Hi Marie lets race lol.I just had a week and a half off with nothing to do so i went to the gym.Since i do have all these miles i'm going to try to out do everyone this month lol.I have never led at the end of a month once so i'm going for it this month :coffee: or is it the coffee talking lol.

Is anyone here walking "real" miles outside ? I dont have a tread of bike so its all done by foot. Just wondering if there are any other "footers" here. LOL

Hey, Dawn. All of my miles are done outside, too -- mostly walking, but I get some from tennis, softball, football or basketball. I'm too cheap to get a gym membership! :D

In the summer its all outside with the bike and walking.The winter gets too cold and i hate the cold so i do most of it inside during the winter.

Jina- what can we count exactly?....I mean heck I go out and play sports at my Dads and hike up and down his "san francisco style streets" about every weekend....but I only count what I actually walk in "excercise style".....Im confuzzled here....

Marie and Herb: Here are the rules we base our miles off of for the Equator Trek (just copied this from an old Equator Trek thread).

"Record your mileage as follows:

If you are walking on a treadmill or using other equiptment that records mileage, use that mileage for your workout.

If you are doing weights, a video, Gym class or other type of exercise that doesn't have an odometer, count every 20 minutes as 1 mile."

As far as "what counts," I think it's based on your judgment. If it's something more than you'd usually do in a day -- like extra walking, hiking, playing a sport, etc. -- go ahead and count it. I can even remember Star counting "bedroom activities" as miles. I personally don't do that, but it's up to you, I guess! :D

Finally checking in before month's/year's end with my 74 miles for December. While we didn't even come close to making it 'around the Equator' this year, we all deserve a big ol' pat on the back and a "high-five"! Good going everyone! We're only short, what, about 19,000 miles or so, lol?
