Default Lose 10% of your body weight by 2005 Challenge...

Hey all! I'm new to this site - . I've checked all of the other callenges and most are ending too soon for me to start with them...so I've chosen to start a new challenge. I don't know about the rest of you, but it seems like I always try to lose weight right around this time, fail, and then I hate all my Christmas pictures. This year I want to love those family pictures!

I figured that not everyone wants to lose the same amount of weight, so losing 10% of your body weight would work for everyone. Take me for example...I currently weigh 235 lbs (ugh) and 10 % of that is approx. 24 lbs. So my goal weight would be 210 lbs. (Which is NO WHERE near where I want to be but I figure it's a "do-able" goal).

I think that we should weight in every Friday or at least once a week. We could also give each other healthy eating tips for the holiday season! What do you all think?

Use these winter/holiday smilies to show how much you've lost (in your signature, similiar to a weight loss garden)...
1/2 lb.
= 1 lb.
= 5 lbs.
10 lbs.

(to get these smilies, right click on the image, select PROPERTIES, then highlight the URL address and click CTRL C (for copy) - then in your signature, click the "image icon" (yellow and has a picture of a mountain on it) and click CTRL V (for paste) in the pop up window -

If interested in joining this challenge feel free to post anytime! Good Luck!

Welcome! We're glad to have you with us!

First off, let me just say that it's never too late to join our challenges! We each set our own goals, so if you want to lose 1 pound in the 3 weeks left until Halloween (for example), then that's just fine! We don't really have much of a regular schedule, so it doesn't really matter how you do it. We don't weigh in on the same day (usually) either. It's more just a support group. Our "challenges" are things like the 100-mile Walktober Challenge, and it's not too late to start that either. We also have a Weekly Focus, for those of us who work better on a very short-term basis (this week it's "drink 64 oz. of water a day").

Nevertheless, I would absolutely love to lose 10% by 2005. That's a little more than I'm counting on (about 20 pounds, and I'm counting on 15), but I'll take what I can get.

I will say, however, that I have absolutely no idea how to get those smilies. Are they in the list now? (Can you tell how often I look at the list? )

Anyway, please feel free to join us on the Halloween Challenge, Part Two thread. We're a great bunch of chicks, and no one will even care that you join late. That just seems to be where the main activity is in this forum. It's sort of the central "chat" thread, and the rest of the forum is details.

Hope to see you there!

Can I join in???

I am as of this morning 190 on the dot so that would be 19 lbs but I am aiming for and even 20.

I am just making better food choices, drinking lots of water and exercising.

Heres to a lighter 2005 for all of us.

I am in. I am currently around 149 (tomorrow is weigh in day so I will see how much it is then. But that would mean losing about 15 lbs before 2006. I will try to do that much. that would put me real close to my all time goal so that is good. Right at 135 by the end of the year is ideal so I am in.

OK count me in!!! I love these challenges, even more, now that I have met my Halloween goal of 260!!! WHOO HOO!!

10% of my body weight is 25 lbs. that would put me at 233... I am going to round that off at 235.

I will update my signature to reflect my Thanksgiving, Christmas, and 2005 goals.

So the other day I went to the bar w/ my friends and 2 things happened that made me feel really good about myself:
1. a SUPER hot guy bought me a drink
2. a different guy danced w/ me!

I am happily married, don't get me wrong, but it still feels good to get that attention!

well since my last post here I have lost 3 more lbs. That means that I have 12 more to go but that is fine by me. That means I have to work hard enough to lose atleast 6 lbs each month but I am working towards it and if I get there I will be at 134 which will be real nice and a real change for me. I will be loving it. How is everyone else doing? Hope all is well
