Wow, can't believe I beat you guys to the computer this morning!

It's an early day for me because my dd, who has gorgeous curls, wanted me to straighten her hair before school. Everybody wants to look like Avril Lavigne lol!

I made a pact with a friend yesterday. We've both been on SB since June and are doing pretty well despite the inevitable plateaus. We decided to (a) help eachother meet goal and (b) face eachother with any unpleasant truths should either of us start to regain. Makes me feel like goal is more accessible and like the dreaded regain could actually be averted this time!

I'll check back in later.

Have great on plan days everybody!

Well I am sure that Mamacita is starting a thread as well but just in case. We have done that several times but sweet Ruth always blends them for us if we do. (Thanks Ruth) Nothing big on the agenda today same ol same ol! I think I may go out and rake some leaves today. You cannot even see the stone walkways through the backyard. We are almost knee beep in leaves. DH just raked them over the weekend! Everytime the wind blows it rains leaves! Well I'm off to get the kids off! Have a good day all and i'll peck back in later.

Good morning, Chicks~~ :coffee:

DH was here later than usual this morning, so I didn't get the 'puter at my usual time.

Nothing new here. I'm just plotting and conniving, trying to figure out a way to get this yummy electric spinner I've been drooling over since last Saturday. Darn thing is hideously expensive. The technology is so very simple but costs more than a lot of desktop computers.

Made fajitas with the leftover London broil last night.

Ruth the puppies are just too cute. How's Miss Lucy doing back at home?

Bamie, IKWYM about the leaves. My dh is convinced the trees conspire against him every year. He blows and rakes and they wait just til he's finished closing the last bag, then WHOOSH! Another load falls!

Well, time to get moving. Hope everyone has a great day on the Beach!

Morning lovely ladies :coffee:

It has been a while since I have posted on here, but I have been reading the threads. I have fallen off the wagon and also ran over by it!!! But I am proud to say I started phase 1 again on Tuesday and have been op since. The truth will be in the 2 week weigh in hopefully the scale will be down and not up or stuck :o Work has been crazy lately with 50 kids and only 3 to look after them things get a little on the wild side. Im going to start going back to the Y and working out so that will help kickstart the weight loss again!

Bamie I hear you on the raining leaves our house is surrounded by trees and no matter how much we rake and blow them they just keep coming down!

To all the ladies that are yet to wake their sleepy heads up have a great op day!

Good Morning Ladies!
Hope you don't mind me joining your little chat group. I am just in from a 12 hr night shift. I am a critical care RN. Was a tempting night as we had 3 cakes, a dozen cupcakes and toll house cookies staring at me ALL night long. But I hung in there and avoided even one bite. There are so many people on this forum who have lost so much weight on SB I am hoping to keep up my motivation. I love all the recipes that are posted and can't wait to try some new stuff. Going to try a s/f low fat pumpkin cheesecake this weekend for an early Thanksgiving celebration w/ the in laws. Sure no one will even try but me and my fellow southbeacher sister in law but will be nice to have a legal dessert to eat.
I hope you all have a great day. Keep up all your good work. Others, like me, look to you for inspiration.

Morning chickies

I decided to come to work early today because I have been soooo busy lately. I've been creeping back into the not enough veggies and too much dairy. So today I've commited to making it a heavy veggie day!

Bami - Leaves, leaves everywhere! The only good thing about raking them is that it is good for the obliques (sp?). Luckily DS has been on the job lately.

Mama - Price hunt! I wanted a recumbent bike that was very expensive. I went to most of the stores around Costco, Walmart etc and ended up getting one at Walmart for 89.00! It had everything the other one had. Also we have "used sporting goods/fitness stores" here and they have great deals from people who used it once and never again.

Airmans Angel - At least you can recognize when the wagon is running you over! Good job getting back on track.

SBJane - we love having new people join us. Nurses really get overloaded with goodies don't they! Maybe keep some aluminum foil around and ask that the goodies be covered (you know infection control  ) to keep everyones germs out. That way you don't have to look at them everytime you walk through. Out of sight out of mind. I would love it if you would post the SF/LF pumpkin cheesecake. Sounds yummy!

Has anyone heard of a Japanese noodle Shitakai (sp?) that is 97% water and 3% fiber? It has the same consistancy as tofu and absorbs the flavor of the meal you are cooking it with? It probably tastes like poo but hey I'll try anything once! I called my local asian store (that was quite a conversation) I speak no asian and he struggled with english so trying to explain what I was looking for was hilarious. If anyone has tried this please let me know. Otherwise I'll keep everyone posted!

I posted this on tuesday evening and it was late so I was wondering if anyone saw it? I'm going to try these as soon as I can find them. Has anyone tried them?

Good morning! Welcome back, Airman's Angel, and welcome to the group, SBJane.

Lucy is home and life seems back to semi-normal, She is just delighted to be home and did not wake me up early this morning! We sat on the back deck together and watched the eclipse which was very nicely scheduled for her homecoming.

I'm outta here at 11 to go to Brockville to pick up paint and borders and make a final decision on my LR "window treatment"! Just call me Martha, I'm a bit stiff this morning from all the daffodil planting yesterday but a hot bath will fix that up. I hope to work in a nice long walk with Lucy before I take off for town so had better hustle.

Happy Thursday!

Hi everyone,

I know aobut leaves. I have one tree in the back yard and it takes two bags to get all the leaves. It always seems to rain the day before I plan to rake the leaves.

Window treatment. I try to ignore my windows! otherwise that I have to wash them.

I am doing well today. I finally got on the scale after going from 208 to 214. I am back down to 210. Eating more seems really to have helped. Hope everyone takes a walk today and enjoys the beautiful fall day.

Hi everyone, I'm sorry I've been MIA. The broncitis really got to me. I finally went to the Dr. Monday. I'm on another antibotic and starting to feel a little better. I feel off the beach so to speak once again in the middle of Phase 1. I was doing so well too. I'm not giving up but I'm really concerned about my will. I know I can do this, I know I want this, I just can't figure out what's holding me back...I have to get to a point where, illness, life issues, etc. don't get in my way. I'm hesitent to redo Phase I without knowing for sure that I'm not going to screw it up. I'm thinking though that time is wasting and I need to do this now. I'm going to CA to visit my brother 11/11 so it will be my last day if I restart tomorrow. Any advice anyone???

DH has a job! He starts Monday. It's a promotion, more $, less travel time and get this, we can car pool.

I'm sorry this is so short. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Hello everyone, hope you are all having a nice day and not encountering any unexplained "crazy" happenings due to the full moon!

Airmans Angel - glad you're still with us!!
SB Jane - welcome to the beach

Anchor Weight - I've not heard of Shitake noodles, only Shitake mushrooms. There are lots of Japanese noodles (all good IMO), such as

Soba (buckwheat) - readily absorbs the flavour of broths and sauces

Udon (whole wheat flour) - full whole wheat flavour

Ramen (made from various different ingredients) - a quick-cooking noodle

Here is a link with more info and recipes: http://www.clearspring.co.uk/pages/site/products/noodles/info1.htm#HEADING
I hope this helps. BTW - your new avatar photo is adorable!

Palm Tree - congrats on DHs new job. WTG

Hello to the rest and those yet to post.

What a busy day! I finally have a break to say HI. The leaves haven't even started to fall here and it's still in the mid 80's. We're having a new fence put up today so I better go run and transfer money to checking. I'll be back in a bit.

Hi, everyone! Glad to see new chickies and recently returned chickies in here! :D

We had a graduate school fair this morning, so I didn't get into the office until late. Not only do I have my regular work, but I realized that I need to stop shopping around and actually purchase a digital camera and suitcase if I want them to get here before we leave for Europe! :yikes: Gotta get on that today!

Made the White Chicken Chili last night...delish! :T Silly DH used the mexican cheese I bought for the top of the Taco Bake, along with the cheddar I bought for that. Twice the cheese! :faint: Anyways, I ended up using the extra half of the Velveeta I bought for the Broc. Cheese soup in the chili. Really did work out well!

No workout on Thursdays...I'm a bit more tired because of it. Yesterday night's pilates class was tough! But it was so much fun! :D

Ordered four more charms which came yesterday. Got a guardian angel watching over a kiddo (not sure if she's me or my kiddo), a seashell (because I love the beach!), a pacifier (more on that baby theme) and a pair of baby mary janes with polka dots and little bows on the back (can you tell that I'm hoping for lots of girls?). I'm going to go get them put on tomorrow, I think. I actually am going to ask them to take off two of the three links I had put on to extend the bracelet when I got it. My wrist is smaller! :D

I hope everyone who is sick feels better, all of us have a great OP day, and a fun night! :D

Hi all!

Welcome to the new people - You will really like it here.

A Broad Abroad - Thanks for the info on the noodles. SHIRATAKI - these are located at: http://www.house-foods.com/our_products/other_products.html. It is about 4 rows down. I read about them in a low carb magazine and I'm obviously attracted to them because of their nutritional content. I'm going to buy some and test them out. Isn't that puppy just adorable. I found him on an avatar website but it took me 4 days to reduce him down so he could be uploaded.

beach gal - White chicken chili sounds wonderful!

Hope everyone had an OP day!

Evening!

I just received an email from the noodle company and they are going to send some to the asian store by my house so I can purchase some without having to buy the whole case. Wouldn't be wonderful to have a noodle that tastes good and is SBD friendly? Friendlier than WW or BW? Like I said it probably tastes like poo but I'm willing to try it. No carbs? Sounds too good to be true. I've been tricked before with word play so I'll wait to see what happens.

Good Afternoon,
Please forgive me if I dont respond to everyone - I went walking with my travelpack (10kgs) last night and I have a terrible headache, I think its from the shoulder strap being too tight. But walking with the pack is a huge effort - funnily enough, it is about what I have lost so far this year and I am just amazed at how hard it was to lug the extra kilos around - no wonder i am always tired :o For every extra kilo i lose I should put it in the pack and walk with it as a reminder of not wanting to be that size again!

Today we are just having a day at home - trying to sort a few things out before I leave and have a great play with my daughter. I will miss her and her daddy terribly.

Hopefully I have a friend that will join the forum soon as well. She has been reading the book and is starting next weekend and is now preparing her house so she starts well... It will be great to have the extra support. I am so enthusiastic about the benefits of the SBD, that I am really glad that she is starting as well.

I have to be honest an say that i feel really wonderful, my mood swings have vanished, the foggy brain is gone, I feel motivated, my skin had cleared up - the weight loss is an added bonus and I would be doing it without it at this point. But happy to keep losing
:D

Have a great day everyone!
