I need some ideas!! DH and I were talking yesterday about some non-food rewards we could give ourselves for certian gols -- starting with when we've each lost 20 pounds. We talked about a night away at a B&B ;) or buying a new entertianment center we've been wanting. But, I knew you creative gals could come up with some even better ideas!

I have been thinking and thinking! :dizzy:

Any suggestions!?

:) Lauren

A lady in my favorite thread posted a very clever idea for a reward system. I personalized it for my personal goals:

DAILY GOAL LIST - reward is 1 point for each completed daily

1. Doing one 30 min walk
2. Doing 15 mins of weight (alternate leg/arm/ab workouts)
3. Doing stretching/flexibilty training daily
4. Drink all my daily water
5. Stick to my eating plan with no cheats for a whole day
6. Getting to bed by 1030pm or 8 hrs of sleep/night.
7. Meditating upon waking and before bed (inhale thru
nose out thru mouth) clear all thoughts and just
focus on feeling the soothing engery within
adding a positive mantra before and after each
meditation (mantras are life affirming thoughts
such as just thinking to yourself " i am worth
the effort it takes to be healthy, or " i will
only allow healthy life giving energizing foods
in my body today"
8. Keep a journal each day with any info, facts, goals,
thoughts, feelings on the days events, activities,
or progress, including food and fitness logs or
anything personal.
BONUS REWARDS:
Take a second 30 min walk (worth 3 points)
Do a second 30 min cardio choice (worth 5 points)
WEEKLY GOALS:
Lose 2 lbs (worth 2 extra points)
Lose 5 lbs (worth 5 extra points)
Actual Daily Points Total Earned:
T___W___T___F___S___S___M___
Actual Weekly Points Total Earned: _____
Its a successful day if i meet 6 or more goals
Its a succestful week if i get 45 plus points

When I get to 80 pts I reward with a small item under $15-20
When I get to 500 pts I reward with something additional $50

Check out this thread for her ideas:

Hope this helps!!

If you're thinking small, start with bubble baths and jazz music. Move up to pedicures and day spas for you. New power tools for him maybe? ;) A small shopping spree? Splurge and take dance lessons together. A concert.....A B&B sounds great too! Maybe a weekend trip? DF and I are heading to Niagra Falls for our b-day weekend. I hope to be leaner by then!

I love the idea that Sam gave. A points system could really help.

Sweet Tooth.....depends on the size of your tub...and well, the size of the two of you! :) ;)

Ha, ha! :) Thanks for all of the great suggestions! :) Lucky for us, our 76 year old home has a nice big tub we can both fit in and we're already 19 pounds leaner between the two of us!! :)

Thanks for the suggestions -- they are ALL great -- keep 'em coming~!

Small peanuts compared to some rewards, but I get myself a bouquet of fresh flowers for every 10 pounds lost. Then there are clothing goals, such as I'll need a new jacket this winter but I'd rather get into a Large than the X-Large, so I'll work towards that and it is its own reward.

The bathtub idea sounds good too, but maybe closer to goal.

Bathtub idea for ultimate goal reached: Buy a really big hottub or jacuzzi.

Suddenly suds sounds so splendid! ;)

Yes, Aida! That sounds lovely!

Heide -- I like the fresh flowers idea, too! :) I am hoping that tomorrow I hit the 10 pound mark, so I will have to do something as well! :)

Better yet, buy flowers for each other. Especially if you work, it's really fun to have flowers sent to you. How many pounds has DH lost?

i think it is a good idea to keep the rewards oriented with the goal.

Rewards! I have not given myself any this time! Shame on me. When I did WW I would have a goal to buy a new product or something of theirs when I reached it.
Hummmm.... I am gonna have to get thinkin on this! I'll post if I come up with something! It must be wonderful to have your husband doin it with you. Mine is skinny and says he is on the North Beach Diet! haha real funny!

DH has lost 10, and I've lost 13. :) Soooo, we are due for a "present" -- this one will be small but for 20 pounds it will be bigger! :)

Aida -- I like the idea of giving each other flowers! Hmmmm....we'll have to see. It might be new clothes if we continue at this rate!
