Will check in later, Peggy slavika 05-03-2001, 08:46 AM Good Morning Thank you Peggy . "Talk" to everybody later. Slavika Geri 05-03-2001, 10:07 AM Good morning all. Thank you Peggy for saving Slavika from the dreaded task. It is good to have friends who will help you with hard work. Today is the day!!!! ROOT CANAL!!!!! Please pray for me. It is scheduled for 12:15 our time. The endodontist is supposed to be very good even though she looks like a little girl. You oldtimers know how hard this will be for me. They gave me sleeping pill for last night (which is good---I have been averaging about 2 hours sleep for the last week) so I slept well. I take another one an hour before the procedure. Then they will use the nitrous oxide. So, hopefully, this will all be a blur by this time tomorrow. Don't forget to pray. LilyG 05-03-2001, 10:36 AM For starting the new thread. It is hard to beat Slavika especially when she starts them when eveyone is asleep! Geri: I will be thinking of you today I know how hard its gonna be for you. But you will make it thru with flying colors! painter5 05-03-2001, 12:48 PM Geri good luck today. I don't envy you. Been there, done that. I hated that big thing that they put in your mouth. It reminded me of a funnel. I was trying hard to not have a panic attack in the chair. I get claustrophobic when I am in a place and know that I can't leave. Slavika and Trudy I hope that you only say wonderful things about us at tea time since you "know" us so well. I'll give you a hint - my friends think that a lot of the blonde jokes are about me. I can't imagine why. I have a hard time telling the time when we are in another time zone. They ask me for the minutes and say they will figure out the hours. I have a mockingbird in the back yard. He sings all day and last nite I heard him singing at 2:30. I wonder when he sleeps. I just love to hear him. I had 2 wild canaries at one of the feeders yesterday. It is the one that Mr. Squirrel can't get to. He is a little pig. Trudy we are flying to New Orleans. There is a good internet site we use for good air fare. Flew to Portland, Oregon last fall for $178 round trip. And that was leaving from Greater Cincinnati which is a Delta Hub so you can't afford to leave from there. Found a nice hotel on the internet in the Garden District. We are so excited you would think that we were leaving tomorrow. I am tired from getting up so early and doing Slavika's job and doing my 2 mile walk already. Have a good day, Peggy We are taking the in-laws out for early bird dinner tonight. survivor 05-03-2001, 03:10 PM Maria - Don't think I thought you were whining, not at all. Just if you EVER get a little down about not being at home, think about us people who rarely get over 100 miles away from our little piece of heaven! You are such a world traveler and I am a tiny bit envious (okay, a LOT!) of you! Peggy - What a trooper! And guess what we have in common? My friends think I have "blonde roots" too. :?: You have figured out the best way to travel, I think--economically! Slavika - Just like everyone has told me lately, keep plugging away with you WW program. Just 7 pounds isn't that much! Remember how daunting it was when you first started? And no, a dishwasher, even though it should, doesn't last forever! I remember my first--thought I had died and gone to heaven. Now with only the two of us, I could not do without it for more than a day! Makes a nice way to hide dishes until I have a full load. Geri - By the time you read this, your ordeal will be over, I hope!:D Seems like last time you had some problems at the dentist, but I kind of forgot what they were--was it scheduling? Yes, and as I write this I am praying that you have an easy time. Little Gabe has his surgery tomorrow. Thanks all for praying for him! I just know he will be okay! Glenda Trudy 05-03-2001, 04:32 PM Peggy ..Looks like you were up at the crack of dawn to help out Slavika. I get a little claustrophobic too... I hate crowded elevators, or being stuck at a railway crossing with cars ahead, beside and behind me. I think it pays to check out the web for deals when travelling. Geri.. by now the dreaded deed must be done. I was petrified last year when I had root canal done, so I know how you feel. When I got the bill I went into cardiac arrest. Glenda.. little Gabe will be just fine, he has a lot of prayers going his way. A friend is a nurse in the Intensive Care Nursery and she sure has some sad stories. It's awful what some babies have to go through. Slavika.. so... what did you do this morning when you found out Peggy was filling in for you? I had to take my Aunt to the hospital this morning, she was having an ugly mole removed. But, when we were getting into the van to come home, I shut the door... on her wrist.... OUCH... :o .. it was an accident and I felt just awful. Luckily no damage was done. My Mom is quite short and when she gets out of the van she has to kind of slide off the seat. Well, today her heels slid on some loose sand (left over from sanding the slippery streets) and she darn near slid right onto the cement. I managed to stop her and hubby came running and no damage was done. :spin: I am not going to press my luck, I will stay home the rest of the day and hopefully nothing else will happen. :dizzy: Bye for now, will check back later  Geri 05-03-2001, 04:53 PM Trudy, you better not transport your mother and your aunt in your van anymore. It doesn't sound like they will survive your help. he he. The root canal went okay. I didn't bite anyone, scream, or break down into tears hysterically. The nitrous oxide never took effect so I sat there like a big girl and took the whole thing in. They even thanked me for being such a good patient. I should have got that on tape so I can prove it was said. The novacaine is wearing off, though, and my mouth hurts. DH's new computer came today (I told him you said to get the pentium IV, Lily, and he listened to you. Right now he is putting it in. You know he upgraded the old one, and it is so much faster----it really is. In fact, if he had known that he could improve the quality of the old one (which is mine now), so cheaply (less than $300), he wouldn't have bought the new one. He has been working steadily since Sat. and has done a good job. We have to get a new mouse. The old rolling mouse won't work with the new stuff. It really "smokes" (the 'puter, that is). The best part is it is downstairs, with the cable I am online all the time, so I can check in and post in a hurry. So, unfortunately for you guys, I will be posting a lot more. Bought 3 more pair of shorts today---Liz Claiborne twills for $18 a pair---and this season's too. Am going to take back some of the cheap ones I bought last week. These are so much nicer. And I am thinking that I might have to exchange them for 10's. I got 12's, but they look pretty big. We will see after I try them on. Heaven's to Betsy----I am falling off to a short ton now:) LilyG 05-03-2001, 07:43 PM Geri: Im sure your glad the Root canal is over! The hard part is afterwards. Good for you DH getting the pentium 4 He will be happier for sure! Trudy: I think I would stay home to if I was you. Doesnt sound like you had a very good day. Im sure your Aunt understands. Peggy: my DH is always looking for good deal on the internet to. He finds them all the time. Much better than me. When are you going to New Orleans? Sounds like so much fun! Glenda: Will be praying for Gabe tomorrow. Slavika: You can get those 7 pound off in no time! slavika 05-03-2001, 11:46 PM  Hi Everybody "SOMEBODY" :o allegedy was eating pistachio nuts a couple of days ago and "thought" they had dropped a shell in the dishwasher but didn't see it, so never did anything more about it. That "SOMEBODY" had the dishwasher repair man here today at 1:00 and had to pay $45.00 for the removal of the alleged pistachio nut from the pump. So....the dishwasher is fine. LOL :D Geri I'm happy for you that your root canal is a thing of the past. There is nobody on the planet that hates going to the dentist more then me, so I sure understand. :) Peggy see, all that "hard" work you did this morning has tired you out. In the "olden" days a group of women like us, would maybe have been, pen and paper "pen pals", but we really have come a long way. Yep, you bet Trudy and I only say nice things about the gals on this board. On some of the boards, they argue so much, I can't believe it. :( Glenda I am happy little Gabe's surgery is over and soon he will be all better. Please keep us posted  Trudy GEEZ, maybe your Mom and Aunt will start taking a shuttle bus in the future. Poor "Dollies". :) I received a call from my DIL right at supper time. Grandson informed her he needed a cape or something to attend a "royal ball" at school, and he thought he would like to go as the king or maybe a prince, (if the kingship was already spoken for) hee hee. Of course the ball is tomorrow. Well, this Grandma came through in sewing up a blue cape with a white felt collar (pretend ermine fur) with lots of gold braiding, and gold coin things sewn on (I wonder why I even had them). He looked very regal. I told him to call me and let me know how the ball went. Well good night all. flaggies 05-04-2001, 02:04 AM G'dy all, Peggy I am so pleased for you the root canal treatment is over and went ok. You all say that you are the worse at the dentist but I am sure no-one is worse than me!!! Whilst away I should have gone to the dentist for a check up but I emailed him and told him I will see him when I am home. I will definetly do that as I could not bear to think of going to a strange dentist and having to 'break' him in:D:D Are we all blondes here? I also am a blonde with a little help from a 'friend'. It never ceases to amaze me how similar we are in so many ways. I have never heard a mockingbird sing, it must be nice. I don't like caged birds but I do love them in the garden. Your trip to New Orleans sounds great, yet another place we would love to visit, it has a great music history. Glenda hope all went well with little Gabe, what a cute name, I have not heard that before. Slavika you have just proven my theory that everything comes in handy at some time. Your grandson must have looked great. It is science week in Sydney and last night we went to a science presentation in the town hall. Sounds pretty boring but the two presenters are and were very entertaining. One little piece of practical science I will share with you. They got everyone (2000 in the audience) to stand up and the object of the excercise was that if you tickle yourself you don't laugh and find it all a bit of a bore. On the count of three we had to tickle ourselves (feeling like absolute fools!) to prove the point that the brain knows when you are about to tickle yourself so no reaction. Now the second part of the experiment, on the count of three we were to tickle the person next to us. You should have heard all the giggling and laughing! It was a fun way to prove in a very small way how the brain reacts. I feel really good and was a little worried about buying the mother of the bride outfit as it is VERY snug :(:( However it has certainly given me a new incentive and I am very positive that in time to come I will post my photo wearing this stunning outfit! Trudy It is a little hard to explain what it looks like but it is a very pale apple green, a shell top in crepe material with a matching satin panelled skirt and then an organza jacket with the cuffs and hem of the jacket in the same fabric as the skirt. I couldn't possibly show you in a photo now but will definetly do so when it fits beautifully :):) Have a great day all, by the way my new computer is great, so fast. Cheers Maria Geri 05-04-2001, 09:45 AM Good morning all. Maria leads the most interesting life. Remember Donna----she used to do some interesting things. I think that Maria had surrpassed her though. Even Donna didn't have tickling lessons. (I tried it; she's right. I didn't laugh). Had a rough night. Nobody told me it would hurt afterwards. I wonder why. I can't chew on the affected side and found dinner a chore last night. I had prepared a bar-b-que chicken pizza for the grown-ups and Dino chicken nuggets and fries for the kids and I couldn't eat it. The crust was so crispy (some people might have considered it burned) that you couldn't eat it without completely closing your mouth. I couldn't stand to have the lower tooth touch the root canal tooth. Fortunately I had some leftover pasta primavera (soft) from the other day so I wasn't forced to starve. Fat chance of that happening:) Even the salad was difficult to eat. I guess lunch didn't hurt because the novacaine was still working. Wonder how today will go. Plan on cleaning out the deep freezer today. It is time to defrost. I need to pitch some food too. There is stuff out there (freezer is in the garage) that I brought with me when I moved 3 years ago. Do you think I could safely pitch it? painter5 05-04-2001, 09:48 AM Glenda I hope little Gabe came through his surgery o.k. With all the love and prayers that he is getting I am sure that he will be o.k. Just don't let Trudy anywhere near. God knows what will happen. Geri I am glad to hear that you survived. What a deal on Liz shorts. You might have to steal Maria's name of bargain hunter. And to go get 10's. I don't think I was born a 10. I am glad to hear that "SOMEBODY" lives in other houses besides mine. We used to have "I don't know" when the boys were younger. I remember going on vacation when they were in college and when I came home the corner of my glass dining table was broken. I don't know did it. What a grandma you are Slavika. The cape sounds cute. Goes to show that you should never part with "things". You never know when they will come in handy. Maria your dress sounds very pretty. It will go very nice with "blonde" hair. I use a champagne color. It is amazing how similar we all are. The mockingbird is busy singing. He has added a new sound. It sounds like a cell phone. You can't get away from them. Have a good weekend everyone. Peggy Geri 05-04-2001, 11:45 AM Any report on Gabe yet? I use blonde highlights. Does that count? They used to call it frosting; now they wrap it in foil and charge you by the individual foils. Frosting was cheaper though more painful. Make sure you post a picture, Maria. It won't take much to get into that dress. It sounds lovely. I know how you feel. I bought an absolutey gorgeous light teal silk dress with matching jacket slacks and tank top. I will have to lose at least 10 0or 12# to wear it. The jacket fits now (I won't lose weight in my shoulders), but nothing else does. I refused to spend that kind of money on something for 1 season so now I have to lose weight. I have that dress/suit hanging so it is the first thing I see when I walk in the closet. Wonder how long it will take? I will let you know when I finally get into it. survivor 05-04-2001, 12:09 PM Good grief, Slavika, You just passed the "Grandma" test! I would be so "stopped in my tracks" if I had to come up with a regal cape in one evening! Your munchkins are so lucky to have you because you are an . Geri - You have become so brave! And it will be wonderful having more contact with you! Taking clothes back because you bought them too big is something we all want to experience! I am very proud of you! So is your church group all doing as well as you are? Just got word from my sister. Little Gabe came through his surgery just fine and they do think it was just a fluid-filed cyst but have sent it off for biopsy. The little guy can eat in about 3 hours. He certainly has been a trooper! Trudy - Just to be on the safe side, why don't you take a cab next time you transport some poor unsuspecting victims, uh people? Hope everyone is doing great! Let me ask a question of you all. In your grocery stores do they carry low-fat or reduced-fat graham cracker crusts for pies or do you always have to make your own? Glenda LilyG 05-04-2001, 01:02 PM Slavika: Boy those Somebody's that do things like that. They cost you money to. That somebody needs to be punished. :D Your such a good Grandma to sew that cape at the last minute! Bet he was very regal looking! Maria: That is a good incentive to get in to the dress. It sounds like it is very pretty. Cant wait til you can show us! Geri: I would diffently pitch the food from 3 years ago. Im sure it has frezzer burn and not very good. Hope your teeth are feeling better! Peggy: I dont have blonde hair. Mine is sort of brown/reddish. Dont know want to call it. It does have blonde in it but only in the summer when im outside alot. My hairdresser always tells me not to dye it. But I dont its the sun and she never believes me. ALAS..... Glenda: Thats great news about Gabe! And being able to eat so soon to! He must be doing great! My store carries the reduced fat graham cracker crusts. Im lazy tho and like the easy way out if I can. painter5 05-04-2001, 02:22 PM Glenda I am glad Gabe came thru o.k. He had lots of angels watching over him. How long does he have to stay in the hospital? I will have to check the stores to see if they carry the low fat crusts. They probably do. What are you going to put in the crust? Something yummy? Trudy maybe you should stay in today too. I have to go out and rake up the stringy things that fall off the oak trees. If they were money I'd be rich and would buy us a house in the "Land of Tom". Peggy Lizziepie 05-04-2001, 06:00 PM Boy-stay away for a day and a half and I have so much to caatch up with. So I'm not a blonde. When I was little it was white blond and then as I got older it got darker. Now I do a reverse frost and match the dark in my hair so I don't have so much "grey hair of wisdom" Geri: gald you survived the root canal. I hate that 'dam' they put in your mouth. The last time I had one done, I made them take it out. Felt like I couldn't breathe. Lili: Thanks for the advice, but on webtv I can't use notepad. I just have to use my pencil. Kashi Krispies are made from the puffed Kashi. I posted the recipe on the recipe page you started. Slavika: Before I met my DH he was a sea from 3 to 6 months. That was in what we call our "first life". When I met him, he had come ashore and was piloting. Then he was away mostly just overnight. What a good gram. And a good seamstress to whip something up in such a hurry. Glenda: So glad Gage came thru with flying colors. Prayer works! And yes I can get graham crust reduced fat. My DH is champing at the bit to go to supper. we are going out to a fund raiser for our youth at church. I'll check back later. Ann Trudy 05-04-2001, 11:20 PM Hi gals.. ... I phoned my victims..er ..Mom and Aunt and they survived their ordeals. :o I will consider the advice given re: shuttle bus, cabs, staying home and avoiding babies... I wonder how much time I would have to serve for "abuse of the elderly"? Geri.. Time to chuck the frozen food ~ 3 years is a bit long. Enjoy the new "LIZ" shorts. They are really nice fitting, and take back the others. You will get into the dress soon, sounds like you are inspired. :) Maria The outfit sounds really nice. Post a picture after the wedding, I bet you will look lovely. The "Tickle Test" was hilarious... were you tickling strangers? Lily.. there was a time I dyed my hair auburn... I really liked it, but it faded fast in the sun. I guess your hair is a natural color. My DH was blond when we met, it has darkened to a light brown and he only has a few grey hair. Mind you he doesn't have a heck of a lot of it. ;) My hair is just plain old silver color. Haven't dyed it in 5 years. Glenda that is great news about Gabe. So glad it was a cyst and nothing else. Peggy the birds are slowly returning here. It is really nice to hear all the chirping, the rabbits are brown again, squirrels are everywhere ~ SO GLAD SPRING IS HERE! Ann I am curious :?: - Where is the LAND OF TOM? Slavika.. That SOMEBODY sure causes a lot of havoc at your place. You are always thinking... not surprised you could whip up a royal cape fit for a King or Prince. Good night ladies, see you tomorrow.... slavika 05-04-2001, 11:42 PM  Hi Everybody Trudy is a little claustrophobic, and Peggy said she was a bit, and I am quite claustrophobic. I am always more comfortable if I can sit in an aisle seat, do not like elevators, and it's the main reason I don't like flying. It's not so bad that it has ever stopped me from doing the things I wanted to do, but trust me I do not spend more then one second longer in the plane bathrooms then I have to. LOL :D How about the rest of you gals? I guess you all figured out I was the "somebody" who dropped the pistachio shell in the dishwasher. BROTHER that even make me madder. :) Lily I was happy to see "KYLE", I don't think he is ever going to take his hat off. :D Maria your outfit sounds just lovely. I know by the time the wedding comes you will fit it beautifully and look absolutely lovely in it. By the way, I also tried the "tickle test" on myself....not funny. Glenda I think when we become grandparents we have more time to spend (and usually more money) on our grandchildren then we did on our own children. Nothing makes me feel better then to see their little faces light up with pleasure when I do something for them, or give them some special little treat. I saw the "Princess" at her school today for a couple of minutes and I gave her a small package of fruit snacks, she was so pleased, told her little class mates I was her "Baba" and explained it meant Grandma, and that I "ALWAYS" had little surprises for her. She shared her little snack and that made me feel good too. Ann how was your fund raiser dinner at the church? With all the extra programs the churchs are running these days they need fund raisers. We got a letter this week from our parish and our priest is hoping that each family could contribute 1% of their annual income to the church, never mind the 10% that lots of other churchs are hoping to receive. With the price of natural gas going up so much, and it being so cold here, it really was a rough winter for not just my church, but many church's in our City. Geri Not to worry, you will soon be into that new dress/suit. Trudy hi there, we were posting at the same time...it's just that it takes me sooo long. I have to go see what's on TV, get a snack, drink some water, visit the bathroom, drink more water, visit......well you get the idea. LOL LOL Well I guess I will say good night....I hope you all have a great day tomorrow, "talk" to you then. Lizziepie 05-04-2001, 11:49 PM We had a nice supper and helped some of our kids earn money to go to summer camp. They waiated on us, and entertained us too. Good kids. So often we only read about the onew in trouble. Geri: Chuck it. Once I thawed some stuff I had in my freezer for a long time and it was unreconizeable. Maria: Your new outfit sounds lovely. I've never been brave enough to buy something snug and know I'll get into it. Good for you!:smug: So right about the tickling. That must have been a sight to see. We do the Mongolian barbecue quite often. I really like it a lot and it is a good way to eat lots of veggies and not the deep-fried stuff that is so good. Peggy: We have lots of mocking birds here. I think it is the Florida state bird. Sometimes in the morning when I walk I can whistle and get an answer. We also have a lot of mourning doves. They sound so lonesome. I love spring, and people often say that Fl. doesn't have season changes, but we do, just a bit different. I have to weigh in again because I was over goal last week and I know I'm still over. I'm going to keep going to meetings until I get back to where I am supposed to be. Maybe the having to pay every time will be the added incentive I need.Tomorrow is the day.:spin: Slavika- Our house has a 'Not Me' living in it. Must be related to your Somebody. We both love pistachios so we would have had to take equal blame. In case you might have questions about my 1st life and my 2nd life. All the problems happened in the 1st life, before I met Phil. You know what the song says, Love is Better the Second time around. And we are going into our 26th year. The best part of my 1st life is my two daughters. We also joke about B.A. and B.P Before Ann, Before Phil. Good night all. Have a great weekend. Ann flaggies 05-05-2001, 02:34 AM G'day all This weekend there is a 'mind, spirit and body' festival on just near where I am residing. Of course I HAD to go. DH doesn't like that sort of thing so I went off on my own. There were all the usual 'spirity' things there. I am a bit of a sucker for 'fortune tellers' and there were a number of them. Saw one and amazingly she told me the same things that the last 4 over the past 18 months have said. They all go on about the many changes in my life, that we will be very well off financially (:)) and that the coming years are full of excitement. All of them have asked if I write. I always keep journals and things and have definetly decided to put up a web page. She told me to make sure to go ahead with it. I then also saw an iridologist (spelling?). He told me that he could see I had a weakness in my left lung and/or breast tissue. When I had breast cancer it was my left breast and I did have a lot of radiotherapy and was told that it may effect the lung. I was just amazed, he also said that I had problems with my digestive system (true) and that I did everything at the rate of knots. I asked what I should see as a priority and he said to get my digestive system in good working order and to slow down. He gave me a diet to follow for 5 days to detoxify my system and after that to basically eat very healthily! All the above didn't come as a surprise and just confirmed that I have to make some changes in my diet etc. Geri I think it could be time to pitch stuff after 3 years!!! I was going to empty my freezer before we left home, I gave quite a bit away but there is also still quite a bit there:( Good to hear you also have an outfit waiting for a slender body to fit into:D Who will be first to do it Gerri, you or me??? Glenda pleased to hear Gabe is doing well Ann shame you cannot use notepad, it is the best! I smiled at B.A and B.P, nice to hear you are so happy now. Trudy pleased to hear your passengers are well!! I had dh next to me so I did not tickle a stranger. Slavika I am a bit like you, a little claustrophobic but it has never stopped me doing things. I do remember being in the tallest building in Adelaide and getting in the fastest lift, well it went so fast that it didn't stop at the ground floor but stopped between the groundfloor and the basement. There were 2 other people in the lift who thought it was very funny, I really panicked, I hated the thought I was stuck in this confined area. We all got rescued after about 10 mins. I like sitting on the aisle seat for practical reasons, quick exit to the loo. :D I do waffle on since discovering notepad, you will have to blame Lily Cheers all Maria Lizziepie 05-05-2001, 11:26 AM This wasn't as bad a WI as I thought. I remember what Karen said about the scales. Anyway 1.4 gone. This time I am deterined to get below my goal weight and stay there the best I can .:D Maria: What sort of digestive problems? I was plagued for a long time until I had a test for Hpylori bacterium. Found I was positive, took the treatment, and now I have no more difficulties. I still have to watch some foods because of GERD (gastro-Intestinal- reflux- disease) but as long as I leave the chocolate and pineapple alone- no problems. Maybe you will write a great novel and bring fame and fortune to you and dh.You are certainly having all sorts of adventures you could incorporate into a book. 'See you later' Ann LilyG 05-05-2001, 03:03 PM Trudy: Glad your victims are ok! Im really suprised they are still talking to you tho! I use to dye my hair when I was younger and it was almost blonde. But I gave it up along time ago. Slavika: Im not claustrophobic at all. I do like the aisle seats tho. DH and I fight over them. ALAS he always wins. How rude! Nope Kyle likes his hat. Its part of him. Ann: I didnt know you were on WebTV. I will check out that recipe and try them out! Good for you going to the meeting until its comes off. If you have to pay it will be a good incentive to get it back off. You will soon Im sure! WOW WTG I see 1.4 gone! Good for you! Maria: That festival sounded fun. I like to have my fortune told every now and again. I would have to go by myself also as DH would not want to go at all! What kind of diet is the DR putting you on? When you get that web page going let us know so we can see it! painter5 05-05-2001, 06:51 PM Slavika I love your little bluebirds in your post. They are so cute and cheerful. [b]Maria you really do the most interesting things. So many adventures I can't keep up. Had my palm read once. My hand was shaking so much she I think she had a hard time. She didn't say too much - she gave me weird looks and thought something happened in my teens. I told her it was when I was when I was 9[my mom died]. I didn't want to hear anymore - thought she might tell me some stuff I didn't want to hear. That was the only time I ever did something like that. I am basically a chicken. [b]Ann wtg on the loss. Good for you. Today I was gone all day - came home and discovered the dog got sick on my bed. All the way down to the mattress. So I took everything off and took it down to the washer. Guess what? The washer died - I think it is the transmission. Tomorrow we are going to get a new one. I can't complain because it was at least 12 years old and never had a service call. I figured by the time Ihad it fixed it would be just as practical to go for new. I had to drag the stuff up to the laundromat [ugh] and then bring it home to dry. I hung it outside so it will smell really good. The goofy dog ate the lava rocks from the grill when we were cleaning it. Time to go bring it in. "See" you tomorrow, Peggy p.s. The Land of Tom is Hawaii. Had to rake those stringy things off our roof today slavika 05-05-2001, 09:58 PM  Hi Everybody When DH got home from work yesterday he was not feeling very well and didn't have a great night, so of course neither did it. He has a cold and flu like symptoms, chills, achy feeling. Well when I got up this morning I wasn't feeling so great either and now I feel quite lousy. :( My whole body hurts. I even fell asleep, sitting up in a sofa chair....first time in my life I ever did "DAT". Oh rats ! We are suppose to take our son, dil and grandbabies out to dinner tomorrow night. It's to be a sort of have a happy holiday dinner for my DIL. I can't remember if I told you, she is going to Croatia with her Father on the 9th until May 29th. My Son will be Mr. Mom (at least part of the time) and the other Grandmother and I will of course help out a bit too. :) Even DH will fill in by taking the children to after school activities. I sure hope we are both feeling well enough to go to dinner. Lily Next time you and DH fly you could do what we do, and reserve seats across the aisle from each other instead of side by side. That way of course you both get aisle seats but you can still talk to each other.:) Peggy It is so nice to own a dog but unfortunately sometimes they are a bit of work. That's ok, they sure give us a lot of love  in return. Trudy how was your day? Sure was windy today. I tried sitting out, but that didn't last. Night all. LilyG 05-05-2001, 10:07 PM Slavika: Sorry you are sick. Hope you get better soon! Flu is not fun. But it does sound like you will miss the dinner tomorrow. ALAS. Sometimes we do get seats across from each other. Depends on my mood I guess! Get Better! Peggy: Oh no your washer........ Mine is about that old now to. Qeuss I should be excepting it to go soon. Hate the laundry Mat! Lizziepie 05-05-2001, 10:46 PM Hi again: Oh Peggy, been there done that. Pets are lovely except when there are bad messes to clean up.But they do make up for it with their unconditional love. But insult to injury to have the washing machine die. Do you have a good formula for the damp spot on the mattress? I think the worst experience I ever had with our dog was last summer as we were traveling home. She got sick, don't know why, and before we could pull into a rest area, she was ill in a papertowel, in my hand Poor thing she felt so bad and sad:( I'm so grateful that she is only a ten lb. Cockapoo. Lily: When you make the Kashi Krispies, they can be sticky, so once they are cool and cut into squares, I wrap them in plastic wrap and put them in the freezer. Then eat them cold right out of the freezer. :) Hope you like them! Slavika: So sorry you are ill.Isn't it nice the way our DH's are so generous with their 'bugs'? Get well quickly. Hi everyone, have a happy Sunday.:D Ann painter5 05-06-2001, 11:11 AM Since Slavika doesn't feel well I will do it again.
