WW Clubs and Groups - TFI Friday (at last!)

Hi Guys! I know I've been MIA for the last couple of days - I've been lurking but banned myself from posting to try and get out of the procrastinating habit. It almost worked, but unfortunately I think the ultimate answer will be to work on a computer that doesn't have internet access. Eek! Scary proposition! So much has been happening these last few days - first of all,

Ali - CONGRATS on getting to goal (and even going beyond it). That is SO FAB, are you going to get some 'official' photos done to celebrate the occasion? If you do, remember to post one here, won't you (says she who still hasn't posted even 1 ... I'm working on it though ...)?

And speaking of photos - Kim, Suzanne, YAY! for posting yours. They're both lovely, and it is SO GOOD to be able to put more names to faces. OF course, neither of you look even remotely like the Kim and Suzanne I had in my head, but I've adjusted!!!

And Angie - YIPPEE! on being below 200. I am so close but stalling a bit, so you have inspired me to get going again. YOU GO GIRL!!!

Also - Lori - welcome to the 'soon-to-be-smug-marrieds' club (aka, congrats on your engagement!). We just did the preliminary bits (ie booked the venue and the registrar) for June 1st 2002, but that's all so far, so like you I'm enjoying hearing everyone else's engagement/wedding stories.

Ok, this will be short (for me, the champion waffler!) as I am DETERMINED to finish the introductory section of that chapter TODAY. Will prob be back later ... HUGS everyone!

ps:- I answered 'early to bed' on the poll because though I'm a research student and don't technically have weekends (very flexible timetable ...perfect for procrastination), blokey is always so knackered come Friday, we just veg out and he falls asleep (usually by about 9pm!).

Lola I agree I thought in the end it would be Colby. I must say that I never liked him much, but after last night I really respect him a lot more. I like the way he handled his loss, and I also that he voted Keith out and not Tina. That showed a lot of him I hadn't seen before. Going against Keith would have been a sure thing for him.

morning girls! TGIF! In less than 4 hours i'll be on the train to paris - yippee!! unfortunately it looks like i'll be getting 3 days of french rain while london gets some unexpected sunshine. never mind.

tonya - i don't know joan lunden, so i looked up her picture on the internet. nothing like me, unfortunately!
i'm a bad daughter. i was thinking about engagements and remembered my mum telling me that her and my dad were married within 9 months of meeting each other. i was just working out how many years they'd been together (30) when i twigged i'd missed their anniversary. oops. do you get belated anniversary cards with the postmark stamped last month?
stacey - you made me laugh!! i'm so glad we can all share these body stories! i tell you, taking communal showers at the gym really opens your mind to the range of different bodies out there. it actually makes you feel good about your own. it's not that anyone has a bad body, we're just all different and it makes such a nice change to see something other than skinny models with "perfect" bods.
ali - don't disappear on us now!!

Suzanne - ace pics! I WILL do some, just as soon as I can track down a scanner (college one has died and we have been waiting ages for a new one). Angie, do you have photoshop or a similar programme? That's how I've always sized down photos. Eek! Have to go! Am about to head off to eye doctor where I will have to confess I haven't been doing my eye exercises (convergence problems). Oh, the guilt ... and there's a lovely guilt-soothing cake shop right around the corner from the eye hospital ... Hmm ...

I didn't get to see the reunion b/c my vcr messed up. I did tape the 2 hour show, though.

HI all... I had a Tupperware party to go to last night... went in with 13 points to spare and splurged on chips and dip and a Coke! Don't feel too guilty, just a little. Today we are having a chip adn dip afternoon snacky thing and I made sure we got baked tostitos and salsa! Yah me!

I voted that the weekend is 2 days off... however I am like Suzanne and I use it too catch up with all the things I neglected over the week!

Angie... you need to make the resolution smaller to increase the size. It takes a little playing around. Try 600 for the resolution, if that doesn't work, go to 300. IF the pic is still clear, then it should show up OK on here.

As for Survivor. I knew if it was between Colby and Tina, Tina would win. There wasn't as much backstabbing going on in this Survivor. Also... Remember that Tina could have won a challenge, but she gave it up to let Keith win so he wouldn't be voted off. It was the first one where they stood on the polls in the water. So really she could have won one!!

Hi everyone! Are we sharing boyfriend pics? I've been going photo happy lately because when I had some photos developed at Wal-Mart, I got the service that puts them online so I could download them. Here's one of Brian and I on New Year's Eve. We both look goofy and I have a few extra chins. Ugh.

Thank goodness its almost the weekend. DH is going on a fishing trip tonight so I get the evening to myself. I think I am going to pamper myself and enjoy some wine. Then, tomorrow I'm going to hit the mall and finish up my cruise shopping.

OK, here's my question...Do ya'll think that strappy black patent shoes will look fine with a long two-piece, pink silky evening outfit? The outfit is a long A-line skirt and a spagetti strap fitted top. The pink is a medium pink shade with a few beads sewn in. I was going to buy some silver strapy shoes, but I really don't want to have to pack an extra pair of shoes that I can only wear with the pink outfit.

Jen ~ I'm with you there on the Friday snack thing. We all go to happy hour here, so that is always a challenge.

Lori ~ Yea for you! We got the church and the hall the day after we we're engaged! It was a year and a half early but someone came in right after us to book the same date. You sound like you are right on track. I would recommend looking for dresses early on. I waited and had a scare towards the end (alterations mess). Also, I found very reasonable bridesmaids dresses on Chadwicks.com. They were a simple long black dress with a shawl and looked good on all 7 of my attendants. Keep us posted. I love weddings.

I just calculated my points from yesterday and I went over by 4 1/2. It's the baseball game's fault! I went to a game at our minor league park and had a hotdog and a beer. Not too bad in itself, but I had McDonald's for lunch. Oh, well, back on track today.

I'm so glad it's Friday. I didn't do much all week but I want it to be over anyway! I have a court hearing this afternoon to cover but hopefully it won't be long and I can write the story and get out of here!

I put that Friday means almost no work for two days, but it's also the only time I really get with my b/f. He works every third weekend, but I have him for the next two weekends! Yay! We're going to a strawberry festival tomorrow. Yummy!

Well, I'm going to TRY and do a little work. It's so hard to work when it's 80 degrees outside!

Ok, well eye doctor was cool and I avoided the cakes (only by default, I met a friend when I was about to go in the shop and got talking ...) so YIPPEE for me. And I've almost finished the introductory section of my chapter - just redrafting now and then I can go home. YIPPEE again! And this weekend we are going to catsit for my parents, and I can't wait to see my furry baby again. She's getting old now, so I make the most of every opportunity to see her.

Very sad about Colby... but glad he let his conscience be his guide. If he or Elizabeth couldn't win, then I guess I'm glad Tina did... although except for getting the rice back after the storm, I'm not sure she really exhibited Survivor attributes. But a great lady, nonetheless.

Lolly... That THING is called a loon. It's a duck like bird that is absolutely beautiful. They are found mostly in Northern WI and MN (Hey Canadians... do you have Loons???). They make the most beautiful bird call of any bird I have heard. Anyway, they are not this big, but we had our reception at a northwoods themed hotel and this was outside. We just had to get a shot with us on it. They had a huge moose too, but it stands maybe 15 feet high and I couldn't get up that high!! :)

Tilley... I do LOVE your hair. Mine is thin and I hate it.

Canadian here.....yes we have loons. I LOVE the noise they make. It is so peaceful. They love it up in Northern Ontario

Friday? Sometimes it means a candle party, sometimes happy hour with hubby, sometimes it means ‘Oh no, a weekend of doing all the things around the house I didn’t get done during the week’. Tonight it means Av’s game!!! (Lisa!) Oh, and don’t forget the beer!

What a Monday this is turning out to be! I don’t know how anyone lives in Seattle b/c this weather is so depressing. Add in all of the problems this morning and you’ve got a recipe for ‘get me outta here!’ Over on points again yesterday. I made this mistake of not eating lunch – ended up munching instead and drank 2 regular pops :mad:

My hair's usually dark brown... or darker at least. This was at the end of last summer.

I do get that about Ben a lot. My grandmother used to take him aside and tell him that he should marry me :) Oh lord. We do have a private joke about that. His parent even kid about it. In fact I had to get their permissin when I wanted to get a tatoo. It would never work! :) He's the best friend a girl could have though.

Thanks for the compliments on bf. That picture isn't even that great of him. He's got crystal blue eyes and dark hair. He's half greek and half english (grew up in Wales) so he's got a cute little accent too. :) We met on the internet....go figure! :D

Suzanne... I'm still waiting on my cutie :( Haven't met a nice cute boy since New years... but there is this one guy at work. Peter.. I think he's interested in my friend though... but she's taken. So maybe I can schmooze him! He seemed jealous that I was going to John Mellencamp at the end of the summer (dorky - I know - but I love JM) and I have an extra ticket so maybe by the time the concert rolls around......... he can accompany me.

Brenda - at the risk of sounding SWF, I always said once I had an apartment that allowed dogs.. or a home with a yard - that I would get a chocoalte lab. My family has had a black lab, Harley for 10 years. He's still around - thank god. He's really healthy for his age. But I definately love choc labs. I've always wanted one named Maple.

I am at the internet cafe today, got some chores done.. Wow, I am actually bored for once. I don't start work for a week and now I get to do nothing, this is weird, especially from a student's point of view.

All your pics are soooo fabulous:) And so are you honey's :)

Tilley: One of my best friend's is a guy too, now we live about a 20 minute walk from each other. I love him dearly (platonically), but as a couple we would NEVER work out what so ever, I prefer the whole friends motif for us.

Sorry I don't have much time to post... I am still trying to find a parking spot. Right now my car is parked at the Rideau centre which is a 20 minute walk from my apartment, it's cheaper than feeding the meter.

I just want to go home and relax! He bought movie passes but still hasn't relented to B.J diary. Hope hope. He has a strong feeling it's totally chick flick and no relief for him. :)
Brenda: yes, it was CBS. I really wish I could have seen the reunion. A friend of mine at work taped it and after her friend borrows it, then another co-worker gets it then it will be my turn. Hopefully by then, it's been played as a rerun.

Hi all thanks :) for the congrats on my 5.25 loss. I am so worried I will gain because of it. I love all the pictures, I would post one but my scanner and I aren't friends, I'll have to let baby sister do it.

Lisa- Your Ben is just a doll. My best friend forever was a guy but he got married and she's...odd. She won't let him be around any of his old friends :?: and he has changed.
