G'day all,

Slavika what a pain for Trudy to have computer problems again  I have Windows XP Professional and it did take a while to get used to. So much so that I changed back to Windows 2000 but have now gone back to XP again. persevered and now like it.

Ann Thank goodness Ivan decided to do a detour and not visit Florida. :cp: Certainly sounds like the busy season is starting for you. My eldest sister, since the death of her husband, sings in a choir. They mainly go to retirement villages and all they ask for is a donation. This donation is then given to their local hospital. Last year they raised $5000. :) She loves doing it and the bonus is the money they raise for their hospital.

It has finally dawned on me why people always think that my dh doesn't have to worry about his weight and how 'lucky' he is not to have to worry about his weight.
I think his secret is when he is out, he doesn't really restrict himself (or that is how it seems) so therefore people THINK he can eat what he likes.
I am always saying 'I cannot have that, I am trying to loose weight' and that seems to then prompt people to encourage you to have it anyway.
It used to depress me to think, like Ann said, that I could never indulge again in my favourite things. Now that I have worked out by observation how dh does it, I KNOW I can indulge from time to time but not 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Someone commented at the weekend that I have lost weight and asked what diet I was following, I very matter of factly said that I have changed my eating habits and that I am NOT on a diet! :smug:

On that note of wisdom I will say have a great day!

Cheers
Maria

We quietly came back to town this evening. :sssh: Hoping Ivan doesn't find out that we are here. People have hinted that we are the ones who brought this years awful hurricane season with us. :nono: So if Ivan doesn't know we are here he should contunue on his way.

Atlanta was a busy place. The weather up there was great. Not too hot and muggy. Very nice to be out and about in. We did a bit of shopping and I did find a place to get the rest of my hair cut off. I was going in stages. But should have gone for a crew cut the first time around. My hair was much to long for this humid weather. Now all have to do is run my fingers through it and it is almost fixed! :cp:

Ann how are things going in your neck of the woods??

Maria I love your answer. What a way to head people off and too not have them push food. :joker:

I checked my e-mail while I ws gone and found a message for the territory manager for this part of the world. Seems she has lost my information and would like me to re-send it to here so the paper work can be started. We I got to tell you I was none too happy  that this wasn't already tended to. So have told her I may not be interested in working any longer. I will be making that decision in a few days and let her know. I'm not sure if I want to start that running again. :stress: Kind of like doing as I please every day of the week. Besides I don't want to work for some one who doesn't have her act together. :censored:

Well it was a long trip home and I need to get a good nights sleep. Talk to you all tomorrow.

Hi Everybody :)
Today was Weight Watcher's and I was happy to stand on the scale :goodscale and hear that I was 1.4# DOWN. I'm getting there.
During today's meeting our Leader asked if there was any questions so I asked about the cereral that Lily mentioned that had just 1 gr. of sugar but she didn't think it could be counted as a core food as the literature says NO SUGAR.
Today instead of having Tea Time at my place Trudy and I and another friend went to visit our friend who had back surgery and took Tea Time :cofdate: to her place. She's still in pain but hopefully she'll soon be feeling better. :)
It actually turned out to be a rather nice sunny day :sunny: here for a change.......I loved it. :)

G'day all,

Well done Slavika on you week's loss. Slowly but surely we will get where we want to be!

Karen It seems to have worked you keeping quite about moving back to your place, pleased Ivan has diverted his attention elsewhere. ;)
Sounds pretty slack to me the territory manager loosing your info, how annoying.
It doesn't take long to get used to doing your own thing ;) :D , unless you miss the interaction with the members attending your meetings, perhaps it would be nice to try something new you would like to do.

This weekend dh is flying into Melbourne from Sydney and I am flying in from Adelaide to visit our dd who has recently moved house.
DH will leave from Melbourne to Sydney again on Monday morning and I will fly home Tuesday afternoon. So there won't be an official Weigh In this Monday for me.
It is going to be a bit of a test to spend 4 days with my dd, I am going to really try to stay on track. She will notice a big difference, she has not seen me since I started the weight loss in earnest. I am sure she will encourage me to do the 'right' thing.

Another thing I have started to do this week is the following......
I love my fruit but at times it is a bit of a pain to do the peeling, dicing etc. So now I choose my daily fruit allowance in the morning, e.g. apple, orange, strawberries, watermelon and dice it all and put it aside in a dish.
So now when I feel a bit peckish, I help myself to my bowl of diced fruit with perhaps a spoon of no-fat yoghurt.
It has worked well for me so far this week.

All in all, my new healthy way of eating is proving to be of great benefit, I sleep better, I look better and I feel much happier in myself. :)
The slowness doesn't concern me too much anymore, I feel very confident that this IS going to be the new me!

At the moment our local TV station has a competition and the price is a trip to the country of the Maple Leaf. The scenery of Canada is just spectacular, breath taking. A definite must to visit when we retire.
I have entered the competition but won't be holding my breath on winning :D

Have a great day all,
Cheers
Maria

Karen: I don't think you are to blame. Our Pastor says he is to blame since he has already lived through and experienced 6 other hurricanes up in N. Carolina. He has become the Hurricane Magnet. Sounds like you had a nice time in Atlanta. Maybe you could try for the regional managers job.:D: Of course, maybe, Charlie and Frances had something to do with her losing the info. That, of course, would be giving her the benefit of the doubt.

Slavika: Congrats on once again going down.

Maria: Keep up the good work. Heard on our TV that Lucent is one of the top stocks. That should be reassuring? You certainly should have frequent flyer miles with all the flying you both are doing. Hope you and dd have a great time together.

Glenda: I can just imagine you having a very restful time. Sure hope so. That is what vacations are for.

Hi everyone. 'See' you tomorrow. Ann

Thank you Ann about the Lucent stock. It certainly is encouraging. I passed it on the dh and he said that the stock had gone down 6 cents yesterday morning:(
The fact that it was mentioned as top stock on your TV service might mean that there is something we don't know about. ;)
Being an American company, Lucent very seldom rates a mention on our TV services.

Hi Everybody :)

I was talking to Trudy earlier and she told me that yet another hurricane "Jeanne"
is making itself known. :(
I don't understand why all of a sudden there are so many of them. :?:
She is picking her computer up this evening so she will soon be back online. :)
Peggy what are you up to? Any nibbles on either of your houses? I know that Maria is going to spend a few days with her DD. I hope you have a really nice visit with her Maria.
I was thinking about Marnie today. I hope she is doing well. She is likely keeping busy with her quilting.
Karen and Ann how are you gals doing? How's your weather?
Our weatherman is promising us some nice weather for the weekend. We'll see....he had been wrong many many times before. ;) :D
Talk to you all soon.

I just got my :comp: back home. I hope my problems are all over with. My son-in-law can't fix my pc by remote access because we have different ISP servers.... we think that is the reason. He can do everyone else's, but not mine, so I always have to take it over to their place and then pick it up when it is fixed. Otherwise I have to wait until they have time to come over here and that takes even longer. Maria I hope that someday I can say I like Win XP Prof too... Right now I am not too pleased with it.
One good thing about taking the pc over, we got to see the  twice this week. My DD bought her the Baby Einstein cd... they are really something to see. Tonight she wanted to watch "Vincent Van Goat".. They show all the beautiful Van Gogh paintings, with a purple goat doing the artwork with classical music playing. It is amazing the toys and videos they have for children.
I have had a sore right hip for some time now and have been meaning to see the doctor about it. Well, I waited too long. Now it is really bad and I feel like I have a pinched nerve right near the tail bone... OUCH. I made an appointment to see my doctor, but I have to wait until Oct 7. I think I told you all before that she has taken on the job of being the head of the Medical Association. This makes it really hard on her patients. I am not pleased.
So gald that Karen & Ann were spared and Ivan took a turn. Feel sorry for the other folks though. It sure looks bad where the hurricane and tornadoes hit. So much rain.. :rain:
I did 1 week on Core Program and lost 2.6 lbs... quite pleased about it... :encore:
Well gals, my back is killing me and I am ready to get some heat on it. Hopefully this is going to heal quickly... doesn't look like I will be working out tomorrow.

See you... :kickcan:

Ann: Thanks for the experience at the Shelther. You had quite a time!

Slavika: Thanks for asking about the Sugar. I did find out also it was a no. The ceral I got looked like Kashi had 8 grams of fiber. was 90 cal for a cup. I took it one day. And I could not believe for 1 gram of sugar how sweet it was. I couldnt eat. It was awful to say the least. I trashed it :( It had to be mislabled

Trudy: Sorry you had Puter problems again. at Least you have someone to fix it. WTG on the LOSS!!!!

Maria: Yes you can induldge! Its the over doing that kills us. Great answer! You are doing so good! Have a great weekend with DD!

Karen: Wow unbelieveable about your territory Manager. Maybe it is time to quit. You were always running. Maybe its time to relax for a change.

Slavika: Woo Hoo! On your loss to! That was sweet to take tea time to your Friend :)

Off to do my Sat Chores!

Going to watch The Passion of Christ tonight. Looking Forward to it

Hi all,

It has been just the best weekend. :cloud9: The weather was beautiful both yesterday and today. The sun is shining and the sky is blue and no hurricanes heading towards us.

My Friend from Minnesota was here for a very breif visit. She came yesterday about 3:00 and had to leave today at 1:00. her husband just dropped her off while he went farther south to check out his friends orange grove. The orange grove got quite a bit of damage. a lot of trees were blown over. But the people who take care of the place were fine. And that is the main thing. :) Any way it was fun to have another girl to do things with.(SIL never wants to do anything) And I finally got to use one of the pools. (Either we were on the run or they were closed because of all the rain.) it was great. The water as not cold just very refreshing. We had a great tiime catching up on what is going on in Minnesota. My friend is the gal I worked with for so long with WW. She also said maybe it was a good thing for me to give it. She said she had never seen me look so rested. And she is right. I don't have bags under my eyes any more and I do feel more relaxed.

Trudy I hope your back is better.

Lily I hope you enjoyed the movie. I bought it a few weeks ago and we watched it and I have to tell you there were times when I wished I had not. It was too bloody and violent for me. I know that is what really happened . But it was too-too much. Just one womens opinion.

Maria I hope you are enjoying your visit.

Slavika what going on with you?

Ann hope you were able to enjoy this beautiful weekend.

Hi Everybody :)

Hi Karen sure was nice hearing from you today. I'm so happy that the hurricanes you guys had are behind you, and now you get to enjoy Florida the way it was meant to be enjoyed. :) It was nice that you had a friend to visit with too. Maybe you have worked enough, and now it is time for you and DH to do whatever you want. The other thing I was thinking about, was now that you are in such a nice spot you might be getting more "company" visiting you. :D
DH and I are having a truly relaxing day. DH does need it, as his back is still hurting him, and tomorrow he is back to the office.
Lily what did you think of Passion of Christ? I didn't see it when it was in the theatres but I thought maybe on the TV screen it wouldn't be so "MUCH" and maybe I could handle it. I might feel like Karen.....I guess I could fast forward the parts that I would find to difficult to watch.
My little graddaughter phones me almost every day to discuss "Maui". Pretty soon I will have to resort to making up stuff because I think I have told her everything I know. :D
We are going to have simple dinner tonight, BBQ steak, baked potatoes and vegs. I have nice buns to go with our meal and some pudding for dessert.
Nothing else going on with me....we are enjoying a lovely day here today, I even got about 8 or 9 tomatoes out of my garden. :)

Karen L

I got to tell you that you would have to fast forward the whole movie almost.

Karen: Sure glad the Hurricanes are behind you now. What a way to start living in Florida huh? Yep she would have to fast forward thu the whole thing.

Slavika: It was like Karen Said very Bloody. I did alot of closing my eyes and I cried alot to. I just cant believe it happen. But it did. I did think it was worth watching tho. I think Mel did a wonderful job on getting the facts out. I bet Princess is so excited to go :)

G'day everyone,

I am back..........

I landed at Adelaide Airport at 12.30 and was home at 12.55!! The benefits of living in a small city :)
I had a lovely time with dd and her husband except the sleeping....it was horrendous sleeping on one of those sofa beds. I didn't like to say anything but boy I am looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight.
Well, I have said before that I rather fancy a tiny nose stud, dd and I both had one done whilst I was there. :o Mine is fine but dd had a few problems but is fine now. I felt very self conscious and wouldn't have needed much encouragement to get it out again but dd says it looks cool and this is our little bond. I am not allowed to remove unless I ring her first!!!
I forget now that is is there so I will probably leave it in a while.
In time I will post a photo to show you.

Nice to read all the posts and read everyone is well, especially Karen sounds like she starting to enjoy her new life!

Lots to do...unpack, wash, water the garden etc. etc.

Talk to you all tomorrow,

Cheers

Guys, yesterday was my first day back and I was, of course, loaded down with stuff. I did take time to read to make sure everyone was okay. Thank goodness! Karen and Ann, I know you are in a perfectly lovely place. Maybe now you can both enjoy Florida. Sure have worried about you and all the people. Just such miserable storms!

Yesterday when I got back to work I read a message from a friend from my ovarian cancer site. She has been a dear friend for over 6 years. She said she was having a heart procedure because she had had a light heart attack and asked for prayers. Going a little further into my emails I had a message from her daughter that she had died of a brain hemorrage, suddenly. I just felt so sad. We had met one evening when they were traveling across country and they stopped in Guthrie so we had dinner together. All day long I wanted to cry and last night I finally got to. You know, we all mean so much to each other, even though we aren't exactly teatime friends.

Anyway, Maria, a nose stud! You are such a wonder! You will try anything. Has anybody said anything to you? I am one of those cowards who would be thinking the world is looking directly at me.

All, the movie about Christ--I loved seeing it one time, but I would never see it again. It is too much to deal with again. Such scenes. My sons will not see it and I understand why, but it does show how much God loves us. You sure can come out of the movie with a load of guilt.

Peggy, where are you? I hope you are moving into one house and that is why you haven't posted for awhile.

Slavika - I am getting excited for you about your trip!

I took a week off and did nothing. Just things for me. It was wonderful but got a little boring. I think retirement must be something you have to work at. How do you do it? I think Karen is getting the hang of it.

Hi Everybody :)

Maria now that I actually know somebody who has a nose stud I get to ask the question  ........is the little stud for the nose the same as small earrings with a post and a back to it and do you have to put the back in the inside of nose to hold the nose stud in place? Hmmmm....and I thought I was really "with it" when I wear the toe ring that Trudy gave me for my birthday. :)
Peggy it's been awhile since we "saw" you on the board. What are you busy doing?
Ann I'm wondering how you are too. Are things in your park back to normal?
Glenda sorry to hear about your friend. I miss the gals that used to post with us and now we don't hear from them anymore, and I wonder how they are doing. Remember we had the one gal whose granddaughter ran away from home...now all these years later she would be a young woman. I wonder if she ever went back home.
I went to Weight Watchers today and was down :goodscale another 1#. :cheer: I have another 6.4# to go to get to my goal weight.
My granddaughter knows that DH and I will be meeting them when they arrive at the airport in Maui and no matter what she thinks, her Baba will NOT be wearing coconuts . LOL LOL  :) can you all just put that picture in your minds. hee hee.
Bye now.

G'day all,

Glenda that is sad news about your friend and perhaps more so for the family and friends she has left behind:(
The news continues to be devastating with the recent taken off hostages in Iraque and the carrying out of their threat. Those poor families, when will it ever end. :( :(

On a lighter note, don't worry I am just like you....well perhaps slightly crazy :D , after having our studs, dd and I felt that everyone was looking at us. I thought that was OK for a young person but this old lady felt distinctly uncomfortable. I am now quite used to it and my dd reminded me this morning of our 'pact' again, I cannot remove it unless I ring her first :D
I must say I can imagine the more straight laced friends of ours will be just shocked, it will just confirm for them that I am a bit crazy :D :D

Slavika it is quite simple how it stays in but there is no backing. The stud's post is a bit this shape ~ and it just sort of hooks in and stays put. I cannot really take it out for a few weeks but when I do, I will take a photo and show you.
We received a leaflet as how to take care of our piercing, in the leaflet are descriptions of all the different types of piercings and how to take care of them : :o
The girl who did the piercing was covered in tattoes  but was just the nicest chattiest girl. She thought I was very cool
She showed us a photo of her dh, he is an accountant and just the most unlikeliest person to be her husband!

I have also been wondering what Peggy has been up to, has her house been sold...has she moved...is she well.......

Well done on another loss.
I jumped.....well I tentatively stepped on the scales this morning ;) and I am happy to say I did not put on any weight whilst I was away.
I was careful but I felt perhaps I was not quite careful enough so it was good to see I have remained the same, it gives me great encouragement.
DD really noticed my weight loss :)

Off to do some more tidying.

Cheers,
Maria

Hi Everyone: Guess I've been sort of MIA for a few days. We did enjoy a lovely weekend, but on Monday had a sad afternoon, as we had the Memorial service for our English friend who passed on this late spring. His wife is back with daughter and son-in-law. It was a nice service, but also sad.

Glenda: You'll find that with retirement, you will probably be just as busy as before, but doing all the things you never had time to do before.

Karen: Being nice and relaxed and well is a good thing. You don't have to start WW work right away. Give yourself some time to see if you really miss it. We have to get together soon. Now that it seems that the hurricanes have slowed down a bit, it might be possible.

Slavika: congrats on the weight loss. I can just see you in coconuts, like billis wore in the movie 'South Pacific'. You'd have to have a grass skirt too. :D: :D: :D:

Maria: Good job staying the same. DH and I have been working on getting rid of a few extra lbs. But of course he is losing faster than me. Makes me  but what can I do. You are very adventurous to have a nose stud. Not for me, nor tatoos either. I'm just an old-fashioned gal. ;)

Trudy: Glad you are back. Computers sure can be a hassle sometimes. But getting to see your  isn't all bad either. Hope your back is better. My DH is having problems, and it affects his left hip. It really has been painful. He went for an epidural a couple of weeks ago, and then has taken two courses of a steroid, and he doesn't seem to feel that they all did much good. He is going back to the Neurologist on Monday so hope he will get some relief. He is taking Aleve and hope that will help some.

Lily: Are you still working for WW? Sounds like you appreciated the 'Passion' It is a difficult film to watch, but I think everyone should see it. We sing songs about the blood of Jesus in church, and since seeing the Passion, I can never sing them the same way. They have a new meaning now. Mel did do a great job with a difficult subject. It made me realize that no one other than Jesus could have gone through the pain and suffering. Those thieves didn't, and He did it for everyone - not just the good but also the bad. I think that there was also a lot of symbolism in the film. Especially Satan hovering around all the time. There were places when it was difficult to watch, but I think Gibson always put in some other scene just about the time you thought you had to close your eyes. So those of you who haven't seen it yet, give it a try. I think you will appreciate Jesus even more.

I made the Angel Macaroon cookies this week. They are very good. I made thim a little bigger than I should have, so didn't get the 6 doz. the recipe calls for. So guess that they would be about 1.5 points per. I took them to the Memorial Service reception, and they were gone fast. Next time I'll make them a little smaller.

Tonight we are going out to celebrate the 5th anniversary of my 25th birthday. I'll let you figure out that one. I have to watch what I eat, even at a celebration. I don't want to get back any of the 3# gone in the past weeks.

Our chorus starts up Oct. 4th. our ladies Bible study starts the same week. And now I am leading the choir for the Christmas special at church, since our interim Worship leader doesn't know anything about that sort of stuff. So there is lots going on.

Peggy: Since we haven't heard from you in a while, I hope that means that you have sold your house and are moving.

I will manage to get back here to keep abreast of what everyone is doing.

Just pray that Hurricane Jeanne stays out at sea. They are now saying things I don't want to hear. Take care all. Ann

Hi Everybody :)

Happy Birthday Ann :gift: :balloons: :lucky:
LOL LOL, I have decided that with that explanation that you gave us you are between 25 years and 125 years.......close enough. I wish you good health, no more hurricanes this year, and a peaceful, fun filled year! Enjoy your birthday.

This morning for a change I didn't wake up with a sinus headache :) :cheer: so I was able to walk on my :tread: treadmill without feeling like my poor head was going to fall right off.

Talk to you all later.

G'day all,

Firstly 'Happy Birthday' Ann :joker: :hb: :gift:
I am as clever as Slavika ;) and also worked out you are celebrating your 125th birthday....but you look so young :D ;) :?:
Very mixed reaction of my nose stud, most think I am crazy but like it! I am still tempted to take it out.
Ann I hate tats and I hate most body piercings but I have always just fancied a tiny little diamond in my nose, don't ask me why!
Was that the english friend who was 'forced' to return to England because of her illness? Very sad.
Certainly hope hurricane Jeanne peters out by the time it gets to shore.

Weather patterns are just very odd....we have already had quite a few very warm spring days, whilst I am looking forward to summer I hope that is not an indication that we are in for a very hot summer.
We have also had a lot more rain than usual. That has been a good thing, our state is the driest state in Australia, everything is looking lovely and green.

Some good news, ds and his wife are expecting their first baby. They have not told anyone other than the parents, they want to wait till she is 3 months before announcing it to the world.
I have bought them a very informative book called 'Birth -conceiving, nurturing and giving birth to your baby'. It is excellent.
They are coming for dinner tonight so I will give it to them then.

Heaps to do, never seem to catch up these days :dizzy:

Hope everyone is well and happy,

Cheers
Maria

Ann good to see you agaiin. And happy happy birthday. Yes I hope Jeanne peters out before land fall but the weatherman doesn't think she will.

Did I tell you all that theses hurricanes have been named for family members. DH's sister is Frances, Her dh is Charley . Now we have DH's other sister who is Jeanne and out in the ocean is Lisa and that is our DD. I called her yesterday to tell her to stay unorganized.

My Grandsons class back in Minnesota has written us letters asking about the storms and how we handled them. These are 7 year old's. some of the letters were just too funny. But they were very conserned for our safety. Some of the questions were: Did your roof come out? Where did we go during the storms. Most were just conserned about damage to our house. All very cute well written just the phrasing's of some were funny. I have now written back to them. Turns out that the teacher is one of my former members.

My news is that I weighed in -2.8 pounds! So all this hurricane running has been good for the waist line.

Have to go

Karen

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANN :hb: :gift: :balloons: :grouphug: I hope you have a great day... imagine that, celebrating 125 years..
Here's hoping that Hurricane Jeanne misses you and Karen. I think the whole world is having strange weather. I just heard on the news, that Hurricane Ivan is still a problem. Apparently, after it went through Newfoundland (causing a lot of problems as a storm), it broke in 2 parts and is heading back to the US... Ivan The Terrible is a good name for it.
Glenda my DH took early retirement 11 years ago, and he always remarks that he doesn't know how he had time to have a full time job. We always have things to do, places to go and things to see. You just have so much time to do all this things you would try and squeeze in at night time or on the weekends.
Maria this is so exciting, you are going to be a Grandmother. I hope everything goes well for the expectant mother. Enjoy!! You will be one Feisty Grandmother with a diamond nose stud.. good for you. I don't think I could stand having one on my nose, it seems to be so sensitive... did it hurt when it was pierced?
The news in Iraq is just horrible. When will it ever end?
I watched Oprah today and she had a young woman who was held hostage with her two children in the Russian school. What a horror that was too.

I saw the allergist on Tuesday and I tested positive for weeds, trees and mold.. no wonder I have had such a uncomfortable spring, summer and looks like things won't change in the fall either. Next Tuesday I go back, with everying I put on my face and hands for the Patch Test.

My back is still sore. I think that the problem is where I have my Osteoporosis, low back. I have no idea why it is so bad, inflamation? injury? ... just have to wait until I can see the doctor. I could go to a walk-in-clinic or to the emergency at the hospital, but my doctor knows my problems. So meanwhile, I just complain a lot...

See you tomorrow Slavika.. we are going to Costco.

Bye bye... :kickcan:

Trudy, I am right with you regarding Iraq (where will it end and will it....EVER?) and the attack on the Russian theater. I don't understand how anybody could do these awful things to other living things, especially children. And what is the purpose? Do they really think we will look favorably on anybody who is capable of such atrocities? I read an account, shouldn't have, about Ivan in Haiti and just felt such incredible sadness at all the death and destruction and now illness from dead bodies. When I read about kids and tragedies, I just immediately put Austin or Makenzie's face on them. Need to stop thinking--just so emotional in my old age, I guess.

Everybody is doing so well with their weight. YEA! I just fight the battle daily, but the walking sure has helped. I am up to an average of 12,000 steps a day.

Maria - you are going to be one sexy grandma, skinny and with a nose ring. Just wait, you don't believe how this will change your life. My son had a book that described fully how the baby developed, so he knew when the fingers got fingernails, and when this happened and that. Kept him busy and very involved.

Just hope this new storm doesn't hit anything. Do any of you ever remember such a year? Karen, the kids' letters sound darling. Yeah on the weight loss, but what a way to do it. Strange about the names.

Just a quickie. We will once again be leaving for the shelter at our church after supper tonight. Our county is one of the ones that might be getting very high winds. Can you believe it - 4 hurricanes in about 6 weeks. they say that last time this happened was in the 1800's. Are we lucky or what? :yikes:

Karen: Hope you will be okay. We will get together one of these days. You should be having minimal problems, unless this fickle Jeanne changes her mind again. I just hope she would keep going north and out to sea, but it doesn't look that way.

have a great weekend everyone, and say a prayer for us in the shelter. We are getting packed up now. At least we have a better idea of what to bring. Will be back to post when we get back and hope that we will have power. 4 days was long time for us, but I know there are many more who still are without up in the panhandle, so I can't complain at all. 'See' you. Ann

Hi Everybody :)

I can't believe that Florida is in for yet another hurricane. :( Ann I am happy that you posted and let us know that once again you will be heading for the shelter where we know you, DH and "poochie" will be safe. I pray that this time the hurricane just passes you by. Thinking about you too, Karen and hope you will be somewhere safe.

Ok, Peggy now I am getting worried about you. Maybe you are just having computer trouble. I hope we hear from you in the next day or two.

Maria what wonderful news you had to share with us. You are going to be so excited when that little one arrives and you will love that baby more than you ever thought possible. You and DH are in for a GRAND time. :) :cloud9:

Bye for now............

I just tuned into CNN and took a look at Hurricane Jeanne... what a mess she is making. Glad to read that Ann is safe in the shelter and hope it misses Karen.
It has been a while since we heard from Peggy, I miss her too.
Lily I have had to modify Core... Just can't take the whole wheat and brown rice. It gives me so many digestive problems. So... I am doing core with white rice and pasta and the bread I make. My bread always has a small amount of whole wheat flour in it, maybe 15 - 20%. Just can't take any more than that. It took my body 4 days to cleanse after the last whole wheat pasta meal I had. It was rough.
We baby-sat the whole day yesterday. It was great. Just before they came home, the little  got sick, it looks like she is cutting an eye tooth. Poor baby.
Aren't we having a beautiful weekend Slavika... fabulous weather. It really ticks me off that this is what we should have had for the last 4 months.

Have a great day.... :kickcan: (I love this little guy kicking the can...  when I was small my Dad used to ask me if I spent the day kicking cans because the top of the toes on my shoes were always wearing down..)

Here :) Im sorry it was such a busy weekend.

Do have to say
Fajita's Down fall for me.

Went to Chevy's Yummmmmm. Nuff said :)

Trudy: Im sorry. I love core. I guess you could call me Flex Core. I still count points. Its in-grained me. Sides there were several days I didnt hit my points. I really think the main thing is getting that oil in. Its the fat that keeps us going. If I was you I would just plan for that oil and go from there. I have been adding it to a omellete or a salad dressing. I will have to post my new dressing. Yumm Has mustard,Im in heaven.

Lily the recipies look really good. All Core too. I will use white macaroni though. I think the Core Program is the best thing WW has come up with yet. Thanks for going to all the trouble typing them out. :comp:
I am cooking a small casserole of potaoes, carrots, onion halves, & celery. I sprinkled olive oil and S & P over the top. I will roast them until nicely browned. I must admit it is a challenge for me to use up the oil every day. I am grilling pork chops on the good old George Foreman Grill tonight. :hungry:

bye bye all.. :kickcan:
