Morning Crystal!! How r u this morning? Hope you have fun day planned!

Welcome Heather, I am Melissa SAHM of 2 ages 4 and just about 2. You'll love it here!

Sorry, Everyone I was MIA yesterday. I am busy getting things ready for when Abigail goes back to school tomorrow. She can't wait. I did check in and read through the thread yesterday. Don't think I'll remember everything, but a few things stuck out sooo..... here we go

Spryng, I'd be pretty upset if I had a routine and a way about doing things and then someone wanted to come in and change my system. Especially one that works so well. I'm sure you'll work out all the quirks. Might be tough for a few weeks, you guys have to get used to living together all over again.

JIll, How was dinner last night with your family? Too funny about you first kiss. I was LMAO! I think that was you who told about you face being sucked off....lol Great job with the workouts.

Penny, LMK how you make out at the weight loss clinic. I'm kind of afraid right now to go on the meds, I know they can effect mood and I had such a hard time coming off antidepressants from postpardum. The weining off was terrible!!!! I really hadn't been depressed before taking them, but the doctor felt I needed something daily to help with anxiety I had from Bugga being born early and having all the little problems he had and Abigail was being a little Bugger herself at that point. Doing things like poking, or biting little tiny Patrick, because she was jealous. Anyway, when I wanted to come off them after 5 months it was awful! I was dizzy and I started to feel depressed like I never felt before. I knew it was that Cr...p in my body. I asked my husband to bear with me while it weaned off. Took three torchering months to feel human again. Not to mention that the meds but 40 lbs on me in 4 months. That's how I ended up here. I was at 221.5 and I before gaining this I was in the 180's losing the weight from Patrick. Sorry, to go on....it just came out. my whole point was that I am uneasy for myself to take the meds for I don't know how it will effect my mood. boy this was a mouth full.

Hello Leigh, Michelle, Jamyi Kristen...and the rest of you...oh, yes, I wanted to address Kristin.

Kristen, I just wanted to give you some friendly, not medical, advice about going to the doctor for the blood test... This happened to two friends of mine. They're pd's were late testing at home was negative numerous times. They went to the doctor for blood work and the tests were negetive too. THe doctor perscribed meds to bring on the pd, but my friends were still convinced so they waited before taking the stuff. My one friend went to another doctor first and they did a repeat blood and that was positive and the other retested home in 1 week and it was positive. What we assume happend was that the period was going to be late and that's when they concieved, so the tests were negetive for longer. ONe had irregular pd and one didn't. Oh yes, the one was told that she was pregnant, that's what it was, but there wasn't enough hormone so the dr assumed that she had a mis and told her to come to the hospital for a dand c .. she kept her US appointment, because she didnt' want to believe it and there was a heartbeat...dumb doctor. Anyway, my point is, if your blood test comes back negative, don't despair, wait a while longer and test again. Wait ...you pd will come eventually or you will be pregant and test positive soon. Hope this helps you. BTW the one girl is 5 months pregant ...the one who had the US and saw the heartbeat after the dr told her to d & C and the other baby is about 1 1/2 years old.

Sorry, such a long posts ladies, I really wanted to tell kristin those stories.

Good morning all!

Ok, I have updated new on my DH job change. Looks like it isn't going to happen anytime soon. The company he works for has no openings for a day cab driver... really sucks. SO he is going to have to look outside the company which could take awhile. He is not giving up (I'm starting to feel less optimistic about it) so we'll see what happens in the next few weeks. When he comes home this weekend he will try and get some applications out and talk to a few companies.
I don't have much planned for today. Just general housecleaning and that is about it. My exercise I will get in later too.
Penny and Jill have the QOTD today so I'm looking forward to that! :)
Not sure about Dinner tonight. I'd like to make beef stroganoff but I'm out of ff sour cream so that would require me to leave, lol... which I don't really feel like doing. So maybe garlic lime chicken or something. Seems like I'm eating tons of chicken, lol. What are you all planning??

Heather, so nice to know your first name! I don't know much about LA Weightloss but I'm glad you have found something you like! It really makes all the difference. What kind of exercise equipment do you have at home? I just have some dumbells and The Firm workout DVDs with the fanny lifter... I do have one of those big exercise balls but I used it for the birth of my 3rd baby never for exercise, maybe I should check that out, I hear good things about it. So are you married? If so how long? I don't think you said before.

Mel, that was so interesting about your friends! I wonder why some women have no probs taking those HPT and others need a blood test? But none the less it great they went with their gut and waited a little longer to find out the truth! So what do you have planned for today?

Crystal, I hope you get a nap in also! I would be half dead right now if my kids woke up and didn't go back to sleep. I don't know how you do it! :) What are you up to today?

Well, I'm off here to find some breakfast. I was so hungry last night for some reason, and even though I just ignored it it's back this morning with a vengeance! LOL! So I need to go eat something. TTYL!

Hi everyone! Well, so far it's been an uneventful morning. Seems like we're back to the former sleep/wake schedule. Maybe because DH is home and gets up at a set time to go to work. As it turns out, Six Feet Under wasn't on last night- maybe because it was a holiday week? Have any of you seen Dog: The Bounty Hunter on A&E? It's reality- follows this bounty hunter around. It's strangely captivating LOL.

Angel- Hi! :cheer: on being down! But, I'm sorry you're having such a bad week with TOM. I get that way too with PMS and always feel kind of ridiculous afterwards.

Welcome, Heather! I'm Leigh. I'm trying to do Weight Watchers (though lately have been off track a bit). I look forward to getting to know you better - you'll love the group here.

Penny- sounds like we're in a very similar place mentally. Keep us posted on what they tell you at your appointment.

Spryng- :bravo: on the workout! Wow- sounds intensive LOL. Yes, we eventually figured out there was no Six Feet Under (maybe because it was a holiday weekend?). Sorry about DH's job :( Well, when it's the right job it will happen

Crystal- good morning :) Let us know how Alisa does with reading.

Melissa- hi! So will Abigail be excited/impatient for scool all day today?

Okay, I've got to go get some cleaning done. TTYL.

Good morning. i am getting ready to go exercise. Welcome, Heather. I am Ricci (pronounced Ricki) SAHM to two boys, Eric, who will be 6 tomorrow, and RJ 4. You will really like it here.
Ladies, I now have a whole new apprieciation for hair dressers. I have so much crammed into my head right now. FYI, I passed my first test Friday. I got a 96%. I just hope I do as well on my next 5, and that I pass my final with no trouble. Last night we had to do an undercut haircut on our manequin, and I think mine sucked. Oh well, I just have to remember I can't do it perfect the first time. That is just something I have to get over.
Sounds like everyone is doing good. Spryng, that chicken swiss avacodo sounds yummy. Well, I am off to exercise, and then to study. Have a great day.

Good Morning Ladies!!

Kristin I first want to address you, when we were trying to conceive Teagan I went through countless blood/and home tests, what happened? I was stressing myself out which can throw your cycle off big time, I was regular to the day and then one month TOM never came and I ended up having a 56 day cycle, this was around month 6 of TTC and the docs had us lined up to go to a fertility clinic since we were both relatively young, well I found out I was pregnant the day before we had our appointment. The line on the test was barely there you had to squint to see it so I went to the doctors and got a blood test that day and 45 minutes later I knew :) Hang in there and try to remain stress free :)

Spryng You poor girl!! I know you had your hopes up for a job change for DH!! It will happen girly. Job hunting is so stressful, but I'm sure he'll find something :D

Penny You know I think that if you feel you need to go back to the doc then GO!!! You and only you know what helps you :) :grouphug:

Geri???? Are you safe?? I miss you!! ;)

Ricci That is an awesome score on your test!!! Wooohoooo Congrats :D

Di? Are you out there sweetheart!! If you need to talk I'm here!!

Leigh I'm a bit envious of you living in the big city lol, I LOVE the city but there are things taht I don't like about living in big cities as well, damn catch 22 isn't it ;) I love those stroller blankets but heck we'd be crazy to go out in a stroller in the middle of winter here!!

Speaking of winter, I would like to arrange a gift swap with our regular members if everyone would like that? And not nesicarily an xmas gift as some of us don't celebrate xmas so they can be friendship gifts :D Let me know what ya'll think.

Well Teagan has been trying to take her first steps but chickening out in the middle, she is now standing without any support whatsoever and no more wobbly knees til she tries to walk lol. I can hold her hand and she'll walk around with me but other than that she is a big chicken lol.

Well I need to get the day started. I'll post again soon!
Love to all
Michelle

THank you SO MUCH to all of you who gave advise and offered support for me. :) (((hugs))). I really appreciate it. I am still having trouble finding a doc...the ones that I look up on my insurance match a few of the ones that practice at the hospital I want to go to (they just finished a BEAUTIFUL hosp that is not even a mile away from me, and its got a 'maternity center') but their actual offices (where I would go for check-ups and such) are all the way across town..I'm not sure what to do....I think I am just going to call some of them and find out what the deal is, or see if they can help me find a OB OFFICE out here! sheesh! To top it off, sydney is still sick, she just hasnt been herself, sleeping constantly, and shaky, not eating well, etc. so she has a doc appt today at 11am. Sorry not to get personal this morning, I will try when we come home from running around and see if she will take a good nap and then I will try to get back here !!

Mel - thanks for taking the time to tell me about you 2 friends...I know that time will tell !! ;)

Can't remember who asked :dizzy: but someone asking how it was with sydney. Well, I went in for my yearly and they told me I was pregnant! :) I had m period for about half of my pregnancy with sydney, Iwas almost 2 months prego and didn't know it..I Was tired and had the symptoms, but wasn't looking for them, just thought TOM was nasty!

Okay girls. We haven't started school yet. I like to wait until Andrew takes a nap. Makes it so much easier. Alisa is very easily distracted student and he makes it worse.

Spryng, so sorry about dh's job. But if it's meant to happen it will work out. I wish you all luck with that. Ever since I've had kids almost 6 years ago, I've hardly ever had a full nights sleep. I could probably safely say less than 20 nights in 6 years. You actually become used to it. May not like it, but you learn to function that way.

Leigh, Alisa seems to be what's called a lazy reader. She loves the concept of reading, she just doesn't want to go through the process of learning to read. So it's tough with her being my first. But she's doing okay.

Ricci, wtg on your first exam. I know what you mean about having new found respect for them. I went to school to learn nails and in spare time I would tune into the hair dressers and such. I was always the gopher and would let them practice on me. We had alot of fun.

Well, I've got some research to do on the net before we start school. TTYL

Hello again!

Just got done with breakfast... boy I thought I was starving! LOL. We had scrambled eggs, lean ham, and I had 1/2 an avocado and a big glass of ff milk. It hit the spot! So now I think I will live, lol.

Kristin, how long would it take you to drive accross town to go to the doc? My midwife was 1 1/2 hrs away and I don't regret it for a second. The hospital in this town SUCKS! I wouldn't take my dog (if I had one) there to have puppies! LOL. So maybe if that hospital is a good one you should consider it... or at least make an appointment with someone there to get the blood test and then find someone closer to complete the pregnancy with? I am so worried about Sydney! I hope she is ok, and that's it just the flu or something. Is she running a fever? Keep us informed ok?

Michelle, so how was your anniversary??! Don't leave me in suspense!! LOL! I think a gift swap would be lots of fun! Count me in!! Congrats to teagan!! How cute they are when they first start walking :) Ahhhh... *sigh* I miss it already!!

Ricci, I'll let you practice on me!!! What do you say? ;) Actually if you lived closer or could meet or something I would let you practice on me, lol. Sounds like you are doing great! Do you plan on opening your own beauty shop after this or just joining another one?

Leigh, I don't know if it was because of the holiday weekend or not that 6 ft under didn't come on... I just know I hate having to wait two weeks for the finale! LOL! And it looks like it will be a great finale!! I don't think Lisa is dead... and if she really is it looks like it was murder... let me know what you think ok? I'd love to pick your thoughts about it, lol.

Ok, gonna get off here. TTYL!

Hey girls I'm tired! I was so tired at my moms house last night that I was falling asleep on the couch but when we got home do you think I could fall asleep nooooooooooooooo I was up later than usualy! I think it is cause my body was sore from the gym yesterday and was punishing me LOL Anyway I am going to the gym again today but will do cardio so it shouldn't be too bad, I actually like cardio cause I can wear my headphones and watch Regis and Kelley LOL

So I have some exciting news! I told you my cousin (Lindsay) was preg. last week right? She's like one of my best friends so it's super exciting well she grew up being really good friends with a boy named Nick, his mom is best friends with my aunt, and Nick and Lindsay were born a week apart and we just found out yesterday that Nicks wife is preg. too, due right after Lindsay!! Isn't that crazy? I know you guys don't know these people but I know you would appreciate the story since their moms were best friends and due a week apart and now their kids are doing the same thing! I thought is was so cute. I am so excited for both of them. Actually Nicks wife is the one that works at the gym that I told her about yesterday, the one who said I looked like I had lost weight! So funny how these things happen, I totally have to congratualate her today, I am so excited. The only thing that would make this day better is if Kristin told us she was preg.!! Right? Just kidding Kristin it will happen in time.

Ok getting personal now!

Crystal 3:45?!! Yuck I know you are used to it but no thank you. Losing sleep is like a slow death for me (and the ones around me LOL) why so little sleep? Why do your kids wake up so much? Hope Alisa does good with her first book. I'm sure once she picks up on reading she will do really good.

Mel yes it was me getting my face sucked off LOL lovely first kiss huh? So have you taken Patrick to the doc yet? Keep us updated on that!

Spryng sorry about dh, I know you were looking forward to that. I bet if you look hard enough though you will find something that will make money and let him stay home, just may take awhile. Glad you got full!! LOL

Leigh glad your back on a good schedule. Sorry about your show not being on!! Hope you get some good cleaning in!

Ricci Hi! Glad you are doing good in your class, sorry about that haircut though. I'm sure it's a fluke thing, you'll do better next time!

Michelle, I am in suspense about your anniversary too! How did it go? I think a gift swap would be great! I'm in too! First steps huh? Bayley is getting there but I think it will be another month or so until she actually does it.

Kristin good luck with Syd. I hope it's nothing major. Just the flu or something. Let us know how the dr. goes with her.

Ok QOTD, I have been interested in asking this for a while just because I'm a fairly new mom and like talking about everything baby and I just want to say that this is not meant to be a right way wrong way question because I don't believe there is a right or wrong way. I just want to know. I know you all are mature and positive people anyway so I'm not worried about it so I'll stop rambling and just ask the question LOL

Did you bottle feed or breast feed? And what were reasons for doing one or the other?

I breastfed because it seemed easier and everyone around me did it. I liked the benefits they told me would come out of it and I had a lot of support doing it. My cousin also worked at a medical rental place and got me a hospital grade breast pump for free! So that made it nice so I didn't have to nurse all the time, I could just pump and take a bottle with me. So that's what I did, you?

Oh ya today is my 4 year anniversary!! We are going to dinner tonight and I am so excited! Not sure where we are going yet but I will clue you in later, Ok I need to go so I can go to the gym at a decent hour! TTYL

Michelle, I think a gift swap would be great! Maybe an ornament swap, or whatever. It would be fun.

Leigh, glad you have your power back. ALso, I'm so sorry I never got back to you on your email. Yes, that's fine with me.

JIll, so exciting about you cousin! Also, Bugga goes to the dr tomorrow after noon. He's going to need blood work :( that won't be fun.

I would like to do the gift swap too. QOTD: I bottle fed both of mine. They refused to latch onto the breast. I tried for about a week with both of them, had a cosultation with a breastfeeding expert, and everything. So, I pumped for another two weeks, and it got to be too much hassle, so they were formula babies. I admire those of you who did breastfeed, because its not as easy as it looks.

Hey girls!!

Mel good luck with bugga and the blood draw tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you! An ornament swap would be nice except there are some who don't celebrate holidays thats why I thought a "friendship" gift swap would be good. Any more ideas? Of course we will put a $10 limit :) And I can draw names for everyone. Actually how bout everyone who wants to be involved let me know I'll put up a list at the SAHM page at http://groups.msn.com/momslosingweight

Jill that is soooo neat about the pregnancies. When I was pregnant with Teagan my sister was pregnant with me and it was great and a wonderful bonding experience.

I had BK for lunch today a Veggie Burger and small onion rings, only 11 points. I think...anyway it was a healthier alternative and tasted yummy.

Yugi got a check up today for his little leg and the doc said he looks great and he even gained 1/4 lb!!

My anniversary was great we were going to go to a movie after dinner but we decided to come right home and enjoy eachothers company since we didn't have the girls! ;) Then we went and got the girls and took them for ice cream at DQ. We watched Jersey Girl together which I LOVED!! Tonight we may watch Passion but not sure yet.

Penny....Where the heck are ya??

Heather so sorry I forgot to welcome you yesterday! Welcome to 3FC!! Its great to have you!! I'm Michelle sahm to 3 yo taylor and 10 month old Teagan. I'm doing WW and loving it! How bout you?

Ok guys I'm off to do some stuff I'll post in a bit!

ooops sorry, I forgot the QOTD:

I breast fed Abigail until she was one. It was so easy and I didn't have to warm any bottles. With Bugga I had to pump and feed for the first 10 days and then after that I had to do a combo, because his little mouth was to little to nurse. He would for a while, but then was pooped out! He cried so much after the first 3 weeks until around 2 months. At that time I had to stop nursing him. He was lactose intolerant. So 7 dollar a day formula in a bottle was his thing until he was one.

MichelleRae

DOH!!!! I forgot the QOTD!!

QOTD: I did both with both of my children I nursed Taylor for 6 weeks but it was extremely painful and I couldnt nurse without crying and Taylor could sense that it wasn't a good experience for me so I switched to bottlefeeding so we could turn unpleasant feeding times in to wonderful bonding time. Teagan I nursed for 4 weeks until I had a radioactive medicine done and several surgeries so I quit with her after 4 weeks because of all the medicine/painkillers and radioactive medicine in my system, it was best for both of us. Both my girls are healthy and growing well. I did feel guilty with both after I stopped nursing but I had to do what was good for both of us :)

Jill, school was a nightmare today. It was the worst day since we've started. I think I'm gonna enjoy this year long schooling, because at the end of next week we get to take 2 to 3 weeks off and that will be a good refreshing time.
I don't why my kids don't sleep all night. They never have until they are about 3 yrs. I just simply have gotten used to it. It's harder being pregnant, because i run down faster during the day.
QOTD: I did both on all 3. Let's see...when Alisa came out, the umbilical cord broke right away and they were afraid she'd become anemic so since my milk wouldn't come in for a few days, they said she needed those nutrients from formula. So right away I had to put her on the bottle, but she also accepted the breast and I did both when ever they were convenient and then stopped nursing at about 5 months. Ally was very colicy and I was nursing, but because she was always so cranky, I tried other formulas to see if they would help, which they didn't but she liked them so I stuck with both until 5 or 6 months. Andrew was almost a 9 lb. baby and I nursed him but felt like he wasn't getting enough, because he would nurse, literally all the time so I tried formula and he LOVED it, but he still nursed as well until around 5 months. I think alot of the time it was in my head to put them on the bottle, but I so much enjoyed nursing, after the pain goes away, it's awesome and I intend to do the same with this one.

Okay, as I told Jill, this was the worst school day yet. I'm having troubles and they get me upset and we had to school while Andrew was awake which made it more terrible. School is over and lunch is over, I'm gonna finish my lunch and lay down and hopefully when I get up I'll be anewed and refreshed. I need to run to town later so I'll check in sometime.

Ahhh sorry Heather I forgot to say hi! I'm Jill SAHM to Bayley who will be 1 on the 19th. I know you will love it here! Tell us more about yourself!

Crystal sorry you had so much trouble with school today! That stinks. Hopefully it will bet better tomorrow. I'm glad you will have those 2-3 weeks off, it should help a lot.

Mel good luck with the dr. tomorrow. Taking blood is bad enough with adults LOL I hope he does well and they find out whats going on.

Michelle I'm glad you had fun with your dh last night! Your lunch today sounds sooooooooooo good. Mmmmmmmmmm I haven't had one of their veggie burgers in a long time!!

Ok gals Bayley just went down for a nap so I think that is my cue to get some stuff done. I also need to get prepared to argue with the water company later today. Wish me luck! If anyone wants to do flylady just IM me, I'll be around. TTYL!!

I'm back!! :)

Well lunch ended up being baked fish with homemade tartar sauce... I was craving it so bad!! So at least it's very healthy, lol.
I also just got done with my workout, 40 min!!! (I did both shows) today we worked on the spine and back and then great aerobics and more thigh, butt and leg workouts... she can really get me sweating on the inner and outer thighs moves, lol. But I feel really good now. I won't exercise tomorrow since I'll be at the doctor but friday I'll be at it again!

QOTD-- I wanted to be a breastfeeding mom. I really tried with Ava (my oldest) she was 5 lbs 2 oz at fullterm and when I brought her home she was 4 lbs 11 oz and so tiny! She had the hardest time latching on. It would tire her out and she'd fall alseep hungry. She started losing more weight and I was getting so frustrated with myself that at day 5 I had to put her on a bottle. i tried pumping but we had no money at the time and I had this cheap little plastic pump that broke the second time I used it and couldn't afford another one so I made the descision to put her on formula. It was the hardest desicion I've ever made and I went into a deep post partum depression over it. It was awful. I just felt like running away from my life. I only suffered through that for a few weeks and then got better and she started growing and was so healthy I knew I made the right choice. So with the other two I never even tried to breastfeed because I was so scared of the same thing happening again and I don't think I can survive that kind of depression again. It was so awful. So I think breastfeeding is best and encourage and support those that do it, it just isn't for me.

Jill, you getting alot done around the house?

Crystal, so sorry your morning has been so stressful! I hope you are refreshed after your nap too.

Michelle, did that BK burger taste like a reg burger? I do like morningstar farms and such but if I'm going to pay for a burger I want it to taste awesome, lol. Sounds like you had a very nice anniversary! I'm so glad!

Jill, everyone around you is getting pregnant! You're next you know that right? LOL! I was pregnant with my mom. Yes you heard right. I have a little brother that is 8 weeks older than Ava. I don't recommend that though, lol. My mom was constantly on me about BC and all that and she called one day crying that she thought she could be pregnant. Sure enough she was! I found out I was pregnant a few weeks later and we were 5 weeks apart. Everyone thought it was so neat but I didn't. My mom is overweight and no one could tell she was expecting so if I went anywhere with her people would comment about my belly and when I was due and my mom would get mad and say she was pregnant too and due first! But it all turned out ok in the end I suppose, lol. I'm sure friends being pregnant would be much more fun!

Well I'm off here again. Penny.. where are you??

Hey remember how I said my baby went down for a nap and I was going to get some things done? Ya right!! She just now went to bed and I think for good this time. She was wanting lunch I think so I just fed her some lasagna and peaches and she seems happy now. Anyway I need to plan menus for the week and I am excited because I had 2 meals away from home this week so I have recipes and all the supplies for 2 dinners already next week so that means less money spent and less time coming up with recipes. I am so excited to make Spryngs Avocado swiss chicken thing tomorrow! I took my first suvaril pill today with lunch so we will se how it goes. I will need to take another one with dinner though so I don't go overboard. However if we go the restaurant that I am thinking of I really want their home made root beer! It is sooooooo good, I think I should be allowed to splurge a little right? Anyway that is my day so far in a nutshell! LOL

Spryng I would seriously love to be pregnant again especially with my cousin but I would probably cry if I was right now cause I am so close to being done with school that it would throw everything off and stress me out big time. For awhile after Bayley was born I wanted to have another one right away but I am now in school mode and just want to focus on getting done with it so I can then focus on having another baby. I have a hard time focusing on 2 things at once can you tell? LOL Besides my cousin, sister and I decided we would have our 2nd babies together. Well it would be my sisters first but I think it would be great. And about the breastfeeding I would have bottle fed too if I had that situation because in the hospital Bayley wasn't latching so well and I obviously didn't know what I was doing but the nurses were so great and I just went home and she caught on fast, I also had one of the best breast pumps out there but wouldn't have had it if it weren't for my cousin. I could see how things would have been a lot different if Bayley wouldn't have latched and if I wouldn't have had that breastpump. It's a stressful time anyway and when there are problems it just makes things so much worse. I think it's also easier to breastfeed here in Oregon because we have so many pro-breastfeeding organizations around here. I heard on the news that Oregon has the highest rate of breastfeeding moms and partly because we have that law that says moms can breastfeed anywhere they want and no one can discriminate. It makes it nice when people support your choices cause I know there are some places that find it totally appalling. Anyway that's enough of that! LOL your story just struck me and I had to comment.

As for the rest of you I really love hearing about your breast/bottle stories. I think there is a lot of judgement passed on people for doing either. I don't like it when people think that either one is superior to the other because it is a personal decision and ultimatley you have to do what is right for you and the baby. The only time I really get worked up about it is when people are pressured to do what everyone thinks they should do. I have a girlfriend who is considering getting pregnant soon and neither her or her husband were breastfed but she wants to but her mom and mil are like "you know if you breastfeed Jeff won't have to help" Jeff is her husband and would totally help in other ways and if she gets a breastpump he can still feed the baby. They influence her so much and I just feel bad for her cause I know what she wants to do and what she will end up doing are two different things. Ok geez I'm writing a book, I'm just passionate about it right now because I have these things going on in my life right now. Ok I really need to get something done because dd is finally asleep!! Yay!!! TTYL

Hey Ladies...

I started writing a post twice today but I never got a chance to finish either of them.

I am doing some work for hubby but I will check in later on tonight and let everyone know how today went...

Ok My QOTD: What is your favorite healthy snack?

I breastfed Hunter for 3 months then my pressure shot up so high they had to put me on a med that he couldn't take :( Quit cold turkey.

Nicholas would not nurse at all! :(

Andrew nursed for 10 months then I weaned him to a sippy cup.

Ok Ladies I hate to run but I got a ton to do :( TTYL :)

Answer 2 QOTD: My favorite healthy snack is apples! Granny SMith or Pink Lady.

watkinsguru

QOTD 2: I think fruit. Not all kinds, mostly big, firm fresh peaches are my favorite. I'm picky about how I like all my fruit.

I had about an hour nap and woke up to Andrew crying because ants had gotten into his bed. He only got two bites out of it. Cleaned that up and went to town. We're back and now Andrew has started coughing again, so he needs a treatment.
I think dh has come to the conclusion that we may not be able to build so we're gonna be thinking of plan b. Not sure what that is.

Okay, gotta get some dinner going and a load of laundry started.

Mel, I know. We've had so much trouble with them this year. We didn't have this trouble last year.

Spryng, yes you have a great time. You've been being able to see him more often here lately and that is great.

Where is Leigh? Hadn't heard from her since this morning.

Michelle, of course add me onto that list.

Okay, dinner is in progress, the chicken was still frozen so it's going to take a bit longer. But I started it earlier. You know, I'm still waiting to move to Florida, we're just waiting for this dang hurricaine season to be over. Dh isn't as interested as I am, but his family is so we're hoping to convince him.

Okay, I'm gonna get off for a bit. Hope everyone is having a great day.

Ok did anyone watch Oprah today? It was a good one, it was all about food and how it affects aging and health, which I know we all know but this guy was on that was telling about super foods that help you live longer and he said to get all the benefits from salmon to lower your chance of cardiac arrest that you needed to have it 4 times a week! Now I don't know about you but I could first of all not eat salmon 4 times a week (dh would refuse anyway) nor afford it. So I think that is rediculous. I will try to eat it once a week but not 4! Anyway that is all I have to say for now. Just thought I would share! LOL TTYL!!

Jill, I didn't watch Oprah, though I love her. That would have been a good one to watch. I don't like any fish. Salmon is one that I can handle, but like you, not 4 times a week. Dh would love it, he LOVES salmon. But like you again, I couldn't afford it. It's about the same as a T-bone steak.
I've have cooked dinner, cleaned the kitchen, prepared my coffee for the morning, prepared dh's lunch for tomorrow. I gave the kids a bath and now fixing to put clean sheets on their beds. I'm definitely ready for bed time. I think I'll lay in my bed and read some of my book about starting my coffee house. Dh's allergies have kicked in and he's feeling terrible.
Guess I'll get off and make those beds. TTYL

Good evening ladies.

I don't have much time to get personal. I have so many things I need to do around here. Being gone all weekend really put me behind. I have been working most of the day to put together a photo album of the pictures I took this weekend of the Cowboy Action Shoot so dh could take it to work to show everyone what he likes to do for fun. I had to print pictures, make up captions, then cut all of it out and put them in the album. He better appreciate it ;)

So far since I've been home I have stayed on plan. The excercise hasn't been on course but I have bene burning calories by helping dh do some much needed cleaning and organizing in the gun shop. Hopefully you all were right that the 1 pound was just temporary. I won't know til Tuesday. I'm trying to not cheat by jumping on the scales early.

Supper tonight was broiled white fish with fresh squeezed lemon, asparagus with lemon and dijon mustard, and a slice of mountaineer bread that I got at the farmer's market yesterday made by the Mennonite women. Soooooooo good. It's made with oatmeal, wheat germ, and bran cereal. Can't be too bad for me......I hope. They don't put nutritional values so I had to guess compared to other breads.

QOTD #1: I breast fed the first til he was 6 months, the second til he was 6 months, the 3rd was preemie and by 6 weeks wasn't getting enough to satisfy him so I had to start mixing with cereal and by 3 months on formula, the 4th for 4 months. I feel like they really need to be breast fed, even for a short time, to get more immunity from mom. My kids are pretty healthy and I think that had a lot to do with that.

QOTD #2: Don't really have a favorite healty snack. I like raw veggies and some fruit but never have been a big fruit eater. I usually have a Slim Fast shake or 100 calorie pack of wheat thins. My favorite fruit would probably be cantaloupe if it's good and sweet.

Well the dishes aren't washing themselves and only and hour and a half til kiddos bedtime...YEAH !!!!!!

Talk to you all in the morning.

BTW.....add me to the list too Michelle. I think that would be so nice to do around the holidays when everything else seems so hectic. Dh gets the same days off work that the kids get off school, so all of them home at the same time, it gets kinda crazy here.

Spryng,
Hope you are having a wonderful dinner with dh? You don't have any flex points left, do you? Report back to us :) :coach: :drill:
It is so wonderful you can see him tonight and then home this weekend! YAH!

Michelle,
Add me to the list also! What's the details... cut off date, amount and all those goodies... :)

Leigh,
Hope you are having a good day! Did you do your list today?

Crystal,
That is so horrible about the ants :( Hope you figure out a good plan with the house hunting! :goodluck: Sorry schooling went bad today :(

Jaymi,
Hope you are getting back on track! :)

Jill,
I was going to try to fly with you but I never made it.. :(

Kristen,
Hope Sydney is doing ok! Give her some extra kisses from us! Let us know if you get any new news on you! :goodluck:

Ricci,
You didn't tell us how you were doing today! Hope you are having a good one :)

Melissa,
I know how hard it is to have a little one do blood work :( I will keep him in my prayers!

Hope I got everyone! :) I started this post over an hour and a half ago...lol and just finished it....:)

As for me, I went to a new dr. today and she was really good. She told me the reason I can't stay on a plan is that I am trying to hard...lol basically...lol

She said I might be setting myself up for failure because I am trying to change all of my eating and exercising habits at once. She told me to focus on one thing at a time and then add another one two to three weeks later.

Ex: Drink all my water and watch my portion control for a couple weeks, then start exercising three x's a week/30 minutes a day, then once I have mastered those and they are part of my daily routine, add another.

Every time I screw up on my plan I get so upset with myself and I end up just giving up. So she said that if I focus on one thing at a time if will become second nature to me and that it will just be something that I do and not even think twice about it. :)

She also told me that if I drink any diet soda or such follow it by two glasses of water.

Let's see, what else.... Hmm... She have me a prescripton of the phenetermine and told me to only take a half dosage instead of a whole.
And she told me I can take it only when I feel like I need it, not all the time. She said is usually looses impact after 3 to 4 months. So I am going to see how it goes...

I just know I am not getting anywhere lately and I just needed an extra boost :)

Have a great night!

Penny that sounds great!! I think she was right on because before when I would try to diet I would lose a lot but then fall of all of a sudden because it wasn't something I could stick with. So this time I told myself to start slow. I have just cut out fast food except for special occasions and tried to limit high fat and carb foods and I have lost 10 pounds! I know that I am on the right track and I feel like I can handle more now so I think I will start trying to do the WW Core now. I'm shopping tomorrow and I think my menus are almost all core so we'll see how it goes. I know you can do it! Let us know how you are going to start out, more water smaller portions etc so we can cheer you on! We're here for you!

Hey ladies

QOTD #1: I to tried to breastfeed all of my kids but,I just could'nt take the pain and it only lasted at the max 3 to 6 weeks between all of them.I started bleeding and still continued to breastfeed and cry at the same time.I also felt really guilty about switching to the bottle. All my kids took to formula well.It was me that did'nt want to stop breastfeeding. But I guess since their all healthy and happy today then I must have done the right thing.

QOTD #2 My favorite fresh snack is also fresh fruit with either fat free whipped cream or fat free cottage cheese.I just love the taste and texture of it.When I eat I really try to enjoy my food.I guess that true for everyone though.

Yes,I watche Oprah I took notes.I eat most of the superfoods which suprised me.Let me go get my list.OK here's the list:beans,1/4 cup of brocolli or brocolli sprouts, oatmeal, fresh oranges, wild salmon(I don't eat that)soy foods(or that),spinach or green leafy vegs, and tomatoes.
He also said if you don't like tofu that if you mixed it with something that you do like that the tofu will taste like whatever you mix it with.
To look younger you should:(after checking with your doctor)
Take 2baby asprin or 1/2 of a bayer asprin a day with a half of glass of water,
you should eat 1 ounce of real cocoa choclate a day.and eating it before meals will fill you up more and cause you to eat less at meal times.
Orange peppers are good for the eyes
Instead of coffee drink green or black tea.
And that's all the notes I have.I'm going to try the tea thing.Caffine suppost to help keep you young.he said that sugars age you faster than anything else.Anyhow thats Oprah's show the short version.lol

My day went very good today.I went and volunteered in Grace's class today.I got a bulletingboard ready to post and gave the kids their snacks. It was alot better than sitting at home by myself doing nothing. My kids have been suprisingly good this week.I think it has something to do with the weather. It's been rainy and yucky here. But I've really enjoyed them today.
We baked peanutbutter cookies and me and Grace taught a cute song with motions that we learned to the other 3 kids.It was fun.Everyone had a great laugh out of it.My oldest girl is really doing well this week today she got in troble twice and she took her punishment(sitting on her bed)really well.Normally she pitches a fit or back talks and gets more time on the bed.But she just sat there until I had a talk with her and let her get up.Really and improvement for her.
I think I'm going to get off here and soak in the bath.I will try and get personal tomorrow.I just can't keep up with this thread like I want to do.I can't really get on here until the evening, when all the kids are in bed. The computer is in my room. So, during the day Dh is sleeping and I don't want to wake him up.Anyhow,Love to all ttyl :D

Ok everyone, I don't eat most of those no-aging foods, so I guess I'm gonna get old quick!!! LOL. But last week on Oprah, she had a guest on that said you could live 6 years longer if you had an org.... 4 times per week. or 200 and something times per year.... I told my friend who told me about it, that we all better get moving. LOL. Sorry, just had to tell you all that.

Ok I'm Back!! Miss me?? LOL.

But I feel horrible... I ate waaaayyyyy too much. Dh had a hard day so he wanted mexican which I thought, ok, there will be something core there. Well I probably could have got fajita stuff and just not eat the tortillas (because Penny was right, I'm out of flex) but everything looked so good! So I got some combo plate then I took the kids to the bathroom and when I got back DH had ordered an icecream brownie sundae for me. Ugh. He was trying to be sweet and looked so pleased with himself, lol... so I ate some of that too. I did split it with him and the kids but still, I was already full (overly full) from my dinner plate. So now I feel upset with myself. And not to mention miserable because my poor stomach can't handle that much food so it will serve me right if I am up all night puking. Someday I will learn, lol.

I'll be back on in a little bit after I put the kids to bed, just wanted to let you all know I'm home safe and sound. Maybe I'll exercise again tonight and try to burn some of this off?? I'm pretty worn out from my earlier workouts. But I'll see. TTYL!

Hello again ladies.

Spryng_Don't feel bad.You deserve to treat yourself ,especially since I hear your doing so well on plan.Plus it was a good night out with the family so don't feel guilty. All of us would have eaten the same way if we were with you.lol Especially that desert. It sounds yummy.

Penny-I'm not sure about the green tea thing.I have a story behind it.I'll keep it short. My mom was on this diet and it was using green tea.Anyhow, she gave me some and I tried it.Well I was fine till about 2am then I thought I was going to die of stomach cramps.I mean I could not leave the bathroom for like an hour and you could actually hear my stomach rolling.I'm not sure if it was a special kind of green tea or not,but every since that.I've been kind of scared to try it again. Is there 2 kinds of green tea?Because if there is I don't want the one my mom let me try.I could of done without all those cramps.Ouch...

Well,I was about to have a good nights sleep and I went to the Kitchen and relized I have'nt packed the kids lunch yet.So i'm going to do that now and then I'll go to bed.
Oh one more thing,I don't know if any of ya'll are trying to get rid of stretchmarks but I bought scarzone,(it's alot cheaper than mederma)and I've been using it for about a week and I can already see a difference.I still have stretchmarks but they are starting to fade and fill in somewhat.Actually kind of cool.
Ta TA for now. :D

Spryng I am right there with ya!! I was going to try and get something healthy but they really didn't have anything so I got babyback ribs, salad, baked potato and steamed veggies, no pop though just water. I only ate half my potato and made them put all the butter and stuff on the side so that I could just put a little on so that was good. But I did eat a few pieces of their wheat berry bread and it was sooooooooooo good! No dessert though so that was good also. I am full though and know I ate way too much but every once in awhile isn't bad right? Don't feel guilty at all! I know that you will just start right back on track tomorrow and do great. Just try and get a little exercise in and I'm sure you will be just fine!

Hi Penny and Mel!!

Angel thanks for the stretch mark info I'll have to try it! I hate buying things like that, that are expensive when you don't know if they work or not. I'll check it out at wal-mart tomorrow.

BTW I am dumping this Suvaril crap. I have been jittery (like too much caffeine) since about 3 this afternoon and I have only had 1 pill today! Plus it made me more hungry!! I'm going to try and sell it on e-bay to get some of my money back on it. Don't buy it anyone!! Ok I'll be on this thing a little longer if anyone wants to chat. I might be "celebrating" with my husband though too so just leave me a message!

Penny and Angel, thank you so much for your encouraging words to me! It just aggravates me when I'm this close to my WI and I go and screw it up.. now it will show a gain for sure. Plus I wanted to see a loss tomorrow on the doctors scales and that won't happen, lol. But that is ok... The last time I weighed at my doctors I was 195 lbs!!! So I think she will notice a difference, LOL! In fact when I first got pregnant and weighed there I was 160 lbs so I'm way under that weight too... I'm sure she will be pleased! But you two made me feel much better about my big fattening dinner, lol. Now I just hope I can control myself this weekend when Dh is home. I always have a hard time eating right when he's home for the weekend. But I'm going to map out a plan. Saturday we were invited to a picnic with some new friends and I am really looking forward to that... she is dieting too so I'm sure we'll have healthy stuff there and I will volunteer to bring a dish too that is Core.

Ok, I have to get in bed... I will chat with you all in the morning! sleep well!
