Good Friday Morning Ladies~

Can't remember who all lost weight this week, but CONGRAT'S to all you losers and :bravo:

Marti~glad James is home! So would you guys consider moving to Portland considering it seems he will be working there from now on? Or is this just a temporary thing? Hope your kitty is better, and try not to flash anyone today missy!

Jen~hope the stabbing wasn't close to you. We have a old case that came up again from back in the 70's called the BTK killer. Apparently he is back and trying to be known again.

Jana~I just ordered the R is for Ricochet book from the book club and if you order that one you can get any of the others for $5.99, which is a good price. I just ordered one more because I haven't read any of these and if I don't care for them then I would be stuck with a bunch of books by her. Plus, while the price is cheap enough, they get ya on the shipping, especially on a big order.

Susan~are you talking about a Maltese? If so they are so adorable! My neighbor had one and she was the cutest dog, I wanted it. Of course I have always wanted one of those or a Yorkie but people sell them for an outrageous amount of money so never got one. But they are cute! When we get ready for another dog, DH SIL sells chihuahua's and we plan on getting one from them. I want another inside dog but a small one, smaller than little Ernie dog, who isn't so small-18 pound chunk'o!

Boy, ladies what is this spay or neuter week for all the babies?? We haven't had Ernie done and doubt that I will. I just don't see putting him through the pain for no reason. He is never around other dogs, strictly an indoor dog. Goes out to do his business in a fenced yard so...and when we get another dog it will be another male. Hope all your babies are feeling better.

Hi to everyone else! Can't remember who all posted on Chit Chat #63 or what was said so forgive me.

Not much going on with me. Have some errands to run a little later and that is about it. Going to try and go for a walk later if it doesn't start raining, supposed to later on in the day so we will see. If not maybe get in a walk on the treadmill. Monday is the big day to get back on the wagon and get down to business. Need to go check out WW sites and get an address and meeting times. I am hoping where I went before is the same, Monday at 6 pm. it is just around the corner and I figure if the weather is good I can get in a good 30 minute walk to the place. Anyhoo...have a good day ladies! See ya soon :)

All this talk of "fixing" things would have my tubes twitchin; - if I hadn't already had 'em tied! I had my tied off during my c-section with DD. I knew absolutely there would be no more. I mean, I was 36, just felt like I was done, you know. I 'm glad the birth control years are behind me.

Shanna- note my age - it ain't over til it's over sweetie...;) About the chat..do you have a pop up blocker on your web browser? I have one on mine and I can't use the chat unless I turn it off - prevents java from kicking in. If any of you have ever been to Dotti's Weight Loss zone (dwlz.com), there's a great before/after pic of her. You just move your mouse over to get the pic to change...well, I have to turn my pop-up blocker off to get that to work. Fortunately, it is pre-set to the wonderful "after" photo....

Running out of time here..so I'll just have to say "hi" for now. Congrats to all the great
"losers" out there. When I was in TOPS we always had a loser of the week, which was kind of weird at first, but got used to it...yeah "loser" is a GOOD word!

Jana - Don't know about my smarts - I think I just gab too much. I'm a little bit of a computer nerd. My dad's sold computers and been in consulting for years. I have been using them since 1983. I tend to be a jack of all trades, master of none! Still keeping my fingers crossed for Caylin, tho' sounds like the news will be good.

Sorry I missed the chat last night - but Kerry's speech rocked! I have to confess, though, in this house he is preaching to the choir. Hope I don't offend anyone's political sensibilities, but I am such a little lefty, lol! I would be interested in seeing how he's playing to undecided voters. I think that's really where this election is going to be played out...

I'll try to check in on our chat room tonite at the same bat-time, same bat-channel on the off chance anyone else is there...so who knows?

Hi RosieKate! I have been to Dotties site and it is wonderful. She has come so far.

Never had my tubes tied, and don't take BC and Shanna, as RK said it ain't over till it's over sweetie! I got pregnant at the ripe old age of 40! Yes, ladies the is the big 4-0, and yes it was planned. Women now days are waiting longer than ever before because they want their careers first which I totally understand so Miss Shanna you still have plenty of time girly! :)

Anyway...to the reason I am back AGAIN! I went and did it! Okay, so scratch everything I said about WW in the previous post. I went to the site to find out if the meeting place was the same time and all, and I joined online! Call me crazy  but for some reason it appealed to me. So I signed up for the three-month deal which saved $15 and for signing up then there was also a $10 coupon-not bad, not bad at all. Can you tell I am excited?!!! Of course that totally changes my WI to Friday now-bummer-just when I was used to Monday WI! Not sure what I weigh either. Now to go back and spend a few hours getting around and getting everything down. But for now...I HAVE to get in the shower and get gone!

Have a good one!

TGIF to everybody. It is rainy here, so no walking today unless it clears off. I am still not feeling up to par, so I can excuse not walking. Had my scopes yesterday and I just feel sore on the inside. Does that make sense? I sure had a good nap in the afternoon after my DD brought me home. She made me stay at her house for a few hours so she could see that the drugs were wearing off. As it is I can not remember anything after they gave me the "twilight sleep." Now that is a good way to do things! Seems strange to just lose that time though.
Dr. said everthing looked good and he just sent in two biopsies. I was most concerned about the colon since I have a family history of colon cancer on both sides. That was okay, no polyps, nothing. The stomach is where he biopsied, but he didn't think it was need for worry. I will see him next week.
That is all the good news. The bad news is that I still have no answer for my illnesses.
I am sorry to not do individuals, but I am so far behind on what is going on. Just want to say congrats to all the losers....and all the OP's who are still trying hard.

I'm trying to catch up with PMs!

TJ - we don't need a break from you! :grouphug: Whatever you are going through, I hope it gets better, and wish you wouldn't wait until Monday to come back. If you don't feel like sharing here, I hope you share with David or a close friend or relative where you live. I'll be thinking about you...

Sally - if you're reading this, you found the right place!

Just another quickie here....

Just got woke up from a nap by the neighbor.....couldn't get my dog to shut up. But he brought over a cat condo for the kitties....that was nice of him.

Shanna came over earlier to pick up the black kitty....now to find homes for the other two. I typed out a little "history" of the cat for his new owner. :D

I'm feeling woosy....nothing like taking a nap and being in a deep type of sleep and being woken up by barking dogs.

I better get going....I have to go pick up Jhanai in an hour or so.

Talk to you all later
Marti

PS--TJ--As Jana said...we are here if you need us, so don't ever feel like you need to give us a break. That's what friends are for!!! I hope things start getting better.

Hi,

Have 15 minutes before dinner break, thought I would peek in and say hello.

Sue my thoughts are with you! I just get rather absent minded and don't pay attention to what others are going through. Kind of scan over post at times.....didn't realize about your medical problems, sorry. Hope you get some answers soon :)

TJ- warm fuzzies with you!! Hope you have a good weekend. Pamper yourself, that might help some, hot bath, strolling at the mall, read a good book, go see a good movie, take a country drive.....:) Just hope you feel better.

YAY on the WW membership Cristi! That is exciting, love WW myself, just never could afford it.
Yes, Maltese!! It is a male, 7 years old. I brought him home today. He is a divorce settlement dog, the husband won him in court but now can't take him. So the wife was looking for a new owner........YAY- me...
Cute little thing. The hair is cut short though, going to let that grow out. Gaby, Rebecca and Rachel went with me to pick him up this morning (who btw he was free- YAY) I brought him home and gave him a bath, fluffed his air and had fun combing him.
Stinger ( the dog) didn't pay any attention to Mia the kitty. I will probably let my mom have Mia if they don't get along, though I think they will.
Don't really like the name Stinger but that is his name, so should stick with that.
Very cute!! Will try and get some pictures taken this weekend.

Speaking of laundry - Angie...........I have tons to do! I better go put in a load now.

Thanks- Jana.........I am still looking at the schedule and find something to take, probably will be that excel class though. 143.5 this morning!!! YAY- maybe all that whadder melon flushing out of the plumbing??? lol

Glad James & Jhanai will keep you busy for the weekend, Marti!! You really don't want conversations going on when it is just you in the house!! lol

Hi to everyone!! I will leave someone out so won't scroll a list........hey, Shanna.......I have kids if you want kids!! :)

Best get........go see my doggie.

Back for a post before beddy-bye...
Jana - sorry I had to leave chat so quickly....my free time is so unpredictable right now...hope I can do more chatting on future Thursdays...it's so much fun!

Jo - Sorry to not respond to your post on the last thread - did you figure out what to do about the job situation? If it were me and I had a firm offer from company number 2, I'd tell my boss at company #1, particularly if the #2 job is offering you more money. Your current company may pony up some money or benefits to try to keep you. If they don't, well, that will tell you something, too....hope I read the situation correctly. Bravo for the great job offer! now the hard part.

TJ - please don't stay away because you are sad...we will miss you! Who knows someone here might be able to cheer you up!

Marti - hope you are enjoying your time with your family...

Susan - the good scale vibes are in your orbit - it' s heading back down. Yay! Hope the cat and dog and kids all get along....one big happy family! Sounds like y'all are off to a great start!

Christi - Ww online sounded pretty good to me too. I'll be paying attention to your thoughts on it as you get into it. I get their email update and they keep pushing this recipe finder that looks pretty cool - but I have to pay to join online to get a crack at it. I'm sure enjoying WW at home.....

Night night everyone - sorry if I missed anyone - will try to catch up tomorrow..

Just popping in to say good morning! I don't have alot of time. I should be cleaning the house. It's such a mess. I'll be going out with DBF tonight. Maybe back to that delicious stir-fry restaurant. YUM!

I have let the cats out of their room this morning. So far, so good. The one still has her conehead on. She doesn't mind it so much! Funny. I do take it off for short periods of time, but then she just goes nuts with her feet and belly. She'll just have to get over it!

Just saw in the paper today that both Kerry and Bush are going to be in Davenport, IA (5 min away) next Wed. Could be interesting. They aren't releasing any details yet. I would like to see Kerry, but don't know if I can get away from work.

Well, I should go get busy. If I get done at a decent time, I may be back for individuals.

Good morning Ladies,

RK - it was fun talking to you in chat... the fort sounds so cool! About WW, if you come across any good recipes, share with us, ok?

Susan - loved the pictures of you and the kids! Now you have to send some of Stinger. (Should his name be Stinker??) It's nice that you can take him to work with you. Yay for the 143.5 :cp: I go by whatever the scale says on Saturdays only.. easier on the nerves that way, lol.

Shanna - I tried to catch you for a chat last night... sorry we missed each other. Nice of you to help Marti find homes for her kitties.

Sue - glad your test results are ok so far.

Angie - how's the case coming along? Like RK says, start taking notes so you can write a book!

Marti - hope you're having a good weekend with the fam.

Cristi - I think you'll like the versatility of WW. They are changing things in Aug., but no one knows yet what the changes are.

Sally - did you get registered? Well, you must have, since I got your PM this morning. :D Come on in and introduce yourself, ok?

Edited: Jen - you were posting same time as me. Have a good day!

Hi to the others

I'm down 1 more pound... that's an even 8 for July. Not much going on today... I need to go find a wedding present for my friend who's getting married next Saturday. It's chilly (for July) and wet outside, so I'm making soup today - chicken corn chowder.

What are you doing today?

Happy Saturday Morning Ladies~

I am in such good spirits, not sure why but I am going to enjoy as long as I can. :D Don't have much of on the old schedule today. For some reason I woke up very early (early for me anyway 6:30), maybe because my room is bright and can't really sleep late unless it is dark. So...got up watered the grass, went and washed my car, went tanning, picked weeds, started two loads of laundry AND washed down the drive-way. Last week when they were working on the two houses across the street it was a muddy mess and they had several trucks back in and out of there so where did all the mud end up? In the street! Everyone at this end of the cul-de-sac has/had mud tracks going up into their garages! Looked kind of funny. I was hoping it would rain yesterday like they said to clean it all-it didn't. So now I have some straightening of the house to do, vacuum and then I am settling in V's big chair that hugs me and reading the rest of the day! Oh, and doing a walk on the treadmill later.

Jana~CONGRAT'S on yet another loss! :cp: You are getting there. Do you have a time frame on when you plan to reach your goal weight?

Susan~you are so very welcome for the card and photo. Sorry it was just one photo. I still haven't found those pictures I was looking for but...I took some more and as soon as I get this roll of film developed will send some more. Sounds like you are lovin' Stinger. That is kind of an odd name, and I am always curious where/how people get their dogs names. By the way Marti, we had Cocoa or Ginger picked when we were looking for a yorkie. Always thought Cocoa was a cute name for a dog. Him being that old it probably wouldn't be a good thing to change his name. I have never been able to come up with a good name, something really cute but have some picked out for our next dog! LOL We came up with Ernie from Sesame Street. I had some birds years ago that we had named Bert & Ernie, I miss those birds. Also had a bunny named Katie. I do love animals. CONGRAT'S on your 143.5! :cp:

Sue~sounds like you have been thru heck with all the tests. I do hope they find out what is wrong, and soon.

TJ~ditto what everyone else said. Don't feel like you are bothering us. Sometimes it is better to come here and talk instead of staying away. We are here for you and I hate to see you stay away till Monday. :grouphug:

Jen~Have a GREAT time with DBF! I too would love to see Kerry.

RosieKate~spent some time yesterday getting familiar with WW and I am liking it! I know it will take a little bit of time to get it all down but feel it definitely is going to help. Not too crazy about how their forum is set up but I am sure once I get familiar with it all it will be fine. But I checked out some recipes and there were just way too many to look at. I will be more than happy to share some as I try them. So far, so good and I am very excited about this.

Heather~take care of yourself, and hope you get to feeling better.

Sally~saw your bio. Hope you make it on over to chat with us. WELCOME once again!

Angie~was it you who suggested the [Mr. Clean] magic eraser (think that is what it is called??)? Well, whoever it was, I just tried it and am amazed! WOW! I am going to get some more to keep around the house. I have never, ever cleaned walls so fast and so easy!

Marti~hope you enjoy your day with James and Jhanai.

Hi to eveyerone else, Katie, Kathy, Shanna and anyone I may have missed.

Need to get going and record my meals for the day at WW, and send a couple of emails. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! TTFN

P.S. Just finished with WW (the site) for now and yesterday I thought I would have to change my WI to Friday since I joined then but I figured out some stuff today and while I joined yesterday I can WI on any day I want. So I chose to stick with Monday of course and my flex points will start over then. I won't really see much of a loss from now till Monday I am sure, but by next WI there should be. I will have had a full week of following it. Anyway, just wanted to add that. See ya

Okay, so I saw this on WW and thought I would share.

For anyone who balks about just one pound look at it this way:

1 pound=4 sticks of butter
5 pounds=1 sack of potatoes
10 pounds=8 med. cantaloupes
25 pounds=3 gallons of milk

Just think Jana, you have lost 6 gallons of milk, 8 med. cantaloupes and 2 sticks of butter!! Or 48 med. cantaloupes & 2 sticks of butter, or 12 sacks of potatoes & 2 sticks of butter. WOW, when you think of it that way it really puts a new perspective on losing weight!

Jane

I'm back....

Heather - hope you start feeling better real soon.

Marti - the weight will budge sooner or later. Just be patient, missy.

Cristi - glad you are in good spirits. For me, knowing that I am doing something so healthy for myself makes me smile everyday. Maybe that's sort of what it is for you. Sometimes thinking about losing is more work than actually doing it, ykwim? According to your chart, I have lost 6 gallons of milk, 8 cantaloupes and 2 sticks of butter. Holy cow, no wonder I feel so much better! Thanks for sharing that - what an eye opener!! OOPS - I just now read the rest of what you wrote... great minds think alike, right???

Sally - hope to see you post here real soon...

Afternoon ladies--

Have a few minutes to get to the individuals that I haven't gotten a chance to do......

Tj--I hope you're feeling better about things. I hate to know that you don't have someone to talk to...that is what we are here for. So I'm hoping that you got to talk to a family member or a friend about how you're feeling.

Angie--Your case sounds intriguing to me even though you haven't told us what you're doing. I did like reading about some of your other cases you worked on....had me laughing. I can just picture you hanging on a corner with other women telling you to back off of their territory! Be careful what ever it is your working on!!

Susan--Congrats on the getting to 143!!! How great is that? Water melon and ANY foods that contain lots of water will help you know. So eat up!! Jhanai keeps asking for water melon...to messy for me to want to buy it. We settled on a cantaloup (sp?)....still messy but much smaller.

Jana--Congrats on another pound gone. I bet you're just so excited about all the new clothes that you must be purchasing as you go down in size. And to see a loss every week is fantastic!! I'm happy for you. I'm thinking my weight not budging may be due to eating too much popcorn and drinking too much wine!! :D (what an awful combination isn't it???) I've really started to drink lots of water lately though so hopefully I will see something next weekend.

Cristi--I'm so glad that you're having a great day. I love waking up to mornings and you just feel instantly in a great mood. I can't remember where James and I came up with the name Cocoa..but we did buy a dog naming book before we got her! The little Toy chi that we got before her was named Ginger. They had the same markings just VERY different in size!! I still feel sad to know she's gone!!! About the weight list thing.....I've almost lost a sack of potatoes!! I love looking at it that way, so thank you for posting that. I may copy it and then hang it on my fridge to keep it as a reminder!!!

RK--Hope you're having a great day with your family. How are you dealing with the weather up there???

Jen--When I think of your cat in a cone, I look at my cat and see how lazy and pampered she has become!! She hasn't messed with her incision at all, but she also didn't have stitches that needs removed. They used some kind of adhesive....and she's healing wonderfully!! She's also drying up....don't want the kitten thinking they can keep nursing on her!

Heather--Hope you start feeling better soon. We'll keep our fingers crossed that you do!!

Sally--I just read your bio and wanted to welcome you here!! Hope you get a chance to pop in and start chatting.

Hi to the rest of you girls....

Well Jhanai and I did some running around this morning and then finally we got back home. Tomorrow my grandpa is having the whole family over for a BBQ at his place and I'm going to make a Chicken Pasta Salad. (not very low fat at all...but it's my favorite) Jhanai and I also discovered that they opened up a scrapbook store here in our little town. I'm afraid to go in right now since I'm trying to limit my spending until next payday.....I could go crazy!

James went back to Portland lastnight, he may be home either tomorrow or Monday night. The whole process is strange not knowing when you're suppose to be out....like last night according to the list on their website, James had to go out at 9:30...and so he was waiting for his call.(they are suppose to call them to tell them to head out) he never got his call and he ended up calling him. How frustrating is that? What if James didn't have access to a computer.....how much trouble would he be in when they didn't call????

Ok...enough of all that. Jhanai is ready for me to get her some fruit...so I best get. Sorry that I missed out on chatting...sounded like you all got a chance last night. Maybe next time.

Take Care
Marti

I had to come back when I realized something....here I was thinking that I almost lost a whole sack of potatoes...when all together I have lost 3 gallons of milk!!! Wow....that totally made me day!! Thanks again Cristi!! I could feed a lot of kids breakfast cereal in the morning with all that milk!! :D

TJ--I'm so glad you stopped in. And how wonderful to have your husband notice when he didn't know you were working on it! That is what I call a NSV!!!! (non-scale victory) And I have to congratulate you on that, because things like that being said...really helps the motivation going plus, it tells you that you ARE making a difference!!

Ok...Just had to report back after my realization.

And Jana--What you've lost so far is incredible!!
So Susan......I'm curious as to all that you have to add up from what you lost!

I got home at 3 this morning,,,did alot of driving, spooky placesmmmhate back alleys, lots of homeless people,,,and some guy peed near my van,,,I could see him (not that I watched him do his business) but he couldn't see me obivously. Cristi, I was the one to mention the magic eraser,,,thing is its great if your walls are white. Mine aren't and it took some color out and made me ticked off cause now I have to paint.

omg!!!! I got rid of the kids!!!! YAY.........omg,omg,omg.....I can actually breathe now.....lol

Older girls are at the pool and Gabster is sleeping at the "babysitter" aka ex's.....though he isn't Gabster's daddy.....though he might as will be and Gaby calls him dada.......confused???? lol - anyway..........

I said. ....."Hey, Doug. Have a deal for you . Watch Gaby tonight and you won't have to watch her Monday or Tuesday."
He goes " I dont have to anyway, Mike is taking her....but I will , you need a break"....ain't he sweet?? He wasn't in our marriage though.....lol.
I will go back and get her this evening - just wanted to go to the store without kids coming with me.

So Susan......I'm curious as to all that you have to add up from what you lost!
__________________
I am reading this over and over and trying to figure out Marti?????
Meaning how much I gained back?? I got to 139.5 and gained back up to 149......during that 2 week period that I was eating high on the Costco hot dog ....and peanuts and not drinking water.

Or do you mean all that I have lost in my entire life??? whoa......ok- 110 back in 89......same 110 in 2000.......and this 20ish pounds......so I have lost 240 pounds in my entire life....plus the 6 that I just lost to get back down to 143.....so 246 pounds........final answer! Hope I answered it right....lol.

I will let you know about Shrek 2 - TJ......We were going to meet out of town because he was coming from the coast but looking at the paper he might have to come all the way in to PDX. His call now........he has already seen it but I haven't and Gabster hasn't....she has never been to a movie before.....thought Shrek2 would be a good would to take her to.......I will let you know and rub it in reeeeeeal good :)

Angie........miss you! I did 3 loads of laundry this morning. Asian shrimp chips. Sooooooooo good. I will mail you a bag?? lol....if you want, sure they must have an Asian store in Calgary. Just like the fisht taste. lol

Anyway, best get!! Need to get some nylons and such for church tomorrow. Have already been with Rachel and she spent $22.........she bought some razors and I go " do you shave (she is 13) and she rolls her eyes and says ......."muther!".......does that mean yes?? lol

I knew you had lost a lot, but I just didn't realize how much! We're all so proud of you!! You should put that in your siggy you know.....unless that's too much for you to share.

Just know that I think you're awesome!!!

Just poppin in to say hi again!!!

I'm on a roll with this scrapbooking!!! I guess I just needed a couple months away to get the creativity rollin.

At the moment, I'm working on a page (actually two since I have a small scrapbook) and the pictures are of Jhanai (of coarse) when she was 3 1/2yrs. and she was playing in the middle of a HUGE leaf pile. I had taken lots of photos of her playing around. So...I decided that I would take a few of the head shots that I have of her and cut around in a shape of a leaf. I have four leaf cutouts with her little face and then I'm cutting out leaves off of a printed paper that has fall leaves and going to stick them around the page.

What do you think? I will take a photo of it when I'm finished. I'm having fun with this layout!!

Ok.....I've babbled on long enough.........

off I go!!

It's August!!!

Cristi - I forgot to answer the question about the weight loss time frame. Well, I have to say that I don't really have a set weight goal. I know I'll never get down to what I was in my 20's, and don't even necessarily want to. But what I'm doing is just staying OP every day, and hoping for the best. I do think I want to lose more than 100, because that's still too much on my frame. Maybe 115 total. So I don't really have a time frame. I would be upset if I had one and then didn't make it... this way is easier and more attainable for me. Well, all that was a wordy way to say, no, I don't have one, lol. In the back of my mind, though, I'm thinking that by next Spring, I should be about where I will stay. Keeping in mind that as I get smaller, the weight will come off slower....

Susan - can I go with you guys to see Shrek 2? Oh please, please, please!! I've seen it twice but it's sooo funny! I am going to buy it as soon as it's for sale. The donkey is my favorite... followed by Puss In Boots. Antonio! Benji is a cute name, and if the dog is responding... hey, go for it. About Rachel... if she's buying razors, she's shaving! I started at 12 or so... because my best friend did, lol.

RosieKate - hope you're having a good weekend.

Marti - yep, popcorn and wine in abundance can slow a weight loss, lol. I eat a cereal bowl full of popcorn almost every night... Neal grows it, you know. Your scrapbook pages sound really cool. Post pics, ok? Have fun at your Grandpa's BBQ today!

TJ - wow, your hubby's comment was a smile-maker, wasn't it??? Like Marti said, that's a good NSV. Think I'll start a new thread just for those!

Angie - I was eating my peanut butter and graham crackers for breakfast when I read what you wrote... What brand pb do you use? It's gotta be Jif in this house!

Heather - hope you're feeling better today.

I've got a beef roast in the crock pot, and potatoes peeled for mashing later. Also on the menu is corn on the cob, sliced tomatoes and waddermelon for dessert. Except for the beef, it all came from our garden.

Thanks guys, :cb:I am feeling better today. I want to go to the sauna and jaccuzzi today maybe the pool but it looks like its gonna rain. We are going to take our puppy to the park.
Marti- Have fun today and eat some of that bbq for me.:T
EVERYONE ELSE HOPE UR WEEKEND IS GOING GREAT.... :df:
Angie- my doctor raised my meds a few weeks ago and I think they are to high right now. They have tons of sideaffects so my mood changes a lot.
Like the last three nights I have been having nightmares caused by my meds.
Jana- roast, potatoes, corn and watermelon can I come over hehe...
I was eating my gramham crackers and milk whiling doing post. I like Jif creamy peanut butter.
Our dog has started eating her poop(as soon as she is done going) anyone have a good idea on how to stop that we try to take her outside before she goes but sometimes she has accidents.
Started raining now lol....

Goodmorning ladies--

Jana--Send some of that popcorn over my way will ya? :D My grandpa is growing some and said that it won't be ready until this Fall!! I don't know if I can wait.....(oh yes I can)

Heather--Glad you're feeling better today. I would call the vet and ask what to do about your dog. (poor thing) how old is it?? I've haven't had anything like that before so I'm no good at helping. (sorry)

Morning to the rest you girls....

Going to get myself and Jhanai ready for the BBQ. James came home last night around 2:00 so he will get to come for a little while before he heads back up to Portland. We're getting used to the schedule, although we still like to complain......alright, I'll admit I like to complain. :dizzy:

BTW Jana--I'm going to have to think of some NSV for the thread you started. I like what you got on there!! Very good idea!!

Ok girls, I better hit the showers.

Take Care and I will check in later

Good Afternoon All~

I knew it was too good to last, waking up in a good mood. Woke up this morning with a horrible headache and sore throat. Of course I felt like I was catching a cold but didn't let that stop me yesterday, but today...well, is a different story. Didn't make it to church, bummer. I so enjoy going and having been missing too much lately-just being lazy.

Heather~glad you are feeling better today. I definitely would talk with the doc if the meds are making you feel that bad. About your dog eating it's poop, I read and heard that when dogs do that that they are lacking something in their diet, so yes I would talk with your vet.

Jana~maybe that's why I always fail because I put a time frame on the loss. Same here-I know I will never be at the weight I was when I was younger 130-135, not even trying for that. I think I would look weird and too skinny. After having four kids it changes your body and I thought I looked fine at 160, but I am aiming a little bit lower. If for some reason I do happen to lose more then yay, if not that is fine because 150 is a good weight for me. What time is dinner? I will be there with bells on  It really does sound so very gooooood! :T :hungry:

Marti~is James driving to Portland every day now? That has got to take a toll on him driving back and forth so much. Hey, definitely share the pages with us, it sounds like a cool idea. Of course the tape idea sound good also. I NEED to get my butt in gear and get to work on DD. I took all the stuff and put it on the dining room table thinking I would get tired of looking at it and get it done-didn't happen. I did pick up a few things and look at them though! Enjoy the BBQ at grandpa's today!

Angie~I did use the magic eraser on yellow and blue paint and was so happy that it didn't take the paint off. The things I have tried in the past always did, even the white paint. So this is a blessing to me. You would think I had a bunch of little kids running around the house the way the walls get.

Susan~Benji is a cute name and I have found our lil ernie dog sometimes responds to anything. You silly girl, putting my picture on the fridge. All I can say about the weight you have lost is that is A LOT of milk, sacks of potatoes, sticks of butter and cantaloupes!!!! Just imagine that much stuff in front of you! WOW!! You are truly an inspiration and I agree with Marti you should put all that in your signature somehow. You have done an awesome job lady and should be so very proud!

All this talk about PB (only Jif) and graham crackers is making me hungry, well that and the roast, mashed potatoes and corn on the cobb! Of course it is almost 1 and I haven't had breakfast or lunch so I am starving, kind of. I best get off this thing before I start chewing on the keyboard. Not much going on today, we were going to go looking at cars when V gets home but not feeling so good so I think that will just have to wait for now. I am going to curl up on the couch and finish my book and watch Lifetime the rest of the day I think, after I get something to eat.

HI to everyone else!

Have a good day all! TTFN

Heather, glad your feeling better. I was on meds once that made me have some major freaky nightmares and I remember feeling like i couldnt' wake up so I was like stuck in the nightmares...horrible.
Jana, need to go grocery shopping,,,need graham crackers..and jif
Cristi, maybe I rubbed too hard with the eraser...I gave the other one I had to Monte to use on his truck. He has a white truck,,,well mostly white except for the big WONDERBREAD with colored dots everywhere.
We are going to go see Day AFter Tomorrow at the cheap theatre.
We also have to go shopping for football cleats...kinda worried about Tan, hes been complaining that his side hurts,,,he had surgery a few years ago,, ahorrible hernia thing. Anyways I am thinking with football and the work outs they have the muscles around his incision are rebelling from all the use. Montes telling me he could have another hernia,,,yay great,,,and again who signed him up for this?
Monte found a funny web site story about the area we are going,,,I guess you get free cigars all you want,,,you just have to smoke them then adn there...I laughed,,,told the kids they have to smoke afew..lol GAG!
Susan,,,poor Mom,,,yes Rachel is shaving,,,I was shaving early too,,,figure skating thing, all the girls did. Brandon has been shaving for the last 2 months...hmmmm wonder what hes shaving thou?
Well I should get myself going,,,movie TIME! I love movies!
I love Shrek ,,,and have seen both,,,I own Shrek 1,,,got it for Mother's Day.

Hiya ladies,

Heather - Cristi's right, I'd ask the vet about your dog. Unless there's something in there that hasn't digested... like corn?

Marti - our next crop of popcorn won't be ready until the end of September, but we freeze it for the whole year. Yum! Since you have already lost 29 pounds, I know you can come up with some NSVs! Don't be humble.... share!

Cristi - hope you're feeling better and got something to eat. Lifetime really does have some pretty good movies. We've been getting free Encore which has some fairly recent releases. I expect them to start charging for it as soon as we get used to it, lol.

Angie - hmmm... being the worry wart that I am, I'd probably take Tanner to the doc. It could be a hernia again... but hopefullly not.

Shanna - hope you're having a good weekend!

Hi to all the others.

Here's a WW tip including graham crackers: The chocolate ones have the same WW points as the regular. Take one, spread it with 2 Tablespoons of ff Cool Whip, and freeze it. It's a nice snack for 1.5 points. ... and cheaper than Skinny Cows.

BBL,

RosieKate
08-01-2004, 08:18 PM
Jana- that snack sounds so yummy! I love chocolate graham crackers. Love those skinny cows, too... I pretty much go for anything with sugar in it.

I found a magic eraser-type sponge called Xtreme sponge. I got it online. It lasts longer than magic eraser, and it hasn't taken any paint off my walls, at least not yet anyway. I have a little "artist"..or should i say muralist...thought I was going to have to paint this year and I do not have white walls. I just went after them with the sponge and they looked loads better and I can put off the paint job for a little longer.

We can't do peanut butter around here 'cause James is allergic. Had a scare yesterday....every mom of a kid with a peanut allergy will attest the to shiver that ran down my spine. James went to a one day music camp at our church yesterday. The kids learned instruments and songs during the day then at 2:30 went to the nearby senior center to perform for the residents. Well, I went to the center to watch the performance. Afterward ( it was great! The kids sang God Bless America with ASL) the staff had put out cookies and juice for everyone. I heard James ask the staff member manning the table ( who looked all of 17) if anything had peanuts. The kdi snickered and said "Not today mister". Well, I told James to put what he wanted on a plate and I would check them before he ate. Well, guess what - you got it. Peanut cookies! I barely contained myself. I managed to bite my tongue .....

Gotta go - the phone is needed...catch the rest of you later. Hope you are all having a great weekend

hello ladies:

well, i had a relatively good weekend. no exercise though. but you know me ill get up first thing in the morning and getter-done. i am feeling so much better and hope to have an ok day tom considering all 3 kids will be home and we have the behavior management lady coming at 1pm. that usually gets my oldest son in an uproar. she usually comes when he is at pre-sch.

Heather-please ask your dogs vet about the poo poo thing. i feel so bad for her/him.

Marti-how old is Jhanai? I think that name is so pretty.

Cristi-I love lifetime TV. they have some really good movies on there.

Angie-Poor Tanner. I hope its not a hernia again. bless his little heart.

Jana-thanks for the idea with the grahams. by the way we are a jif family as well.

RK-noone in my family is allergic to peanuts. however, a girl i worked with at the eye doctors office was allergic (she was in her 30's when this happened) she picked up what she thought was a milky way and discovered it was a snickers. she ran to the bathroom and "fixed" herself and then got her eppi pen ready just in case. scary!!!

general comment-i love magic erasers. my two oldest thought it would be cool to frolic in the hallway with a brand new box of crayola crayons. not pretty. took it all off though thank goodness.

well, ill check in tom. hope everyone continues to do well. cant believe its August. where does the time go???

tj, frolic in the hallway? I love the way you said that...lol Brandon loved to frolic with markers too...lol Infact I had just laid new lino in our first house,,,I went into the bathroom came out and he had made some PURDY colorful circles all over the floor...*gasp
KR my cousins little girl (same age as Tan) has peanut allergy,,,when they used to visit I would go throu the kitchen,,,put everything away, wiped down everything,,,cause love PB and eat it alot, I would make sure there was no possible residue anywhere.
Jana, will be trying out that choc wafer and cool whip sounds yummy.

So I go grocery shopping and you know what I forget? yup the wafers....*sigh will stop on my way home from work tomorrow. We have a holiday tomorrow but our office still works..and so does Monte.
Well Day After Tomorrow was great, the special affects were unbelievable. Tanner wants to see it again,,,will bring him with his buddies once they are home. Seems all his friends are gone for the next 2 weeks.
Well I should get going,,,need to wiped down the office,, a nice layer of dirt is everywhere,,,from when I left the window open.

Okay all this talk about pb is getting to me. That is one of my favorite things. I love Jif chunky and anything with nuts in it. Sounds like all the Jaded Ladies had a busy week-end. I didn't do much yesterday except housework. Today we went to visit 2 of my husband's sisters and then out for lunch. I managed to stay OP and felt better today than all week. Walked 2 miles this evening after 4 days of laying off, so that was fun too.
Starting the exercise program bright and early tomorrow. I am so out of shape I probably won't be able to go 10 minutes...LOL.

Hope you all have a bright and sunny Mon.

Hi girls--

I told Jhanai that I'm taking a few minutes to post and she said to hurry up!! Kids..... :)

Cristi--James doesn't drive to Portland everyday...it's strange how it works. One of the terminals is in Eugene (20 miles from home) they travel North to Portland and he leaves his truck in Eugene...He stays in Portland until the next trip back down south. I'm still trying to figure out how he knows when he's going South!! But he calls me and lets me know. Very confusing!! But he says that he may be back again either Tues. or Wed.

Angie--Sure hope Tanner doesn't have another hernia!! I've only heard of them never actually met anyone who had one, but I hear that it's terrible. So I will be thinking of him, keeping my fingers crossed that it's not another one!!

Jana--For some reason, it never dawned on me that you can freeze popcorn. That is definately something I'm glad you shared with me, that way I can freeze what my grandpa shares with me. The things I learn from you ladies....it's wonderful!!

Rk--I felt that shiver down my back when I read your post!! I can't believe it!! I think I would have had a heart attack....then I would have probably been banned from ever entering that place again after I said some words!! I'm taking it that your son didn't eat any.....I hope!!

TJ--Jhanai is 10. I love her name too. I too like the magic erasers. It cleaned up a lot of the mess my grandpa left while remodeling this house. It worked great!!

Sue--2 miles is great!! Especially considering that you haven't been feeling very well. Just take it easy when you start your new exercise program!!

Hello to the rest of the girls I may have missed!!

The BBQ was fun. There are so many girls in our family!!! And it was nice to hear that two of my cousins and my sister are all pregnant and are due within weeks and a month from each other!! They each had a girl the last baby they had and now they're all wanting boys!! (And we need more boys in the family! :D )

I also have to say that I ate WAY to much!! Always a thing with me when we have the family together. I made sure I told everyone that the pasta I made was NOT low fat at all....and everyone loved it. So that made me feel good. I was almost worried. (I don't usually bring a dish...I buy the chips or buns most of the time!!)

Ok, I better get myself off of here.

You all have a GREAT Monday!!

Take Care

Sue, 2 miles is good, I should of done that tonight,,,had the time but instead played solitair on the web...geesh Im a lazy bug
Marti, in our family we have more boys infact we have 3 girls out of 14 grandkids. The funny thing is, my Brandon is called big Bran cause we have another Brandon born, 7 yrs and 2 days after mine. And my Tanner is called big Tan cause there is another Tanner who is 11 months younger then him to the day. I would of thought that other names could of been used but I guess not.
I would of loved to have a girl,,,which would of been dangerous...can you imagine the shopping that would be happening? With my luck I would have had a tom boy for a girl...lol
Well Tanner is feeling better,,,he said it just felt really tight, and I doubt either of us would forget that New Years Eve day he had surgery.
I was always told to keep popcorn kernals in the freezer,,,along with my almonds and ground coffee.

howdy ya'all!!!! I am back at work and ready to jibber jabber. If I can think of something to say. It is so hard to keep up with you funny gals when i have to miss two days. :(
Jana: yah!! for the added pound lost. They add up and I think you are doing so great. I am so sad that I missed chatting with you. I found out that i can get on the chat room at home with no problems, it must be blocked at work. I got on earlier today and chatted with a nice preson. so I am sad that i can't get online to chat at the predetermined times, I have to missed out. pooh, I miss all the good stuff because of my work hours. NO FAIR!!!! :D I have been freezing popcorn for a long time when I use the air popper. Which isn't often, but my mother always did it, so I did it. Don't know why, but she said it stayed better that way and popped better. I don't always do like she says, but I thought why not. I guess it seems to be normal. hee hee I hope that i can now me good with losing weight and be able to feel as good as everyone else here. I just get so frustrated with myself and disgusted and wonder what is wrong with me that I can't do it right. I whine and complain, but still haven't found that secret to get it taking care of. POsitive thinking, I hope will maybe work one of these days.
Angie: Hernias?? Yikes. My dad had to have surgery for that, I remember he was not loving life for quite some time. Everytime I have a problem I panic, because I don't want that to happen to me. I am glad everything seems to be ok. That kind of stuff can be rough. Smiles your way.
T.J. : I too get depressed a lot. Just ask Marti, I must drive her mad. I also do not like getting on a bringing everyone down and get told to come on here anyway. Not posting, but justing reading everyone elses brings me out of my funk and make me WANT to get on and share. I have a rough time bothering people with my problems, I am a bury my feelings and problems kind of gal. I hate to open up, I hate to bother people. However I have found that these ladies are very understanding, and just reading what they say can cheer you up and make you feel like you belong. I just understand what you are going though, it seems like I get depressed every week. You are not alone here though and I am glad you can back to post. ;)
Cristi: thank you so much for the card, you can never understand fully just how nice it makes me feel to get those. It makes my day to know someone has been thinking of me. I just wish I had mroe money to do that myself. I am cramped my my lack of funds, since I get so much enjoyment out of making things for people ( even though I think they are cheesy) and sending cards or giving cards. Just want you to know they always bring a smile to my face. I mean, who DOESN'T like o get mail, whether it be over the computer or through the post office. What a sweetie you are.
Susan: You are the goddess of weight loss lady. You and Jana need to go around the country and do seminars. Say, marti like my idea of getting the oregonian Jaded Ladies together for a meeting and greet type of thing. It would be nice to see some of the ladies I pour my life out to. I am jealous that you have a dog. I want one so bad I can taste it. And no , I don't eat dog, it is just an expression ladies!!!! :dizzy: I am such an animal person, if I had the money and land and owned my own home, I would probably have a menagerie. Of course that is just a dream cause if all those dreams were to come true, my sweetie would not allow it. Big meanie!!! so for now I love my babies ( my life) and feed my friendly squirrels who sit on my lap and feed out of my hand the peanuts I buy for them. I just love squirrels and chipmunks. That was the light of my life when I was a kid and went of vacations. I loved stopping at rest stops or camp grounds and feeding the wildlife. I am a wierdo, I admit. I even rescued a Crow about two months ago that i think was poisoned or hit in the head. The poor thing couldn't stop moving it's head, couldn't fly and his crow buddies were trying to help him ( so sweet) I didn't want him to be an easy target for cats or another predator, so I threw a towel over him, put him in a box and rushed him to the local animal rehabilitation center. I gave them a donation and left with the greatest feeling, they gave him a anti-inflammatory to reduce swelling right away. I oftern wonder if my little blacky made it or had to be put down. What ever happens I know I did a good thing. Ok, I am sure I am boring everyone with my animal adventures. I am just a HUGE animal activist ( much to marti's irritation I am sure) and am a member of PETA. God's creatures are just wonderful to me. anywho.............. :p
Marti: hey missy, share you weight loss secrets!!!! You looked great the last time I saw you . I am soooooo jealous. WE need to have a craft day, maybe sip some wine, do some crafts, I can talk my head off as usual. hee hee. That sounds like fun to me.
WEll, I gues i better shut the heck up for now, before you all cut me off.
To everyone I missed individually, hope you week goes well and the weekend was somewhat relaxing ( I saw my mommy for her birthday) and I shall chat tomorrow.

hey ladies:
back into my groove. got up at 530 my time and did my 4 mile walk video. i just love how motivating leslie sansone is.

squeak mouse: your a member of peta? well, have you seen the chicken beatings that are happening in moorefield, wv at the pilgrims pride plant that is affiliated with KFC? that happened only 1 1/2 hrs from my house and only 20 min from my parents house. my XH works there but not in that department. i got so upset and cried when i saw that. i think they need to take those guys and beat them to death like that. seriously, what goes around comes around right. think its great how you take care of the animal friends.

well, hope everyone has a great day.

TJ: I have been boycotting since about dec or before KFC. It was in my PETA magazine a long time ago, before the TV publizing of it. It makes me sick and I cried. It is almost to the poinbt that my sweetie tells me to quit reading the darn thing. I have cried and dry heaved everytime I get my magazine. It makes me sick. If I had mroe time to get all the facts to know what i was doing without getting sick, I would become a vegatarian. I also boycott Iams and anyone that supports them ( like applebees) and Petco and a list of others. I am a big supporter of stopping circuses and live animals shows, etc. I am just amazed on how cruel people are. I mean if you have to eat animals for food, there are more humane ways to kill them. Plus let them live normally until then, roam in the fields, etc, instead of being put in small cages, in the dark cramped and covered in filth. Animals deserve as much dignity that humans do. I just don't understand it all and the waste too. Indians used to just kill what they needed for food and clothing, etc, all the waste that happens now is sad. Ok, I better stop and get off my soap box, I could go on and on with the injustices in this world. Sorry ya'all.

Good morning, Ladies!

RosieKate - I sure know how you feel with the allergy situation. Mary was allergic to peanut butter (and other stuff) but it was so hard at school, because so many foods had peanut butter or peanut oil in them! Thankfully, she outgrew that allergy.

TJ - glad you are feeling better! Good luck with the behavior management lady today. Like Angie, I thought the "frolic in the hallway" was a poetic way of stating your idea.

Sue - glad you are OP and feeling better.

Marti - yep, we freeze the unpopped kernels in quart-size freezer baggies, and bring them out one at a time to refill the jar. Your bbq with the fam sounds like so much fun! I need a boy grandchild! It's up to my son or Katie to come across with one, lol. Hopefully, for Katie it would be Years away!

Shanna - sorry you can't chat at work. We can chat while you are at home sometime... just let us know when to meet you there, ok? My dogs won't let the rabbits or squirrels come close to the house but I love watching them. When we lived in town, they would come right up to the fence, knowing the dogs couldn't reach them - it was funny! Btw, I boycott veal... makes me wanna cry to think of how the calves are treated.

Hi to the others.

I have a date with Mary today! Since she has been working, we don't get to visit as much as before. The other day when she called me, I teased her by saying "Who is this??? The voice sounds sort of familiar!" lol. So she's coming over later this morning for a chat and a hug.

I truly have to get some cleaning done today... if any of you stopped by unannounced, I'd be so embarrassed! Not that that would happen, but you get the idea.

BBL,

A quick hi before the new thread gets started....

Weigh in day for me and I'm down 2 - wahoo! I'm getting within spitting distance of my halfway point. This week, My DS is in a fencing camp in the a.m.s, so I am looking forward to putting Leigh in the zoomer and getting some exercise. With the fort construction and the heat, I have been skipping my exercise.

The peanut incident sent a little shiver down my spine. My son's allergy is a fatal one - if he ingests he would go into anaphylactic shock and he has to have a epipen on the premises everywhere he goes. The allergist told me there is a 20% chance that he could outgrow it, but that means that to contemplate a bite of peanut butter, he would have to realize that there would be a 1 in 5 chance that he wouldn't react. Those are not great odds, so he is being raised with the knowledge that this is his sack of rocks to carry his whole life. Fortunately his level of sensitivity isn't as high as some, so he doesn't appear to be affected by sitting next to people eating PBJ at lunch...his issues seems to be solely about ingesting. I send him out into the world everyday and say a little prayer......

Have a greatday everyone, I'll be backlater to do individuals. Looks like I'm not the only one who is a "big loser" this week ;)

Oh no! I was well into a long post when my kitten apparently pushed the "magic button" and it all disappeared. Maybe I'll redo it later. Jen
