I started a new thread. I went back to work today and I'm really tired. Going to lay down. I hope to be back later to post.

Gayle....I said a prayer for Allison, Steve & you! PLEASE let us know ASAP what the test showed. Give her a BIG HUG & KISS from me! Take care Gayle...Love you.

11-01-2004, 10:11 PM
Gayle, I just now got a chance to come to the board and catch up. I'm so sorry Allison is going through all of this. Please let us know as soon as you find something out. Love you!

Sherry, I wish you hadn't had to go back to work. Are you feeling any better at all? How about the men, are they healing?? Sending big hugs your way!

Debbie, I hope James is continuing to improve each day. You are in my thoughts constantly.

I hope all of the other Floozies are doing well and staying OP. I can't say that I have, but for some reason, I'm not stressing over it. Take care everyone. Sending you all my love and good thoughts.

Hi friends! We found out tonight the test was negative for mono. Her white count is 20,000~~~normal for her should be under 10,000!! The doctor placed her on a super strong antibiotic and we are to watch her. I think I'm keeping her home tomorrow, just so she can get some more rest and I can see how she will do with the new meds. He said he can't quite understand what is going on with her and for now we will treat it like a bacterial infection. If she has no problems with the medication, I am to take her back in two weeks so he can check out her lymph nodes again. Thank you all for your prayers and support, I was so shocked today when I thought we were just going for a routine allergy check.

Sherry, please take some time for you and take care of yourself.

Ramona, if it will help, please feel free to join us on the food journal thread. You can even join me (the newbie) on the exercise thread if you want.

11-02-2004, 06:55 AM
Gayle-They have no idea why the white count is so high? I am so happy that the mono test was negative, but do you think that you should get a 2nd opinion? I don't trust drs.

Doni-I am so sorry that your hubby forgot your birthday. I would be crying my eyes out all day!

Carol-Now that you have made a comitment, you are so good at staying with it. Good luck, and we are all here to help you stay OP! Post your food eaten on the food thread. Even if you are embarrased, we won't judge you!

Debbie-I hope James is doing better today.

Sherry-You need to take care of yourself. How are Drew and Wayne doing?

Dee-Thanks for all of your support on the food thread. You are such a motivator!

Jennelle-I miss you! Please come back and say hello to us.

Cheryl-I'm glad that you have decided to join us at the food thread also. Let's all keep each other motivated. Don't forget the exercise thread also!

Ramona-I know that you are so busy. Thank you for keeping in touch with your Floozie friends, though! We all love you. I keep your boys in my prayers everyday.

Vicki-Come out, come out wherever you are! How is the Red Hat woman doing?

11-02-2004, 10:16 AM
Shelley, the doctor said for her count to be that high, it meant she is fighting infection. The strange thing is, he looked in her ears and said one was just light pink, her nose and throat were fine, when he went to check her lymph nodes, he jumped back and said, these things are huge! He ran several things with the blood and for right now, it's pointing towards a bacterial infection. He wants to see her back if there is no change and even when she is through with the meds, so he can check her lymph nodes again. His concern, like mine was the losing of 10% of her body weight, she is not very big anyways and she can't afford to lose too much weight. The stuff he gave her must be very potent, he said we should see a difference within 48 hours, but last night it seemed like she was feeling better and acting more like her old self. I really do trust his opinion, he is a fantastic doctor, in fact I have gave him so many referrals, half of my family see's him. :-) He is the only doctor Allison knows, he delivered her too. Halloween night, she had no interest in the candy, last night she was finally picking through her bucket and eating a few pieces.

Morning girls:wave:

We are out of school today for election day, whatever the reason I'm glad...LOL. James is continuing to get stronger, being at home is really helping him too. There is just no way to rush his recovery...I keep telling him that!!!

Gayle...How scarey with Allison being that sick. Bless her heart!! Hopefully the meds will kick in and she will be well soon. Keep us posted. Hugs!!

Doni..."MEN" They just really don't have a clue want is important sometimes. I usually start reminding James a month in advance of something special coming up...LOL.

Sherry...Hope you are feeling better today. You have really had so much to deal with lately. I will continue to preach to you about taking care of yourself!!

Carol...Good luck on your new commitment!!! I need to make so many changes in my life, kinda don't know which way to start sometimes. Trying not to get depressed this time about it though.

Dee....Sounds like you are doing so much better these days. Are you still on all those meds for pain or is it better?

Ramona....Are the boys going to come home for the holidays this year? Hope they are doing well, they are in my prayers everyday.

Vicki, Jennelle, Cheryl, Shelley and Tina....HUGS!!!

I have been complaining about no time to clean house and here I sit...LOL. Guess I better get busy!!
Love you guys...deb

""Don't forget to VOTE!! today""

11-02-2004, 02:45 PM
Gayle, I'm so glad Allison is feeling better today. Hopefully the meds will do the trick and she will be running and jumping again soon. Give her an extra hug from me!

Debbie, I know you must be so tired. Taking care of loved ones can be very draining. Please take care of yourself so you can help James to heal. No, the boys won't get to come home for any of the holidays.

Sherry, how are things at your hospital....I mean house! lol. I hope your medication is working and you will be much better soon. How are the men???

Shelley, Thanks so much for keeping the boys in your thoughts and prayers. It means more than you will ever know.

I got an email from Dan yesterday. He received three medals for saving the lives of Iraqi soldiers. I am so proud of him.
I don't know if it is the lunar eclipse or the full moon, but I hope things settle down around here soon. In the last 5 days I've worked 2 suicides and an officer involved shooting. The second boy was barely 19. I have his suicide note on my desk and it is so full of pain. I shut my door and cried and cried when I read it. So very sad.

I haven't said anything with everyone having so much illness and injury. I went to the doctor last Thursday because I knew I had a kidney infection (which turned out to be massive!). Since it was time for my yearly exam, he went ahead and got that out of the way. Well, he found some cysts which are probably nothing, but I go to the hospital for a mamogram on the 11th. I'm sure it will turn out fine. Do any of you have trouble with cysts?

By the way, I know it is a little early, but are we going to do the secret santa this year. If we are, I need to budget for it now. If you all are like me, things are a little tight. What do you all think?

11-02-2004, 03:14 PM
Ramona I am glad that you shared with us about your health. You are as important as everyone else. Let us know what the results are. My girlfriend gets cysts often. They do a biopsy on them and they have always been negative. I pray for yours to be the same too. I would love to do the secret santa. I had so much fun trying to guess who had who. And since I was the naughty one last year, it took awhile for me to get mine. I loved picking something out for Sherry and wondering if she would like it.

Debbie I didn't realize that James was already at home. Is he ok on his own when you are at work? How thankful you must be that the scarey part is over. I heard that a lot of people suffer from depression after having a heart attack. Keep an eye on James. Thanks for preaching at Sherry to take it easy. At least I know that maybe you will get to her and she might listen even just a little. I am still on a lot of pain medication. I feel that I might as well exercise because one way or the other I am still in pain. I might as well do what I like. Thanks for asking.

Sherry I hope that you are resting today on your day off( at least I assume you must if Debbie has it off). How are you feeling, any better? Please don't push it when you start feeling a little better.

Gayle who is Allison this afternoon? I hope that all it is, is an infection. How is Mom doing? I recieved my care package for painting sunflowers. I just love it. You really didn't have to send more than the instructions but I am really excited about it. You are so sweet. Not only did I recieve my sunflower package I recieved my angel of hope. You are the most thoughtful person ever. I love angels and that means a lot to me that you did that. I really feel that you care because you went further than just words. You are so special. I have my angel looking down at me from my computer. It will always remind me that I have a special friend looking out for me. I hope that you get blessed in return.

Shelley go girl go. Yes I will try to motivate you and keep you going. You are doing really well as always. I wish we had your warm weather. I am freezing even though the sun is shining. It is only 45 out.

Carol are you motivated today? Keeping track of what you are eatting? How is the pain in your feet? Boy we are a pretty sad bunch.

Cheryl it is nice to see that you are posting on the exercise thread. We will keep you going. You are doing great. Just want to see more posts over there from you.

I hope the rest of you will post soon.

11-02-2004, 03:31 PM
Dee, I so happy the angel arrived! I ordered it for you quite awhile ago, I think right before or after your surgery. The group makes little crocheted angels for anyone in need of an extra hug or thought. Kinda weird both packages arrived the same day, huh? Don't feel obligated to paint the sunflowers if you think you won't like too...I just wanted to send you the stuff, I thought it might help fill some of your spare time in bed while your resting.

Ramona, you silly goose! We would be upset if you didn't share news with us! I heard cysts are very common, so you probably have nothing to worry about. It still is a good idea to get checked out though...we don't want anything happening to you!!!!! I am saying extra prayers for great test results!

Deb, tell James I'm glad he is finally back home! Did they put him on a special diet? I heard something similar to what Dee wrote about depression too.

Allison is feeling better fact a little bit ago she was acting onery (sp?) I asked her to come to me, in my most serious voice, I said, I know your feeling better, so don't push your luck! She started giggling like crazy. I think the goofy Allison is starting to pop back out.

I still would like to do a small gift exchange if everyone can afford it. I am like Ramona, I would like to plan now so I can budget it in. Someone suggested about an ornament or a small sun catcher for those that don't put up a Christmas tree or decorate for Christmas? Thoughts????

11-02-2004, 04:03 PM
I'm all in for secret Santa this year!

I really feel for all of y'all that are going through tough times right now. I know I don't pop in very often but I do stay on top of things.

My thoughts are going out to Allison, James, Dan, Wayne, Ben and all the rest of your loved ones that are having problems.

Ramona, try not to worry too much about your cysts, I believe they are a fairly common problem--sometimes can be caused by consuming too much caffeine. I hate it that you're facing such a tough time at work, I feel for you.

Dee, you really do sound so much better!!! Now that Dez seems to be settling in at school, that'll be another load off your mind.

Gayle, your Halloween supper sounded great! I hope Allison recovers from her ailement soon.

Debbie, glad James is home and recovering. Take care of him--but don't forget about you.

Same to you, Sherry, I know it's tough with two guys depending on you, but don't neglect yourself! That's an order!

Hey, Shelley! Still running? I'm working out (walking & excersizing), but I don't really have a clear goal right now in terms of miles or whatever. I'm just working with my trainer and doing what he tells me. Taking it slow at first and concentrating on my eating habits. I'll get back to the board eventually!

Hey to Vickster, Tina, Jennelle, Carol and Doni!!

11-02-2004, 07:17 PM
Gayle I just wanted to share with you my excitement. I practiced painting on the sheet you gave me with water. I had so much fun. I have used mostly water paints. I am going to check and see what paints I have so I can get practicing. My mind is whirling what can I paint this on after a few practices. Dez's walls would be great but that is a long time off because Larry has to drywall it and he hasn't quite finished up with our room yet. I don't think that he will want to start something right away again. He is working hard for money at for free for me. I will have to buy some trinket boxes or something and give them away as gifts. Thanks for inspiring me again. I am having fun.

11-02-2004, 09:03 PM
Howdy

I'm feeling much better now but not completely well yet. I'm still taking Prednisone & eating, eating & eating! :( I DID have to work today. The kids were out and Debbie was off because she works in food service.

For all that's asked: Wayne is doing a lot better and seems to be getting around better. He went to the Dr. yesterday (his 1 week check-up) and got his stitches out. The Dr. said that he maybe go back to work in 6 weeks. His workman comp only pays 66% of his salary. I'm not sure yet how we'll make it but somehow, someway we will. Thanks for the prayers.

Gayle....I'm sooooo glad Allison is getting better and she doesn't have mono! If she wants all that candy...let her! Tell her that "Aunt Sherry" said she could!!! LOL!! Give her a hug and I hope she gets stronger everyday!!

Doni......I'm so sorry your hubby forgot your bday! I wonder if he is related to my husband?! Did he make it up to you??

Dee....You are sounding more like yourself everyday!!! :) Have fun painting!!!!

Ramona.....Oh please always come here and talk about anything! I feel so bad for hogging up the space about Wayne, Drew & me!!! I'll say a prayer for you that it's nothing more then caffeine like Cheryl said. Try not to worry yourself sick...please! BTW:I know you're so proud of Dan!! ;)

Hello to everyone else....I've got to lay down now. I'm so tired.

BTW: Whatever everyone wants to do is fine with me about Christmas. Who votes for ornaments and who wants to pick a gift out? How much money do you want to limit it? Who doesn't want to do it? FEEDBACK PLEASE!! :D

11-03-2004, 06:39 AM
Ramona-Keep us posted! I am praying that everything will turn out fine for you.

Gayle-Tell Allison to eat some candy corn for me!

Cheryl-Yes, I am still running. I am up to 17 miles so far this week. I try to do at the very least 25 miles per week. With my 10 miler on Saturday, I'll have at least 27 this week and that is if I don't run anymore until then. My feet are bothering me though.
Keep up the good work with your trainer. Maybe you can give us some tips!

Debbie-I can't believe they let you out for election day. That's awesome! Of course right now they won't let us out for anything since we had so many hurricane days.

11-03-2004, 01:00 PM
Sherry, don't worry about any weight gain with the predisone, most of it is usually water weight. I'm glad to hear Wayne is is Drew doing??

Cheryl, I like your new mini goal ticker! Thanks for getting all of us strted "ticking" these pounds away!

Dee, enjoy the stuff! It can become will be painting sunflowers everywhere! Better tell Larry not to sit still for too long! If you decide to do something non-porous like ceramic or porcelain trinket boxes, Plaid makes an enamel paint for glass etc. with water cleanup! It can cure out for 21 days or you can even bake it in your oven. Right before craft shows, my oven gets used more for a kiln then any baking!!

Ramona, great news about Dan, I KNOW you are so proud of him! He has went from a troubled young boy to a grown up man that is a hero.

Shelley, I've said it before and I will say it again, you amaze me! I can't hardly get a few miles in a week and your zipping around averaging 20-25 miles per week!

11-04-2004, 08:04 AM
Good Morning All.

Sounds like everyone is on the mend. Its about time. We have had so many tragedies and illness on this thread lately. It is about time to turn it all around.

So far so good on staying OP. One day at a time. I can do this, I will do this. Good job to all of you who are doing the same.

Sherry: That predisone is a necessary evil when you are that ill. The time you spend eating now, will come right back off when you are restored to health and motivated again. Just get well now!!

Debbie: I pray for James' speedy recovery daily. Remember to take care of you too.

Gayle: You are spreading your artistic talent around. It is great to have someone like you to help us out when we need some inspiration. Thanks for being you.

Shelley: Run, run, run. I envy you since I have this arthritis I can't run and can barely walk these days. Run for me too!!

Doni: Well.... did hubby make it up to you for missing your birthday!!

No time to post to everyone, but I am thinking of all my floozie friends.

Love you all.............Have a wonderful day!!

11-04-2004, 08:14 AM
BTW: I love your new pic Shelley!!!

11-04-2004, 08:52 AM
Good Mornin'

I'm feeling much better this morning but still not completely well.I ususally go to bed around 11:00pm but EVERY night this week I have gone to bed between 7:30-8:00!!!! And slept all night!!

Carol.....Have you ever gone to the Mini-Nights (sp?) for arthritis medication? I know it helps my Dad.I'll try to find out from him what kind it is.

Gayle....How is Allison?

Shelley....I LOVE your new picture!!! I need a new one!

Ramona....When will you find out something on the test?

Debbie....How's James this morning. My prayers are always with ya'll.

Dee....How are you? Are you sleeping better? Is the hurting going away?

Cheryl....What plan are you following? I meant to ask the other day and forgot.

Doni.....Did hubby make it up to you????

Tina.....Vicki... Where are you?????!!!!!!!

Today is the last day on my meds. Come Monday, I will be back OP!!! I've got to lose some weight!!! My pants are so tight I look so forward to coming home and taking them off just to get some "comfy" clothes on!

Have a great day!!!!! :D

11-04-2004, 10:21 AM
Nice to hear from everyone!

Shelley~ I LOVE the new pic, I really liked the old one too except I can see you better in this one.

Sher, I'm interested in the med information you mentioned to Carol also. My mother has suffered for years and can find no relief.

11-04-2004, 02:46 PM
Sherry I am glad that you are starting to feel better. It is nice to see that you are getting to bed early so that you can rest up and heal.

Today was the big day. I went back to the surgeons. I am not sure what I wanted to hear, I just wanted him to swish his wand over me and make me better. Well I guess he will be doing that but it means that I am being swished with his knife. I will be having surgery on Dec 6. He will take out the disk. Apparently there will be a longer recover time and more pain because I have not healed up from the last surgery. Last time was bad, I am not looking forward to the surgery but looking forward to feeling good again. I love Christmas and I am not sure if I will be able to bake or decorate etc... unless I do it now. That isn't great either but I would like to make Christmas magical once again. If I didn't I would be disappointed and so would the kids.

Off to get my flu shot and then to the dentist. I can't remeber if I told you all that last week when I chipped my tooth I decided to wait because I am having my teeth whittened first. I pick up the molds today and will start whittening tonight. It is suppose to take 7-10 days. After that I will get the chip fixed.

Please keep praying for me.

11-05-2004, 12:49 AM
Dee, so sorry the news wasn't good with the surgeon. He probably should of removed the disk in the first place, probably would of saved you alot of pain and sleepless nights. I vote for decorating your house now! There is no way your going to feel like decorating after the 6th. Maybe Dez could even come home over a weekend and help you?? Try to relax this Christmas and let others do something for long as you have all of your family safe and everyone is free of illness, then it will still be a magical holiday.

The hunger monster has a hold on me and is pulling me towards the halloween candy!!!!! AAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! SAVE ME!!!!!!!!!!!! Run, while you still can, I will try to fend him off the best I can!!!!

5 minutes later.... it's safe now girls, I took care of the hunger monster, you will all be safe for the night. I will sneak off to my bed now to sleep off this sugar induced haze from the Halloween candy... it was a dirty job, but someone had to eat some sugar to ward off the monster. :-( I'll do better tomorrow!!!

11-05-2004, 07:35 AM
Hi all-I'm taking the day off today--problems at home, which I can't say over the Internet. Anyway, I feel so guilty because the office is going to go nuts today, since I am not there. It seems that I have been doing everything there. This will give them a taste of what I do.

11-05-2004, 10:31 AM

You'll just have a desk full of crap when you get back. Na, maybe they'll do it.

Hope you get the problems at home worked out.

Gayle--last night must have just been a "monster" night. I had to fight the candy cravings, too. I gave in, but not like I COULD'VE.

11-05-2004, 10:32 AM
Shelley, don't even worry at all about the people at work. Take care of yourself and your family first, that is what is important. If you need anyone to talk too, know I am here. LOVE YOU!!!!!

11-05-2004, 12:01 PM
Sherry (and anyone else :) )

I am on what is called the Apex program. I "purchased" it through my gym. There are 5 components to the program, which are:

Food intake
cardiorespiratory training
vitamins and supplements
resistance training
personal assistance

When I signed up, I got a fitness guide, which is really pretty neat. There's a section for tracking my food intake and work-outs which I absolutely love. The best part of the program, for me, though, is my personal trainer, Steve. He's great to work with and it's nice to have someone to be accountable to. During my first session we just took my measurements and weighed in (ugh). The second session we worked out with the weights and on the ball (I did my cardio before-hand so I'd have more time to devote to that with him). Then he gave me my menues--which I'm trying to stick to. He got me to write down my favorite foods and he incorperated them into the menues, so they're really not too hard to stick to (he even gave me Cokes).

I get 10 sessions with him, they're supposed to be an hour long, but sometimes they run over (I'm not complaining!). I haven't really gotten into the supplements yet. I do take a vitamin daily. I like the Apex products (which are probably just like any other "diet" bars/cookies on the market, except they TASTE GOOD and when I buy them Steve gets a commission--I like him, so I don't mind "donating" around 20 extra cents/bar :) )

This week I've gotten up at 5:00 on Wednesday, Thursday and today to go to the early exercise class that the gym has recently begun to offer. Tuesday is a step class (the instructor had a special class this Thursday to teach the basic steps), Wednesday and Friday are the BodyPump classes (weight training). Love 'em, love 'em, love 'em!!!

Someday I'll get around to posting on the exercise board!

Thanks for being interested enough in my journey (long tho' it has been and will be :) ).

11-05-2004, 02:23 PM
Cheryl, I am so happy for you!!!!!! Is Steve cute? Single???? Just wondering!!!!
I guess we could start calling your personal trainer "Stevie stud boy" LOL!!
Did it bother you to have a male instead of a female doing the weighing and measuring? I'm not sure which would bother me more.
Can the Apex stuff be purchased at a health food store? I may want to check into a few bars to use as snacks or a meal on the go. May I ask what you had to pay for your gym membership w/ personal trainer???

11-05-2004, 03:28 PM
Shelley my prayers are with you. I hope that you can work everything out. You know that I am here for you. Don't worry about work, your family is priority!

Gayle how is Allison? Last night Larry worked late so I decided to practice painting the sunflower painting. I practised the leaves and then just did a rough picture on paper. I did the whole thing. I learnt a few things that I will change next time. It doesn't look like the picture but on it's own it looks ok. I remebered why the sunflower seemed easier than I expected. I did a water color with sunflowers that turned out really good. I sat far too long doing it but it was worth the pain. Thank you for giving me something positive to think about. About that sugar monster, I shot him last night so he won't be visiting you again. lol

Sherry how are you? Is Drew and hubby(I am drawing a blank right now and it isn't on this page) off of crutches? How are they managing with pain?

Debbie how is James doing? Does he smoke? Will his diet have to change? Take care of that man of yours but remember if you get sick you won't be able to. So take care of yourself.

Cheryl what a good program you have. It is a life style change. I think that is the way to go. Keep up the good work. I look forward to you posting on the exercise thread. Even if you don't I know that you are working out.

Ramona how are you doing? Do you have anything intersting planned for the weekend? Have you heard from the boys in the last few days?

Carol are you on program? I am doing it with you. Keep working on it.

Today I was hit with all the emotions of having to go through surgery again. When my girlfriends came over for coffee and asked me how it went I just couldn't hold it together any more. I cried uncontrolably. The pain is so fresh in my mind. This is really rough, it is hard on me. I don't want to go through this again. I only hope that it works this time. When Larry came home at lunch I told him what happenned. He asked if I was crying tears of joy and relief.....duh yeah right. He has no clue. The nurse said yesterday to him he better go out and get me some flowers or better yet jewelery.....she knew. I am so disappointed about Christmas too. I feel sorry for my family and me too.

On a happier note it is Larry and my 24th anniversary on monday. We are going to celebrate it sunday. I drug myself up and go out for dinner with my hubby because he wants to take me out. I am concerned about the chairs. I hope that it will be somewhat comfortable and enjoyable.

Well my sitting time is up.......I hope that you all have a super weekend. Less than 2 months left til christmas.

11-05-2004, 03:37 PM
I am down 10 pounds since Memorial challenge.

11-05-2004, 04:26 PM
YEA, DEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that I've got THAT written (took me forever to figure out the color/size thing!!)--I'm so sorry to hear that you have to go thru all that rough stuff again. I so feel for you. I wish there was something I could do to help make it better. I'll be sending positive vibes your way, you can bet on that!

11-05-2004, 05:08 PM
Gayle, Steve is neither "cute" (by society's standards) nor single. He is, however, an absolute doll. I don't feel uncomfortable at all with him taking my measurements and weighing me. He's just all-around great! As far as price goes, I think, based on some of the threads I've read around here, that it's not bad. Not cheap, but affordable at this time in my life. It's separate from my gym membership fees, which are $45/month. For 10 sessions it's $350, so $35/hour-long workout and menu-planning. If I do my cardio warm-up (about 15-20 minutes) before my appointment, that gives me the whole 30-45 minutes of our work-out to devote to resistance work. I'm hoping I'll build more lean muscle in addition to losing some of this jiggly fat.

Anyway, that's the run-down. It's a great program. As far as the cookies and bars, I don't know where all they're sold. If you ever do get a chance to try them, ask me for my recommendations!! If you (or any of you) want to go on-line and check this stuff out it's at My gym's web-site is

If you go to my gym's site, be sure to check out the picture of the other apex trainer, Cody. I think he's part of the reason a lot of the girls join the gym. He's pretty :) Not my type, tho.

11-05-2004, 06:29 PM
Congratulations Dee on the awesome weight loss!

Cheryl, you are doing great also!!

I'm so proud of both of you!!

11-06-2004, 12:37 AM
Cheryl, thanks for the info, going to go check out both of the sites here in a bit.

Now, for my stern but loving lecture...
it is very understandable too be upset with the thought of facing another surgery, but you need to take care of you. Do what Larry and the doctor wants you to do and hopefully one of these days you can run circles around the two of them. Maybe you should have a talk with Larry and tell him how depressed and sad you are and how your feeling facing another are right, Larry has no clue...maybe he will understand better if you talk to him. I think I know the type of man Larry is by what you share here and I know he will do everything in his power to make you feel more at ease about the surgery and to help in any way he can to prepare for Christmas.

I was recruited at 7:45 AM this morning to be a room mother for a party at 2:00 PM this afternoon! I had a feeling I would be getting a call, but it never came, this morning I ran ino one of the mom's and she hit me up. I'm glad I thought ahead, so I had some idea on what to take. The party was a success, of course it doesn't take much to entertain kindergarten students! I wasn't asked if I could help with the Christmas party...I was just told what we could do for it....the joys of a room mother!

I hope all of you are having a great weekend!!!! I'm staying OP today...the Halloween candy monster must of gave up and went elsewhere.

Cheryl, thanks for the info, I visited your gym site, it seems really nice! I agree with you, I would prefer an older, together trainer then a "pretty boy", I'm sure he knows his stuff, but I want all of the attention during the session, not the 10 or so girls gawking at him. LOL!

Ramona, are you ok? I can't shake a feeling I've had the past few days. You keep coming into my thoughts...I do know you have a few more days yet before your test, know I love you and I'm hoping and praying for the best.

Gayle it has been pretty quiet around here. Your right Larry is a good man and he really doesn't know how I feel. How would he it is my feelings. Men tend not to be as perceptive as women. I could feel someone elses feelings. I will talk to him. I told him in passing tonight that I am terrified to have another surgery and that I am so scared of the pain now that I know what it will feel like. He seemed a bit surprised when I said that. We will sit down and have a talk soon. Thanks Gayle.

I hope all of you are doing well. Gayle I am glad that the sugar monster didn't get to you. That is one of the reasons I never liked Halloween. I had no control with eatting my kids candy.
Ramona please check in, Gayle has me concerned now too.
Sherry how are things in your household?
Debbie is Sherry visiting you and James tonight? I hope that James is doing fine.
Shelley have you worked out everything?
So where are the rest of you? Exercising???? Or maybe drinking your water? Or maybe running to the bathroom because of all the water you have been drinking?

Gayle and Dee, I'm fine. I just had an incredibly busy week at work; two suicides, an officer-involved shooting and the rape of a 16 year old whose family I know. My brain has just been on overload and I've hibernated all weekend. My tests are on Thursday and I'm sure everything will be fine. Thank you both for caring about me!

I send my love to all my Floozie friends. I'll catch up in a couple of days with everyone. Hope the rest of your weekend is wonderful!

Need advice from all of you. I was just asked to help throw a wedding shower for a friend (teacher) from school. She is 40, 2nd marriage (her first husband died 14 years ago.) She is very down to earth--doesn't do lingerie, or fancy makeup or anything like that. Doesn't color her hair, goes camping, the whole "earthy type person." She's the science teacher at school. Any advice on what type of shower? They both have houses. Her daughter is a friend of Patty's, so we are closer than just acquaintences. We are shooting for a Dec. 11 shower at the other person's house. We will probably be inviting all the teachers at school, plus some of Pam's personal friends. Any ideas? I would love to go to Geanne (my friend that I am helping) with some clever ideas.

How fun shelley! I love planning parties!!!!!!

Since she is into the outdoor about a gardening/camping theme? Each guest would bring a gift the couple could use gardening or camping. The party favors could be small packages of seeds personalized with the couples info.

Around the house theme: Assign each guest with a room of the house, let them know colors and decor for that room. The guest would then bring a gift specifically for that room.

Around the clock theme: Same idea as above, except assign each guest with a time: Breakfast time, bath time, bedtime, each guest would bring a gift for that time period.

Stock the pantry party: Each guest would write their favorite recipe on a recipe card then bring all non-parishable food items for the recipe to the party. This could be fixed up in a cute basket or container, she could use later for storage. The hostess' could gift her with a recipe card file and a recipe book holder.

A cute party favor is: Purchase the 10 pack of kit kat snack bars ($1.00) I use kit kat because you end up with a larger/flatter surface for your design. Use a program such as Printmaster to measure out and personalize a label, this can include names/dates/graphics. Remove the real label (the bar will still be covered in foil) and use a glue stick to attach the new label. I made tons of these for advertising and liz's graduation! You will get all kinds of great comments!

HAVE FUN!!!!!!

Hello

I hope everyone has had a great weekend. :D Yesterday I layed around a lot and rested. Also did all my laundry. Today we went to church. Yep, you heard me right! We haven't been in soooooo long! Wayne told me the other night that he felt like we should start going again. So after church, I made a pot of homemade vegetable soup then MOWED THE WHOLE YARD!!! I can't believe that I was mowing in shorts in Nov.!!!!!! :hot:

Your ideas for Shelley's shower are awesome!!!! You are the most creative person I know!!!! When I get ready to do Mom & Dad's 50th Anniversary party next month, I'm calling you!!! Is Allison completely well now?

All the suggestions Gayle gave you are wonderful!!! I bet it's going to be fun planning this! I hope whatever was wrong at home has worked out.Remember we are ALWAYS here for you! BIG HUGS!!! Did I tell you how much I love your new photo?

I will be saying a prayer for you on Thursday. Try not to worry. It will make you sick.I just know everything will come out great! :) How's the boys? Also, How is your Dad? I think of him often.

I'm so sorry that you're going to have to go through another surgery. Did you have your talk with Larry yet? He seems like such a great husband and he probably didn't even realize how you feel. PLEASE go ahead and decorate the house. Just go at a slow pace until it's done. You are like me, We love Christmas and the decorations and you won't be happy unless it's all up and done. It's ok if it's done early. Look at it this way...You'll just be able to enjoy it more! ;) Love you!

Stop lurking and post more often!!! I love reading your posts and miss you when you're gone!

I hope James continues to get better everyday. He'll be his ole self again in no time! Please try to get some rest yourself and don't try to be super woman and do too much & wear yourself down. I love & miss you!

I'm so jealous!! I LOVE your gym and all the info you gave!! I wish I could afford to do something like that! Continue to work out. I promise you'll see results in no time! You may not lose that much but the inches will melt away! I need to start going back to the "Y". I'm paying for it each month and never go! I need a big push!!

Tina, Doni & Carol....Are you ok? I hope you're staying OP. I really need a big butt kick! I need some motivation BIG TIME!

I hope I didn't leave anyone out.

Hugs to all.....
