Welcome to the August edition of the Weighty Issues Thread.
We are a group of awesome women who support each other through the highs and lows of every day life--it's not just about weight loss, it's about LIFE. If you have something to say or need a shoulder to cry on, Weighty Issues is the place to be. Come on in, grab a chair and stay and chat a while. You'll be glad you did!
If you are like me and you can lose your weight only to regain it all back shortly after than we may be the group for you. I would love to learn how to manage and control my weight for the long haul.

Hi girls. I am sorry for leaving you for a while there but I am having a very hard time dealing with the fact that I let myself gain all of my weight back plus some extra again. I have been having a pity party for myself for the last few months. I know I need to just suck it up and move on and concentrate on losing it again. I want you to all know how much I love you guys and how much I really appreciate you all for being there for me.
What have I been up to? Lets see. Mickey fits right in. He is a little doll(that barks ALOT) We have a bark collar and he hates it but it does shut him up. I have tons of cute pics of him that I will try to post in a while.
We have been super busy with the business but the tourist season is almost over. Hopefully I can get all my bills paid plus save the rest of the vacation money in time for December 19.
We traded the car in on another black Durango(what can I say we love them. ) It is really nice and now we have room for the dogs in the back and the kids can actually come with us too. Who da thunk it!!!
We had a huge lobster feast this weekend. Everybody came and I ate so much food that I was physically ill.(but the food was awesome) I made an awesome dessert for it. It is called Chocolate Velvet dessert. YUM!! Julie, You get the Taste of Home magz right? It was in there.
Well, I have to eat lunch and go to work but I love you guys!!!

You are a strong person. You will and can be at a healthy weight again, do not give up!! Take it day by day, hour by hour. Thats what I do in my life. I don't want to throw religion or God on you, but the way I view life is he would not give you anything you can not handle. Start slow, you are in my thoughts. Luv ya Julie :)

Angie if it makes you feel any better, I got something funny to tell ya. Friday I went and got a hair cut. I have been going to the same person for a gazillion years, well anyway she did not have anything that day (wanted one on Friday afternoon because I was coming from another appt.) So I tried a new place and I hate it! I said keep it below the shoulders and she chopped it. It is really short. But the funny part is I pulled into the garage after my cut and my hus opened the garage door and hysterically starting laughing at me! I mean he could not even talk . I hate to say it but it kinda looks like a mullet :yikes:, not really. But I HATE it! I wonder what food makes your hair grow faster? Julie

I wanted to post this for you guys to read. Someone posted it on Petfinder and it made me cry. It is so sad.
How Could You? - http://www.crean.com/jimwillis/hcy.html
Copyright ? Jim Willis 2001, all rights reserved
When I was a puppy I entertained you with my antics and made you laugh. You called me your child and despite a number of chewed shoes and a couple of murdered throw pillows, I became your best friend. Whenever I was "bad," you'd shake your finger at me and ask "How could you?" - but then you'd relent and roll me over for a bellyrub.
My housetraining took a little longer than expected, because you were terribly busy, but we worked on that together. I remember those nights of nuzzling you in bed, listening to your confidences and secret dreams, and I believed that life could not be any more perfect. We went for long walks and runs in the park, car rides, stops for ice cream (I only got the cone because "ice cream is bad for dogs," you said), and I took long naps in the sun waiting for you to come home at the end of the day.
Gradually, you began spending more time at work and on your career, and more time searching for a human mate. I waited for you patiently, comforted you through heartbreaks and disappointments, never chided you about bad decisions, and romped with glee at your homecomings, and when you fell in love.
She, now your wife, is not a "dog person" - still I welcomed her into our home, tried to show her affection, and obeyed her. I was happy because you were happy. Then the human babies came along and I shared your excitement. I was fascinated by their pinkness, how they smelled, and I wanted to mother them, too. Only she and you worried that I might hurt them, and I spent most of my time banished to another room, or to a dog crate. Oh, how I wanted to love them, but I became a "prisoner of love."
As they began to grow, I became their friend. They clung to my fur and pulled themselves up on wobbly legs, poked fingers in my eyes, investigated my ears and gave me kisses on my nose. I loved everything about them, especially their touch - because your touch was now so infrequent - and I would have defended them with my life if need be.
I would sneak into their beds and listen to their worries and secret dreams. Together we waited for the sound of your car in the driveway. There had been a time, when others asked you if you had a dog, that you produced a photo of me from your wallet and told them stories about me. These past few years, you just answered "yes" and changed the subject. I had gone from being your dog to "just a dog," and you resented every expenditure on my behalf.
Now you have a new career opportunity in another city and you and they will be moving to an apartment that does not allow pets. You've made the right decision for your "family," but there was a time when I was your only family.
I was excited about the car ride until we arrived at the animal shelter. It smelled of dogs and cats, of fear, of hopelessness. You filled out the paperwork and said "I know you will find a good home for her." They shrugged and gave you a pained look. They understand the realities facing a middle-aged dog or cat, even one with "papers."
You had to pry your son's fingers loose from my collar as he screamed "No, Daddy! Please don't let them take my dog!" And I worried for him and what lessons you had just taught him about friendship and loyalty, about love and responsibility, and about respect for all life. You gave me a goodbye pat on the head, avoided my eyes, and politely refused to take my collar and leash with you. You had a deadline to meet and now I have one, too.
After you left, the two nice ladies said you probably knew about your upcoming move months ago and made no attempt to find me another good home. They shook their heads and asked "How could you?"
They are as attentive to us here in the shelter as their busy schedules allow. They feed us, of course, but I lost my appetite days ago. At first, whenever anyone passed my pen, I rushed to the front, hoping it was you - that you had changed your mind - that this was all a bad dream...or I hoped it would at least be someone who cared, anyone who might save me. When I realized I could not compete with the frolicking for attention of happy puppies, oblivious to their own fate, I retreated to a far corner and waited.
I heard her footsteps as she came for me at the end of the day and I padded along the aisle after her to a separate room. A blissfully quiet room. She placed me on the table, rubbed my ears and told me not to worry. My heart pounded in anticipation of what was to come, but there was also a sense of relief. The prisoner of love had run out of days. As is my nature, I was more concerned about her. The burden which she bears weighs heavily on her and I know that, the same way I knew your every mood.
She gently placed a tourniquet around my foreleg as a tear ran down her cheek. I licked her hand in the same way I used to comfort you so many years ago. She expertly slid the hypodermic needle into my vein. As I felt the sting and the cool liquid coursing through my body, I lay down sleepily, looked into her kind eyes and murmured "How could you?"
Perhaps because she understood my dogspeak, she said "I'm so sorry." She hugged me and hurriedly explained it was her job to make sure I went to a better place, where I wouldn't be ignored or abused or abandoned, or have to fend for myself - a place of love and light so very different from this earthly place. With my last bit of energy, I tried to convey to her with a thump of my tail that my "How could you?" was not meant for her. It was you, My Beloved Master, I was thinking of. I will think of you and wait for you forever.
May everyone in your life continue to show you so much loyalty.

I love you girl, don't stay away like that I get worried and chew my fake fingernails *blech*. You are a wonderful, caring, NORMAL person who has issues with weight--just like the rest of us. You and me sister, I can totally relate (with the gain/lose/gain/lose) so don't feel like you're alone. I love you guys like my sisters too, it's even better since we don't get into catfights . Your dogs are so adorable and they are so lucky to have a mom like you.
Kempy, your girls are beautiful too. I can't believe how big Rhea is already, just like big sis Echo. Woo-Hoo, how many more days of school left? Can ya count 'em on one hand yet?
Cal, we may wax and wane here but I don't think I could ever leave you guys. Sorry the school year started up so quickly for ya, but let's just work our way to the next intersession, huh? See ya @ Disney?
Julie, how rude of your husband to laugh at the new 'do. Would you like to know how much of a mean-streak I have in me? If Rick laughed at me for that reason, I'd wait until he fell asleep then shave off one of his eyebrows :s:. Well, I dunno if I'd really, but I'd seriously think about it  Hope it grows back quickly for ya. Have you seen the commercials for AI Season 4??? Can't wait for the laughs.

Noelle, that is a good idea about the eyebrow!! I had to even laugh at myself though. I ate a whole bunch of walnuts today because they are suppose to be good for your hair? I would do anything at this point to get it to grow . We did not get invited to any parties this summer, now that I look and feel like a freak hus said two of his friends are having parites, hahaha....and it will be TOM time. I just can't win. Two of the guys got into it and I mean they were yelling at each other. One of the guys is a cop so you know that he was yelling. It was a good ending to the day. I had a good laugh.
Angie I am glad that you are back too. I need to post the pics I sent to you on the site too. I love your little guys. Rebel makes me laugh every time I see him. He is just so damn cute and his facial expressions a great.
Julie eat protein and take prenatal vits. That should speed things along. I hate bad haircuts. Is it to short to pull into a ponytail. I live with one of those things.
Noelle I am almost to the single hand days and yes I am counting down. I tell everybody everyday how many days I have. It is usually accompanied by a little dance too. I should be studying right now but I took a break to say hi to you guys.
Summer I wish I could take our dogs to the tennis courts but it is sooooo hot right now we would all die form the heat. I need to get my butt moving like you though.

Anywho, whats going on today? I might take the kids to the book store or the library. Its cloudy and cold here. Can you believe August and it is in the 60's? Whats up with that. Nothing is going on here but the usual work stuff. i am keeping my eye on that second storm in the caribean. I don't want that thing messing up my vacation.
Julie I have no idea what is for dinner. We have a pretty busy week so I am trying to get things together for that. I guess whatever I can find around the house will have to work. I have to start to get a food list together for vacation. I think we are going to try to cook more than go out. Joe said he would much rather do that than worry about going out to dinner every night.
Angie I have thought about getting one of those leases for our guys but I don't think it would work to well. They try to fight for first place as it is when we go for a walk. Plus, the both kind of have their own way of doing things when we go for walks.

So glad you're back, Angie; missed you.
Kempy: Your babies are soooo cute. Ashley wants a puppy; a black puddle to be exact. We're going to try her with a small pet first like a fish, bird, or hamster. We can't have cats because I'm allergic.
Noelle: Yes!! See you at Disney. It will be so much fun and I really look forward to meeting you. I'm going to try to get my hubbie to go with us. If he does then your hubbie and mine can take the kiddos and we can have a girls night out!! :D Just keep me posted about where you will be staying.
School is going great so far. My kiddos are realizing that I mean business when it comes to following rules. Our new teacher (she is new too, just out of college) doesn't want to come down too hard on the kiddos. I told her she has to or they will walk all over her. She said it's not her style. I hope she learns quick that they do need her to be firm or they will not respect her because she'll come off as a pushover. I'm already seeing the attitudes that the kids had last year at the inner city school I taught at. I can also already identify at least 4-5 gang wannabes. It's amazing that people think that just because kids come from a higher income neighborhood there won't be the problems associated with the inner city schools. It's there, just on a smaller scale. Overall, I have some really good kids. Because the language barrier isn't there (all these kids speak English) I have some pretty proficient writers and very good readers.
Have a good night everyone.

Angie and Julie I saw some of the first trading spouses but I hated that rich lady so I stopped about half way through. I felt bad for the family she was with.
I think we are going to miss the storms. They are both going to go through one right after the other adn will be gone by Saturday so I am happy about that. Ihave no problem sitting in the room though waiting it out. I have been through enough hurricanes to not be scared anymore. It is just alot of rain to me now.
I have got so much stuff to do between now and Saturday morning. I just hope I can get it all in. To top it all off I have a test Friday too. It should be easy though. Cal, WOW gangs. That is like the only good thing about Maine. We are so far in the boonies that crime is really low. That was one thing that scared me about moving down south. Hey girls, how's everyone doing today? I've watched the first episode of Trading Spouses with the nipped/tucked "perpetually suprised looking " rich white lady. Do you think her husband did that to her? Anyway, I felt sorry for the black lady's family too. I haven't watched any of the current episodes other than passing glances but the lady trading off with the rich family didn't come off as to friendly either.
We've decided to let the office girl go...in a way it's good because her life was getting in the way WAY too much with her work, and on the other hand we're not as busy as we should be. Rick is killing himself working some major late hours just to keep everybody paid--the new guy running the van is not quite as proficient as he says he was. I've told her that I appreciated all that she's accomplished while she was here but that we've got to do what's right for business right now. It was a pretty sh*tty feeling having to let her down like that, but I'm keeping her til Friday then it's back to my lonesome again :D. I can come back here more often, just like the old days!!!!
Kempy, I'm praying the hurriancane/storm stays well below your destination. You deserve the vacation! I will be in CA the 2nd of October
thru the 7th. Can ya come out early? Doesn't Joe's mom or someone live out there?
Angie, yeah school supplies are a major expense--yikes with three kids too. My son's school wanted something ridiculous like 36 rolls of paper towels per kid (one grade only). My God! What are they supplying, the whole school instead of just the class?!?!!
Julie I wish it would cool off here, it's humid and hot. Belated congratulations on your 500th post :). How are your kiddos doing?
Cal, I can't wait for vacation either and getting to meet you. That's going to be fun.

Hey girls, finally a moment to sit down and relax. I had a visit with the accountant today for our corp. taxes so that's a load off my chest (at least until December anyway). I've been running around like crazy today, all over the island. I must've put close to 100 miles on my car today, no joke. I know that may not sound like much to you guys but here on this tiny rock in the middle of the ocean, that's like going around one and a half times. I'm not exactly OP either but the scale is staying put for now. Now w/the office girl gone I can go back to being fanatically obsessed with measuring out my cereal and milk in the morning, drinking exactly 100 oz of water and counting my points with abandon! I'm feeling goofy right now. Rick just sprang this on me that he was going to Kauai for the weekend so I just said, see ya, and dropped him off at the airport. I'm looking forward to spending some time by myself anyway.
Julie, I don't know if coffee actually speeds up metabolism but I know when I drink it (and it has to have caffiene), it makes me feel amped up so I move around a lot more + it makes me walk to the bathroom a couple of extra times , sorry if that was TMI , I only meant #1  .
Angie, Rick's b-day was on Sunday so we had Hagen-Daaz vanilla ice cream w/a Sam's club carrot cake--the cheesecake frosting was studded with crushed almonds on the sides...OMG it was so rich, and I ate it two days in a row :ink: Heck, we all need cake sometimes. Sometimes you just gotta go with the flow of things.
Cal, glad to hear the school year is starting off right and you sound like you mean business. I think it's good for kids to have a teacher that sets boundaries, those are the ones you really remember after you leave school--the ones that you actually learned from. Does Ashley have a preference to what kind of pet she would like? Michael is trying to convince me to get a poodle, since he enjoyed the one we babysat for my sister's boss for 6 weeks.
Kempy, how is your neck of the woods faring with those hurricanes? HOpe they pass by! I gotta check the news. I'm praying that it goes easy. Good luck on your test tomorrow too.

Good Morning!!! Hurricane Bonnie is coming up this way now. It sownpoured all night. The pool is overflowing Litterally. My walkway around it is a big puddle. Part of the yard that we had brought up recently washed out so we have a big hole in the driveway. I guess the heavy rain wont actually be here until tonight.
Noelle, You are one busy girl!! I hope you get a chance to relax this weekend.
Julie, Did you love the houses in Vegas? I would have been happy with any one of them. The first couples house was so UGLY!!! That lady didnt have any sense of color.
Me and Jay are going down to Southern Maine tomorrow to spend the day. We are going to the Sebago Lakes area. That is the area we wanted to move a while back because it is touristy.

Noelle that cake is making my mouth water. That kind is one of my favorites, among others . Don't worry that was not too much tmi! You can tell me anything . Enjoy your time alone. Even though you will probally miss him.

My dogs are full of **** today. I cant get them to calm down. They have been going full tilt all afternoon. They are little freaks!!! I tried to video tape them playing today so what does Candi do? She starts to hump them. GEESH!!!!
Julie, whatcha up to?
Noelle, How did work go today? Take it easy this weekend.

Angie I loved the pool too. I don't think I would ever leave that house with a pool and spa like that. The first episode the lady was kind of bossy and bit**y. I felt bad for her husband. Tonight for dinner we had salmon, baked potatoes, salad, and cauliflower. My dd ate a whole plate of buttered cauilflower and salmon. She is such a good eater. I wish ds was. I keep thinking he will grow out of it and when he is fifteen he will eat us out of house and home! Julie

We're finally getting some cooler weather. Tomorrow it's supposed to be only 99 degrees. I know, I know ONLY?? 99 degrees. The wind is blowing really hard right now. The sun screens are just rattling.
Noelle: It's funny that Michael wants a poodle. Last year for Christmas, Ashley asked Santa for a black poodle. She still wants one. Everytime she sees a poodle (especially a black one) she goes crazy. Keep me posted about where you will be staying in California. We are going to go to meet you. I'm looking forward to it.
Kempy: Enjoy your vacation. Is it this weekend that you leave? Enjoy.

Hi girls I hope everyone is having a great weekend!
Cal I am glad your cool down is there for you! A nice breeze always helps too. I love poodles. I heard the standard big size poodle is just a gentle giant. But she probally wants a small one huh?
Today I am on a cleaning frenzy. The kids are gone right now with dh so I want to get as much done as possible.
Angie hope the storms are better by you. Did you take your road trip today? I hope it was relaxing and fun for you if you did.
Kempy I hope it is going to be nice for your trip next weekend. Boy its something how strong those storms can be.
Noelle are you missing Rick? Oopps....I almost called him Ricky ! God I can't type today. Probally because I am in hurry mode. Are you having any HI feast this weekend? How are those purple potatoes anyway? Because I love sweet potatoes soooo much.
Hi Summer and Holly, I gotta run and get this darn work done, I want this place spotless. I am sick of dust ! Julie

Hey girls, just checking in tonight. Man work was a little crazy yesterday. I alotted extra time on each job and we were still running behind schedule. It was driving me nuts! If there's one thing I hate is being late. We did have a customer call in the late afternoon to say how impressed they were with the service we offered--including the appointment scheduling (me) and the way the technician handled the job. So that lifted my spirits a lot at the end of the day.
I took Michael to see the Yu-Gi-Oh movie today and got into the buttered popcorn :corn:. Then we had :jeno: for lunch :ink: I feel a little bloated right now, but it sure tasted good.
Julie, no I don't miss Rick yet (funny, his whole side of the family calls him Ricky  ) and I can talk to him on the 2-way radio on our mobile phone. He works so much on Saturday it's kinda like any other weekend . I love that I can sleep through the night too, without someone waking me up with their loud snoring! I have to pick him up from the airport tomorrow morning, I guess.... :s: I'm so terrible  You like the purple sweet potatoes? They're called Okinawan sweet potatoes. They don't cost too much here since you can usually get them about 3-4 to a bag for a few dollars. My favorite way to eat them is just to boil them until tender, then slice 'em open. Of course, the Japanese okazuyas fry them up tempura style :T
Cal, I will PM you with my info as soon as I have all my plans in order. I'm sure the date will come flying before we know it. Can't wait!! I'd love a black poodle rather than a white one. Michael was so in love with Rosie when she was here. He drew a picture of her on one of his assignments which said to draw something that was a special gift from God. I guess she made quite an impression on him. I'm sure he and Ashley will get along fine. I'd love a standard poodle too--my sis would probably freak out if I actually brought one home. (She's a poodle groomer and sees them all day, day in and day out  )
Angie, if only it were that easy to lose weight I'd be about 10 lbs lighter right now. (Haven't been getting much vegetables and fiber lately)--i know, i know, TMI for sure! Don't you just love it that friends can tell friends anything
Kempy, Summer, Holly and everyone else, stay safe out there and enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Good morning ladies! Sorry I have been MIA for so long. I have not stayed OP, but, need to get there again. This morning I am feeling kind of sick from the pizza I ate last night, so, maybe that will motivate me to eat yogurt or something better for me for breakfeast.
How is everyone?
Yesterday my dh and I were outside looking for the last rebar on our property line and I managed to injure myself. I didn't see the broken down barbed wire fence along the NW side of our property, tripped over it, and fell right onto an old rusted out farmer's plow. My dh drove me to the ER because he thought my leg was broken, but, I ended up getting a tetanus shot and vicodin for pain. Luckily it's only a contusion and abrasion. So, I guess exercise is out for at least a few days, so, I better be careful what I eat!!
I hear my kiddies, better get breakfeast before they get grumpy, lol.
I'll try to check in later!

Good Morning Ladies!
Sorry that I was MIA. I have been crazy busy - my parents anniversary, my in-laws anniversary, my younger brother left for college and a wedding. A very cool weekend but I am pooped and I was a little hungover.
This week eating was OP, and I banked calories for the weekend. Exercise was not on as point as I would of liked but exercised 4 out of 7 days for an 40 minutes to an hour.
Cal how do you like the new school? getting back into the swing of things yet? I thinks it is too cool that you get to meet Noelle.
Angie are you moving or did you decide to stay put for now? I love the pictures of the doggies!
Noelle are you searching again for a new person at work? I hope you thoroughly enjoyed your Rick free weekend. My friends just got a standard poodle - dark brown - named habibi which is Arabic for darling.
Holly Ouch  be careful! I am glad that leg is not broken!
 Kempy and Julie!
I have to go and may go to FL soon because alot of clients were effected by Charley. Say a little prayer, would you?
My plan for this week:
Sunday: Not a thing!
Monday: Walk Fenway and Aerobics with Weights :strong:
Tuesday: Massive Cleaning, Walk Fenway (weather permitting) and yoga
Wednesday: Walk Fenway, clean and Aerobics with weights
Thursday: Walk Fenway and Tennis
Friday: Walk Fenway, Clean, yoga
Saturday: Clean for a big party....

Good Morning. Not much to post because noone was here yesterday!!!!!!!
Summer, Wow you have been a busy girl!!! I dont know what I am doing. If my house sells then I am moving somewhere. I just dont know where yet. haha
Julie, Do you watch Growing up Gotti? I like the show Family Plots too on A & E. That is what I watched last night. Oh yeah, The Meet your new Mommy is on tonight right?
My diet sucks. My sis just told me about a girl that I went to high school with having stomach staping done. She has already lost 100 pounds in 5 months. I am pissed that everyone I know is losing there weight and keeping it off and I cant. I am trying but I am still eating ALOT. It is like it has overtaken my life. I am jealous I will admit it!!
Oh yeah and to add insult to injury....My daughter has been having her period. For how long I dont know because she wont tell me. She has been keeping it a secret. I found the used pads and that is how I knew. She has gone so far as to spend her own money on pads and that says alot because my kids dont buy anything on there own if they dont have to. I am upset that she felt the need to hide it from me and very concerned as to what happens when sex and drugs come into the picture. I am one scared MOM. I didnt think I was that bad of a perent but I must be if something so simple is a big secret!!
Well, I have to eat lunch and go to work. I hope someone posts today because if I have to make a trip to your houses to get you all to post I will.  That would be terrible for me since you all live in paradise. HAHA

Just comfort her, I would say. Tell her you would like to know everything that is going on in her life. I hoped I helped. It is a struggle every single day, keep trying Angie. Hey girls, when they build a bridge to Hawaii will you come? Gosh I am going mucho crazy right now, but it's all good. I can do my work in peace and not worry about having to wait for a computer to use...I just had my Kashi cereal for breakfast and am attempting to make this an OP week. It's so easy to slide back into old habits, sadly it's not so easy to get back into old clothes, eh?
Angie, wow your little girl is growing up so fast! I remember being embarrassed to tell my mom since i had all these older sisters who would tease me about everything (them d@mn b*tches! ). I remember this funny joke about a mother who went with her daughter into the delivery room and cried when the new grand-baby was born. The doctor asked if she was okay about being a new grandma, she said yes I'm fine, it's just that now I know for sure my daughter is having sex! You're a good mom, she's probably just embarrassed that you may tell the rest of the family (that was my fear anyway). Hang in there.
Julie, I'm sort of a TV junkie too but I like to watch American Chopper and Monster House and Big and all those Discovery Channel shows. Can't wait for AI to come back for season 4. I saw on the news the crazy lines for the auditions in Washington DC. Who will be the next William Hung? :jig:
Summer my heart goes out to all those in FL affected by that terrible hurricane. You always sound like you have a lot of fun with your family, that's great. I wish I got along as well with my in-laws, but I don't . Speaking of which, did I already tell you guys that Rick's other brother (the semi-normal one) was visiting from the mainland and went island-hopping to visit his dad, he paid for his brother (the loser BIL that I don't like) to go and visit but he only paid for a one-way ticket . When Rick and his other brother were getting ready to leave for the airport only then did his other brother realize that he didn't have a return flight . So as of right now, he's stranded on the other island. Nice brothers huh?
Holly, take care of yourself girl! I'm glad your leg wasn't broken and sorry for the pain you're going through. But Vicodin is great :dizzy:  I took home a lot of those samples when I used to work at the dentist's office.
Kempy where ya hiding girl? Hope you had a great weekend.
Cal, did you see that funny Staples commercial with the little girl moping around the store with a parent buying school supplies? They show the parent (or maybe grandparent?) and it was Alice Cooper w/his usual black eye makeup and messy hair. THe little girl says, "I thought you said school's out forever!" He says, "no, actually, I said "School's out for summer..." I thought that was hilarious.
Hello to everyone and have a great day. I'll try to be back later.

Thanks guys. The land we bought to put our house on had a trailer on it and one of my dads friends took the trailer for him and his girlfriend. Well about a week after they moved it they could hear meowing and there was some kittens up under the trailer in the insulation. They kept them but after we had finally got the land all set up and we were out in the feild one evening we saw a gray kitten but he wouldnt let us touch him. I put food out for him and everything. I tried for weeks to coax him onto the deck so I could grab him and get him inside. Well I got him and kept him in for a few days so he could get used to us and then we let him start to come and go in and out and he took off again. One morning I saw him and tried to pet him but he wouldnt and he was sick. Come to find out there were 2 of them. We kept them both and they were almost 6. His sis is outside sleeping in the patio chairs.
I think kittens come to us in 2's. I feel really bad he died but I know he had the best possible life he could have ever wanted.

Julie, if I could plan my own becoming a woman party I'd have lots of chocolate and salty peanuts .
I don't know how or why, but I screwed up my foot. I was having a bit of a twinge of in the lower arch of my left foot for a while (months), then all of a sudden the pain moved right into the middle of my heel. It hurts like a s.o.b. when I first wake up and get out of bed--the tile floor is killing me--but if I walk on a plush carpet, no problem. Surfing the net I have come to the self-diagnosed conclusion of plantar fasciitis. The causes could be from overwork (too much walking?, highly unlikely), or being overweight,. Anyway, the "cures" are to lose weight! OK, if I can't walk on it too much, I'm not losing weight anytime fast...oh wait, that was my excuse for the past 2 years . Anyway, I'm done whining about it for now. Just suck it up and hobble forward. Gosh am I feeling my age or what?
Hello to Kempy, Holly, Summer, Cal and all . Gotta get some work done, I'll be back later.

Noelle, I have the same problem. It does go away when I lose weight but we all see how long that lasts. Mine has been killing me for a while now too. Mine is only on my right foot but that is the leg that I usually put all of my weight on while I work and stuff.
GEMonster

You can also get it relieved by getting it taped a certain way (Athlete's get it alot) or getting an arch support which causes the plantar (the layer between muscle and skin) not to be so tight. Weight loss also can help alot

Good Evening Girls
Noelle, I don't know if I have the same thing, Summer you might know what this is, but the bone like under your toes, mine constantly cracks in the middle, it actually feels like a stress fracture? Me, you, and Angie need to sit on the beach with one leg up in the air and a hand holding a drink :D, sound like a plan ? No though really I hope it feels better for you. I attribute mine to walking in the house with socks on all day and no support? I agree too, how can you excercise when your foot hurts like ****? Mine gets better when I don't walk on it as much, which is darn near impossible with the kiddos, or wearing good shoes. Go out and get yourself a good pair of comfy shoes girl!
Angie, how are you feeling? I know those animals are like kids to ya, okay I don't want to make you cry here! I was totally a pig at supper tonight. Angie: I'm sorry to hear about your kittie. Lots of hugs to you. What grade is your daughter in? I'm guessing about 5th or 6th? I remember when I taught 5th grade there was one girl who had started, but she didn't tell her mom; she told me and asked me not to tell anyone because she was so embarrassed. She was a really sweet girl, but she said that she could talk to her mom about everthing except THAT!! Just do your best to keep the lines of communication open and she'll confide in you.

Cal, Brit is actually going into the 7th grade next week. I have talked with Alicia(one of the twins) and she will be going into 6th grade this year and she has promised to tell me.
Thanks for the concern for shadow guys. I really appreciate it. it is sad for me but I also kinda expect it with the cats because they are outside cats too. I have lost a few cats over the years to Fox or cars but I am one who doesnt like to keep them inside either. We live in a rural area and have always let our cats come and go as they please. I know they have all the best vet care, love, and Food that they would ever want so it makes it alot easier. I know he was a happy loved boy. The kids are going to paint him a headstone when they finally come home. So that is sweet and helps them to remember him.
Julie, Dont feel bad for pigging out. I made scrambled eggs with what else but eggs, bacon and CHEESE with toast for supper last night. It was awesome. I watched the Newlyweds too. Doesnt she just lipsync like Brittney Spears too?
Kempy, I guess you are on vacation so I hope you are having an awesome time girl. If you arent on vacation and you are down in the dumps then please come back to us and we can all talk. You are always there for me.
Noelle, Do you notice that your heel is worse if you have been sitting and get up then you hobble? Mine is always worse especially when I take my shoes off.
Cal, My kids start school on Thursday. I cant wait. Plus my wedding anniversary is on Wednesday. 14 years with my great guy!!! Gotta love him.

Yet another crazy day here. Every time I try and do some work I get interrupted by the phone. I swear I hate to deal with people. If could just hole up in here and do my paperwork than I would be happy.
My son has a daily calendar in his homework folder and he gets a happy face stamp on it if all goes well during the day. Yesterday I picked him up and checked his folder and there was an "X" on the Wednesday slot with a notation that he was playing around in church and not following directions. (They have a sort of point system whereby all students names are listed as a monkey on a tree, if they misbehave too much, the monkey falls off the tree for the day  ) Well, when I asked him if his monkey fell off the tree, he replied by saying "wait, let me think. Noah was playing around too!". So I guess the answer was yes, the monkey fell off, but he couldn't or wouldn't make that admission to me. What a stinker! I had to remind him to be a good little catholic boy and follow like a sheep :s: Hopefully today goes better because they have a PTG meeting tonight.
Cal you will find me @ Disney wearing an obnoxiously loud Hawaiian print shirt  NOT!
Gotta run for now, be back later.

It said my browser settings were wrong and the whole thing keeps locking up and you know when you get so many pages it will say MSN 5 etc at the bottom of the screen well mine keeps climbing to 50 and higher and I click close the group and it will just keep climbing until I shut the computer off.

Okay Angie real quick reply here, hus said to do this: go to tools, on the top bar, click on internet options, under the general tab, see that part that says temporary internet files, click on settings, and move the little tab to increase the amount of disk space to use. see if that helps.
Anyway girls hows it going, sorry I did not get a chance to post until tonight, crazy day. Feeling kind of down too. Maybe I just realize that my ds is growing up so fast. I don't know why it gets to me so bad. Maybe because my childhood was not great at all and I just want to be the best mom I can be? I don't know. Sorry for complaining.
Noelle you mean you don't wear the Bold patterened shirts there? Or is that just for tourists? If I ever get out by you baby I am going to go all floral prints!! Or will I look like a dork ;)? I really hope someday we all can take a family vacation there.
Okay well goodnight, Kempy must be on vacation? Hi Summer, Cal, and Holly.

Good Afternoon if anyone is out there :?: :D????
I have been pretty busy today with appts. this am and Walmart and groceries today to put all that junk away. I shouldn't say junk I am thankful I have the resources to buy. Where is everyone? Are we ever going to get this board hopping again ? I am going to work around the house this afternoon and for dinner its going to be homemade coleslaw, veggies, teryaki ginger salmon and potatoes. I can't wait. I could eat the whole darn house down. Hus bought cupcakes with whipped buttercream icing. Ugh, more temptation. I will resist though. I have to put it in my head, they are for him and the kids. Well hope to see someone post this weekend. Miss ya all. Check in later. Julie

Hey Julie, I bet you thought no one would show huh? Well, I'm here at work busy as a bee... I keep meaning to come here and post but I keep getting interrupted! Anyway, it's a state/city holiday here (Admissions day), Hawaii is now officially 45 years old as a state of the Union of the United States of America. Kids don't have any school but work goes on as usual. Any plans for the weekend? Rick is working so I guess I won't see him til the evening. I may take Michael to see the new Benji movie, did ya see the commercial? I loved Benji when I was kid (30 years ago  ). This one is a remake (of course! what would Benji be now, like 300 in dog years?  ) and the dog looks similar to the original, but not quite. It's something to do anyway.
Mmmmm, your salmon sounds delicious!!! If we don't go out this weekend I may throw that together and grill it outside. Thanks for the idea.
Angie, sorry about your computer! I hate dealing with stuff like that. Hope to see you up and running again soon.
How's everyone else doing today? Oh yeah, I've been wearing my clunky Dr. Scholl's sandals the past few days the help my foot/heel pain and after 2 days of wearing them, the pain wasn't so bad this morning when I woke up. I guess supportive shoes do help! Hope it goes away soon.
Anyway, hope everyone has a good night and great weekend. Check in tomorrow, ya hear???

Hi guys. I have it fixed enough to run. My Verizon sight gave me a fix and all is well for now. Now if I would just pay someone to get my Antivirus running right.
OOOh a Benji movie.. I would like that. Did you guys ever read the book Scruffy by Jack Stonely when you were little. It is about a dog getting left behind by her owners and having puppies alone etc. It is the saddest book. I am trying to find it to buy for the kids to read.

Angie, I don't remember that story but I will look for it in the library. I'm supposed to be reading a story a day to Mike for homework. If you can't find the book locally you can try ebay's half.com. I saw it there for about $11 new or as low as $.96 used! happy shopping!

Hi everyone,
The weather is getting a little better here; for now anyway. The kiddos are finally starting to get settled in at school. I'm so tired tonight. I'm very happy that I don't have to set the alarm tonight. It will be nice to sleep in even if it is only a little.
I've thought about taking Ashley to see the Benji movie also. Tomorrow, though, she is cleaning her room and we're cleaning house because she's having a sleepover here tomorrow night. Just what I need, a house full of 6 year olds. :dizzy:  It will be fun. They want to sleep downstairs so I can have peace and quiet upstairs. NOT!!!!!
Noelle: Arizona's birthday is on Valentine's Day. We don't have any time off for that. I guess the powers that be figure that since we're 92 years old we don't need anymore parties. Of course, that will probably change when we turn 100.
Angie: I'm glad you got your computer working. When did you say your kids go back to school? We start our fall break the first of October. I guess that's about 6 more weeks.
Julie: I usually can't go online during the day because I'm at school. Today was picture day and the kids were all in their "civies". They usually wear uniforms. It was a nice change today.
Hello to Kempy, Holly, and Summer. Hope you girls can come out and play soon.

Good weekend yall!!!!
I went and bought some hardwood laminate floor this weekend. YEAH!!! :cheer: I can finally rip the gross old carpet up in the livingroom and dining room!!! I hate carpet!!!!! Now hopefully we can lay it all down ourself and not screw it up to bad. It is the floating floor so it should be pretty easy to do other than the angle cuts.
Then I went and bought some shelves for the twins bedroom closet and I took the wardrobe closet apart and tossed it in the trash. That of course left room for their bunkbeds to come apart and they are both on the floor now. Corey was sick of being up by the ceiling. I then put a desk in there and put his lava lamp on it with their stereo on the floor under it with the speakers in a tower. It looks really nice now. Now if I would take the pink and unicorns off the wall for him.
Now tonight I get to empy the livingroom and take the furniture out. Where I will put that all while we lay the floor I dont know.
I went to Taco Bell yesterday and got some chalupas(MY FAV) and a chicken quesadillia(sp) for us to split. That was so GOOD!!! It has a spicy sauce on it that they dont show on the commercial.
Cal, The kids first day of school is on Thursday. :cheer: How did your sleepover go?

Good morning...afternoon..whatever it is- Hi! :coffee:
threw a party last night and I am a little tired. Last person left at 2:30am. Luckily my DH was on the ball and helping me to clean as the night went on so it did not take forever.
I was eating LOTS of strawberries and dipping them in chocolate fondue with Kahlua! ;) and Margaritas to wash it down!
Crazy with work this week so I apologize for not checking in as much as I should. I am getting a newer computer so I may have to be offline for a couple days while I synch it up.
I have my appointment with a nutritionsist tomorrow! :crossed:
I hope whoever went to the Benji movie liked it!
Julie has your ds started school yet?
Noelle I love the monkey in tree for tracking...maybe I would of paid more attention if the teacher was more creative like that  I hope work is okay.
Angie you sound busy with the home improvement! Good for you and good luck with the floor!
Cal I hope school is going wonderfully for both you and Ashley. I hope the sleepover was a success too! It is hard to think of fall break yet because school does not begin until Sept 8 here.
 Holly and Kempy!
off to play Tennis!

I don't know why I kept eating that darn cake because halfway through I was already full! :ink: :ink: :ink: Well, that should hold me through more than lunch time. I had a pretty good weekend, Saturday we went to see the Benji movie which was cute. Yesterday I went to a luau celebrating the grand opening of one of our local newspaper's new press facilities. That's the newspaper my sis and BIL work at. Yes Angie, there was that roast pig--several of them. You would've loved it. Good food, beautiful weather. Then we went home and I took a nap.
Kempy, welcome back from vacation! I agree with the girls, you look wonderful. THe water looks good too. Hmm, you naughty girl, how did you discover my secret of visiting Disney? OMG that was too much. I'm gonna go looking for that man!
Summer, your party sounded great. Chocolate + Kahlua+ Strawberries :cloud9:
Angie you could be our very own Debbie Travis, you are one handy lady. I don't think I would ever attempt redoing the floor myself--I thought painting the walls was difficult enough . I just sit back and point my finger and tell Rick what to do , oh wait, that's just a regular day here. I am VERY good at demolition though. Can't wait to see the end results, I'm sure your place will look awesome.

Noelle don't you love that pic? I wish I could have been there to party down with ya. I had a good time this past week with that though. Joe's b-day was last Wednesday so we had to go celebrate that and I think we did a pretty good job doing it.

Good Morning Girls
I am dreaming of cream cheese and rasberry stuffed french toast right now with lots of butter and syrup. I have pms so bad. And there is a darn fly right now flying around I have been trying to catch because the kids are scared of it. I can not get to it because it is in the vaulted part of our ceiling. I have a net, if anyone one saw me they would think I was crazy . I hate flys more than spiders!! They are such a pain to catch!! End of rant, sorry.
Kempy sounds like Joe is a really good handy man. Mine is pretty good. I don't think I would marry a guy unless he had some handy skills in him . Because I am just not into fixing things, or catching flies, lol. I was j/k about the football game :p. I hope you know I was joking with ya.
Noelle I would love a latte right now to get me going. Did you stop and get one yet? How about the coffee cake? You have tried kashi cereal right? I bought a box, how do you like it? I have not tried mine yet. But it is those darn carbs I am trying to watch right now too. I wish hus was off to make me a bacon and cheese stuffed omlette. Okay I know I am killing you guys with the food talk. I will shut up now.

Angie we are putting down laminete (sp) it is by a compnay named Shaw and I love the way it looks. It has kind of deep grooves to make it look more like real wood. We got a really good deal on it b/c the girl quote us the wrong price. We went hom edid all the measurements and them went back with the total dollar amount that it was supposed to be. The owner said well since she told you that I am going to give it to you. It is supposed to be $3.49/sq. foot but we got it for $2.99. Much better price. Since he did that we are going to let him re-install the carpet in the bedrooms. That will be a little while though.
Julie did you catch the fly yet? I can't say they scare me but they do bother the heck out of me. The dogs try to catch them when they are in the house. We had a HUGE spider on the floor last night. I threw a magazine on top of him and I still got the heebies!
melekalikimaka
08-24-2004, 04:42 PM
Hey girls. *shudder* Kempy, spiders give me the heebies too . This morning I went into the other office to put some things away and as I grabbed the doorknob I felt something in my hand...then I look on the floor and there was a spider with some 3" legs *shudder*. Yuck! I'm still getting the shakes, it's sooooo gross. I know spiders are basically good with catching bugs and things, but I can't I believe I touched one with my hands, yuck!!!!! I loved Charlotte's Web though. I hate flying roaches too. I don't like much ants in the house either. Sorry to start this post off complaining about bugs :^:
Angie, your floor looks great. You guys are so handy. Was that laminate the type you snap together w/out glue? It's really pretty.
Julie, yes I did have another latte this morning. No coffee cake though. I'm dreaming of lunch and it's only 9:30 here. I do eat Kashi cereal. I usually get the Go Lean Crunch (sort of like a cross between granola and sugar smacks  ) or the Cinna-Raisin crunch. I'm really suprised but the high fiber content does keep me full til lunchtime--and that's actually eating a one-serving size of 3/4 -- 1 cup w/skim milk.
Cal, I will PM you when I remember to bring my itinerary to work w/me. Michael earned a free-dress day at school today since I took the time to go to the PTG meeting, he was really happy about that. It's weird seeing some kids in full uniform and the others wearing shorts and t-shirts.
Holly, how's your leg doing? Hope you're healing up quick.
Summer, you're lucky your hubby helps you clean up after a party. Mine's the one who makes the biggest mess. He can keep his workshop in tip-top shape but the house? Forget it. Gotta love 'em anyway though.
So is anyone watching the Olympics? I love watching the men's and women's (but mostly men's  ) gymnastics. I sit on the couch with this orthopedic boot/splint thing on my foot at night to help my heel, and I'm amazed that anyone's body can take all the running and jumping and twisting... Well, gotta get back to work for now. Take it easy and have a great day.

Take it from somebody who has left jobs before -
Say thank you for the opportunity but there is something you cannot pass up
Give at least two weeks notice or look at your contract to see what the stipulations are. Offer to be a part of training the new hire or whoever takes your place.
It's good not to burn bridges. Good luck - saying a quick prayer for you :luck:

Trust me I don't want to burn bridges. This town is too small to do that. Everybody knows everything about everybody. I am planning on giving him until the end of Sept. and I will train someone. That isn't a problem. The only thing that I am worried about is if he starts to talk about me. He has been known to do that with past employees. Like calling them losers b/c they left or trying to make them out to be the bad one. I don't want that to happen to me.
I just ordered the new Billy Blanks DVD's. Have any of you guys tried any of his stuff. I never got on the bandwagon but I think I need to get a few videos. I mean, I wont be working in a gym much longer so I wont have free access. Not that I use it! :^:
What is going on with all of you guys today?

Good Afternoon Ladies!
Computer stuff will be ongoing all week so I am posting while I have a chance.
I went to the nutrionist on Monday and it was good. She said I was eating pretty healthy but not good enough (obviously). She was surprised that I needed someone to talk to because I don't look overweight but after weighing myself :p and looking at my diet she assessed me and my habits. She said with my body shape (when I gain it all goes to the middle) and my height 5'2" that I should lower my carb intake and increase my veggies and protein. This is not eliminate carbs like Atkins are go on strict 2 week phase like south beach just lower the carb intake to 75- 100g/ day - 75 preferably...I was easily doing twice that :yikes: and she told me to get chelated calcium magnesium supplements to go along with my multi-vitamin and add some falx seed oil (tastes awful!) as well. I go back for a check up in two weeks. So I feel better that it is not full elimination - just a cut back. She also recommended trying pilates more often along with the exercise that I am doing
Kempy don't worry about the things you cannot control. If people know you they will know better than to listen to him. ;) You can't stay just because you are wondering if he will say anything.
Noelle I like the gymnastics and I love the swimming and diving because I used to that for 16 years. The Beach volley ball is cool too because it makes me feel all summery season like (no pun intended) how is your foot?
Angie good luck with the floor! :Bravo: and Happy Anniversary to you and Jay.
Julie I hope all is well with you and that you are having an amazing dinner!
 hi to holly!
I am back to work...

Good Afternoon Girls
Summer the nutritionist sounds really informative and good. I know when I limit my carbs I feel better, like cut out eating tons of sugar, and having 3-4 servings of white pasta instead of one serving of the wheat variety. This week I have been trying to do the two week phase of sbd, and it is a killer for me. I have pms so this was not a good week for it. But we are invited somewhere this weekend and I was hoping to lose a few pounds. Btw I love your quote of the day, it is true. Good luck on the new program, I can't believe how many carbs are in something when I look at the nutritional info. I could eat my entire daily amount in one bite or one meal of the day.
Angie Happy Anniversary :hat: :balloons: :cofdate: :cheer:!!!! I am happy for you, how sweet of Brit to get you a present. I hope the kids have a great day tomorrow.
Kempy, I always hated giving my "2 week notice". But I think you willing to train someone and giving him that long of a notice is great. He better not call you names after you leave !!
Well Kids are calling again. Everytime I sit down at this darn computer they need or want something. End of BIT**ING, haha!!!! I have to plan supper too. Life, huh, busy busy busy. Check back later. Julie

Summer quick question for ya, I know you are busy so whenever you have time to answer is fine. Do you count Net Carbs, like subtracting the fiber in a food and then calculate the carbohydrate? Did she mention anything like that? Okay thanks :). Julie
Hi everyone out there :dizzy:!!
GEMonster
08-25-2004, 06:28 PM
She said count the carbs as a whole including Fiber (gross carbs) and then if you know that the fiber is of the insolubale variety then can subtract and say they are net carbs.

Hey guys, We almost have the floor all done. I will be glad to get it done so I can clean all the dust out of my kitchen. Kempy, Are you and Joe laying your floor yourselves or having someone do it?
Jays cousin passed away today from cancer. She had breast cancer like 10 years ago and they thought they got it all so she was okay and then it came back like 3 years ago. At that time they gave her a few months to live and she lived for 3 more years. It is so sad. She has 2 grown kids and one 8 year old son. His birthday is in a few weeks. She is only a couple years older than us. At least she isnt in any more pain. I didnt know her very well. I had only met her a couple of times but I still am so sad for her kids and husband. Her Dad is in bad shape and the family thinks this will kill him.

Just enough time for a quickie...
Angie, congrats to you and Jay and your happy 14 years together! :dancer:  :hat: Hmmm, was there a Freudian slip in there about getting laid on the floor? Just kidding. I'm so sorry to hear about Jay's cousin. Man, she's gone too soon. Hugs and prayers will be sent for you and her family.
Kempy, all along when I was plotting to leave my previous employer (notice I said "plotting"? ) I kept dropping not so subtle hints about quitting. THen one day I typed up a resignation letter and sat down and had a little chat with him. I did what Summer said about thanking him for allowing me the opportunity to learn and grow and :blah: but in the end I said I had to go and do what was in my best interest. It was sad, but exhilirating at the same time. We both cried, how corny is that? He didn't even look at me or say anything for the longest time, it was kind of uncomfortable, like I betrayed him or something? WTF? Anyway, just be up front about your needs and I'm sure he'll get over it. They always hate losing the GOOD employees.
Summer, wow that's cool that you can swim and dive. Me? I hate the sound of water rushing into my ears . Isn't it great when you go to a doctor visit and they don't crush your ego with stuff like, you need to lose weight and you should stop doing this and that... you sound like you're on a good path and that should go hand in hand w/all that exercising you're already doing. GOod job girl, I like the positive vibes coming from you.
Hey Julie and Holly and Cal  Hope you guys are having a good evening. I gotta run and get out of this office. See you all tomorrow.

Howdie Girls
So sorry Angie to hear about Jay's cousin. Gosh, how sad, I feel so bad for her kids. I think if anything would ever happen like that to me I would just literally mourn for my children. Hugs, it really makes you think that life is short so enjoy it, savor it, and fill it with people you love. So how quiet is your house today ? How did the kids get off to school, were they nervous? Can you believe how fast the summer went by. The weather here has been terrible this summer. Cold, and it has been raining all week, oh well. Thats WI for ya. Well I bet you can get more work done with the kiddos being in school now. Don't work to hard though. How are the new floors working out, are you going to get some area rugs? I think they are beautiful. I want to show hus the pics, because I want some of that flooring in here. Easy clean up, carpeting if the kids spill which they do all the time is a mess. And that floor you could just mop right up. Do you have to use a special cleaner on it?
Bye Kempy, I hope you get a chance to check in this weekend. I miss ya every weekend. But I know you are going to be busy with school and home renovations this weekend. So have a good one. Maybe make it a little party for you and Joe with margaritas or something, or maybe not huh, things may take longer .
Noelle I meet my ds preschool teacher soon, I will let you know how that goes. I am so nervous. God, I wish I could control my nerves and not get worked up .

She eats 14,000 calories a day and a drink before bed that has 3500 calories in it. I couldn't believe it. And all of us work so hard to maintain or lose. Julie

Good morning/afternoon ladies. Hey Julie I didn't catch that segment on ET, I think I was watching the Olympics or helping Michael w/his homework. That's totally crazy to want to weigh that much on purpose. I wonder if she'll ever reach that goal or she'll probably die trying to get there. I have no ideas about blackberries. They don't grow here, that I know of. I am so not that domestic, I did make an apple pie once, with a lattice crust. It took me forever and it wasn't even that good . I love the smell of baking goodies though.
I have a PMS headache right about now. My foot is starting to feel better after wearing that brace thing at night, I hope it improves 100% before I go on vacation :crossed:. Anyway, it's a busy morning here so I better get going. Be back later. Hello to all!

Ugh I almost forgot... Rick's brother managed to come home(?) last night. (Does it count as coming home if you don't have one? :s: ) I guess his dad had to pay his airfare to get him to leave or else he would've been mooching off of them for who knows how long. I'm rotten I know. He shows up here at the shop this morning to go digging through his meager possessions that are stored here, but what I really think he wanted was to raid my refrigerator and to cockroach some company shirts. I think Rick gave him a couple of more shirts. What does he think? Those things are free?!? :censored: Oh well, I managed to bite my tongue about it while he was here, so I'm sorry I gotta b*tch about it here  Gawd! 38 freakin' years old and such a loser! Wait! Not quite end of rant. Did I tell you guys that Rick's sister was crying to him about her electricity being turned off? So here she is with her own rental apartment and she finally gets custody of her 2 kids back from the state, then she can't get any utilities in her own name due to bad credit. The resident manager or landlord agreed to help her out the first month or two by keeping the utilities on in at the building's expense, and she was paying the manager directly. Well, the 2 months are up and the manager went and canceled the service assuming she had gotten things lined up in her own name. But did she? no. How typical! Now she's calling Rick screaming about the manager and what he did to her, etc etc and can Rick pay for her electric hookup? Why is it that these lame people always portray themselves as the victim??? Ugh, I can't stand my in-laws, yuck yuck yuck. I can understand if you guys get tired of listening to me complain and want to kick me off this thread . OK, for real, I'll stop now. Thanks for letting me vent!

Hi everyone!
Tgif. I hope everyone is having a nice Friday. Pretty slow here today, everyone must be busy as a bee. I did pretty good staying OP this week. All I have had today is a banana. I have an upset stomach and a darn migraine. I feel better after eating the banana though. Anyway....I hope everyone has a nice weekend. We might go to a party I am not sure which day I have to ask hus, we'll see. It will probally get rained out ! We have been having alot of rain here this week. Last night I was laying in bed until 2am listening to the thunder. It felt like the whole house was shaking. So I did not get much sleep but hus is off today so he let me sleep in, what a sweetie, I really needed it today.
Noelle last night was ds parent orientation for p-k. I just feel so sad he is growing so fast. But the teachers seemed pretty nice. Next week is orientation with him. So we will see how he reacts. Are you and Rick going to get anytime together this weekend? You poor things have been so busy. I hope you get to relax a bit. Put your feet up so they can heal and have a tropical drink for me!
Kempy I hope your floors turn out beautiful for you this weekend. Don't work to hard.
Angie are you guys going to Jay's cousins funeral. Boy that is going to be a sad one. I bet there won't be a dry eye there. Take care. I hope you can post with me this weekend. Miss ya.
Summer how is the new plan going? Isn't hard to remember everything you need from the grocery store? We did our shopping today and forgot like 3 or 4 things. Oh well just get my butt or hubby's back there.
Cal I hope you had a nice week at school. How is Ashley liking first grade. I bet she feels like a big girl now, huh?
Holly hi out there! Are you going back to work or babysitting yet? I hope everything is going well with you.
Well gotta run girls. I will check back later to see if anyone popped in. Julie

Hey Julie, I guess it's you and me to keep this board alive :). I read your post about your son's orientation. I totally understand about being sad that your baby is growing so fast. I can laugh about myself now, about how I got teary-eyed on the second day of preschool when Michael cried--he realized that we were leaving him there alone, again! The first day I don't think he knew what was going on yet and he just let us leave without throwing a fit. They adjust just fine though. They'll love the new experience and all the "new" toys and books to look at. Would you believe that I was getting teary-eyed at the PTG meeting last week, when the entire school was singing a fun song, a song that Michael loves to sing while at home. I don't know I get so emotional about stuff like that, it's silly . But I just wanted you to know I understand :^:. Good job on staying OP this week, I had some Pizza hut pizza last night :ink:, got home late and Rick called the delivery man... oh well.
That PMS headache I had yesterday all day (that wouldn't go away even with 2 doses of Advil) was finally relieved when TOM arrived. Right on schedule . It's good to be regular at something, I guess. Sorry if TMI.
We're like sisters here after all. Speaking of sisters, I ran into this old girlfriend of mine from high school at the grocery store yesterday. She was actually my sister's classmate but she and I and another friend used to be in a heavy metal band together  I know, you can laugh if you can imagine it. She and I used to play our electric guitars, my other GF played bass and we had this guy classmate that was a really good drummer that we used to practice with--but we wouldn't actually let him be in our "band" since we wanted to be an all-girl band. Oh man, she and I were reminiscing about the good old days and laughing our heads off--all outside the local grocery store .
Well I gotta get back to work. Hello to everyone out there. Come out and post! This means you Angie, Kempy, Cal, Holly and Summer :D

The program is okay. I am taking one day a week to eat what I want though as long as I am good for the week. If I forget food at the grocery store I just go to the farmer's market or the whole foods shop down the street.
I am actually working because I just got 8 new bank systems as clients and I want to make sure I know them as wellas possible by Monday...oi! I am going to the Irish festival tonight!

Hi Everyone,
I have been really busy this week. We are getting ready to send out progress reports next week. I can't believe that the first quarter is half over already. We've been having soooo many meetings; it's really tiring. Ashley is finally getting settle into 1st grade. She complains about the work, but her teacher said that she's one of the best in the class.
Ashley's sleepover last weekend was fun. They were asleep before 9pm. :D They really had fun.
I've been feeling so tired lately. I get up around 5:30 every morning and I'm falling asleep on the sofa by 8pm. I'm thinking I may have to see my doctor because I've been feeling so tired for about 2 weeks now. Also, when I wake up my eyes are always swollen and this morning not only were my eyes swollen, but my whole face was swollen. It lasted about 2 hours. I don't know if it's allergies or what. I tried to call my sister, who's a registered nurse, but she's out of town until tomorrow. I guess I'll have to wait to find out what's going on. I also haven't had TOM since June; sorry if that's TMI. No chance that I'm pregnant, either. I told my husband that maybe it's my age. I will be 46 in December. I do get hot easily and in Phoenix in summer that's not too hard to do.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Good Morning.
The funeral was so SAD!!! Oh my god, I have never cried so much in my life. The only funeral I have ever been to was my grandmas but she was cremated so we just had her buried. There wasnt half the stuff that this funeral did. I lost it wehn we got inside. Her son wrote I love you mom on the inside of her casket lid. Then the songs they played were heart wrenching. The kids played a song that said Tell Lori I love her. The last song they played was from her husband to her and he got up and knelt by her casket during the whole song. I think everyone in the church cried during that. It is tragic.
My eyes were so screwed up for the rest of the day. I had to keep taking my contacts out and rinsing them just to be able to see clearly.
Not much going on here. How was everyone elses weekend.

Angie I am so sad for her family, it must just have been heart breaking to see her son and husband. God I it really think sometimes what "if" it was me or hus. The HARDEST part for me would be leaving my kids. You must be emotionally exhausted from yesterday. Hugs to you :grouphug:and your family. I just hate funerals. Hubby's uncle died so we have a funeral this week. I really did not know him well but still funerals are so hard for me.
Cal I hope you feel better. Maybe you should call the doctor?
Noelle I am with Summer, I can imagine the 80's big hair, which I had :^:! If we all meet up, girl I am bringing you an electric guitar so we all can get down. Maybe we will even tease our hair up and go out! Haha. I hope ya recovered from your terrible afternoon! Rest up.
Summer thanks for the compliment, you are a honey!! This morning I had a somewhat of a healthy breakfast, maybe you would be interested in the recipe and you could make some up and freeze them to take to work with ya? It was a whole wheat wrap with a scrambled eggs, cheese and bacon. You could use lowfat items? But it was really good. I hope you had fun at the irish festival and had an irish beer for me!

I got here this morning and the first thing the girls says is htat we had a power surge and the tv's went crazy. So, I go to the back to try to fix them a notice that the cable is out. I call the company and they tell me that they can't even place a work order until the PAST DUE (key words here) amount is paid. Well, this place has to have the TV's. We have 12 of them and poeple hate doing cardio without them. So, I call the big man and tell him that he needs to pay the bill whic he then tells me that he paid. WHAT???? I don't think you have b/c they wouldn't say that you had a past due amount, now would they? I had to write a check and bring it to the company. Then the phone compnay calls and they want money too! What the **** is going on here? Now I can't wait to tell him I am leaving. I should not have to deal with this kind of s*#t. Let me rephrase that, I am not going to deal with this.

It has been pretty slow lately here. I hope the heat has passed for ya. It must be so darn hard to cook like you do while it is hot. Hang in there. And drink lots of ice water.
Kempy, did your day get any better? I was hoping to hear from ya. Take care and feel better.
Noelle, Summer, Cal, Holly Hello girls.
Well, gonna try and relax from somewhat of a stressful day today. My hus and I are fighting about which pre-k to send my son to. He is just so stuck in his ways sometimes, well all of the time and always thinks he makes the best decisions for the family. Ugh, I could go on but I don't want to bring anyone down with me. I shed some tears over it. And I am just going to have to come up with something, but he is like talking to a darn wall! Sorry for the rant. Hopefully everyone will have a less stressful day tomorrow. Well we have a funeral so I don't know. I feel like I have to slap some cold water on my face and go to bed. If only I could sleep :?:! Man, I can't believe I am the first one here today and it is almost 10. I have been catalog shopping for Christmas. I am trying to get it done early this year so we are scrabbeling at the last minute. I figured that this is the best time since the big man isn't here. He just called and I hate to say this but I don't really like to hear his voice anymore. I know that is mean and it may just be the PMS.
Julie are the pre-k's really that different up there? I don't think we have options down here. I could be wrong though. I don't have kids so I don't pay attention to that kind of stuff.
Angie did the dogs have a hard time on the new floor? Echo doesn't like it and she makes me laugh when she is trying to walk on it. Rhea on the other hand figured it out really quick. SHe was prancing down the hall while I was trying to walk Echo down it really slow. Echo gets really low to the ground, her legs spread and her toes spread. She just can't seem to get the hang of it. She got mad at me and stood by the front door on the tile and wouldn't move. Poor thing, but she made me laugh and I needed it.

Kempy, Rebel HATES the new floor!!! His favorite thing to do is have his ball thrown all day and night. Now when we throw it he looks like the Roadrunner trying to run but not moving. It is so funny. Last night he wouldnt come out of my bedroom(it is still carpet) to play with the ball. hahaha Candi and Mickey tear through the house and dont care when they slip and slide into the wall.
Julie, Wasnt that sad? I could cry just reading your experience. I am going to die when we have to put one of ours to sleep. When Shadow died I couldnt even look at him. I was freaked out when we went to the funeral and I saw his cousin to tell you the truth. I wasnt expecting it and it shocked me. I am not good with sad occasions. That must have been very hard for yoyu and your family to go through. My Mom's Rottie is 9 and she is showing signs of her age. My Mom is going to have a tough time when her time comes because she is so attatched to her.
We went to my parents house last night and helped them with their floor. My dad got enough to do their bedroom, hallway, livingroom and diningroom. He will be a busy boy for a while. LOL

You guys why cant I get back on track???? I weighed myself today and I am at 209 pounds!!!! :yikes: I can not believe that I let myself gain it all back again. No matter how hard I try I will still be fat and uncomfortable when we go to Florida and I think I am more mad about that. I hate to wear stretchy pants and t shirts. YUCK!!!

Hey girls, I was here yesterday but my posts kept getting lost, I was having trouble with my keyboard (keys sticking or repeating). I bought a new one but haven't hooked it up yet. My son has picture day at school today so he had to wear his formal uniform, with his hair slicked back . I hope he has a genuine smile rather than a goofy grimace like I used to make :D.
:grouphug: Angie, I hate to make this admission, but remember when we all started posting together 2 years ago? I'm probably about the same size I was then that I am now. I know, depressing isn't it? But hey girlfriend, you're not alone in your situation, just wanted ya to know that. Let's get mad and do something about it! I need some motivation. I've had fits and starts, but nothing like how I had it in the beginning (2002 when I met y'all)
Julie, try not to stress too much about the school situation. I think if after meeting the teachers, visiting the school facilities and considering the location and distance from your home or DH's work place, you should be able to make a sound decision. I totally agree that you should have a say in the matter though, since you'll probably be the one to pick up and drop off, am I right? I know how worrisome that decision can be though, you don't want to leave your baby with just anyone. Hope hubby's ears and eyes open up a little more for ya. (I've still got the boxing gloves if you need me to use 'em ;) )
Kempy, hope your day gets better and now that you're feeling this way, it just makes it that much easier to leave doesn't it? I always know it's time to go when I start answering back in my head with really smarmy smart-alecky-wise@ss things whenever the boss-man talks to me .
:grouphug: Hugs to everyone who needs them. to Summer, Holly and Cal

Hey buddies! Hahaha
How is everyone today? I am doing good, my hus is home this pm because his uncle died and he went to the funeral this am. And I had no one to watch the kiddos, so I stayed home. I only met him several times. He was a nice man though. Tonight for dinner I think its going to be chicken chili or beef chili with cornbread squares or muffins. Oh god I can taste it now!
Kemp, I hope your day is getting better. There is so much stress in life sometimes we need to just stop take a deep breath and say I can and will make it through this. We are all here. So keep posting, even if it is ranting, we don't care! Hugs sweetheart.
Angie Hugs to you too. I want you to think back about how you were feeling when you lost the weight. Maybe that would help? We all know we can get to where we want to be or close to it. I believe in you, just take it day by day. How are the kids liking school? I bet you like a quiet house, huh?
Noelle you made me smile. I love it, boxing gloves. Last night I would have used them, lol. Maybe on the sofa or a pillow or the wall. I think boxing would actually be good excercise and relieve stress. I might get one of those bags and some gloves, now you got me thinking! I hope Michael smiles nice. I know when I tell my ds to smile he makes a really funny face . It cracks me up. They never do the stuff at the right times!! Thanks for the advice. We are on a waiting list right now for the school I want and they said he could start late. So say a prayer for us and keep your fingers crossed :crossed:. Thanks again.
I was thinking wouldn't it be great if we all moved by each other. We could take turns cooking healthy meals for us all to exchange, and walk together and maybe even have a little fun with a drink or two !! I think we would all have to go out by Noelle, she has got pretty much perfect weather all year round. Come on lets talk to our hubby's about it! Just dreaming again! Well I might try and get some stuff done. I will check back later. Julie

Angie I am right here with ya. I havn't lost anything either and I have to be in a wedding in Oct. YUCK! I am sooo not looking forward to getting fitted for the dress. I am starting to look like my mother and it is grossing me out. I mean she looks good for her age but I am not 65!!
Julie I wish I cold move to HI but I don't think I cold afford it. We would all have to move in with Noelle. Talk about a full house.
Noelle I am better since he isn't here today. I do have those bad thought in my head when he talks to me. I guess it really is time to leave. Tommorrow is the day and I can't wait! (shame on me for being happy about it)

Good Morning girlies!!! I have a guy here doing a check of my furnace for us. Well, cleaning it. So I have the dogs locked in the bedroom with me. Rebel is not happy!!
My parents got most of their floor laid. Now they have their bedroom to do. I cant wait to see it. She has 3 HUGE Rotties. I guess they hate the floor.
Jay is trying to get my parents to buy our pool so he can just build the deck in and not have to screw with the pool every year. I love the pool but I have to admit that I never get in it. I think I went in twice this summer. The kids didnt swim hardly at all. It makes my electric bill go sky high and it is a pain to clean the filter out so he is sick of it. Maybe I can get a hottub instead. haha My deck would be huge without the pool.
Whats everyone up to today?

Sorry, I was in my bosses office telling him this morning. I was going to wait until later on today but I needed to make sure that someone would be at the front desk so I wouldn't have to worry about answering the phones of making smoothies. He took it pretty well but he isn trying to make me stay. I told him that I would think about it but as of today I am leaving at the end of the month. I thought I was going to throw up when I was walking in there. But it is over now and I feel very relieved.
Angie Echo still can't walk on the floors. she would rather be stuck in the bedroom than to be on them. I bet that will change to night though when Joe comes home. She loves him so much she will have to be in the same room as him. He can't wait to see her walking on them.

Good Morning
Kempy I am glad it went fine with the boss man! I knew you could do it. He better not talk about you when you are gone though! It must feel like a ton of rocks lifted off your shoulders for you. This month should be alot less stressful for you, huh? So you are standing up in a wedding? I have not done one in years. What are the dresses like?
Angie that reminds me I should get our furnace checked too. Gosh i hate to think of another long winter ahead. And Hus said this one is going to be a bad one weather wise. Yuck. I hate running the snowblower, so I always shovel. Upside, I guess burning calories.
Well hello everyone else out there. What is everyone having for dinner? I know its early. Do you guys think we should start posting what we eat on here everyday to make us responsible for what we eat? I probally would be embarrassed to type out what I eat everyday ! Well gotta run check back later. Julie

Kempy, YEAH!!! :cheer: You are so close to doing what you want to do. I am proud of ya girl!! You should get your camcorder out and tape the dogs slipping when Joe comes home.
Julie, If I posted what I eat on a daily basis i would make you ALL full!!!! Lets see so far today. 3 snack size kitkats and 1 bag of 100 calorie cheese nips. Real healthy huh? I started my period yesterday and I feel crappy today.
YEAH the humidity is finally gone!!! I could have melted this week. Kempy, I have no idea how you can stand the humidity. It is going to be mid 70 all week. I love it when it is like that.

Btw did anyone watch Trading Spouses last night? It was a good one. I laughed. I asked hus if he would want to trade me for a week, he did not answer, and I said you probally would not want me back !! Would you guys ever trade? I for sure would not do it on tv! But sometimes it sounds tempting, especially if it were the Japanese family on the first episode. I would love to stay at their huge house, never ending pool, hot tub, and that Nana. I fell in love with her. Okay enough rambling, gotta really go now :)! Julie

I feel much better now thanks Angie and Julie.
I would make you guys sick with what I eat too. I have had a health bar and an energy drink so far today and I am having tuna helper for lunch. I am PMSing too so I want to eat everything in site. Oh yeah, I had a little piece of banana bread that the owners mom made.
Julie I wouldn't trade my hubby for the world. Sorry, I have just gotten so used to him that I would want to kill someone else. In fact sometimes when I am around some of his friedns for to long I want to kill them. I haven't seen the dress for the wedding yet. I just had to order it and hope for the best. I have heard that the maid of honor hates hers so I am not looking forward to seeing mine. She let us each pick form a few different stlyes so we couldn get one that would fit us better. But, we had to look at it from a picture and it is kind of hard to tell when the girl wearing it look NOTHING like my body type. I am sure I will hate it though. I don't like dresses.

Okay girls how is your afternoon going? Got the kids lunch now I want to eat and I am starving. I even had a big bowl of oatmeal with pb for breakfast!
Kempy I hated the dress I wore for my cousin's wedding. The wedding was in Aug. and the church had no air conditioning and it was like over 100 degrees in there. Even one of the wedding party passed out during the ceremony. It was mauve. And I don't really like that color on myself. I had sweat marks on the damn dress even under my pits! I must have been really hot, I don't know how I did not pass out. I am glad you are so happy with Joe. You guys sound like a great match.
Angie I know TOM came last weekend so I am glad that frenzy eating with is over with, or is it ?

Btw Kempy, you food does not sound to bad for today. I love banana bread! Did you ever try it with cream cheese? It is great. Or make french toast out of it? You could stuff it with bananas and cream chesse and a pinch of sugar sprinkled on the cream cheese. Okay I better shut up and stop talking about food or you are going to kill me, sorry ! Julie
