Weight Watchers - QUEST for low point chocolate treats

OK, I admit to being a total chocoholic....
So, guys, what are the BEST chocolate low point items you can recommend. I regained a bit of weight recently, some from being on vacation and going overboard, but I recognize my "warning signs" and boredom is setting in with the "same old stuff" and I need some chocolate to "save me" from gaining weight back.
So, packaged, frozen, recipes, anything guys..... just need to be low point and yummy to satisfy the chocoholics of the world!

Hi guys!
I am trying the new "core" program that weight watchers is offering, it's making chocolate more and more hard to have without blowing my points allowance for the entire week.
I did find something "interesting".... not as decadent but still filling and gets that taste!
Make a parfait out of sugar free, fat free chocolate pudding, plain yogurt mixed with a bit of Splenda and vanilla as well as strawberries, pineapple, etc. If you want to use a few points, add come cool whip and a few mini chocolate chips and enjoy!
Not bad at all!

Hi

I'm new, so please bear with me...Keebler has some great 1 pt cookies called Chips Deluxe Carb Sensible. Peanut butter, chocolate chip, and to die for Chocolate Chocolate Chip...which taste just like brownies. They are individually wrapped - 10 to a box. Everyone in my WW group loves them.

WW for 17 weeks.

Current weight - 207.2
Goal weight - 135

I'm new to this forum too.

When I saw your question I just had to share this - the best chocolate 'fix' I've found is Nestle Eurpean Chocolate Mousse Mixes. There are 3 or 4 flavors like dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and a couple others. You can find the mix in the baking aisle of the grocery. A whole box makes four servings and is only 1 point per serving! I've checked the points multiple times because I could just never believe that it was right. And it's so easy - all you do is mix in low-fat milk and chill. It's a great dessert especially if you add some light whipped cream and a few strawberries.

This is my first week back at WW after a 3 year 'vacation'. First weigh in tomorrow night.

Personally I find a nice expensive piece (about 1"x1" square) of dark chocolate for 2 points is really satisifying and cures any 'craving' I have for it.

Somethings to try:

FF frozen chocolate fudgsicles bar (microwave 10 sec) or leave out until mooshy.
Mixed with ff cool whip & sprinkle on some nuts if you can spare the points.

2 graham chocolate waffers filled with ff cool whip (freeze them)

Also just a few baking "chocolate chips" to suck on. I find this helps.

Chocolate granola bar cut into 4 pieces then microwaved until soft. Squash down abit - makes for "cookies".

Hope this helps!

Ooooh! You guys are coming up with great ideas! I, of course, could be one to spend my entire flexpoints allowance on chocolate, though I have not!
Now, I did have a "find" today at the grocery store, 2 point chocoloate eclairs!!!! The brand name is Superior and there are five in the clear plastic bakery type package for only $1.99! Items like this are not always all over the country, they might be very local to me - but check in your local grocery for something similar. In this house, we've been big fans of the ww frozen chocolate eclairs for 3 points, but I am really scraping on flexpoints by the end of the day to "afford" 3 points, usually I want two or under point items for my dessert, and I truly save faithfully each day at least 2 points for a dessert, and it usually must be chocolate. On the new core plan, with 35 flex points a week, I dont want any dessert item to go over 2 points, if possible, as I am kind of saving them up for pizza!
At any rate, in the bakery section of my store there are now "mini eclairs" they are about the same shape and size as the ww ones are. I have an extra points finder in my purse, which I whipped out immediately and found these 130 each delites to only be 2 points each, less than the ww brand ones! I checked twice as well, as I wasn't sure that number could really be possible! Of course, I didn't compare the trans fat or that kind of thing in each, but these are truly a point less! So, I bought those, for sure. My daughter, who also goes to ww with me, was thrilled that they are here in the house and only 2 points each!
It will feel like "cheating", but it won't be!!!! Yum! I hope they are good, will let you guys know!
I will be looking for the Euorpean Mouse for sure, sounds excellent!

look at some of the low carb chocolate bars. Z bars have I think 8 grams of fiber and run 3 points for the bar, someone also recomended, although I have not looked for them yet, the carb watcher bars for 2 points. Both can be found at walmart....

Any sugar free chocolate products out there like the Jello pudding that is ff and sf????
I took plain ff yogurt and used my food processor and blended strawberries and Splenda, then I made a parfait out of the sf ff chocolate yogurt and the strawberry mixture - wasn't bad!

Our leader brought in a to die for Chocolate Pumpkin cake last week. You take any type of chocolate cake mix and a 30 oz can of pumpkin pie mix. Stir them together and cook in a bundt pan @350º for about 30 minutes. It doesn't rise very much, but it is 3 points for 1/12 of the cake. She cut them into about 1" slices (way over 1/12) and told us it was 1-1.5 points. It was super fudgy, and really decadent. Definitely chocolatey!!!!!!!

I did the above but added a 15 oz can of pumpkin and then 1/2 cup of water and filled 15 cupcakes and they are 3 pts each. They are great, to top it all off, my daughter loves to lick the bowl and since there is no egg I let her.

The ones I used are super choc. and super moist.

Miss Meringue Triple Chocolate Chip cookies: 2 points for 4 cookies
Miss Meringue Mint Chocolate Chip cookies: 2 points for 4 cookies
Healthy Choice brand fudge bars: 2 points each

that's really all I normally buy, but they all seem to do the trick!

You guys are making me hungry! Here is one of my favorites: Guilt Free Fudge Bars --in ice cream bar section. Using the points calculator they are 0 points, but I count them as 1 point.
They are excellent mixed in a bowl with a TBSP of peanut butter and a spoon of lite whip cream or cool whip.

Dream Whip 'Mousse'

2 env. Dream Whip
2 3/4 c. ff milk
2 (4 serving) pkg. Jello instant sf/ff chocolate pudding
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Prepare topping with 1 cup of the cold milk and vanilla. Whip on high speed for 2 minutes with electric mixer until light and fluffy peaks form. Add remaining milk and the pudding. Blend; then beat at high speed for 2 minutes.

This makes 4 large servings at 4pts each WORTH IT!! or you can be normal...heh and go for 8 servings at 2pts each. :)

Angie, that sound perfectly yummy! Will give it a try.
Also, those other bars we were chatting about must be Healthy Choice? Their boxes are green and white.
So bummed out today, I gained back 1.2 pounds at my ww weigh in.
No, I didn't overindulge on chocolate... did some serious damage eating out and had way too many flexpoints. I am really trying hard and these low point chocolate things will be my lifeline!

The great thing about the mousse recipe is that I make it when we have those 'pot luck' lunches at work and no one can tell that it is fat-free. I have also added in mini-marshmallows for fun and it came out like Rocky Road mousse. VERY GOOD. :):D

What is Dream whip?

derrydaughter
10-07-2004, 06:36 PM
Dream whip is a powdered product that has a similar consistency to instant pudding and handles much the same as that, basically. I have not had it in years....
It would be in the store near pudding and pie fillings.
It's a good thing to have on hand, actually, as you can whip it up (don't actually think you need to whip it?) for an improptu dessert. Lots of "old fashioned" recipes used to call for dream whip. I remember my mom using it often to make cakes, etc.

Wow! Some great ideas and recipes here. I'm printing out & taking on my next trip to the grocery.

Also wanted to let ya' all know about the WW snack cakes at Super Wal-Mart. They come in carrot cake & chocolate fudge and are only 1 point each. They are usually in the snack cake isle, at least here. I have read other posts that they are in the bakery. They aren't big, only about the size of a Twinkie. They also have blueberry muffins for 3 pts. If you go to the meetings and get the Tracker, there is always a coupon on the back for these cakes. For some people, these are a red light food, for me, they can stay in the pantry unopened for a week or more. They are good, I just prefer WW ice cream sandwiches for 2 points. These little cakes work for me when I've overdone it and need a less than 2 point dessert.

Hope this helps.

Oh! I almost forgot, Kozy Shack is also making Sugar Free (Splenda) individual pudding packs. They are not fat free, but they are only 1 point each. I think because of the little bit of fat in them, they are REALLY rich in comparison to FF. They come in chocolate, rice pudding and tapioca. I love the rice & tapioca because you can't get that FF SF from Jell-o in the mix or individual packs.

I found "Fudgesicle" brand sugar free fudgesicles to be awesome! They are only 45 calories and 1 point. They seriously taste great. With this cold weather coming in I also found a nice cup of diet hot chocolate by Swiss Miss to help with the cravings. It's made with Splenda and only 25 calories per cup!! Again 1 point, 5 calories less and it would have been 0 points because it does have a gram of fiber in it. I tried it today and it was also really good.

Great idea!
I have discovered that I can take about a half packet of Swiss Mix "diet" hot cocoa mix and blend them with ff, plain yogurt and have a really satisfying chocolate treat!
The diet hot cocoa mix is 1 point for the entire packet and the small FF plain yogurt is 2 points. I'm counting it as 2 points as I am not using the entire packet????
