LOL :D ~~~~~~~ I'll be back later to post. Bye now. :) Cal Walker 04-22-2001, 02:19 PM Hello! I'm back from cruising down the Mississippi and had a great time. I am also now addicted to bread pudding. I did pretty well and upped my activity but I am sure glad I don't weigh in until next Saturday. This is short as I also came back to 250 emails (& trashed 150 LOL) and I have to get ready for work tomorrow. Margot Karen L 04-22-2001, 07:43 PM Happy rainy Sunday to all, Checked out 3fc earlier today and no one had been there for a while. I saw that some of the conversation had been on scales. I have a Health-O-Meter digital one in my bathroom with numbers so big and bright you can see it from the street! Its pretty accurate weighs close to the one at my meeting. Although this week Tuesdays meeting the scale was being very kind. I really became very suspicious when one lady stepped on and had lost 19 pounds in one week. :nono: We had to drag out our old balanced scale to re-weigh everyone to make sure his or her weights were closer to true. What a mess. Had some new people and what they must have thought of WW . I can only imagine. Sent out some cards to apologies to them. I was so flustered over that. Then when I got home and ordered a new one they are on back order. Can you believe it! As soon as I know they are in stock I will order an extra one for back up. Believe me when I say to you I was STRESSED. :dizzy: Maria I read where you are back to just you and your husband. I know it’s always nice to have the kids home but sometimes they make me tired. How about You? Geri how was your retreat? Trudy still got your nose in a book? I know if your weather is anything like ours in a book is a good place to be plus wrapped up in a nice cozy blanket. We’ve had rain, snow and I think it’s back to rain again. And boy-o-boy is it cold out side. No doubt you all have heard about all the flooding that is going on here. My DD and her family live on the Crow Wing River But high on the bank. The lowest part is the road to get to their road and that is flooded. Or at least it was. They had to park there car on the main road and use a rowboat to get up their drive way. This year the water is only up to the car doors so they are carefully driving through it. My brother lives closer to the Mississippi. He had his boat tied to the deck just in case he needed it. Ann glad the party was ok for you. Most wives will agree that men would lose their heads if not attached. But then I’m not much better any more. I have to put my glasses hearing aids and watch in the same place all the time or there lost. How the fire still burning? Still out of control? I e-mailed Lily]/b] but got no response. Sure hope we hear from her soon. [b]Peggy do you still like your hair cut. I truly love short hair makes me feel and look younger. Welcome home Margot! Sorry Slavika some of us are a little slower than others.:dz: See you later  Karen slavika 04-23-2001, 12:10 AM  Hi Everybody Well with all the talk about corn I bought 6 cobs (not as cheap as you guys get it for) and thought that DH and I would have it for today and maybe tomorrow as well. We had our family over for steaks/baked potatoes and you guessed it, CORN . Guess who didn't get even a taste of it.... ALAS it was me. :( My grandbabies sure ate it up. That's ok though. :) Karen I have a relatively new Health O Meter scale too and so does Trudy . I was tired of that old tired thing I had that if you leaned to much one way or the other you could get almost any weight you wanted but none were ever accurate. :D I also e-mailed Lily a couple of days ago, but have not heard anything. Geez, I hope everthing is ok with her and her DH. I miss her posts. Peggy I really am not much of a gardener and every year I have to ask a million questions. I wrote the name "Vanilla Nemesia" to see if our Nursery will have it. Of course we will not be getting our plants for awhile yet. I usually plant my veg garden AFTER the May long weekend. We kind of take a chance of getting frost if we plant earlier then that, then we have to cover the poor little things up. Night all. Trudy 04-23-2001, 12:24 AM Slavika.. don't you wish we could plant our flowers earlier too? Right about now, I am planning what I am going to put in the flower beds. Hubby does the vegetables by himself. Karen... I like the big numbers on the Health-O-Meter too. I can see what I weigh without my glasses. ..Yes I am still reading  you are right about the cold crummy weather. The flooding is scary. Margot.. Good to see you back from cruising. What was the boat like... was it a paddlewheel? Well it is late, and I should get to bed. Talk to you gals tomorrow... good night  painter5 04-23-2001, 10:25 AM Slavika what would we do without you to start the new threads? Will definitely have to go check out the Health-O-Meter scale. I like the idea of having big numbers. Unless I have my glasses on I am not sure what it says and you know they might add an ounce or two. Karen what a meeting. Never thought what would happen if the meeting scale broke. I hope that there weren't too many dissappointed people. No wonder you were stressed. Yes, I love my haircut. Every once in a while I get this stupid idea to let my hair grow long enough to wear it up or in a French Braid. Needless to say it never gets there. I was wondering if you were close to the flooding. When it goes down everything is always so yucky and muddy. I have 2 watches so I can always find one because I don't always leave them in the same place. Margot I can't wait to hear about your trip. Were you on the Mississippi Queen or the Delta Queen? That's my dream trip. All this talk about corn - I have to go get some today. Will check in later, Peggy survivor 04-23-2001, 05:25 PM  I am actually trying the smilies on this one. I usually just don't want to mess with something like this, but we'll see....... My dh and I went to my nephew's little boy's baptism on Saturday evening. I was so excited because a sweet niece was there from Phoenix. She had brought her fiance. She is 36, never been married and just recently met this man who adores her, 38 and never been married. Cheri is shy, independent and we had just thought she would never find anybody. I am so happy for her. :D Other than the baptism we had a very quiet weekend. I was so lazy. We did see our kids in OKC for a little while. I bought a Tiny Town Gym from e:bay for our expected little bundle of joy. It just amazes me the kinds of things you can buy for babies now. Maria - I so thoroughly understand the relief when the kids visit and LEAVE!":dizzy: We love them to death, but it is so peaceful when they leave. It is like that with grandchildren too. Makes me wonder how I ever raised my three active little boys,:?: but I think I was younger then?:) It seems like everyday I am making my confession to you and vowing to do better. Well, I let myself get hungry Saturday and there was not one low fat thing to eat at my nephew's. One taste and I was off to the races! I VOW that this week will be good! (or rather, that I will be good!) I am just spinning my wheels! Margot - so good to hear from you! I hope you thoroughly enjoyed your trip! And that your mother did too! Did you see how much easier it was for you now that you have lost so much weight? You probably have a lot more zip to your step! Glenda Geri 04-23-2001, 07:28 PM Margot, sure are glad you are back. Now if we could just get Lily to check in. I am getting worried about her. It is not like her to be MIA for so long. I hope it is just computer problems. I have a health-o-meter balance scales. You cannot beat them for accuracy. And you don't get 3 different weights in 3 minutes. I guess the old-fashioned nurse in me prefers the traditional balance beams rather than the digitals. They just keep working and working and working. Never need a battery change, not affected by moisture or the way someone stands on them. I think they are the best buy. They cost more, but are worth the difference. This is from a woman who has worked with all kinds of scales professionally and with weight loss plans. My retreat was great. Lots of food for thought. flaggies 04-23-2001, 08:31 PM G'day all, Thanks again to Slavika for starting yet another thread, isn't it good to feel so needed ;) Margot would love to hear more about your Missisipi trip. I agree it is amazing how nice it is to be just '2' again. My children only left home about 1 year ago with lots of coming and going before that. They are both very settled and happy (thank goodness) and we really like their life partners, which also helps. I can relate to so many things in just about all of your posts, like being 'blind', deaf and a little forgetfull at times ;) The thing that bothers me most is not being able to see without reading glasses and the fact that dh's hearing is getting quite bad, or doesn't he want to hear what I am saying???? Probably a bit of both. It is quite beautiful weather here in Sydney. Yesterday I joined the city library, I just love books and really have to stop buying them. I love autobiographies and history. The selection at this library is quite extensive. The library is just across the street from where I am staying, very convenient. I can also go there and read the newspapers from my home town. On sunday we went for a walk thru the city and came across this pub where they had a small jazz band playing. The band's average age was about 60 and boy were they good. We ended up having a few more drinks then we intended, it was really enjoyable. We then 'skipped' on home humming the tunes we had just heard. We slept pretty well that night! Have a great day all Cheers Maria Trudy 04-23-2001, 08:31 PM Geri..are the balance scales the ones that have the weights that you slide ~ I think the Doc's have them? Once you digest everything you got from the Retreat, maybe there is some words of wisdom you could share with us. :^: I think that everyone wishes Lily would check in to let us know everything is A-OK with her. I sent her a greeting, and they haven't notified me that it was picked up, so maybe she took a little vacation. Glenda .. maybe you aren't doing as well as you would like to be doing with WW, but being aware and trying is a big help. When I have trouble keeping on track, as long as I am trying, and I get back to a WW meeting, I seem to keep the gain low. Just don't give up. :) Peggy .. I get that notion too let my hair grow longer. I visulize myself, with the wind gently blowing my hair, or up in some neat twist... and then reality sets in. I wake up and realize that it will take more than 10 min of my time every day. I get mine cut every 4 weeks. Karen .. with that scale being so far out, I guess some members thought they got to goal  Were many upset when they found that this wasn't the case? Slavika.. tomorrow I will be resembling a "bag lady" :o ... I already packed my tote bag with the novels you borrowed me and the Body Shop products all you gals ordered. I will be lugging 8 lbs around with me... I will come back later to see who turns up.... bye bye  flaggies 04-23-2001, 09:18 PM Yes I wish. Peggy and Trudy you have just convinced me to go and get another haircut. I also had visions of this beautiful mane of hair but it only took 50 odd years to realise that my hair is thin, mousy and in all the attempts, never grows much longer than a little way down my back. I am NOT growing it at the moment but thought I would have it a little longer than I normally have it but you guys have just convinced me to get a haircut!!! See ya all Maria Geri 04-23-2001, 09:23 PM I used to have a best friend who is a hairdresser. She firmly believed that no woman over 30 should have long hair because it ages you. I believe her. slavika 04-23-2001, 10:20 PM  Hi Everybody Geri Hi there~~~~~I don't think there is anything wrong with Lily's computer because if there was, we would still hear from her, from her office computer. I am hoping that on the spur of the moment she and DH decided to take a holiday. Maria that's me the "little old thread starter". Actually, when I think about it, I don't even know if it's necessary to start a new thread instead of continuing on with Page 2. What do you guys think? :?: By the way Maria it sounds like you had a wonderful day on Sunday. As far as DH not hearing....I think that is called, "selective hearing". I seem to have the problem in my house too. LOL :D Glenda well your similies worked out beautifully. That's nice that your neice found someone she loves and who loves her back. It's wonderful having someone special in your life. :) Trudy the "bag lady" looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. The "Princess" loved the bubble game card you sent her today and played it many times. It was nice you sent one to my grandson too, because she sure told him about the one she got. Thank you for taking the time to do "DAT". We didn't hear from Karen yet today. Maybe her WW class is holding her hostage because the scales don't work again. How is the flooding situation in your area today? It's WW and "Tea Time" tomorrow. See you then Trudy . ~~~~ Night all. Lizziepie 04-23-2001, 10:32 PM I agree about the short hair. I do enjoy my short cut, and I also am not doing a perm any more. Just the curling iron to turn the ends over, or I really would be spiked.I did give up on the orange tops to the spiked hair tho' Aren't you glad:D ! Have you tried the Kashi Krispies yet? Slavika- A question. about how many servings do you get from one recipe of the orange-pineapple punch? I tried figuring it out, but came up with something like 80 half cup servings, and feel certain that isn't right. I am no mathmatical genius. The nubers attending our Lu'au are growing. I think we will end up with about 150 people. So I want to be sure to have enough punch of both kinds. We have a strange set of scales, and there are days that I can weigh two or three different amount all in the space of a few minutes. But then it will settle down and be reasonable. This Sat. I have to weigh in and I know I am over again. My DH as to have his candy, and when he buys something that is my favorite, I get weak. I keep telling him to just get the stuff he likes, then I don't have a problem. Margot- Did you get a good taste of Dixieland jazz on your boat? We heard the Dukes of Dixieland this winter, and they are supposed to be on one of the river boats part of the season. They are sooooo good! Have to turn in early tonight. We went to a really big flea market today and spent a lot of time walking, and walking. So you know who is napping in his chair right now. Maria- A little pub with jazz sounds great. I really like good jazz, and especially when the musicians are from our era. They play the stuff we can appreciate. I don't really go for a lot of this 'New Age' stuff. Good night all. :dz: Will check in tomorrow. Ann/Lizzie Karen L 04-23-2001, 10:54 PM Slavika please continue to start new threads after at least 30. Otherwise one of us(me :o ) is going to miss out on someone's post. I always forget to go to page 2. We are lucky not to live along any river. So we are dry:D We made people happy last week by giving away lots of 2 point bars. And to those who were very unhappy we gave them a free weigh in. Ever notice how the conversation flows around here. First it was scales now it hair cuts and wondering about Lily. Then theres the hearing of a husband. Mine had his hearing checked and does have a loss. It was narrowed down to small children's voices and the voice of women. So my DH really get over on that. I still think it's selective. :?: Got to go  Karen slavika 04-24-2001, 12:46 AM Hi there Ann I checked my recipe for the Orange Pineapple Punch and it doesn't say how many it will serve. When I copied the recipe I probably forgot to make a note of it. It's an old recipe too, so I don't even know where I got it. In checking other punch recipes it looks like if the punch does NOT contain any alcohol you can estimate that 24 cups of liquid in a punch would be approx. 30 servings. If it does have alcohol.....well I guess it would depend on how many alcohol drinks each person would be likely to have and if that was the only alcohol being served. Of course saying something contains 30 servings does not mean that would serve 30 people......it could be that 5 guests might have 6 drinks each...LOL :D Sorry Ann, that's the best I could do. Hope it helps a bit. :) "See" you tomorrow. ~~~~~~Slavika. Lizziepie 04-24-2001, 09:59 AM Slavika- Thanks. I think that will help me in my calculations. I had no idea that so many people would sign up for this, so we are doing a lot more than we had intended at the beginning. Oh well. Karen- I think that all husbands have 'selective' hearing whether the Doc. says there is hearing loss or not. Just like they all have trouble finding things in the 'fridge. "See you later' Am going on a shopping spree now. Not for me, the Lu'au. Ann painter5 04-24-2001, 12:19 PM I don't know about that selective hearing thing on husbands. Mine just plain doesn't listen. He swears I didn't tell him something when I know I did. Ann I don't ever get a perm. My hair is frizz city when I have one. With this haircut I don't even have to use the curling iron. Geri is right about long hair over a certain age. It's just that every once in a while I get a wild urge. Karen I'm glad your people are happy. Good idea to give away the 2 pt bars. Glenda hang in there - you will get in the groove again. Sometimes it just longer. I also have a nephew at age 38 getting married to a teacher that is 33. Neither one of them has ever been married before either. They seem made for each other and they met on the internet. Maria the jazz band sounds like fun. You do the neatest things. Trudy my oldest son just bought me a new cassette player. The radio still worked in the old one. He was using it and dropped it in the creek when he was walking the dog. So now I have to go get some books on tape. I imagine all you girls will be smellin' good after today when you get your lotions. Till later, Peggy slavika 04-24-2001, 11:13 PM  Hi Everybody Trudy dropped my lotion off to me, and stuff for one of the other gals but ALAS she did not stay for tea. She had to go out with her DH. :( There was only one of the "regular" tea time gals here, and my friend who I went to the Casino with last Wed. We had a lot of laughs but I still missed Trudy and the other gals. I am really getting worried about Lily . I know that other gals have posted on our board in the past and have quit posting but I don't think Lily would do that. I think she enjoys posting on this board, as much as the rest of us do, and I really miss her. :( We had a really lovely spring day here today. You gals all know that I have been feeding a squirrel, I call "Sammy" since last spring. He is very big and very fat. Anyway, remember I told you my brother built "the Sammy Hut", a big box made out of wood so that his food would not get snowed on or rained on. I nailed a piece of carpet on top of the hut so that his little toes wouldn't get too cold when he eats peanuts on top of the hut. Today, I looked out my kitchen window, and there was Sammy laying on the carpet like a "bear rug", and I swear he was enjoying the sun and every once in awhile his "black little eyes" would close, and he was actually dozing like a cat would. That squirrel sure has given me a lot of enjoyment. Night all. slavika 04-24-2001, 11:23 PM Hi Everybody I don't believe it. I just checked my e-mail and there was a message from LILY . Her sister has been sick and Lily has not had a chance to post. :( LILY I'm sorry your sister is sick but I am very happy to hear from you. I hope it's not serious with your sister. "Talk" to you soon. Trudy 04-24-2001, 11:44 PM Hi gals  .. I really have to laugh at all the hubbys who have "selective hearing". I used to get so  when I would go on and on, telling my DH some absolutely fascinating story, full of humor and insight and he would say "WHAT"??. It was a while before I realized that most of us go through the same thing. That is such good news about Lily.. sorry her sister is ill though. Hopefully she will be back soon :D Slavika ... I really was looking forward to Tea Time today, but alas unable to stay. :( Next week :^: ... A sunbathing squirrel  ... what next? Peggy... I haven't had a perm in soooo long. I just use a curling iron a bit too. I have really been getting some teriffic books on tape, and they sure make the time pass while I am on some machine at the gym. Karen .. I was thinking the same thing about the conversations we all have. I think we have a lot in common, it's like we know each other well already. :) Geri.. You are right about older women and long hair, it seems to age them. When you see make overs on older women, they always cut their hair. Well my friends, it was a busy day for me, I am heading for bed. My DH & I had Doc appts today. Tomorrow is my Mom's turn. Hope you all have a great day ... good night y'all... :D painter5 04-25-2001, 10:22 AM Good Morning, I too had an e-mail from Lily. I am glad to know that she is o.k. but sorry to hear that her sister is ill. Hope that everything will turn out fine. I lost a whole pound this week. I wish it was more but I will take it. SlavikaSammy sounds like a very spoiled squirrel. They are fun to watch. I always have one stealing seed from the bird feeder. Also have a mockingbird hanging around. He is always singing. I love to hear him when I am outside. Have to run, time to take Max to the park so he will let me alone. He is a pest. Peggy flaggies 04-25-2001, 07:21 PM Firstly Slavika I am with Karen, I think we should definetly have a new thread after 1 page. I'll make a real effort to be the one to start the next and give you a well deserved rest of this onerous task ;) Attended the Anzac service yesterday on a glorious autumn morning. It was very moving and it is so good to see the young people honouring the men that went to war. I don't know about your country, but for a while it wasn't terribly fashionable to be seen at an Anzac service, mainly due to the controversy that surrounded the Vietnam war. Of course it was horrific and in my opinion wrong for us to be there, but it was something that seemed to be right in the minds of our politicians and we cannot blame our returned service men for that. Anyway 24 000 returned service men marched, you can imagene what a sight that was with all the bands etc. intermingled. In my hometown we also have the Anzac service but not on such a scale as in Sydney. Last night we went to a musical about the first Australian rock and roller. He was in the times of Bobby Rydell, Little Richard, Johnnie Ray etc.etc. etc. He died about 20 years ago. The show was just fantastic and brought back so many memories of life in the sixties. DH got quite nostalgic and even bought a box of scorched almonds :( as we would have done in the sixties! Decisions well, I had my jawline waxed once again (cream was useless) and this beautician also does tatooing, no not the heart-I love Mum type variety but cosmetic tatooing. I was thinking of eyeliner and my lips redefined. The girl showed me how it would look and it is/was very tempting but also quite pricey. Spoke to dh and he doesn't care but did point out for the same price I would be well on the way to purchasing a top of the range lap top computer!!! This little laptop is OK but I would love a more powerful one. So I think I will decide for the laptop. DH besides having the selective hearing (pleased to hear so many of you experience the same problem) is also a little blind because he never knew that I applied eyeliner!!!! As far as my lips getting quite thin etc, he never noticed that either, 'all looks fine to me'!!!!! My next decision is where to get my hair cut, I am just going to the yellow pages and tried a few of the ritzy places in Sydney and again it is not cheap (some 3 times the price that I pay at home) dh always says there is only a week between a good and a bad haircut :D I don't quite agree but 3 times my normal price is a little steep. I will have to do some more investigating. Good to know Lily is OK. Sorry to hear about her sister, hope it is nothing too serious and she will be well soon. I have waffled on long enough with all my dillemas. I guess life is not too bad if choosing which hairdresser to go to is the biggest decision I have to make today :D:D Have a great day all Cheers Maria slavika 04-25-2001, 08:04 PM  Hi Everybody Really a very beautiful day with temperatures around 77 F. First time this spring I filled the bird bath and all kinds of birdies came to drink and so did Sammy and another little squirrel (kind of a small raggedy looking one).....I make sure he gets some food too. :D I sort of hung out outside for awhile today but it is much much to early to think about planting anything. Well I guess I could "THINK" it. :smug: My DIL brought over a big bag of jeans, pj's and stuff like that, with knees worn out or whatever. I cut some into shorts and finished them off, and mended other stuff so that kept me busy for 3 hours or so. I also made some receiving blankets for a new little baby so that's done too. I am happy to see the pile of "stuff to do" is now a pile of "stuff done". :) Maria I really enjoyed reading your last post....well actually I enjoy reading all your posts but I like to know what you gals are doing or "thinking" about doing. I didn't realize that cosmetic tatooing was so expensive. I think I would settle for buying a new pencil and a lip liner. LOL I have a friend who is a hairdresser (she trained in Germany where she was born) and she talked me into having my eye lashes dyed once. My eye lashes are very dark anyway so I can't really say that it made a big difference. Your Anzac Service is much like our "Rememberance Day" which is on November 11th. That was so sweet of you to offer to start the next Thread for us, then you will truly experience what a "onerous task" it truly is. LOL LOL :D ~~~~WTG PEGGY ~~~~~~1# down, good for you. :) I hope you all had a good day today. Lily I hope your sister is feeling a little bit better, and that you are doing ok too. Trudy what kind of day did you have my friend? I'll stop by later to see if anybody else shows up. Bye for now. Trudy 04-25-2001, 09:05 PM I was on the go all day today. This morning I put on a long sleeve top with my jean skirt, and believe me, I was so hot. I think we passed by spring and went directly to summer :smoking: Slavika.. you looked so good in those jean shorts you had on yesterday, I just had to have them... so today I picked up a kind of cute pair. :s: Loved your haircut too. Speaking of hair... what do you gals think of Crystal Gale's hair? Saw her on the country network and it was down to her ankles. I really don't like it at all..... she needs a new style. Maria... I don't think I would opt for permanent eye liner or lip liner. There is no going back once you have it done.... and what if you change your mind later on? I wonder how young gals who have tattoos on their bodies are going to feel when they are our age? YIKES! My niece has a lady bug tattooed on her leg, and I really don't like it, it looks like a bruise from a short distance. Who was the Australian "rock and roller"... maybe I heard of him. The same gal who did Slavika's eyelashes did my eyebrows. Before I let my hair go natural, I tried being a blonde..... believe me.... it wasn't a pretty sight. :( .. didn't suit me at all. My hair had been very dark brown when I was younger, and my eyebrows are still dark, so I dyed them when I tried the "blonde" thing. Hi Lily... I hope all is going well with your sister and you will be able to post with us again real soon. You are missed! Peggy.. what kind of a dog is Max? How old is he? My vote is a new thread after page 1. ... and yes, I will start one too when I notice it getting too long. ;) I usually avoided starting it :o , because I have messed up 1 or 2 times in the past. Hope everyone had a great day.... bye bye  Lizziepie 04-25-2001, 11:08 PM Hi everyone- Maria- I'd go for the new laptop. That you can trade in later, but tatoos for eyeliner, etc. is there forever. I have a new one for hair color. When my grey got more than I liked I went for what I call a reverse frost. My hair color was dark brown in my youth, and so my hairdresser pulls through a cap but instead of making it light colors it my own color. So I just don't get any more grey. How about that? Lily- So sorry about your sister, but glad to know you are okay. Slavika_ Sammy sounds like a character. My daughter has a squirrel in her back yard they call Houdini, since he can hang by his back toenails to get into the bird feeder. They are fun to watch. The Luau is in the last days of planning. We are now up to 175. Alot more than I had planned on. Thank goodness I have lots of good help. Along with selective hearing, I'd like to know if your DH has a problem finding things in the refridgerator? Is that also a common trait,or just for mine? LOL Trudy- I like jeans shorts. They are so comfortable. Sometime it sure would be nice to have teatime with you gals. There is rejoicing in Florida! It is raining tonight. We need it so badly. While so many other places are flooding, we are still having fires. Prayfor us to get more rain. I may not have time to post until after the Luau, but I will read to keep up on all the happenings. When it is over and I can give a sigh of relief, I'll tell you all about it. Ann flaggies 04-25-2001, 11:33 PM Thank you all for your wisdom re my cosmetic tatooing. You have really confirmed what I already knew ;) My daughter has a butterfly on her foot tatoed, I am with you Trudy I hate it, thank goodness it is easy to hide though she says everyone just loves her butterfly, by the way this is her homepage if any of you would like to know her a bit better www.mystical-alchemey.freeservers.com, I particularly like her page about herself and also her experience in meditation. I am probably very biased :):):) Also Trudy the Australian singer was Johnny O'Keefe, I would be very surprised if you have heard of him. He is considered the Bill Haley of Australian rock and roll. He had a rather colourful life (like so many rock and roll artists) the sad part was that he was a manic depressant which of course in those days no-one understood, he drank a lot, was on drugs, had a serious car accident and when he finally started turning his life around he died of heart failure at age 42. Hair is cut since I last posted and it looks great, quite short but I am happy with it. Ann I can so relate to the need of rain in your state. My homestate (south australia) is the driest state in australia and boy whilst the sun is shining a lot, it is so nice to have RAIN and of course also reduce the chances of bushfires. Cheers, see you tomorrow Maria painter5 04-26-2001, 08:00 AM Hi, Maria I would go for the new computer. You can always buy some new cosmetics so you can change your look. Doesn't a haircut make you feel good? All this talk about tatoos. My youngest son always wanted one and we wouldn't let him until he was older. When he was 21 he came home with the {sorry Geri} Texas Longhorn on his ankle. Now he is not a little person and the tatoo has expanded as he has grown. He used to have an earring too. He had "special" dangling ones when he used to go to rock concerts. Thank goodness he grew out of that. Now he is in the physical therapy field and works with a high school as their athletic trainer. Trudy Max was his dog. My other died and sons friend thought that we needed a dog so she went to the SPCA and got Max and left him on our porch one night with some food and dish. She rang the bell and ran. My dh was at the firehouse and it was late. I answered the door and there say this pathetic looking dog looking at me. So we brought him in, called dh and woke him up. He was always at firehouse whenever there was a crisis. He worked 24 hours on and 48 hours off. Needless to say we kept the dog. Took him to the vet the next day. He had a tapeworm and they thought he had distemper. He looked so sad so we saved him. Had to have some special test that was costly. Turned out it wasn't distemper. He is a terrier mix - black. He was about 8 months old at the time. Now he is 8. When son was 25 he bought a house on the other side of town so we kept the dog. Dh is very attached to him. They are best buddys. Son now has a wife and 2 dogs. His hair is turning a little gray now. Like mine. I have the family gene that starts turning grey early like in your 20,s. I used to lighten my hair and now it is white, I think. I use Miss Clairol Champagne Blonde on it. I like it but it has been this way for many years. Even my eyebrows have gotten lighter. Glad you Canadian girls have gotten some of this warm weather. Isn't it great? Have to run, I have to take a niece out to that nursery.
