I have some sad news to begin our month's thread.
Susan's baby died on Monday afternoon. Seamus was almost 3 months old.
There's no way I can imagine how Susan is feeling right now. My prayers are with her.

Tina, I just feel so horrible for Susan and Pat. So many losses lately. It is hard to keep a clear head and keep going.

I haven't been here much lately. Very tired in the evenings.

It makes us feel so helpless. I wonder some time at the meaning of life. He struggled so hard to live. Wish we could all hug right now.

I agree,
I wish we could have a group hug and cry.

Mimi, I miss you!!!!! How are you doing?

Tammy, I don't like you so tired all the time. Are you taking any medicines that help any?

Sis, how are you doing with all your stress? It seems like there's too much of it around right now.

I am so sorry to hear about Seamus!! My thoughts and prayers are with Susan and her family. I can't imagine losing a child or grandchild! Makes the things in my life fall a little more into perspective.
Tina, my stress is still high but I am dealing a little better with it. I didn't go to WI this week but my scales show staying the same. Thats ok. I feel a little more in control right now. We'll see what next week brings. Hope everyone has a good week end...Sis :)

Hi, I need some encoragement and thought y'all might like some, too.
This has been a very busy, quick week for me.
I have eaten fairly healthy stuff. I just don't seem to be able to keep the weight off. I lost 3 pounds but here it is again.
I've got to get committed before I am.

Please post your weigh-in results here.

Hi there - I've never posted on this thread before and am actually pretty new to this site. I weigh in on Wed. but there's noone on that thread......I hope it's ok to post here. After reading some of your it really puts things into perspective for me. The support you show for others is amazing.

So this is how my week went. I lost this week, which is great. However, I was way off plan and am worried it will catch up with me at weigh in next week. So my goal is to stay on plan this week and to make sure I drink all of my water.

Welcome to jorninsmama
We are so glad you are with us. Don't worry about next week. Just start back on program today and drink your water. I say that and I have a hard time doing it. :)
again---we're glad you found us.

Hi ladies just down one pound in the last 2 weeks, I am starting to get bored and we seem to be eating out a lot lately. I have confidence in all of us though, we can do it. I finally had a talk with my leader and she thought staying with my short term goal was doable and when I get there we can see how I feel. My short term goal is to get to under 200 so Hopefully siometime in this next year. I will have to rely on all of you for support, because I can't afford to go to the meetings past the end of the year.
Tina you have done so well in the past I know you will (ARE) back on course.
I think we all have the squirrel syndrome (gather all the food before winter) these last few weeks too. I notice that the group that I go to on Wed. night has slowed down in the wild clapping sessions. Lets all remember how far we have all come.

Well, I was down 1 3/4 of the 2 1/2 I gained last week. I'm ok with that. At least it was down. :) I'm feeling a bit better about things. The main stresser is still going on but I am dealing with it better. Hope everyone has a great weekend....Sis :D

T.G.I.F,
Mimi, being down a pound is fantastic!!!
Of course, you can rely on us to cheer you on.

Sis, Wow---you are getting rid of that weight. I'm so happy for you. And, you sound very positive and I like to hear that, too. Have a good weekend.

Tammy, we miss hearing from you sooooo much. Maybe this weekend, you'll be rested enough to let us know what's going on.

Susan, we are here for you, let us help you.

jorninsmama, have a good weekend.

I'm very positive this morning. I think the cooler weather helps. It was 59 when I got up today. Of course, it'll get back up to 80, but that's okay. I got out the afghan for our cat. He made a nest in it at the foot of the bed.
Does anyone have a good stew recipe ? Would you share with us, please!

Tina, I was on the go with the band Friday and Saturday. Sunday was spent sleeping almost all day. Back to school yesterday, and meetings last night. I wanted to be in bed by 9:00 tonight, but it's almost 9:20. I haven't even graded papers yet! They may just have to wait.

The colder weather is really causing me to hurt more. I don't know if that's part of the deal with Fibromyalgia or not. I guess I need to find out when I go to the doctor again.

That's all for now. Take care everyone!

Well, I didn't WI this week. I was going to but my scale show an gain of 1 lb. I was so bummed I didn't go cuz I KNEW I hadn't gained! I had been so good and walked 2.1 miles twice that week! The next day my scales showed that I had stayed the same, I'm better with that. I am getting so bummed, I have to get myself back in the mindframe I started all this with. I DONT want to gain what I have lost. I keep telling myself that. I have had my thyroid levels checked since my surgery and they say that its ok so I guess it can't be that. I just have to get motivated again I guess. We'll see what next week brings. Hope everyone has a great week end...Sis :D

Happy weekend to everyone,
Maureen------ congratulations on that loss.

Tammy, you're one funny person. :dizzy:

It's such a nice warm day here. Is everyone staying out of the candy???!!!

Tammy

LOL Tina, I have a bag of candy sitting on the kitchen counter. It is leftover from the party at school yesterday. I haven't been tempted, because there really isn't anything there that I like that much. That makes it easy. I plan to take the bag with me next weekend. I think I told you that I am going to be on a team for an Emmaus Walk? I went on my walk in 2001, now I'll be on the "other side". Anyway, Thursday evening I will go to a church about 8 miles north of here, and I won't be home until Sunday evening. There will be lots of laughing, crying, and praying. It's a wonderful experience if any of you ever get the chance to go on a Walk to Emmaus.

Today was so windy! I was so glad that we didn't work on the leaves in our back yard. They aren't there now! They are in our neighbor's yard and the field on past his house. Where the snow usually drifts in our driveway, there was a leaf drift! It was about 3 feet tall and about 12 feet wide. Tim loved driving through it. Much easier than getting through a snow drift!

Hi Ladies just a quick note to let you all know that I am still in the land of the living. When I checked my email today I had over 50 waiting for me.(about 3 weeks worth). I am taking a night school course in palliative care, and still working every other weekend too, so I am pooped. Not muck to report in the weight loss world, I am trying to get back on track, and haven't strayed too much....but those holloween treats are beckoning me. We had a windy day last night and today too, I am also at the bottom of a street that the wind clears, maybe no raking for me this year, but most are still on the trees in my yard. Thinking of you all.

OK. What is palliative care?
You are one busy lady!!!

Mimi4fun
10-31-2004, 11:00 PM
Palliative Care is caring for the dying, also called hospice care. Not as depressing a course as you might think, my clients who are dying are quite inspirational and caring.
Not enough kids tonight to clear out the halloween treats, but I tried to give my favourites away first.

Happy Halloween night,
We had so many spooks tonight. I ran out of candy. It was good timing because no more little ones showed up. We turned off the front porch light and blew out the outside candles. A couple of teens came by and we didn't answer the door.
I still have 6 pieces of candy. I wasn't sure if my great neice and nephews would come by so I saved some candy. Now, since they didn't come, I'll just throw it out. :(

Mimi, it takes a special person to work with hospice people.

Everyone have a great Monday!

Is everyone ready to weigh?????    :dizzy:
Am I crazy asking this after the weekend of candy!!!!!!!

I'm so psyched about weighing this week. I just know I'll be down. I just have to be down for my sanity. This is getting ridiculous, not losing. I just have to stick with my pts. It's just so easy to conveniently forget to journal. :)

Good luck this week.

Tammy

I am never weighing again. Does that answer if I'm ready to weight???? Yes you are crazy for asking that, and probably for many other reasons too!!!!! lol

Man... I am stuck.
I am sticking to my points this week and writing everything down.
The meeting last night was hilarious (weight wise), we usually have about a dozen to note with ribbons etc, but only 2 last night.
One of the ladies got her lifetime certificate, and it was a very special one because 2 months ago her hubbie who was a lifetime member also and attended the Wed. night meetings regularly, dropped dead of a heart attack. When the leader gave her all her stuff (ribbon, pass book, star etc) she had a gift for the leader a whistle which was the husbands. Apparently he use to blow it when the meeting got out of hand with talking etc. The leader Wendy broke down when she was handed the whistle. I never was there when this guy attended but I guess he was quite a character.
Happy fall to you all.
