Default Is Homemade Hummus Core?

The only thing I question in homemade hummus is the few Tb of lemon juice & the tahini paste (has as much fat as peanut butter). Just wondering if it's core.

It's chick pea dip, it has 2 ts. olive oil, chick peas, 2 tb. sesame paste (tahini), cayenne papper, 2 Tb. lemon juice, salt, 2 sm. cloves crushed garlic whirled in a food processor. It's pretty good. There are variations to the recipe using more garlic or tahini. I don't think it's core because we're not allowed peanut butter (unless we count it) & it has the same fat content as PB.

I think someone asked about chick peas??? maybe it was at my meeting?? I think we need to count points on those...if I remember right a 1/4 cup of hummus was 2 points.

Hi,
I've made a faux humus at home for years now and it's Core. I use chickpeas, fresh garlic, lemon juice, a tiny bit of olive oil, salt and pepper. I put all the ingredients into my food processor and grind away. I like it smooth, so I'll add more lemon juice as needed. I have never used the Tahini so this isn't an authentic hummus, but I still think it's good. Now I serve it with cucumber chips, carrots, green and red peppers--all perfect for snacking and all on Core. I hope you like this. (Just watch the amount of olive oil and you should be fine.)
