Hi All! I started a new thread because I always end up on the 2nd page and the little thingy on the right is so tiny. Like my technological vocabulary?
Patti,
We will stick with you no matter what plan you are on. I did the CA diet for 3 weeks. It is a good booster but very hard to stick with. I often said "If I see another cow I will Throw Up." Sorry guys. Hey maybe I prevented someone from eating something they didn't want.
Congrats on the 7 lbs. though and now you will continue on with WW. You are doing well.
I love my torches. We have a hot tub on the patio and I pretend I am on an island somewhere when I am in there and the torches are on. Then the kids come out begging to get in and the moment is lost. So, I go out around 10:00 at night and escape. They really work too. The mosquitoes don't come around. Good luck!
We have a Lowes and Home Depot next to each other and My husband is in his Glory.

Joyce,
Thanks so much! I hope I can do it. Last August when my parents and sister and BIL came down we went out twice a day to a restaurant and I only gained 1.5 pounds. I remember being so happy. I could normally gain 5 or more in those circumstances. I will be fine. I will remember to journal. Thanks for the vote of confidence.
I love fish but I am always scared to go in and find one dead. I get so attached. They don't relieve my stress level like they are supposed to :( . I could sit and watch them for hours. I'll bet the ones you are find are beautiful. How fast do they reproduce? I think it is fascinating. Good luck!

Essie,
Congrats on staying op. You can do this. I am so proud of you.
Myra is very busy at work for the next couple of weeks. She said she will be back. Hi Myra!

Hi everyone!

Hi girls!

It's so good to hear the positive thoughts here.

Patti, you're going to succeed, remember that! I've got to agree with you, WW is the only plan I will use. I know many people swear by other plans, but to me they don't encompass real life. Let's face it, we all have birthdays, holidays and vacations to enjoy. We can still lead "normal" lives and stay OP. I am so glad you've stayed with this group. Have a very Happy Anniversary.......enjoy Cinco de Mayo! :)

Joyce, you're doing good! :) I have to remind myself that I didn't gain all this weight overnight, nor will I take it off overnight. Steady and sure wins the race, right? Keep up the good work, your doc will be happy also!

Terri, thanks for keeping us up to date w/Myra. I miss her posts. I'll bet you're looking forward to this weekend and your family's visit and the First Communion. Gee, it seems like so long ago that Joey made his.....they grow up toooo fast. Remember that Brittany is in my prayers, she'll be fine in no time.

I've resumed journalling again, don't even know why I let it stop. Essie, you are so right, girl! I know how successful I am in losing when I write down everything. It's a good habit that we've got to stick with.

We're having Cinco de Mayo this Saturday, with my niece and her "tribe" coming (she's got 4 daughters), along w/my daughter and her family. As usual, lots of kids running around! A very good friend of mine is Mexican, she taught me how to make killer enchiladas a few years ago. We're having those on Sat., along w/chicken fajitas on the grill, and queso fundido for an appetizer. Oh, and margaritas  It is definitely not a low points dinner, but I plan on having only a few points for breakfast and lunch that day.

have a good day.....

Jen, you are sooo funny! Your niece & her tribe. Sounds like alot of fun. You're going to have a great time.

Terri, I just realized there are posts on 52 I didn't read but I don't want to go back. I still don't see the little thingy:rolleyes: Am I slow or what!!

Zoe, I forgot to wish you a Happy Anniversary. I got to go back & read what you wrote. Sorry:( I'm so out of it today:?:

Going to go watch my soaps.

Have a nice evening:wave:

 hi, my buddies:

Congrats to all you losers -- you guys are really doing great!! I went back to ww this past Sunday (my third time going back) and faced the music. I knew I had gained, but didn't know how much. When I got home I cried, had a little pity party and said ok, now its time to do something about it. Can't do anything about the past, just the present. So, I began journaling (which I hate) and so far this week I've been on program and have banked 8 pts., believe it or not.

Today at work we had service awards and I was one of the honorees - for 15 years of service to the university. Amazing, how time flies. When I joined the university, Justin was in kindergarten and Alana was 3 years old, now Justin is a sophomore in College and Alana is going to college in September, YIKES!! Anyway, there was a reception with food and cake, etc. and I all I had were some grapes and a chicken cabob (2 small chunks of chicken and red and green peppers) so, I felt good about staying on program and not running for that cake.

Like I said I can't do anything about yesterday, but today and tomorrow, I can try my best. Hopefully, I'll have a loss this week for the first time in a long time. If not, that's okay, it will show up next week or the next, I'm not going to worry.

Well, sorry for such a long post - I haven't talked to you all in a few days. I'm happy for all of you with your losses and good luck terri with your party this weekend, I'm sure you'll be fine.

Hi to everyone and have a great Thursday!

Happy Thursday:)

Weekend is almost here. My niece turns 7 next week & my SIL is celebrating her birthday this Saturday. No big deal when it comes to the cake. I feel so good about losing this week that I know I won't be tempted.

Dianne, it's great hearing from you. We all slip. The important thing is to get right back up. Look at me! I was just about to give up when I said to my self "If I give up it means I'm quitting" & I am not a quitter. I stuck to it & lost almost 5 lbs. I feel even lighter today:D Keep up with your journal & your water & you'll see how good you'll feel. Way to go with your choices at the reception. Hang tough ;)

Have a great day everybody

Dianne,
Congratulations on your anniversary at work. And good job on the wise choices at the reception! Don't worry about how many times you've joined WW (I've already lost count of how many I've done). Good luck! :)

Essie,
Have fun at the birthday....funny how cake used to seem so important and good, doesn't it? Now I'm trying to focus on people and events rather than the food that comes with them. (Except for my previous post where I actually listed the menu for Cinco de Mayo......duhhh!). Anyhoo, we'll get through all this and come out happier and thinner!

Terri, Joyce, Myra, Anita. hope you're enjoying this beautiful day!

Hi Y'all

Just wanted to say hi and that I'll be gone tomorrow through late Sunday afternoon. This is our anniversary weekend away.......I am not going to think about diet the entire weekend. And you know, when I don't think about it, I seem to do better....weird. Anyway, I will be thinking of you all and hope you all stay on your eating plans.

Talk to you all when I get back.

Love,

Hey Zoe/Patti -- Happy Anniversary - hope you and your hubby have a great time!

Thanks Jen & Essie for your words of encouragement, they mean a lot to me. I know what I have to do, I just have to do it. So far, so good. You know you always get motivated when you start over, the trick is to stay that way.

 Hi Terri, Anita, Joyce, Myra -- (hope I'm not missing anyone). Have a great Friday -- I'm taking the day off tomorrow - I call it my mental health day, lol. A day just for me - I'll probably go to the park and walk by the water and then read a book. I just feel the need to do "nothing for nobody but me" tomorrow. Ever have one of those days?

Hope to talk to you all soon.

Hello Ladies :)

How is everyone doing this weekend? Zoe must be having a good time. Way to go Zoe;)

Dianne, we all need a mental health day every now & then. Enjoy the R & R!

Jen, Happy Cinco de Mayo!!! We're having a parade here today. It's very cloudy. I hope it doesn't rain. I can't go I have too much to do. Manicure, food shopping then to Toys R Us for my niece's birthday tomorrow. I gotta tell you, I haven't exercised all week & I feel it

Have a great weekend Terri, Joyce & the rest of the crew:wave:

Hi guys

I thought I posted this, but it didn't come out (or else it will come out twice later! LOL).

Anyway, my (step) daughter's due date is today and she called this morning to tell us there's been a "bloody show", so it looks like our new granddaughter may enter our world this very day!

We're sticking close to home, waiting for a call and also, in case she needs us to help with the other 3 kids at home. I will let you know when the new papoose arrives! Say a quick prayer for a quick and healthy delivery, please. Thanks,

Dianne

Hi everyone. Thought I'd pop in and say hello. Hope everyone is having a good weekend. We had our trip to Austin Wedensday to look at the fish. Then we went out to eat for our anniversary a day early. 15 years May 3rd. I actually chose food within my points range. Yea!

Diane - Hope everything goes well with the baby. I'll be thinking of you. Let us know as soon as possible how everyone is doing.

Zoe - Happy anniversary and have fun at Cinco de Mayo.

Have a great weekend everyone

He is ok. just sore. he fell last yr. and bruised his hip. It makes me nervous. I feel so bad for him. He is so frail. I'll catch up later.
Have a great Sunday!

Hi everyone :)

Joyce, Happy Anniversary! It's good to hear you ate out and stayed within your points. That can be difficult to do.

Terri, how's your Dad? I'm sorry to hear about his fall, hope he's ok. Try not to worry too much, enjoy your family's visit.

Dianne, any baby news yet? Hope all is well.

Essie, how was the birthday? Our 5 de Mayo was great; everyone spent the night ...no drinking and driving here!

Anita, hope your anniversary weekend was fun.

I've got my final exam today, yikes! I'll be glad when that's out of the way!

Have a great Monday! :)

 Good morning guys:

I have some good news and some bad news:

Bad news: No baby yet - looks like false alarm. So, now daughter is 2 days late and a baby short, lol. I will let you know as soon as "miss lizzie tish" decides to make her grand entrance.

Good news: (really good news, LOL): My first weigh in since I came back to ww last week produced a loss of 3.6 lbs.!! I'm really happy with that. Of course, its only the first week and usually you do really well, but I'm confident that it was a really good jumpstart for me. I'm walking, drinking my water and I was able to bank a few points as well, so hopefully I'll continue with those tools. I'm just taking one day at a time.

Jen - Good luck with your exam -- I'm sure you'll be fine. Its hard to believe you've already completed a semester. Wow - congrats!

Terri - sorry to hear about your dad -- hope he recovers really quickly.

Joyce - Happy Anniversary, hope it was good. Same to you Zoe/Patti

Essie - Glad to hear you enjoyed your cinco de mayo.

Everyone else -- have a great day!

Hello my Buds

Dianne, I thought for sure "miss lizzie tish" was here! Oh well, we'll be waiting patiently with you. Great loss girlfriend. 3.6 ALRIGHT! (high five) I'm doing the one day at a time also. I have to because if not I start feeling overwhelmed right away.

Jen, my niece's birthday went well. I saw my sister-in-law's SIL, her brother's wife, for some reason this sounds complicated:rolleyes:anyway, she lost 62 lbs with WW. She still has quite a bit to lose but she looks great! She's always been a pretty girl but very overweight. Talk about motivation!!! I took one look at her & didn't want to eat! This really works!!!

If we all lived close to eachother we would be walking everyday! Right Girls? You're probably thinking "I am so glad she doesn't live close by" Kidding.

Terri, hope Dad is feeling okay.

Joyce & Zoe, hope all is well.

Have a goodnight.

Yeah Dianne! That is a great loss. CONGRATS!!!!
Can't wait til the baby gets here. :D
Keep us posted.

Thanks all about my dad. he is pretty bruised up but ok. My son's first communion was beautiful. Britt's birthday was fun.

Now her surgery is Thursday. There is a possibility that they might have to taker her left ovary. I hope not.
:( UGH!!!! I'll keep you posted.

HI EVERYBODY!!!!! I'll just be popping in once in awhile.

Good morning everyone!

Dianne, whooeee! 3.6 is a great loss! :D Good job. We'll be anxiously awaiting the baby news; I must be missing something....."miss lizzie tish" ?

Essie, I only wish we could walk together! Somehow I get the feeling we'd never shut up ;)....but think of all the walking we'd get in! It only takes a good example to make us want to buckle down and stay on program, doesn't it? I mean about the woman who lost 62 lbs. How great she must feel!

Terri, glad the festivities were fun. Also glad your Dad will be okay. I lost my Mom when I was only 28, and my Dad when I was 33, and still miss having them in our lives. Brittany will come through all of this okay; please keep only positive thoughts in your mind and in your heart. Lots of prayers coming her way!

It is so gorgeous outside this morning. I already walked today, and was just loving seeing the sunshine, the flowers blooming everywhere. This is such a great time of year here, before it gets too hot in the summer.

Hope everyone is great.....Joyce, Anita, Myra. Thinking of all of you.

Hi guys:

Baby girl just arrived -- second hand info so all I know is 8lbs, something... name will be either Jessica Lynn or Jenna Lynn -- or maybe once they look at her, they'll come up with an entirely new name, LOL. Mom is doing well, but exhausted, she's kind of been in labor for the last 3 days, so I can imagine.

Jen - "Miss Lizzy Tish" is a saying my nana had, which referred to a kind of prima dona, lol. So since this little girl was taking her sweet time coming into the world, I call her Miss Lizzie Tish. LOL.

Well, gotta run, going to hospital. I will be back with more info tonight or tomorrow morning. Have a great day everyone!

Dianne, congratulations Grandma!!! 8 lbs!! Wow! I'm sure she's cute.

Jen, we would get along. Yeah, I could see us talking alot:lol: It would be fun. I lost both my parents too & my oldest brother. Very sad. I try & think of the good times we had together. Today was such a beautiful day. Even though I was at work but driving in & driving home was so beautiful. I thought of walking outside but I decided to do Taebo instead. Love those tapes!

Terri, your lttle girl will be alright. Stay positive. Prayers, prayers prayers! I saw a bumper sticker that stayed in my mind. It said "Let Go, Let God". I do it all the time My Friend. ;)

Hi everybody  I'm back from my weekend in San Antonio and have 2 days under my belt back at work. I have to say that I stayed 100% on my eating plan while I was gone and, after 5 weeks (3 days shy of) of staying OP ~ Atkin's for 2 weeks and then the Carbo Addict's Diet for almost 3 weeks. I was so disgusted today when I got on the scale and gained wieght. So today I messed up BIG TIME.....I mean it, big, big time!!! So I've eaten just about all day today and I'm ready for my points system again. I think WW w/low carbs will be good....not NO carbs, just LOW. <sigh> The summer is upon us and I'm still the same. Boo Hoo......

Anyway, Hi to Y'all and I'm sorry I haven't addressed each of you. I am going to go and read the posts now. Have a great Tuesday night and a blessed Wednesday.

Jenny523
05-08-2001, 09:54 PM
Dianne.....congratulations on your new  granddaughter  !!! What an exciting time for the family. A baby brings such joy, and hope. I'm sure you're in love with her already. :) Thanks for the "heads up" on lizzie tish....

Essie.....my older brother also, in 1994. Life brings many changes, doesn't it? I've been blessed with a large family, 6 of us; Joe is from a family of 9.
When you add in the spouses and children, we've always got something going on. :) Nothing is better than a large family!

Zoe....it's behind you already! There, doesn't that feel better? We can't let "real life" get us down. You will do better in the weeks to come. Hang in there! By the way, how was San Antonio?

Joe had his stress echo test today...all went well, of course. I've got to stop worrying, I know! His cardiologist says he's under no restrictions, and is doing great. Life is good.

Hi Terri, Anita, Myra!

Hello friends.

Just checking in. Had my WW meeting tonight. I lost 1.4 pounds. Got my first bookmark. Yea! :) 5.8 #'s gone forever.

We've had some really bad storms lately. San Antonio got up to 4" hail the other night. Fortunately we only got rain at my house. I could not imagine being on the road and having baseball size hail break the windows etc.

Diane - Hello Grandma...congradulations. Is this the first grand-baby? I only have one daughter and she is adamant right now about not having kids. Hope she changes her mind in the future. I figure if the right guy comes along she'll give in. She is so good with kids too. But I don't want to rush her / she is only 20. I can just imagine the feeling you would get having a grandchild.

Jen - It is really good to hear that Joe is doing good. So when is the vacation?? :D

Zoe - Glad you had a good time in SA. You did great staying OP. I love Mexican food. If I had to have a last meal it would be TexMex. In fact when I was pregnant that is what I craved the most. Only thing :?: the craving never went away

Hope everyone has a great week. Kristen (my daughter) is coming over tomorrow again to use the computer so I probably will not post much.

Hello to all

Terri - good luck to Brittany tomorrow - she's in my thoughts and prayers.

Essie - I'd love to join you and Jen's walking group! LOL, it would be a blast.

Jen - glad to hear about how well Joe is doing. That's great news and a big relief for both of you, I'm sure.

I too, lost a brother, a younger one, only 20 years old.
You never forget them, but like you and Essie say, you try to think of the good times.

Zoe/Patti - Shake off that gain and forget it. You've lost before so you know this works. Just get back on track and start a new day. You'll be fine.

No, Joyce - LOL, this is not my 1st grandchild, its our 13th!

Baby (Lizzie Tish) still doesn't have a name -- Mommy wants Jessica Lynn and Daddy wants Jenna Lynn. Hopefully, they'll come to an agreement before the baby leaves the hospital, LOL. Oh and I found out she was
8 lbs and 13 oz. - big girl, gotta put her on ww, LOL. and she was 20 1/2 inches long. Thanks everyone for your good wishes.

Well, its 3:44 a.m. here and I can't sleep, don''t know why. So I'll talk to you all later and have a great day.

Dianne, I'm sure the baby is beautiful. My daughter was 8 lb. 11 oz, we named her Jessica. I'm partial to both names, actually, as Jenna is so close to my name, Jennifer! At any rate, my best wishes to the new Mom and Dad.

Joyce, congrats on the loss! I love Mexican food also. Hope those storms stay away from you, that would be scary.

Terri, Brittany is in my prayers.

Hope all is well with everyone.

Have a great day!

Hi Buddies:)

Joyce, good goin with 5.8!!! Gone!!! I hope to get my bookmark soon. I'll celebrate but not with food. The last 2 days I was hungry at night but I survived.

Terri, been thinking about you & Brittany. Hang in there Kiddo. She's going to be okay.

Zoe, welcome back. So you slipped alittle. We all do. Hey, this is going to be a way of life. We can't always be perfect but we won't give up either. If you're not too busy try & do some heavy duty cardio & drink lots of water.

Jen, so happy to hear Joe is doing great!! Way to go Joe:D You have a huge family!! I can imagine when you all get together. Lots of fun.

Dianne, I think you've had too much excitement & that's why you were up at 3:44 am. That's the time I get up Mon. thru Thursday. I know, I know, everyone thinks I'm nuts but I've been doing it for so long I'm use to it. So how's Jessica/Jenna? She'll be like Zoe/Patti
I'm teasing you Zoe!!;)

Joyce, it's getting bad here in NY. We haven't had any rain for quite a while. I hope we get some soon.

Okay my friends, have a goodnight

Hi ladies

Ok, so I was OP for almost 5 weeks and then, for 2 days, out of control!!!! But I think I'm gonna be okay now. Thank you all for your words of encouragement. I really love and appreciate you all.

San Antonio was great ~ the Cinco de Mayo celebration down there was awesome.

Dianne ~ Congrats on your new grand daughter! I can't see me as a granny yet......too many of my friends my age are HAVING babies or have very little ones so I just can't see it.....don't get me wrong, I'm surely old enough, my kids are 21 and almost 26 so it's not impossible. I just told them "not yet".
Oh, and WTG on losing 3.6!!!! Yeah!!

Terri ~ Brittany is in my prayers. I'm sure all will be fine.....relax momma, she has so many prayers coming her way.

Jen ~ Glad to hear that Joe's stress test was okay. We always worry anyway but glad to hear it was good.

Joyce ~ good job on losing another 1.4 and now, getting a bookmark. It feels good, doesn't it?? :) Hey, we passed by the Seguin signs on the way to SA....boy, you live WAAAAAYYYYY down there, huh?? :D

Essie ~ any rain up there yet? We had a real dry spell here last year that was quite frightening. I hope you get some rain soon.

Well, time to relax. Have a great evening ladies....talk to you's tomorrow.

Patti <><
