South Beach Diet - Hi...new to South Beach and 3FC's
08-30-2004, 07:51 PM
My husband and I started South Beach today and we did try it over the summer with success. Unfortunately I wasn't too committed to it, but now I feel totally different. I am ready to get myself under control and ENJOY life instead of feeling miserable about my weight. I lost 120 pounds 2 years ago, but I didnt do it very smart or healthy. I have sadly gained about half of it back now, but I want to put a halt to the gaining and get back into a healthier lifestyle. I have never posted before, but I really like the idea of having buddies to share struggles and successes with. I hope to visit with any of you! :)

Thank you all so much for the replies and support...it's so great!! I just weighed in...and not pretty...272!!! My goal for the month of September is 10 pounds. Does that sound like a reasonable goal? Thanks again. Good luck to all of you!

Welcome to another "Sisterhood", yaya. 10 pounds can be done, especially if you are really committed to Phase I. I'll add your goal to the September challenge.

Welcome, Yaya!
I think you'll love it here...definitely a great place for support and understanding. :)
If you ensure that you do Phase 1 without any cheats at all, I think 10 pounds is definitely a reasonable goal for your first month.
Glad you're here! :D

Welcome to the Beach Yaya. I love SBD, it is the easiest program I have ever been on. :jig: And yes I have had slips but it is also the easiest program to resume on. :cb: I think you will enjoy sharing the beach with us.

Hi Yaya! I am new too! :) I se eyou are from Kansas -- me too! What part are you from?
09-01-2004, 01:57 PM
That is cool!! I'm really close to Wichita. How about you??
09-01-2004, 06:21 PM
I am in Emporia -- about halfway between Wichita and Kansas City. Like I said on another board -- we have a ton in common! :) Newlyweds! :)
Are you from Kansas originally? I am from Kansas City and just moved here in Dec. to be with DH. (Well, he's from KC too and we met in KC but here moved here 2 years ago and I just came in Dec.) :)

I have lived here my whole life...I'm in Newton actually. I am pretty familiar with Emporia. I dated a guy for 5 months and went there almost every weekend. I like the town a lot. Especially the way the train tracks are overhead on some of the streets. Not here!!! Tracks run through town. LOL. You are so right, we do have a lot in common!

Yaya -- You are not far from me at all! My brother's fiance is from Newton. Do I remember that you are about 28? That's how old she is -- I wonder if you would know her!?!? :) That would be so crazy if you did!

You never know, I sure may know her! It's such a small world!!!

She was just in Newton this weekend with my brother for her ten year high school reunion! Her name is Kim (I won't post the last name for security's sake, though!) and has red hair. :) In case you know someone from that class!
