Hello all Thursday weighers. Everyone is invited to join our group here. You will get encouragement, information, and above all, friendship.
Not all of us can weigh on Thursdays now but we still come here.

We have had a tragedy in our group. Susan's precious baby, Seamus, passed away. All our thoughts and prayers are with Pat and Susan now.

Hi all. Tonight was Tim's Eagle Scout Ceremony. It went well, and I didn't even cry very much. His old cubmaster from where we used to live was there, and he awarded Tim with a special award. The son of a man he knew was killed 3 days before his Eagle Ceremony 15 years ago. This man made a special award for special Eagle Scouts that Carl would run across over the years. Carl thought that Tim was one of these special scouts who deserved this honor. Tim's is the 7th one that Carl has given out over the 15 years. It was very touching for everyone.

I'm hoping that maybe my life will calm down now and I'll start having more energy. I'm taking medicine for the pain, and I'm sure that is making me tired. I do know that the cooler weather is making the aches and pains worse. Not looking forward to winter at all.

Good evening,
Oh Tammy, that is wonderful about Tim!!!!! I'm so proud of him, too.
And, that special award------I would have blubbered if I'd been there. It's a good thing I wasn't because Tim would wonder who that strange lady was. :)

Cool weather bothers you-----you'll have to get battery-powered warm socks and wear an overcoat to school. That might keep your students' attention.
How is everyone doing? We placed membership at another congregation tonight. The one where I've gone all my life and where I worked has gone downhill fast because of the strange minister. We are happy where we are now. We feel like we can actually worship now.

everyone have a great OP week

Hey the battery powered socks sound great! I have recess duty tomorrow, and I'm hoping it won't be as chilly. I've really been miserable. I found a section on 3FC that talks about dieting with health problems. There is a section on it about fibromyalgia, so I may be checking in with them to get advice.

I'm so glad that you like where you are attending church now. It is so important to be comfortable with the church and its members. Tim and I go to church regularly, but Bob rarely attends. He isn't comfortable with the way the preacher does his sermons. I told him that we could check out other churches, but he isn't interested at this time. I'm not going to push the issue.

I need to go get some things done, and then I'll be heading for bed. I wish tomorrow was Saturday so I could sleep in!!!

Hi,

I'm trying to stay busy. Life just isn't the same. I'm not sure what I'm going to do for the rest of my life without Seamus. He was so precious and I thank God everyday for giving him to me even if it was for only a short time. Thank you for all of the thoughts and prayers.

Tammy, I've thought of getting those sock before however it never gets that cold here for too long. I hate for my feet to be too hot or cold.

Tina, is it hot down there again. It is here back into the 90's.

I steam cleaned the carpet yesterday. Today, my girl friend is taking off for a doctor's appointment and then we are going to look for her a dress for her daughter's wedding in Jan. We both aren't big shoppers but are determined to find her one. It will be a good distraction for today.

Guess I better go hop in the shower since I'm suppose to meet her in a hour.

It's Thursday, I think
Susan , it's so good to see you posting. You know that we are all here with you, hoping to do whatever we can to help you through this tough period. We all love you!

Tammy , I hope it warms up for you. It's very warm down here.....in the 90's, with humidity.

Did y'all miss me???? Probably not. Larry and I went on a very short trip to San Francisco. Since we weren't getting "outsourced," Larry wanted to get away for a few days. We really got away!
It was cold and wet the whole time. I came home with a dilly of a cold. I'm trying not to talk much today....or I'll not have a voice.
It was inevitable to get sick. We were in and out of the rain, getting wet and very cold. It was a pretty good trip....nice to get away.

Sis, Mimi, Maureen, everyone else ----how are y'all????

Susan, glad to hear from you. I know it is hard getting about the daily routine. Staying busy is a way to think of other things, but Seamus will always be in your mind and heart.
Like Tina said, we're here for you and love you very much!!!

I wish I had some 90 degree weather. I would take 70's and 80's. I stayed home today. I could barely move when I got up so I took some medicine and went back to bed. I slept for 4 hours straight! I felt better this afternoon, but this evening the aches started again. Time for some medicine and bed.

I'm glad tomorrow is Friday.

Tina

It's Friday!
I bet everyone is ready for the weekend.

Tammy, are you feeling better today? I hope so. Does what you eat help the pain?
I feel lots better this morning. Being sickly is one way of losing weight. I'm not sure how much I gained but am sure some of it came off yesterday.

Have a good one.

Hi ya'll,

Tammy & Tina, sure hope you are feeling better. It's no fun being sick.

As for me, I went and exercised again today. I've gone everyday with the exception of yesterday. Pat's band is playing tonight and he is going to join them. I think I might drive out and see them too so I don't stay home by myself. Well, guess I'll go clean the office and Seamus' room carpet, then the entire house will have clean carpets.

Susan, welcome back. We missed you. You have been in my heart and prayers. Good to see you posting.

Tina, I'm still here. Bumming at times but still trudging along. Just trying to get in a better frame of mind. The weather is colder here now. Not freezing but a high now of about 50 is as warm as it gets. Next week probably much cooler. I'm looking forward to the week after next for our anniversary get away time. I always look forward to going away with my hubby for a couple days. :)

Hope everyone has a great week end. I love fall and the color changes...Sis :D

Friday I felt pretty good most of the day. Today I slept in till 11:00!! Felt good. I didn't feel bad until I went outside. It's rainy and cool again. I'm supposed to chaperone the band to two contests later today. They play at 5;15 at the first one. After that, we'll grab something to eat, jump on the buses, and travel to the other contest about an hour away. Playing time there is 8:45. These are the last 2 contests. Hopefully, the band will qualify for state contest. Even though they've done well at the other 2 contests (1st place at one, 2nd place at the other), their overall rating was a "2", they need an overall rating of "1" to qualify for state.

I'll be dressing warm. Long undies, thermal socks, heavy coat, gloves, scarf, blanket. I should go buy some hand warmers before I leave. It's much warmer than last weekend, but I'm cold just sitting here in the house!

Maybe I'll go get some papers graded until it's time to leave. OR maybe I'll take a short nap!!!!! Hmmm. Wonder which one I'm going to do? lol

Hi everyone

It's me again(maureen) I've decided once again to try and take control & get with the program!!! I went to weigh in on Friday(Oct 25) and I've really packed on the pounds. All I can say it that it's a good thing that I walk a lot or I'd be the size of a house.

I haven't been doing too much. Did manage to go to Ottawa and visit family the 1st week of sept. I managed to stay smoke free for about 105 days at the beginning of the year and am now about 91 days smoke free.

I promise this time to stay close to the board and post more often. Right now my comp at home is toast but I have this one at the office

take care

Welcome Home, Maureen
We are soooooo happy that you're back with us. :):):):)
It sounds like you are "up" for losing your weight. I am with ya!

Well, I got some bad news today. My family doctor passed away last Sunday. The poor man had been out most of the year with back problems. He had to have bypass surgery recently and died from an infection. My appt. has been put off all year. I thought I'd try once again to see if he'd come back to work. Some dr. is taking his patients for now. What's strange is---my original dr. died and the one I've had inherited his practice. It's happening again.
Hope everyone had a good Monday.

Hi,

Maureen, welcome back. We'ved missed you. Keep up the hard work on staying smoke free.

Tammy, how are you feeling? I sure hope better. Do they know what causes fibromayalgia?

Tina, How horrible about you doctor! I'm not sure if I was the new guy I would want to take over that practice.

I doing alright, I guess. Life sure is hard right now. I went out to the cemetery today. I try to go once or twice a week. It's suppose to rain all week so figured I better get out there today. I really miss Seamus, boy did my son have an impact on our lives in his short time here on Earth. The school district wanted to know if I would be interested in coming back to work yet. I think I'm not ready yet.

Tina

Hi all,
Sherry, we'd love you to join us. :)
We have this "chatters" thread and the "weigh-in" thread, so, come post on both of them. How long have you been doing WW? I reached goal in '93. At the moment, I'm not within my goal range and am trying hard to get back.

Susan, you are wise not to return to school yet. Please give yourself some time to grieve and heal. It's sure good to have you back posting. How is the exercising going? Are you going back to Curves or maybe to WW?

Tammy, you didn't say how you made it through both those contests on Saturday. I hope you had on enough to stay warm.

Sis, where is your husband taking you this year for your anniversary--or is it a secret??? :D

Maureen, how's it going today? Yuck about your home computer!!!

I am sooo proud of myself today because I'm actually drinking water and not diet colas. I'd thought about going without a D. Coke today. Then, I thought better--I don't want to traumatize my system tooo much.

Stay OP everyone. And, Sherry, once again----welcome to the group!

Maureen, BRRRRR!!!!!!!! that's just cold!

Tina, I've gone back to Curves and started kinda back to WW. I need to make it to a meeting this week. Pat doesn't think I'm ready to go back either plus I don't think I'm ready either.

Well just checking in - like I said earlier this week I will keep coming here and posting even if I don't have much to say. I really want to stick to program this time. So far so good. Day 5 without a chocolate bar!!

It's still cold here, but I guess I should expect this after all I do live in northern alberta

Any way I hope you all have a good day and I'll be back tomorrow

Happy Wednesday,
Maureen, it's so good to see you posting now. NO chocolate bar!!!!! :D
Boy, I'd love one of those right now. This year, I bought Halloween candy that I wouldn't touch. Larry took some to work with him for his office buddies. He's very proud that he hasn't succumb to temptation, either.

Is anyone going to a party this year? We never do. However, I'm helping decorate our church gym for a party for underpriviledged inner city kids. Decorating is always fun.

Susan, good luck at Curves.
Tammy, are you having a good week, so far?
Mimi, I've missed hearing from you.
Sis, are you drinking your water? I've done good for 2 whole days now! :)
Sherry, how are you doing?

HI,

I went to WW today, only to leave in tears. The woman asked if I was still breast feeding and I said "no, my son past away this month" (I've been able to go free since I'm a life timer for 3 months once the doctor released me) She said says as I'm teary eyed "Do you have other children?" I say no. Then she says "Oh, I should have charged you since your not breastfeeding anymore." I tell her no it's for 3 months. She says "nope it's because your not breastfeeding." I give her one of the pre pay tickets (because now I'm just trying to get out of there without crying hard) She says "oh go on" She wanted to know if I was going to go to the meeting and I said "Not now" and she said "I think it would be good for you." I just left. I thought how insensitive can someone be!!! I went out to the car and had a good cry then went on down to Curves to exercise.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Susan

Tina

Susan,
I am so sorry. It's so amazing how insensitive people can be. When you told her about Seamus, she should have been consoling you instead of asking you about other children. And, then to go on & on & on.
Again, I'm so sorry you had to endure that. It's a good thing I wasn't there.

Tina, at the band contests last week I was definitely prepared with the right clothing. I've learned over the years!!

Susan, I agree about you not going back to school yet. Give yourself some time. School for me is ok. I get so frustrated at times because the students just don't pay attention to what is going on. Haven't had a group like this in years. The boss is still a pain.

That WW person should be reported to someone. There is no way a person in that postion should act like that. She should have been there to console you in your grief. Let me know where she lives, and I'll get some friends to come and toilet paper her house.

I'm glad it's the weekend.

Hi girls!
Sorry I haven't been back since I posted I wanted to join your thread. I've ahd an aweful week tho. There's this mom at school that has decided she doesn't like me and sent me a horribly mean halloween card! On the outside it said " Halloween is just another excuse for eating candy" then on the inside it said"works for me happy halloween" She wrote under the "works for me part "But not for you!" and then wrote"hope this works" and put a roll of "over the hill thigh tuck tape" I was soooo....upset! I can't believe that a 44 yr. old woman could do such a thing. Then she was at the school for the halloween parties Friday and when she wasn't hanging around trying to intimidate me she walked by me in the hall and purposly brushed against my shoulder as she was passing me. I think she need more to do w/her time.

That's about it for me. The kiddies are trick our treating tonite. I'm handing out candy!

Happy Halloween! :) :p

Tina
10-31-2004, 10:26 AM
Sherry,
That's a deranged woman that sent that card. Are your children in the same class? Have the children had fights? Boy, I'd try to stay away from her.

Tammy and Susan are teachers. Maybe they can give you some good advice.

Hi Ya'll,

I just got back from my brother's house. I went over on Friday. We didn't do a bunch. He is really worried about me and I think he just needed to see me. We cried a bunch. He was Seamus' Godfather. I knew from the very first day that he would be it. He is and was so proud of my precious son. It was great coming back home, I REALLY missed Pat and he missed me.

I was looking through the mail and found a sympathy card from the receptionists at WW. I guess she must of thought about what happened and sent it. Her sister is the other receptionist. I thought it was really nice of them to sent it.

Sherry, I would let the principal know ASAP whether you are a parent or the teacher. That is harassment and is not called for. I would make sure that you are never alone with that woman.

Tammy, Some years are worse than others. I know at the beginning of last year, the classes I thought were going to be the death of me ended up being my favorite classes. Take care of yourself!!!! I love the idea of toliet papering. Wouldn't we have a blast and be laughing the entire time?

Tina, Is it raining down there? They keep saying rain but nothing has happened yet. Any trick or treaters? We never have any.

Maureen, Way to go, Girl!!!! Keep up the good work.

Susan

Tammy
10-31-2004, 07:19 PM
Sherry, I agree with Tina and Susan. Stay away from that woman!! AND let the principal know what has happened. No excuse for that.

When do you want to go toilet papering? With Bob working at Wal Mart, I get a 10% discount so we could really stock up on it. I have a van so I could haul quite a bit to your house. Of course, it might take me a while to get there. Leave a light on for me.

Hi Girls!
Thanks for the support and advice! Yes, she is duragned! (sp?) Yes Tina her daughter is in my sons class but there's no problem there. See, it's kind of a long story but we use to get along. We were monitores together this yr. at school. lunch monitors. Well, she and her friend decided they had a problem w/me for some unknown reason. The woman that is giving me a hard time was evidentally upset because she wanted to be on the PTA spirit day committee w/her friend. Well, the pta president put myself and my friend w/her instead. So one day she commented to me that she hated the pta president and that no one had the right to put anyone on her friends committee. Which by the way, it's noones committee. From then on the 2 of them would come in and stare and me and try to intimidate me. Her friend actually came in and accused me of not giving her kid milk money at lunch time. See, there a cabinet that we keep a lock box in that we can loan the kids lunch money. Well, there's also a box that has milk change in it too but I didn't know that. This is my first yr. monitoring. Besides the fact that I wouldn never deny a child milk money if I knew it was there. Anyway, from then on whenever I worked w/her we didn't talk. One day my friend Sandy who is another monitor told me to tell her she could take her position full time. This lady didn't want to work there, she actually quit last yr. and the principle asked her to reconsider. So she was splitting the shift w/this Sandy. They had it planned that Sandy would take over f/t in Novmber but she could start early. So I delivered the message for her to call Sandy and talk directly to her about it. Sandy showed up at lunch time and told her herself and the next thing I know this woman came up to me and said"you got your wish, I'm gone!" I told her her and her friend needed to stay away from me. She proceeded to follow me on the playground and yell at me infront of the kids. I went directly to the principles office and told him what was going on (I was so angry I was shaking and crying) she then came in and started telling him all sorts of lies. When I called her a liar to her face she left the room clocked out and quit. There....hhh...that's the story! Now she has it out for me still and I've not lost an ounce of sleep over it but she evidentally has. The funny thing is she said to the principle that she was 44 yrs old and didnt' have time for this petty stuff! Look what she's doing now.

Tammy, where do you live in Ohio? I'd love for you to bring the tp! ;) Would you still tell the principle what's going on? Where do you teach?

Tina

Tim is doing great. He's working again tonight. Tomorrow night is the first Academic Team match for the year. He is psyched up for it.

Tammy, how was your Emmaus Walk this year? Did you cry lots of tears? I hope you stayed warm and didn't get too fatigued.

Susan, I'm glad Pat worked from home. You needed the company. I so wish we were a little closer. You know, if we weren't in TX, we would be closer. Ours is such an enormous state! I'd like to be there to hug you.

Sherry, keep your chin up.
Mimi, our weather should be getting lots cooler by tonight.

Maureen, you have such great will-power. You will do sooooo good OP this time. When it gets really cold, do you continue to walk to work?

Does anyone have any good recipes for anything ? I'm so tired of the same old things I fix. :D

Happy Tuesday girls! Did you all get out to vote? I did! Thank you for all the support! I know she's someone I need to look out for. My girlfriends think she's bipolar or something?! LOL! But I am on the watch thank you!

What a crummy rainy day! Gloomy and rain all day! They had some of the city voting polls at our school and the rain didnt' stop anyone from coming out! I went in early this mng to help mydaughters grade (2nd) vote. It was so cute, the teachers had 2 booths set up and they had to fill out voter registration forms to hand to me and another mom before they could vote. Bush won....53 to 33. Good way to see how the parents are voting you know! ;)

Did my spinning class after work. I just love that class! And I'm right on pts today. But I'm thinking of going Core! LOL! Do any of you do that one? Do you like it?

Have a good night!

Howdy Folks ( as my 3 year old nephew says "Howdy Bolks"

We voted first thing this morning. I love voting!!!! There was just a few people where we vote at ( it's out in the country and I love it because there are never any lines)

It was a yucky day here too. Wet and gloomy. Today is All Soul's day so I went by the church and light a candle for Seamus. Told God to hold him until I get there and then I was never going to let him down. I have my Angel candle burning here at home. It's the one that was lite for him at his funeral.

I'm just barely hanging on food wise. I seem to eat most of my points early in the day and then have to just about strave in the evening. Need to get better at that. Haven't done the CORE program but my sister has and loved it. She did say it was very hard. Not sure about that.

I went and had lunch with a girlfriend today. I'm glad I did that. She is a one of my dearest friends.

Tina, I'm looking for new recipes too. Maybe we should do a swap. Everyone should post something yummy that they like to make. I'll have to think of something.

Maureen, how far do you have to walk?

Sherry, kids are so funny. You definitely know how their parents vote and think by comments they make.

Tammy, what's going on there?

Hi everyone

Another day. Still sticking it to it. I'm just having my lunch now. Susan, I walk about 14 blocks to work every morning and usually I have to do the banking and that's about 8 blocks each way. Sometimes I get to go 2 or 3 times so I do manage a lot of walking.

Nothing very exiciting happening around here. Hope all of you are doing okay

Mornin,

Well, today is one month that Seamus past away. It's hard to believe that it's already been that long but it seems like it's been an eternity already.

Maureen, you do get your exercise in walking. That's great. What's the weather like there?

Sherry, no loss is better than a gain. Which program are you doing? Where do you do your spin class at? People that I know that do them love them.

Tammy, how are you feeling? There was an add in the newspaper for fibromayalgia patients...... they are doing a study somewhere down here.

Tina, anything exciting going on in your next of the woods? It finally is going to be clear today. I'm so glad!

I'm going to exercise this morning and then really try hard to stick to program today.

Have a good one.

good morning all

Well another day in paradise!!! Sherry what are spinning classes(is this an exercise or it just hit me it could be some kind of weaving class)?

Tina, how are you doing?

Susan, the weather here is only 37 farenheit. I don't find it too bad(as long as it's not windy) but I know you southern belles would find it freezing.

So far I've almost finished my second week and I've been good. I've been weighing in friday on my lunch( I take the bus to the meeting and walk back). I don't stay for the meeting I just weigh in.

Well good luck on program and I'll be back tomorrow after I weigh in

Hi all, I keep thinking it's Friday. What's the matter with me? :) Wishful thinking maybe.

Susan, you are always in my prayers. You really are doing good.
I wish we could give you a group hug.

Sherry, I have an exercise bike. I've always thought spinning would be a great work-out.

Maureen , I'm not Sherry---but Spinning is riding a stationary extremely fast for a set amount of time. If I'm not telling you correctly, I'm sure Sherry can. :)

Sis, how was your anniversary getaway?????? Or, maybe it's this coming weekend? I hope you have less stress. Are you staying OP? I hope so.

Tammy, you are too quiet. I understand that you are very tired after dealing with the kids at school. I just miss you!!!!

Nothing major going on here except it was only 55 degrees this morning. Larry checked the furnace last night so we had heat. Yea!
I'm turning over a new leaf (we have lots of those) and will do better drinking more water and less Diet Cokes.

Hi,

Maureen, yes us Southern Belles would be freezing. I would be frozen. I am really impressed that you walk in it.

Tammy, I agree with Tina.... We miss you!!!! Do you get massages? I wonder if they would help.

Tina, You are too sweet. Thank you for always thinking about me. I've been drinking lots of water and I am not missing the diet dr. peppers. You can do it.

Sis, How are you? We miss you too.

Sherry, anything exciting going on in your neck of the woods?
