Gayle I meant to tell you that I love your book worm. Is that your holloweeen costume? How is Allison today? Don't you hate that when you lose the post? I have lost my post a number of times but I have lost mine once when Sherry closed the thread. I guess that reminds me that I need to copy it incase I lose it.

Doni I don't like catfish. We don't eat them here. Only the natives do. I love fish though. How are you feeling?

Vicki I am going to slow down some. This is just to painful.

Sherry thanks for the new thread. I know that you are busy but please post and let us know how you are feeling.

Shelley I am glad that you ram and journaled your food. When I exercise I feel that I am in control more too.

I had a horrible night last night. Sometimes you think that you had a bad night but you don't realize that it could be worse. Well I thought that the night before was bad because of the pain. I know that last night was bad but for some people they had a way worse night than I. I am thankful that it wasn't worse. Dez phoned home, crying at 1:30am. I could hardly hear what she was saying through her tears. She said to me the police were coming and that she had been punched in the head. In mid concersation before I heard the whole story the police officers showed up so she had to go. She was at a country bar last night when a chick she didn't know started giving her a hard time. Dez is a very friendly person is not confrontational except with me. Anyways this chick punched her in the face. She reported it to the door man and he said that her couldn't do anything about it because it happenned on the dance floor. She wouldn't accept that so he called the manager. Dez went back to her frinds and this girl kept coming up to her and swearing. Dez said that she doesn't have a problem with her and she couldn't see what the problem was. Just back off and leave me alone. Desiree decided to leave before things got worse. She went outside and this chick followed her out. They ended up in a heated verble fight with everyone surrounding them. The bouncers pulled Dez away and didn't even both with the other girl. I guess then Dez called the police to report the assult. That is about the time she called me. Well she left with them but I didn't hear back from her all night. You know what it is like not knowing if she is being arrested or in the hospital? I called her this morning and she didn't answer her phone. She usually does. I was still worried about her not knowing what happenned. I finally got a hold of her at noon. She was sleeping and didn't even think to call me when the officer broght her home. The office took notes but can not take a statement from someone that has been drinking. It would get thrown out of court. Dez will probably go back tonight when this officer is working and charge this girl with assult. She is hoping that the bouncer got her name. She said that she is a very discriptive person because of her piercings and hair. Hopefully they will find out who she is and that Dez won't have any more trouble with her. She said I don't know how I can have anybody that doesn't like me here because I am just starting to have friends. I haven't rippled any waters.
Well that was my night. Always be thankful that things aren't worse than they are.

Hello

I have been cleaning today like you wouldn't believe! I'm so tired already and have lots left to do.I'm trying to get everything done so tomorrow I can spend all my time taking care of Wayne when we get home. His surgery is out-patient. We have to be there at 6:00am and surgery is at 7:30.I'll let ya'll know when we get home.

Dee,
I'm so sorry that you're still having lots of pain my dear friend. But like everyone says....SLOW DOWN! That's an order!!! I will.... if you do! LOL!! Honestly, I think that you've been trying to do things too soon. It takes time for your back to heal. You may be doing more damage and not realizing it.Follow those Dr.'s orders!!! Ok?? Sorry also about Dez. Hopefully she can get this girls name and make a report. Tell Dez I said to stay out of bars! Take care sweetie...I love you!

Gayle,
I'm so sorry that Allison is sick. Bless her heart!!! I can't stand to see little ones sick. That was so sweet for those people from school to bring her a gift basket. See, that proves that there are still lots of good people out there. Give her an extra hug from me. Hope she gets well soon! I've been meaning to tell you....I love your idea of putting everyone's treats in a separate container. Great idea!!! I'm sorry you lost your post because I was starting a new one. I hope it wasn't too long. Forgive me? :D

Shelley,
Are you in better spirits? I'm so sorry that you have been feeling down.I get like this often and it's ususally due to bills, money or my weight. I hope you are much better. Can you post a picture of your hair? I would love to see it. I need some ideas on mine.

Ramona,
How are you sweetie? How's your Dad? Chris was over here the other night and was talking about Jan. 19th (the day he leaves) and I started crying again.I've got to be strong and accept this but it's so hard. This Christmas will be very special because I won't know when he'll be home for the next one.I know this was hard for you so I need ideas on how to make holidays happy for everyone else when I'll be feeling down. How's work? I know the work and hours are making you tired. Are you still OP?

Doni,
I love catfish! But only if it's filet! It's one of Wayne's favorites! He loves to fish! I could take it or leave it though. I make him crazy when I go with him!! I want to talk, talk & talk and he wants me quite! I forgot to tell you...Your Daughter is so cute! Tell your hubby to take your pic and post it.

Vicki,
Stop lurking and post more often! It's been hard for me to post as I used to because of working my job, ballgames and taking Wayne to the Dr. with only having one car. And on top of that, my car broke down yesterday. After 200.00 later (which wasn't bad) it's fixed! I always love to see a post from you g/f!! ;)

Debbie ....Cheryl.......Carol........& Tina....Where are you??????? Come out wherever you are!!!! Post soon!!!!! Miss ya!!

If I left anyone out...sorry. Gotta get back to cleaning.

BIG HUGS TO ALL!!!!

Sherry, I forgive you!!!! LOL! Just one of those things! Take care of Wayne and let us know how the surgery went as soon as you can. How many days/weeks will he laid up? I will be thinking of you... it seems like most men can't handle the pain and discomfort as much as women can. Allison is better today, she has had a rough three weekends either with her foot/allergies or flu. Hopefully she is over ALL of it!
Thank you about liking the individual container idea. It really helps me...out of sight, out of mind.

Dee, what is the legal drinking age in Canada? I can't remember. Tell Dez to take care, hopefully she won't ever see this girl again. I haven't decided what I will dress up like for Halloween, I'm thinking along the line of a gypsie...if it's cold, I am dressing up in my mittens, cap and winter coat! LOL!

Sherry I will be praying for Wayne tomorrow morning. I know that it is stressful for him and that he probably just wants to get it over with. Did you notice that I haven't had an mileage this weekend? I will slow down but you need to, too. I will hold you to it....lo Yeah we are both too much alike.

Gayle drinking age in canada varies from age 18-20. In manitoba it is 18. Yeah Dez is leagal. We just found out the girl was the manager of the bars daughter. That is why the bouncers were concentrating on her and not the other girl. I just talked to Dez and she said that she would call the police station tonight. We will see if she really does it.

Well can't sit, GTG.

Have a good nite!

Sherry-I'll be praying for Wayne today!

Dee-I am so sorry about what you are going through. I know you have had so many sleepless nights in the past, and you don't need this at all when you are trying to recover. Please take care! I took your advice and bought a couple of frozen meals. I haven't tried them yet, though. I had to go grocery shopping with the girls yesterday because Mike was working. It has been 7 days a week, from 7AM until about 9PM. At least he is making big bucks, because we need it! I know he hurts though. He has to work through the pain and take his pills to keep him going.

Gayle-I hope Allison is better today and can go to school. How do you like the seasoning? I am so proud of the way that you are so in control of your eating these days. Send some of your control my way!

gdeann
10-25-2004, 10:39 AM
Sher, saying prayers for Wayne this morning!!!!! I hope he makes it through the surgery with flying colors!

Shelley, I really like the seasoning, I'm trying to figure out exactly what spices are in it, it's different then most of the season salts I get around here. You are correct, a little goes a long way! How long will Mikes job continue? I bet he is exhausted at night when he finally makes it home. Seven days a week going at that pace is way too much, he really should try to take at least one day off to rest. I sent Allison off to school today, she is over the bug, but still has her allergies to contend with. Hopefully it will freeze here soon, that seems to help her with the outdoor stuff.

Dee, how is Dez today? How are you today?

Girls, have you ever checked out The skinny daily post here on the site? If you decide to, click on "what is the skinny post" and you can read all about it.
The woman who writes the articles lost 100 pounds in 2001 and continues to maintain her weight. She is my new hero! Please visit her site and look at her before and after pic... AMAZING! She is gorgeous! On her site, there are several archives of articles and also reference material and links. She writes her struggles and weight issues out with common sense and humor, several times I related to her writings, as if she was writing it just for me.

I am fight the urge to binge big time! I keep getting on the scale and it is not budging! Now, as heavy as I am, there should be SOME movement! I am starting to tell a little bit of difference in my clothing, but never the less, it is discouraging to see the same number pop up all the time!

Sherry I lit a holy candle for Wayne. Prayers are being said for both of you, because it is often more stressful on the love one that isn't having surgery. Let us know how things went.

Gayle I will check the skinny posts out later today. Maybe one of the reasons the scale hasn't budged is because of the muscle you are building from walking. It builds fast and weighs alot. Try measurements instead of the scale. The scale doesn't always tell the whole truth. I am glad that Allison is back at school. At that age they thrive on school. I haven't heard from Dez today. She did phone last night at 10:00 and say that she was still waiting on the police to phone her back so she could fill out a report. I am glad that she is going to do that because it might protect her from future problems.

Shelley it was Gayle that told you about the frozen dinners but I think it is a great idea when your cook is gone and you are eatting alone. I am really happy that Mike is making money. I am sure that it lifts some spirts in your home. It is hard to work seven days a week with a sore back but I think that he wants to give it all he can while he can make the money. Give him some extra TLC. Maybe a back massage will help a little.

I am going to try walking again today. The sun is finally shinning after 9 days of cloud and rain. We are actually called sunny manitoba because we get the most sun. I was beginning to doubt that. It is going to rain again tomorrow night. Geez! Well got to run, no actually got to walk.....lol

Hello

We're home! I felt like I was dragging a drunk into the house! Wayne is so doped up on the medication and saying weird things! He's so funny!

His surgery went well. But instead of 30 min. like the Dr. thought, it was 1 hour and 10 min.!!! The torn Meniscus was bigger then he thought. Can you believe he starts physical therapy tomorrow!!!!!!! Wow! I was surprised considering he can barely move off the couch from the pain. Nowdays they get you up,moving & outta there! LOL! The Dr. did say he would be out of work 3-6 weeks. Workmans comp only pays 66% of his pay so now it will be really tight around here on us. Bless his heart.

Got to go....Need to pump more ice water in his pack and give him his meds. Wanted to thank everyone for prayers and thinking of him. Gayle...Thanks for the sweet card to Wayne. And Dee..thanks for burning the candle.

Love to all...

Sherry, I'm so glad things went well for Wayne. I know he will be in a lot of pain for a while. I sure feel sorry for him starting physical therapy tomorrow. My brother is a physical therapist and I swear they have a masochistic streak in them!!
I'm sorry you got upset listening to Chris talk. I never cried about Ben leaving until the day he actually went. He left on December 7 and it was the hardest thing I ever went through, up to that point. But, I did get through it and you will too. When I found out I wouldn't have either boys for Christmas this year, I decided I would just sleep through it and pretend it didn't exist. However, after some long talks with my minister and some deep soul searching, I've decided the best thing I can do is honor my sons and my mother and embrace the memories instead of running from them. So, I'm putting up three trees this year. My patriotic tree for my precious boys, our regular family tree, and a special tree just for my mom. I'm actually looking forward to decorating my house now and knowing that my mom is grinning from ear to ear as she looks at the festive decorations. This Christmas is the time for you to create some very special memories for your family. That Christmas, when Ben left, my sister-in-law had an ornament made for me that read "Ben's first Air Force Christmas". Each year I add an ornament for each of the boys and someday, they will hang them on their trees. Love ya!

Dee, I'm sorry sorry for what Dez went through. Thank goodness she wasn't hurt any worse. It doesn't seem very fair though for them to single her out. I hope it all works out.

Gayle, how is little Allison? I hope the flu doesn't knock her out for very long.

I've got to get off of here for a while. I've got company coming in a few minutes.
Love to all my Floozies and wishing you a peacful night.

Ramona! So nice to hear from you! the christmas trees sound like a wonderful idea!!!!! How are you planning to decorate your mothers tree? As I was reading your note I had a vision in my mind of a vintage like tree decorated with heirloom jewelry.

Sher, once Wayne "sobers" up, tell him we are all thinking of him! Boy, they do rush stuff! Will you need to take him in for his therapy or will a therapist come to the house?

Deelite
10-25-2004, 11:27 PM
Ramona that is a wonderful idea to have three trees. Christmas is so much more than being with family, it is also about the birth of Christ. You have the right spirit. I know that it is easy to say why me but you are embrassing the right idea so that you can enjoy your christmas. How did you make out saturday on your mom's birthday? Your Minister sounds like he cares and is very compasionate. It is good to hear from you. I wish that I was the company that you had coming over!

Gayle I signed up for the news letter. Amazing women to lose the weight and keep it off.

Nurse Sherry remember to take some time to rest. Wayne is going to need you so you have to be feeling well.

Shelley how is your depression. Are you doing something to deal with it? I am going to check on the food thread to see if you are posting your menu. I know that you are out there running but I will check that too.

Have a good night.

Just a thought, since it is almost Halloween and there will be lots of treats that could tempt us why don't you wait til the weekend to buy? Buy only what you don't like that way you won't eat it. I have a decadent treat. I make carmel chocolate apples. One for each of us. They are so decandent that I slice my apple and maybe it a quarter of it at a time. I dip the apples in carmel, let cool, then dip half to three quarters of the apple in dark chocolate and drizzle with white chocolate. While the chocolate is still soft I place the apple on a bed of coconut or score pieces or crushed nuts. Only the bottom of the apple gets these toppings. After they harden just slice off a bit. I rub a little lemon juice on the apple that is expose that I don't eat and then wrap it up. With this treat I find I eat a lot less calories in the end. The family looks forward to this (ME TOO) :)

Dee, thank you for the Halloween treat suggestion. Your apple sounds heavenly and sinful at the same time! I'm not buying treats this year, we live far enough out of town we don't have anyone stop by anymore, plus we will be gone in town with Allison.
I am trying to come up with a Halloween dinner menu for the family. So far I have DRACULA ON A STICK (chicken & beef kabobs) with BLOOD SAUCE (steak sauce) * MUMMY FINGERS (french fries) * I'm trying to come up with a dessert and some type of salad. I'm thinking a pudding like dessert in individual dishes with a plastic eyeball staring up at the person! If you have any suggestions or can help me out with menu names, just holler!

Dee-We don't get trick or treaters either, so I don't have to worry about the candy, just about me buying candy corn in the store for myself!!

Sherry-I am so glad that Wayne went through the surgery with flying colors. I am also surprised that they would start PT so soon.

Gayle-You are doing so well with posting your menus. I tend to post, then don't go back to add a couple of other things that I have eaten. I am eating way too much frozen yogurt--2 bowls full. As soon as I run out, I won't buy anymore.

Ramona-Your Christmas tree idea sounds nice. Since I don't celebrate Christmas, I really don't understand all about the significance of the tree, but it sounds like just what would be good for you and your family.

Shelley, I like novelty ice cream (individual pieces), that way I have portion control! If it was up to me to measure out that little 1/2 cup portion it would be 3 cups by the time I was finished!!! Thank you for the kind comment of posting my menu's...I made a goal of continuing to post them, no matter how bad!

Dee, thanks for the link! Super ideas! I made the witches fingers last year, they turned out cute! If you roll the dough kind of bumpy, it looks like a creepy witches finger. The nails are made by taking almond slices, painting with red food coloring and attaching to the dough.

Shelley, to me the significance of the tree is really just the beauty if provides. Most of the ornaments have special meaning or hold special memories. I love to turn off the lights in the room and just have the trees lit. There is just something about it that makes me feel at peace.

Gayle, what you said about the tree for my mom is right on. I will use Victorian ornaments and strings of faux pearls. She would have loved it!

Sherry, how is Wayne today? I hope his PT session goes well. Rick is going to have a total knee replacement after the first of the year. It will take about 4 months for him to be back on his feet.

Dee, how is Dez today? Did she call the police??

Gotta get busy processing Orders Of Protection. I'll "talk" to you all later.....

Yipee todays in a row the sun is shinning. Boy do I miss the sun when it isn't here. My nights are getting better. I am sleeping through most of the night. With increasing the oxycontin at night, I am painless til almost morning. I still may increase the day dose because I am taking the fast acting one to tie me over but I will wait and see. I notice a big difference with the one extra pill. My spelling is poor and I have a hard time with remembering some words. Oh to be free of pain the sacrafices I do. Not that bad yet because I can still focus long enough to post. Now for a biggie.......I have debated about for many years. I guess this is the place to talk about it too. I didn't know if I wanted to share this but I need your imput. Since the birth of Dez my lower stomach muscle seperated. I look like I have another bum :( No matter how many situps I do it does not change the look.My skin is lose and flabby. It would look fine if I wore underware but I hate that stuff. I would rather where dresses or change my pants everyday. You probably figured where this is going.....I am considering a tummy tuck, I figured that I have made scarifices for the kids for years, now we can afford it (I think...don't know the price yet) I want it done. I am very conscious of it. I just hate the way it looks. I guess for the price of a tummy tuck I would buy a lot of control top underware....lol I feel that it would be my reward for going through so much pain resently. I know that this too would jurt but only for a little while. What do you girls think? What have you heard about them? Larry understands how I feel and said if I want it done go for it. It took me the longest time to even tell him how much it bothers me. I thought that if I never said anything that it might go away. Opinnions anyone? I know that Gayle will have one....lol

Ramona I would love to see a picture of your trees when they are up. I love the romantic ambience when the lights are turned down and tree is twinkling. Last year we decorated our tree in gold ribbons, gold ornaments and clear lights. It was one of my favorites. Dez has been waiting for the police to get back to her. I guess they have been busy but they will get a report from her eventually.

Gayle your welcome to the link I sent you. They have a lot of good recipes. I recieve a news letter weekly from them. I have made the withches finger cookies before with the daycare. The kids just loved them. I am looking forward to getting mail from you. Not here yet but the antisipation is good.

Shelley I think that it is a good idea to replace some of the frozen yogut with fruit. Maybe put fruit in a bowl and top it with a bit of yogurt. It is hard for me to imagine that you are eatting something cold to cool you down when a hot cup of coca would be more what I would need in this climate right now.

Sherry how is Wayne? Usually the day after is not great. Tell him I understand the pain he is going through and I am praying for him.

Got to get off my butt.

Have a good day.

Dee, do I need a tummy tuck? YES!!! Would I have one? That depends...
I watch the makeover shows on television and I just cringe!!! I would have a tummy tuck before I ever had facial surgery! Those women look like they are in soooo much pain!
Of course, this is coming from someone who tries to be noble and give blood, but usually ends up flat back with her legs in the air because I looked at the needle!
If you think it will make you feel better about yourself and you can afford it, then I say GO FOR IT!!!!! I'm sure Larry loves you regardless if you have an extra pooch or not and I'm sure he will want you to do what will make you happiest!

I'm back......

Just finished a meeting with the FBI so now I have a few minutes to chat.

Dee, if I had the money and the time off, you better know I'd have plastic surgery. Of course, I don't see either of those things ever becoming a reality. I was watching a show last night called "Extreme Plastic Surgery". Oh my, you should have seen some of the things people had done. One woman had butt cheek implants so she would have a rounder booty! One woman had had something like 42 procedures on her face. Her whole face looked like Michael Jackson's nose!!! I know there are extremes, but I can think of a couple of things I would love to have done.

Just created a ticker for my signature (hope no spyware is attached to it!!) and wanted to see how it looks.

And, yessss, I now have over 100 pounds to lose to be considered "healthy...." How depressing.

Plastic surgury? In a heartbeat!! Of course, they recommend that you maintain a weightloss for a year or more before surgery, so it'll probably never happen for me!

Oh--I bought 10 sessions with a personal trainer/faux nutritionist at my gym. We're gonna plan menus, work out together and get my fat a$$ back in the groove! I changed my schedule at work from 7:30-5:00 to 8:00 to 4:30 so I can go to the early morning workout group. Y'all will be seeing more of me on the exercise board in November--I have been walking/riding some in October, just not enough to worry with on the board--sorry!

Hello

Well....You'll never believe this! On the way home from physical therapy with Wayne, my cell phone rings. It's the school calling. They said they thought Drew had broken his ankle in PE playing basketball!!!! I took him straight to the ER. After xrays and 2 hours later, they said it was not broke but maybe would of been better if it was because all the torn muscles (bad sprain)that he's got hurt worse then a brake. They put a leg brace, gave antinflamtory pills, pain pills and CRUTCHES! Now I have 2 on crutches!!!! :(

The PT was very hard on Wayne. He was hurting pretty bad by the time they were done. He has to go 3x's per week. He can't drive, we have 1 car so we're still trying to figure out how he'll get there! I took yesterday & today off work so I have to go back tomorrow. I am finding out that I WOULDN'T make a good nurse!! I'm loosing my patience and ready to go back to work!

Dee,
I say....GO FOR IT GIRL!!!!!! If I had the money there are things I would want to do!! Though a tummy tuck isn't one of them. I guess you would say I was blessed by not having a big belly or stetch marks. My problem is my big legs, boobs & butt!! I'm so glad you asked and I'm looking forward to seeing how everyone feels about this. BTW: I'm so glad you are sleeping better now.Hopefully in time the mornings will feel better for you too. BIG HUGS & LOVE YA!

Gayle,
Your Halloween treats & ideas sound adorable!!! You have so many talents! We have a lot of trick or treaters here. The neighborhood is full of kids. We have a ballgame that day but hopefully I'll be home by 5:30. I LOVE to pass out candy and see the outfits. Are you going to take pics of Alison?

Ramona,
Your post touched me so much! I think it's a wonderful idea of having 3 trees with one of them for your Mom. I can just imagine her smiling now! :) Thanks for the peep talk. I KNOW I'll get through the rough times. I'll learn to make everyday special for my family even with Chris gone. It will be hard at first but I'll make it!

Hello to all.....

BTW: Debbie will be posting tonight to tell everyone about her visit to the Dr. I was going to tell yesterday but decided she should.

Sherry...Bless your heart!!When it rains it pours!! Please let me know if I can do anything. Going back to work will help you...LOL. Give Wayne and Drew hugs for me. :grouphug:

Last Thursday I went to the Vanderbilt Asthma Sinus Allergy Program. I spent the whole day there.I had lots of tests run on me. I have had chronic sinus and upper respiratory infections for 5 or 6 years. Come to find out, I have Asthma and they said I probably have had it for several years. All the things I thought I was allergic to just triggers the Asthma. With all this congestion I feel, my lungs and sinuses were clear. I'm on Prednisone for 10 days and several nose sprays and an inhaler. I even went through an educational class to learn how to help myself live with my condition. One of the MAIN things I have to do is QUIT smoking!!!! I have really cut down but I know I can not do this own my own. My nerves is too bad!!

Question... I am considering Hypnosis!! What do you guys think of it? I may even do it for weightloss, Lord knows on this medicine, I'm eating everything in sight. If I do this I have a long list of things I'm getting changed while I'm knocked out...LOL.

Dee-Are you kidding?? I say DO IT!! I have wanted liposuction for years. I am like Sherry, and don't have a tummy problem, but if I could have something done these thighs and this butt I would do it in a heartbeat!

Sherry-Wow! Tell Drew to take care of that ankle. You poor dear! Please take care of yourself while you are taking care of everyone else!

Cheryl-Good luck with your trainer. Sounds like you are ready to get yourself in gear!

Debbie-I have considered hypnosis for weight loss before. I just wonder if it really works. If you do it, please make sure to let us know how it goes.

Gayle-I love those makeover shows! My mom had a face lift probably 20 years ago. She looked so scary while recovering that at the time, my SIL wouldn't let her kids see her because she was afraid they would have nightmares!

Sher, tell Drew I'm thinking of him and give him a big ol' hug! Poor kid! Hopefully his ankle will start to heal as soon as Allisons did...they say to be very careful with it for a few weeks...if he turns it again this soon, it could break. Isn't it funny how we love our spouses so much but we can quickly lose our patience with them when they are ill or hurt? LOL! I am thinking of you guys and wishing only the best!

Cheryl, congrats on making the first step to hire yourself a trainer! YIPPPEEE!!! I want one of those ticker things, even had it all setup, but couldn't figure out how to get it as a signature. Don't get depressed over the 100 pounds, with your right mind set, motivation and our support, you will do it! Did you happen to go read about JuJu on the daily skinny post? She is an AWESOME lady who lost over 100 pounds, maybe you can find some info there too.

Deb, {{{HUGS}}} my dear friend! when I decided to quite smoking I tried cutting back...nada...I had to do it COLD TURKEY! It will be a rough few months for you, but once you DO IT, you will be SO HAPPY you did! Just don't trade one bad habit for another like I did...now I eat instead of smoking! I tried a hypnosis without any luck for my smoking and to lose weight. ***But, remember, this was me, it may very well work for other people and I was in a room with others, it may work out differently one on one.
I know where your coming from about the asthma and allergies, Allison fights it constantly. We have inhalers and nose spray bottles all around here. I hope your back up and feeling better soon!

Shelley, you are so tiny, I can't believe you have considered any surgery!

Hey all! Thanks for the positive words!

To get the ticker in your signature, Gayle, all you have to do is cut and paste the info. in the 1st of the 3 boxes they give you on the last page, then save your signature. I tried to copy the wrong one at first, but then fixed it--
no prob.

Have any of you ladies watched the biggest loser on NBC? It's been on twice and so far I've watched both shows. I have mixed feelings about it...

My trainer actually suggested that I tape and watch it (for motivation, I think, NOT to model my plan after), but after reading some of the threads about it on other boards here at 3FC, I've decided to let it be.

There is a thread about it in the General Chatter section of the board.

Quick note: I'm sorry I haven't been posting to y'all individually in my last few posts. I do think about y'all (and respond a lot in my head)--just hard to get it all out in a post (takes awhile, dontcha know.)

Love you all,
Cheryl

Cheryl, I'm going to continue watching it for a few more weeks, I'm curious to see how it continues. A few of the things that really bothered me: they had the people strip down shirtless if a man or in a bathing suit if a woman, to be weighed in.
I went to TOPS meetings at one time, the people there never once asked me to strip down! :-)
I would of prefered they weighed everyone in street clothes, in an outfit they felt comfortable in, and wore the same outfit every week for weigh in. This way the TV audience could even see the difference in how the clothes were fitting.
The lady trainer grabbed all of the smokers cig's and crushed them...as a X-smoker, I know how very hard it was to quit, there is no way in HECK I could of tried losing weight and quit smoking at the same time.
The whole exercise thing...I'm all for exercise, in fact I need to do more of it myself. My problem is, they are taking basically overweight, unfit people and making them workout several hours a day. Some of the people actually vomited from it...now, how can that type of stress on the body and heart be healthy? For someone in shape, I say go for it, but not someone who is just starting out with an exercise routine.
okay...enough said, remember this is just my own perspective on the show.

Thanks for all the support for the tummy tuck. I was wondering if that is too vain. Does anyone know anyone that has had one? I fear the scar but not as much as showing my tummy.

Cheryl I love you ticker. That is a good visual way to see how you are doing. Great on you for getting some time in with a personal trainor.

Sherry tell Drew that I hope that he feels better soon. That's rough for you two immobile family members. Take care of your self. Yes I am feeling better and sleeping better. I have upper my evening meds and morning meds. Already today I have a hard time to focus to do this post. In the future it may be really short again. I will still be reading if I am not able to post.

Debbie I am glad that they found out the rot of your health problems. Larry and I have asthma. Larry says his asthma is worse he had to asmywife before he does anything. :) Really he doesn't have he just jokes about it. Dez and I both have asthma. I haven't heard anything about hypnosis but I have heard of lazer therapy that has been very successful.

Shelley gee lypo on your thighs and butt. You don't see the big picture well maybe you do but it isn't big! Your small.

Gayle I am not sure what this is about but maybe you can help me. I wrote nots on what to post and I put beside your name "Biggest Loser" so what do you think I meant??? Ok now that I reread yor post I know. It was the anme of the reality tv show.....lol I watched part of it last night< I didn't know the name until I read your post. It is kind of a mean degrading show. That one guy was sure mean when he voted off that girl. I wouldn't be caught on that show.

Guess what happenned to me today. I chipped a little corner off my front tooth. My teeth look great but because of the sins of my teen years are not cavity free. Teeth are so important to me. I was just checking into getting mine whittenned professionally this week. Well I guess I will be able to do that in person when I am getting my tooth fixed friday morning. I guess it could be a lot worse. No big smiles forme for the next few days. Not sure how he will fix it.

Dee, if I was on that show, then next week regardless if he was the biggest loser, I would kick his butt off! He was very rude and it was uncalled for. The way he just laughed his comment off really irked me.

I have been wanting to see the show, but I keep falling asleep before it really gets going. They do have an encore showing on USA, but I'm not sure what the time or day is.

Dee-Sorry about the tooth. The front teeth are the worst for anything to happen to.

Sherry-I hope both Wayne and Drew are feeling better today. How's work going? The secretary has been out for the last 2 days at my school, so you can imagine who's name everyone calls out when they need something! I'm beginning to hate my name!LOL

Gayle and Cheryl-Those tickers are quite interesting. I'm going to look up the website and see what they are all about.

Remember if you get the chance tonight to watch the lunar eclipse. I think that we are going to miss it because it clouded over and is rainning.
