joe has lost about 8 lbs this week. CRAP!!! I know he is a man and they lose faster but this is terrible. I am the one that is walking the dogs and writting down eveything I eat. Why can"t I lose a pound much less 8? I just can't say it enough. CRAP, CRAP, Crap!!!!!!!!!! (end rant)

Noelle I can't belive there broke up. I don't think he is that hot but they do look cute together. There must have been something more to the story but I guess he will never really know.

Julie you just let us know whatever it is that you feel you need to share. If that is what it takes to keep you OP than by all means go for it. Your dinner did sound good though. hehe

I guess we are the only ones on the boards this weekend. I wonder where everyone is. I need to go take a shower. Joe and I cleaned out the garage today. I mean really cleaned it out. He pressure washed it and I wiped eveything down that was in there. I weeded through some things too. My garden area had gotten out of hand but know it is under control. Well, off to the showers.

01-09-2005, 04:39 PM
Hi Girls

Thanks for letting me confess, haha ;)

Kempy Joe lost eight pounds, WOW it is so easy for guys, they don't retain water as much as we do. I think if they eat salt they just get thirsty and pee in out! Us poor women hold on to it for a couple of least I do. Our garage needs a major pressure washing too. I should have hubby do it. But I don't want it to get icy in there. Sounds like you are getting alot done this weekend Kempy.

Angie thinking of you....

Noelle sounds like a nasty storm. I love thunderstorms but hate losing the power and mud. But I love the smell of fresh rain. You can kick my butt or admonish me if you want, haha! Trying to do better today. You know you are right we should count house work and shoveling and gardening as excercise!! Good way to look at it.

Well hubby had a craving for guess what? Christmas cookies, ugh....he loves to cook which is good and bad. Dd and him are making them. She will have great memories with her dad. She is such a daddy's girl. Well getting ready to watch the Packers/Vikings game. Maybe since one week ago I shook Farve's hand I gave him some luck, lol. Go Packers!!!! Anyone want to come over and tailgate with me? Haha... Check back later girls

Guys.. I am checking in really quick.. I don't have time to go read all the posts since last week and reply, but I will try later this week. I've had a payroll emergency, and I am scrambling to make things process right this week. In a nut shell, This week, I was to process payroll out of our NEW system, so since last payroll, I've been preparing this new system to have it ready to go. Last Thursday, we found out that Ceridian sold this new software to a no name company. We have been a Ceridian customer since 1996, and wanted to stay with them, so after some long meetings and teleconferences on Friday, we have decided to stay with our current system and start all over again researching and finding a new payroll system. (UPDATED ONE). So I have been scrambling trying to get the old system ready to use again, making all the General ledger changes and department/division/etc changes that need to be made and just making sure all my ducks are in a row. I won't be back today... and probably not til the end of this week, but I just wanted to let you know I haven't gone AWOL... just in a mini/major crisis right now with my job!

I'll talk to you all soon... oh, and BTW.. after the holidays.. I am back to almost where I started. 159.00 on the scale this morning. BLECH.

Talk soon!

Sorry I havent posted but I wasnt getting my emails so I didnt think anyone was around.

I am trying to diet today but it isnt going so well mentally. I just dont want to do it. I am at like 215!!! but I really dont care anymore I think.

We are looking into renting a storefront in Greenville(major tourist town) It is right across from Moosehead Lake so we would hopefully do well and not have to worry about dealing with accounts that will drop us with no notice. We went and looked at it yesterday and the owner has to figure out what he wants for rent and he will call us. The spot was cute. We want to put in a showcase and sell all the Maine Made gourmet foods like I sent you guys for Christmas. Noone up there really does that it is just mainly gift shops so I think it would go over nicely. It is about 26 miles from my house so we would have to commute but I cant think of anything eles to do. Plus if it took off it would be fun.

I got to go buy dog food so I will check back later

01-10-2005, 04:00 PM
Hi girls, I'm super busy right now but I wanted to say hello. I'm sneaking away to the eye doctor in a few but I will be back later. I really hate Mondays...all the people w/plumbing problems who held off over the weekend are demanding service today. Sorry Charlie, but did it ever occur to you that we might be fully scheduled already? At least the calls are coming though. Yuck, I ate too much yesterday, definitely not OP but definitely not as much food as i ate last weekend, so small victories. We had broiled steak (no BBQ since it was too rainy) and a nice baked salmon filet. I am back OP today and will try and go walking this evening if it stays dry. Don't know if more rain is forecast but the sky is a beautiful blue today.

Angie, I wasn't getting my email notifications either then this morning I get a whole slew of 'em from 4 days ago. I think they (3FC) were working on a problem w/the returned emails--like the people w/firewalls and spam blockers etc. Hey girl, your new storefront idea sounds like a good one. I'll cross my fingers for you for a reasonable rent. If it makes you feel better, I probably weigh more than you do--that's from slacking off since last March :o But I'm working on it :strong:

 Hi Cherie you busy lady. I know you'll have everything under control at work there soon. As far as weight? Well, it's a new year and we can do big things, like drop pounds that is :cb:

Kempy, men suck  I know you won't give up and it will only serve to make you more determined to kick @ss in losing weight. I can be so competitive about it. I know Rick is getting back into dieting as well and once he starts, he stays so committed I want to strangle him sometimes. Especially when I want to cheat and he just won't  Press on girl.

Julie, have you washed the hand that Brett shook yet? Your DH sounds like a sweetie with the kids. Make him eat all the cookies too.

Well, gotta run to that appt. hope to be back later! :grouphug: Hugs to all.

01-10-2005, 06:44 PM
Just here for a quick hello.

I'm feeling better. I am on medication for my blood pressure. On Friday it was 156 over 114. I went to the doctor today and it was down (though it's still high) 152 over 100. I am taking 2 medications for it. I have to have the nurse at school take my blood pressure twice a day and I write it down; I go back to the doctor next Monday. The meds the dr put me on over the weekend did help; I feel a lot better, no pain, but still very tired. I also asked the doctor about weight loss. She said to go online and check out the American Diabetes Assoc. She said that all good eating plans start with the ADA standards. I'm going to check it out. Luckily, I don't have diabetes, but maybe this way I won't have to worry about getting it.

I stayed home today to rest. Hubby actually subbed for me at school. He said that the kiddos did pretty well. He kept reminding them who his wife is.

Hope everyone has a great day.

01-11-2005, 10:54 AM
well, I flopped at dieting yesterday. I think I ate more than I normally would.

We have been playing Monopoly at night with the kids. They love doing it and it is fun. Saturday night we all stayed up til 1:00 in the morning playing it.

I am still waiting to hear from the guy about how much rent he will want for the store front. I wished he would call so I would know one way or the other.

01-11-2005, 11:56 AM
Good morning girls. I went for my eye exam yesterday and now my checkbook has a $260 hole in it! I had to order new lenses for my glasses yesterday + the cost of the exam. I wasn't expecting to pay that much plus they didn't take Visa or MC so it came right out of the bank account. ouch! And Michael's birthday is coming up next week...hmmmm, I've got to do some juggling of finances. I think I need a raise! (i would ask my boss for one but I haven't exactly been at work that often :s:

We watched the movie Super Size Me by Morgan Spurlock last night. It was funny and gross at the same time. I think I won't be eating at McDonald's as much anymore and I will have to recondition Michael on those Happy meals.

Cal, glad to hear you're feeling better. I didn't know hubby could sub for you, I bet your classes didn't act up like they might have w/another sub . I was at WalMart the other day and they had the cutest Hawaii snow globes there! They didn't have those at the store nearest to me when I was looking for them otherwise I would've chose those instead. They were a little more pricey but they are way cute.

Angie, I can just imagine you guys sitting around playing that game. That's a great way to have family time, and much better then watching TV or playing video games. So who's the tycoon in the family?

Kempy, to continue the theme of men suck, Rick spent 45 minutes on the elliptical last night. This guy's going gonzo w/his new "diet". I think it's because we're hiring a new guy in a couple of weeks-- 6'2", slim but muscular build, handsome as heck. He doesn't want me swooning after the new guy instead

Cherie, hey girl, don't work too hard! It's just work :)

Julie, what's on the agenda today? says 23 degrees in Green Bay, does that mean it's warmed up a little? *shiver*

I have to get off this computer and get ready for work. Everyone have a great day! :sunny:

01-11-2005, 03:28 PM
Hi girls don't have much time today or right now to get personal, but

Angie I hope the new store works out and you hear good news.

Kempy, how the heck are ya? Miss you during the day now that ya are working with no access to a puter. Did your Joe lose anymore yet? How about you. I believe I won't step on the scale until Sunday or after.

Noelle, Rick is trying to lose too? We need our husbands to kick our butt, huh? Mine just keeps baking and wanting those cold night comfort foods, lol.
So you got some new eye candy starting  Have fun drooling oopps I mean looking . Yes heat wave here baby at least today and tomorrow, then it may get up to one or two degrees throughout the weekend. I am so depressed I want a warm vacation.

Cherie, you busy girl....did you have time to fit in the Bachorlette last night? I think Jen made some pretty good choices.

Cal I hope you are feeling better, and how cool is that your husband can sub for you!

Well going to scoot....whats for dinner everyone? We had chili last night and I swear I melted a half a bag of cheese on my bowl. Oh well, I need the calcium. Check back later babes.

01-11-2005, 03:38 PM
Noelle, more silly talk....Vince Neil got married

01-11-2005, 03:50 PM
Julie I heard that MC Hammer officiated the wedding! Best wishes to the Chunky Monkey and Plastic Botox Queen. Did you watch Remaking Vince Neil on VH1? I only caught the tail end of it :(

I need more coffee

01-11-2005, 05:16 PM

Julie, Southwest airlines is running a special right now. You can fly to a few destinations in Florida for $49.00 one way. It is 49.00 for the flight back also. The nearest airport to you would be Chicago. Maybe you and hubby could drive there and fly down for a weekend getaway. I looked it up for me. I would have to fly from New Hampshire and it was a nonstop flight. I would love to go back so bad. If I didnt have Rebel I would throw the other two in the kennel for the weekend and go.

01-11-2005, 08:08 PM
Hey guys. Sorry I didn't come here yesterday. I got lazy after I ate dinner and I didn't feel like moving off of the sofa.

I am still fighting with my 2 pounds. I will see what the scale has to say in the morning. I am recording it everyday in fitday to see what sort of changes I have on a daily basis. I know that you can fluctuate everday but I am still curious.

Joe is still gung ho too. Just like Rick. I don't have any eye candy at work though. It is all women. I really don't care to look at them in that way. :D

Angie I hate that the flights are so cheap. We can never find fares that low when we have to fly. I think it is bull honky that they say they lower their rates b/c we never see anything lower that $350 per person. And that is no matter where we fly to. I wonder if it is b/c we have to fly out of New Orleans. Any word yet on the store?

01-11-2005, 08:47 PM
Angie, WOW those are great prices. Chicago is about a three hour drive, I would not mind the drive, as I am thinking back we drove to Chicago and went straight to Jamaica for our honeymoon almost eight years ago. But grumpy old husband said he would not want drive three hours again. Ugh, never any fun for me. Oh well my kids keep me busy enough. And I always have fun with them. Sorry if I am kind of moody. Maybe you didn't even notice . Pms, lets see putting up men's sh*t!! Haha....

01-11-2005, 08:48 PM
Hey Kempy the Biggest Loser is on tonight....don't forget I know you watch it ;)!

01-11-2005, 10:47 PM
Hey girls, I'm having an OP day so far. I'm relying on quick and easy Lean Cuisines for lunch right now...had the chicken fetuccini (sp?) and added loads of steamed broccoli to round it out. I have to confess though, last night after my BIG tossed salad w/a side of baked salmon, I had some nachos w/chili and cheese. :ink: My evil skinny sister was eating them so I had some too. What's the point of the salad huh? I ate more chips than I should have but at least I didn't make the nachos my entire meal. So, uh, just had to get that out of my system.

I'm watching The Manchurian Candidate tonight, probably after the Biggest Loser. I have no clue as to what it's about but Denzel's in it :T .

Julie AI starts in 7 more days?!! :cb:

Kempy, I'd like to use Fitday but I always end up having to input all the weird local food I eat, then I get lazy. I like the graphs though, even though I'm not exactly overjoyed with the numbers they show. We don't have cheap fares to anywhere out on this rock...although it costs about the same to fly to Vegas than it does to the neighbor island, isn't that nuts?

Ok,gotta run out of this **** hole I call work... have a good evening everyone

01-12-2005, 11:11 AM
Hey guys. I had to pull us up from the 2nd page. Shame on us.

I say Biggest loser last night and I loved it. I really thought that Kelly would win. They all did great though. I think the editors of the show did a good job keeping you guessing. My mom even watched it b/c of me. She never saw the show b4 last night but she really liked it. I know that it has inspired me to make some changes.

Noelle I found LC's on sale so I grabed a few for our freezer. I usually have to add stuff to them too. Don't kill yourself about the nachos, you can do things right today.

Julie I bet that you guys have a program at the local Chamber of Commerce to promote tourism in the city. Why don't you look into being a tourist in your own town. I want to do that with Joe soon. Maybe sometime in the spring when it is pretty out. I know that there are lots of historical tours of the Quarter and even the Cemetaries. (creepy, huh?) I bet that you can find some alone time for you guys right around the corner from you. You really dont' ahve to stay out of town to have fun. I bet just getting away from the kiddos and reconnecting with each other one night would do you guys some good. I think sometimes it takes getting out of your element to change things. Sorry :soapbox:

Angie how are you doing today girl? What is happening with that account you told us about? What about the store front. I am dying to know!!!

Well, I am off today so I can chat more but I do need to clean the house. I walked the dogs this morning and I am going to do my TaeBo a little later but the house is a wreck right now and Joe will be home this evening from out of town. I don't want him to have to deal with this when he gets home.

01-12-2005, 12:41 PM
Just popping in for a second! How is everyone on this Wednesday? I am doing pretty good.

Kempy great ideas! Thanks girl. Wasn't that a great show last night. I can't believe the self confidence they have. Gary looks great, well they all do!

Noelle, yeah....I can't wait for AI, make the winter fly by for me ;). Don't get down about the nachos, Kempy's right. Everyone slips up. That reminds me I tried some baked tortilla chips last night. They were pretty good. I tried them when they first came out and they didn't taste that great then.

Angie I hope you heard something from that guy. Waiting is so darn hard.

Cherie I bet you are still busy as a bee!

Cal hope you are feeling better.

Well girls I will check in later when I got a few more minutes. Julie

01-12-2005, 02:14 PM
Helloooooooo.....haha, everyone busy. My day has calmed a bit. The kids were calling my name every scond this am. The kids are fed their lunches and I am thinking about what to have and what to have for dinner.

Well just checking to see if anyone was here.
Summer where have you been? I bet you are busy traveling. Come back and chat when you can!!

01-12-2005, 02:20 PM
Btw I might start a diet between the Atkins and the SBD. When I did it last spring I had so much more energy. I'll see. I mean eating a cheeseburger without the bun is not so bad. Still have the onions and pickles . I know I should do a way of life diet though, something I can stick with. I am going to have to think about this. Well I might run to the bank but now it looks like freezing rain coming down so I might just stay home. I still have Christmas stuff to put away yet and organize. Check back later girls

01-12-2005, 04:54 PM
Hey all!!! How are ya all doing today?

Julie, That sucks that hubby wont take ya to Florida. I want to go back so bad but I dont have anywhere to put Rebel for a few days. My Mom has 3 Rotties and 2 of them dont really care for Rebel so I cant put him there and I dont think he would handle a kennel too well.

It is so cold here today. It was -4 this morning. We are still waiting to hear drom the owner of the building as far as how much rent he would want. The waiting sucks.

I am so proud of all of you for getting on track. I am so jealous that I cant get my big butt in gear and lose all of this weight. I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and wow, I am a big girl again. Maybe that is what I am supposed to be, I dont know.

Jay took Brit for a ride on the snowmobile tonight. Oh Julie, What are you guys paying for heating oil out your way? It is $2.20 for the credit price up here and the cash price was like $2.09/

01-12-2005, 05:00 PM
((((ME)))) Man, I needed a hug . I am so stressing out at work today. One of my guys sprained his ankle on the job yesterday, didn't report it until about 4 hours later when it started to swell up. He doesn't want to go to the dr. but I think I'm gonna have to force him to go to cover my @ss. He's a man and thus he doesn't need the doctor, but he's trying to get me to lighten up his schedule--I told him I can't do it w/out dr.'s orders. I'm not having much luck w/getting assistance with my WC insurance company and am waiting on 2 calls back. I hate this, this uncertainty. I hate not knowing exactly what to do, if what I'm doing in business is the right thing and if I'm violating any damn state or federal laws because of ignorance. I am not cut out to be an employer. I just wanna be a barrista at Starbucks.... wah wah wah. OK, enough whining for now. Wait, it's almost lunch and I haven't had breakfast yet  OK, enuff whining for real.

I missed the Biggest Loser last night. I watched some DVD's and played my Gameboy instead

Julie, freezing rain? :umbrella: I was freezing this morning and it was only 63 degrees :^: . You and Angie are a penguins I tell you, living up North there in the cold, just kidding.

Kempy, you are sooooo lucky to live where you live, with so much history and cool stuff to explore right in your backyard. I so want to go back and visit. Is the house clean yet? huh? huh?

Angie, where the heck are ya hiding girl? Did you finish laying the RV floor?

Cal how are you doing today? Have you gone back to work? Say hi to Ashley for me.

Cherie, come up for air and say hi when you can ;)

Summer, hope all is well with you

Hmmm, did I miss anyone? Hello to all anyway. Be back later when I'm done having my breakdown.

01-12-2005, 06:03 PM
I'm fighting a stomach bug unfortunately:( Keep you're fingers crossed for me that I'm not getting sick!

>>We watched the movie Super Size Me by Morgan Spurlock last night. It was funny and gross at the same time. I think I won't be eating at McDonald's as much anymore and I will have to recondition Michael on those Happy meals.

Did this movie seem far fetched to you? I mean, I saw it and thought it was funny-but it didn't really address moderation and exercise like I had hoped. What did you all think?

01-12-2005, 10:53 PM
((((Noelle)))) hugs to you :grouphug:....Its all right let it all out!!!! That is what we are here for. Sounds like you are having a tough day. You know what though, I think you are awesome at your profession. Between being a mom, wife and a business owner you got it going on girl! You always sound responsible and so organized about work. Don't be hard on yourself, okey dokey? You are always stronger than you think. And yes I think I am even walking like a damn penguin, haha....can we bring the word bloatation back? I am a bloated popsicle !

Angie we don't use oil to heat our house. But our gas/electric bill is sky high! Crazy, this weekend the high is single digits. I feel for you. Lets just move south, then we can walk and be warm all year ;). Don't be jealous of me sweetie, I ate like a piggy tonight. Did not snack though after dinner. Just water. Btw next time you look in the, you are a beautiful person inside and out. Are you going to fit in Wife Swap tonight? I am going to try and watch it.

Kempy I hope Joe made it home safe and sound. I bet you guys are cuddling on the couch with your girls!! Have a good night.

Cal hope you are feeling better. I bet Ashley is like a little nurse. She sounds like such a good girl.

Cherie, I hope your work week is getting slower for you I know you said you were going to be so busy.

Hello Summer and everyone else. I think I am going to try and make it to bed by 11:00 again. I am proud of myself I was going to bed last year probally around midnight. Next year I hope to be to bed by 10:30! Year by year and day by day for everything, right girls? God Bless you all and Good Night friends. Morning will be here before I know it :coffee:.

01-13-2005, 11:30 AM
Hey guys. I am on my way out the door but I wanted to pop in. We had a really bad rain storm this morning around 7. Joe and I were just laying in bed when he bolted out and yelled at me to do the same. We ran in the bathroom and he said that he thought a tornado was coming. I told him to run get the dogs from the garage and then we stood in the closet. (it is big enough for all of us and then some) I called for the cat and he was already under the bed. He stuck his head out and he didn't want to move. Well, when we looked outside our big heavy grills were off of the deck. Our swing was blown over onto the ground. The umbrella for the table was pulled out and in the front yard. I still have no idea where the actuall unbrella is. It is just the fram sitting in the ditch out front. There were three trees that were spun around in the green space in front of the house. They were laying on the other side of the street thankfully. I think the thing that is most upsetting is a dead tree that was in the back of our house. It had a family of woodpeckers living in it and I would see them flying around it all of the time. Well, it is now on the ground too. I can't believe that I am worried aoubt the birds. I told Joe that I hope they got out b4 it fell. I mean it was their home. When it clears up I am going to see if I can find any of them. I am just keeping my hopes up that they flew out. Of course this feeling came after I knew that we were safe.

Ok, off to work. I just wanted to tell you guys about my crazy morning.

01-13-2005, 02:32 PM
Kempy, OMG what a morning! I'm so glad you and Joe are safe and it was the woodpeckers home that got hit rather than yours. Hopefully they got out before the tree went down. Animal instincts are pretty keen (except for when they fly in front of your car). I had this image of you as Helen Hunt in the movie Twister, remember that? Whew, your story had my heart racing.

It's a gray and dreary day here, kind of like my mood. It's all work related but I'll live. I'm skipping out for an hour and a half to get my nails done. I need that relaxtion. So far so good on the OP front. High fiber cereal w/skim milk and a vitamin. I signed Michael up for swimming classes again starting next month. Hopefully he'll get through this next level :crossed:.

Julie, thanks for the hugs :). Blotation? I remember that. If you're feeling like a bloated popsicle maybe all you need is a tropical vacation to thaw out. How about it? :sunny:

Angie, ditto what Julie said--you are a beautiful person inside and out and we like you just the way you are. Has it warmed up a little for you? Did you get word about that account you were worried about?

Cherie, hope we get to chat w/ya before the weekend, but no pressure, just saying hi

Cal, how about you? Feeling better?

Everyone have a good one. Stay safe out there!

01-13-2005, 03:40 PM
Hi girls

Kempy what a nasty storm. You just never know what mother nature is going to come up with next. I am glad you are safe along with Joe and your animals. Poor little birdies in your tree....but I agree with Noelle maybe they knew the storm was coming and got out.

Noelle getting your nails done will cheer up for sure. I think Jacks made the word bloatation up, I can't remember . I'll come out by you and then thaw out and be skinny as a stick, get it? Popsicle stick!! How cheesy of a joke was that? Haha....just being goofy and trying to get you to laugh. I bet you have a great laugh in person. You know how some people just belt out a good one? LOL. Things will get better and I am always here to talk. Good luck little Michael on swimming! Does he take it at a local Y?

Angie miss chatting away with you. I know everyone's lives are crazy busy right now. Did you watch Wife Swap last night? It was so funny. Those single parent mom girls really learned alot from the experience and so did the Moose, he is not getting a little Loose.

Well I just choked down my lunch a ham and cheese. Don't know whats for dinner. Maybe chili, steaks or hamburgers....should grill today because the high tomorrow if we are lucky will be over 0 degrees, just plain nasty counting the wind chill to go along with it :p. Enough whining about my dumb weather. It could be worse like the poor people in Thailand. Going to go give the kids some attention and play, did I mention dd is almost potty trained? About darn time, but she just won't number two on the potty yet? I don't know what to do. Sorry way TMI. Haha.... Check back later girls. I am and want to do some excercises but my body is fighting me. Maybe the kids and I will crank up the tunes and dance that should burn calories. Bye for now!

01-13-2005, 11:35 PM
Good Night!

01-13-2005, 11:37 PM
Good night Julie...

01-13-2005, 11:44 PM
Well I did get my nails and pedicure done, that was a temporary respite from all this stress at work. I had to cut my nails way down too because they were getting to be a pain. I also got my teeth cleaned so they're all nice and polished up :D. Rick got home early today so we're gonna go grab a bite to eat somewhere. It seems like ages since we've gotten to eat dinner as a family so I'm grabbing this opportunity when I can. I made 30 goody bags for Michael's class tomorrow, only 27 students but I always make extra just in case. I'm sure teachers like to eat treats too--I know I would :ink:

Kempy, how's the weather holding up over there? Were you guys expecting a big storm or was it a surprise?

Julie, you did great at your BBQ, and you said no to the biscuits and brownie, good girl! Can't wait til tomorrow, TGIF! Oh yeah, Michael's swimming classes are free ones offered by the City Parks dept.

Angie girl hope you're doing great out there.

Everyone else, have a great evening.

01-14-2005, 10:12 AM
Good Morning!! Julie, I think we have your weather from a few days ago now. It is 47 and rainy out right now. The kids school was delayed an hour because we got snow yesterday and rain last night so now everything is icy. At least they didnt cancel it!!!!

I am still waiting on the rental price. Jay is going to call him today I think. The man who owns the building is the pharmacist in the town. He owns a few of the buildings. I was reading the menu from the restaurant across the street. They are the ones who started the Road Kill Cafe restaurants and then they became partners with a corporation and bought their way out of it and opened another restaurant. The last I knew the Road Kill restaurants were a franchise. Their menus are funny.

Kempy, HOLY COW!!!! I am glad you are all safe. What caused it a wind gust or tornado or what? Do you guys know? We have had some high winds but I have yet to chase my patio furniture down the street.

Julie, Great job on resisting the biscuits. I am so proud of you!! YOU ROCK!!!!

Noelle, Did you ever find out what to do about your employee? Is he okay. I hope you get some time to unwind this weekend. You deserve it.

Cal, Are you feeling any better yet?

Where is Cherie? Is she gone for the week? I feel so neglectful(is that a word? ) I havent been around as much as I should.

01-14-2005, 12:09 PM
Good Morning

Angie you are right about something you should be here more! LOL We miss you. I know you are having a hard time right now but never ever give up on something you want! 47 degrees I wish!! Right now the actual temp is -4!! So I am sure that weather will be coming your way, sorry :^:. Cherie said she could probally not check in this week. She was going to be really busy at work. "Road Kill Restaurant" what a funny name.

Noelle that is nice that the Parks offer it for free. I don't think our Parks system does that in the summer. I am glad you got some family time in. Thats great. I hope you relaxed and had fun.

Well I might do some excercising or cleaning now. I have to get moving it is so cold in here. The furnace is kicking in nonstop. Plus didn't sleep that well because dh has a cold and stop the world when a man gets sick . But really he is, he was coughing so bad at three in the morning he went to sleep on the couch. I might tell him to call the doctor. He always gets such an annoying cough, it sounds like he is screaming when he coughs. Okay I am mean , the poor guy is sick. You all know what I am trying to say though I am sure. Thank god I just heard the heat kick in again....brrrr....check back later girls. Hi everyone.

01-14-2005, 03:00 PM
Hey girls how is it going? My day is going pretty good so far, I am OP as for keeping my carb count lower. My husband said they are suppose to be coming out with a whole grain bread that provides one hundred percent fiber and vitamins....I wonder what brand, I will have to ask him. Hopefully it won't taste like tree bark. I started taking my vitamins yesterday. I feel it would be a good idea if I am cutting out some carbs or trying to. Plus my face is so dry I thought that might help too. Anyone have any exciting plans for this weekend? None here yet. I am thinking about taking the kids to Chuckee Cheese or McDonalds playland. I am not sure yet. Or maybe a movie, something indoors. Well hi Angie, Noelle, Kempy, Summer, Cherie, Cal! TGIF.

01-14-2005, 04:08 PM
OK Girlies.. I am BACK!!!! This has been **** week, but now that it's Friday... I think things are calming down. Phew... I will be ready to jump back on the bandwagon come Monday.. this weekend, I am going to relax with my sweetie... girls are going to their dad's THANK GOODNESS... and I am just going to rest and NOT THINK.

Anyway.. I've missed you all.... Now I am going to go back and read and see what I've been missing this week!

Payroll went well... only one major problem, but that is now taken care of. My office is organized and ready for 2005. I won't be such a stranger anymore!

01-15-2005, 12:23 PM
Good morning girls. I was trying to post yesterday but kept getting interrupted or my computer would eat my post :cbg:. It was rainy and dreary yesterday but that's how I felt too. But today's another day and I'm going to try and make it a good one. On the positive side, I am down another 4.5 lbs since last Saturday. Please don't be impressed, I was SUPER bloated over the Xmas and New Year holidays and TOM is just leaving so I am sure that most of the weight lost thus far is just bloatation . This next week will be the true test. I have been really watching my portions and just choosing healthier foods, plus just parking farther away from things and walking more. Simple stuff like taking the know we all know these little things that diet gurus talk about that we don't do on a normal basis  Besides, you know how it is when you lose weight, then gain it all back + 10 more? That is my 10 more :^: My gosh, I took Michael to the movies last night and ordered him a kids pack. That saved me from having to fend off a mega-bag of yummy greasy popcorn. I did have a few handfuls but nothing that would put you totally off track so I consider that a small miracle.

Julie, go to Chuck E Cheese! We're taking Michael on Monday for his b-day. I wanted to go to Dave & Buster's but he wanted to go to Chuckies so he can run around without us. We're not inviting any classmates or anything, just a couple of cousins. The one classmate he wanted to invite didn't want to go because he said he was afraid of the :mouse: . I wonder why some kids are afraid and some aren't? Anyway, if you choose the movies instead, we just saw Racing Stripes. It's a kids movie but there's some adult humor in there, just listen closely to the dialogue. Sorry to go rambling..

Cherie, so glad things are getting settled for you. I hate stress from the workplace. Enjoy your child-free/romantic weekend ;) !

Angie, hey girl you're alive! You know we miss you when you don't come around, but no pressures if you don't feel like posting...if you stay away too long some of us might have to come up there and look for you. (Hey, that's an idea). Do you have anything planned for this weekend?

Cal, hope you get some time to relax this weekend. How are you feeling? I was helping Michael do a project for school and I printed some vacation photos from Disneyland, it made me re-live those moments, especially when we were waiting for the light parade and our kids were sword fighting. Man that trip was fun!

Kempy, are you guys busy cleaning up the debris from the storm? Hope everything's alright.

Everyone have a wonderful weekend. Hope to chat w/y'all later on.

01-15-2005, 02:03 PM
Rick told me a funny one a few days ago: "Women are scary. They can bleed for days and still live."

01-15-2005, 04:22 PM
Noelle that is so funny. He sounds like he has a good sense of humor your guy. The kids went to the a wildlife center that has indoor activities and a gift shop. My mil bought dd a new coat. That was nice of her. Going to have to pick it up sometime this weekend. She has one now, but mil thought it was to small. I think it is just right, a little snug with snow pants on but that is what keeps the warmth in. Sorry I sounded like a you know what in my last post. I just had a salad with cheese and ranch dressing, late lunch. Oh well I am going to get some more cleaning in now that I have some free time.

Angie girl are you busy this weekend?

01-15-2005, 04:26 PM
One more thing....I copied and pasted this from another forum on this site. I thought is was kind of funny! I was bored last night so I was looking at other forums and messages.

I didn't me to offend anyone, because at the bottom of the joke it says pass it on to "all of your hormonal friends", I am not trying to say you guys are like that every month ;) :lol3:

01-15-2005, 05:21 PM
Hey Julie I love the things that PMS could stand for. They are so true. The only problem is for me I always want to wear my sweats. I have mine on right now. That is what I love so much about the coller temps. It is my excuse to dress this way.

I was a bad girl last night. I had McDonalds and some M&M's. So, I am not allowing any cheat foods today. I had just gotten down another .5lbs yesterday morning and I go and eat that crap. Oh well, I am trying to fix it today. My official weight in day is Monday so I still have a few more days.

Noelle I don't care if you say it is just water. It came off didn't it. I think that is a great loss. I love Chuckie Cheese. They have the best pizza. I wont go though b/c we don't have kids and I think that would just be creepy if we went to just eat pizza. We don't ahve one close now that we are in LA though. When we were in FL there was one right around the corner.

Angie how are you doing today girlie? I hope you are getting past the I am alawys going to be this way mood. I know that you have great determination. YOu will get your groove back real soon I just know that you will. We have all been friends too long to just let you talk that way. We need Gennel to pop back in here and whip our butts back into shape. i wonder why she never stuck around? I know that we talk about a lot of other things besides weight and maybe she wasn't used to that. Who know.

01-15-2005, 06:20 PM
Hey Girls!!! I am getting the storefront!!!! :cheer: He didnt up the rent from the last tennants so it is doable for us....Now to get a loan to buy some extra equipment for up there to do some baking during the day while we are there. I am happy and nervous at the same time. The last time we had a bakery I weighed 265 pounds so that makes me nervous that I will get that big again(which I am not too far from anyways) and sad that I didnt get to do this when I was at a lower weight. I am also very nervous that it will faill like the other one. But so excited for the possibilities that it could bring. Anyways, I just wanted to let you all know. I gotta go glaze some donuts and I will try to check back later. Love ya all!!!

01-15-2005, 07:02 PM
Way to go Angie? I know that you are so happy. I will keep you in my prayers for the weight thing. I know it is tough when you feel that things just arent going right in that department. I am sure that everything wqill go your way. Just keep thinking positive and you and Jay will be sucessful in everything you do!!!

01-15-2005, 09:49 PM
Hello everyone,

I am feeling better; however, I am still a little weak. My blood pressure has come down a little, but it is still high. Yesterday, it was 150/100. I go back to the doctor on Monday.

Noelle: That was a fun trip, wasn't it? I love looking at the pictures. Have I ever sent any to you? I can't remember. Happy b-day to Michael. He will have so much fun at Chuck e cheese. My niece won't go there; she's terrified of anything in a costume and especially clowns. Her b-day party is at Peter Piper Pizza tomorrow. She turned 7 on Jan 11.

Kempy: I hope everything is back to normal after that freak storm. I haven't talked to my sister in TX yet to find out if they had some of that. My brother and his family are going on a cruise out of NO in March. He wanted me to ask you what the parking is like in NO. He's hearing that it's almost non existant or very expensive.

Angie: Way to go!!!!!!!!!! I'm really excited for you. My husband's brother owns a bakery in Italy; it's Ashley's favorite place to go.

Julie: I hope it's warming up there for you. It's supposed to be 74 here tomorrow. Still cool at night (47) but the days are wonderful.

Hello to anyone I may have missed.

01-15-2005, 10:15 PM
Yeah Angie and Jay!!!!  I am doing a happy dance for you guys. I can understand you are excited and nervous at the same time but believe it will work and I will say some prayers. How exciting. I have a feeling this is going to be your year girl. Julie

01-15-2005, 10:29 PM
Forgot to get perosnal, haha

Cal I hope your bp comes down soon. I am jealous. I would take 47 degrees! Enjoy your beautiful weather.

Kempy hey girl. I was a bad girl tonight. I made homemade chicken alfredo over hot cooked noodles. It was so good, it had cream cheese, parm. cheese, garlic, mozz. cheese, cooked chicken breast and milk in it. It was a snap to make and turned out great. I am sorry Gen doesn't come around anymore either. You said maybe it is different now that we talk about other things, I can't help it and I hope you guys don't mind that I talk about my life and other things than weight because I consider you all my friends and thats what friends do is talk and gab :). Sometimes I feel guilty because I think I am babbling on to much. Oh well I hope you all don't mind. But I think we all are making an effort to lose and that is what matters. So go girls!!

Talk to you all tomorrow. Hi Noelle, Summer, Cherie, Gen and Holly remember us?

01-16-2005, 12:08 AM
Thanks everyone. I am excited.

Julie, I like that we all talk about ourselves more than weightloss. I like that I have made such great friends here and I wouldnt change the way we do it for anything.

Cal, I am glad you are feeling better.

Well, I gotta get back to Monopoly and watch Alicia kick Daddy's ***!!!

01-16-2005, 03:36 AM
Hey girls. I just got back from b-day shopping at Toys R Us. I got Michael a Mr Potato-Head silly suitcase set, and some Harley Davidson safety knee and elbow pads and gloves for his bike riding. He just learned to ride on 2 wheels last weekend. We tried to get him to learn earlier last year but he just kept falling off when he stopped. Rick took him over to the big soccer park and let him ride on the sidewalks and grassy areas last weekend. When I came home from work the other day, he was circling around the garage on 2 wheels and it just made me get a big smile on my face :) Oh man, my baby is growing up

I am so full, I had pasteles (a Puerto Rican concoction) w/lots of tabasco sauce for dinner. It's by no means low fat but we don't have them often so I considered it a treat. *burp* I better watch out for the rest of the weekend as I'm sure it'll be tough to stay OP...

Cal, glad to see you around and feeling a little better :grouphug:. I'd love to have your weather at night, I'd probably be freezing my tootsies off but I'd just love it if it cooled down just a little more...we probably get low 60's or high 50's when it's really cold here

Angie, yahoo! A new storefront sounds exciting for sure. You can even put your kids to work during the summer months! Wishing you all the best :goodvibes: I like how we all gab too, you're my girls and I wouldn't change a thing.

Julie, LOVED those PMS and chocolate funnies. I must say that on a normal basis I am #2. But the week prior I am #3  Those are just spot on. I got a WI cheese catalog in the mail today. I went through it thinking of you :) Now I'm thinking of steamed broccoli w/cheddar cheese  What's your favorite kind?

Kempy, I am guilty of buying a new pair of sweats just 2 days ago. Can you believe I didn't have any? (I threw all the rest out when I lost weight, but since it found me again, I didn't have any that fit) Congrats on your loss too :strong: It's every step down that counts for sure.

Well, gotta go wrap some presents. Busy busy. Have a good evening. See y'all tomorrow.

01-16-2005, 12:15 PM
Good morning guys.

Cal I think there might be some parking for the cruise line. I know that they board right at the convention center and if there is something going on there it is a zoo. Maybe he should call the cruise line and see what they say about their cars. I can't imagine that they would make you meter your car. I mean you would expire and and have tons of tickets by the time you get back. If they have a high rise lot they are going to have a shuttle to the boat. As far as where those are I have no idea. The casino is right across from the boat too, matbe they have spots in there for boat parking. Can you tell I have no idea?

Julie stop it!!!! I was so good yesterday I am back to pre-McDonald's weight. I was vey strict on myself yesterday. I would give anything to eat what you had though. I an going to try something new with eggplant tonight. I will have to let you know if it is good.

Angie I never thought about putting the kids to work. :D I bet they would just love that huh? You would probably never be able to keep them home over the summer if they knew they had to work. How did the Monopoly game turn out?

Noelle I have no idea what that thing would taste like but I bet it is good. Anything with tabassco on it is good. I had some on my eggs this morning. I have a problem with that stuff. Have you ever tried the green tabassco on your salad? It is really good. I know that you like hot stuff so I bet you would like it.

Well girl, today is yard clean up day. I have to pick up the tree mess from the other day. It was too wet to really walk in the yard. I am sure it is still too soupy but I have to clean up. The back yard is a wreck. I found the top of the umbrella. It was on the other side of the road from the house. It is dark brown and that is why we couldn't find it until it stopped raining. Now I have to save for another one of them. They are not that cheap either. Oh yeah, there were no birds in the tree. I went to look at it yesterday and it is empty. Now I feel better.

01-16-2005, 06:57 PM
Helloooooooo. anybody here? I guess you guys are out having a fun Sunday. Hope to chat with you soon.

01-16-2005, 09:13 PM
Hi girls sorry I have not posted all day. Was up late last night with a killer backache, yup and TOM hit me hard today, but my back is feeling better. Tomorrow is suppose to be our last day of our Canada cold spell. I can't wait to feel twenty degrees, haha.

Noelle your baby is growing up, I feel for you, I know it is so hard to watch them become more independent, for me it is anyway, I mean I am happy but sad their not babies anymore. I thought my five year was late too riding on two wheels. We will have to get him on those two wheels this spring. He will when he is ready. Our cheese is the best, I hate to brag ;). I do like marble jack, japleno cheese, and sharp or regular cheddar.

Kempy, hey girl sorry to mention my fattening meal. But I would love to have you and Joe over for some . I hope your eggplant dish turns out for you. I like eggplant parmesan. Okay here I go again, anything with cheese!! I am glad the birdies made it out.

Well probally check back before bed, Hi Angie, Cal, Cherie, and Summer

01-16-2005, 11:16 PM
Kempy: I'll pass the info on to my brother. About your umbrella; last year Lowe's was clearancing some patio umbrellas regular price $90 for only $18. We got a beautiful one. Keep your eyes open for sales like that. Glad the birds are ok; sorry you have such a mess to clean up.

Noelle: When is Michael's b-day party? Hope it's a good one.

Julie: Hope your weather warms up for you. Today, it was sunny and warm. In fact, I had to use the A/C in the car for a few moments to cool it down. Can you believe it, A/C in January???? Only in Arizona!!

Angie: How did the Monopoly game turn out? Kids working in the summer; be sure they don't form a union and ask for all sorts of benefits!!

Cherie: Hope your weekend is going great. Take care.

Hello to anyone I missed.

01-17-2005, 01:01 PM
Happy Monday Girls

How is everyone doing today? Gearing up for an OP week? I am trying, had a egg for breakfast. Before we all know it, it will be the end of April and almost summer. I still can't believe Christmas is over.

Okay Cherie, we missed you last week girl. Come and chat when you get a second this week. I bet you had a lovely weekend Alan. I am sure you guys had fun making all your great sounding dishes you like to make. How are your girls doing? Did you catch the Bachorlette last Monday? I think it may be on again tonight.

Happy Birthday Michael you little sweetheart :hb: :hb: :gift: :lucky:. Noelle and Rick you are lucky to have such a cute, outgoing, and smart boy, even though I never met your family I feel I know you guys. Anyway have a great day!

Angie I bet you are so excited and have so many things going on right now. How do you think your in-laws are going to take it? Will you still be baking for them too? My husband said if you guys get that business going, you will have to get a website up and we could all order from you! Wouldn't that be fun girls. Anything lowfat, no-carbs, and full of fiber . Just joking, lol. Wish you guys the best.

Kempy are you off today because of the holiday? My brother in CA is off. Lucky guy. Dh had to work today. I hope you and Joe got everything cleaned up from the nasty storm. I talked to my brother and he may be going to Italy for a late honeymoon. I wish! Pizza, pasta, and wine and desserts, I would be in carb heaven. Plus I heard it is suppose to be really romantic there. Cal you would know, I know you have family there.

Well hello everyone check back later today.

01-17-2005, 03:52 PM
Hey girls, happy Monday. Just vegging out at home for now. Michael's upstairs playing w/his cousins and his new Mr. Potato head silly suitcase set. We're supposed to be heading to Chuck E. Cheese probably around 11:00 or so...I crashed and burned on the OP eating yesterday. We went to D&B and I ordered this Mediterranean grilled chicken sandwich which was so good, if you ate a half order you'd be okay. I ate about 3/4 of the sandwich plus the ceasar salad which had way too much dressing. We had a good time though, but I just feel sluggish today. I can't wait for tomorrow to come when a routine comes back into play.

Julie, thanks for the b-day wishes, you're a sweetheart. I know what you mean about feeling like we know each other so well, I feel the same way about you guys. Wow, an Italian honeymoon sounds so romantic. All I know of Italy is what I've seen in the movie Under the Tuscan Sun . Loved that movie BTW. I guess if we want to explore Italy we'll have to tag along w/Cal and she can show us around.

Cal, I've got the fan blowing on me right now. It's a muggy 74 degrees right now. I think we're supposed to get more rain but there's absolutely no breeze to speak of.

Kempy, I haven't tried the green tabasco on salads yet, that's something I will do though. Have you seen the supposedly 'hot' habanero tabasco? It's not even hot. I guess I have a really high tolerance to what hot is. :flame: Are you workng today?

Angie, what's happening today girl? I saw it was -18 degrees at Bar Harbor! I know you're not exactly in that area but stay warm! I'd love to see your new storefront. How soon do you guys think it'll be ready to roll?

Cherie, do you have today off as well? Enjoy it wherever you are.

I gotta run and pick up the house a little. Be back later.

01-17-2005, 10:23 PM
Hi girls just checking in to see if anyone else has posted....guess not . Well I am going to watch the rest of the Bachelorette. Have a good night everyone.

01-18-2005, 10:44 AM
Good Morning! I am back. I am sitting here with my oatmeal, and I am about to go make some ice water. Yum... breakfast of champions. :D

Julie... what are you thinking about the Bachelorette? There are no guys that have jumped out at me that I really like. The ones making the impressions are the ones she is kicking off... for good reason, they are coming on a little strong with the I am so into you thing.... I do like Jerry only because he is a cutie.. but other than that... well, I can't stand Fabrice.. and have heard he is an actor... there really isn't anyone that is making this season watchable...

Noelle.... I have the habanero tabasco and it a little warm, but like you.. it's not HOT... however, I made some salsa over the weekend, it was our third attempt at doing this recipe we like, and this time we upped the jalapenios from 3 to 5 and instead of using fresh habaneros, we had purchased this habanero extract, and used 2/3 a tablespoon. OMG... this stuff turned out soooo freakin hot!! It will be great to use with queso, but by itself, I am afraid that we can't share this stuff with our friends, cause even for me, I can only eat a little... so next batch, we will add two more cans of crushed tomatoes to the mix, and I think that will tone it down just a hair.

My daughters still have training wheels on their bikes too.. I am going to try to wean Hannah off them this summer, but since we really don't get to ride bikes much, she is not very confident and is scared.. however, hopefully this will be the summer I turn her into a little athelete with her bike and rollerblades!

Kempy... glad you are OK after that storm! And it sounds like you are doing a great job with your diet.. I am trying really hard to get motivated this week and just do it.. just having some issues.. as usual. I went to the doctor yesterday for my annual, and he thinks I may be suffering from depression again and wants me to consider taking something for it. I really don't want to.. but I am having some rough emotional eating and some bad sleepless nights. So.... we will see. Hopefully you will inspire me! :D

Angie.. Congrats on the Storefront! That is so exciting! I would love to own my own business, doing something I love... That is great! I know it will go well for you!

Cal.... I hope you are feeling better!

Well, I guess I better get busy working... This week isn't nearly as bad as last week, but I still have a list of things that need attention!

((((HUGS)))) I've missed everyone!

Talk to you soon!

01-18-2005, 12:22 PM
Hey guys. Sorry I didn't get on yesterday. I was at work in the morning and then I had to pick up Joe from the airport. We went to Outback for dinner so it was kind of late when we got home. I am still staying OP. I am kind of peeved though. TOM is coming soon and I have a little water weight on. I am going to keep pushing through this though and maybe I will get a reward once the water goes away. Joe is still doing great on his diet. Damn men! I think he is down 11 lbs now and this is the begining of the 3rd week. I on the other hand and still fighting the same few pounds. I wonder if I have messed up my body with all of the yo-yoing over the years. I feel like I am doing enough to lose more but it just doesn't want to budge.

Angie I want to know to what the time frame is for the store. I feel like I havn't talked to you in so long. I know that you guys are busy though.

Noelle it has been COLD down here. Last night we had a hard freeze. At least for us it was. We were around 25 for more than 10 hours so it was mighty chilly here. I think our high today is supposed to be around 45. Can you believe it is that cold here?

Cherie have you ever taken St. John's wart? I used to take that and I loved it. I don't have severe depression so that really helped me out. I could tell when I got off of it too. I wonder if they would allow you to take that.

Julie the Eggplant came out pretty good. I used 3 egg whites to dip the slices in. Then I coated them with crushed bran flakes, whole wheat flour, italian seasoning, Tony's and garlic powder. I baked it for about 20mins and had it over wheat pasta w/a little tom. suace. It was really good. The eggplant is healthy too that way. I figured it up and each slice is about 60 cals. Plus you get alot of fiber.

Well, I need to run we have a guy coming to measure for carpet and for granite countertops in the kitchen. I'll pop on later when I get a chance.

01-18-2005, 04:03 PM
Cherie, I have tried St. John's wart. It really did not do anything for me at all. I have tried a few SSRI's and just could not tolerate the side effects. My body is so sensitive to medication. Well whatever you do I hope and pray for you.

Well its been a crazy day, running to pick up and drop off ds, laundry, feeding the kids, now I am eating right now. LOL....I should go play with the kids or go dust. Mmmmmm....thats easy I might take a break and hug the kiddos and play. I want everyone to smile today....even if you don't have a reason smile or belt out a huge laugh, it is really suppose to help your mood. Can you just see someone sitting in their car laughing their @ss off? I saw a show on it once and this guy would be on his way to work on the bus and just starting laughing so hard and it helped his moods and the way he looked at life, so Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha....
I hope you don't think I am crazy :lol:check back later

01-18-2005, 05:16 PM
Hey girls, I already had my little drama crisis this morning which resulted in one guy quitting. It was for the best though, I can't stand those primadonna plumbers--those that want the big bucks but won't do the work for it. But, 'nuff said about that. I have this big knot of anxiety in my chest and I know Rick did too. After we sent the other guys out on the road and we were alone all we did was give each other a big, long hug. *sigh* Get this, the guy claims to "have to walk on eggshells around here, your wife (meaning me!) doesn't like me, she never has since the beginning...". Well excuse me, just because I don't go around giving personal greetings in the morning to everyone doesn't mean I don't like you. Give me a break. Rick almost told him, 'well my wife doesn't like anybody, so don't feel bad'. I have a feeling this guy knows the system and he'll just try to claim unemployment benefits due to a 'hostile environment' so he can sit on his lazy behind. I really don't care right now, I'm just glad he's gone. He's so big he's intimidating and I can't have that, I can't live in fear that if we have to reprimand this guy he'll use his size to his advantage. Whew, yeah, I'm glad that's over with. I love ya guys and thanks for listening. I'm kind of just decompressing right now, sorry if I don't get personal but I'll be back later.

Hi everyone!! Man it is so cold outside today. BBBRRR!!! We didnt even get into the positive numbers today.

Well, I got the key to the storefront today! :cheer: It is way bigger than I remembered it to be. It will probably look so empty. I am not going to actually have to pay rent on it until March 1. So I guess we will be opening up after that. I am thinking about buying a laptop so I can bring the internet with me. LOL How do those things work anyway? Greenville is so far in the boonies that there isnt any DSL up there so how would I get it to work? The owner is a really nice guy. He said we can do whatever we want to the space. We will be right across the street from the lake which is where everybody walks around during the summer so I hope we do well. We are going to be so busy though. We will have to get thgere at 6 in the morning so I can cook all the pastries off to open at 7 and then we will run it til 3 in the afternoon and come home and cook the donuts and Jay will have to deliver them at night too. I figure he may get to bed by midnight. If you want to see some pics of Greenville just type it in in your web browser and you can find the town websight. They have postcard links on it and it is pics that people from there have taken.

Noelle, I am glad you got rid of the guy with no problems. I would have been scared too. I hope he doesnt milk you for unemployment now. {{{HUGS}}}} I am glad Michael had a fun birthday. You are doing so well. I am proud of you.

Julie, Isnt this weather sickening? Sad thing is it is cold down south now too. I guess the only place to go is Noelles house.

Kempy, WOW, Joe is melting right away. I think his weight has found me. I bet you two are gonna win the dinner. You Rock!!!

Cherie, How are you today.

01-18-2005, 08:58 PM
Well, I just had dinner with the girls.. made something warm, and fattening.. :( Chicken and Dumplings.. but it was good.

Kemp and Julie.. I can't use St. John Wort. It makes the pill less effective. So if you really want to see me depressed, let me get pregnant, and SINGLE... No thank you! :D Not gonna happen! I have been doing some research to see if I can find something that won't interfere with the pill to take.. right now, I am thinking a healthy diet and plenty of exercise would really be the key... it's just getting off my butt and doing what is right.

Angie.. I can't wait to see pictures of the new place.. sounds like you are going to be soooooo busy. Wow!

Noelle (((HUGS))) sounds like you have had a hard day... confrontations are the worst. I hope the rest of your evening gets better.

Julie, I didn't like Stu.... he would have creeped me out too.

OK.. time for the Biggest Loser.. last show.... I'll talk to you ladies later!

01-18-2005, 11:13 PM
Hi girls just checking in. Well hardly, I went to the eye doc for an exam today and got the dilating drops and can't see nothing or should I say look at the light so it is hard to look at my screen. My pupils are huge, my dh says my eye are all black, even though I have brown eyes . So I am going to make this short.

Noelle sorry you are having a rough day, hugs girl.

Angie, I am so happy for you. I will have to check that city out. I hope you still have the time for us ;), a laptop would be great!

Hi Kempy, how was work today

Cherie, glad this week is going to be a little slower at work for you and your dinner sounded great!!

Hi Cal

Goodnight girls

01-18-2005, 11:23 PM
Oh Cherie forgot to ask....who won the Biggest Loser? I watched American Idol tonight.

Noelle did you watch? The guest judge Mark was a cutie.

Okay got to do something and rest these eyes now even though I am not tired yet :dizzy:.

01-19-2005, 11:43 AM
Good Morning! How is everyone?

Julie... Last week they announced the biggest loser was.. hmmm what's his name? Ryan. Can you believe in 6 months this man lost over 100 pounds. I am thinking they said 121.. but I can't remember. Last night, out of the people that were eliminated, The guy who won the $100,000 was Dave. He was down to 179 or something like that. It was pretty amazing to see these people now. Most of the women weigh less than ME NOW! Geeze.. if that doesn't get me motivated, I don't know what will. :D

Well, I better get busy here at work. I just wanted to say HI to everyone!

01-19-2005, 01:09 PM
Hi Girls

How is everyone's day going? Last night I had a slip up and had an ice cream sundae. But started the day of right with a hot bowl of oatmeal.

Cherie I know you eat oatmeal, do you eat the flavored or regular? I know the regular is better because it has less sugar. Thanks for the Biggest Loser info. I saw Ryan last week win but I couldn't miss AI last night.

Noelle I saw a show on Food TV last night $40 dollars a day in Maui, it was beautiful. I want to see a palm tree. Don't take those things for granted! They are so beautiful. I hope you are having a better day.

Well going to get off of here and do something. We got around four inches of snow, maybe five last night. More coming tonight. Angie I wonder if it is going to come your way, I hope not. I know the cold air from us did.
Hi, Kempy, Angie, Cal and Summer. Check back later. Julie

01-19-2005, 03:28 PM
Good morning girls. I'm having a slow start this morning, but it's all good. I just keep thinking forward to my anniversary vacation trip to Vegas next month. I just found out that my oldest sister (45 y.o.) broke her arm in two places yesterday. She fell down the steps in her house, i mean really tumbled down, head over heels. That must've hurt like heck. She's lucky it was only her arm and not her leg or even neck! I was shocked to hear it happened but not that all surprised since she is a bit of a klutz :^: .

Julie, I watched AI last night but not the whole thing. How did you like that guy that looked like Mili Vanilli? I thought he had a great smile and his voice was pretty nice too. No one struck me as 'WOW' material but there are more cities to come. How about that psycho Mary girl that had voices in her head? She should've kept them there . She was terrible---but Mark McGrath was a hottie wasn't he? Are you talking about Rachel Ray on the Food TV? She's cute isn't she? I like her because she's not real skinny and glamorous, but more like a 'real' person and seems approachable.

Hey Cherie, what I would give to be a 179 lbs right now  If someone offered me 179 lbs or $100K? hmmm, I'd seriously consider the 179--I have tons of clothes to wear at that weight . That's amazing that Ryan lost that much, but think about it, if you went on a show like that, wouldn't that motivate you like nothing else? I mean, the threat of public failure would certainly push me to get off my @ss. Those people did make awesome changes in their appearance though.

Angie, I'm so excited for you about that storefront. I know you guys will get loads of business with all the vacationers there. I think a laptop is a great idea then you can take a break and chat w/us when things get too crazy for ya. Do you have a name for the place yet? Maybe you can create a recipe like for a cookie or something and package it and sell it online during the off seasons. I have this friend who has that house in Maui and she sells shave ice (like snow cones) and banana bread and other local stuff but she's only there from Memorial Day to Labor day. The rest of the time she lives on Oahu. I think your idea of selling Maine foods is a good one--I love that blueberry pancake mix you sent.

Kempy, thanks for the pics of beautiful snowy NOLA. That was amazing that it got so cold out there it snowed! I remember those cemetaries--the above ground crypts and everything. I remember the tour guides telling us something about family crypts and the exact # of days a body was kept in one of those things until it could be removed to put in the next one. Creepy! But neat too. How's business doing? Don't you love making your own hours?

Cal, I have a friend out here that wants to move to AZ, I don't know exactly where. Her husband wants to move to Vegas but she thinks that he'll gamble way to much if they lived there. She told me about the houses they looked at, some were around $400K but those were the houses that would sell for well over $1M over here. Isn't that just insane?

Anyway, gotta get some work done. Ho hum. Be back later.

01-19-2005, 03:53 PM
Noelle sorry to hear about your sister, that sounds like a bad accident. But you are right thank God it was not her leg or neck. Yup, I did like the Mili Vanilli guy too. I think they showed the bad more than the good. But I enjoyed Mark too! Yeah I was talking about Rachel Ray. She does seem nice. Not stuck up and so down to earth. It is like you could just start up a conversation with her so easily. Well ds son just said he wanted a snack. Pickles, haha....I am going to miss him so much when he is gone all day at school next year. I know, I know....I am probally over emotional . My problem is I think to much sometimes about certain subjects and get emotional . Well going to go.

01-20-2005, 10:10 AM
Good Morning guys.

Noelle that always scares me about steps. WE only had a few of them when I was growing up and I always managed to fall down and up those things. I hate that she broke her arm but at least that was all that was broken. That guy sounds like a crazy one. Thankfully he is gone now.

Julie I never get into the firts few AI's. I usually start to watch it when they get down to the final 20 or so. I feel like I am being punished by some of those peoples singing. :D

Angie how is it going today? Have you come up with your list of things to sell yet? I bet you are having a ball right now.

Cherie do you have any fun plans this weekend?

I am feeling kind of down on myself right now. I feel like and am just not contributing to the family. I am just having a bad day today so please don't mind me. I think alot has to do with the weather right now too. I need to head out to work. I have a late day today so I hope to be back later tonight.

01-20-2005, 11:33 AM
OK.. add me to the cranky list today. My sleeplessness is getting worse. Last night, I went to bed a little early. My shoulder blade is still killing me and I had taken a ton of medicine for it and nothing was helping. So, I crawled into bed (after taking four extra strenth tylenol) around 9:00 PM. A little later, I started hearing the family next to me. Our master bedrooms butt up together, but normally the walls are so well insulated, I don't ever hear anything... last night however, they had their young son in with them and he screamed and cried til almost 11 PM. I had my pillow over my head.. just trying to block him out. I wasn't about to go say anything to them, since I have been there and had an upset child, but it was sooooooooo annoying. I finally drift off, and at 11:30 my cell phone rings... damn wrong number. Shoulder is still hurting, I am trying to find a position where it will relieve some of the pain and I drift off. I wake up at 3:00 AM... wide awake, and I lay there til my alarm goes off at 5:45 AM trying to fall asleep. Needless to say... I was/am very cranky this morning.

Kempy.... we are here for you. The weather affects me too... I swear I have always had some shade of depression my whole life, so I know a little bit about how you are feeling. (((((HUGS))))) And when did I miss the snowy NOLA pictures???????

Noelle.. wow about your sister!!! Poor thing. Hopefully it will heal quickly.. I have never broken a bone in my body, knock on wood, so I can only imagine how much pain that would be.

Julie right now I am having the flavored oatmeal, I know not as good for me, but better than a candy bar. I need to go to the health food store and try those steel cut oats.. I have heard really great things about them how tasty they are and how much better they are for you. I might try to do that this weekend. I'll keep you posted.

Angie... is this just going to be a bakery that you are opening up or what else will you be selling??? It all sounds very interesting! I have always wanted to do something like that in a little resort town.. I think that would be so much fun!

OK.. guess I better get back to work. Talk to you all soon!

01-20-2005, 11:54 AM
Good Morning Girls

Cherie what a rough night! You poor thing. Did you remember hurting your shoulder? Whatever it is I hope it gets better. And that is a total bummer about the neighbors and the wrong number. Ugh, I feel bad for you. I hope for your sake you can get to bed early. I have heard good things about the steel cut oats, but I know they can take up to thirty minutes to cook, but I think you can make them in the crock pot the night before. Maybe your girls with like that with brown sugar, cinnamon and some dried fruit. It might be easy? But if they are like my little ones they both want something different every morning.

Angie, Kempy is right I bet you are having a blast right now with all the planning. Busy, but an exciting busy. How fun. I would love to have my own shop like that.

Noelle I watched AI last night and I think that all they are going to show is the bad auditions with maybe a couple good ones and save the good ones for later on. I liked the country girl though, she was pretty and had a good voice but need to loosen up a bit. Hope work is going okay.

Kempy, I know I am so damn down because of our weather, we got up to five inches earlier in the week and it is coming down like crazy and cold as ****. We are all here for you. Hugs honey.

Well I am going to go find something to eat. Maybe just coffee. I don't know. Count me in on the "down club" today. I am feeling kind of that way. Ds had a field trip at school and dh had off to take him and last night he had a fever and a rash on his arms, ds. I told dh that it would probally be better in the am. Well he went to work, even though I said stay home because one of us has to chaperone, well he didn't listen, ds said he feels better but his head hurts, can't tell if he is really coming down with something or not. Dh was sick for two weeks with a cough though. I don't know maybe it is the best he stayed home, maybe he is getting sick but I really wanted him to go with his class today. Sorry for rambling on....I didn't mean to. Check back later girls

01-20-2005, 02:09 PM
Good morning girls. I'm taking a little breather from work to get my head together. I have a weird/scary story. About 2 days ago, news broke of a female body was found on the island of Kauai. The guy who is suspected of killing her has the same name as my husband (except for the ever important middle initial) and is from the same town he was from over there--and he's only 2 years older than Rick is. Creepy huh? Rick's been getting inundated w/phone calls from friends and acquaintances asking if it was him...*shudder* and I've been getting harrassed by my sisters (in a friendly way of course) about it. Here's the link to the article: After you read it, you can see that this guy looks nothing like my Rick, you've all seen pics of him :). But it's kind of been a surreal experience watching the TV news and just hearing the name and the talk of the crime he committed. Creepy!!!

Cherie, hugs girl. Hope you have an easy day then a more restful night tonight. If your stomach can tolerate it, have you tried ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin) for the shoulder? It's an anti-inflammatory so it may work better than the acetaminophen. Hope you feel much much better soon.

Julie, I'm sorry your boy couldn't go on his field trip. He must be bummed. Hope he feels better soon. Do you know what caused the rash? Maybe something he ate? Is he enjoying school now? I don't know about AI. You're right about them showing more of the awful singers and just throwing in a few of the good ones in the auditions. But like Kempy, I can only take so much, which is weird because I just loved the last 3 seasons. I turned it off after about 15 minutes, then watched the Village movie. That was a weird one.

Kempy, I hope this dark cloud that seems to be hanging over a lot of us leaves soon too. I agree, it could be the weather. It's cloudy and gloomy here too. Well, hope your workday passes just fine.

Have a good one everybody, lets hang in there!

01-20-2005, 02:29 PM
WOW Noelle, that is creepy. That poor girl. I want to die in my sleep from old age. I pray I dont go a violent death.

Julie, How much snow do you guys have? We got hit last night with some more and school was cancelled. Why? I dont know because it wasnt even snowing out when school should have started. So the kids are home for the day.

Kempy, Got a busy day girl? Business must be picking up good huh? I hope so.

Cherie, I hope you can get your shoulder straightened out. I know when it happened to me last year the doc gave me some pills to take the swelling down and it took care of the shoulder pain. I hope you can get some rest tonight.

I am in a downward mood also. I am having trouble finding equipment and I dont want to go buy all new stuff because that is tons of money. I have my cash register and my tables and some small stuff but I still have to find a new oven, stand up freezer, cooler, sinks and ss tables. I thought I had a good showcase but his parents will only let us use the small one which is too small for what we need so now I have to go buy one of those too. :(
I also have a house full of sample cheescakes and cakes and stuff so my dieting is totally nonexistent. I feel like a huge fat slob. I have no energy and could just curl up in bed forever.

01-20-2005, 02:59 PM
Hi girls just a quick flyby here for me. You know I was thinking maybe it is a good thing we are snowed in today. I wanted to get this haircut, I look like a damn sheepdog . But maybe I would have got in a bad accident on the way there because I would have to traveled 20-25 minutes to get there. I believe things happen for a reason, so I will just deal with this crazy hair. Just a thought.

01-20-2005, 03:31 PM
Angie and Noelle sorry I did not reply to your posts, I started my post then had to make lunch, assist in the bathroom :lol:and such.

First of all Noelle that is about one of the most frightening things I have heard. How weird, poor Rick having the same name. And you are right he looks nothing like that guys mug that would totally freak me out too. That poor woman. May she rest in peace. What a scary world we live in. Hearing things like that just makes me want to hug the ones I love. I did not watch AI that much last night either. My favorite season is still the Clay/Ruben one. You know it is so strange I don't know what caused the rash, it is better today, I am thinking a fever rash....maybe? But you know five year olds they can be sick one minute and bouncing of the walls like crazy not to long after.

Oh Angie, I wish there was something I could do to help you out. I wonder if you could look on-line like e-bay or something for equipment? If I have time maybe I could look on the net for ya. Let me know if there is anything I can do. Things will work out, may be rough starting out but keep your chin up!! You are not a huge fat slob! You may have gained some weight back but in time it will come off, and you sound like one of the cleanest people I know, you are not a slob! Just take it day by day sweetie. I don't even know how much snow we have, just to much for me. And it is still coming down like crazy. I just heard the plows go through twice. More coming tomorrow. Okay enough *****ing about the snow. You guys are probally so sick of me talking about it!! I still wish we were all getting together in March. Someday we will....and it will be a blast.

01-21-2005, 10:35 AM
I had to pull us up from the 2nd page again girls. At least we are on top again. I am home today working on a mailer for my business. I will try to keep the thread up today.

Noelle that sounds like something out of a movie. Rick hasn't had any reporters calling has he? I really wonder about people sometimes. I know that the things that are done don't really make up the majority of people but the news alawys makes them stand out. I think they should show more of the good things that people do. Sometimes I think they kind of glorify what these crazy poeple are doing. By all of this coverage they get, they are getting all of the attention they probably always wanted.

Cherie I didn't send the pics b/c I don't have your email. PM it to me and I will try to send them again.

Angie I was going to say the same thing Julie said. I would search the net for your stuff. I got most of my stuff off of ebay and I saved over half. It is worth the day you will spend looking for stuff.

I really think that the funk I was in yesterday is weather and PMS related. I was just feeling bad about not having very many people at work and then to top it off I am just not losing weight like I think I should be. Monday will be 3 weeks and I am only down 3.5 lbs. I just feel like I am working so hard and getting no results. I feel better today but I am trying not to think about all of it. It is going to be a gross day today too so I am goign to have to keep myself busy.

I hope to see you guys post today.

01-21-2005, 12:25 PM
Good Morning Girls

Kempy I think you are losing and that is what COUNTS....better slowly than not at all. They say it stays off better if you lose it slowly because your metab. and body adjust to a new way of life and eating. Just a thought. Last night I was going to pull us off the second page but did not have much to say and no one else checked in. So I tried to get to bed early.

Last night for dinner I did not have anything. Just did not have an appetite. I know not eating is not good for your metab. Dh just called have to look up something be back later. Sorry so short.

01-21-2005, 01:00 PM
Okay I am back now. Dh called from work and needed me to use the computer so I had to go right away. As I was saying I did not eat dinner, I know it was not good but kind of had an upset tummy and things on my mind. But started the day off great with a bowl of Cheerios, don't know what I am having for lunch yet, but dinner is going to probally be salmon salad and potates and more veggies. And I have drank four glasses of water all ready. I want to flush out the fat and toxins so I am really going to shoot for 80oz of water today. I really want to get some cardio in today. I have been slacking big time in the excercise department so it is now time to get back on track. Come on girls lets this thread moving :comp: :strong:. Have a great day girls

01-21-2005, 01:32 PM
I just got back from getting stamps and picking up a plant. When we redid our landscape one of our Magnolias went into shopck and really didn't recover very well. I got one to replace it and it is prettier than the ones we have had for 4 years. I think I am going to walk the dog and then get it into the ground. See, I stay home from work and I end up doing house stuff. I figure that I will have time when it is dark outside to do the puter work so I am going to enjoy the sun. Yes, it came out. In fact it is kind of hot right now.

Be back later.

01-21-2005, 01:55 PM
Go Kempy! Gardening and walking the dogs, great excercises and having fun while doing them! I have a gardening question for you, why have all my rhodenrons(sp?) died? I bought the hardy ones for our zone to take below zero temps. but they still did not make it. We water them, I don't know I guess I don't have a green thumb. Just thought you may know something about those plants.

Cal have not heard from you in a while. Hope you are feeling better. Is hubby still subbing for you?

Well Hello Angie, Noelle, Cherie, and Summer. Check back later on. The snow is falling so softly right now and the flakes are huge, it looks like slow motion. It is really beautiful. Well take with ya all later.

01-21-2005, 02:22 PM
Julie we have Azales down her. They are pretty much the same thing though. When did you guys plant them? They may be what happened to them. Give me a little more info on what you guys did. How much did you water them, when you planted them, what kind of light do they get. Maybe that will help me out.

01-21-2005, 03:04 PM
Hey girls. I'm in my office today but I brought a pirated copy :sssh: of the movie "Closer" the one w/Julia Roberts and Jude Law :T in it? I think I'll watch it after taking care of a little business. I've been in a funky mood, this week hasn't been so good for being OP--I could blame it on last weekend w/the b-day celebration(s) and long weekend and stuff, but really it's all in the decisions I make for myself about what I eat. :ink:

As far as that weirdo murderer, Rick hasn't had reporters calling him, but we have had some customers call and ask about him, I always say, no, his middle initial is "E" and it's no relation! Creepy I tell you.

Kempy, I'm w/Julie. You're on your third week and you've lost 3.5 lbs--that's awesome and right on track. If it makes you feel better, I'm up 2 lbs (that's what the scale says) this morning from last Saturday's weight. I'm chalking it up to pizza and cake and skipping too many breakfasts this week. I guess fueling your body in the morning really does make a difference. I will weigh tomorrow and update my weight tracker. You just keep on going and don't give up, that's what's going to make a difference.

Julie, mmm I love salmon. I made a tofu salad w/salmon last night, sooo good. Maybe a little too salty w/the soy sauce dressing, but it hits the spot every time. Your snow sounds so beautiful and calming. I caught the beginning of the Regis and Kelly show, they have an outside camera that they can talk to people with, and they stopped this lady walking by who said hello, then actually got her into the studio in front of the camera. It was 11 degrees in NY city I think. I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about how cold that is, I can imagine WI might be even colder.

Well, hope to hear from some of you others out there. Cherie, Angie, Cal, Summer(?)...Have a great day all. Be back later.

01-21-2005, 03:21 PM
Noelle, Wanna feel cold? It was 8 degrees below zero this morning with a windchill of 47 below!! :yikes: We havent even hit zero for a high today. I guess tomorrow is supposed to be the same. I am sick of winter already

01-21-2005, 03:29 PM
****Brrrrrrr!!!!!!***** That's inconceivable! Here's some sun for ya, I'll go outside and soak it up for you :sunny:

01-21-2005, 04:09 PM
Julie check out this site. It might help you a little more. Maybe if you read some things about them it will pinpoint what is going on.

Noelle I know that 3.5lbs is better than nothing. I am just getting down in the dumps about it. I see people who lose 5 -10 lbs in a week and here I am with a stinking little 3.5. I am not going to stop but I can't help to feel this way.

Angie HOLY CRAP!!! Sorry, that is all I can say. I was wondering does it every get to a point that you don't nitice that is colder than say 10degrees. I have never felt anything below 18 so I didn't know if your body just gets to a point that is doesn't feel any colder than a certain temp. Did that make sense? I am in shorts right now so it is hard for me to imagine it that cold. I got my plant in the ground and pulled some weeds. Joe and I have the spring planting bug again. I wonder what he is going to want to do in the yard this year.

Ok, off to work on the labels. At least I am going to try. I might wonder outside again for a bit.

01-21-2005, 04:11 PM
Hey everyone.. checking in.... I think I am with you Angie.. I am sick of winter, even though its a very nice day today... I'm just not out in it.. I am sitting here at work, just looking at it.

I'm not feeling very good ..... it's been a long week, and I am looking forward to going home. I took two tylenol PMs last night for my shoulder blade (it is slowly getting better) but I STILL woke up all night long last night. Something is going on with me, and I just need to figure out what it is.

Anyway.. I have the girls this weekend, so I will try to log in later this weekend. Have a great one!

01-21-2005, 04:14 PM
Quick question? Do any of you have Yahoo Messenger or MSN? Just checking... I have both, and keep them on.. would be nice to chat every now and then! I just thought I would ask!

01-21-2005, 04:17 PM
I just had to come back and share that I am enjoying my "Ultimate Manilow" CD right now. "Last night I waved goodbye, now it seems years...I'm back in the city, where nothing is clear... When will our eyes meet, when can I touch youuuuuu, when will this strooooonnnnnngggggg yearning end...."

My #6 sister's b-day was last week Friday and I was out scouting for presents...well, I really wanted to get her that Motley Crue Red White and Crue CD but I couldn't find it anywhere locally, and I didn't have time for Ebay, so I bought her the Shout at the Devil CD  Turns out, her car (a VW Beetle) only has a cassette player (WTF?) so she didn't really want the CD. While I was at the register paying for the CD, I found Barry Manilow's CD on the counter, I couldn't pass it up. It has all his hits like Mandy, Weekend in New England, I Write the Songs, etc... So I now have Motley Crue and Barry Manilow in my car. How's that for eclectic taste in music?

Oh, and I got my sis the book "Motley Crue: The Dirt"--which that witch already had so i had to give her the receipt to make a return .

Julie, you can send my babe Jude via parcel post to save you some $$ ;)

01-21-2005, 04:42 PM
Kempy thanks for the info. I will have to check that site out this weekend. I bet you and Joe have just a beautiful yard.

Noelle sounds like you did some hard work trying to find a gift for your sister. Now she can take it back and get something she wants. I like that you have a wide range of taste in music. You know I do too.

01-21-2005, 04:49 PM
Cherie, I am sorry you are not feeling well. I hope you can catch up on some much needed rest this weekend. Do you think you should have the doctor check it out for you? hugs, not to tight though ;). I don't know if I have them. I am really dumb at computer things. I will ask hubby if we do. That would be fun though.

Noelle now I got Manilow's Copacabana song stuck in my head . Thanks girl!!

01-21-2005, 09:42 PM
Hey girls. Just checking in for the afternoon.....Has anyone watched the movie Harold and Kumar go to White Castle? I rented it on a whim after seeing the previews on another DVD. Well, I normally don't rent that type of movie (obviously stupid/pointless kinds) but I'm glad that I did. With all the stress going on at work and watching too many horror/suspense movies, this was a welcome relief. It was too funny (of course you've got to have a sense of humor like mine :s: ). so if you're looking to have a couple of cheap laughs, go and rent it. Caution though, this is NOT a movie for kids to watch at all--that's the parent in me talking .

Cherie, i really hope you get some relief from that bum shoulder soon. Is this something that has happened before? I would have a dr. look at it soon if it bugs you too much. :grouphug: Have a good weekend with the girls. Oh yeah, I do not have MSN or that Yahoo stuff either, but I wonder if it's something you can just sign up for for free? A real time chat would be cool for all of us.

Lola, oops, I mean Julie, you're welcome

Well, I'm off to Blockbuster to make the most of my movie pass rentals... see y'all later.

01-21-2005, 10:09 PM
Noelle you be Mandy, I'll take Lola....its kind of sassy and not boring like my name. Hahahahaha....I have not rented a movie in ages. I have not heard of that movie. I hope you really have a stress free weekend. I know you have several rough days, take it easy this weekend. But try and stay close to being OP or I will have to buy a ticket to HI and come out there  , I wish....we are expected to get 8 inches of the white stuff tonight! Lots of sledding this weekend.

01-21-2005, 10:15 PM
Btw I may get on the scale tomorrow. I hope the water weight has come off me. I drank like a fish today(water), ate pretty good and excercised for about 20 minutes, well going to go my puter is acting up!! Hi everyone!!

01-21-2005, 11:41 PM
Well I am feeling lots better. I've been trying to really relax and try not to stress. (yeah right--me a middle school teacher) My blood pressure is down, but the dr wants to keep me on the meds for awhile.

Some of the teachers I work with are starting a group walk on Monday. After school, about 3:30, they are going to walk for 30 minutes every day (or at least as many days a week as they can.) I think I may join them; I love walking especially if there's others around.

Angie: Stay warm. It has cooled down here and has gotten cloudy. A few days ago it was in the 80s and today it was in the 70s. Silly kiddos at school were wearing their jackets all day and complaining it was hot. :?:

Cherie: I have MSN Messenger. I would love to chat. Hope you are feeling better. Enjoy those girls this weekend.

Noelle: Are you still going to Vegas? If so, when will you be there? Maybe we can meet up again. I haven't seen the movie you're talking about, but my sis has and she says it was so stupid it was funny. Hope things are going great for you.

Julie: Stay warm. When I lived in Utah I used to love to just sit and watch the snow fall; especially if I didn't have to go out in it.

Kempy: I hope you have a great weekend.

01-22-2005, 01:16 PM
Well, first one here on a Saturday. I guess that means I am spending too much time on the puter.

Noelle I want to see that movie. It is my kind of film. Have you seen Eurotrip. Another one just for adults but Joe and I are rolling laughing everytime we see it. I think it is now my favorite stupid funny movie.

Cal I think that is great that you have someone to walk with. I only have the dogs. They really don't know how to keep a pace. They are always stopping to smell the mailboxes. You would think that we walk a different route every time I take them.

Julie did you get on the scale today?

Angie any luck finding the stuff you need for the store?

Well, I had a run in with some M&M's last night. I should have never even gone into the kitchen. The wierd thing is what happened this morning. I got on the scale thinking I would be paying for my bad behavior and got a big shock. I was down another .5lbs. WHAT?? That makes no sense. I eat soemthing as bad as that and I lose? Trust me I am not going to complain but it just seems pretty weird.

Well, I have to do my mailers today. No excuses. I have got to get new clients. That is going to be my motivation today. I'll pop back on later.

01-22-2005, 02:28 PM
Good Afternoon Girls

Kempy congrats on another loss. Maybe your metabolism is getting back into gear? Whatever it is working. I wish I had your nice weather to walk in. All of you are so darn lucky to have temps above 30 degrees. Right now with the stupid wind chill it is 0 degrees. And we did get our eight to ten inches of snow last night and it is drifting like crazy. Hubby got called into work and there is no way I want to drive in this today. Yup got on the scale and I was surprised too. I am down several pounds from Thanksgiving. All that darn holiday/stress eating .

01-22-2005, 02:30 PM
Good Luck on getting those mails done Kempy. I would help you out today. I got the time. Hahahaha

01-22-2005, 02:36 PM
Hello everyone else and hope you have a great weekend. Well better get off of here so I can let the kids use a computer game. And I should do my cleaning. But I like to do it when dh is home so I can whiz through and get it done in a snap. Well I will just do small amounts here and there ;).
Hi, Angie, Kempy, Mandy, Cherie, Cal and Summer

Btw Cal glad you are feeling better and you are on meds for it. You are right though, hard to control bp with middle school students . And I think it is a great idea to walk with someone. I have the kids in the summer but they like to stop and look at everything just like Kempy's girls and I can't get a power walk in unless they are in the wagon.

01-22-2005, 04:13 PM
Hey girls, it's the domestic diva here today. I'm scaling mountains of laundry today, and have to wrap some lumpia (filipino egg rolls) for a party my sister's having tomorrow. Other than that I'm all by my lonesome. Michael followed grandma and grandpa to the store so it's nice and peaceful right now. Hmmm, it's official, I'm up 2 lbs from last's probably a true weight though, instead of water weight like that rapid drop before so I'm okay with it. I thought I'd put my weight tracker in increments of first 20 lbs, then maybe goals of losing in 10's...makes it not so daunting to think about how much I actually need/want to lose.

Hey Lola ;) , nice and sunny here today, it was a little chilly for us when I woke up, maybe high 50's or low 60's  but right now the sun is shining for ya. :bravo: on your loss!

Cal, hey nice to hear from you. I think a walking group is a great thing, it'll probably help with the BP too. You know, my trip would ideally be around my anniversary (2/25), but we've got two concurrent projects that are going on around that time. I am shooting for around 3/1, but I just got a flyer regarding a contractor's convention a week or two after that. If we go then, we can write the whole thing, I guess I haven't firmed the date yet, but I am definitely going and soon.

Kempy, maybe your body needed that "fake out" to let go of the weight. I don't understand it either, but anything involving chocolate that still lets you lose weight is a good thing  :bravo: on your loss.

Cherie, hope you're feeling better this weekend.

Angie, how's your weekend going?

Gotta run, dryer's done...haha, that rhymes :dizzy: Be back laTER.

01-22-2005, 10:02 PM
Hello ladies! I am just checking in for a few minutes... I think I am developing a small case of bronchitis. Just what I need. My cough that I've had for the past couple of weeks has gotten worse in the past two days.. and has moved into my chest. Needless to say, I feel like crap. About my shoulder... I just slept on it wrong.. it was still hurting today.. so I had Hannah stand on my back. I felt something pop.. and now, it feels much better.. still a little sore.. but not like it was. Hopefully that was all that was wrong, and this stiffness/pain will go away.

Cal... add me to your msn list... it's my signon name (Photogirltx). Maybe that will confuse the autobot spammers! :D

Noelle.. MSN messenger and Yahoo messenger are free. They are great... I keep mine on all the time. And, you can have chats with more than on person at a time.. so its a nice way to keep in touch with friends and family.

OK.. I am going to go to bed soon.. I'll come back tomorrow and read up on all the posts..

Julie and Angie.. hope you are not getting snowed in too badly.

Talk to you all soon!

01-23-2005, 11:24 AM
GOOD MORNING!!!! Well.... I stepped on the scales this morning for the first time in a long time and I hope I have been snapped back to reality. I have gained ALOT of weight!! I am freaking huge now. I dont want to be like this forever. I am going to do something about it starting now!!! I made Jay go for a snowmobile ride(we got some snow last night. ) and I did 30 minutes on my new bike that only Corey has broken in. This is going to be way harder for me than any other time because normally I am baking the basic things but in a month I will be making lots of new pastries that I love on a daily basis. So bear with me when I get depressed. I also dont know how I will fit the exercise in when I will be leaving for work at 5 and getting back here at 3 only to cook donuts until 6-8 at night but I am willing to try. I have to....I dont want to die fat. Have I told you guys how much I love ya lately? :grouphug: You are all the best friends I have ever had......and no I havent been drinking this morning.

I have loaded my fridge with fruits and veggies and skinny cow ice creams. My only pitfall will be that I am baking samples of new recipes and I dont know how to get rid of them without eating them. I hate to throw anything away and I dont want to make the kids eat lots of garbage because I may turn them into me.

I was on ebay and I found an old postcard of Greenville and it was of an old bakery that was up there in the early 1900's so I bid on it and won it and now I am bidding on old things like that. I figured I could make a collage for the front.I am bidding on a train ticket to Mt. Kineo right now from 1883. You should do a search on Mt. Kineo House and read about it. It was so grand, I cant believe they just let it go and now the whole area is empty land for sale for $90,000.00 an acre. Sad.

Well, I should get movin today. Talk to ya later.

01-23-2005, 11:25 AM
Cherie, I hope you are feeling better soon.

01-23-2005, 12:41 PM
Cherie I hope that is all that was wrong with you shoulder. A little pressure. I guess the cold is getting to us in more that emotional ways. I hope you feel better. We are having a cold day today. Our high is 47. They said that tonight could be the coldest ngiht we have had all season. BRRRRR

Angie I knew that you would come back into being OP. It usually takes an Ah-ha moment. At least that is what Oprah says. I think you decorating ideas sound great. We have an old house that was historic to our town and the idiots who run the city let the Church buy it and now it is torn down. I am so surprised that the historical development didn't try to stop that from happening. Is your front a historical landmark? If so you could probably get a grant to fix it up. I know they do that down here sometimes. I really don;t know where you could go to find out if you are able to get any money.

I knew that mother nature would catch up with me. I was able to get rid of the week b4 weight gain but this morning I hit me again. I should be starting soon so I guess I knew it was going to happen eventually. Oh well. Maybe I will satrt b4 I have to do my measurements in the morning.

I am going to go snuggle up on the sofa and try to keep warm. I will check back in later.

01-23-2005, 02:54 PM
Hi Girls

Angie so glad to see you posted. I am glad you are getting back to being OP, I know you have it in you, you are stronger than you think. And we love ya lots too! Remember that!!

Cherie get well soon.

Kempy stay warm and have fun snuggling. All four of us were in our bed this morning trying to stay warm too. It is 4 degrees here right now. Did you get your computer work done?

Noelle have fun at your sister's party today. I love egg rolls. Dipped in sweet and sour sauce. I am glad you got peace and quiet yesterday.

Hi Cal and Summer....sorry so short but I wanted to get some stuff done today now that dh is home. I have chicken baking in the oven for dinner. Just going to try and stay OP even though it is the weekend. I had a sub for lunch with ff turkey and pepper jack cheese and just a smidge of mayo and mustard. Pretty OP. Missed breakfast....okay really got to go now! Check back later. Julie

01-23-2005, 03:13 PM
Kempy one more thing, I was so excited we found Tony's at one of our local grocery stores. Woohoo. Now I don't have to order it over the net. We love it so much and use it on everything from noodles to cottage cheese to mashed potatoes. Thank you so much for that stuff. Dh can't have his bowl of chili and noodles without it now. I saw on their website you can order the sodium free. I wonder how that tastes? Anyway just wanted to tell you that. LOL....Have a great Sunday everyone. I am going to go try my new pledge wipes, anyone try them yet? It doesn't take much to get me excited. What a boring life, huh?

01-23-2005, 10:12 PM
hey girls!! Just checking in for the night. I think I did fairly well today. I exercised for 30 minutes on the bike and I had cereal and skim milk for breakfast. Subway and wow chips for lunch and fat free hotdogs with baked fries and mushrooms for supper. For snack I had 2 skinny cow ice creams(I know I should have stopped at one but they are SO good)

Talk to ya all in the morning.

01-24-2005, 10:33 AM
Good Morning Girls... I am here.. but still not feeling well. My shoulder is fine today.. but my coughing and chest still hurt. I am so sick of being sick.

Angie, you are doing GREAT!!! You guys will be the ones to motivate me now. All I want to do is crawl back into bed and veg.

Kempy and Julie.. I think we have all been suffering from the cold in different degrees. I know I can't stand being cold.. it makes me miserable... so this just wasn't a good weekend for staying warm.

Anyway.. I need to get back to work.. I am not making much sense.. I blame it on the cough medicine I am taking :D

Have a happy Stinkin' Monday.. as they say on my local radio station.... :D I am not a Monday person!

Talk to you guys later!

01-24-2005, 11:20 AM
Good Morning girls!!! Cherie, take care of yourself girl. I am sending good thoughts your way so you feel better soon.

Did you guys hear that today is supposed to be the most depressing day of the year? I actually feel pretty good today, kinda like I am coming out of my funky mood.

Okay, I know I am supposed to weigh in once a week and log it but I couldnt stand to look at the ticker at the bottom for a week with no loss so I weighed in this morning and lost 3 pounds of bloatation so I logged it for my own sanity.

Noelle, is there an easier way to make changes to that ticker or do I have to redo it every time?

We tracked down a cooler for the bakery so that is one thing done with. I only have a month before I have to start paying rent to the guy who owns the building so I hope I can find the most important equipment. I can take my oven up there but I hate it. I want a new one.

I exercised already so at least that is done. I will check back later.

01-24-2005, 12:26 PM
Good Morning Girls

Cherie I hope you feel better soon.

Angie great job on the loss. Your hard work is paying off. I did not know today was the most depressing day of the year! Good thing I am not feeling to down today!

Noelle how was the party? I hope you had a wonderful time.

Well I am going to get some cardio in today. When I go in for my check up I Want to be ten pounds lighter. Had cereal with skim milk for breakfast and planning on yogurt for lunch and maybe chili for supper with a small serving of cornbread. Check back later. Hi Kempy, Cal and Summer.

01-24-2005, 03:54 PM
Hey girls. I ran out of cereal this morning, so I only ate about 1/3 of a cup. I did have a ff yogurt though, + a multi-vitamin so I should be good to go. This weekend was tough, but I look at it as a cap on a bad week :^:. I decided to skip the party since there would way too much temptation there, and just stayed home and watched movies instead. I'm glad I stayed home because I checked my email right before bed and an old girlfriend had emailed me out of the blue. We were tight for quite a few years during high school, but we lost touch within the past 6 or so years so I was really glad and surprised that she found me. She's living in CA now and I'm waiting for another email or phone call.

Angie, now you've got me doing a google search on why 1/24 is the most depressing day of the year... here's a little of what I've found: "A formula created by a part-time tutor at Cardiff University shows that foul weather, debts, fading Christmas memories, failed resolutions and a lack of motivation all conspire to make people miserable." Of course that's in the UK, and not necessarily in the US but it does make sense. Hey, congrats on those 3 lbs! It does feel good to see the loss on that evil scale. I don't know of an easier way to change the ticker, but if I find one I'll let you know.

Julie, you found Tony's at a local grocer? I think I found some of the products at the Navy commissary too. I have to go and see next time I tag along w/my dad. How did those pledge wipes work out for ya? ;) Just playing w/ya.

Cherie, hang in there. Things can only get better right? Stay warm.

Shoot, gotta run. Mail's here and there's a huge box of something... be back later.
Hello to all!!!

01-24-2005, 08:30 PM
Hey guys. Better late than never.

Anige I am so glad to see you in better spirits. I don't just weigh once a week. I have to know every morning. I keep track of it in fitday and then I look at a report of the trend. If it goes up I do a little journal of why I think it went up. I was doing good until today. I had Wendy's, I mean the bad stuff from there. I only ate cereal for dinner though so I feel a little better about it. I am going to drink tons of water tonight to see if it will keep me from gaining for the morning weigh in.

Julie now I am going to have to find something different to send you for Christmas. :D I have to admit that is some good stuff. The low salt kind isn't as good. We have some but I ended up throwing it away b/c we never even used it. When is your check up?

Noelle did you find that today is usually the day that everyone falls off the wagon. They said this morning on GMA that people usually don't make it past today with their resolutions. Maybe that is why I had that burger. They put something in my head about falling off. Darn media. :D

Cherie have you tried Zicam? Joe and I use it when we start to feel funky. I hope you feel better now that they work day is done.

Noelle that is so cool about your friend. My best friend from HS vanished and I still havn't heard from her. When I run into people from school I ask if they know anything about her. I wish I was able to get in touch with her. I bet she has changed so much, I probably wouldn't even know her.

01-24-2005, 09:55 PM
Hello Girls,

I will be able to check more often this week. I went back to my dr today and she took me off work for the rest of the week. DARN ;)

I had a bad weekend. Saturday night I had to go to the emergency room. I wasn't feeling well most of Saturday evening and by 10:30pm I was feeling sort of numb all over and the left side of my face was completely numb.
My blood pressure was 204/108; I have no idea why it shot up so high. They gave me an IV with a blood thinner to get the pressure down (it did finally go down about 4am to 145/75.) I was also having heart palpatations. ER Dr said I need to get lots of rest. (RIIIGGGHHHTTT!!!! I teach middle school!!! Sure, I can relax. :dizzy: )
Anyway, when I called my dr this morning she wanted to see me right away. One hour before my appointment, the school nurse took my bp (yes, I did go to school today) it was 164/82. At the dr's office an hour later it was 136/70. The dr is concerned that it is not regulating itself with the meds, so she upped the dosage to see if that might work.
All I know is that I have the rest of the week to really relax. Hubby is actually subbing for me; they called him about 20 minutes after I called in and said that I'd need a sub. I will be able to relax because now I'll know every day what is going on and I won't be worrying for the rest of week about what shape my classroom is in.

Hubby went to Walgreens last night and bought a home blood pressure monitor. He is still so worried that he calls me every hour. Nice to know he cares, but.....

Talked to a former co-worker from the school I taught at last year. She told me that one of the 8th graders (one of my 7th graders from last year) died last week. I was shocked. Seems she was standing on a corner near the school waiting to cross with her brother when a car went up on the sidewalk and hit her. They took her to the hospital, but she was DOA. I'm still in shock. I keep seeing her in my mind; a good kid. So sad. :(
Funeral is tomorrow, but I don't think I could take it. I will send something to her parents, though.

Cherie: I hope you are doing better. After all the pain I've been through, I can sure sympathize with you.

Angie: I look forward to pics of your bakery. I'm so excited for you.

Hello to Julie, Kempy, Noelle, Summer.

01-24-2005, 09:58 PM
I almost forgot; Noelle and Kempy, I sent calendars to you--Arizona Highways; nice pics.

I wanted to send one to everyone, but first I didn't have the money and now I can't find the ones I liked. Also, I only have Angie's address right now. (Hint to Cherie, Julie, and Summer (wink, wink).

01-25-2005, 05:02 PM
Well, I was thinking I would come one the site and have lots of reading to do. I am letting my snack go down b4 I do TaeBo. Seems that I am the first to be here today.

Cal I got the calendar. Thank you so much. Talk about a surprise. I have to find a spot for it now. I guess I never relaly knew how pretty it was out there. You know what it is like when you think you know a place. That is pretty scary about this weekend. You better take care of yourself. I wonder what is making your BP get so high?

Julie I bet you could lose those 10 by May. That is a good ways of. You just have to make sure that you are doing all of the right things.

Angie what is going on with the shop today?

Cherie do you feel better today?

Noelle how are you doing out in beautiful HI? We are having great weather today. I want to do something in the yard but I just know that as soon as I cute back some plants we will get another frost and then I will really kill them.

I don't know what I did but I lost another .5lbs. Hey, I will take all that I can get. My wonderful (said in a snide way) hubby has lost 14.5lbs :yikes: What the **** is up with that. I love him and I am really proud of him but it is killing me. We went to his dads last weekend and his family was telling him that he looked so good. Hellooooooo, I was standing right there and had been working as hard as him but they didn't seem to notice. I told him when we got home that I love him and am proud of him but at the same time I was jealous. Is that normal? I am still waiting for someone to say, Wow, you look good, are you losing weight. I guess I will just have to work a little harder to get that from someone. I don't think you can see a 4.5lbs difference. (end rant)

01-25-2005, 07:57 PM
Hey guys, where is everyone today? I need some girl chat. Please don't make me sit my butt down in front of the TV.

Oh, a girl from my town is on AI tonight. She used to babysit for one of the girls I work with. She made it through to CA. The girl I work with said that she has been in CA for a little while making commercials. How cool is that. Some one from Ponchatoula. Who would have thought that!?

01-25-2005, 08:14 PM
Hello. I kinda slipped up last night. I have to make different recipes and I tried to recreate a cake I had a Seaworld so needless to say I ate some and some of the brownie recipe I tried. So today was so busy that I didnt get in any exercise but I did clean right through the house and got my numbers all done for my taxes. So at least that much is done. Tomorrow morning I have to go to the commercial equipment place and buy some sheetpans, dough roller etc. Busy busy busy.

Cal and Cherie, I hope you guys feel better soon. Cal, do they have any idea of what could be wrong? I hope it isnt anything serious. I had Bells Palsy once and it made the left side of my face go totally numb. I had to take medicine so it didnt do permanent damage. Your hubby sounds like a total sweetheart.

Kempy, :cheer: YEAH on your loss!!!

01-25-2005, 08:21 PM
Angie your day sounds busy but fun. I remeber what it was like when I was getting everything ready for the shop. Of course now I am ready for my tax return so I can pay off all of the money I spent to get the stuff. :dizzy: Did you find anything else to decorate with? That is the one thing I wish that I would ahve been able to do more of. I only have my room so I had to stick to decorating that. I bet your place is going to look great.

01-25-2005, 08:27 PM
I dont know what to do for decorations. The whole front is plate glass windows floor to ceiling. I may try to find some cafe curtains but we are pinching pennies trying to get it open for now. We are going to be closed on Tuesdays. Those are the slowest days and we really need one day to keep up with our homelife. I hope I can make it cute though. I bought some frozen bread dough from my wholesaler and cooked a loaf this afternoon and it looks and tastes as good as My MIL and hers is from scratch. We are trying to talk her into using that instead so she doesnt have to kill herself all summer.

01-25-2005, 09:12 PM
Hi girls watching AI I will check back later!! I am sorry I got here so late today!! Busy all day.

01-25-2005, 09:24 PM
Hi girls

Kempy Joe is losing so well, what are his secrets? You look damn good I am sure of it. They know it girl!! Some people just don't give compliments. My in-laws ;). I just saw the girl from your town, she was so good.

Angie, I slipped up tonight, I made homemade pizza caserole and corn muffins and sundaes. Someone....slap me! Good luck with the decorations! How fun!

Cherie and Cal get well soon sweeties.

Noelle, hello there you HI beauty!

Going to get back to AI, check back later girls.

01-26-2005, 11:14 AM
Besides that fact that I am here to bump us up from the 2nd page, I have to tell you thing. I got on the evil scale this morning and itwas down 1.5lbs from yesterday. That makes 6lbs!!!!! :dancer: :cheer: GOOOOOOO ME!!!!

Sorry for so much cheer but I have been stuck in the .5lbs a day club for three weeks. I have been dancing around the house all morning. I know you arn't supposed to weigh everyday but I was just waiting for some sort of break in the clouds.

OK, I need to head to the store. We are out of fresh veggies.

01-26-2005, 11:39 AM
Hey girls. hack hack cough cough sniff sniff....I came down with some kind of flu or something. My throat is killing me, my head is all stuffed up and i just have this general ache. I stayed in bed for a good portion of the day yesterday. I'm moving around today and have to go in to the office to do some paperwork but am only staying until my medication wears off

Go Kempy, go Kempy !! :cb: Nothing like a boost like that to keep you on that OP road. Hey i thought that girl on AI from Ponchatoula was pretty darn good. She wasn't too cutesy and whiny either, I liked her. That other guy from Alabama though, I was with Simon--I couldn't understand a word he said. It was too funny when they put captions up for him at the end segment.

Cal, I got the calendar you sent yesterday. Thank you so much. Wow, those are some beautiful spots! I'd love to just drive around and take some pics of your beautiful state. So what are you doing to relax these days? I hope you're not doing stuff like housework ;).

Angie I'm sure your store will be nice a cozy like, you did a great job decorating your home I'm sure your store will be beautiful too. Has it warmed up any over there?

Julie, I found a WI cheese sampler pack at Sam's Club over the weekend. I didn't buy it though, because it was more of a party size, like to put on crackers? I didn't think i would be able to eat that much cheese before it would go bad. I think I'll pick it up the next time we have something going on at our house, I'm sure my NY BIL would enjoy it, he's a cheese and cracker sort of guy

Cherie, how are you holding up? It's hump day if that's any consolation. Just a few more days to the weekend.

I gotta get ready to roll, the sooner I leave, the faster I can come home :)

01-26-2005, 12:08 PM
Good Morning Girls

Kempy, woohoo....its coming off. I hope you find some good things at the store. Are you following a certain plan or just watching it?

Noelle I hope you feel better soon. I am a cheese and cracker girl. I am trying to cut down though. Take your medicine curl up on the couch or in bed. Wasn't that last guy funny on AI last night? I think he was on something for sure! Or if that is personality I would love his metabolism !

Angie, I think Noelle is right your store will be cozy and beautifully decorated just like your home. How are the new samples going? Make the kids try them. But I know you have to taste them to see what they are going to be like to sell. Just try small pieces ;). I don't know if I could do it.

Cherie and Cal hope you are both feeling better.

Check back later.

01-26-2005, 12:22 PM
Kempy wanted to ask you since you work with hair stylists, what is in now for hair? I am getting mine trimmed or I don't know what yet. I am still growing this disaster haircut out since the beginning of August. That will teach me not to go to someone new again. This lady has been cutting my hair for almost 14 years. I can not believe I have been having to grow it out since then. Are shags in, perms, or one length styles? I usually go with one style, a layered trim but my side are still kind of short so I do not know what in the heck she is going to do with me. Well just thought I would ask? Do you still have layers and highlights like from your florida pictures? It was so cute and stylish in those pics. Thanks :)

01-26-2005, 02:31 PM
Anyone here . Just kidding I know everyone has stuff going on. I just had lunch and I have a minute to check in. I had a blueberry smoothie. Well I am off to hopefully get some excercise in. Have any of you seen that excercise ball on tv? The kids have a couple of big play balls like that. But I don't know if they are strong enough as the one on tv to do some sit-ups. It is suppose to be easier on your back. Maybe I will give it a try. I don't like the floor ones anyway. Check back later

01-26-2005, 03:01 PM
Noelle take care of yourself today. I guess you got something alittle alter than the rest of the country. Do you think that since you are not on the mainland that colds and things don't hit you as much? That guy was so wierd. I am with Julie I thought he might have been on something. The captions were pretty funny though. It was pretty cool to see Ponchatoula, LA on national TV. I don't think that has ever happened.

Julie I am just watching what goes in my mouth. I record eveything I eat in fitday and I write it down in a journal too. I have gotten to the point that I feel guilty if I don't record what I eat. I think that makes it worse when you get off plan. You have to see it in writing.

My hair is still the same as when we were in FL. I like it, at least for now. I am not really sure what is in style. I think it is different in different parts of the country. When I was in CA nobody had the same cut as me. I think we are alittle behind though. Start checking out Star magazine and see what the celebs are doing. I do that alot to see if I find something new and fun. I have to do something easy though. It gets so humid down here I need to have something I can throw back if it gets all frizzy. I hope that I helped.

01-26-2005, 03:25 PM
Kempy thanks for answering my hair questions. I might get a few highlights in it. But I don't know, I don't have a tan at all so it may not look right?? I was actually looking at some Christmas pictures of me from my mom and my hair looks like it has a red/auburn tint to it. I always just thought my hair was a brown but in the pics my brother's hair is brunettte and I noticed mine then. That style you have looks great on you, I loved the layers, it looked like a razor cut.
I might start recording too. But if I have a bad eating day, I wouldn't want dh to see it , I can eat more than him any day of the week :^:.
Be back later!!!!

01-26-2005, 06:24 PM
Hey girls!!!

Noelle, Get better babe. Brit said that strep throat is going around her school and half of the kids got sent home with fevers today so I am sure we will all be sick soon.

Kempy, You are doing so good!! I am having a tough time with it myself so you rock!!!

Julie, I never change my hairstyle. I am trying to let it grow back out partly because Jay likes long hair and partly because I dont want to go back to see my stylist since I am ALOT bigger than I was last time I was there. I hate it that I dont get out much so when I do see people I am drastically bigger to them. BUT..... It is getting on my nerves with the length so I guess I am gonna have to suck it up and get it done.

I was walking into the house from the bakery today and I was calling to Domino(the stray cat) well, I get up on the side steps and get ready to open the door and look across the street and I was being stared at by about 20 deer. They get fed by all my neighbors so they like to hang out. I didnt expect them to be out at 4 though. They were so pretty. I came inside and watched them out my bedroom window for a while. They were right up on one of my neighbors deck.

01-26-2005, 08:43 PM
Hey girls

Angie I know you don't want to go get a haircut because of the feelings of the way you look....but you are so pretty and try not to think what others are thinking even though I know it is hard, okay I will be honest....I don't want to go either, I have gained some weight and have pimple(at my age what the heck is up with that?),LOL . But you know what, everytime I get a hair cut I feel so much better, like my batteries are recharged and hopefully it will stop me from over eating and I will look in the mirror and say well your hair looks good now i have to work on my damn body . I hope you guys do not come down with strep throat....that would totally be the pits. I bet the deer were so beautiful. With the snow and all. They are calming to watch. Once in awhile I will see them across the street from my house. Have not for a while though. I think the neighbors dogs scare them away.

Tonight for dinner dh made mini meatloaves, they were really good, I am lucky I have a husband who likes to cook. I made more cornbread but we are all out of cornmeal now, thank God so I can make more of that stuff. Its like I have an addiction to cornbread and biscuits. I saw Carmen Electra on The View the other day. She is so beautiful, body, hair everything!! I wish. Well anyway she has a new excercise dvd out. Now don't be surprised but it is strip instructions. She said strippers have the best body. I told dh about it and it shows how to give a lap dance , like I would do that....NOT unless i had a few drinks in me, haha....but really I might buy it because I like her and she has a great body not because I want to become a stripper . I hope you guys don't think I am crazy!! Well going to get ready to watch AI and don't forget everyone who likes Paris and Nicole they have a one hour special on after AI. They do such stupid things, I just think it is funny.

Noelle, Cherie, and Cal you girls feel better soon. Hugs

Summer are you still hanging around? Hi!!

Hello to you too Kempy!!

01-26-2005, 08:53 PM
Hey girls, I'm feeling a little more human right now--I took another dose of some yummy cough/congestion medicine :dizzy:. Just tired though. It started pouring rain and I just curled up under my blanket and vegged out. Rick brought me some sushi for lunch but it just didn't taste that good, you know how your taste buds get all screwed up with that yucky sick mouth thang going on? Think I'll go drink a cup of soup for dinner later on.

Angie, I can imagine those big black eyes looking out at you. It made me think of that movie "Are We There Yet?", the one w/Ice Cube? They got lost in the forest and this deer came up by them, it was nice and gentle--at first--then the girl took a picture of it and freaked the poor thing out with the flash, it started to rear up and kick the man in the head, the crotch, just everywhere . Hey, I'm in the same boat w/you about not wanting to go to the hairdresser because of my size. I actually have 2 people i go to at different salons depending on what my self-image is . My regular gal who I've gone to for the past 5-6 years though, she does the best hair cuts and does a super job with the brow waxing. I sucked it up and went to her last month, even though I gained a bunch of weight since I saw her early last year. She didn't say anything because she's a sweetie.

Kempy, as far as not getting colds and flu as much as on the mainland, I think it's probably true due to the more temperate climate--but you know what I always worry about? Those foreign visitors from Asia, like China, Vietnam or even Thailand--like if someone would bring the darn bird flu over and spread it around. Hasn't happened yet, but that's what I think about :^:

01-26-2005, 08:56 PM
Julie, I saw her on the Conan Obrien show too. She is really pretty and so tiny. Did you watch their wedding show on MTV? I liked it because she seemed so easy but in reality her and Dave Navarro are really laid back and definately in love. I like to see when people are real.

01-26-2005, 08:57 PM
Woo Hoo Julie, Carmen Electra body, here you come! She is gorgeous though, maybe put a little less make up on? That gave me a chuckle about the lap dance

01-26-2005, 09:02 PM
One more thing...Carmen E. is definitely tiny but did you know she's probably taller than us? (Speaking for those of us who are 5'3" and under) I think she's around 5'4" Of course I probably outweigh her by about 100 lbs but still.... rofl

01-27-2005, 03:34 PM
Good morning girls...geesh, I'm the first one here today? That's a first  Still medicated but feeling a tad bit better. Michael had a field trip this morning to a marine animal park and he has no school tomorrow, so maybe I'll just veg out at home w/him tomorrow. I've been looking online at Las Vegas shows playing in March...I think I would like to see Celine Dion's New Day show, but Elton John's Red Piano show is also there the 2nd week of Feb. We still haven't finalized the exact dates and it's driving me nuts. Rick assures me that we will be going, but I'd really like to know NOW when the heck we are so I can start planning things to do instead of just wandering around aimlessly through the Strip. One thing's for sure, this is our first alone-time vacation w/out the kid so we should have a great time .

I wish I was there for the Motley Crue Concert...but i don't think it's gonna happen. Julie, when you see them in April(?), sneak in a audio recorder for me. Did anyone watch AI last night? THere were a lot more freaky looking/sounding people in Vegas than the LA auditions. Did you see that little Filipina girl, the really skinny one w/the blonde highlights? She had a good voice and made it through to Hollywood. I liked that big girl though, the one that sang the Alicia Keys song. I'm gonna root for her just because Kenny Loggins said there was an image problem, referring to her size. I bet she'll go far if this is truly a vocal contest and not a popularity one.

Anyway, how's everyone doing today? Hope to see more posts. Be back later.

01-27-2005, 04:04 PM
Hi Girls

Hey my puter is finally working....I have been trying to post and it wouldn't let me. Oh well, I am here, haha. It has been a busy morning for me and late this afternoon I go to get to my hair cut. I am so nervous. I hope she can fix this mess of layers since last August. She will probally be pissed I went to someone else . But I feel the need to pampered. I might ask her to give me a scalp massage with my shampoo. If there is no charge. Everything cost money these days. So right now I just had a late lunch and kind of veggin with the kids and I need to get ready. Plus her new salon is about 20-30 minutes away on the freeway. Good thing it is not a blizzard. Just cold as heck.

Noelle I hope you get your plans for Vegas set soon!! You will be leaving before you know it. Are you going for a week? How am I going to make it without you for a week :^:. I would love to see Celine. I bet it would be just wonderful. About Motley....I don't know if we are even going. I have a feeling dh may surprise me, but I doubt it. Who knows. I will try and hint around :p. I loved the girl last night on AI who sang the Alicia Keys song. I felt so bad for her when she had to take listening about her "image problem". You never know when she gets to Hollywood she may look totally different. The skinny cocktail waitress was good but something just wasn't right about her, I can't figure it out. I mean she was pretty but maybe to showy?

Well girls going to try and call Mom and then get the kids ready and then finally myself! Check back later. I hope you all do too!

01-27-2005, 04:42 PM
Oh yeah, I loved that other Vegas show girl who was in the Treasure Island pirate show, she was kinda petite and was wearing that pink "ME" shirt with the "pick" bead necklace. Her voice was awesome. I'd like to see her in the top 10. How about that awful psycho--I mean psychic? I guess I'll stop now, I could on and on about this show as you guys well know....

01-27-2005, 05:57 PM
Sorry I am so late. I had a few clients today. Two of which I didn't even have when I went in the morning. That is a good thing. I will take that eveyday. I made an appointment with the University business development center for the 11th of Feb. I am hoping that they can help me with some marketing ideas. I really don't know what I should be doing to get more clientel. They said that they will help me in any way that they can. The great thing is that it is free to me.

Noelle your trip is just right around the corner. He better get off his butt and give you some dates. I still want to go back there so bad. Joe and I would blow all of our money though. We like to play Blackjack.

I didn't watch AI last night. Joe and I watched Lost. That is one strange show. I think that is why I keep watching it. I am trying to figure out what the heck is going on.

Well, I need to go let the girls out and play with them a little b4 it is time to cook dinner. I'll jump back on a little later. Hope to see eveyone today.

01-27-2005, 09:21 PM
Hi girls

Noelle that "psychic" girl well, uhhhh....the dress says it all. I could not believe her mother. I actually felt bad for her because she was so confident. I liked the "pick me" girl too. You can talk AI as much as you want, I love the show just as much as you ;). And oh my gawd, Noelle you didn't even mention my favorite part of last night's show....when Simon planted one on Paula. You KNOW I want those two toghether ;).

Kempy that sounds like a good idea to get more clients. I would let you do some work on me if we lived closer .

Angie I did see Till Death do Us Part. I think they are really in love and hope they make it.

Well just got done eating my dinner. Frozen pizza. It was a busy night though for me. I got my hair cut this afternoon which was fun. I felt like I was having adult time conversation. Like girl talk!! My hair is short but in a couple of weeks it will settle hopefully into what I like. You know the pic. Well anyway there was this botique in the shopping outlet and I realized it was my stepdad's birthday so I went and picked him up a gift and dropped it off at my mom's house and came home and ate dinner. I am tired, it has been go go go all day. Well I might flip through the channels to see what is on.

Come on girls let get posting. WOOHOO!!

01-28-2005, 11:21 AM
Good Morning Girls

God I am so tired today :coffee:, I have no idea why....But I will come out of it, may have a cup of coffee. Well just a quickie from me and to pull us of the SECOND page! Got to go grab something to eat. Hope we all get time to post today! I know alot of you are sick or busy. I hope to be here more today too. Check back later. Julie

01-28-2005, 12:01 PM
I am having a really bad week. Sorry I haven't been around, just feeling depressed and unmotivated. I can't get over my cold, the weather is so wacky right now. This morning, woke up to it raining.. by the time I got to work it was snowing.. everything is covered now. Two days ago, it was in the 60's. We are on a rollercoster with our weather lately, and it's not helping my mood. I am STILL having an extremely bad time sleeping. Two days ago, I started taking 5-HTP, hoping that it would help. So far I haven't seen a difference, other than I know I am not having the night sweats. But not sure if that is just coicencidence or not. I may try to start taking some valerian root to see if it helps my sleep... but because I am not getting sleep, I am cranky, unmotivated and depressed. See my cycle here?

Anyway... I drank my last diet coke today. I am going to try to wean myself off my cokes and stay away from caffinee for awhile and see if that might help my sleep. And I am going to start to force myself starting this weekend to do at least 30 minutes on my treadmill of moderate exercise (as my doctor recommends) to see if that will help with my sleep cycles as well.

I haven't had time to go read the posts.. again, my unmotivated self is to blame... but I will try.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, I am really going to try to drag myself up.... it's helped just to outline the small steps that I need to do to see if that will help.

Talk soon!

01-28-2005, 02:48 PM
Hey girls

Cherie I wish you were feeling better. And sleeping better. Are the girls going with their Dad this weekend? It sounds like you are really having a wide range of weather....I would take it over mine though. It has finally reached twenty degrees and freezing rain for tomorrow. If it would reach sixty I think I would lay out in the sun .

Well just checking to see if anyone is here or was here. I am so glad its Friday. Even though I don't work out of the house it is nice to get a break from the kids on the weekend. Everyone was not kidding when they said they are a 24/7 job . I just want to sleep in and let my poor dry hands rest. They are bleeding they are so dry. I might go pick up eucerin(sp?) lotion this weekend. Swiss Ives is not doing the job . Well anyway I am so motivated to get ten pounds off of my body. I don't know if I am going to do a weigh in tomorrow because I think I have gained. But I got a good round of cardio in this morning. So I think I will end with that positive note :). Hope to see you guys here.

01-28-2005, 02:54 PM
HEY!!!! I just got back from buying some stuff for the bakery and now I have to go get some work done. I will check back later.

Cherie, Get better Babe!!

Julie, My hands are cracked now too.

01-28-2005, 04:23 PM
Hi Angie :wave:glad you got some more stuff for the bakery!! It must feel so exciting with it all coming together.

:wave:Hi everyone else.

01-28-2005, 04:38 PM
Noelle and Kempy if you read this just a little afternoon coffee talk, haha....remember the guy Leroy Wells that was the last person to audition on AI, the african american man who was like bouncing off the walls and you couldn't even understand him? Well he was in jail when it was on TV. He has charges for pot and drugs and firing a deadly weapon. I just new that guy was trouble, funny....but trouble. Haha....

01-28-2005, 05:07 PM
Leroy Wells...hmmm, he had to be on something during his audition. That guy was just too out there.

Not much going on today except for trying to get all my invoices posted and paid for the end of the month. The kids are off school today including my 12 y.o. niece so I snuck away from the house to get this paperwork done then I'll be heading home early for a little afternoon delight. Oh wait, Rick's not gonna be there . I have that song stuck in my head after watching the movie Anchorman w/Will Ferrell. My throat doesn't hurt anymore but I've got this irritating sinus thing going on that gives me a headache toward the afternon--that's when I need my meds and a nap

Julie, I'm using an Aveeno intense relief hand cream right now. I have really dry skin on my hands which crack and bleed sometimes. My derm told me that the Neutrogena hand cream was one of the best. I used it for a while but it was a little greasy for me. I like this Aveeno one, it goes on and doesn't feel tacky or greasy, and is suppose to moisturize for 24 hours (it does!) and last through hand washing.

(((Cherie))), hugs girl. You're entitled to a funky mood every once in a while. Just ride it out. I'm glad to see you posting though, we were starting to worry about ya.
Try and have a restful weekend and get better soon.

Angie, I like shiny and new stuff. Can't wait to see what you're gonna do with your store. Are you still serving your regular clients through your new store or is that gonna change?

Gotta go for now but hello to all and I'll be back later. Have a good one.

01-28-2005, 05:14 PM
Noelle I hope your cold gets better. Sinus pain in really terrible. Keep taking your medicines and call the doctor if you think you need an antibiotic. I hope little Michael doesn't get sick. Maybe I will have to check out the Aveeno stuff. I know I don't like the stuff either that feels like grease on your hands. Thanks :)

01-28-2005, 06:45 PM
Hey, I can't post much today. We have friends coming in for the weekend so i wont be on for a few days. I wanted to pop on and let you guys know where I was. I will get back on as soon as I can. Chat with ya soon.

01-28-2005, 10:07 PM
Good Night Girls

I am soooo tired I am going to try and turn in early. Dh surprised me with steaks when he came home from work. That was really sweet of him. They were lean yet still moist. We grilled them outside. And he also bought some shrimp, so we had shrimp cocktail. Overall an OP day for me. I feel kind of run down. Probally just lack of sleep, went to bed to late and dd was up at four . I hope she sleeps late tomorrow!! Well everyone have a wonderful weekend. I really don't have any plans. Dd wants to go to McDonalds or Dairy Queen. I won't be ordering anything though ;). Anyone have anything exciting planned?

Have fun Kempy with your friends this weekend. You and Joe sound like such wonderful entertainers.

Get better Noelle, Cherie, and Cal I hope that BP came down. Hi Angie and Summer.

01-28-2005, 11:00 PM
Hey girls, I'm back in the Fr@#@!XXn' office right now. A little emergency came up and I had to go back. It's winding down now so I'll be heading back home. The only good news is that I'm childless this evening as my sis took Michael to her house to sleepover. :cb: I can have some peace and quiet finally!

Julie, your hubby is a sweetie for bringing you such a great dinner. Sounds like a good healthy low-fat and protein meal. No plans for me this weekend, except laundry--it's never ending! Have a restful night.

Kempy, enjoy your company.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekends  I'll try and pop in tomorrow. Good night all.

01-29-2005, 09:33 AM
Hey it is Saturday. My house has been hectic so far. Let's see....Corey has decided to move in with his grandparents so he can "have his own space" . He traded rooms with Brit a while back because he was always in with Alicia watching tv. I told him at the time to make sure that is what he really wanted because Brit wouldnt give up the room once she got it. She is a miserable little thing. haha  Well, now he wants his own room and guess what I only have 3 bedrooms so he chose to move to his grammies. They live in the same town as us but it still hurts to know that he would choose his own room over living with his family. I figured I would let him try it if that is what he wants and maybe he will decide he would rather live with his family. I doubt it though because these are Jays parents and they spoil him rotton. That is why he goes to there house on weekends and vacations. As long as he is happy I guess.

Brit's fish died today. Poor old fishy. You guys may remember that I got him for her on her birthday the year I came here. I put him in a glass and sat him on the table at her surprise supper that night to see if she would notice him.(she didnt)

Oh yeah and if this weekend hasnt been miserable enough another deer committed suicide in front of the delivery car this morning and that is totalled now. Geesh, that is the third car that he has gone through since springtime with them damn deer. It is so unavoidable because he delivers at 3 in the morning and that is when they are running.

But hey on the bright side.....I won 12 bucks on a scratch ticket this morning. hahaha Jay said with the way his morning has been he better not scrath them.

I will check back in later. Have a fun weekend girls!!!

01-30-2005, 05:03 PM
Hey girls I am scooping us from page where is everyone? Sorry I did not get on yesterday, check in, but not to many posts yesterday so I didn't have to much to say.

Angie I bet Corey will back at home in no time. He will miss you and the pets. I am sorry, I can't imagine my son saying he wants to move out. But he will probally get ticked off at me someday and say it . Hang in there it must be hard. And you poor things three cars??? That is why I never like to drive home from my Dad's in the dark! Those things pop out of nowhere and run across the road. Thank God Jay was not hurt though. Congrats on winning the money, that would make my day ;).

Well Kempy hope you are having fun with your guests. And hi to everyone else. I have to figure out supper for tonight....I have no idea what to make. Kinda of in a pissy and depressed feeling mood. I can't take this weather anymore. Sorry for complaining about it again. It is just getting on my nerves. I want weather above 40 degrees. Probally *****y because I have not been on a darn vacation in eight years. I might start tanning at the end to middle of Feburary just to bring my mood up. I know it is not good for you but I heard it is great for winter blues. Well off to maybe watch some old home videos....I can't believe how younger I look. I feel like I am getting old watching those things :dizzy:. They are fun though because I love seeing the kids as babies.

01-30-2005, 05:11 PM
Noelle forgot to say I hope you had a peaceful night. I am thinking about sending the kiddos to Grandma's for the night(maybe dh too) and just listen to silence . Hope you got caught up with the laundry. We did loads today too. Sheets, clothes, and shower curtains. Have a great Sunday.

01-30-2005, 11:21 PM
Good Night Girls

01-30-2005, 11:28 PM
Just realized tomorrow is the last day of January!! I am going to try for excercise and get extra water in this week!! Talk to you tomorrow :).

01-30-2005, 11:47 PM
Hello Girls,

I know the weekends are usually slow. I'm back to work tomorrow. Even though I've had the past week off, I don't feel that I've really rested. Hubbie is upset because he thinks the Dr should have given me 2 weeks. She would have, but I asked to try just 1 week. Dr did change the dosage of my meds and I do feel better. I've been pretty busy this weekend trying to get everything taken care of. We pulled all our savings and paid off nearly every bill we have. Right now we have only the house, car, and student loan. We paid off every credit card, the other car, and a couple of other things. Hubby thinks that will help take some stress off me. It does feel good knowing that I will not have any bills coming in the mail anymore; except household.

I'm going to start counting down to spring break soon. I know I've got it down to 3 weeks to Presidents' Day then 2 weeks after that. I do need a good vacation.

Hello to everyone; no time tonight to go back and read any posts from this weekend.

Have a great week.

Good Morning beautiful ladies!!!!!

I had to bribe the girls to share a room.(it is always easier if they think it is their idea  ) So Brit gets her contacts and I bid on a pokemon Gameboy and game for Alicia. And I got my boy back home with his family where he belongs whether he likes it or not!!!!!!! I am going to build a four poster type bed on Alicia's bed so she can have curtains up and close them if she wants to be "away" from Brit. It is the best I can do until someone wants to buy my house and even then I cant guarantee 4 bedrooms.

I have eaten like a total hog this weekend. I made turkey and chocolate velvet cake(which is real butter, cream and chocolate) :yikes: I havent been a good girl at all.

I am going to Rockland this afternoon and hopefully I will get all the rest of the equipment I will need to open. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the guy has all we need anyways. We wont be opening up until the end of March but I want to have everything ready anywas to take some of the pressure off.

I got some really old postcards from ebay and a train ticket to Kineo house from 1880. I had people bid me up so high on them all. I paid 37 bucks apeice when everything else was going for $7.00 or so....I got even though.....I went and bid on things they wanted and got them really high too and stopped before I would get stuck with it. hahahahahaha dont @*+# with me!!!!!!!

I will check back later.

Hey girls, happy-cr@ppy Monday . It's been raining buckets here all weekend and into this morning. It's stopped for now but everything's just soaked and muddy. I am feeling better except for the sinus thing still, and with the rain and muggy weather it's not making it any easier. The weekend wasn't that great since some of my plans fell through w/Rick, and we had some disagreements, but by Sunday we were fine again. He took me shopping which is always a good remedy for a fight :s:. I got some awesome deals on some clothes--I picked up some long-sleeved shirts for my Vegas trip, and even got one for just $2.49. Also picked up a new pair of Lands' End cropped jeans and a nice dress pants in case we go to any shows. I haven't worn a dress in a while and don't plan to (don't want to look PG when I'm not :^: ).

I had some excitement yesterday morning. My parents had gone out to their usual Sunday breakfast, and my sis was downstairs. Rick and Michael were out of the house. I heard our downstairs gate open then the dogs started barking like crazy. I didn't think anything of it at first because I knew my sis was down there. Well, the dogs just kept going nuts all ferocious like, so I poke my head out the window looking out over the yard and there's this strange lady in the backyard. Now, the back of our property is fenced in completely, the stairs from the upstairs is gated at the bottom. Both fences have "beware of dog" signs. So I yell at this woman standing in my yard, pinned against the fence, 'what are you doing in the yard?!?!!!!" She looks up at me and points to the back gate, saying something to the effect that she needed to get back there. Now the property behind the house is state owned and is fenced on both sides from each street so no one should even be in there. I couldn't believe she just entered our property and walked in with the 2 dogs and all. I yelled at her some more, telling her that she's not supposed to be in the yard, that she had no right to come in without asking and what would happen in the dogs bit her? She didn't apologize or anything, so I yelled at her at the top of my lungs, "GET OUT OF HERE! GET OUT OF MY YARD". I can't hear if she says anything because the dogs are still barking and I'm trying to call them into the house. She books it up the stairs toward the front of our house and disappears. I go and check the gate, which she left wide open (that stupid b*tch) and then I go out into the super-slick-muddy yard, and the back gate latch was partially open, like she had come through there. I was so pissed, for one thing, that she had just come into the yard, and #2, that she freakin' could've got bit and it still would've been our fault. Some people are so damned stupid. Then later on, my sis goes outside and finds a small pile of clothes and a blanket in the covered area (right outside my bedroom window!) and we can only conclude that the lady dropped her things when the dogs came running to protect the property. So weird I tell you, I feel like I'm living in the twilight zone.

Hmm, back from lunch and feeling like a stuffed pig. I didn't eat that much, it's just that my jeans are tight :o . The eye-candy boy started work this morning. I had to make copies of his ID's and stuff so I do know that he is 6'1" and around 200 lbs, :T  I'm so bad, I know. I even told Rick that a having a little eye-candy around never hurt anyone. He threatened to tell the guy what I said, but I told him he better not say anything or else the guy might sue me for sexual harrassment or something .

Angie, you are my type of ebayer . I am the get-even type as well. I can't understand though, why sometimes when an item is pretty common, that some of the bidders get so fixated on that particular itemm instead of looking around at other sellers for the same item. I'm sure your items were pretty uncommon though, and besides, you can right these off as advertisement expense right? You're going to use them to decorate the place so might as well take the write off. I can't wait to see what you do with the place. I'm sure it'll be awesome. So much so that some of us will have to come down in person to see it--and you of course. Glad to hear Corey is back. I bet he missed you anyway.

Julie, you go girl :cb: I told Rick I would like to take a year off and just get into shape--like join a gym and get a personal trainer, etc. He said yeah, right. I don't watch Desperate Housewives but I did see bits and pieces of an episode where Eva Longoria is fooling around w/that HS kid (the yard boy?). I don't know the story line but it looks like a fun show, all that gossipy stuff and innuendo.

Cherie, how ya feeling lady? Just take it one day at a time. Has the weather settled down for you over there?

Cal, sorry you had to go back to work so soon. If you had stayed out longer could you have been paid through disability insurance? I know it's only a portion of your salary but at least you had some time off right? And I think that's great you guys paid off your bills--that should be a major stress reliever.

Kempy, hope you had a great weekend partying w/your friends. Any plans for Fat Tuesday next week?

Gotta run for now. I'll try to pop back in later.
