Welcome to the Jaded Ladies!

We are a friendly group that shares all the daily aspects of our lives with each other... not just weight loss. Won't you join us? :gossip:

Well, ladies, I didn't make note of who said what from the other thread... so you'll have to excuse me for not doing individuals. I got some cute shoes for fall today to wear with jeans, and some black boots, too. All the new Fall stuff out is just too tempting!!

Now I have to get busy and get some housework done before Neal fires me, lol.

I'll try to make chat....

09-09-2004, 08:20 PM
Well just another day in the neighborhood I guess:

JEN: Sorry to hear about Kitty, my brother had to put his dog down last
month and it was very upsetting..I dont look forward to the day my
puppy gets there, cause he's my baby and I'd really be lost

MINDEE: The Lean cuisines really arent that bad, I like the Santa Fe Chicken,
I also like a few others, and they really arent that bad...The WW meals
are really flavorful too, I like the Fiesta Chicken. BOXERATE sounds cool
Im still waiting for my FIRM tapes to get in, probably next week!!

JANA: I'll have to try the Lean Cuisine pizza, I Love pizza!!

MARTI: Glad to hear that Jhanai likes school and is making friends..and I
totally hear you on the work thing, I do need to chill out and start
slowing down!!

I've been keeping up with the exercise, I'm actually somewhat obsessed, I
have to workout everyday, or it really bothers me!! I also notice that I have a lot more energy these days too, so I feel alot better!!! Today someone I hadnt seen in a bit, who I dont really know, came up to me and complimented I good I was looking...and it really does help to hear that!!!! Well enough about me...hope all of you are doing well and making healthy choices.....check in later

Checking in a bit to see how you all are doing.

Cristi--I will pray that you never have to experience a tornado while you're living in AR!! I bet your yard is looking lovely!! You should see mine....pathetic really. Everything is dried up and shrivelled. I told James that next year I would love to plant some roses alongside my patio. I see the woman across the way from me watering and tending to her BEAUTIFUL roses all the time and I would love to have some myself. And some other flowers.

Jana--I wish I went shopping with you today!! I went to buy some shoes at Walmart and OMG--the whole store is so messed up! They're in the middle of remodeling and some of the aisles are so close can't fit a cart in between! What are they thinking?? I hope it gets moved. Didn't buy any shoes. I really want to buy some new boots! I bet you look cute in your new clothes!

LauraLynn--When did your kids start back to school? My daughter started Tuesday. And so far she's loving it....except the soccer :) Being from Oregon.....rain is what I'm used to, but I still don't like to walk in it. My dogs can't stand it! I practically have to push them out to go!

Julie--How nice to have some one compliment you! And it's so really does keep the motivation going and makes you feel so good.

Been watching Oprah lately.....let me tell you, I love her clothes. I would love to have her fashion designer fit me with some of her outfits! They are so stylish and classy. And they fit her figure so nicely. I really need to update my look. Make myself feel more attractive.

Ok....just browsing through....I'm going to check in later to see if anyone will be at chat....what time will that be??

ok as weird as this sounds where I live is on the tip of tornadoe valley too. Over 4 yrs ago we had a horrible one that took many lives not far from here.
Well snow has come to some areas not far from here,,,and teh way it feels outside its not far from coming right here. Tanner had a game tonight whichI have tosay was brutal,,,so teeth were chattering..a far cry from last week when I broke a sweat breathing.

So we are doing Brandon's dinner out tomorrow, and Saturday after my meeting will have a nice dinner at home. Roast beef, tatters, spag squash, and some other veggies. Ill be making my drumstick dessert,,,
Bought Brandon a cool gift, a wrought iron cd stand shaped like a guitar. And a couple of guitar stands.

I really want a massage for my birthday...I also asked for a bike,,,second hand one that is so I won't feel all that bad if I don't ride it often.

Well I need to get to bed....I have so much to do tomorrow....

09-10-2004, 09:51 AM
Good morning, Ladies!

Let's see who posted since I was here last...

Laura - my Katie says all the boys act like babies ... she's a Senior, lol. Glad to know your sugar level is good. Is your diabetes congenital?

Julie - it's always nice to get a compliment from a friend. Or a perfect stranger, too, lol. There's "NSV" a thread floating around here, and you would be a good one to keep it alive. I like the LC pizzas so much better than WW Smart Ones, but don't eat either one much. Sometimes we buy a "real" pizza and I have 2 slices with a big salad and that takes care of the craving, lol.

Marti - GOOD LUCK TODAY!!!! I'll be thinking of you during your first day in training. Oprah does have some really neat clothes, and a neat budget to buy them with, lol. All that exercise is really paying off for her. Hope your Walmart store cleans up fast so you can check it out! I got my boots and shoes at Walmart- they've got some of the cutest stuff in for Fall!

Angie - Mmmmm Brandon's dinner sounds so good. Is this a mom/son dinner since your birthday is tomorrow? Brandon will surely like his gifts. Hope you get the massage and bike you want.

Cristi - hope your allergies are better. Mine are giving me a terrible time!

Hi Katy, Jen, Shanna, Barb, Mindee, Sue, Susan, Katiecat, Kathy and anyone else I may have missed.

I've got to get the house cleaned today. With having a cold and other stuff (like shopping :D ) to do, I've let it go too long.

Sorry I missed chat last night, but the family wanted me to watch the new show "Joey" with them. I thought it was really cute, and was partial to the Joey Tribianni character on Friends. How YOU doin'????

Gonna surf for a few and then get busy. I'll check back in later....

09-10-2004, 10:10 AM

No time for individuals this morning.....since what I'm wearing doesn't thrill me!! Feel like the first day of school!!

Only an orientation day but I still feel all nervous!! Gotta find a parking spot!! :dizzy:

I will check back later tonight!!

Break a Leg Marti!

Jana, actually Brandon's dinner is tonight, and we are going to Tony Roma's steak and rib place...theres got to be some in the states. Then mine is tomorrow,,,Iv always had the fall dinner,,,with every type of veggie on the table,,,which I love,,,mmmm parsnips.

LauraLynn, I am 3 hours away from Edmonton, I used to be closer then about three years ago we moved south 1.5 hrs. I have been to that mall many times,,,its unbelievable. They have a hotel called Fantasy Hotel and you ca choose a theme room,,,we stayed in the Polinesion Room,,,had a waterfall /hot tub in it. The kids have gotswimming in the park for hours,,,it has everything in there,,,its like a beach.
Then the Oilers (hockey) sometimes do warm ups on the rink...pretty cool. They there is an amusement park also. ITs insane how big it is.
I have to do the finishing touches in Tans room, make the dessert for tomorrow, shop for my veggies, clean...arghhh I need another
Tanner went out the door this mornng so cranky,,,the football is too much for him and he is exhausted. Am I being too hard ? I refuse to write a note to say why he didnt' finish his homework,,,he was fighting with Brandon about being too loud,,,which he really wasn't.
well better getmyself going

Hi Ladies~

Not much going on-as usual...

Marti~if and when you plant roses I would suggest the carefree ones. Don't have to do much to them at all. We planted some in the front and they were just tiny little bushes and you should see them now-WOW! And I love that the roses just keep blooming and blooming and blooming...from spring to fall. I have feed them twice and watered them a lot in the beginning but once they are established you don't have to water as much. I do maybe once a week. Getting ready to trim them and the bushes are out of control and they line the walk going to the door. Oh, I don't live in AR, I was meaning when I did live there off and on from birth to 18 and then a couple of years later on.My dad couldn't make up his mind where he wanted to live so we were back and forth from AR to CA. The 3 girls were born in AR and the 3 boys in CA. It isn't part of tornado alley but they have their share of tornados. As a matter of fact a couple of years ago, maybe three, can't remember exactly, but one did go through the town my family lives in. Scared the crap out of them but they were fine. No one was hurt (my family), there were people that were hurt and died. My dad had a little damage done to his house, it went straight down the middle of the town and did quite a bit of damage so they were lucky. Good luck with orientation today-breeeeath. I always get nervous to but I know you will be fine.

Jana~feeling a little better but I want to scratch my eyes out! They are itching so bad and watering like crazy. I did get some eyedrops for allergies and it helps for about 5 mns. Hope you get your house clean. I need to get my done but just not feeling up to it. Not like anyone is going to come over anyway. Sounds like you had a great shopping day.

Angie~hope you get all you want for your BD. V got me a gift certificate for a massage for mine and I have yet to use it. Didn't really want one even though I have said I do. What I meant was I would like to go to like a day spa and get the works not to a salon for a few mns. Jeez, I am picky aren't I? LOL We don't have Tony Romas here but I do remember them in CA, they have the best ribs! :T

Hi to everyone else!

Had to take DS to the doc this morning finally for his finger finally. It is healing fine but he does want a specialist to look at it. I had called the specialist and was told they couldn't see him till end of Oct. so thought I would take him to his primary physician and see what he had to say. He thinks it is okay but just in case...the break is a little close to the tendon and he wants to make sure it is fine. But otherwise it is healing nicely. So they made an appt. with the specialist for next week-same dr that the girl told me "The problem with that is the doc is scheduled till Oct." ummm, okay. Then off to the scrapbook store. I get the majority of my stickers there and needed some to dress up the envelopes for the cards I send. got some Subway for a very early lunch and think I will go to Michaels as soon as I get off the computer. Didn't really find what I was looking for and I know Michaels has some different ones. I guess I just don't want to sit home today. Should be cleaning house but there is always tomorrow. Anyway, take care all.

Hope everyone has a great Friday!

09-10-2004, 10:29 PM
I won't be checking in til after breakfast tomorrow... so...

Happy Birthday, Angie!!

:balloons: :cp: :gift:  :gift: :cp: :balloons:

Hope you have a wonderful day with your family!!

Marti - how'd things go today? Do you think you'll like it, or is it too soon to tell?

Cristi - good idea to get the finger checked out to the max since this was an on-the-job accident, even if his bonehead boss thinks he isn't liable. I like to shop for the same things you do... I think it would be fun to go shopping with you some day.

Laura - wow, how much fun is it to be in a band? Obviously when you have a CD for sale, I'll buy one. When you get famous, I'll be able to say I knew you when. You're doing great with the diet and exercise! You'll be below the 250 mark before you know it!

Hi to the ones who haven't checked in since I was here last....

Well, I got the house cleaned, and Neal even washed the kitchen windows that I never got done. They are oversized and hard to manage, so I'm thankful he did them. I put out my Fall decorations and it all looks nice.

Two of my sisters are coming out for coffee in the morning, and the 3rd one will be here sometime tomorrow. The 4th lives out of town, so boo hoo, I won't get to see her!

09-10-2004, 11:27 PM
Hello gals....

No time for individuals today but will try to catch up tomorrow. Orientation was LONG! Butt fell asleep! :D People were friendly, only four girls total (me included) that was there. My position is pretty much the center of everything....who knew? I have more responsibility than I thought (You mean I can't just stand there looking cute?!) :dizzy:

Half a day of orientation Monday, then off to work right afterwards! Parking is a nightmare! I have no idea where I'm going to park on Monday or anytime afterwards...but hey....I'll figure something out.

Met the CEO of the company...used to play the drums for the band "Turtles" anyone hear of them? Does not look the part of someone in a band...but very nice guy!

Ok...dinner is in the oven and I have to go tend to it. You all have a great night and I will check in tomorrow!!

Hope you have a nice one hon and a good weekend.

09-11-2004, 12:40 AM
Marti - I have the Turtles' 45 "Happy Together" ... they totally rocked!! (for those too young to remember, a 45 is a 7 inch record with two sides) They were big in the 60's!! Later, a band called Simple Plan covered the song...

09-11-2004, 01:46 AM
Hey Jana.....I don't think the guy was actually part of the band...he just played for them a few times. At least that is how I heard it.....not sure. When I met him....I just couldn't picture it at all! And I LOVE that song!!! I've had 45's too....but only a couple of them.

Ok....back tomorrow...I'm already being hollered at by Jhanai! :D

Night all!

09-11-2004, 02:17 AM
I took the garbage out Wednesday and got an eye opener! I came back in the house and went to the bathroom. While I was there, I started to brush my hair, then I noticed something crawling up my sweater. It was a bee or a yellow jacket! Since my hubby is allergic to bees, the first thing that popped into my head was not to let Brandon get stung since we don’t know if he is allergic and I wasn’t about to find out. So I scooped it up with my brush and it was still crawling around. So I threw my brush and the bee into our bath tub, and closed the door. I finished my business and then checked to see if the bee was still in there, it was and wasn’t making any attempts to fly away either. So I turned on the hot water and let it run for a little bit. I made sure it was dead and then flushed it down the toilet!

Marti~ You guys are right, we had the right kind of mood for that night. Now……well that is another story. You know I have seen commercials for Windsor Pilates and I have been wanting to try it, but it all looks like it would kill my leg that has the screw in it. Have you seen them? What do you think?

Cristi~ Like I said, that worked for the time being. Who knows what will happen next? Does anyone honestly like their in-laws? I despise my MIL and she contradicts everything I do in caring for Brandon. So needless to say, she was our latest fight. It doesn’t help that I don’t seem to get any support on things from my hubby. But enough about that.

Julie~ I might have to check those out to see how they taste. I might try the Sante Fe chicken one first. I might have to look into getting some of the WW meals for my lunches. Since I usually don’t get to eat much for lunch.

Angie~ snow?? Already??? Holy cow that means that winter is drawing closer! It was colder last night then any of the past nights.

Ladies…..I need some MAJOR motivation! Things have been rocky with my hubby, and I am afraid that I used food as a partial comfort. I am going to finish checking my email and then hop my happy little butt on my exercise bike and do some exercise until I can’t stand it. I have missed the past two days of exercising and I can feel myself going outward in size, rather then in ward. Can I throw this body away and get another one??

Marti~ I think I remember hearing something about the band “turtles” but I don’t remember what I heard and when.

09-11-2004, 03:51 AM
Here I am again....with a moment to spare....just wanted to sing an early song----

Hope you two have a wonderful day tomorrow with your family and get pampered like silly!!!

09-11-2004, 05:51 AM
happy birthday ladies!!!!

09-11-2004, 12:14 PM
Marti - Thank you so much for the birthday song and smilies!! I'm glad the people at your new job were friendly. You have the type of personality to fit in nicely. Bet you'll be happy to get orientation out of the way.

Mindee - thanks for the birthday wishes!

My sisters came early for coffee (no doughnuts this year!) and we had a good time talking and laughing about the old days. Mary and her family and DS and his family will be here for dinner and we'll all have a good time, I know. Neal and I are going to town in just a little bit, but I wanted to check in here, first.

I lost another 1 1/4 pounds this week, and am closing in fast on 70.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend! TTFN,

09-11-2004, 12:18 PM
First off ditto what Marti said (BD song). Jana and Angie, hope you ladies have a GREAT day!

:hb: :gift: :hat:  :dancer: :balloons:  :hat: :gift: :hb:

Wishing you a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jana & Angie!

So what do you ladies have planned for your special day? Details, we want details! :D

Mindee~OMG! I would have died! I am not allergic to bees/wasps but DO NOT like them at all. I just found a next yesterday under our deck filled with wasps. Now I need to get DH or DS to get out there and get rid of them. We are having a bad problem with grasshoppers this year, and they are having a field day eating the leaves on the trees and shrubs. Like you , I too need some motivation. I am going to reread Dr. Phil and see if that helps. I do good for a while and then slack off and get in a slump-not good if I want to get this weight off. About in-laws-I can't say if I like them or not as I never really had the opportunity to get to know them. I went to a couple of gatherings and they were snotty, or some of them and then some things happened and the rest is history. Not really sure what happened but they really didn't like the fact that DH married someone with kids I guess. He has a busy body Aunt that has her nose in everyone's business and my business is my business and she didn't like that. Apparently everyone does what the woman says. I really don't want to get started with that because it is the dumbest stuff in the world-the reason they don't talk to us. But to give you an example: his cousin came over to our house one day and visited which was fine. But month's later her story is she thought it was odd that we didn't invite her to sit down. Ummm, okay. First we didn't even invite her over and didn't have a problem with her just dropping by so didn't really think that we needed to invite her to sit down. Figured if she wanted to sit down she would, her kids did. But it is stupid stuff like that they they are mad about. Of course it probably didn't help that I told them they are acting like a bunch of kids and need to grow up. Sorry, but I just thought that was the dumbest thing ever. DH took up for us and they are mad at him so it is their loss not ours which is sad because it is actually our loss also. The loss of being a part of a big family.

Jana~what was funny was the doc was giving son a sermon if you will about his boss and what he is doing is illegal. He also told him that regardless of what the boss thinks says or does, KS law states if you get a paycheck from this guy the guy is liable. "I can't see me lovin' no body but you for all my life, when you're with me baby the skies will be blue for all my life..."am I thinking of the right song? If so I love that song. I was wondering when to put the fall stuff out. DD thought I was nuts when I asked when is the official first day of fall. For some reason I was thinking it was too early but brought in the summer flag and wreath. I used to do the inside but don't anymore. Just change the flag and wreath to the different seasons. Do you decorate both inside and out? Of course for Christmas I do.

Marti~orientation sounded very hectic, or maybe it was just the parking?! I think that is the worst part of any job, trying to find parking. Sometimes it is better to be dropped off and picked up. I worked at Timex years ago and did that. Otherwise I had to get to work 30mns. sooner just to walk from the back parking lot to where I had to go to work, it was like a maze once you got inside. But only because they were doing construction. Now if I had wanted a close parking I could have gotten there a hour earlier and just sat in the car but who wanted to do that? Not me! LOL Anyway, if will be fine once you get used to it I am sure.

Laura~I too was thinking how cool it would be to be in a band. It must be a lot of fun, although hard work. DH#1 was in a band years ago, played the guitar. Never made if big, just played gigs at bars, clubs and such.

Miss Susan~what's up with you girly? How are the kids liking school? They did start last week right? I can't keep up sometimes.

Hi to everyone else!

Not much on the agenda this weekend. I am definitely going to try and get some scrapbooking done. Went and washed my car this morning even though it is cloudy. Didn't see anything about rain in the forecast. Doesn't matter though as I park in the garage anyway so...have a little bit of ironin gto get done also, only about 5 shirts. I try not to buy or wear a lot of stuff that needs ironing because I absolutely hate doing it, just doesn't work though. Other than that nothing much going on. The fair started yesterday and think V and I are going to go next week sometime. Not sure what day. Didn't really want to go because of these allergies but then read that they changed a lot of things and it is supposed to be better so we will see. Hope everyone has a GREAT day and weekend. TTFN :sunny:

Edited: Jana, guess you were posting as I was writing this book. CONGRAT'S on the loss! :bravo: And enjoy your special day! :hb:

09-11-2004, 02:11 PM
Good morning ladies--

Did the WI this morning and it's down a pound! :goodscale

First off...once again Happy Birthday Jana & Angie!

Hope you to are getting spoiled!!

"Imagine you and me, and me and matter how you toss the dice, it had to be...the only one for me is you, and you for Happy Together"

Are those the correct lyrics to that song????

Jana--I have to say about Orientation that the girls were all friendly. We had to learn to use thier phone system and since I'll be using the phone the most the woman training (we had many different people training us) told me to pick up the phone and page her. So I did....she said I did a great job and I looked at everyone and said excitedly "Did you all hear me out in the hall???" I didn't realize that I was actually paging her for real! I was myself and I believe they all realized that I have a sense of humor...but a playful kind.

Cristi--Now...why did I think you lived in AR?? You live in KS right? Silly's the weather there? Parking....oh my....let me see...for one the little parking lot they have for the building is for the Carriers and customers and maybe 10 spots available....inside is another small area but it's metered and you can park for 2hrs. The rest of the parking is across the street in some lot, down a few blocks in another's awful! At least w/Sony's building.....there is a huge parking lot! I don't mind walking to get to's leaving at 2:30 in the morning to get to my car that has me feeling ill......but I guess they have security who will escort you to you car if needed.

Laura--Do you sing in the band?? How fun. Shanna's man used to be in aband....although I didn't know him back in the day.....but I always thought it would be fun. Not like I can see OR play an instrument! Right now I have a friend who plays the bass and plays gigs.....not sure what music they play but he's always busy!

Mindee--Windsor Pilates.....well I haven't tried that at all...but the two that I have...I would think that it should be ok for you...but then I'm not sure how flexible your one leg would you know of anyone who has a tape you can borrow? Or maybe rent one at the video check it out?

Angie--Hope you're getting pampered and are not hiding in the bushes watching someone, not dressing someone up for a play, not yelling at the coaches at your sons practices, not serving beer on YOUR day......just plain relaxing!! :D Happy Birthday!

Ok...I hope I didn't miss anyone....this was to be short but I got carried away and now I hear my name being called. Did you all know my name was Momma?? :D

Talk to you later

09-11-2004, 03:04 PM
If I should call you up invest a dime
and you say you belong to me
and ease my mind
imagine how the world could be
so very fine
so happy together

{refrain} I can't see me loving nobody but you for all my life when you're with me baby the skies will be blue for all my life
me and you
and you and me
no matter ...that's the song I was thinking of marti-just went straight to the refrain because that is always what comes up first in my mind. lol love that song

congrats on your loss and i hope you will be very happy at your job you sound so very excited and busy

just dropping by for a few minutes to see whats going on with everyone before i get off the puter

take care all toodles

09-11-2004, 10:40 PM
Happy Birthday Jana and Angie :)

09-12-2004, 12:47 AM
Hiya - Neal is in the shower, so I only have a minute......

Cristi - thank you for the e-card! It was really sweet, and I look forward to the snail mail one you sent. Yes, it is a little early to put out the Fall decorations, but I knew I'd be getting a lot of company today and wanted things to look nice. I'm sure I'll get very tired of it all before it's time to put the Christmas things up, lol. All I do for Fall outside is put a garland of leaves around the front door. It draws hummingbirds...

Marti - YAY for you and the 1 pound down!!! I suspect you will lose easier once you begin working, don't you think so? Yep, you and Cristi have the right song! The lyrics are sweet. About your parking situation, I hope you will be sure and ask the security guards to walk you to your car. All the JLs would rest easier knowing that you are safe.

Susan - thank you for the birthday wishes! I sure do miss hearing about our little Gabster!

Katy - how're you doing with the PDA?

I've had the most wonderful day, and stayed OP! Neal and Katie did a good job with the dinner. And tomorrow is our wedding anniversary, so that's something else to look forward to. I think we're going to Evansville to eat and to stop in at a bookstore, but I'm not sure yet.

Have a blessed Sunday....

09-12-2004, 01:12 AM
Evening ladies~

Jana~glad you had a nice birthday and stayed OP! And I hope you and Neal have a wonderful anniversary tomorrow. Oh, I don't think it is too early for fall stuff. I was debating because I was just going to decorate for fall and not halloween and then thanksgiving but now I am having a change of heart. Since I know we will have kids this Halloween.

Well, hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. No special plans for me tomorrow. Going to go to mass and that's about it I think. Not real sure. But since I won't be on the computer tomorrow I will send wishes now.

:hat: :balloons: :bubbles:  HAPPY ANNIVERSARY JANA & NEAL!!! :bubbles: :balloons: :hat:

09-12-2004, 10:07 AM
Happy Birthday Jana and Angie

Happy Anniversary, Jana and Neal !

Hey, I'm not the only one who got married the day after her birthday! (my combo is june 15/16)

Jana - the PDA is saving my life! I already stopped myself from over booking on two occasions 'cause I had that little sucker....I used be kind of snotty about those things as I prided myself on having a laidback, no stress kind of life. No cell, no pda.... life was good. Within the last year,it has all changed. I blame those pesky children, lol! you know the ones I worship and adore and chauffer hither and yon?

Marti- hope you got to celebrate your first day a I mentioned in chat the other night, this sounds like a job that could be pretty interesting - not your average cube farm gig. You've had some pretty interesting work over the years, so now you are starting a new chapter.

Hello to Cristi, Susan, Laura, Jen, Julie, Mindee, Shanna.. and anyone else I may miss. Congrats to Jana and Marti for their losses,
I was doing well this week, but have strayed off plan in the last day or two due to TOM and my DH's birthday. His birthday is today, but we had a celebration at my inlaws last night and i indulged. So for now, the scale is holding steady, but official WI is tomorrow, maybe I can rustle up some will power today. We are having his birthday dinner at a great Mexican restaurant, so I am going to have to have a game plan going in, maybe tamales? Do you think their Core, Jana? I may have to stick to a tostada minus the chips. Ugh - I have been craving sugar like crazy this week.

Will try to check back in to chat with more individuals later

Marti~guess you were getting me mixed up with Kayecee??? :dunno: Or maybe because I talk about AR often. The weather here has been great. Yesterday was real nice. I had the air set on 75 and it didn't come on much at all. It's not coming on much at all at night which is good. I love the cool fall weather. Although, it is supposed to warm up and be in the low 90's this week which it always does when the fair comes to town. I think we are going to pass on it this year. I do remember having the allergies last year also and it being hot and just not sure I want to do it this year. Glad orientation went well and everyone was nice. And yes, I do hope you have security walk with you to your car, that would be a little creepy for me especially if people weren't around.

Okay, didn't think I would be getting on the computer this morning. Didn't have anything to do while waiting for V to get home from work. At least today he is only working till 1:30. Didn't make it to mass. Just didn't feel like going with these darn allergies. I thought it was getting better but woke up gagging from my sinuses draining-gross! And my eyes are just so raw from rubbing them and watering like crazy. Oh well, life goes on...Anyway, headed out to Home Depot later to get some bark that we forgot to get when we bought the trees. Also, some wasp spray to get rid of that nasty nest under the deck. I told V when he gets ready to do that I will be no where around. I have hated wasps and bees since bing little and my sister threw a brick in some honeysuckle-ummm, I told her not to do it,we all did. She didn't listen and was stung from her head to her feet. I kid you not. My grandma fixed up her remedy and put it on her-she looked funny-was spotted all over. Not to mention the many times I have been stung. Ah, heck who am I kidding I DON'T like any kind of insects. Anyhoo...take care ladies and have a wonderful Sunday! :sunny:

Morning again....actually it's almost noon!

Ok time for some individuals......

Cristi--You know...I have that song stuck in my head! :) But it's a song I don't mind having in my head for awhile! My family on the other hand....they may kick me out for whistling and humming it all day! You know, James & I took Jhanai up to Eugene yesterday and we drove by some of the area's we are able to park.....some are blocks away! I hate knowing I have to spend money to park for work! Frustrating...but the good news is....I do work the evening shift, and so the parking meters (some which are right in front of the building) are free after 6pm. So HOPEFULLY...I can get one of those!! I can't wait to see your yard when it's all finished. Maybe you can send your family to my home next Spring to do my yard!! That would be great......I'll even try to pitch in myself! :) Ok.....since that can't happen, I will see what I can do myself this Spring. I will have to check into those Roses you talked about.

Jana--OML has their own little gym! That was pretty cool to hear. I believe it's only $98 a year to I may just do that, and I even asked if they plan on keeping the Sony gym for when they move---and they are. So I'm really hoping that losing will be easier once I get moving and working again. Which brings a smile to my face! :smug: but it IS MY OWN FAULT for letting myself go after Sony closed. I could have done anything to keep myself moving and to maitain the weight I had already lost. Makes me wonder why I do that.

Katy--You are so right about the variety of jobs I've had.....lets see...Croissant factory (boy did that smell ever so good!!! And that was when I was my thinnest working there....110lbs.of coarse I was only 18 when I started....) worked there for 4yrs off and on. Then it was at a Casino for a few months (that was EXCITING! and I was always escorted back to my place of work which was a hamburger joint because I was under age  ) I worked at the college library for a year( a work study job) and then Foster Farms for 3yrs....( smelly but very interesting all the same) then Sony (clean, easy and lots of days off) worked there for 3 1/2 yrs...and now this. Working with human stuff. Ought to be interesting.

Now that you know my work you have a job you want to offer me?? :D

Susan--I sure hope you get Gaby back soon to cuddle up with and to chat toddler chat. I'm sorry you're feeling down.....I hope things start to getting better for you. Sending you lots of hugs!! ((((((HUGS)))))) Congratulations on being 142!! I hope to see that soon.

Shanna--Ok....I haven't seen you post yet this weekend, but wanted to tell ya to get ahold of me next weekend for the some crafting.....Holidays are almost here and it would be fun to have someone to do some of the gift making this year.

Hello to everyone else!

Ok.....I'm off to tackle what I call my hair. This morning I looked like Medusa!! And if I want a hug or kiss without the look of horror on either James or Jhanai's face...then I better get to it.

Take Care and I'll check in later

09-12-2004, 05:41 PM
Gaby should be home in 52 minutes, not that I am counting.........

I feel horrible - Marti- maybe it is my diet? Maybe I am burning out? maybe , maybe, maybe..........who knows.

Something is wrong though- I deal better with Monday thru Friday when I stay busy........weekends are torture..........

09-12-2004, 07:30 PM
Well, let me catch up here....

Jana, happy anniversiary as well!!!!!

My weekend has been totally nuts, so I havent been anywhere near the computer to check in with you all.... I had my friends two little boys overnight again yesterday, so that kept me busy and then I had tons of errans to do today.....I just blew it tonight..I got Burger King for supper cause we were out and it was getting to late to come home and cook supper!! ALSO.....another upset today, after all of my working out I have gained 1 lb.....SIGH:( , NOT HAPPY... I just cant understand it, I workes out so hard last week, but Im wondering if I gained muscle??? Oh well, it was still upsetting to see the scale change in the opposite direction>>>

MARTI: Good Luck on the Job tomorrow!!!! You'll be great!!!

MINDEE: The WW meals and Lean cusine are really good for any meal, cause you can get a well balanced portion on the go!!! I really love em!!

Well Katy, Laura, Susan, Shanna, Cristi, Jen, and anyone whom I missed, wish you all a good week!!!! And I'll check in later

Hello ladies… are you all doing?

Nothing new here, same stuff different day.

Well, Brandon went to a baby sitter for the first time last night! He was great for them! Me and Tommy on the other hand, only called once to see how he was doing and then left at around 11 or so to go get him! He got to try applesauce for the first time last night…..and did not like it one bit. He also showed us something new that he knows how to do. He can move his walker backwards but only on tile! There are pictures on his webpage!

Well, my MIL is a big PITA! Last night we went to my hubby’s cousin’s wedding reception. We sat at the table with my hubby’s siblings and their dates. My MIL said two things to me all night. The first thing she said to me was “how is the baby doing?” Not how is Brandon doing, but how is the baby doing. I said he is doing fine. And that was it. Later on that night she came up to me and said “Kimmie is dropping me off at your house tomorrow” with a very snotty attitude. Then today when Tommy’s sister brought his mom over here, they got out along with Tommy’s sister’s daughter and came inside. His sister and her daughter didn’t stay long, and when they left his sister told her daughter to give everyone a hug…….EXCEPT me! (I was in the bedroom downloading some pictures off our digital camera.) And then his mom when they were leaving didn’t come in a say bye, she stood at the end of the hallway and said “bye Mindee” again with a snotty attitude. My hubby asked his mom how come I didn’t get invited to the baby shower today. And she goes “I don’t know. Something about something….I didn’t have anything to do with it. I don’t kow.” They left and Tommy brought Brandon into our bedroom cause I was still downloading the pictures and I looked at him and said “now do you believe me?” He goes what do you mean? I said “now do you believe me when I say how vindictive and revengeful she is?” He goes “yes I do.” Then he told me that he asked her why I wasn’t invited to the shower (case in point, a very good friend of ours who is like a mother to Tommy, asked my MIL why I didn’t get invited. So I know that there are people asking about me.) and I said “yeah I heard you.” He told me what she said and I said “I don’t believe one word of it.” He goes “me too.” (which is a first because he is now coming around about how is mom/sister are) He put Brandon on our bed, and he told Brandon that he would teach him to call her grandma short **** because she is short. I looked at Brandon and said “forget about calling her grandma short ****, I will teach you to call her Grandma Dickie.” (Richardine is her real name, and her mom calls her Dickie and she HATES it.)

Jana~ No problem! I will gladly give out wishes when they are needed! You are doing awesome girl! Please give me your secret!!

Cristi~ I guess it was mother’s intuition because I knew that if I freaked out, then he would freak out. So I just stayed calm and then fling it into the bath tub with my brush. I have my share of good days and bad days. I do really well, and then something happens and I end up slacking off. I need to get back to doing better though! She wants to treat my like garbage, I can decide if Brandon sees her or not.

Marti~ My one leg with the screw in it, is flexible. But it doesn’t like to be tested too much. I have had to take a couple days off of exercising because it started to hurt. I just might check out our local video store and see if they have one I can rent.

Julie~ I will have to look at them and pick some up.

Happy belated birthday jana: I am sorry I spaced it, very weird and I have been forgetting alot of things lately. May be the stress I don't know. But I feel really bad for forgetting you. I will try and make it up to you someday hon.
Also Happy anniversary to you and your wonderful hubby Neal.
Well, nothing big happened this weekend. I crafted all day again on saturday in between watching the big Oregon Duck football opener. I am sure the neighbors were wondering what was going on in my house with all the hooting and hollering and such for the game. I really get into it. my boyfriend has season tickets, so he was there while I had to stay home. So I just crafted while I watched, which is why i didn't get as much done as I wanted. Oh well. Also my boyfriend cut his hair off on friday, very dramatic experience for him. I took pictures of the whole thing and we are going to send his ponytail to the Locks of Love thing. I did keep a small strand for a scrapbook page though. hee hee. I just can't stop staring at him, he looks so much better and younger with the hair gone, sooo cute. hee hee. He hates it, but I think he just has to get used to it. Also, he had to admit that he was thinning a bit and he didn't like that either. I told him i loved him with or without hair. But I don't think he believed me. he s[pent the whole rest of friday going it the bathroom and staring at his hair. everytime I needed to know where he went, I just had to look in there. LOL
Anywho, nothing new here with me.
Angie: so glad you can home from your vacation when you did. It is not good to be in Cuba right now. scary.
Everyone else that I missed, susan, jen, katy, marti, etc, etc, etc I hopeyour week goes great and I will check back in tomorrow maybe.
Oh marti: let me know about getting together for crafts or such. hee hee I am always up for that.

09-13-2004, 10:12 AM
Good morning, ladies,

Thank you so much to everyone who sent birthday and anniversary wishes to me (and Neal)!! It really means a lot....

Let's see.... who's been here since I was here last?

Cristi - I also am scared of wasps and things like that... Neal was once stung by a wasp on his eyelid! The whole right side of his face swelled up and his eye was swollen shut for a couple of days. I got rid of my Halloween stuff, and I'm so sorry that I did! But when I started the youth group at church, one of them told me that the Lutherans (I was raised Catholic) don't believe in celebrating Halloween, so I gave it all away. I had some really cute things that would make the DGDs chuckle, not afraid. Oh well.... although we used to get over 100 trick-or-treaters in town, all we get here is the grandkids, lol. I think you'll enjoy having them again. Anyway, for Fall, I ordered several things from Terry's Village that are just too cute!

Katy - I'm not sure which Mexican foods would be Core... the beans, lettuce, tomatoes, salsa probably. Not the tortilla, cheese, meat (not 97% lean), or sour cream. All I know is, one beef soft-shell taco from Taco Bell, with no sc, is 4.5 points! I eat them once in awhile with a "free" salad. I'm embarrassed to ask this, but is a PDA like a Palm Pilot?

Susan - awww, hope you feel happier today. I bet you felt lots better once Gaby got home and got some hugs and kisses from her...

Marti - :crossed: good luck with the 1/2 day orientation and then work today! Hope you're feeling better. Cristi's right - the carefree roses are so nice to have, and they really do bloom from Spring til frost.

Julie - muscle is heavy, that's for sure, and another thing to think of is that while you are building up your muscles, they hold water for cushioning. I was told that by one of the other mods when I first started on the treadmill, and it makes sense.

Mindee - about your in-laws, I sure do understand how you feel.! Although most of my in-laws are really sweeties, I have a few of the nasty ones myself that I've had to deal with over the years and it's been unpleasant. All you have to worry about, though, is the fact that Tommy sees what's going on and will back you, like my Neal did, too.

Shanna - aww, I know you would've sent good wishes my way had you known it was my birthday! I bet your DBF does look better! Men! I think they are secretly more vain than women, lol.

We had a great anniversary! Went to Evansville, and had a good time. I bought some books on CD for when I'm on the treadmill. Cristi - you'd like these... a set of Maeve Binchey books: The Copper Beech, Circle of Friends, and The Glass Lake. Also bought The Christmas Blessing. I have already read all of the Maeve Binchey ones, but will really enjoy hearing them while on the treadmill. The narrator is an Irish woman.. hope I can understand her alright, lol.

Hope everyone has a great Monday!!

Edited to add: Cristi, I just got the anniversary card! The roses and the music are just too beautiful! Thank you so, so much!!

09-13-2004, 10:49 AM
Good morning! I finally made it in here. Things have been so busy lately. Such is life, I guess.

Went out for dinner with a friend from work Friday night. Saturday went out with dbf. Sunday watched football, then my aunt and uncle from Ohio stopped in for the night. They are on their way out west for a 2 month vacation. Wish I was retired! I'm really glad I took today off of work. I really don't have any plans, which is an odd feeling.

Well, I decided to stay with the agency in the position that was "tailor made" for me. Might as well give it a try, and keep all of my benefits and retirement plan the same, if I can. Plus, I know the people, the system, it's just easier.

Well, I should get going for now. I keep thinking of things I should be doing. I must be nuts! :dizzy:

09-13-2004, 03:17 PM
I am sorry I missed the birthdays and anniversary that have been celebrated here. Good wishes to all, even though I am late. Things have been busy here with Mom's visit and our trip to PA for the reunion. We did talk Mom into staying another week so Ivan can get out of the way. Today has been laundry day. Never ending!
I will drop by later for some more talk.

09-13-2004, 04:18 PM
hello ladies....nothing new here!

Jana~ I was almost done with my post and then Brandon hit the close button and it shut down windows that I had open. My SIL Wendy, tommy's oldest brother Al's wife, well she was my MIL, SIL and BIL Tim's first target! Now they have all moved on to me, and I will get the last word...last laugh! They forget how much power I have in both the time they see Brandon and if we stay in contact with them.

09-13-2004, 08:53 PM
Well, I am pretty exhausted tonight myself, so this is gonna be a quick one for me as well!!! I got my FIRM FANNY LIFTER in the mail today with the 3 workout tapes,, let me tell you, I may be paralyzed tomorrow..I thought the stepper I had was high, this thing is like 3 1/2 feet off the ground, when I step up I almost hit the ceiling, I was wiped out after a 1/2 hour of it today...But I think it'll really help me in the butt and thigh area, which is where I need all the help I can get!!!
Did very well, today started really pushing the fruit again, today for breakfast I had applesauce, grapes and a special k bar, lunch = a spinach salad and an apple , dinner = a lean cuisine meal with a salad!!! I m trying to get on a real health kick this week, cant ya tell???
Im trying to take my mind off of being fiance and I have been giving a lot of thought to children lately, and we kind of got news recently that his count was very low, and we may have a difficult time trying to have a child....they think it maybe a testosterone issue, but arent sure if it's correctable or not? Has anyone had any experience with this problem? I really dont know anyone whose had trouble having a child, so Im curious to get some feedback!!!
Well hope all is well with everyone else here, and I'll see ya's later

09-13-2004, 10:12 PM
Just popping in for a minute to say...

Cristi - got the birthday card today. I had no idea Mickey Mouse stamps were available! :D Loved it, and the stickers, too!! Thank you!
Marti - got your card, too, with the sweet message.. thanks so much, Marti!!
Angie - thanks for the postcard from Cuba! The beach looks so invititing!!

09-13-2004, 10:16 PM
Hello everyone.....

This one is going to be short until I get used to working again. I do have a weird shift going on right now...tomorrow I go in at 8:30-5:00 then the next two days it's 10:30-7:00 and then so on until I get to 6-2:30.

I feel tired right now as I'm not much of a morning person. So evening shift sounds great! :) Orientation went pretty good and the little work that I did today was easy. So far so good.

Sorry ladies...but I need to go lay down...big headache!

Promise to do individuals when I get a chance!!

09-13-2004, 10:50 PM
Mickey Mouse stamps?? Would love to see those- love MM

Congrats on the job Marti- don't know if I said that already??

I feel better with Gaby home. Weekends are really hard. Life with her father turned sour and he probably won't see her for awhile. He lied twice over the weekend........makes me want to run away across state lines.....all the way to IN to Ma

My mom wants me to go back to half time and spend more time with Gaby. There is a complex open now that would get me back to where the older girls are and would give me a 3 bedroom- just would be 20 hours though.......

I don't know- feel burned out with all the running around I do.......

better go..........

09-14-2004, 12:28 AM
hey ladies....nothing new here.....

just hopefully finally shaking the last of this cold. we have to run up to my parents house tomorrow. Brandon ran out of formula, and she has about 50 cans that they have been saving for us. So we are going up tomorrow with a buddy of ours. That way they can see him and then the formula will save us some money for at least a little while. We are thinking, well hoping, it will last us about a month and a half to two months.

09-14-2004, 09:10 AM
It's Tuesday!

Marti - hope you have a good day today. Once you get used to working like that, it will be less tiring, don't you think so? I hope you pamper yourself when you get home.

Susan - anytime you can ever get to Indiana, you're more than welcome to stay with me! I would have Gaby spoiled by the time you left, lol. Well, if you can swing it financially, why not go to part-time? And if Gaby's dad is proving to not be trustworthy, then you're right to keep her away from him, imho. Just make sure you document each incident, ok? That could be helpful if you ever need to have a record of his shenanigans.

Mindee - have a good time with your parents today. Is WIC something you would rather not pursue?

Julie - glad you're doing so well with the food and exercise! Yay for you!! I don't know a thing about low testosterone... wish I could help. Maybe some of the others know about it? But science has come a long way, and I bet there are things that can be helpful in a situation like this. I'd talk to my doc if I were you.

Laura - sorry about the gain... was it justified? If not, maybe it's just TOM coming, or you're holding water for another reason. Remember that what you weigh is NOT who you are, ok? But, still, I know how frustrating it is. (((hugs)))

Hi to Cristi, Shanna, Barb, Angie, Jen, Sue, Katiecat, Kathy and all lurkers!

Today I'm going for a mammogram and a blood test for my cholesterol. I haven't had a mammogram for 3 years, and have never had my cholesterol tested. But I decided that I better do some preventive health care. Next week I'm scheduled for a pap smear. Oh joy!

09-14-2004, 09:29 AM
Jana: I will be praying for you today and hope the appointment goes off without a hitch. I will need to get one of those soon. I have a family history of high cholesteral, I just stopped having it check cause I didn't want to go on the meds they wanted me to. Plus I have to go early for the mammogram cause my aunt had breast cancer and my grandmama basically died from it. She had breast cancer first, double masectomy, then she got gall bladder cancer, went diabetic and then she got pancreatic cancer, which has no cure. Plus two of one of my other aunts found lumps, all benign and so did my mom. So I will be thinking of ya today and treat those gals nice when ya get home for the torture they have to put up with today. (((((HUgs))))) to you missy.
Later all the rest, not time for more , got to get home to sleep.:-)

09-14-2004, 10:58 AM
Good morning ladies--

Jana--Oh it should be much easier once I get on my shift. I'm not much of a morning person and the evening shift is perfect. Or at least I hope! Thursday & Friday I won't have to go in until 10:30. Finding a parking spot at that time will be H***! Knowing I'm paying $3.50 to park (a day!) is really getting to me!! Hope your appointments go well today. Never had a mammogram...but almost had to. Found a lump years ago, but they finally determined it wasn't cancerous! My thoughts are with you.

Cristi--What is the difference between carefree roses and others? I was going to ask about that early...and you may have already told me....but I could use a refresher! As for wasp, bee's, & all those stinger bugs...I hate them. When I was in highschool I was helping landscape for a Church group.....we all had Sicles (sp?) to cut down tall and this guy were next to each other yappin when he swung...and I got stung by a bee...right on the lower eye lid. Well he thought he hit me! But couldn't help me since I was running around like an idiot.....eventually HE quit crying after he realized I just got stung. Memories.......

Julie--Burger Kind is evil....and so is McDonalds! Which is where James & I went to the other night......was NOT good. Told James NO MORE FAT FOODS!! (no typo does say FAT) We live just blocks away from Burger King, Carls Jr., McDonalds, KFC....all the bad fast food chains!! As for the testosterone.......haven't had any issues with that....sorry. I hope you two become w/child soon if that is what you're wanting!!

Laura--Don't worry about the pound. Take a look at the foods your eating...maybe your eating a lot of foods that contain lots of sodium? When I can almost see my face and body swelling! And it does make a difference on the scale. You'll be fine!! Don't worry.

Mindee--In-laws.....I never had any issues with my IL's. Maybe some before my ex and I got married....and that's a long story. Very messed up. But once I got married they were sweet...and even better when I left! :)

Jen--Sounds like you made the right choice about work. I'm glad you did what you felt was best!

Susan--Oh I hope you start to feeling better. Would part time be doable for you? I hate to hear that your missing your babies so much. Someday soon Shanna and I will have to visit Portland and go have coffee with you. Do some girl chat!

Shanna--You need medication for your cholesterol and don't take it???? You better be doing what you should be doing.....that's not something to take lightly. So get your butt back in and have it checked and if you need meds.....then you ought to take them.

Morning to the rest...hope I didn't miss anyone....I need to get ready for I will check in later!

09-14-2004, 11:53 AM
Since this is post #49, I know that it will probably be one of the last ones...

:cb: :cp: :hb: :gift: :balloons: HAPPY BELATED B-DAY, ANGIE AND JANA!!! :cb: :cp: :hb: :gift: :balloons:

   :cofdate: HAPPY ANNIVERSARY JANA AND NEAL!!!   :cofdate:

Good luck on your dr appt today, Jana -- I hope it's boring, routine, same ol' same ol' -- except I hope your Dr. realizes how hard you've been working to lose all that weight! I bet your cholesterol test will come back great :)

Congrats again on your new job, Marti -- orientation can be a bit...disorienting, I think  It will be better when you get settled in on your regular shift.

Laura, nice to see you posting here, and yes, I sometimes feel like I wanna take a walk and just keep on walking. Or take a plane to Costa Rica and stay there. Hang in there, and if you get discouraged, this is a good place to be. I've never found a more supportive, positive group.

Hi to everyone else...I gotta run to work, as usual. Take care, I'll pop in again as soon as I can...

Gotta fly --

:hyper: Katiecat

09-14-2004, 12:17 PM
Good morning ladies~

Don't really have much to say. I am in a mood...

Marti~don't really know what the difference is between the carefree roses and the others. I haven't really grown roses before. I did have one rosebush once and didnt do anything to it and it grew. Which was funny because my mother had a horrible time trying to grow roses and asked me what I did. Hey, I didn't know anything about it, still don't. Just know the carefree roses are like shrubs and bloom like crazy. And that they are exactly what they say carefree. When you first plant them you need to water them and maybe feed them but that is about it. I have fed these twice, maybe three times and cut them back about the same, but mainly because I have them by the walkway to the front door and don't want them hanging on the walk. It seems the more I cut the faster they grow. I have never seen roses bloom like these though. They really are pretty and once we build a fence int he back I will plant some in the back. Maybe Jana knows the difference? anyway, hope you get used to the schedule and get rested. That's a bummer that you have to pay to park.

Jana~thinking about you today at the docs. Having a mammogram is not fun at all but really not as bad as I first thought when I had my first one. I heard all these horror stories about how it hurt and the cold metal. Of course it did hurt a little but thank goodness there was no metal.

Mindee~aaahhh, in-laws...I hope in time it gets better for you, especially since you have a baby. I don't understand why some people try to make it harder for others. All that should matter is that their son is happy and they should accept that. Of course we know that's not how it always works but I hope it gets better for your family. Hope you enjoy your trip to your moms.

Jen~hope you enjoy your day off. Good deal about the job. Sometimes it is best to stay put.

Julie~can't give ya an advice or info. We were trying for a while and he did test low but figured it was because of the vasectomy, and then the reversal. Never pursued it because we quit trying-we are just too old! I wish you luck.

Susan~I definitely would look into the 3 bedroom and new job if it is doable. Sorry to hear things aren't working out with Mike, especially for Gaby's sake. It's too bad that he can't grow up and be a responsible dad to her. But then you wouldn't have known unless you tried, right? I will send you a car with a MM stamp on it. I need to go buy more before they run out. Anytime they have cute little stamps I try to get a bunch to put on cards.

Sue~hope you are enjoy your time with your mom. I completely forgot she was visiting. I agree about the laundry. I concentrated on that yesterday and ironing so that I could clean house today. Normally I try to do it all in one day which is not good.

Shanna~my grandma passed away from pancreatic cancer also. I always worry about that. Especially when I had my gall bladder removed because I let it go for so long I was in the hospital for a week because of pancreaitis and jaundice. They wouldn't operate till the inflammation went down and everything was normal. But just the mention of pancreatic cancer freaks me out.

Laura~sorry to hear about the gain. I don't know what it feels like to want to walk and keep going but I do feel that way once in a while when I am driving. I feel like I just want to run away and drive till I can't drive anymore.

Hi to everyone else, Angie, Katie, RosieKate, Kathy and anyone I may have missed.

Well, as I said don't really have much to say. Going to clean house today and read a little. When DH gets home will go with him to the foot doc and drop off a saw at a friends house and that's about all she wrote.

Take care ladies and have a wonderful day!

Hello All!

Just returned from the back-to-school vortex I have been in for the last week - sheesh! My kids appear to be settling in, for that I am grateful. I just registered for some continuing education, so it will soon be back to school for me also. I'm taking some distance courses through Portland State to keep my teaching credential current. I picked "Exploring the Internet - 1" - yes they give graduate credit for that! Since I've already taken web curriculum classes, this should be easy. The other class is "Brain-based Learning" - sounds kind of "duh", but it should really be pretty interesting.

Jana- Good luck on all your check-ups. I did that over the summer, it's nice to have that peace of mind. I bet your docs will be mighty impressed with your weight loss and will comment on your improved health. :)

Julie - If you and your fiance already know about his volume and motility issues, that means you are consulting a specialist already, I take it? Having been down this road, I think you are wise to get things checked out now. My DH and I started consulting a fertility doc in our 30s, and it takes time to check out all the possibilities. ivillage used to have a really good area on fertility issues - helped us out immensely when we were trying to conceive DD. I had endometriosis, but not terribly advanced. Just the sperm-killing type. If you watch Sex and the City, it's the same kind of infertility that the character Charlotte had. And look at me now! 10 years later, I have two kids who are just great - but they do talk an awful lot. No one tells you these things ..... :dizzy:

Susan- was telling DH last night that I need to call you.... Sorry Gaby's dad is being a poop. If you can swing the part time... it sounds like it could simplify your life.

Marti - hi ho hi ho it's off to work we go! We need to figure out a new chat time when you get settle in to your new work hours.

Cristi - ooo wasps. When we moved into our house 5 years ago the landscaping was pretty overgrown and we had to have five nests removed. My DH declared all-out war when one of the little buggers stung our then 2.5 year old son right on his little manhood when he was splashing around in the kiddie pool. None of us are happy to see them, let me tell you!

Mindee - hope things improve with the ILS. I have great ILs, I must say. DH and I have an agreement that we each deal with our own families. We pretty much stay out of each other's family dynamic as much as possible (when it gets negative) and after being together 18 years, it has worked rather well. If Tommy's family gets their kicks from excluding you, then it's their loss and it sounds like you have a man who will stick up for you which is essential. I just had to call my dad on the carpet during our vacation, as he was laying into my DH over something stupid. Unprovoked I might add. David is way too polite to put my Dad in his place, but I'm not ;) Then again, I feel it is my responsibility to set the boundaries there.

Laura - (((((Big Hugs))) Sounds like you had a bad day - hope today is better.

Hi to Shanna and Angie and Jen and anyone else I may have forgotten. I'm off to find a core-friendly polenta recipe. Think I may just make some plain old mush, then broil it in the toaster oven. BTW - I didn't reallly try to stay OP at the Mexican restaraunt. I had a lo-carb dinner - dungeness crab enchilada witha mixed green salad. It may have been lo-carb, but that's the ONLY lo thing about it. It was so good! So, my little dietary thrill ride is over and I'm back OP. Because of my little indulgence, my weight stayed the same at this week's weigh in

Oh well - comme ce, comme ca

Happy day to everyone!
