I will write more in a few. I just wanted to get this started.
Hope you all are having a wonderful week.
Terri
OK I'm back.
Es,
How did the dinner go? The spinach lasagna sounds wonderful. MMMMmmmmm!
Actually I changed my mind. I am doing CORE again. I love it. When I get tired of it I will do flex. I love that we have a choice.
Zoe,
Don't blame you for not wanting to look at that pig. Did you see Survivor when the tribe had that pig on the stick? We all screamed and hid our heads. Bruce was laughing at us so hard.
You will get it together with the program. We are here for you.
I don't know what the referral is. Keep us posted if you find out.
Ruth,
CONGRATS Grandma. That is awesome. I'll bet he is so cute. I hope the new mommy is doing better now. :goodluck: with the program.
Lana,
Congrats on the loss. :cheer:
Jen,
Too funny about the black shoes. MEN!!! They are so cute.
Glad Brandon's bd celebration was a success.
We went to the Jam all weekend. I had grilled chicken on a stick. It was CORE and it was delicious. I had a total of 5 extra points the whole weekend. I had 2 beers and a few potato "chips." They were planned. The grilled teriaki chicken was too good to eat things that were "Bad." I am so glad they had that.
The bands were so good. It was a really fun weekend.

Congratulation on the birth of the newest little angel! I hope your daughter is okay, it sounds like she had a tough time of it. My best to your family.

Hi guys:
Ruthie - Congrats on the new grandson, and another beautiful name. Send pics when you can. Sorry to hear your daughter had a hard time and hope she recovers quickly.
Well, went to work today and it was rough - I have 4 Board committee meetings I'm setting up and preparing materials for all in the same week! Too much stress, I have a feeling that's why I got sick in the first place. And tomorrow the weather here is supposed to be pretty awful. Oh, well, what can you do........***** and moan, like I'm doing now
Terri - that chicken terri-acky :p (chicken named after you) sounds great - glad you had a good time. I still haven't checked out the CORE program yet. I lost 2 lbs this week for a total of 4, but that probably had a lot to do with being sick. I'll take it, anyway I can get it though
Well, gotta go to bed, I'm pooped.

I'm playing hookie from work today. Pete's off. We hardly ever spend time together so I decided what the heck I'll take off & hang out with him today.
Terri, where do you keep the bowflex? It's a big machine! WTG! :strong: JAM weekend must of been so cool. :dancer: 5 points a whole weekend!!! :bravo:
Amiga, take care of yourself. Work stress can make us sick. I've been there many times. It's not worth it. Congrats on your loss! :goodscale:
Ruth, must be nice having a new grandchild. Give him a hug for me. :bb:
Someone asked if the spinach lasagna is WW. Believe it or not Points Police gave me the recipe. You layer it with ground turkey, lite ricotta, part skim mozerrella & spinach. I use Ragu tomato & garlic sauce & the oven ready lasagna. It's so easy to make & so good.
WW at Work is going well. We have 17 people. I called the main center & as soon as everybody pays a leader will pick up the money & then we start the following week. Our meetings will be Mondays at 1:00. Can't wait.
Well my friends, gotta go. I'll be back later.

It's a beautiful full moon out there, or has been for a few days. What gorgeous weather we've been having...sunny and 70 during the day then very cool at night. Good cuddling weather at night!
At work we've been catching up on some data entry, etc., so I have been there late for two nights. Yesterday was the longest...was there from 7 am till 7 p.m.
The Village offered some of us the opportunity to take Workplace Spanish classes, so I, of course, jumped at the offer. It's for 2 hours each Tuesday morning for 10 weeks, taught by an instructor from the local college. Best part is that it's no charge to us :D After having taken 4 years of Spanish in high school, I've found I have retained much of the grammar (the nun who ran the language dept. was a tyrant!) and the conjugating verbs, etc. BUT, I'm weak on vocabulary. This class focuses on work-related phrases. It's so cool!
Es,
That recipe sounds good! I've used ground turkey alot. I'm surprised we're not clucking and gobbling after all the poultry we've had here.
Hope all is well with everyone. October 1st on Friday
Linda, hope you're healing and getting about a bit better. Please remember, this is not just a thread for losers... I'm here for good.

Hi Girls:wave:
Jen, full moon brings out all the nutty clients at my job. I never used to believe in that but it seems like they act crazier when there's a full moon. We eat alot of chicken. We hardly ever eat red meat. So, you'll be taking spanish classes:chin:  I can talk to you in spanish now. :D
Trying to organize WW at Work is becoming such a pain. Some want different days, different times. Mostly everybody is paid up except for two. I left the Points Police in charge since I'm off tomorrow.
Jen,
That sounds like fun. ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!! I remember a little bit. I helped Britts and it refreshed me. I would love to be able to speak a different language fluently. Good luck!
Es,
Oh no, the points police aka BI### cute dog hater is in charge?
Seriously, I hope it is a big success for you.
WE have 2 huge rooms downstairs. One is the family room where the big TV is and the other is where we have a loveseat, computer desk, trophies and the bowflex and treadmill so I guess you can call it the Den/gym/sport room. It is all decorated in Ohip State University stuff. Believe it or not there is still room to dance. That is Brittany's main form of exercise.
That lasagna sounds wonderful. I will have to try it.

Jen I never took a foreign language in highschool. When I went it wasn't mandatory like it is now for college. My son Dan is in his 3rd year of Spanish. I never hear him speak in spanish though!! :) It would be fun to learn. I don't blame you for taking advantage of your work's offer. Have fun with it.

Terri, you cracked me up about the PP   Since she's such a B**** I know she'll make sure everybody pays by today. Can you give me an example of a Core day?
Lana, where do your work?
You all know I work 4 days a week & you know about the evil office manager. A couple of weeks ago I had to take off to take Susie to the Vet so I asked her if I could make up that day on Friday. She said no because the executive director didn't want part-timers to get used to switching their days so I said fine, whatever:rolleyes:. Yesterday, she came over to me to ask me if I wanted to come in today to make up for Wednesday!!!!!!!! I said, I can't, I already made plans!! She only asked because there's alot of copying that needs to be done by today. Would you have gone in?
Today is going to be a beautiful fall day. I'll go for a walk later on.
Have nice day.

Good job on the walking :D This is the best time of year for it.
Es,
I would have done what you did, stuck to my guns and said I couldn't come in; but then, to make myself look good and keep future offers open, I would have said that with more notice I would have been glad to accomodate them.
Terri,
Your home sounds huge! We have no basement, are in a single level 3 bedroom ranch. The treadmill and exercise bike have made their way into the dining room, so we're thinking of simply changing that to a game/exercise room. It's an enclosed room, not open to others, so we can close the door when necessary. The only piece I want to hold onto is my Mother's china cabinet, but have nowhere else to put it. :( Sometimes I yearn for something bigger in terms of a home, but don't want to clean/maintain anything larger than what we have now!

Jen,
The whole house isn't huge but the 2 rooms downstairs are. The family room has a full bath so it is great for company. The rest of the house sits on top of these 2 rooms. The kitchen, living room, dining room, bathroom, 3 bedrooms and our master bath.
Es,
Here is a sample of my CORE day last Thursday.
BREAKFAST 7:30
cream of wheat
1 and 1/3 c.skim milk
ff margarine
splenda
1/2 c. skim milk to drink
2 cups GREEN TEA
LUNCH 12:00
whole wheat pasta
Core sauce
1 small bite of Bruce's cheeseburger - (1)
4 small fries-(.5)
GREEN TEA
As far as the working question. I would WANT to say No BLEEPING way, I wouldn't want part timers to get used to making up days but the butt kisser that I am I would have said O.K. if I could. But if my plans were already made I probably wouldn't.

We received a call at midnight on Saturday from Joey; Iliana's daughter, Jackie, who was not feeling well with strep throat, had stopped breathing. The paramedics brought her to the hospital, working on her enroute. By the time Joey arrived at the hospital, an hour later, she had died.
The drs. believe it was a heart attack, there will be an autopsy.
It is heartbreaking. I can't bear to watch another mother lose a child.
Iliana is a very strong woman, but just lost her father in May, and now this. Jackie was only 19.
Joey is devastated, he had a wonderful relationship with Jackie. Jessica has had a difficult time explaining it to the boys, especially Brandon, who took the news badly.
We have lost an angel. She was such a sweet girl. While Jackie has not been in our family for very long, she has made a difference in all our lives.

Thanks, Terri, Es, and Dianne. We have not had word yet about the autopsy results, but, as Joe reminded me, it's not CSI. Jackie was in good health, no known heart problems. She was profoundly deaf in one ear, and partially in the other, as well as developmentally disabled. I don't think however, that her disabilities had anything to do with it. We'll find out.
Tomorrow is the wake, and the funeral on Thursday. We have to get through that and hope the grieving process helps Iliana along. She is doing ok, considering.

Hello ladies,
It is so hard to believe that we are already in October. Where does the time fly? I'm caught up in school, so I thought I'd take a few minutes to catch up with you guys.
JEN, I am so sorry to hear about Iliana's daughter. My prayers are with all of you. Sometimes life seems so cruel and unfair.
ZOE, I've been away myself for the last few weeks. As for the diet thing, you'll be back on track before you realize it. When life becomes too busy, I find it difficult to stay OP. But, I have finally climbed back on the wagon after what seems like years! In fact, I guess it has been over two years that I last lost anything. Today is my 4th day of being OP.
Thanks everyone for the congrats on the grandbaby. I will post pictures tonight or tomorrow. Both mom and baby are doing great. BUT, Dylan has had another seizure. We still haven't a clue as to what is causing them (doctors don't seem to thing it's the large cyst in the brain!!) I'll keep you posted if we find out anything. I've been reading on the internet that the medical profession has no idea what causes seizures in 7 out of 10 people with epilepsy.
BTW, grandbaby #8 may be on the way. My husband daughter Misty thinks she is pregnant. Good thing I'm graduating soon, I'll need a good job to help buy Christmas for all of the young ones!!
Congratuations to all of you that lost, hopefully I will be joining you next Monday with a decent first week loss.
Well, it is almost time to go home. I'll talk with you later.

Good morning everyone!
I am so excited, the scales are being kind to me. I'm not officially weighing in until Monday, but I'm already 7 lbs down as of today. Since Monday, I stayed within my points and I still have all my flex points for the weekend. I have two things fueling my desire to lose; first, last Saturday I went shopping for dress clothes. I bought a beautiful black suit size 16, but the shell that goes underneath was too snug. So, I have to lose enough for that suit, the other thing is that I will graduate in 7 months. As I walk across the stage, receive my degree, then step off the stage to take a photo with my degree in hand, I DON"T WANT TO LOOK LIKE THE MOON (I have a large face) holding up that very important piece of paper. I want to be able to display that photo with pride, not hide it because I don't like the way I look!
Lana, I'm still waiting to hear from my daughter on Dylan's appointment. He is back on the anti seizure medication, I'm hoping that will stop the seizures. When he had the first seizure in July, they put him on the medication but then the doctor's tried to say that it was probably a heat stroke and my daughter could take him off the medication. Now three months later he has another one. I swear I'm not too fond of MD's anymore. It's been so long since I've seen one that is worth a flip. Sorry, I just had to rant a little bit.
JEN, I hope your family is okay. I know yesterday must have been hard. We are here for you. How is your son doing? How is Iliana?
Well, I've got some ironing to do, before I go to the school to pick up my check. Yesterday and today was our fall break, I've enjoyed the two days off.
Talk to you later,
Ruth

Thank you to everyone for the thoughts and prayers, it means a great deal to me.
The autopsy revealed that Jackie's heart had never fully developed. In the aorta, which is the main artery, there are supposed to be 3 outlets feeding blood to the body, one never developed, one developed a blockage of some type, and the remaining one could not do the work by itself, resulting in a heart attack.
She never had a health problem, was very active in sports (was buried with her gold medal from the Special Olympics for basketball), so there was no reason to think her heart was in that condition.
The wake and funeral were emotionally draining, but full of good stories about Jackie. Iliana is going through the motions. It will take some time. She is such a strong woman, I admire her tremendously. Joey has been by her side every minute, and has been a huge comfort to her. He took the entire week off work; I know it will be difficult to go back on Monday. He's doing better each day, time does help.
Ruth,
You will be gorgeous when you are handed your diploma. I'm very proud of what you're accomplishing. My prayers are with Dylan.
Lana,
Belated happy birthday to Dan.
Jess and her family are coming for dinner tomorrow. We need a day together. Due to baby-sitting difficulties, they had to bring both boys to the wake. They were well prepared w/backpacks loaded w/things to do in the lobby. Brandon asked if he could see Jackie. Jess had discussed it with him, and it was something he really wanted to do. Brandon thinks things through very thoroughly before making decisions. We knew it was important to him. He did very well, I was proud of him. To think that he's growing up so quickly is too much for me right now!
Again, thank you to all of you. You are the best. :grouphug:

Ruth, woo hoo :cp: 7 lbs.!!!! Do you have a goal? If you walk at least a 1/2 hour 4 to 5 days it'll speed it up:tread:. I hope they find out what's causing Dylan's seizures.
Lana, I hope Dan had a HAPPY BIRTHDAY:balloons: I would like to go to Applebees. I ate there a long time ago. Which meal did you have? I know when you did everything right & you gain it's a big disappointment but it's probably water. Hang in there. ;)

Good Saturday Morning my bud's ~
I'm getting ready to leave for a day at the races. Me and 3 other friends are having a girls day at the horse track. Ha! Can you believe it, the horses?? We have reservations in the upscale dining room with a table right on the glass! The bad thing?? It's a super buffet lunch. Ugh! I've been so so bad. I am really pretty tired of eating to tell you the truth. Greg left yesterday for Boston until Tuesday and I am going to prepare for a more healthier eating plan. I am starting without him (tomorrow of course.....how can I start today with a buffet staring at me :yikes: ) I am going to the grocery store late today or tomorrow and be ready. I've not been to WW in weeks either! My leader, Marsha, is probably wondering what happened to me. I think I'll email her today, shamefully, and tell her that I'll be there no matter what, next Saturday morning.
Jen ~ still thinking about all of you. Hope everyone is feeling somewhat better......as good as could be expected. I am continuing to lift you all up in prayer.
Es ~ If you get to Applebee's, have the WW Mesquite chicken salad. Yum! And only 4 pts!!
Ruth ~ WTG on the loss....you're going to look great when you get that diploma. Congrats on that too!
Lana ~ Don't fret on that small gain. With all the exercise you're doing, it's going to catch up with you and all of a sudden, WHACK! you'll lose a good amount. :)
Hi Terri and Dianne.....I know I probably missed someone and I apologize. I am running out the door now. Maybe I'll win a few bucks at the races.....talk to you's guys later.

I had the lemon cheesecake YUM!!!!!
Jen,
I'll bet that was so hard. Poor little thing. My best friend died at 26 because of something similar. It was something they didn't know. There were no symptoms.
So sad and such a waste. That little Brandon is growing up so fast. You must be proud. Enjoy your dinner.

I hope you had a great time. Sounds like such fun.
Good luck with WW.

I lost .4. I am doing FLEX this week cause we will be going out a lot next week with Fall break. More choices. Bruce and Bradley are fishing the whole weekend for Boy Scouts. Weekend is almost over. It went by so fast!
Terri, I want to go to Applebees soon. We always go to the chinese buffet. I think next time we go out to eat I'll tell Pete about Applebees. We have one real close by.
Zoe, you have to be careful with Buffets. I try a little of this & that & save my flex points for some ice cream. Where we go they have real ice cream not that imitation stuff. I had a really bad week. :( We're going thru some financial hardship & it's stressing me out. :stress: I have to control my eating habits. I'm too used to eating when I'm stressed.:nono:

Es,
Sorry you're going through a tough time. I am seriously clothes-challenged for work. Since I began the job in the spring, I've been focusing on clothes for spring and summer. Now that winter is approaching, and I've unpacked the winter stuff, I'm panicking! I've got sweats and casual stuff. I've got some serious shopping to do.
Terri,
Hearing that the kids get a week off now is so different from the way the semesters run here. Hope everyone enjoys their mini vacations.
Zoe,
Any luck at the races? Buffets are the worst, like a license to eat. I try to focus on those things I never have at home/don't make. Then it seems more special and I don't overdo it.
We had a nice day yesterday with the kids. My heart just breaks looking at Iliana. She held up okay yesterday; I, on the other hand, was overwhelmed and had to head to the powder room to have a private cry. She said how she is not used to being alone, that Jackie was with her every minute(outside of school/work). It's going to take a while.

Hope they all fit. I love winter clothes.
We had a good first day on break. Tomorrow I am taking them to IHOP. We go maybe once a year. They love it but I don't want them eating that way to often. I am having no breakfast so I can have something good. I am staying away from pancakes though. To heavy. I will have a lunch item. Those are good too. Wed. we will go to a movie. Thursday to the Mall for video and food court. Friday we are spending the day in Nashville. I like staying home on breaks once in awhile. Jen, I can't believe you're getting snow flurries already. I love this time of year.
Let's talk about Halloween? Are we buying candy? :s: :chockiss: :dunno:
Terri, how was IHOP?:T
Anybody up for another challenge? From now till Thanksgiving.
Hi to the rest of the gang:grouphug:

Es,
IHOP was great. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and fries. I ate about 1/2 the fries and I had 1/2 of Bruce's pancakes. A few tastes were enough. I was completely satisfied.
I am buying candy that I don't like but the kids do. No chocolate.
A Thanksgiving challenge would be great.
How is everything? How are Susie and Sammy?
Jen,
OMG! Snow already? It is chilly here. Hard to believe this is the middle of OCT. already.
I have to buy tuxedo pants and shirt for Brandon's band concert. I hate doing these things. I like to do girl's clothes.
Hope you all sleep well.

Hi Girls:wave:
I am so tired so this will be short. I worked today. It looks like I might be working 5 days a week for the next few months. :dancer: :crossed:
Terri, did you get the pants & shirt? That's all I was used to buying, boy's clothes. How's your flex week going?
It's my oldest sister's birthday tomorrow. I'm having my family over for cake. It's a surprise. :balloons: I'll have a small piece.
Hope everybody is doing OK. :grouphug:
Till tomorrow.

Es,
Yes, It was $48. Not as bad as I thought. I had to go a place that sold and rented formals. She knew exactly what I needed. She does all the bands from my son's school.
Hope the birthday went well.
I am doing CORE this week. I bought some stuff. I had a big bowl of cream of wheat and had some milk. I am not hungry at all still. I am going to make something good tonight and then have popcorn with melted ff cheddar cheese.
My back is bothering me so badly. I'll have to take it easy for a few days.
Have a great weekend.

A quick "HI" to everyone.
Joe and I have spent the day running errands and shopping, thought we'd just veg tonight, then found out that we're having Jess and her family overnight :D She and Mike are out with friends, Brandon went out with Joey and Iliana, and Matt is here with Joe and I. I'm pooped, but glad they'll all come back here and I'll have a full house tonight.
Terri,
You're doing so well!
Es,
Hope the 5 day weeks go by quickly for you. It is a hassle, and I know how hard it is to get things done. The difference in your paycheck will be nice, tho. Have fun with your sister's birthday and best wishes to her :hb:
It's very cold and blustery windy. I bought a cute red jacket with black fleece lining. Have never owned a red coat and I love it. Am getting bolder in my old age
have a great evening. I'm already in my jammies

Happy Sunday:)
We had a great time yesterday. It was hectic trying to get everyone together but at least my whole family showed up. My sister was so surprised. She got teary eyed. She feels she's getting old. I told her it's just a number. That she looks great.
Jen, you go with your red coat. Hope you get to rest up. How's Iliana
Terri, glad to hear it wasn't a hassle to get Brandon's outfit
I have to buy clothes for this week. We have inspectors coming in this week to interview some atty's & I found out I will be getting interviewed too. I guess because in reality I'm doing paralegal work & I've been there so long. I hate clothes shopping.
Zoe, how did you do at the races?
Hi Dianne, Lana, Linda, Ruth, Janie, Donna & Sandy.
I'm going to my nephew's son's first birthday. I'm passing on the cake. :sumo:

Hello everyone
With October half gone and me not even one bit OP, I think that a Thanksgiving Challenge would be good for me too. I need a boost here and today I went to the grocery store and bought just like it was the begining of me WW journey. I am all set for tomorrow! So about this T-day challenge, from now until T-day morning? Sound good? I'm ready so I will be posting my results, starting with tomorrow mornings weight here at home. I'll use this scale for the challenge since I won't be at WW until next Saturday. (no, I didn't go yesterday :( )
Terri ~ I was laughing when you were talking about the mesquite chicken salad at Applebee's. My friend says that SAME thing but I never feel it. I love that salad!
The horse races was a BUNCH of fun but alas, I lost $98. :stress: The buffet was great and of course, I :eating2: too much. We all did. :ink: :ink: None of use won any money, we all lost something but hey, it was a fun day out.
Both Greg and I got a new car this weekend. He traded in a Cadillac Deville (2001) for an '05 CTS, also Cadillac. He loves it. I got another SUV. We are trying to get out of the 'upside down' payments we are in.
Jen ~ SNOW FLURRIES??? :yikes:  Hope the weather report was wrong.
Hi Dianne, Es, Lana, and Rth (who did I forget....??) I need to go read all the posts I missed. Have a great Sunday afternoon. Talk to you's this coming week.
Good luck on the T-day Challenge!!

Hey girls,
I'm ready for a Thanksgiving challenge. Now that I'm OP, I might actually see some results by Thanksgiving!
ZOE, wow, two new cars. Congrats! Good luck on the challenge. You know you can do this, you've done it before. We are all here cheering for you to jump back on the wagon with us!
JEN, snow! We are still having 90 degree days. We never have snow, one of these days I plan to spend Christmas in the mountains somewhere!
ES, I know you are going to miss your 3 day weekends. But if you have to put in the extra hours, then it's the best time of year, Christmas is just around the corner.
TERRI, did you enjoy your week with the kids? Do they get a week out for Thanksgiving, also.
I've been doing well on counting my points for the last two weeks. I've dropped from 184.8 to 176.8 (as of this morning). I'm really motivated, I just keep reminding myself of all the job interviews that I will be doing and that fateful graduation photo! I WILL DROP 50 POUNDS BY MAY 18, 2004.
I need prayers for my dad. They have been running test for two weeks now. They found a spot on his lungs and he will be having a biopsy next week. Also, Dylan is still having a few seizures. They both need all the prayers you can spare.
Time for bed.
I'll write more tomorrow.

Now for your weight loss- :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: That is awesome.
We had a good week. We just did day things. It was peaceful and restful.
They get out Tuesday the week of Thanksgiving. I love that week.
Zoe,
Congrats on the cars. I am sorry you lost $98. I'll bet the food was good.
Jen,
I never ever thought of getting a red coat. HMMM! Maybe. Sounds so cool.
Good for you. I'll bet you enjoyed Matthew. That is nice that you all are close.
Es,
I hope the inspections went well this week. I'll bet they are hectic.
I am glad your sister had a good party. What a great sis.
I went tot the Endochrinologist today. I hope the Lipitor brought my cholesterol down. I will call next week.
Bruce has to go to Nashville today . He is staying at the Opryland hotel. He wanted me to come up and meet him tomorrow night and we would stay until Saturday. Britts said she could get the boys to school Friday (She has no school on Fridays) but I just wasn't comfortable. Maybe another year with the driving thing. He said we could go up after Christmas for a weekend. The kids can hole up at home.
Hope everyone is having a great week.
Luv y'all,

Terri,
It's funny, I've always lived my life in just a bit of fear of "what people will think" and now that I'm 51, I feel absolutely free to do as I want. Thus, the red coat
It's nice that your kids get a couple of extra days during Thanksgiving week.
I love Thanksgiving. At work we get the day after OFF!!!!!!! :cb: After 24 years in retail, it is a thrill for me to be off that day :D
Plus we'll be off on Nov. 11th for Veterans' Day, which is a bonus. :D
Joe's job told him he has two weeks to use up before the end of the year, so he's taking next week off. I'm taking Thursday and Friday, so will have a long Halloween weekend :D We'll go up to Kenosha, WI to shop the outlet stores and begin Christmas shopping on Thursday, then on Friday we're going to Jess's town to see Brandon play basketball in his first game ever. He just joined an after school program with the Salvation Army, which has a basketball league. He's pretty good at basketball on the driveway, and is loving the new team.
BUT, meanwhile, I've got to focus on my weight, which has been slowly creeping up up up. How did I ever get into this mess? When I joined 3FC, I was on WW, was in the process of losing 34 lbs. for Jess's wedding. Now I'm 45 pounds heavier than when I started here :o
I know menopause has a been a factor, but in no way am I blaming it for the weight I'm at. It is up to me. Keep your fingers :crossed: that I can get my head together.
HI  Es, Dianne, Janie, Sandy, Ruth, Zoe, Lana, Linda.......we haven't heard from some of you for a while :?:

Congrats to Brandon. You will really enjoy the games. That is awesome that you get those days off. You deserve them. Enjoy Halloween weekend.
Remember it is NEVER to late to lose weight. You are still young and you will do it. I watched the Biggest Loser last night. I wish they weren't kicked off. The girl who got voted out lost an additional 15 pounds since she left the show.
I can't believe how much they workout on that show. They had losses in the 20's with the bigger ones. I could never work out that much.

Hi:wave:
I can't go back & read all the posts till later. I'm getting ready for work.
I was interviewed by 2 auditors for 1 hour :stress: I think it went well:crossed:
Jen, we can do this. I think throughout the years you & I have struggled the most. The main thing is we haven't given up. I had gone up to 191. My highest weight ever. Not to brag but I'm pretty toned because of exercising.
I love WW at work. First week I lost 1.8, second week 1.6, third 1.2. It's slow but that's OK with me. Have you tried Core yet?
Terri, I missed that show. :( I had it marked on my calendar. I went to bed early cause I felt I was coming down with something. It comes on every Tuesday?

TGIF:
Hello everyone. I just got through deciding what I'm having for lunch today and what I'm drinking tonight! Well, the accounting club is having a luncheon today and we are having Mexican. Soooooooo, I really needed to decide in advance what I'm eating so that I can have a drink tonight. Maurice and I are meeting my daughter Angela at a local restuarant (actually a bar and grill) to listen to her friend who is in a band. The restuarant is known here for their wonderful and potent Marquerita's and their good Mexican food. So, I decided to prepare for the day! That way, no mistakes and no regrets! Of course I'll be eating salads with no dressing all weekend. But it's fun to splurge from time to time.
I don't remember if I ever spoke about Angela being in an abusive relationship. Well, she finally has broken up with him and I am so relieved about it. He wasn't as physical as before, but everytime he got mad, he left. She finally got tired of it. Now she is dating what seems to be a very nice man. They have music in common, he sings and plays in a band and she use to sing in public when she was younger. She isn't jumping into a live in relationship as she has done in the past, she seems to be trying to take this relationship slower and really find out if it has any substance or not. I'm really proud of her right now. She has come a long way from the rebellous teenager who wanted to party and do drugs all the time, and now she is a very responsible young woman and mother.
ES, congrats on the 3 weeks of losses with the WW at work. Do we need to say how much we want to lose by Thanksgiving for the challenge?
JEN, enjoy your time off during the holidays and enjoy your time with Joe while he is off. How sweet, I bet you are as excited about Brandon's game as he is! Don't the grandkids grow up so fast.
TERRI, thanks for the tips on the new menu items at Applebee's. I'm going next week to treat myself for my success that I've had over the last two weeks. The scale is steadily on the downward side.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. Hi to Zoe, Sandy, Dianne, Janie, Lana and Linda.

Hi Girls:
Ruth, I think posting our weight weekly is a good idea. We have 4 1/2 weeks. I plan to lose 10 lbs. I remember you telling me about Angela. Hopefully this guy will treat her like she should be treated. My first marriage was abusive physically & verbally. I thank God I met a man like Pete.
Terri, I can't wait to watch the Biggest Loser. I have to write myself a reminder.
Linda, I hope you're recovery is almost over. Please don't stay away because you're off program. That's understandable. Many times I felt like giving up but the girls encouraged me & supported me. Come back plleaeesse. We're here to help eachother.
Jen, we have the best WW leader. She's middle-aged & lost 54 lbs. She's sweet & funny. Even when our 10 weeks is up I'm going to continue. I have to find out what center she lectures at.
I have so much running around to do today.
Have a nice day everybody. :grouphug:

I lost 1 pound this week. This puts me at 130.
I am doing CORE again this week and I was wondering if you know if 94% FF kettle corn
is CORE. All the nutrition facts are the same as 94% FF Popcorn except the kettle corn has only 240 Mg. sodium compared to the popcorn which has 410 Mg. The kettle corn also has 1 less carb than the popcorn.
The 1 difference is that the ingredients are the same except the kettle corn has sucralose
which could be the only reason it isn't CORE. The sucralose doesn't add to the calories or fat. It doesn't trigger cravings in me at all. I wonder if it would be ok for me to eat this sometimes as CORE.
I hope you are all having a great weekend.

How was your evening out? You did a great job of planning for it. Hope you had fun!
Es,
I'm glad you have such a good leader. That's half the battle. I've been meaning to ask you...how is your brother's gym doing? I hope he's doing well.
Joey's birthday was yesterday. He turned 26 and I'm wondering how in the world he could be getting that much older when I'm not! ? !
We were to meet him and Iliana at his favorite Japanese steakhouse (where they cook tableside) for dinner, but he cancelled due to being ill with the flu. He wasn't feeling so great on Thursday and Friday, then ended up w/a fever of 102 yesterday.
We have a party planned for the 30th for his bday; Jess and my niece will be here with their families for a sleepover into Halloween. At least he'll be better by then and we can celebrate.
Which brings me to the flu issue.....we have been absolutely flooded with calls at work from senior citizens and people with chronic illnesses in search of the flu shots. They are scared; many of them have received the shots for a number of years now, and they're terrified of going without it. The seniors especially; some are near tears when they call us. What a nightmare. How could this happen in America?

Me again....where is everyone? :?:
I just received a call from Joey, he's got pneumonia, and is home until at least Thursday. He went to the dr. today and was told to get a chest x-ray to confirm it. I feel so badly for him. He and Ili spent the weekend together...they both had Fri. and Mon. (today) off because their original plans for his birthday weekend were to go camping. Then when Jackie died, they decided to stay at home for the weekend. I know his resistance was down due to the stress of all the recent happenings. My baby! I feel as though he should be here at home in his bedroom with me taking care of him. That feeling will never go away I suppose.
Hope everyone is having a good Monday...stop by and say HI !

Hi Everyone,
I am finally dropping back in.
Jen, I hope Joey gets well quickly, I can understand only too well how stress can affect one's health. I was so sad to hear of Jackie's passing. I hope that Iliana is coping ok. It will take a long time for the pain to diminish, but I hope that everyone around is sharing the treasured memories of her life.
It will take a while for me to catch up with you all. I think the last time I posted was right after Greg came back from his trip to Transylvania. David, our older son, has moved back home. He is finishing his final college credits by taking one course at the local community college. By Christmas he will have all the requirements to graduate. In the meantime he is delivering pizzas and applying to all the local tv stations for a job in production.
Greg is back in school for his senior year and is back in the drama club too. I think he is recovering well from his depression, but I still tend to hover as a protective mother.
As far as WW goes, I am planning to rejoin with my favorite leader this Friday. We have been thinking a lot at home about healthy eating in order to stay well. Greg is a prime mover in this, all of a sudden he is eating vegetables, legumes, and fish. So, I think that the Core plan might just be the ticket for me. Having 3 adult males in the house to feed has me feeling as if I am either at the market or at the stove all the time.:chef:
I have to get to work, I will check back after I read some older posts to get updated.

Jen,
I hope Joey will be ok. We will always be worried about our babies. Keep us posted. Have fun on Haloween.
That is so sad about the flu shots. I feel for all those that are scared. My parents had to wait for a long time on Sat. but they got it.
Sandy,
I'll bet it is nice having David home. I can't imagine any of my babies leaving. I know it will happen one day. :(
I am so glad to hear that Greg is doing much better. That is testament to a good set of parents and a wonderful home.
Good luck with WW. I am so glad to hear from you again.
The popcorn problem was solved. The only reason Kettle Corn is not CORE is because it can be a trigger food. I don't react to trigger foods so I can use it as CORE. I was told that popcorn (94% ff) is CORE and that I could use spray butter and splenda and make my own Kettle Corn. The kettle Corn has sucralose in it which is what Splenda is made of. So I don't see why I can't use it. The 94% ff popcorn has twice as much sodium as the kettle corn (94%) so I will eat the lesser of the two evils.

Hi:wave:
Halloween is here!!!! There's candy everywhere. :( I bought candy that I hate so I know I'll be strong this year. Only problem is it's David's girlfriend's birthday & he wants to cut a cake here. That'll be hard to resist.
Terri, my leader lost 28 lbs. on Core. She had a whole discussion on kettle corn. She said it's sweeter. I gained .6 this week & when she saw my face she quickly said not to worry. It's 3 strands of hair. I love her. Where did you get all your motivation from? I think the last time I weighed 130 was when I was 11 years old. I've been chunky all my life. :sumo: WTG!!!! :bravo: :cp: Do you like Core better?
Jen, how's Joey? Is he feeling better? I can't even imagine what Illiana is going through. There can't be anything worse than the loss of a child.
Of course I waited till the last minute to make candy bags for Halloween. That's what I'm going to do as soon as I sign off.
Have a great day everybody. Don't forget to set your clocks back.:dancer: More sleep!! :D

Hello Friends
Yes, it's me......I've been away from here for 2 weeks!! So sorry.....life has been crazy as usual and I've been trying to sort out some things in my life, career wise. I have been so undecided about what to do. I talk it all over with Greg and he is so wonderful, so supportive of ANYTHING that I want to do or decide. So I decided that I just don't want to work full time anymore. Now, giving up 10 or more hours a week makes me smile but I will have to give up my management position. Not a big deal either since I HATE being the boss. I mean, I'm a GREAT worker, will give 200% of myself but I am not a delegater, cannot write someone up (they're so into that stuff) and cannot tell someone they are not doing a good job. It's just not me. I've been the manager in my dept for quite a number of years but feel like a failure because I know in my heart, that I just haven't done a good job. So.....there are a few options that I will pose to my boss on Monday.....one of the BIG issues I have been dealing with is that if I'm not the manager, the next person to be in that position (who I might add will be WONDERFUL at it) is someone who now works for me. Can I answer to someone who once answered to me? That's a good question. Obviously, it won't work out if I go into it with a negative attitude......my boss is supportive of my decision (probably relieved that she won't have to remove me from my position some day...hahaha) and wants me to think it all over this weekend. I just don't know. I'm so excited about not working full time anymore, having more time to do other things and even just do a lot of nothing at first.......but I'm also some what apprehensive since this is a huge change for me now......anyway, this is what has been keeping me busy the last few weeks....thinking, thinking, thinking......
I'm going out of town in about 30 minutes until tomorrow for a surprise overnight in a B&B for a good friends 50th birthday. There are 7 of us ladies, all between 42 and 52. Should be a blast. Oh, my roommate who is also a very good friend, is my boss.....gosh, I am such a mess.
Thank you so much for listening to me ramble on here. I will be back tomorrow afternoon and hopefully, come up with a decision by Monday. Hmmmm, how about 20 hours in the office and 10 hours at home?? Wow, that sounds great!! :D
Talk to you's guys tomorrow. Have a wonderful Saturday!!

Hi everyone
Sandy,
How great that you have the family together....even if you are outnumbered by the males now! Good job on the decision to improve your eating habits. The older we get, the more aware we become of how important our good health is.
Zoe,
I can understand why you want to cut down on your hours. You will make the right decision...and enjoy it tremendously! It's difficult to find the time to do anything now that I'm back to work full time; the 3 and 1/2 years I took off were absolute heaven!
The holidays are almost upon us! :yikes: I've never felt less prepared.
AND don't forget, as we used to say in Chicago....VOTE EARLY AND VOTE OFTEN!

Jen, I hope Joey is getting better. I will send some cyber chicken soup if he needs it.
Es, I just love your avatar with the little pug! I think about you whenever I see that kind of dog. Are Sammie and Susie good buddies nowadays?
I truly wish there was candy that I hated. We have a lot of leftovers, I got chocolate since the guys like it, but I think I am potentially tripping myself up, and on my first week back too!
Terri, You are such a great role model for all of us. I admire your success and persistance. I am really glad to find you here supporting all of us who struggle. WW is truly a lifetime proposition in order to keep the weight off.
Zoe, take your time making your decision and it will be the right one for you. Time to reflect and fulfill other parts of our lives is such a blessing.
Today is it! I will be so happy if the election is decided by tomorrow and we can move on. I pray that we do not go through the same thing as in 2000. I was talking with a friend who said that the political commercials have her feeling as if she has been subjected to verbal abuse. I will be so relieved! We have been getting numerous recorded phone calls imploring us to vote and for whom.
Later, :grouphug:

Sandy,
Hi! Nice to hera from you again.
I do CORE. I go back and forth. Next week is CORE!!!!
Yes, it is a struggle always. I think WW is such a great lifestyle that I can live with.
I can't wait also until this is all said and done. Nerve wracking.
Es,
How was Halloween? You will get that .6 off. Never let that deter you. That is life. There will be small gains. Just pick yourself up and start over again right away.
Zoe,
Good luck with everything and hope you have a great time with your friends. Sounds like so much fun.
Jen,
HI!!!!! My Steelers are doing great. We finally found a quarterback I hope. we stopped the Patriots streak. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!
I had a great halloween. I ate some candy but not to much. I hope to lose any bit of weight I might have gained this week. I feel a little bloated but better than yesterday. Candy is all gone. i allowed myself 10 points worth. It was good.
I am getting ready to go vote. Britts is going with me. It is her first time.

Terri

While I cannot say I've been OP, I did have a (for me, anyhow) victory in that I bagged up a 2 gallon ziploc bag full of chocolate candy and brought it to work! Normally I'll keep it in the house and before I know it, it's gone. So I'm feeling good about that. And, I didn't eat a piece at work!
Today was extremely hectic at work. A polling place was in our lobby, right in front of our office. We had around 160 calls from people....wanting to know where to vote, if they could register today (not! )..etc, etc. It was good to see people showing an interest. Since I don't live in a swing state, we had virtually no presidential ads on tv. I've heard they were bad in other states, tho.
I have GOT to get back on program, am trying to psych myself up, but all I can think of is all the failures I've been through. :( I love to read of all of your motivation. Keep up the good work everyone!

Jen,
That is wonderful that you what you did with the candy. :cp: :bravo: :dancer: :encore: :cheer:
We weren't a swing vote either. I saw virtually no ads. I never even thought about it until now that I didn't see any. I'll bet my family in Ohio did.
I am tired. I was up until 3:30 and up at 6:30 and my mom and sister calling me all morning. I will sleep good tonight.

Terri

Where is everybody? How is everyone doing with the Thanksgiving challenge? I don't know how much I lost this week. My leader is keeping my card till the 10th week. I told her I don't want to know. I hate weighing in on Mondays. We're going to prepay again. We have 4 more weeks to go. People are complaining about Monday being our weigh-in day. They want to switch to the middle of the week. I'm all for it. Some like the leader & some don't but you know how that is. We can't please everybody. I like her alot.
Well ladies, have a nice evening & a great weekend.
Love,
Es

Good Morning,:flow2:
It sure is a quiet weekend here!
I weighed in on Friday morning and for my first week I was down 4 lbs. I think core is a great way to go, but I find it strange to have to spend my flex points on light yogurt and bread. All I want to do though is to find a system that I can stick with and follow the rules. I have been trying to do lots of positive self talk to get inspired and to really work the program. I would love it If I could learn to eat mainly to assuage true hunger, but after all these years here on earth I know that eating can fill lots of other roles from stress to celebration (and it just tastes good too!).:hun:
Es, I didn't know about the Thanksgiving challenge, how are you doing with it? I would hate weighing on Mondays, it puts a lot of pressure on you to avoid eating out. I think most restaurant meals are larger portions and higher in salt. I try to avoid foods make me retain water (Chinese) a few days before weigh in. In the long run it really doesn't matter though, If we stick with it, the losses will show up, right?
By the way Greg has another lead role in the fall play, I hardly see him now as he is always at rehearsals. I have been helping with the costumes again with some really great gals. Dave, has an interview for a position at a TV station this coming week, send him good thoughts, he is getting tired of delivering pizzas.
Hope you are all having a great weekend,
Hugs,
Sandy
