Support Groups - Former Chub Clubbers #11

Okay, let's start thread, new attitude, new outlook on life...

Not that we cannot complain, I agree Dolphin it does help to know that we are not alone in our struggles. I do think however, that it is our optomism...our ability to keep picking ourselves back up and starting once again that binds us together. We know we're life-ers lol, but there is no reason we can't keep supporting one another from a weight closer to goal's not that we're afraid that we'll lose our little support group if we complete the task right! We have nothing to lose but the weight, everything to gain including health, confidence and a new wardrobe!...even new undies! :D

So here it is Monday, start fresh, put the past behind you and work to put your best effort back together!

04-24-2001, 11:40 AM
Okay dookie- You want us to stop our b****ing! We'll try and be good for ya! Well I think I found my modivation. I saw the vegas show Storm last night. It's a show on seasons done to Latin music. What beautiful hard bodies. That's what I want!!!!

I am gonna go get new allergy medication so I can enjoy morning walks again. The baby is seeing an ENT sometime next week. Think we gotta do tubes. But that is better than these weekly trips to the docs. Michaels hasn't called but I think they were gonna hire for the new west side location first and then this side. I have faith they will call eventually. :) I am off to clean the house and burn some calories! audri

04-24-2001, 01:22 PM
lol, I've been the queen of complaints everyone else can post whatever they darn well feel like and not catch up to my negativity! In fact.....

No, today is a new day, I hope I make the most of it!

Warm wishes for Grif.... hope you can get him feeling okey-dokey for good soon!

04-24-2001, 02:23 PM
I'm still trying to get the eating under control. I upped my exercise last week and did better with the eating. Forget about the eating over the weekend but I did get plenty of exercise helping my daughter move. I does seem strange to know she's not coming home, bothers me more then I thought it would. Good excuse to eat more...NOT lol!!

Hope everyone is doing good.

04-25-2001, 11:54 AM
Sandy-sorry you are missing your daughter. Try to focus on the positive parts and really enjoy the visits and phone calls. She'll need ya a lot more now. The friendship thing starts happening now.'s treatment coming along. It is so wierd how many people I know who are going thru various treatments just like yours. I wonder if the tests are getting better or if something in the environment is making us go bad???? Luckily that is one thing I have not gone wrong. Body parts are dropping down there, but they are still all healthy.

I got my allegra yesterday. A few days of it and my sneezing should be gone! I think I got Grif's pink eye. Doc said I could use his medicine too. I can walk soon w/out sneezing my head off. :) Doors are opened at 7 am. It's gonna be a warm one. :) audri

04-25-2001, 10:00 PM
Sandy, good for you for working so hard right wonder you got to goal! And you'll be back there soon.

And Audri, I hope the tests are getting better...other reasons like dr's quick to do procedures or evironmental causes are scarry...but I'm drinking a bit more green tea, and eatting more soy hoping that might help.

I think I must really be missing the mark for me to have so few - currently none - stork rentals. I hope this weekend at the youth day are gonna color pictures of a stork at my booth, and get a lollipop. I'll have two of my storks there and coupons and flyers etc. I'm considering teaching water fitness classes and swim lessons at the Y this fall when Patrick is in Preschool...but in my heart I'd rather just be doing this stork thing. I see pregnant women all the time, and I never say anything to them directly. Maybe I should get more bold? Hmmm

2 days in a row of being good...hopefully I can make it 3 tomorrow!

04-27-2001, 01:14 AM
Yea, made it three...going for four!

Today I must admit, that I wished I could aford liposuction! I know, bad idea, but I looked at my blobby belly and just thought no amount of crunches will make it go away! Just suck it out through a straw! I won't put it back on I promise! :D

04-27-2001, 01:07 PM
Hi everyone, hope you are all doing good. I just got back from a walk at the beach with my dog. It was a little chilly but not too bad.

We are heading to our place in NH this afternoon, I haven't been there in a while so I'm looking forward to it.

Flower, I'm lucky, my daughter and I are already good friends. How did the allegra work for you? It will be nice to go for a walk without sneezing.

Mailwhale, keep up the good work, I hear you on the belly thing, that's where I still have problems and that's where the weight I gained back ended up.

Have a great weekend!

04-27-2001, 05:25 PM
Hey girlfriends! How are you? Chris starts his job today. Yeah! I really hope he likes it. Too bad it's on the strip. It is so hot and the Allegra isn't working as well as the Benadryl does. Gotta go. Kids need me.

04-28-2001, 03:56 AM
TGIF!! ...whew, what a long week! Intend to spend the weekend cutting out brush again, so will get in a good workout, muscle-wise anyway! Also getting in some walking, too, so in that I'm feeling better!

In the health dept tho, saw the dr this AM and am on my 4th antibiotic since Feb... sounds like most of us are having our share of nasty's this spring! Dr scheduled more tests/scopes, etc... so maybe he'll get to the bottom of whatever's going on < pun intended> :)

Mailwhale, thanks for the good pep talks... how's day 4 going? Hope your stork booth is a huge success! Seems marketing a new idea is the toughest part... hang in there, it sounds like something that should take off!

Sandy, hope your weekend in NH was a relaxing one... so good to be finally seeing spring in the mtns, huh?! Tho walking along the beach sounds wonderful... we're getting itchy to get our beach "fix" in, soon!

Audri, hope Grif is feeling better... that Chris likes his job.. and your allergies are getting better! ...So weird how many people I've talked to from Vegas this week<interviewed one who moved here from Henderson- said jobs out there are hard to find!> ... plus office buddy was there this past weekend - she said it was gorgeous -got in lots of walking before flying home Tues! Envied her.. toured CA, AZ, UT, NV - and came back with a gorgeous tan!!

Dolphin, hang in there... we're all struggling, and Mailwhale's right... we're in for the long haul, and supporting each other when we're having both ups and downs is what's been such a great thing since we all met in the Chub Club. How's it going for you this week?

Well... potty trip ended up checking in... but better get in more alarm-free snooze-time! TTYL!!! Have a great weekend!!!

04-29-2001, 02:18 AM
Hey Audri, Good luck to Chris...hope it works out great! And I'm sorry that your allegra isn't working as well as you hoped, Claritin? Nasonex?

Well Sandy, I guess we can learn to like our tummys or do something about it eh? lol

Sounds like you're ready for a vacation to some place warm itsworthit...both for your sniffles and just for the fun of it! It not, visualize it while doing your yard work!

Well, tomorrow is the day! I've made about 100 Apple Blossom extra day or 20 free lollipops. I hope the weather is nice so that lots of folks come on down! We've got a questionable forcast :?:

I think I'm about even after gaining on my 8 in 8 week and losing on my 7 in 7 week... hmmmm the saga continues :D

04-29-2001, 12:26 PM
Gals....I was lost & no-one told me that everyone was still around. I kept waiting for the e-mail thing to tell me there was a post but it didn't come. I am so busy lately that I didn't even think aobut the fact that maybe there was a new thread. DUH!!! I really feel dumb. I just kept thinking you all were too busy to post too. so from now on if I seem to be MIA someone please find me ok?

It does sound like everyone is busy. I hope things are working out for you.

Flower is the Allerga working yet? How is Chris' job going?

Mailwhale how was the Apple blossom festival? Did lots of people stop at the booth?

Sandy was NH beautiful this weekend? Did you get a good walk in?

Itsworthit, how is the brush coming? I sure hope you are feeling better soon.

I have been good, really good, for 3 full days. Hurray!!! I have been journaling every bite. I don't like to but it does keep me focused on what goes in my mouth. I have been doing crunches along w/ my exercise but I don't think my tummy will ever be flat either. Oh well, maybe just being healthy is good, not shooting for the goal of looking perfect. (I'm sure that won't ever happen.)

I am really busy lately. My oldest is coming to the end of her senior year & it is going to be crazy. We were looking at the calendar & every weekend until graduation is taken up & lots of weekdays too. It is so exciting for her & exciting & sad for me. We are great friends & it will be hard to have her leave in the fall.

I really hope all of you are having a good day. Try to eat right & have a positive attitude. We can succeed!!!

04-30-2001, 01:32 PM
Yea, the festival went really well! Lots of kids, parents and was well worth it, though it may take me a few days to recover lol! The lollipops were a hit and quite a few kids really enjoyed the coloring too. As soon as I get the pictures developed and on my website I'll let ya all know!

Okay, 6 days of being good for me, so I hope to continue on and see some real results...but I'm shocked to learn that I won't look perfect in the end, lolololololol. Yes, healthy is the point. Yet I can't help wondering if we can't just magically remove my jelly belly! :dz:

04-30-2001, 01:49 PM
Hurray for Mailwhale! I hope this is the beginning of a run on the stork business. Congrats on 6 days of being good too.

I am on day 5 of being good & I'm still feeling strong. The sugar cravings are going down now & that is really a plus b/c sugar is my weakness. I've been busy since 6:15 & I still have lots to do so have a wonderful, healthy & happy day.

Don't forget to post... at least a hello.

04-30-2001, 06:19 PM
Hi everyone,
We had a great weekend in NH, the snow is just about gone. I worked out in the yard all day Saturday and most of Sunday. So I got plenty of exercise. It was beautiful out, in the high 50's and sunny and best of all, no bugs! This will probably be our last weekend without bugs, so I took advantage of it.

Flower, how is everything going?

Mailwhale, congrats on doing so well, keep it up. Keep working on that belly, you're young, I'm sure you'll be able to get it back in shape. As for me, I don't really see it happening lol.

Dolphingirl, it sounds like you are doing good, I'm happy for you. I didn't go for a walk in NH this weekend but took the dog to the beach this morning and had a nice walk. This was her last walk at the beach, no dogs starting tomorrow. Poor Daph!

Itsworthit, hope you are feeling better. Did you have fun cutting brush this weekend? Also do you have a black fly season in VT?

Keep up the good work everyone.

05-01-2001, 11:33 AM
Well, the job Chris got was suppose to be at a fine apparal store for men and womens fashions. They failed to tell him they owned mini marts. I was so mad when they placed him in an unsafe mini mart on the strip. We do not need money that bad that he (and my car) are unsafe.

So yesterday we hit the pavement again. I am making beaded earrings right now. They are turning out wonderfully. Thinking about making a profession out of it! :)

Well, allergies are awful. No more insurance so I am taking Benadryl when they get really bad. That works but soooo sleepppyyyyyyyyy. Well, I am only eatting small portions right now. Not too difficult in the heat. Gotta drink more water instead of lemonade. More later. Oh-I wrote Karefree a letter. Hopefully she'll write back or get on line soon.!!! flower (audri)

05-02-2001, 02:48 PM
It has been a while and there have been some changes going on here! Well, that ought to teach me to not stay away so long.

I got your card Audri. That was sweet of you. There is nothing wrong. I am not really following a plan (other than the 'see food' diet) but things are really hectic around here.

We still don't have insurance either Audri but if you have any prescriptions you might want to check out the K-Mart prescription card. I got one filled for Jesse (actually 2) the other day and they were both cheaper than when we have a c0-pay with insurance. Both of these would have been 10 dollars with ins. and one was 7.92 and the other was 5 something. You also get a 5 dollar cash card to use in the store. Email me if you are interested and I will try to find the web address.

Glad to see so many people here. I have a lot of reading to catch up on. Is the board over at the WB still active? I haven't been there either.

05-03-2001, 01:23 AM
Hi all!

Well, I had my little procedure today and it went well as far as I know. In most ways not as bad as I thought, but then this is the first day and I've been good about taking my ibuprophen!

Not much else to report...I think my good streak sort of ended somewhere in the last few days...a little nervous nibbling, but I don't have that excuse now, so there is no reason not to get back going again :D

Welcome back Kare! That K-mart pharmacy card sounds like a good deal, I'll have to look into that!

Sorry Audri to hear how Chris' job turned out. That is really cruddy...but your earrings sound great! Keep it up and make a web page and sell those things! Start thinking of a cute name for your creations!

End the week on a good note gals! :-) Katrina

05-03-2001, 08:54 PM
Well, Look what happens when I don't check in for a day! Kare Free comes back. Cool trick. Mail-glad you got the procedure done and over w/. Chris is out looking for a job and me and Grif took a 3 hour nap. Sorta makes up for his screaming all night. Our ent appointment is Wednesday. I hav't been following any diet plan. Just cutting out the extra stuff. Isn't isn't very effective tho. I taught some Mormon girls how to do floral arrangements last night. They turned out cute. The flowers that is. I probably won't see how the girls turn out! :) Well, I should figure out dinner. Low fat keilbasa + veggie bake beans and who knows what for the kids. They hate beans! audri

05-04-2001, 11:28 AM
Sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather lately, Mail Whale. Here's to hoping you are 100 percent soon. That nervous noshing can really play havoc with the diet.
I hope you are remembering to take your IB. Pain is a great reminder though.

BTW, the K-Mart Card can be downloaded off the You don't have to join or anything. I think it is on the big big deal forum. I'll look for more specific directions if anyone is interested and can't find it.It really saved us some $'s even off the co pay price of a script. There is also a place on the net that I found that has some fantastic prices but I am a little leary of getting medicine off the internet. I keep thinking I don't know where it is coming from and what if it is coming from another country....Paranoid? Probably but the medicine is for my kid and I don't like to take chances with his health. Also, if you want the card, you don't have to put in your SS# on the computer. Just print the card out blank and fill it in later.

Audri, I had to laugh at the comment about you not knowing how the Mormon girls would turn out. That was cute.

It is so nice to hear from everyone again. I am going to try to make an effort to visit more often even if I am not following a plan. Speaking of a plan, Itsworthit, did you start the WW thing? If so, how is that going?

Well, I'll try to check in later.

05-04-2001, 12:27 PM
Audri, I'm thinking of names for you...."Flower Power Beaded Creations" or "BeadGuiled"...I looked up "beguile" in the dictionary and it says to mislead by guile, deceive, to deprive of by guile :cheat. To distract the attention of :divert, to pass time pleasantly, to charm: delight. Obviously that last part is what I had in mind :D

Hey, guess what? I wrote a letter to a reporter at the paper introducing myself and my business a few weeks ago, and he called me yesterday for a phone interview and thought he could probably get the story in this weekends paper! Yea! Free press! of course, I hope it is all positive :^: Cross your fingers for me...again!

I'm really feeling pretty good health was a really good thing that I took care of it, before the procedure, the Dr. explained more specifically what was going on...and it was not pretty. The cells were not considered precancerous as yet, but they were really multiplying away and were not good.

Well, I think I better start working on yet another new "plan" lol!

05-04-2001, 02:20 PM
Hi ladies,
We've been having some pretty hot weather here this week, in the 90's for the past 3 days, going back in the 50's and 60's this weekend. I'll be going to NH for the weekend so I hope the weather will be nice, we are planning on doing some work outside.

Karefree, it's so good to hear from you again. Was wondering where you went.

Mailwahale, glad your procedure went well. Good luck with your interview.

Flower, sorry the job Chris had didn't work out.

Dolphin girl, hope you are still doing good.

Have a great weekend.

05-04-2001, 06:55 PM
Hi gals,

Things here are falling apart, litterally. We have a hole in our water pipe that leads into the house. We dug down &then turned on the water & then we had a fountain in the front yard. So it has been all day w/o water & trying to get a plumber over. I sure hope we don't have to go all weekend w/o water.

the eating is going well so I'm still doing well. It does feel good to be in control for a change.

I hope all goes well for you this weekend.

05-04-2001, 09:17 PM
I only have a second. Grif is screaming for MAMAMAMAMA! :) Anyways, Mailwhale- what do you think of Auds and Ends? Then I can sell beads, jewelry, floral, stain glass ect... Hope everyone's life gets back on track. We all sound like we can use a tune up! Audri

05-05-2001, 08:54 PM
Love it!!!! Auds and Ends :D so cute! I know in my internet website shoping that I have seen places that offer free websites for crafters to sell their stuff...I don't have a clue where, but perhaps I'll come across it again...

A friend of my moms lives in a remote part of Montana and crafts lovely stuff constantly. She sells her stuff to a craft lady that takes select stuff to shows....that way, my this friend just gets to craft away, and not worry about the selling part. I'm sure there would be lots of ways for you to do what you love and be financially rewarded for it....that's what Oprah always says!

Oh, Dolphin, I'm so sorry. Hey, did you contact the water dept? When we had a big leak at our home in everett, it was the water dept, part of the line and their responsiblity! They did the whole thing didn't cost us a cent.... Good luck, and sorry for the inconvenience! great job with your dedication of late, hope you are seeing some nice rewards at the scale for your efforts! :spin:

Well Sandy - 90 degree's...didn't you have snow not too long ago...just gonna skip from winter to summer with no spring this way!

05-06-2001, 12:30 PM
Auds & Ends sounds so fun. I love the name. I think Mailwhale has some great ideas too. You will have to look into them.

Well, my daughter & I spent all day looking for prom dresses & there aren't any out there that are modest. We are so discouraged. But we are going to get a pattern & have a friend make it now. I know she will look beautiful. It was a very long day in 3 malls though & I reallly don't like to shop that much.

It is a gorgous day here & I just got back from my walk. My hands are freezing & typing is hard, so have a good day friends & make good choices.

05-06-2001, 08:29 PM
Well, my mom loves my earrings. Mother's day came a week early. I couldn't wait any longer. She commisioned a denim blue pair. :) She wants me to sell my Grandma's watercolor paintings too. I will be calling the small business administration to see about a licence and a resale # ect. I want it legit. I have tons of ides. Gotta get a blank book to record them all. I made an anklet w/ bells last night. So cute! I am actually getting modivated. I saw a tent too but gotta make sure it's the right size. As for excersice...hum, none really. allergies still aren't being nice. I think I will have to save $ for an aqua aerobics class. My feet were swelling yesterday, guess I must turn on the a/c. Ho hum!!!! audri

05-07-2001, 01:11 PM
Audri, I LOVE the name Aud's and Ends. It is adorable!
Why are you w/0 NetZero now? Ahhhh! 10 hours a month is not enough! I sent in a check for NewZero unlimited. It was 54.95 but that is for 6 months service.

Sounds like everyone is doing good.

I am ...trying.

05-08-2001, 04:33 PM
Things have been going good around here. I got on the scale yesterday and it moved down a little for a change, that should give me incentive to be good again this week.

The weather has been nice here, a lot cooler then last week, 60's instead of 90's, quite a difference. The black flys are back in NH so that means not too much time outside there, just have to wait till the dragonflys hatch to eat the black flys.

The WB boards have been hard to post on lately. Taz has set up another board for posting for when we can't go to the WB. The addy is:
Check it out, you have to be a member of yahoo to post and use the chat room but it doesn't cost anything. The chat room is really fun, had a good time there Sunday night.

05-09-2001, 12:36 PM
I had to get a master business license from the State and that is how I pay the sales tax etc I owe. I also had to get a City business license because I operate out of my home within city limits...if I lived in the county, I wouldn't have to get that one. But that part is not too bad. The confusing parts are figuring out accounting stuff for the IRS...what is an expense, what is not. Just keep every receipt for now...much of your costs will be beneficial to your return next year.

I think I have a paid stork rental going up today - yea! for the t-ball coach, team members are chipping in. She was being induced yesterday...but I've got no word yet. Course I was induced for three days with Kayla...these things can take time!

I started some light exercise yesterday, I think I'm ready. wish I could do this without having to watch my food intake...but I must, started that again yesterday too. I'm still 10 pounds heavier than this time last year darn. But it is totally within my power to get rid of them by summer if I put my mind to it!

Hope you're all keeping your mind to it too! I hope your new ISP works out Kare and that you stay away from the flys Sandy! :D:

05-10-2001, 11:24 AM
Time for #12!
